(원문) We arrived around 11:45am on a Tuesday in October. First, we tried to park at Soldier Pass but the lot was full. We saw many people parking at Posse park and walking to the trailhead. I’d say it’s about a mile. So we headed on to the Brins Mesa/Jim Thompson parking. Beware – the last 1/2 mile is a dirty/dusty road with many deep pot holes. The lot was almost full but luckily we squeezed in to one of the remaining spots. The Red Rock pass machine wasn’t working so you had to purchase a pass online with sketchy cell coverage. They don’t make it easy to be honest! There are pit toilets in the parking lot. We hiked the 6 mile loop and it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes. We started clockwise on the Cibola Trail, then Soldier Pass, then Brins Mesa back to the parking lot. We’re glad we did too because Brins Mesa is a pretty long climb up going the other way. Soldier Pass has some shade but most of Brins Mesa does not. The Soldier Pass trail is much busier. There are many loose rocks on the trail, and, at times, it appeared we were hiking in a dry creek bed. Despite hiking boots, our feet were a bit sore the next day. There are amazing views from both trails. Luckily, my camera didn’t poop out on me from taking so many pictures! We opted not to hike out to the caves but you can clearly see them at the top of the Soldier Pass trail. Tons of cactus and agave/century plants and places that look like maintained garden areas (they aren’t though). We loved the hike and appreciated the diverse landscape on the trails. There is something mystical about this place, and we got that Zen feeling for sure!
