We totally loved Tangiers and after being very bamboozled the first night when we got lost on our way in busy small streets, and were suspicious of people showing us the way etc we quickly found our way around over the next day or two and realised how helpful and friendly people are in the Medina. The key to finding dar sharif is to find Rue Ben Abdessadak. This is quite a long street and Rue Akbar Zaida where the hostel is is is off that road. The easiest entry is probably from Rue D’Italie. Streets change names at various points! It was our first time in Morocco and Tangiers was a unique experience with its incredible history and beautiful light.
