Went in around 10:20am on a Wednesday. Barely anyone was around and we could take lovely images of the place without being rushed or crowded.

We got here at 1130am, my sister park at the side of the road near the entrance.It was a foggy morning & was a bit cold but we didn't mind it all.
Spend about almost an hour walking around, enjoying the view & taking lots of pictures before we head to our next destination.
I recommend coming early before 12pm because of parking & it gets really busy.

The Cypress Tree Tunnel is an absolute must-see. The curving, interlaced branches of the cypress trees create a truly stunning, almost otherworldly canopy. It feels like stepping into a fairytale. The way the light filters through the dense leaves is perfect for photos, and the tunnel itself has a quiet, magical feel.
It's a very quick stop, so you can easily fit it into a trip to the Point Reyes area. While the nearby Point Reyes Receiving Station (the historic radio station) closes at 4 p.m., the tree tunnel itself is accessible at all times, making it easy to visit whenever you like. It's best to go early in the morning or on a weekday to avoid crowds, as it can get busy with people all trying to get that perfect shot.

I mean ...it's honestly a beautiful spot, but it's just a quick photo op and leave kinda situation. Just pull off the road ..plenty of space at the shoulder nearby to park.
We got lucky and it wasn't busy at all. I took a couple photos for a group of 3 so no one would be left out and we got a couple nice selfies both in the tunnel and at the end with the former radio station.
It's worth the stop, if you're out this way and combining it with other sightseeing in the area.
Definitely not a spot to make a special trip to see on its own, but deserving of a photo. This holds especially true, if there aren't many people when you stop. You could get a really beautiful shot with friends or family.

Bear Valley is a beautiful and freeq place to hike and enjoy the coastal weather. The facility is clean and has a nicely shaded picnic area. The only thing was they no longer allow dogs on the trails.

Beautiful and large visitor center with an info desk and a gift shop. Water fountain inside, clean bathrooms outside (running water and soap, flushable toilets).
Gorgeous display of knitted and felted sea creatures (labor of love). Plenty of informative displays throughout the space.
National Park stamps available at entrance.
Plenty of parking. There's at least 1 trail that starts at this Visitor Center.
Some picnic benches - we had lunch here.
Free to enter. Airy space, probably a good spot to wait out some rain and learn about the area.
We will visit again and pick a hike.

This place is worthwhile visiting. The Visitor Center was closed due to the government shutdown but the picnic area was free, clean, and plenty of tables in sun or shade. But the unique aspect of the park is the grove of trees. They are other worldly and wonderful for children to play in and climb. Many hiking trails lead from this point.

Fun lil visitors center with a small exhibit inside that was lovely. I appreciated how kinda the employees were here and I loved the merch. Found some cute T-shirts and hats that give a percentage back to National Parks and public lands. Also a bunch of cute plushies and toys/books for kids. Had an amazing experience as in a few hours we saw 20+ humpback whales, elephant seals, elk, sea otters and even a mountain lion. The lighthouse is often fogged in and windy so check the weather. We went in late October and got lucky. The trails were well marked and the bathrooms were clean. Other than the road to the Elk reserve, the rest of the roads were in great shape if you don’t mind a little cow manure.

I found point reyes really cool because at first it honestly looks like any part of CA but you look a little closer and see plants you normally wouldn't see. Makes you feel like you're in a parallel world or something.
What's even better is the trails that lead towards the coast. The beaches are so clean because they're only accessible by trail and there are barely any people on the beach.

Point Reyes Crater was amazing!
We made it on our first try. I tracked the tidal charts for weeks before planning this trip. This was our first time making it to this side of Point Reyes National Seashore and it did not disappoint.
To make the trip to the Crater convenient, we camped out at the Coast Campsite which is literally just a little over a mile from the Crater. To make it without getting wet as much as possible you need to go at the lowest tide. For us on this day it was 6:30 am at -.02. Once you're there you get 20-30 minutes to explore before the tide starts coming back in. Water shoes will make a big difference.
On the way in you'll pass a refreshing waterfall and Sculptured Beach which is stunning. Again, the only way to get into Sculptured Beach is at low tide or swim. There are lots of sea caves to explore and sea delicacies you can harvest from the rocks; muscles, scallops, etc. If you like crab I recommend bringing a few traps while you explore the area. There are crabs everywhere. Make sure to pay attention to the California Fish and Game website for harvesting restrictions. Especially for shell fish.
There was lots of wildlife in the area. Mostly deer and quail. No whales on this trip but we were able to see them on our first two trips out here. There was a skunk that kept trying to bully us in camp at night but it just walked around like it owned the place then went on its way.
The Coast Campground and trail are definitely for backpackers. DO NOT bring a bunch of gear! I made that mistake by bringing a couple of carts worth of stuff and added a layer of complexity to our trip. Fully loaded wagons/carts will not make it down these rocky trails. There are lots of steep elevation changes.
We parked at the Laguna Trail Head. The trail is .8 miles then connects to the Fireline trail which is another 1.2 mile hike to the Coast Campground. Because of our wagons we were told to go the other way around because the Laguna Trail would've eaten up our carts. And they were right. We had to take the other way around which starts right in front of the Point Reyes Hostel. Then from there it's a 4.5 mile hike to the Coast Campground.

My son and I camped at campsite 7 on a late August Thursday night. The reservation was made about two weeks prior. The day was a rare clear day on the coast. We parked at the Laguna Trailhead and backpacked the 1.9 miles to Coast Camp. The first .5 miles is uphill and then the trail flattens out for a while. The last .75 mile is downhill to camp. It was a moderate hike. I did not take hiking poles but I will next time because of pack. We found our campsite easily and the access to the beach. On this clear day the beach was a big draw. We ate all our meals at the beach. The low tide was at 9:30pm so we spent much of the evening checking out the tide pools at the rocks. There was so much animal life. There was not much drift wood so we were not able to have a fire on the beach. The potable water was very drinkable and I will not bother packing water for our next trip. We had a spectacular time and will be back soon.

Perfect beginner's backpacking trip for families. Three flat miles in via Coast Trail and two miles out via Fire Lane/Laguna trails. Beautiful beach, potable water from two faucets, relatively clean pit toilets. I would recommend groups and campers with kids stay in sites 8-14. While they are less private, they are flat, close the water/bathrooms, and mostly on grass instead of dirt (which gets everywhere with kids).

This is a very cool place to camp. It's a short walk down to the ocean from the campground. It only takes about an hour to hike here directly from the parking lot. Fire restrictions are serious here. I needed a permit to have a fire and they were restricted to the beach (but of course there is almost no wood). There is a bear box/locker at each site. I was warned about the rodent problem and the lockers needing to be "plugged". I didn't have any issues with my food. Bathrooms were pretty gross but what do you expect for a "remote" campsite?

I have some sort of very fond nostalgia for this place due to the many times I've stopped here during the past 30 years on biking or beach trips to the area. It's a cool town and a great location. The bakery itself is okay. The pastries are fair, not great, like they used to be. Staff is not the friendliest, some give you the stink eye if you ask them to fill your water bottle. At least now, after years of resistance, they do have espresso drinks, which are okay. With so many bikers around, you would think the bakery or the town would make more of an effort to have nice outside seating and bike racks.
The bread shop behind them has pastries, I'll try them next time.

So much history here. It was an incredible feeling walking the San Andreas fault and learning about the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Short and easy walk that starts near the picnic spot and restrooms. It’s a nice loop that brings you back to the parking/picnic spot. The trail is shady and a small bridge takes you over a stream.
Along the trail there are educational boards/plaques explaining the geography and formation of the land. It is kid friendly and a great educational opportunity to take your school age kids to see the history.

We loved our stay at the Inn! The room was thoughtfully appointed with antiques and nice touches that made it especially cozy. The balconies (our room had two on either end) were so peaceful for a glass of wine at the end the day or eat our delicious breakfast provided by the Inn. The common areas were great as well. Such a lovely stay. We went Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Only one other couple in the entire place. The view of the stars was so amazing with little to no light pollution. The breakfast each morning in the basket was delicious. Also a short walk away from the Heidrun meadery which has delicious beverages (although there is little to no sidewalk so beware).

My husband and I coincidentally stayed here last Saturday and it was lucky for us.
We suddenly got a flat tire, and had no choice but to spend a night in Point Reyes Station. We tried many inns but there was no vacancy... Luckily we found here and could get a room thanks to Steve and Molly.
Although we rushed in in the late night, the owners kindly prepared the room and helped us to change the tire in the next morning. We could get home on Sunday. If it were not for them, we would have been in a great trouble.
It was small but very cozy room, and the view in the morning is stunning. The air was fresh and the mountain and cows were beautiful.
As for the wine, we love the dessert wine. I don't drink sweet wine, but it was not too sweet and was very refreshing.
We got sparkling wine and Cabernet Sauvignon. I am looking forward to drinking them.
The vineyard is worth visiting if you are looking for good wine and friendly B&B.

Wonderful wine tasting room on a gorgeous property surrounded by vineyards and roaming cattle. The two ladies working were absolutely delightful hosts, giving us local suggestions and colorful historical background. There is a wonderful patio off to one side of the property for an outdoor tasting, as well as room inside. Check out the pigeon coop too, we forgot to ask about it but counted 4 white birds, kinda neat to see. Bonus: the bathroom is clean, and if you're a Greatful Dead Head, this place is for you, trust me. We highly recommend stopping by here, oh and the wine is AMAZING!

She said she could do that but that we would have to move rooms. I said that was fine. She later called and again called me someone elses name and said no, we would not have to move rooms. The night before arriving there she calls me a third time, caling me someone elses name and says someone else has booked the second night. She then recommended another hotel that was $45/night more. This ruined our trip before it even started as we had to scramble to find accomodations at the last minute. Our scout group booked campsites 1–15 and had plenty of space for everyone — the area is open, clean, and perfect for kids to run around and play. The campground is in a good location. The site we were assigned to was very narrow and we were too close to our neighbors. Both the bathrooms and the laundry room need some attention, especially the restrooms, which have bird nests inside. There's a note on the bathroom door asking people not to close the door for that reason. Doors should be closed, and no birds/animals should be allowed inside restrooms. Most of the time you find bird droppings inside the restrooms which is totally unhealthy.

Been coming here for many years. Big problems here are DUST, poor maintenance and terrible internet. UNBELIEVABLE DUST from powder dirt roads and inconsiderate campers speeding around roiling up huge clouds of dust. Hey- where are the speed signs? Why not oil these dusty roads? You’ve been in business since 1969, for heaven’s sake!!! MAINTENANCE is poor. There is a kid’s play area and all the little ones make a bee-line for it! It has one of those wooden play structures with a climbing wall, slide, etc. This thing is all broken, rotten and literally collapsing! VERY DANGEROUS! Yet, no repairs, ever. Personal Injury attorneys should see this- it’s a major lawsuit just waiting to happen….some poor child will suffer. INTERNET: There is park WIFI…but it is useless- almost zero bandwidth. 5G is nil.
You will be out of touch here during your stay. This place is NOT cheap! It should be better. It looks like the original operators set it up real nice, but the current owners just milk it for all they can without fixing anything. We only stay here due to the location and may cease doing so going forward….

Not very far from San Francisco, good amenities (hot water, good toilets, shower, water taps everywhere, WiFi). There's a big meadow great for groups, with a road around it that kids can bike on. Very wet at night but dries up with the sun in the morning.
We didn't do much exploring in the area, but it's definitely not wilderness camping.

We weren’t sure what to expect with this campground, but we were warmly greeted by a gentleman in the office, which set the stage for our overnight stay. It had been raining, so there were some puddles around and there weren’t very many other campers there. The campground is grassy with a few tall trees dotted around, with gravel pads. It is well laid out with a series of cul de sacs with 8-12 campsites in each one. The bathroom and shower in our area was older, but clean and well maintained.
My husband wandered around and saw sheep grazing in the large area set aside for tents - including twin lambs just born the day before, which was quite a treat.
In all, Olema campground was a great place to stop overnight on our coastal vacation.

My daughter was part of a larger group of 4th graders and their parents who recently went to Olema Campground over the weekend (two nights, two days).
Overall, she had a great time, but that isn't the focus of this review.
One of the boys in the group, a child of color, was targeted by the campsite manager, falsely accusing him of throwing rocks at cars and people. Her behavior was wildly inappropriate: yelling, very confrontational, and racist. Other parents witnessed this and managed to deescalate the situation, but this doesn't change the fact that it happened.
My daughter, her mom, and I are all people of color, and we will not support any business that employs people who are comfortable behaving like this manager did.
Is the campsite nice and pleasant? Yes, but the manager was the polar opposite, and for that reason, we are never coming back here again.

The place is very clean. They do a good job of cleaning the rooms and public areas. I recommend this place for couples visiting for a weekend trip. Might also be good for families.

Completely charming and beautiful rooms in a perfect location! We stayed in the Satinwood room, and it is one of the most peaceful, well-thought-out, and lovely overnight accommodations I've ever seen. High ceilings with lots of windows, beautifully decorated, fireplace, and a small balcony overlooking the well-tended garden courtyard. Breakfast is included, with a variety of breakfast items included in the small refrigerator in the room. Very convenient and allows for a flexible schedule in the mornings. Its only a few minutes to town, a sweet little community with good restaurants, cute stores, and a market with anything else you might need. Buyer beware of the 7-day cancellation
My wife and I were looking forward to a Memorial weekend 5-day, 4-night stay that was planned about two months prior. Unfortunately, I became ill, and we had to cancel our stay, kayaking & horseback riding excursions. My wife called the day prior to us arriving to cancel and was informed that there was a 7-day cancellation, of which she understood, however we were charged for the entire stay & no other options were presented. When I recovered a week later, I called to see if anything could be done to either get a portion of our stay refunded, I was greeted with no & that the policy is clear on the website. I then asked if we could re-book for Labor Day weekend as we were still wanting to visit that area and was told no again. I was also told that this is normal practice in California, which is not correct as we had a trip to Sacramento changed a few years back and was only charged the first night’s stay and refunded the rest. This is clearly their policy and not indicative of all California. Imagine a week’s long stay, a chance to get out of the city only to have the vacation canceled due to unforeseen circumstances & then must still pay for the hotel stay that never happened. Circumstances happen and I’m not naïve to the hospitality business, however getting charged for the full stay I feel is unreasonable. Regarding the kayaking excursion, my wife received credit to be used later this year & we were not charged for canceling with the horseback riding company.

It’s really clean here. And close to everything.
We stayed in the Eastlake Room and it was energetically nice. However, the mattress seriously needs to be replaced. It felt like a marshmallow. Aside from it being too soft, it squeaked so loud that I woke up every time my BF moved, which was a lot because he couldn’t get comfortable. One night I slept on the floor but then had severe allergies that morning probably because pets have been allowed to stay in the carpeted room. Another thing they should consider is unscented laundry detergent. And not smoking near the laundry room.
Also, from the photos on their website I was under the impression we would be served a delicious breakfast when all that was left in the room was an English muffin, bagel, bear claw, eggs and a couple other things. They did have nice drinks in the fridge. Bovine Bakery in town is divine so it wasn’t a bad thing that we didn’t have breakfast at the Inn.
The garden is lovely and is quiet on the week days when there is no traffic. Bring a bathing suit to enjoy the jacuzzi. And hiking boots to explore the many beautiful trails around. Pt Reyes is a magical area.

Loved the Bed, was disappointed by the Breakfast...
When my husband reserved a birthday weekend at a cute bed and breakfast near Point Reyes, I had a cozy vision of a cute room, with a fireplace, with a comfy bed, in a good location (got all of those) as well as a warm breakfast served communally (was disappointed we didn't get that).
The Inn is super well located, down the street from the village, very clean, comfortable, and cozy. No complaints at all, and would definitely recommend on those grounds.
However, on the breakfast side, which is part of the B&B charm, we were left with cold muffins, bagels, and hard boiled eggs in the room fridge. While I understand it's a remnant of COVID precautions, it was a disappointment to the experience. We ended up taking the muffins hiking and got breakfast at a couple of cafes in town.
Overall, it's a good place to stay, but the lack of warm breakfast made me feel more like I was on a business trip and less on a romantic getaway.

Family of three stayed in the Victorian room. It was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was much enjoyed and the gas fireplace made it cozy. The view out the balcony and the courtyard make it a nice place to hang out and visit with each other. There is some road noise daytime but it didn't bother us as much as anticipated. Can't comment on food since due to pandemic there was no serving. But they provided a variety of breakfast foods to eat in the room along with toaster, fridge, and Keurig. We were satisfied with that.

This a serene, peaceful getaway spot. The rooms have a vast view of native fields, the hills of Inverness and peeking out in the distance, the water of Tomales Bay. No houses, no cars, no construction, just birdsong and breezes. Deer families graze on the property, hawks fly overhead. Mist comes in off the hills at the sunset...this is a restful place.
Mamie is a gracious host. The spacious rooms are comfortable, with generous seating by the window for gazing, writing, reading, drawing...There are only 3 rooms so even with a full house there is solitude available.
The inn is a few minutes drive from Point Reyes which has groceries and several cafes / restaurants. There are several seafood spots up the coast which are fresh and memorable.
EV drivers take note, there is a Tesla Supercharger station 10 minutes south of here in the parking lot of Due West Tavern / Olema house.

Point Reyes Station is not a big town, and the Inn is on outskirts, with a protected state reserve in the back yard. Some of the highlights:

The drive from Inverness through Tomales Park to the lighthouse is one of the most beautiful in the world with lots of stopping points along the way to park, get out, and enjoy the view. It looks like plenty of hiking trails too though we stuck to the road other than walking out to South Beach, to look out near lighthouse where we saw the seals far below, and then various short walks near the lighthouse. Just spectacular. Sunny weekday day in mid March was beautiful with hardly anyone around so super easy to park and drive around.

We went to Shell Beach at the recommendation of a local who said it was the best beach on the West Coast. Well, just like everything when it comes to traveling - it is relative to what the person has seen and experienced. It is a cute, not touristy, tucked away bay-side beach. We hiked down about a 5 minute walk and had lunch while we watched the waves. It is pretty but it wasn't take-your-breath-away pretty to us.
