Beautiful day for the markets and the Steam Festival was on too. Plenty of parking with parking assistants. Friendly stall holders and nice relaxing vibe, enough space so it doesn't feel crowded.
Very interesting place to walk around. Very interesting idea and nice to preserve the history in this way Most places were closed on the Saturday, but I guess they’re open with the market on the Sunday. It was a lovely little coffee shop.
A must visit for all... family fun for kids alot to be done and learn. We should keep supporting these amazing spaces...
Interesting place to go to. Lots of information about the past. But some of the building are closed to the public because of the asbestos in the buildings.
A place so nostalgic you can feel you entered into the bygone era. Today people gather and meet here every Sundays to experience the joy, the hustle and bustle of pop up stores offering various trades eg a mixture of asian amd european food, clothing, adult and kids accessories, entertainment, kids play areas music and the like. Come and visit Old Petrie Town/Village and enjoy the sunday with your loved ones!
Wonderful place to go for markets on a Sunday and a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. Have to say though our trip was a bit disappointing because there weren't as many stalls as there used to be; not sure if it was just the day we went or generally. Would love to see more stalls here which would make it even better.
So much to see, allow 3-4 hours - I really liked the Fire Museum, and all the old heritage buildings were each so unique - My wife enjoyed a few hours window-shopping for all sorts of crafts and clothes
Great use and maitenance of the old buildungs to make it as it would have been in the day. Quite surprised. Will go back and look not just for the markets

Check if the event from Steam Museum is on, really worth to check them out, great for family or couple. Was raining on that day but we still feel it is worth to have a look!!
Interesting place to go to. Lots of history here. Free entry. Wheelchair friendly. Great place to go to on the holidays. Highly recommend going to have a look. Friendly staff as well.
A beautiful museum. We visited for the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition and workshop, which was fantastic! The permanent local history exhibits were really interesting and interactive. Highly recommend a visit and checking out the historical village too. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Clean modern facilities and wheelchair/pushchair access.
A gem of a regional museum with very helpful and friendly staff. The Pine Rivers Heritage Museum in Old Petrie Town offers a rich dive into local history with engaging displays and a charming setting in The Old Petrie Town Precinct. Walking through Yebri House was a highlight. I caught the Da Vinci Machines exhibition—fascinating and beautifully curated, though only running until 2nd November 2025. Well worth a visit for history lovers and curious minds alike! The museum has free entry and is the perfect place for families to explore. Make a day of it and explore Old Petrie Town where you can grab a bite to eat and discover more local treasures.
It has Da Vinci Machines exhibition. Excellent opening talk and great wooden models.
Had no idea how big this museum is. Friendly staff. Extensive range of items related to the area. The highlight was the Da Vinci free exhibition. The man was brilliant. So worthwhile to see and interact with. Highly recommend taking the kids for this experience.
What a gem of a museum! Well laid out, exhibits well presented with informative notices. You even learn about the Aussie dunny, appropriately in the spotlessly clean toilet cubicles. And the staff are very helpful too.
Nice little museum with a Da Vinci exhibit when I went. More interesting than plenty of museums I've been to before, and has some cool stuff here, as well as being free.
