I checked the café’s website before coming — looked through the menu and prices, and everything seemed fine. When I arrived (after paying for parking), I was surprised to see that the breakfast mains were around $10 more expensive than what was shown online.
I asked to speak to the manager, Tony, and explained the situation. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he refused to match the price, saying it wasn’t their fault that they forgot to update the website. I was honestly shocked by both his tone and attitude.
It’s unacceptable for a business to advertise one price online and charge something completely different in person — and then blame the customer for noticing. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place

After dining here more than once, we found the coffees and the dishes from the menu to be consistently satisfactory. I highly recommend getting the toasted Ham and Egg Sandwich from the cabinet, it was ridiculously tasty and deliciously cheesy!

We ordered mini breakfast and kumara and feta fritter with salmon, and they were great. Poached eggs were perfect. Pecan pie was a bit on the sweeter side, but it's still good. All my friends got fairly well sized portions when ordering chicken salads and pulled pork sandwiches. I ordered the hash stack with salmon and got a hilariously small portion, especially when plated next to everyone else.
A single, lonely egg perched on my stack next to a quarter of an avocado (the menu says 1/2) along with a sliver of smoked salmon hidden between my hash browns. This size was not remotely reflected in the price.

French toast very nice, though bacon could be cooked in smaller pieces. Hot chocolates are also good. Need heating would be great on these cold days, please turn heaters on up on wall. Staff could be alot friendlier.

First cafe that I could get avocado and salmon without having to pay extra but hollandaise wasn't the best but still ok. Huge portions made it that much more enjoyable. Would of loved to have given more stars, but the service I experienced yesterday was awful. No service with a smile, rude, abrupt and not attentive towards a customer. Staff member behind the counter forgot to add an item onto my order, luckily picking this up before payment. Ive been here twice in the last week on a trip to Whangarei. Lovely friendly staff who greet you with a smile. They obviously know their regulars and seem busy with the locals but not overcrowded. Lots of selection for food in the cabinet and on the menu - something to suit everyone's tastes. I love the scones and the coffee was really good!

I decided to order the chicken caesar salad for my lunch and decided to phone it in so it could be ready when my lunch half hour started.
