This husband and wife team, with the charming, attentive and knowledgeable Penny running front of house and Alex creating magic in the kitchen, have got the recipe that is Popina perfected. We've been to almost all restaurants in Eumundi, most of which are very good, but Popina truly stands out as exceptional. It was also lovely to discover that another good friend had been with us in spirit. We thought we recognised the artful metal work surrounding the court yard and discovered, that indeed, it was created by our good friend Steve Weiss. We had the pancakes (served w/ cooked banana, coconut ice cream, maple syrup, fruit and nuts) and a plant-based burger w/ sweet potato chips. Serving size was great and well priced. All day breakfast. We also had the banana/cocoa/peanut butter smoothie which was tasty and not too sweet. The gentlemen serving us was very friendly and gave us the left-overs from the smoothie. We went with a couple of Italian relatives as we were meeting up after a while. They are vegetarian and diary free. The restaurant was very accommodating. They made a pizza with gluten free base for them. They said it was the best. We had pizza and pasta as well. We are every morsal of our meals. The desserts were just as good. If you get a chance when your in Eumundi, please remember to go. Fantastic waiting staff too. We took our dog with us and had no issues. Wish we were close by.
