Visiting Flying High Bird Park was a delightful experience for all ages. Although the park is a bit small, the variety of birds they have is impressive and makes it worth the visit. The wide selection of birds provides a unique and educational opportunity for bird enthusiasts of all kinds. The park's staff was friendly and informative, making the visit even more enjoyable. While it might be small now, I'm sure they will continue to improve and expand in the future. If you appreciate the beauty and diversity of birds, Flying High Bird Park is a must-see destination.
It's a good, not so little, bird park! They have the bird food to feed the birds if you'd like, otherwise they are very friendly and fly over to you, depending what you have on you may be more interesting (my earrings were favourites). They also have the walk go through to some farm animals, which is neat! It is a bird park, so I think mice/rats in the bird cages are common, tidy in the front reception area. Friendly staff serving!
Was a really good experience. Ended up spending a couple of hours at the park. Can feed the animals. Birds will fly down to you, absolutely recommend getting mammal food can feed all sorts deer, miniature horse, camels. 10/10 Experience if your wanting to be up close with animals.
We loved our visit to flying high bird park, there was so many different beautiful birds to see. Enjoyed taking our time in each area, feeding the birds and taking photos. As the park grows and has larger numbers of visitors, I imagine it would be beneficial to have roaming staff to keep a closer watch on visitors and the beautiful animals. However I can understand this would add to running costs. We were ready for our tasty toasties and coffee at the cafe, which is a great spot to stop and relax after all that walking! Looking forward to our next visit
We visited Flying High on a day trip to Childers and were very impressed. The staff are great while the park itself is a hidden delight, tucked away behind the industrial shed main entrance. Upon entry into the park, you embark on an interactive journey along the lush, leafy path that leads you from beginning to end. Along the way, you'll enter various sections that, naturally, house different types of birds, as well as llamas (alpacas?), farm animals, emus and more. Pay a couple of dollars per bag and you can take food along to give to the residents. Well worth the effort as it goes a long way and sends the animals racing in your direction. The staff were very humble when praised and mentioned that the park is a work in progress and has more to achieve. If that is the case, I look forward to visiting in months or years to come as, even now, the experience was 100% positive. I truly wish them all the best for the future.
Reading the reviews wasn't good but we still went. It's well worth it the stop. Birds really friendly and are looking for a feed. Just buy lots of feed for the animals before going in. Really large range of souvenirs that's on par for pricing around Australia.
A very reasonably priced attraction with lots to see. The young lady at reception was simply a genuinely happy person who clearly loves her job. The souvenir and gift shop was reasonably priced as was the cafe. We really enjoyed this place and the bird life and animals were beautiful.
My sister and her family and I and my hubby had a great time visiting together. I especially enjoyed the dinosaur bird snapping the food from my hand. All the birds are just beautiful to see. The seers and buck is a great addition to see also. They were too interested in us unless we had food lol. And the upgrade from we the years is amazing in comparison. My niece And nephew thought the pin f was the best but and wanted to take him home. Tantrum slightly avoided as I said I’d buy them a milkshake if they shut up. Great day out

For the short time we were in Eco Lodge we really enjoyed it. The backpackers living there are all very nice and it is really easy to make friends. We had work everyday while we were staying in Eco Lodge. Definitely a better experience than hostel. If you’re a couple you might have to share your room with another couple when it’s busy season if the tents are unavailable. That’s the only inconvenient.
Highly recommend Eco-lodge!! Spent 3 months here and had an absolutely fantastic time! The accommodation and facilities are great and the people even better! Dorm rooms, bathrooms and kitchens are very good and clean! And compared to some other working hostels it is like, as the best cleaner ever would say, the Hilton!! Vanessa and Rhys will assist with anything and everything! They keep the property very very well maintained! Nothing is ever too much!! They have a variety of contacts for farms and unlike other places, will not invite you to come until there is work for you! If you want to make great memories and meet friends for life this is definitely the place!! And if you love animals enjoy Breaker, Mango and Bobcat!!!
One of the best experiences in my life. The location it´s really good, it´s perfect for camping. The cleaning service was really good and i´m glad to be there last year.
I've stayed in Eco-lodge from the end of december until end of march. I was able to complete my 88 days, but with some luck because sometimes there were no jobs available, which is not nice if we are staying in a working hostel. However, everything went ok and if one wants to work and works well, jobs will come up ! Vanessa and Rhys are very cool and nice people and are always available to help and respond to and solve any problem that may rise. I loved the Eco part of the hostel, with waterless toilets and limited time showers. The place is very beautiful and quiet, with lots of wildlife all around. The jobs available are mainly fruit picking which I've really enjoyed doing. The transportation system to get you to work is very good and cheaper than other hostels for those who don't own a car. The ambient in the hostel is super friendly and chill. Don't forget to enjoy the "Mexico" nights, to play some football, volleyball and to join the Run Club ! I have also to mention the Christmas Day bbq at the beach offered by Vanessa and Rhys (with vegetarian options!!) which made the day a lot more special for everyone that is thousands of km away from home and their close ones. The only not so good point is that on rainy days, there's not so many places to be as everything is mainly outdoors and gets wet. It gets very hard to dry the clothes also. Overall, I've had a very special and good times in Eco-lodge with lots of cool, interesting and wonderful people!! I'd recommend it and I'd come back :) (Some photos I had on my phone, I'm not posting photos of people as I don't know if they would be ok with that :D)
I experienced an amazing Working Hostel for doing the 88 days. It was a great atmosphere, a decent equipped and always clean hostel. The owners make sure you got a job before getting there, therefore no long waiting once you got accepted. Can only recommend to everyone!
I had an amazing experience at this hostel! Vanessa and Rhys are incredibly helpful and friendly, always willing to assist. The location is good, close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s also a great place to meet new people and make friends. I highly recommend it :)
I've stayed in Childers Eco-Lodge for almost 4 months and can really recommend it to anyone. When i first arrived I was surprised by how welcoming and friendly everyone was. Normally when you arrive in hostels everyone has their established groups and it's hard to fit in as a new person, but here I felt welcome the first minute. The vibe is just really good and there's always something going on, alot of nature, ducks and chickens running around everywhere and of course the beloved hostel dog Mango. Another important thing is that they provide you work before you arrive, so once you are there you can start working immediately. But one of the main reasons I enjoyed my stay so much was Jeannie - the soul of Eco-Lodge. She's so kindhearted and was always there if you had any issues and at the same time keeps everything clean and tidy. It was an amazing stay with amazing people that I won't forgot anytime soon! Lots of love 🫶 Joel G
The best working hostel I've ever stayed in. Great family, who runs it and a very welcoming environment. 5/5 defnetly a great place to do your farmwork. Made a lot new friends here
