It was only the third venue we looked at, but we knew it was the one. One of our top reasons for choosing this venue was the indoor and outdoor spaces available. We chose to have the ceremony and the dinner in the courtyard and the cocktail hour and dancing inside the ballroom. Next to the ballroom is also an adjacent tea room so throughout the evening there was plenty of space for our guests to flow and move about. We had a small wedding of only 50 people, but we definitely see how twice as many people would comfortably fit as well. The staff, Ani & Jose, were both so easy to work with and very accomodating. Between the venue and the caterer we hired, we did not have to find any outside rental vendors which made planning so much easier. The venue does require you to have at minimum a day of wedding coordinator, but honestly we are soooo glad we did have a coordinator. It made our lives so much easier and we were actually able to enjoy our day. We found out later that the venue and our coordinator worked together to solve a couple of hiccups during the event, but we were none the wiser to any of it! I have received some pretty dirty looks because of my daughter who has a disability and my baby who still makes noises during service. I tried going to the nursing room but it’s too cold/hot (the door is always open) and has no place to sit and is completely isolated from church. I can’t hear what’s going on if I’m in there with my child and don’t know when the Eucharist is being received. I don’t want to open the humongous door just to see what’s going on every few minutes. The last time I went there with my family, we all walked into the cry room and just left because there was nothing we could do in there. I love this church. I want to go back so badly, but I can’t. It’s not made for families with small children, let alone my daughter who has a disability. I’m writing this with the hope that someday things will be different.

(원문) This is a wonderfully warm and kind place to pray, worship or even just to stop in and have a chat with any of the Pastoral Staff or other staff, volunteers or even other guests. The people are genuinely warm, caring and even open to anyone that walks through their front doors. They all seem like they want to get to know you and even help you if needed. I have been to many churches, Catholic, Methodist, Church of Christ, and even a Latter Day Saints churches for worship, most of which I tried at least three times before I made my decision to try another. I must say that most churches say that they welcome everyone as they are and once you start to get to know them, they start trying to change you into their idea of who they think you should be. FBC Pasadena is NOT that way, they accepted me and even allowed me to volunteer and assist in other ways when I was homeless. They have accepted me no matter how broken or crazy I might seem. In fact they even gave me a part-time job to assist in my Social Security and have always treated me as family (not the kind of family you dread seeing at Christmas, BUT like the family that cares for, looks after, and tends to the needs of each other. I have been going to this church weekly, sometimes bi-weekly for about six to seven years now; I have worked part-time for them for little over a year also; and throughout all of this time I have felt cared for, loved and even worried about. Even when I got into a little trouble with the law for beating up someone I had lived with, I NEVER felt judged or ridiculed by any of the church members. They are truly GOD's people practicing it the way that JESUS wants them to while accepting all souls NO MATTER race, color, creed, ethnicity, background, employed or not, homeless or not and NO MATTER how broken you are, they always try to make a place for you and make you feel good about yourself.
