Great space exploration experience for younger and older kids. There are plenty of educational hands-on exhibits and games. Join the exciting space travel to Mars with missions to complete and the show in the biggest planetarium in the UK (one chosen show is included in the ticket). It's accessible, with lifts, accessible toilets, and changing spaces for kids and adults. The Rocket Cafe is really good with a simple menu, but you can bring your own picnic. Tickets are quite expensive, but you gain a whole year access, so this could be an ideal solution for families, with the option to choose different planetarium shows on each visit. Reserve a minimum 3-4 hours to spend there.
Came here to watch Pink Floyd Dark side of the Moon in the planetarium. The show was one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing atmosphere in the planetarium. The visuals and sounds were perfect. We also had a good look around the space centre itself. Properly cool place with absolutely loads for kids and adults to do and see. Very educational and we will be bringing our kids to have a look. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely do it again
The NSC is an amazingly well curated museum with interactive elements and immersive shows in the Patrick Moore Planetarium inside, shows last 25mins. They even have a real rocket! and you can take a lift to see it from above. It's well suited to kids and adults (we never grow up really) and you can touch space objects and interact with some scientific tools and even play some games to test your astronaut potential! I spent 2ish hours there and there's still more that I didn't get a chance to experience. Tickets were £20 & that gets you an annual pass. The cafe they have is great too, they do hot food and good coffee and even an awesome giftshop! You gotta go :]
The National Space Centre is a fascinating place for both children and adults. It’s especially engaging for Generation Y and millennials, showcasing the Cold War era, the development of technology, and the first steps in space exploration in an immersive way. You can step inside a Mercury capsule, see how astronauts eat and live, and even sit in a period-style room to feel the thrill of watching a rocket launch to the Moon on a vintage glass screen. The planetarium, presented as an animated journey, is truly impressive – even for adults. It’s a wonderful centre for both learning and fun, and the best part is that with just one ticket you can return all year round. Highly recommended! 🚀✨
Where do I start. The place was amazing. The staff and the exhibits were exceptional. So much great information to digest and lots of things for little ones and bigger little ones to do. There were a lot of people in, but it never felt packed. The cinema show was brilliant and way more immersing than we thought it would be. The gift shop had a great collection of toys as well as interesting gifts specific to the Space center. A great day out and it would've recieved 5 stars if it wasn't for the poor cafe that was let down by a lack of choice and the cleaning of the eating/utensil areas which was really poor. The staff serving were great super friendly on all departments but the eating areas were disappointing. Still won't stop another visit to this wondrous place.
Located north of Leicester city centre, the National Space Centre is an amazing day out for kids and adults of all ages. Filled with interactive and educational activities, award winning shows on immersive 360 degree screen, and lots more to see and do. Super helpful and attentive staff, great gift shop, lots of space to sit. Buy ticket online for free annual pass upgrade without hassle. Kids could spend the whole day in here to learn and play. Bring your own lunch to avoid weekend and peak time queues.
This visit has been a long time coming, after trudging the M1 for three decades and seeing the brown sign for the National Space Centre I finally found time to visit, and it was no disappointment in the slightest. Many facts and exhibits tie into loads of classic films, articles and milestones from over the years and lots for the kids to learn about along the way. A great day out and at the moment (summer 2025) the artists elephants are all around Leicester. The planetarium is incredible! Please go and enjoy one of the midlands great attractions that you might have missed.
I been there for first time, lovely place with many different views. I can see there is a plenty space for car parking. Amazing location with foods, and gifts. I was so happy and excited to be there and to be part of this. I will share few videos and photos from this amazing place. Highly recommend.

Modern museum featuring interactive exhibits on King Richard III's life, death & grave discovery.

The museum was very interesting to visit. Children engaged in some quests and looked for the clues everywhere in the different rooms, even in the cafe and the garden. They love this period as they studied it at school. They enjoyed speaking with the guide there about the Richard III, his character, was he a good or evil king?, the mystery of the two nephews in the tower, the story that led to his burial place... The most interesting thing is that the tickets are valid for one year. So if you cannot finish the visit or want to come again you can do so as many times as you like! Keep your tickets safe or the proof of payment confirmation email if you booked online.
A very well thought through visitor centre , with very helpful, staff. Some of the exhibits are amazing, especially the 'interactive exhibits". It explained the 'science of the DNA testing' as well as the archaeology part. The history and circumstances of Richard III that led to him being at Bosworth Field, and the very sad outcome. The shop & cafe are excellent, and the outside courtyard- with beautifully planted flowers and trees are all excellent; with plenty of seating under shading trees. Altogether, the layout of the experience was very good, well thought out. The fact it had air con, all around the tour was also excellent. The tour is on two levels ground floor , and upper floor - which can be reached by a lift , so no problem for wheel chair users. It was a very moving moment to see where they actually found him in the car park; it has been preserved, for posterity, exactly where they found him, this is outside in a very beautiful 'sanctum' covered over with toughened glass. The visitor shop is also excellent, with many interesting gifts and books, on medieval topics, including the Yorks & Tudors.. The entrance "doubles" also as the exit. I am so glad I came, to see this exhibit - finally..!!
A really awesome and well executed piece of history. The museum is amazing and the display which shows the location of Richard’s burial is incredible. There was an amazing volunteer named Julie who explained the full story behind the discovery of Richard. The centre has done an excellent job. It is a must visit for any historian.
This is a fairly new exhibition with good information. It’s not extensive but there’s lots of information upstairs about the discovery of Richard III body. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Very informative and enjoyable visit. Staff were knowledgeable and provided a real insight into the burial of Richard lll and how they found him. We also then walked across the road to visit the cathedral to see his new resting place which complemented the visit to the visitor centre. Had lunch in the cafe which was great. Highly recommend a visit to both.
Loved visiting here. Very well put together and great displays to tell the story of Richard and the project to find him. Special thanks to Jan for her wonderful talk at the grave location about the dig and about the two Princes. A fantastic addition to Leicester
The staff are friendly and helpful the story is interesting but I was kind of left with the feeling that some of the exhibitions were almost unnecessary and making a lot out of nothing really such as a pair of wellies worn but the lady who helped find King Richards grave and even a mask and coverall used to prevent DNA passing from the person who removed the bones to the skeleton of Richard ...hardly anything of note regards historical artifacts asides part of the greyfriars abbey walls and floor tiles under a glass floor ! Whilst informative in places not the best museum I've visited .
Brilliant, but not for kids. There is more to read than to see. However, it is certainly not boring for someone interested in history or for a person who is curious and keen to discover new things. And once done, you are right by the cathedral and the pedestrian streets full of interesting shops, restaurants, and major brands outlets.

Visited the Curve to watch SIX the Musical. Seated in the circle, I don't think anyone had a bad view. Great performance, staff on hand to help. Drinks in the cafe before the show were fairly reasonable prices. Merchanise available too. Parked next door and had ticket validated and paid for in the curve for a rate of 7.95. Overall we had a great time.
Fantastic! I love the curve theatre, the staff are always really helpful and the shows I've seen there have been brilliant. This time I saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which was absolutely amazing. The theatre isn't massive, so it feels like anywhere you sit you get good views. This time I was near the front, but for the previous show I saw, we were near the back and it still felt like you were close to the stage and in good seats. Would definitely recommend.
What a fantastic place. Very jealous that our nearest town does not have anything like this. Very clean. It is well signposted, toilets, bar, reception, box office etc. Carpark is next door NCP. Access card accepted for disabled allowing a complimentary carer. Just a nice place to be. We saw Ghost Stories, via door 3 and the theatre was well laid out and comfortable.
The Bat Out Of He'll show was good. The Theatre the air conditioning was not working when it was a full show I found this very uncomfortable. I had a job to keep a awake . This should not be the case . I spoke to a usher about how uncomfortable and hot it was . She said there was air conditioning under the seat . I got light wide leg trousers on I didn't feel any. My husband said that usher said normally the air conditioning comes from the ceiling because the show full it was not working. JUST BONKERS SPOILT THE SHOW FOR ME .
What a lovely theatre. The staff here are so nice, friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful right next to the theatre. There a plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. That's if you don't want to eat at the theatre's own eatery. The views from the seats in the stalls were fantastic. It was almost like being on stage. A fabulous visit.
Travelled all the way from Londn to see the show. Great theatre. Will definitely go back
Visited as a group of three to watch Kinky Boots, the seats were very comfy and the view was really good. It’s a very modern theatre, you walk around the entirety of the stage and several toilets and bars are dotted around. The toilets were very clean and the bar staff were quick to serve me- for two soft drinks and a large wine it was £13.00. I look forward to coming back. There is a car park right next to the theatre.
Went to see Muriels Wedding. Really enjoyed this production at the Curve, good sound quality and set, liked the round stage. Nice and spacious theatre, staff friendly and really helpful. Left a pair of glasses there. Thankfully the housekeeping found them so they are now returned to us, thank you 😊. We live quite a distance from the Curve, it is not our nearest theatre, but would definitely come back to see another production as it was a lovely experience.

Leicester Cathedral is a truly special landmark, rich in history and spiritual significance. Located in the heart of the city, the cathedral dates back over 900 years. Its most renowned feature is the tomb of King Richard III, whose remains were discovered nearby in 2012 and reinterred here in 2015 after a state ceremony. The building itself showcases stunning Gothic Revival architecture, and recent renovations have made the space more accessible while preserving its sacred atmosphere. The calm interior, impressive stained-glass windows, offer a peaceful and enriching experience. Friendly volunteers are always available to answer questions, and the tranquil cathedral gardens provide a lovely space to sit and reflect, Leicester Cathedral is a must-visit destination in the city.
Leicester Cathedral is not large, but is very well kept. The tomb of English King Richard 3rd is superbly done with two stones which both relate to his life. The newly-added visitor room is styled to complement the main cathedral. Guides on-site were friendly and informative.
Went to see a model of Mars which was brill also king Richard third was there. An unusual cathedral as it did not have an isle with seating either side leading to an altar. Entry was a donation of £5 if you wanted to.
I really enjoyed my visit to Leicester Cathedral. It wasn't built as a cathedral, and it is moderately small - it was elevated in 1927 when the diocese of Leicester was recreated. For me, the highlight wasn't the tomb of King Richard III, but the stained glass window by Christopher Whall which overlooks it. I was also pleased to see two windows by Thomas Denny commemorating the life and death of Richard III. The staff were all friendly, helpful & informative. There was a small shop near the entrance/exit where I bought some nice postcards.
The final resting place of England’s greatest king. It was a very special moment visiting Richard’s final resting place. The Cathedral is beautiful, with many colours on the ceiling. It is free unlike many other cathedrals around the country.
Visited the Cathedral and King Richards tomb today. Had a fantastic experience which was made even better thanks to the volunteer guide Pam Willis who was very knowledgeable with regards the story of Richard the 3rds discovery and his reburial in Leicester Cathedral. Visited the cafe 7 which was reasonably priced and on a bitterly cold day was a warm sanctuary providing a quality coffee and cake . Would recommend a visit for anyone interested in the history of the War of the roses and it's all free asides a small voluntary donation.
Lovely evening in the cathedral with the light show it was fantastic
Although it's one of the Famous & Beautiful Tourist attraction in Leicester, but The Church⛪️ really had a Pleasant and Peaceful atmosphere inside. Our heart gets warm & alleviation when we enter into the Church, such a Blessed feel✨❤️ We went yesterday with our family, we had a delightful experience there❤️ We met a Rev there, He blessed our children and us though 😇 Really recommend to everyone. Worth the visit for everyone who liked to visit kirks⛪️ & wants to have some peaceful atmosphere for prayers. I'll definitively give 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful place. The birds are kept beautifully. I used to keep parakeets, and it helps if you can handle them. They love their keepers. There is a big free flying area which is delightful. Where there are enclosures, they're done so well. The birds are happy, and so are the visitors. Lovely place. If I was more local, I'd be there all the time!
Amazing place. It was raining while we have been there but still well spent money. Whole visit took us around 1h30m. Ticket for senior was £10,25 and for adult £13,95. Free off road parking with toilets on the car park and inside. Lots of "washing hands" places. Bag of treats, including worms, nuts, seeds and fruits cost us £6 which i think was a good and reasonable price. Staff was very polite and friendly. There was always somebody available if needed. Wasn't too busy as our visit was on Tuesday when was raining but can't complain about this. We made 182 photos and 13 videos. Great experience and great memories. The place looks like is wheelchair friendly (but please double check). There was also small playground for the kids. So in few words: yes, the place is well worth to visit.
Travelled here from North Wales. So wasn't far of a 6 hour round trip. So glad we came here. Not the biggest of places but there's enough there. We spent 4 hours here. Could have spent longer. Staff were friendly and helpful. All the aviaries appeared to be in good condition and everywhere seemed clean. The parrot path where you can feed and handle the birds is great, the staff were also really helpful and knowledgeable. Capybara and meerkats also there. Cafe was also really good. If we lived closer I'd definitely get a membership. Definitely recommend visiting. May visit in the future to do the wild experience.
Fantastic place. The birds are so well looked after and there is lots of opportunity to interact with them. Lovely woodland setting with a walk through the woods too. Nice cafe and shop. Really reasonably priced, and such a tranquil setting. We will definitely be returning. Staff all super friendly and helpful with lots of knowledge about the birds and animals in their care. Well worth a visit. If you have kids there is also a play area and an under cover area if you take a picnic.
A beautiful oasis of colourful feathered friends. Cafe food fantastic and the staff are very helpful and friendly too. The cakes are all hand-made each morning and absolutely delicious. Great day out for the little ones with a large play area so mums and dads can sit and rest a while. Can not recommend a visit to this beautiful hidden gem enough. Please be aware that online booking is essential during July and August.
This place is absolutely stunning and amazing value for money. Everything is well maintained. There's so much to see and do in here that it's hard to believe they only charge £11.50 for an adult entry. Apart from a variety of animals, mainly all sorts of birds, they also have nice playground for children and a very clean restaurant with outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area can be used to consume own food brought from outside. All the staff is friendly and very helpful. Will be definitely revisiting shortly.
Absolutely brilliant! Killed a few hours in the way home. Great cafe and loads of information about the birds available. In the main viewing areas the birds are free to come and go as they please. Lovely to see them so free.
We went there today (Sunday) and to be honest, I wasn't expecting much, but how wrong could I be! At the time of writing this, it was just under £15 for an adult and £10 for a child. We booked online. I think you can pay on the day, but only off peak times. We arrived around 11, which seemed just about right. Realistically, this is a 2-3 hour day out. We also stopped for about 30 minutes to have something to eat and for the kids to have a play in the playground. You can buy bird food; £2 for a bag of nuts and £6 for a mixed bag, which includes a bag of nuts, a bag of mixed fruit, a tub of meal worms and some seeds. The problem buying the big bag is that you still have loads of food left over at the end, as the birds are constantly getting fed! You follow a kind of one way system (although you can go any you want) and you'll get to see everything. As well as the normal cages with birds in, you can also go in the aviaries that are scattered about and if you're lucky, the birds will come to you and will walk all over you! The best certainly was kept until last. Just before you leave, there is a big open area with absolutely loads of birds just perched everywhere. Thousands of colours and beautiful birds. It was amazing. From there you can either go to the gift shop or exit. The gift shop is quite small, but it has some nice things in it, all to do with Birdland and not just random stuff. So from not expecting much, it was a wonderful few hours out. We all loved it and there definitely will be going again.

I had a wonderful visit to Leicester Museum and Art Gallery. The museum offers a variety of exhibits, ranging from ancient history and natural science to fine art and local heritage. The dinosaur skeletons and Egyptian and Sumerian artifacts were particular highlights both educational and visually stunning. The layout is easy to follow, and the displays are well-organized with informative labels. It's clear that a lot of care has gone into preserving and presenting the collections. I also enjoyed the art galleries upstairs, which featured both classical and contemporary works. The museum is free entry.
Absolutely fantastic 👏 We rondomy decided had a look others reviews we thought lets give a try didn't seem anything too much. BUT we where pretty impressed. A lot for kids also designed to make them pay attention on details. Well done 👏 Definitely recommend. 😇 P.s. my pre teen was apparently too big for doing Elmars trails. So I did instead. I loved it. 😍
Leicester Museum and Art Gallery is a great museum that exceeded our expectations. Immaculately clean with beautifully curated exhibits, it offers something for everyone. The dinosaur displays immediately grabbed my attention, complete with engaging interactive stations that made learning fun. The museum also features great play areas, including a dressing-up section where you can snap photos in front of an art frame for those who like that kind of thing. Upstairs, the snake exhibit was a real highlight, complete with fun weight scales and surprise snake facts. The helpful staff enhanced the experience, and the free entry is a huge bonus. There’s also a nice gift shop worth a visit. While there’s no on-site parking, nearby city car parks are just a 10 minute walk. Overall A enjoyable and educating outing.
Leicester Museum and Art Gallery is located in 53 New Walk, Leicester LE1 7EA. It is free. On the day of our visit, we could explore the world of dinosaurs, fossils, rocks, collections of paintings from Germany, stories of Leicester, Ancient Egyptian mummies, etc. We enjoyed the creation of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant by David McKee, which was exhibited in Leicester. We drew our own characters and coloured the picture of Elmer. There are vending machines with snacks and drinks and tables where you may have a rest. There is also a souvenir shop. Thank you for your service.
Pretty decent museum to touch a piece of ancient history. Seems well maintained, not much to see unfortunately but there is no entry fee.. which is not bad
Amazing free museum, great for dates, with kids or alone. I've been coming to this place since I was a child and it's a gem of Leicester!
This is not the first time I’ve visited Leicester museum and art gallery. It’s a lovely little trip out for the day and the kids seem always love the dinosaurs 🦕. Interesting and nice museum to visit for all ages. They do different events during some of the months which gives it a new lease of life when you pay it a visit . The event that’s was on , on our last visit was about snakes which i and my grandson throughly enjoyed. There’s interactive areas for children , small play bit . And the mummy’s always seem of interest to the young minds even my grandson who’s a toddler . Cafe area isn't the best as it machine coffee but has a lovely seating area .

Amazing performance. It was beautiful to listen to and to watch, it was very well thought out and practiced. You could see the dedication and the emotion in the performers. I would 100% go again, I loved every second. The staff were also very nice and friendly and helped out a lot.
Absolutely amazing experience and such a friendly brilliant musicians!! We went on Friday we got to speak to them briefly at the end, we loved their energy and it was the best experience ever. Thank you!! Lovely audience and created powerful atmosphere ranging between joy and nostalgia. Highly recommend it and will be going back soon again. Thank you for making it so memorable and perfect evening for us ❤️
Such a lovely experience. The initial entering prices was seamless and only took around a minute or so, our tickets were scanned and we were taken to our seats. We had come a bit earlier and there were already people there. The group set up and we were introduced to them. The entire set was beautiful from beginning to end. Definitely recommend.
Lovely old hall. Previously visited for a wedding which was lovely. This time it was for a string quartet concert. Simply lovely
Lovely small museum next to the Cathedral cafe. Helpful, friendly staff. Dog friendly
A thoroughly enjoyable evening listening to a highly talented string quartet perform the best of Hans Zimmer amongst beautiful candle light! Just wish it lasted for longer though!

This is the Home ground for the Leicester City football club men's team. It's located in the city centre and easily accessible by bus or train if coming from out of town. I had the pleasure of visiting it of recent for a Premier League match against Brighton and the atmosphere was electrifying. I definitely did enjoy my time here and can't wait to be back.
Access to the stadium was really easy, there is plenty of paid parking areas around the stadium and much like any of the other “flat pack stadiums” the facilities inside cover the basic needs. Views are good in my experience and the club try their best to generate some atmosphere during what’s a difficult time for Leicester City. Impressed with the club shop, plenty of merch including some great retro kits.
Great atmosphere to see one of the GOAT playing his final game. Very local stadium. Close to the pitch. Worth to take a look if you are a fan of Leicester City champion season
If you are driving it’s best to turn off about a mile to 2 miles to park. Good views from inside the stand. Plenty of food bars around the ground all run by Dick Turpin. At least he worn a mask. Even more expensive inside the ground.
One of the best stadiums and teams in the premiership. Great to see Leicester supporting families by having friendly tickets prices for younger supports. The other big EPL clubs should take note!
Visited the Kingpower Stadium to watch Leicester City play Liverpool in the Premier League. Stadium was neat and the facilities looked relatively new. Access was relatively easy, one just had to navigate to the appropriate turnstile (all clearly signposted). No long queues, despite a security check (scanning) and I was at my seat within a few minutes. I sat in the Home Fans section, so I had to keep my Liverpool scarf out of sight. Later discovered that several people in the same section did the same thing. All in all, a nice outing, especially as we won. Sad that City were relegated on the day, though
Modern stadium with good viewing but dreadful home atmosphere, as an away fan it's OK, good burger outside between away entrance and club shop.
Decent away stand seat and view. I was fairly close to the pitch. We were allowed to stand. The stadium staff were friendly enough. I took the 88A Saffron bus from Haymarket bus station. The journey took about 15 minutes. Programs are sold outside the stadium. The atmosphere inside the stadium was a bit quiet, though there was a drum in one of the home stands. Overall, not a bad stadium at all.

Concerts & Shows
Big, neo-classical entertainment venue showcasing pop groups, tribute bands, pianists and musicals.
Slide 1 of 8
It is a great venue for concerts and other kind of events. I have attended The Cult and Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bell. Good sound and excellent facilities. There is a also pub inside the venue with reasonable prices. The whole experience felt like a service to keep you entertained rather than one for generating cash.
Here with my wife for the Marillion Weekend 2025. Decent seats that are not too squashed together. Good acoustics and a good stage. There is a good view of the stage from all seats that we could see. Would definitely recommend for gigs etc.
Good range of performances. We especially like there being original performers rather than an excess of tribute acts. Good car park but should be booked at the same time you book your tickets. Comfortable seating and a good view from all the places we have sat. A lovely atmosphere.
De Montfort Hall: where the acoustics are crisp, the architecture is grand, and the seating mysteriously makes your legs feel shorter than you remember. We were there to see the one and only Tim Minchin – lyrical wizard, barefoot philosopher, and piano-bashing genius – and the venue delivered a five-star experience before he’d even touched a key. From the moment you step into the hall, there’s a sense of old-school grandeur, like the walls are politely pretending not to judge your pre-show snack choices. The staff were friendly, the bar was surprisingly efficient (rare at a live venue – we didn’t even have to form a passive-aggressive queue!) and the buzz in the room was electric. And then came Tim. Smart, silly, sweary and brilliant as ever, commanding the stage like a man conducting a symphony with equal parts emotional depth and musical chaos. The sound system held up perfectly – every heartfelt note, every whip-smart lyric and every well-timed F-bomb came through with spine-tingling clarity. Even the lighting felt like it had its own sense of humour. The audience, a sea of joyful nerds and musical misfits, laughed, cheered, and possibly wept (although that may have been us during Tim’s new song, “Peace”). The whole night was a glorious reminder of how powerful a live performance can be when the artist is magnetic and the venue gives them room to shine. De Montfort Hall, we tip our slightly ironic hats to you. Long live the old theatres with great sound, comfy-enough seats, and just enough faded glamour to make you feel like you’re part of something big. Would go again in a heartbeat. Especially if Tim’s involved.
Loved this venue, I'm not so nibble on my feet at the moment, but here I was able to park up right next door at the Victoria carpark and several restaurants were within easy walking distance, brilliant... The venue itself was easy to navigate and if you book the right seats it is step free too. The seating was modern, large and comfortable. My only one small gripe was towards the end of the performance the auditorium got a little warm, a few other people commented on the way out about the heat too, so it wasn't just me having a man flush...🙈 But I would definitely book again!!
This has been a major venue in Leicester for what must be 100years or more, many famous groups and singers have strutted their stuff in what is acoustically a really good venue which I have attended over the years and if it was good enough for Bowie it must be good 😊
Great concert level 42 sounds and lighting was brilliant good parking best to per book drinks was reasonable nit much queuing staff were great lovely venue 😀
If you arrive early enough you'll find genuinely convenient parking at a realistic price that will afford you a quick getaway after your event. Comfortable seating, well managed refreshments in both the lobby and the concert hall. Relaxed, friendly attendants

A great museum just opposite the space centre where parking is available. Very fascinating to walk round. Would definitely return for an event day. Free entry on non event days although donations are welcome and happily donated.
The enormous steam pumps are very impressive and the grandeur of the architecture amazing for a sewage pumping station but it was all lost on my grandchildren I think they were a bit too young to appreciate it. We enjoyed our walk around and they really liked the play area but I think they would have liked it more on an open day when there's a lot going on. Anyone into engineering or sanitation would love it here.
Went to the Pumping station you have to park at the space museum next door but its not a long walk. The pumping station is really interesting and there is lots to look at in the pump house. The best part for us was once we left the museum and walked across the courtyard we were grabbed by Mick who took us into the Classic vehicle shed and there really are some hidden gems in there. Several fire engines from various decades going back to the 30s and beyond. Old double decker buses. And even an old WHS Smiths. Well worth a visit if you can catch them when they're open. Mick was Brilliant. Its all run by volunteers hence the strange opening hours. But well worth a visit.
This is the next place you must see while you are visiting Leicester. Near National Space Centre. While you approach Pioneer Statue behind, you can see a massive digger from the past century by the main gate. This is the place...Industrial collection of machines and items used it everyday life 100 years ago and more. You can see one of the first electric cars inside the building , how works toilet, how tram works , etc. Great interaction between visitors and exhibits. Excellent place for family day. No admission fee . Recommended
Small but interesting museum, worth it to stop by if you happen to head to the space centre.
“Don’t think about breaking into the pumping station because it’s useless because there isn’t any one there.” Comment from dissatisfied child. Terrible website. Arranged to take a child down as checked on Google that it was open. Sadly this was not the case. A very disappointed child (& adult).
Very well presented museum, covering Leicester industrial history, and of course the magnificent quartet of steam engines in the engine hall. And it's mostly free !! Victorian engineering - built to last, and to look good too. Although the pump engines weren't running the narrow guage steam train outside was working, providing rides. Also a small model steam train layout, 'Forget me Not' railway - a pleasure for boys of all ages. You park next door in the Space Centre, £4 for the day, and there's a walkway from the car park to the APS site - so easy to get to.
Big thank you to Mike, one of the volunteers who took the time to show me round the shed today. Many thanks Mike for all the information about the old buses & vehicles. You made my visit to Leicester all the better! I would recommend anyone to take the time out of there day to visit this small museum, very enjoyable. Super friendly staff.

Enjoyable evening watching The Tigers play against Munster. Good selection of fast food and enjoyed the novel drinks from dispensers on the wall. Went by train and walk from station around 15 minutes and straight forward
A "must do" visit for any sports fan. Attended Welford Road Leicester Tigers v Sale Sharks,English Premiership Semi-Final. Ground is a straightforward 10 minute walk South of Leicester Railway Station & City Centre. Arrived at the ground well over an hour before kick off and since the club sets up bars & live music in front of the New Main Stand (Tradeview Markets Stand) the entrance was heaving with fans of both clubs. Club Shop was doing some brisk business but was a little too crowded for my liking! Ticket was for the Old Stand (Breddon Stand) Had problem scanning my mobile phone ticket at Turnstile 25 but was advised to goto nearby gate where a steward with a hand scanner sorted it out straight away. Would recommend people goto the toilet before walking to the ground since the narrow concourse that divides the Breddon Stand lower open terrace and upper seating deck was restricted in part with a queue for the mens toilet. Lovely welcome from the stewards at the top of the steps when walking up into the Breedon Stand's seating deck. This stand is very much a throwback to pre-Taylor Report days, having a wooden deck and a series of long benches with the seat space painted on them. The stand has a row of columns along its lowest row of seating however they are marked as such when you purchase tickets online. My seat in Row A Block R was £35 for this game. One drawback to the columns and fans standing on the open terrace below is that it was not posable from my position to see the far right corner of the pitch in front of the Mattilo Woods Stand. However,a large video screen at the rear of the Europacar Stand offers fans the tv angle of the game and a few fans were looking at this during play that enters this blindspot. Stewarding was excellent throughout the game and their was a brillant atmosphere with Tigers & Sharks fans mixing together in all parts of the ground. Will go again next season though i think i will give the Breddon Stand a miss next time!
Absolutely loved this place. Perfect views of the match. Food is typical for a stadium (gourmet burger was £10 but was delicious). Drinks similarly priced so expect higher than normal. The stadium was worth it and very easy to exit at the end of the match.
Lots of toilets, options for food and drink, and there's the club store. There aren't stations to refill water bottles, just in case people didn't know/realise. You can buy water for £3 inside.
Treated to a great game today which always helps. We were there as part of the mascot experience and it's safe to say that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it - as did I as her accompanying adult. The staff at Welford road who facilitated this did a great job. If I were being picky, there could be a better choice of beers on the bar and they could make better use of links to Everard's to promote local commerce, but I appreciate need to appeal to the tastes of a broad range of people. However, service was good at the food bars and fairly speedy given the volume of people to serve. All in all, a great game day experience.
Clean, staff helpful, amazing atmosphere. Home of legends
If you love your rugby, this is the church of the world famous Leicester Tigers . Great atmosphere and proper day out. Forgot the footballers who get paid millions. This is a real sport. Walking distance from the train station and a few pubs if you're coming from the city centre.....what you waiting for !!! Come on you tigers
I've been there for an anime event. The venue was easy to reach with public transport, well organized despite the crowd, with plenty of room for vendors, panels and movie projection. And a lovely A/C that worked magic in yesterday heat!

Attended the Billy Bates Fun fair on Abbey Park (12th July - 25th Auguy) and for only £1 had a few hours of great fun. No kids, just me and my better half (kids trapped in adult bodies). The rides were reasonably priced and the most expensive was £4 per adult and half that for kids. There was plenty of unhealthy snacks and food and plenty for the kids to do. Parking was a nightmare and we had to park on Belgrave Road and walk, but it only took 5 mins, so no real problem. I highly recommend the fun fair for adults AND families!
Probably the best park in Leicester as its relatively close to the city centre making it easily accessible from the bus and train stations. There is parking but not too many spaces making if difficult to find a space during busy times. The park is set in lovely surroundings and has parts of the old Abbey there for people interested in history. Has tennis courts, well manicured flowers section, a Chinese themed garden area, a river running through with wildlife. Also has plenty of green space, miniature railway, children's playground, outdoor gym equipment, cafe and close to a artificial football pitches for hire centre. The animal corner with variety of animals is a favorite for children along with the ice cream vans dotted around the park.
What an interesting place Leicester is to visit. I started my visit by parking near to the gates of Abbey Park which is free parking and unlimited. Then a walk through the park of around 20 minutes to the City centre. You can view the remaifoundotions of the Abbey and walk around them. Leicester is a very interested multi cultural city. With a vibrant market and a pleasant shopping centre it's well worth a visit.
I went to the Leicester Food Festival at Abbey Park, it was my first time experiencing this kind of event, and I absolutely loved it! The combination of delicious food, live music, and the fun fair made it such an enjoyable day. We had so much fun and it was a wonderful outdoor experience overall.
Lovely park always clean and litter free , Beautiful flower gardens, great play area for kids of all ages , nice little pets corner , can always find something to do to keep kids busy, after years of going to this park I only just discovered the apple orchard recently and it's great.
Abbey Park is a big city park in Leicester. Facilities are good and convenient to people. I like to spend my leisure time there.
Lovely place to visit. Something for everyone. Adult outdoor gym, pets corner, cafe, ice cream van, birds, flowers to appreciate and children's playground. Lots of green space
Lovely green park. Suitable for picnics, cycling, dog walking, casual ball games. We fed the ducks and the geese. Lacks a toddler playground with swings and slides - but you won’t miss those artificial elements here.

Visited during the 2nd weekend of march. The garden is not in full bloom yet but it’s starting to get pretty with spring flowers. A lot of benches in the park along the walkway to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. Very beautiful pond there with a lot of big fish.
Sometimes, perhaps when you have just started work you don't realize how important these green spaces really are. Personally we lived over the road from the Botanic gardens in our first house and we hardly ever went in there to look around and now after retiring I can't believe how many really good Parks and Leicester Botanical gardens we have to look around. Super place that it is,desperately needs rain though like everywhere else we have visited in the last few weeks, but well done by staff for doing a great job. 👍
I visited Leicester Botanic Gardens for about an hour with my kids. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place to walk around, though being Bank Holiday Monday the greenhouses were closed, which was a shame. There’s no café or information desk, so unlike other botanic gardens I’ve visited (like Birmingham’s), you don’t have anywhere on site to sit down for a drink or snack. I’d definitely recommend bringing a packed lunch or picnic as there aren’t any shops nearby. Overall though, it’s a lovely spot and worth a visit. Unfortunately I didn't take many photos.
I recently visited the gardens, on a nice sunny day. It was a lovely, calm, serene place. There are many beautiful species of flora here. It was wonderful to see the southern magnolia in full bloom, with flowers as big as my hand and face. The only downside was the greenhouse closing times and the rude manner in which a staff member spoke to me, hence 4 stars. I phoned in advance to ask if the glasshouses were open as this was my main reason to visit. Showing my daughter the special cacti housed here. The switchboard told me it would be asscesible till closing at 5pm. Unfortunately this was not the case, they were mistaken. The glasshouses closed at 3pm. 10 minutes before we arrived. When I approached the lady licking them up, she was rather rude with an irritated air to her voice, telling me i was wrong and the switchboard wouldn't have said this and that she has to go. She made me feel like a nuisance when I had planned ahead and been given the wrong information. No people skills at all. The acers here are beautiful, some in need of a prune but overall it's a lovely place for a picnic and relax. This place is good for mental health reasons, it helps to make you feel like you're out of the city for a bit. Thanks
Visited the botanical gardens in spring and had a lovely experience. While there weren’t a huge number of flowers in bloom just yet, the gardens were beautifully laid out and thoughtfully maintained. The blossom trees and bluebells added a nice seasonal touch, and the pond with koi fish was a peaceful highlight. A tranquil spot to enjoy nature, even in the earlier part of the season.
Had a great Plant sale and Family event on last Sunday. Beautiful gardens with all kinds of plants and trees. Will come again soon.
Wonderful place to visit, went with family last week. The garden is beautifully maintained with a lovely variety of flowers and greenery. The peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. We especially loved the fish pond — it was so calming to watch the big fishes swimming around. A great spot for families and anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. Highly recommended!

So we were here 2 weeks ago and I actually enjoyed it. A lot of shops. Really good food on the outsides & I'm definitely going to come back here again. It was clean. There was a good vibe. Security was good. You felt safe. And the parking was cheap. I thought it was going to be crazy but no it was cheap. Four stars yes five stars. No not just yet. If it was like a 4.5 system then I would give you that.
You can find most of the brands and stores, also there is a prey room there thank them for that but would be better if they put some carpet inside..
Great, modern shopping centre with pretty much everything you could want. It's well kept, clean and security actively walking around. It also makes a lovely change from some of the outdoor shopping areas, which are scruffy and filthy and clearly no pride taken from shop owners, what a shame! Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this shopping centre.
Highcross Leicester is a modern shopping centre with a huge range of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. It's always clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. Parking is convenient, and the atmosphere is vibrant, perfect fora day out or just browsing your favourite brands.
Great shopping center, however the lad in the sercurity team is the problem, an absolute jobsworth. Physically put his hands on me for being on skates, I did not know that skates were not allowed and was actually greeted by cleaning staff as I entered the center. He should have just spoken to me instead of being aggressive and actually pushing against my arm and chest. I wasn't skating at pace nor was I making a nuisance, I skate because it is easier on my knee to get around than walking due to a previous injury I have suffered. But because of this previous injury I was told to leave the center in an aggressive manner.
It’s amazing place to visit especially with family. Lot of shops and many places to eat . Really liked my 2 hours stay there, lot of parking spaces
Some great shops here, but in all honesty couldn’t wait to get out of the place. Young lads all wearing masks and balaclavas everywhere just looking like absolute thugs, both me and my mother felt very intimidated and on edge, felt like you’d get robbed at any given chance. High street is full of weird men leering at women and homeless/drug addicts laying around. Was like walking through a dirty slum. I’ll pass next time!

It's was such a beautiful morning again as it has been all week so far. I go with my friend and our 4 dogs. We are walking to help our own health as well as our dogs health. We meet lots of other people and dogs every day and a great incentive to increase our steps is Bada Bean Coffee Truck in the Car Park. The Coffee made by Paul is consistently perfect. I have a Caramel Latte and it's creamy and beautiful texture and flavour tantalise my taste buds every single time I have it. He does other types of coffee and teas, hot chocolate and other drinks too and a variety of delicious cakes. If you haven't tried any of his drinks you are definitely missing out on a very delicious beautiful experience. It really spurs us on to walk further and helps power my journey back to the car. It also pays to just be quiet for a few moments to hear the birds singing. We listened to a Robin today. It's song is intricate and very tuneful. And that makes my heart and soul feel so great full and happy to be there. Very calming to the mind. I have been achieving my 10,000 steps in just a couple of hours.
We visited Watermead Country Park on a very warm day (30C). It was a very nice park with plenty of walking trails, small lakes, picnic areas, benches and country birds. It was very well maintained. There are no bins available; you are asked to take your rubbish home (which we did). We struggled to find any toilets. We checked the maps on the boards. They showed no toilets. We had to cut our visit short because of this.
Beautiful park with some lovely views of the lake. It’s a peaceful and pleasant place to enjoy nature and wildlife. A good path that goes around the lake, and there is a trail that goes through the woods. Great place for a picnic. Good parking and toilets. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely place for a leisurely walk. Dog friendly. Plenty of open spaces and paths throughout the park to follow. Adventure trails and factual boards across the park. Even found a tortoise! 🐢
Great breath of fresh air within a city. All flat and easy to access. Walked around 7 miles around it, great steps.
Nice Park, its quite big aswell so lots to explore, lots of green area to, nice place to cycle, walk or walk your dog down to, would recommend 🙂
Lovely park and lake. Brilliant walk with lost of paths and options
Lovely place to visit, we visited end of November for an autumn walk and will definitely return in the summer months. Lots of things to see and do along various walks. Kids enjoyed the activities and sculptures, which kept their interest in the walk Great place for a dog walk too
