Such a fantastic family MX park!! Right from the get go we were informed of all the safety guidelines which kept our family safe and happy for the entire 2 days of riding. Very clear instructions even my 7 year old was able to comprehend. We swam twice in the creek, rode the first few tracks with ease and even had some challenges on the bigger tracks. Affordable rates and very welcoming staff. We will absolutely be visiting again & again. Thanks so much Grant & team for such a great first track experience 🏁☀️
11/10 We got what we asked for and more! The team welcomed us like family and set aside any doubts or concerns we may have had before coming being first time track riders. It was very family friendly and catered to all levels of riders. Our whole family levelled up in skill over the weekend there and we even snuck in a few swims to cool off after working so hard and having so much fun. Would definitely recommend! P.s our 7yr old son showed respect and initiative by shaking hands firstly then followed by picking up sticks to help grant whilst we were in conversation. They took a great shine to this kind of behaviour and actually rewarded him. This will have a lasting memory on him forever.
What an impressive operation! We had 3 nights and 4 days here, we did not want to leave! Grant (the owner) really knows what’s best for families who want to enjoy a safe weekend of riding and camping, he operates his business flawlessly. Us as parents and kids were sat down upon arrival and were informed of the common sense expectations that should be enforced at all mx parks. Our kids knew if they played up or didn’t follow the rules we would be sent home. He was hard and direct, but very accomodating and informative, always had time for us as guests. Beautifully maintained tracks, surrounded by a creek that follows the boarder of the park, clean toilets, fire pits, fantastic scenery and plenty of wildlife, our kids and dogs enjoyed every minute of it!! We will most certainly visit again soon.
It's a great place. Very family orientated. Good tracks. There's a nice bush walk to a waterfall too. You can't take bikes with straight through mufflers so be aware of that.
Really love riding and camping here. The Tracks cater for all ages and abilities, the rules are great to keep everyone safe. Kids play spot light at night while sitting around the fire. There are toilets and a creek to swim in. You can also take your dog (but has to be on lead and you clean up after).
I've been going there off and on for 9 years always had fun people are nice and considerate of younger riders grant is awesome fantastic place we'll be going there for another 10 years. Shontel
Great little family spot. Yes plenty of rules but no issues here - it keeps everyone safe. We rode and camped and had a great time. Will definitely be back.
I've read the reviews, I've visited once and will comment, which will split the deck. Induction takes a 20 or 30 minutes (A 1 off). There is an expectation you will follow rules and they are enforced. If you don't like the rules, don't make the drive, simple. Grant was very straight up in his expectations and is purposely creating a family friendly safe riding/camping experience (probably one of the only tracks). I appreciate that he wont just take anyone's money. Thumbs up from my time here.

Such a hidden gem only 3 klms down a dirt track. Quite interesting only a 1klm round trip walk down to the train siding and along to the tunnel. Yes there is a barrier either end about 5 metres inside which denies access to the full tunnel due to the bat colony. The park area was outstanding for a picnic, with a drop toilet and about 3 fairly new picnic shelters with tables and one had a sparkling clean electric BBW. An interesting last minute stop off the main highway for lunch and a wander around. Highly recommend
Interesting place, worth a visit although it's a pity that bat colony is more important for local government than keeping "historical landmark" in a better condition. Tunnel can be accessed from both openings however left side (via metal steps) is much shorter and quite stinky (bat poo I assume) while right one is much longer, very echoing, dark and therefore more interesting. There're multiple shelters, bbq and toilet facilities in the park.
Great place to visit when travelling nearby. Would not recommend a trip to this location as the sole destination. Please note that only light rain for 10-20 minutes is needed to result in seriously muddy walking conditions on approach to the tunnel due to the cut-out terrain of the old rail alignment. There is minimal way finding signage. If descending from the upper ‘car park’ via the forest trail, then right at the bottom of the slope after the three stairs.
What an eerie feeling we had when visiting the tunnel.
You just have to love these forgotten but truly valuable slices of Queensland history. Easy side trip on your way to the Bunya Mountains. Pity you can't walk through, but understand it is for the protection of the bats, and to stop all the graffiti / tagger idiots.
Nice easy walk down one side but as you can't walk right through the tunnel you have to go back the same way and then go down the other side which is down a big staircase. Don't envy the people from years gone by, that would have been dammed hard work digging all that out through rock by hand.
Down a short dirt road is the Muntapa tunnel. The grass or should I say weeds were very overgrown. It was hard to see the walking tracks. There are picnic tables, toilets and bbqs. The tunnel it self is well worth a look. It is blocked off half way due to a bat colony. There’s plenty of story boards with plenty of great information.
Amazing part of QLD rail history, well worth a look…
