I visited this cave after Go Sagada arranged transport and a guide for me. The Sumaguing Cave is the best caves in Sagada. Descending as much as 150 metres down, you'll get to see some incredible formations created by water, some of which have names corresponding to their visual, such as the bird and mother and baby elephants, the tortoise and palm tree. Near the bottom of the tour are pools where you can take a dip. The water is cool, but not too cold. Make sure you have the tourist tax and receipt from the Sagada Tourist office. I'm not sure if it's permissible to visit without a guide, but I would not want to go down without one. Awesome experience.

I visited this place with my daughter, Ezra, and it has become one of the most unforgettable memories of my life—sharing the experience together made it truly special. The journey was challenging, and now I understand the meaning behind the tagline “I survived” in Sagada. I highly recommend it to those who seek adventure and thrilling challenges. Our tour guide was highly professional, and the photos they took were absolutely superb and amazing. Sagada is a must-visit! A perfect 5 out of 5.

The cave is deep and easy to get wet in the last stage. Stairs are only available for the first few 100m. Be prepared with adequate equipment, the rocks are slippery. The route is difficult and dangerous. Make sure your shoes are water proof and suitable for climbing. Better to bring a cross water proof bag to store your phone. Free your hands are the key to get yourself in and out safely. Do not go without a guide. The view are amazing but rmb your safety is the highest concern.

First time trying out spelunking and I would recommend everyone to do this at least once in their life, the rock formations as you go deeper inside the cave just get better. Air is a little bit cold and so is the water so I recommend wearing sports clothing and your strongest slippers/hiking sandals for this adventure. You can also opt to explore deeper into the cave but you would have to go through tight, smaller holes. Expect to get wet and dirty. We went there at 8:30 am and got out around 10. We were the 2nd to arrive and while we were on our way back out, a lot of people were starting to come in so highly recommend to go there earlier.

This is one of the highlights of our Sagada experience. The cave is beginner friendly for those who want to experience cave spelunking. This has the biggest cave chambers among caves in Sagada. We entered the cave late in the afternoon but there are still a lot of tourists going in and out of the cave so it is safe to explore. This is a thrilling experience. Our young tour guide was very accommodating and made our cave experience easy and fun he even made gimmicks for our photos

If you’re heading to Sagada and looking for something more exhilarating than sipping mountain coffee and pondering life at sunrise, Sumaguing Cave is a must. The rock formations are the main stars—impossibly intricate, with amusing names like the “King’s Curtain,” the “Pregnant Woman,” and the “Chocolate Cake.” Your guide will point them all out with equal parts enthusiasm and dry humor. There’s also a natural underground pool you can wade through, if you're okay with water that feels like it came from a melted glacier. The trail is very slippery and muddy the tour guide will ask you to remove your shoes as well for safety. Bring a dry bag or at least protect your phone and wallet. It's kind of hard you need strength going up.

The hanging coffins are a really fascinating local custom. Although the most famous coffins are the ones placed on the mountain side. It's worthwhile getting a guide as you get more information about the history of this practice. The valley is also the site of caves which contain coffins. A guide will lead you to a couple.

It's a wonderful place, if you're looking for some trail vibe, because it's a lot difficult to climb some rocks and pass through some tiny passages, especially for those who is not used to... But you will be okay, just rest and go slowly. Interesting history btw

You will be amazed not just by the views but also the history of townsfolk and the history of hanging coffins. Burials have different spots, this famous area is the specific spot for tourism but before you reach the spot you still need to trek and hike for 10 mins which is a bit difficult due to the steep stairs might be a hassle for others such as senior citizens and some that have problems in knees, but overall it is a worthy experience.

We heard interesting stories about the hanging coffins from our tour guide. While some might not support the idea of the mandatory tour guide, I believe this is one of those tourism activities that are worth supporting because visitors can learn something straight from a local (though these info are all available online).

The price though every and solemn had such a peaceful vibe. Our tour guide was so informative. My husband and I learned so much not only of the place but of the culture of the People from Sagada. Our dog had the time of his life exploring the nature all around.

Easy Hike. Good for beginners. Nice falls, very cold water. You will be accompanied by dogs going to the falls.

This place is simply stunning. The majestic waterfall stands 60 metres and falls into a pool suitable for swimming. You'll need the tourist/environmental tax and receipt from the Sagada Tourist office in town, plus a guide to be hire near the start of the village.

A hidden gem in the flatlands of Northern Sagada. You need to trek down a cemented set of stairs to get to the village, and eventually to the river and to the falls. Entrance fee is 10/head, guide fee is 500 per group of 7, and shuttle fee (if you're coming from the city) is 600. The trek down is around 2 km, and we got it in less than an hour (40-45 mins) without stop. It isn't that much difficult as the steps are small and you can really rush your way down. We entered through the tourism office (Bangaan jump off). We had it early morning (8:30 AM) so the sun is still calm and tolerable. We were the first to set and arrive at the falls. We did it on a Saturday, as tours usually do the Marlboro Hills/Blue soil first so there are no other guests aside from us at this point. You will pass by the village on the way. You can ask your tour guide/the tour guide will share with you the history of the barangays in the northern part, how they are different from the central Sagada, etc which are really interesting. Beautiful rice fields after the village--you can take instagrammable shots there. River is a bit dried out during summer, and there is also fewer water rushing out of the falls; the good thing about this is you can come closer to the falls, compared to when it's raining and you can only come to a certain point. Very cold water. Locals also come here to gather, swim, play. They were very nice and a good experience to immerse with the community. There's a hidden area some may check in; you need to crawl on the small chamber on the left and there's a mini falls facing right the big falls. Going up is the real challenge. We opted to exit in Pide, going up there is tolerable. You will exit right in the village and you will hike up a cemented road with less stairs. It was way easier as I imagined climbing back to Bangaan. The stairs going back are grouped together in big numbers, so you will be forced to climb continuously and it's very tiring!! Especially, under the heat of the Sun. In Pide exit, the stairs will only be on the last leg and it's tolerable compared to the ones we passed through in Bangaan. I would say it's worth the adventure! Not the best falls in the Philippines but definitely one great experience!

For any Sagada adventurer, especially first-time tourists, a trip to Bomod-ok Falls is an absolute must. Your journey begins at the Tourism Office, where you'll register and pay a tourism fee of PHP 100. A guided tour fee of PHP 1500 is also required, ensuring a safe and informative experience. The trek to the falls kicks off about 20 minutes from the tourism center. If you're new to hiking, expect the descent to take a few hours. However, seasoned hikers can complete the downward trek in as little as 30 minutes. As you make your way down, you'll pass through a charming Kankana-ey community and stunning rice terraces, offering incredibly picturesque views. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by the splendid Bomod-ok Falls. Its crystal-clear waters are not only beautiful but also potable, serving as the main water supply for the surrounding community.

We visited Sagada on February 16, 2024, and on the second day of our stay, we went to Bomod-ok Falls right after Marlboro Hills - Blue Soil and Sumaguing Cave tours with only an hour or two of rest. We didn't want to waste time, so we made the most of the day. This falls is very beautiful, and the view on the way to the falls is stunning and worth it, although we got tired from the trekking going and coming back. The stairs going up, you will really feel the pain in your thighs after trekking. I regularly hike, I didn't get tired from Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, and Sumaguing Cave. But it was here in the trekking to Bomod-ok Falls that I got tired in the afternoon, but all of that was worth it, and I didn't regret that we did Marlboro Hills, Blue Soil, Sumaguing Cave, and Bomod-ok Falls in one day. The tiredness was totally worth it.

Bomod-ok Falls in Sagada is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. The hike to the falls is filled with stunning views of lush landscapes and terraced rice fields, making every step a visual delight. During our hike, we are also greeted with a field of wild sunflowers, making the experience memorable and sweet. A guide is required for the hike, ensuring you stay on the right path and learn about the local area. The trail itself is quite challenging, often steep and demanding, which can be very tiring and tough on the knees. Having a walking stick is highly recommended to help navigate the rugged terrain. However, the effort is well worth it. The sight of Bomod-ok Falls cascading down into a serene pool is breathtaking and a perfect reward for the hike. The falls is very cold and the water is deep. If you know how to swim, jump into the water to feel refreshed before your trek back. Despite the physical challenge, the experience of reaching the falls and soaking in the natural beauty of Sagada makes it an unforgettable adventure.

It took us less than an hour to reach the falls. The route is cemented but better to wear slippers. The trek to the falls was fairly easy but the trek back was bloody because of the steep uphill battle. Our experience with bomod ok falls was okayish because we wanted to climb up the falls but it was raining during our visit so the water current was strong and dangerous to attempt to climb. On our way back, you can take the orginal route to the drop off point or take a lesser stressful climb. However, you will be charged 300 pesos for the latter route because its somewhat a short cut. Once you reach the top, you will again be paying 500pesos for a jeep ride back to the parking lot

This is a fantastic and scenic area for hiking in Sagada. Some of the best things to see are the Hanging Coffins, Latang Underground River aka Sagada Underground River, and of course the awesome karst formations.

Just magical, the view was mesmerizing and it offers a walkthrough their rich culture. The rock formations, rivers, falls, foods, and coffins shows off their rich tradition and way of living that is something worth visiting. Registration fee: 100 Insurance: 50/1 day Paytokan walk: 1000/10 people

You need to register at the tourist office. Registration is 100p/pax and then you need to hire a guide for 300p for your group. Church also requires a 10p entry fee/pax. The walk is not difficult and has great views of Sagada village. Our guide was well versed and could answer all questions we had about this atypical burial site.

Had a great time at the infamous Echo Valley in Sagada. History-rich in every step you take. At the bottom of Echo Valley, there’s a coffee shop called Baw-eng where the owner sells farm-to-cup coffee beside his coffee farm for PHP 80 per cup. He also sells local handicrafts and cookies.

After visiting the hanging coffins, our tour guide let us continue on our own and visited a coffee shop in the middle of the jungle. We saw more hanging coffins as we walk.

The ‘connecting’ cave tour was the craziest experience I’ve done in my life. BE WARNED! Firstly, the entrance of Lumiang cave is an astonishing historical, spiritual and cultural site with the 300-year-old burial caskets tucked along the side and its crevices. Earthquakes have resulted in broken caskets with human skeletons to be littered further down the entrance. You’ll be walking through these as you enter deeper into the cave. Here’s where you start your Lumiang - Sumaguing cave connector tour. We were NOT warned or informed of what this would be, so we had no clue that we would end up doing something so dramatic, dangerous and mind-blowing. We thought we would just sightsee two caves, but we eventually found out we were in for a CRAZY 3 hour, 3 kilometer, extremely dangerous, cave climb which required squeezing through tiny cracks/crevices to climbing up slippery rocks into certain sections that were 40 story high chambers. All the while underground waterfalls and rivers raged around us. There are at least 3 sections that are life threatening sections where a slip would have resulted in certain death or a fall down the abyss for a casket-less burial. The Lumiang section is the most dangerous and slippery. Once you get through the ‘connector’, a hole in the wall where you’ll be dangling by a rope above a dangerous waterfall chamber, you’ll reach the Sumaguing section which is not so slippery. Once we got out alive, it was one of the most insane and amazing experiences we had done. But do ensure that you are 1. absolutely fit 2. Do not suffer from claustrophobia 3. Do not have any injuries (you’ll need to use all your muscles) 4. Are not overweight (so you will fit through certain sections) 5. Will stay calm when confronted with life-threatening situations If you pass the above, then make sure you have good climbing shoes. And this will be a one of a kind experience.

Both a heritage and adventure visit. A must experience for cultural understanding of how our ancestors live. Less challenging than Sumaguing cave but you can enter Lumiang and exit Sumaguing cave for those who are fit and not claustrophobic.

Lots of fun in the cave. Definitely worth it if your up for some adventure. Some parts were a bit sketchy for sure. just stay focused and dont look down if you're not into hights. (Little caving experience would be nice) did the cave connection tour second cave is easy for beginners aswell.

Our first ever spelunking! Caves also has it's beauty. We were not prepared of the darkness and coldness inside, but it's also enjoyable. You get to experience climbing up rocks using the ropes provided and of course, going/sliding through holes. It was a memorable long-hour journey.

Make Lumiang cave as the entry and Sumaguing cave as your exit. It is a great adventure but it is physically demanding. It requires a lot of scrambling and squeezing through small holes. Just pay attention to your guide as they know best. Your guide will tell you the best way for each hole you pass through. Watch every step as limestones are slippery. Be ready to get wet. Enjoy the bats serenading you from above. Take a lot of photos when you are in sumaguing cave. Have fun but be safe.

Ifugao burial coffins up close and personal. Light to moderate hiking along the trail to the burial cave. Pause and savor the beautiful scenery while trekking. Wear your most comfortable training shoes or hiking sandals.

Perfect place for parking only 50 pesos for the whole day. Then most of the cafe and restaurants are walking distance.

One of the landmarks of Sagada. It’s a nice, relatively new and modern Anglican Church. I can not say it has a great value as a tourist sport, but it is interesting to see.

This is a good spot to visit as the church is very humbling and serene. The inside of the church is really spiritual. It is quiet considering there are many people outside. A must to visit when in Sagada

No need to join a tour or pay any fees to visit the church. Ceiling-to-floor architecture is great. It gave me rustic, solemn vibes. The outdoor scenery is beautiful too despite the heavy rain when we visited the church.

Been not exactly at the lake, but at the sunset observation point at the main road - good place to stay, although one can not exactly observe the sunset there 😃 The eatery is very nice and there is a not bad choice of local food, and even pizza.

Five stars if it's a foggy day. Two stars if it's a sunny day. The fog makes all the difference. So if the rains spoil your Lake Danum sunset experience don't fret, the misty lake experience is more magical than the touristy sunset that's overrated. Just too many people all over the place when it's a clear afternoon they didn't realize the magic of the mists when the rains chase away all the distractions.

this place is still closed until further notice, but you have an alternate place to stay, chill and relax just a little bit walk from here, it's called sagada etagchon, it is an overlooking mini resto that serves good pizza, boodle fight meals, coffee etc.. while viewing the beautiful sunset.

It was an unexpected journey for me to peek into the history, culture and traditions of Sagada, the Igorots, and the famed head hunters of the past. The curator is well versed and witty. A must see destination for tourists who want to delve into the info that you wont learn from Wikipedia.

Simple and very educational, no dull moment. Our group enjoyed it very much!

This was our last tour before our 3 pm bus back to Manila. I wish we started our sagada trip with this instead. Great context and understanding for everything we've experienced and seen in Sagada. 100 pesos per person is well worth it. I dont recommend going at around 530, even if they say they close at 6. We tried going and was told to go the next day.

I love going to museum and learn something about my culture. I love that this museum is full of Igorot culture, I'm sad to learn that the government doesnt support much the tribes and culture of the Igorots. Please visit this museum to help them preserve their rich culture and know a lot about them

I've been to Sagada several times and I only entered this museum on my 5th visit to Sagada. We sit back, listened to the owner's stories behind each artifacts in the museum and learned a lot about the rich history and unique culture of Sagada. I never thought that this small museum will be the highlight of this trip! I highly recommend this if you have time to chill at the town proper. The entrance fee is Php100.

Good collection of artifacts and interesting historic photos relating to tribes in the area but no photography allowed inside for no apparent reason. No flash would be more reasonable. They do have traditional buildings outside where photography is allowed. One of them had a young pig in it.

The Bontoc Museum is a cultural gem in the heart of the Cordillera Region. The exhibit shows different artifacts which showcases tribal weapons, instruments, textiles, pottery and traditional practices. The outdoor museum features the traditional Ifugao huts such as sleeping hut and granary. Visiting the souvenir shop will enhance the cultural immersion. Just visited Bontoc museum for bringing my guest from America since it was not included on our itinerary it's my pleasure to show them the important stuff and research for the Cordileran culture and history. When travelling, always good to visit a museum and learn about the local culture. Could have been better if there was a guide giving a tour. Nonetheless, still okay. Just make sure you prep a 100php bill to pay for the entrance fee. N.B. Strictly no taking of pictures inside the museum. Allowed, however at the within eco-cultural village and souvenir shop.

Lots of history to be learned here. As with moat places in the mountain provinces, parking is scarce. Be prepared to walk uphill. The museum itself is clean with many collections from the early settlers.

Mountain Province is rich in culture. ❤ If you want to know more about the history of the Province, you must not miss this place. 😊 It's not allowed to take pictures inside but you can take some outside the musuem. 😉 Take time to understand and appreciate how life was lived before. ❤ Enjooooy what the place can offer. 😊

On a lucky day, this spot offers a breathtaking view of the famous sea of clouds, making it a must-visit in Sagada for early risers and nature lovers. The temperature can get quite chilly in the early morning, so bringing a jacket is a good idea. It's an easy 30-minute hike from the roadside, making it accessible even for beginners looking for a rewarding trail.

We loved Marlboro Hills! It was a 1 hour hike but it's all worth it! We have availed the Marlboro Hills to Blue Soil which happened to be around 3-5 hours of a total hike all in all. It's very nice! Indeed a must try! We had really fun with this wild adventure!

A small business with 5-6 hand looms. Tremendous, as you can get very close to the weavers. Next door the material is sewn and items are for sale. Would be nice if there was some one to offer information - but still worth an hour visit. Closes for lunch at midday.

Sagada Weaving is a small local shop worth visiting if you’re looking for handwoven wallets, bags, placemats, and other pasalubong items. The quality of their products is impressive—you can see the care and craftsmanship in every piece. Personally, I just wish they offered more modern bag designs to appeal to a wider range of tastes. One nice feature is that you can walk to the back of the shop and see the handlooms used to make their fabric. It’s an interesting glimpse into the weaving process, though it would have been even better if there was someone available to explain more about the craft and history behind it. Parking is available inside the compound, though space is limited. Street parking is also an option nearby. Overall, Sagada Weaving is a great stop for locally made items with a lot of heart and heritage—just a few small touches could make the experience even more engaging.

a must-visit if you want to see authentic local craftsmanship. They’ve been around for decades, producing handwoven bags, clothes, and souvenirs that showcase traditional Cordilleran patterns. You can actually watch the weavers at work, which makes the experience more meaningful. The products are durable, practical, and make for great keepsakes or gifts. A place that preserves culture while supporting local livelihood.

It’s interesting how active the weaving culture is in Sagada. However, I expected more in this place. I wish they could have preserved more of the traditional way of weaving.

I always support local products when I travel locally and abroad. I bought a nice quality made purse & pouch for ‘pasalubong.. and tried the ‘calabasa (squash) chips.. and to my surprise, it’s superb.. healthy snacks. I should have bought more to take home but didn’t really thought much it till later.

Perfect hike for someone who's just chilling. One hour hike to summit of Mt. Kupapey will give you an amazing view of the man made rice terraces.

One of the most, if not the most, beautiful rice terraces in the Philippines. Best to visit on months of May and June when rice fields are in their greenest.

Super spectacular nature, you will be bathed in the pool of green of rice terraces and pine forest. Very enjoyable scenery, by the local traditional, tourists need to keep quiet when walk near to the rice terraces, it makes a very peaceful moment. The trekking trail is quite relaxing, good for beginners hence a must go place in the Philippines

Locals are extremely kind and friendly. Terraces are beautiful. This is a backpackers paradise away from crowded Sagada, Baguio, and Banaue. Will be back!

An amazing spot just a few minutes drive from Bontoc town. Very friendly people everywhere.

From Mt. Kupapey we traversed through Malicgong Rice Terraces. It was 3 hours trekking on the small stones trail. We could not walk on the paddies as they were so soft. The excessive heat of the sun was just unbearable adding up to the steep and narrow trail we were treading on. We reached the summit and it was all worthwhile not just by looking at the magnificent terraces from above the mountain but we were literally walking on the creation itself! At 66, it was a conquer!

If you want to see the full beauty of rice terraces in benguet, probably this is the best scene by far from what I saw from the north. We had like an hour hike to see the view from Mt Fato peak, then walk down to the terraces to see it upfront. The people from the area are also hospitable and were very helpful.

Pongas Falls in Sagada is a hidden gem that rewards adventurers with its tranquil beauty. The falls itself is great and the water is clean. However the trail up to the falls are not really maintained. After you get past the village, it will be a long hike with a lots of damaged concrete structures that can really be dangerous if you slip, and after that is you'll walk the top of a retaining wall that is about 0.20m in width, beside a mountain that can be like 30-50m high from the ground. Some of it are also damaged due to landslide so it's really tricky and dangerous to step on a loose soil or stone. The hike can last for about 45mins to 1hr depending on how experienced the climbers are.

If you love trekking, you must visit this place. Literally, you will walk for 1 hour and half ( in our case). But definitely worthy! The falls itself is a total beauty. Also, we found the best tour guide, so we really enjoyed it.

Great morning hike. Finished it probably around 2 hours. On the way there, you’ll get to see different crops. You’ll also get a glimpse on how the lifestyle looks like on a daily basis as you’ll meet some of the locals along the way. Make sure to watch your step as there are certain parts of the tour where the steps are slippery and narrow. I would recommend wearing something water-proof. Overall, recommended for beginners.

Gotta love this place. The falls up close is truly majestic. Water is cool and perfect during the summer weather. I recommend though going during the off season of July through October. Less people more fantastic photos.

It was a tiring hike but extremely rewarding experience! The nature scene is simply breathtaking!

1 Hr trek thru stone and dirt road, thru locals and farm-life to experience the hidden beauty that sagada has to offer.

Mt Ampacao (1889 m) is south west of town. Our trekking started from the west road (17.091536, 120.888521) and followed south (4 km, 1.30 including a few stops to take photos). It is necessary to allocate additional 20 minutes to climb up the actual Mt. Ampacao from the sunset viewing hill, as the trail is quite steep and slippery. But the view from the top is worth the effort. From sunset viewing hill it is only 1.4 km (45 minutes) to go down to Balugan Road in Pide.

It's a better, quieter sunrise viewing in Mount Ampacao than the super crowded Kiltepan. But you got to climb a slippery slope to get to the peak. A trekking pole will be helpful. There are also leeches so best to wear long pants and sleeves. And bring alcohol too just in case a leech bites you. At the summit is the Sagada Radio Tower and a 360 degree view of all of Sagada!

The climb to Mt. Ampacao took us about 45minutes to the the top. The trail ware quite slippery and steep as you go up the top. The views up there is worth the hike.

Sagada pottery is a craft from Sagada, a town in the Philippines. Local artisans create items like jars and cups using clay, often inspired by their culture and nature. These pottery pieces are functional. Visitors can also learn pottery-making from the skilled potters in Sagada for just Php 100.00. The only downside is that you will not do it alone. The potter will still hold your hand while learning the pottery-making. You can also buy the pottery that you have made. But it’s not cheap.

Place for shopping. The art pieces are beautiful but apparently the selling price is higher than the local standard. Whatever, there is a variety of handmade products available.

Fun to experience making pottery using special clay. Demonstration group fee is ₱600 (8 pax), and ₱100 for hands on experience in making pottery (bowl).

Had great experience unfortunately I'm still waiting on the bowl I made I have contact them several times and they always want to know the date that the bowl was made I give them a day and the time and unfortunately it goes nowhere. I've asked for a refund and I get ignored so worning to all purchase on your own risk.

I love this place! You can learn how to make a bowl in 2 minutes. ☺️ You can either buy it or leave it there. I am a bit possessive so I want to bring mine home. I got to pay a small price for it and wait for 4 months for them to send it to mel. The staff are very accommodating. We love Ardeth! Very talented, patient and funny! Speaks very good English, too! Do not leave Sagada until you pay them a visit!

Best way to get there if you don’t have a car is via trike. It’s a super long walk from Poblacion area. In terms of price, it’s 200 for the demo and 100 per person if you want to try it out! Super fun and sulit activity you should definitely try. The instructor was also very informative and patient
