Greek restaurant
Located in the charming village of Zia, Oromedon Restaurant is the culmination of Nikos Papakonstantinou's return from America to invest in his passion for authentic Dodecanese flavors. For over two decades, Nikos and Dionysia have dedicated themselves to offering a unique gastronomic experience that showcases forgotten traditional dishes of Kos, all baked in a wood oven.
We had a wonderful evening here — the food was delicious, the sunset view was absolutely breathtaking, and the service was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The highlight of the meal was definitely the shrimp — cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor, and highly recommended. Every element of the experience felt thoughtfully executed, making it a place we’d happily return to. A perfect spot for a relaxing dinner with a view.

Unbelievable view - the staff is super friendly and relaxed. They gave great wine recommendations! The food - had the lamb was so soft and melted like butter in your mouth. Needs a rooftop reservation though if you want to see the sunset 🌅
Sarah A — Google review
Great atmosphere! Very glad to have taken the cab ride to Zia village, it was worth it! The food and the service were amazing, we definitely ate a lot 😅 everything we had was amazing!! The service was also very good with friendly waiters! For the next time I would suggest booking it for an earlier time so you can see the amazing sunset! Make a reservation for the Terrace and not the other options!
Selin A — Google review
Great restaurant, great location, great staff, and delicious food. We made a reservation a few days in advance for 5:30 PM. When making the reservation, you can specify where you want to sit. When we inquired, it was clear that we could take our time to watch the sunset. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in making our choices (we wanted two appetizers and a main course. However, the main course was so large that the waiter suggested we only order one appetizer. He wasn't lying about the main course...). We sat upstairs on the terrace next to the balustrade, which gave us a perfect view before and after sunset. The food was delivered incredibly quickly. It was everything food should be: hot, flavorful, and plentiful. The only improvement would be to give guests a longer break between the appetizer and the main course. The appetizer had just finished before the main course arrived. You can prevent this by ordering only your appetizer first and then ordering your main course. We found the price exceptionally reasonable, especially considering the prime location. Highly recommended!
Robin S — Google review
While the restaurant has exceptional view, it also retains the good quality food after visiting over a number of years. Many traditional Greek dishes available and great service. Would highly recommend. Make sure you reserve in advance in peak holiday periods
NC — Google review
Amazing restaurant with excellent food and friendly service. We hardly had to wait for our meal. I recommend booking in advance – we came without a reservation and got one of the last free tables. The beautiful view makes the whole experience even better.
Ondřej P — Google review
Great restaurant with amazing location for watching the sunset in Zia, Kos. Service is OK, the staff seems to be a bit stressed out. Food is super tasty. I recommend making a reservation well in advance, during high season the restaurant can we fully booked since long ago. Definitely the best restaurant in Zia!
Marion K — Google review
Great view, had a booking at 5pm(as that's was the only time available on the website) so restaurant was quiet. Food was amazing. Staff placed citronella candles to deter bugs away which was helpful as they're massive 😂. Only thing is the chairs are pretty uncomfortable so we didn't stay long

Outdoor Activities
Lambi Beach, located about 2 km north of Kos Town, is a popular spot with a mix of sand and pebbles. It's known for its vibrant nightlife scene and the nearby Mylos Beach Bar, which hosts events featuring both national and international DJs. The beach offers lounge chair rentals and is surrounded by bars and clubs that cater to a younger crowd.
the water is so clean and so is the sand, the boats and ships can sometimes make the water choppy and a bit dangerous, but if you spent a very strong swimmer you don't meed to just stay next to the shore as the water goes deep slowly it's good, if you are in kos I recommend going there! Just across the sea you can see turkey (I think 😅)
Freya B — Google review
There are sand and stone areas with lovely, clear water and turquoise water. Parts are sheltered with trees and along the whole stretch there are areas with sun loungers to hire, some of which are private for hotels close by. There are beach bars, too.
Nad C — Google review
A nice beach. Surprisingly the umbrellas and beds were free. You can have drinks and snacks from nearby bars and restaurants.
George A — Google review
Great choice of sun beds. Some free but you buy drinks. Banana beach brilliant 4.50 per bed. Super comfy mattress. Use of toilet at heaven beach bar
Chris — Google review
Clean beautiful beach , i enjoyed there. We ordered strawberry and mango smoothie. The one with strawberry didn’t taste that good. The only thing i didn’t like was that there weren’t enough space between the sun-beds.
Alic — Google review
Beach that runs from Kos up and around the headland. Lots of bar lounger plenty of space . Not very wide but a shallow waterline.
Ian B — Google review
There's a city bus that goes from Kos town to Lambi. You can also walk there (15-20 min), or ride a bike since it's only about 1-2 km from Kos port. Rather desolate beach in April; during high season it becomes overly commercial, all covered in restaurant sunbeds. There is no shade, and the sand is course, and dirty, certainly not very inviting, hence the numerous sunbed rentals all along this rather ugly beach. Nothing worth seeing at Lambi. If you strain your eyes, you can vaguely make out the Turkish coast in the distance, through the haze. But you can do so from almost anywhere in Kos town.
Globe T — Google review
Nice beach, it is more rocky than sandy. View is amazing. You can find free sunbeds at Heaven.

Outdoor Activities
Therma Beach, situated on the southeastern coast of Kos, is a one-of-a-kind destination known for its natural thermal springs. The hot waters, with temperatures reaching 42 to 45 degrees Celsius, provide a therapeutic and relaxing swimming experience. Visitors can enjoy sweeping sea views and take advantage of the beach's unique wellness offerings. In addition to its renowned hot springs, Kos offers a wide range of activities including cultural events, sporting facilities, and beautiful hiking trails.
It definitely worthwhile to visit this thermal spring and enjoy the bubbles and warm water close to 40 Celsius. You need to park and walk to get to the beach but along the road you can see goats too 😄
George A — Google review
Interesting place, hot springs run into sea, improvised basin and crowds of people. We went there on the sunset, not overcrowded but nothing like sun-beds or changing rooms.
Nigar A — Google review
Best time is sunset, we went around 7 pm and stayed till it was dark. Amazing place, smells like eggs but not too much. Was not overly crowded. Easy access by foot from parking lot/ bus stop. Can recommend!
M ( — Google review
Currently (2025.10) the basin aera is very small, there is no place to immerse yourself completly. There is only small hole with very hot water, and small pitch with warm wster near see. Quite disapointing! Not recommend to visit. The views are fine tough.
Maciej S — Google review
Such a unique spot! You jump into the sea and suddenly it feels like you’re in a natural hot tub. 🚿 Warm thermal water mixing with the waves, plus those mountain views – unreal! Bring a towel and maybe a scrub glove and you’ve basically got yourself a free spa day. 😂 Definitely one of the most fun and relaxing experiences in Kos

Kos Island Thermal Springs: A Traveller's Practical Guide I'd like to share my experience visiting the thermal springs on Kos Island – this place is absolutely worth the journey! Getting There I left my hotel early in the morning and walked along the coast towards Kos town, stopping along the way to photograph local landmarks (more on those in my next post). The bus station is quite modest: a kiosk with timetables (unmanned) and a covered bus stop. Directly across the road are ancient Greek ruins, and diagonally opposite is the police station – excellent landmarks for navigation. In October, bus number 5 runs every hour (same schedule for weekdays and weekends). With 45 minutes until departure, I happily spent the time exploring the ancient ruins. The bus arrived precisely at 12:30 as scheduled, but remained at the stop for another 15 minutes whilst the driver sold tickets and waited for other passengers. Useful Information: Ticket price: €2 (accurate as of 11 October 2025) Journey time: approximately 30 minutes The springs are the final stop on route 5 Windows are tinted, so sit at the front if you want to enjoy the scenery At the Beach It's about 560 metres from the bus stop to the springs at the end of the beach. The hottest and cleanest water emerges from a stone structure. Local volunteers maintain natural pools in the rock formations, though waves constantly fill them with sand and stones. During my visit, one dedicated soul was clearing debris with a barely-intact shovel – a true hero! The water is genuinely hot – practically boiling! The minerals are evident from the smell, and bubbles rising from beneath the earth delightfully tickle your body. I recalled Pushkin's fairy tale about Tsar Saltan, where the hero plunged into a cauldron of boiling water and gained youth and beauty – so naturally, I awaited my transformation! 🤣 Important Tips: Best to lie flat in the water – standing burns your ankles Alternate between the hot springs and the cold sea Don't overdo it! After my third dip, even as a regular sauna-goer, I felt dizzy and had to retreat to shore Beware: Local Residents! A herd of mountain goats roams the beach, attacking tourists at the slightest whiff of food. Whilst I was swimming, the goats knocked my rucksack off a stone wall (where I'd deliberately placed it high up!), unzipped it, and devoured everything inside. My attempts at fair distribution of the remains failed – the goats have their own hierarchy, and the alpha takes everything. Practical Information: Entry is free (surprisingly!) Sunbeds at the beach entrance: €5 (not worth it – the springs are far away) Better to settle on the sandy-stone beach near the springs themselves In the pool closer to the sea, the water is brownish due to iron oxidation in the rocks – bathers emerge with a rusty coating Verdict The views from above and along the path to the beach alone justify the visit, not to mention the healing properties of the mineral waters. This is a unique place where nature has created a genuine open-air spa!

What an awesome experience this is! We drove to therma beach and parked at the top near the cafe (you can drive down the cliff if your brave enough!!) However most opt to walk, it's a 10 min walk down to the bottom where you will find a volcanic beach with a little restaurant, black sand and cliff faces. In front of you, you will find the hot spring (and when I say hot- it's unbearable to stand in when we went!!) The best way to do it is to get into to sea first that's cooler and then attempt the hot spring. Its even bubbling in places! A selection of tropical fish in the clear sea- take a snorkel. There was also a gazebo offering some volcanic mud treatments, I chose a face mud mask for 5 euro and you wash it off in the sea afterwards. We also saw mountain goats clinging on to the cliff edge which had everyone watching and praying they didn't fall! The walk back to the top could be difficult for some and a test of fitness. Overall a reccomended experience!

Wineries & Vineyards
Ktima Akrani, also known as Triantafyllopoulos Winery, was established in 2001 at the base of mountain Dikaios near the first vineyards in Miniera. The winery spans over 2,500 square meters and is equipped with modern machinery to uphold their principle of respecting the raw materials. With a capacity of around 3,000 bottles and ISO22000 certification, it opened its doors to the public in 2004.
We attended this vineyard as part of a wine tour that we booked whilst on holiday in tigaki. This was the second vineyard we visited. The host was very nice and informative. We got to taste 4 different wines, white, rose, red and dessert wine. We got to go downstairs and look at the wine barrels. We also got a small plate of food to accompany the wines to accentuate their taste which was lovely. Lovely view as well. Very nice vineyard would recommend
Connor D — Google review
We had a lovely wine tasting with food pairings. The young lady who served us was very engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. What let the visit down was it was all a bit unorganised. We also weren't given any kind of tour of the vineyard. The winery was being deep cleaned, and we were left to wander the cellar on our own. Could have been much better. Lovely wine though. 👍🍷
Ian H — Google review
Beautiful winery with stunning views of the mountains and nearby islands. The wine tasting was excellent – each wine served perfectly and paired with delicious local cheeses and snacks. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and truly passionate. A must-visit on Kos!

A fabulous winery. We were able to taste some fantastic wines in a beautiful location. A special thanks to Corina who went the extra mile to give us a first-class tasting experience. I can’t wait to return one day!

Very nice place! We dropped by for a quick visit and had such a nice time. Didn’t do a full tour, but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Tried a few wines—really enjoyed them—and the terrace was beautiful and peaceful. Perfect spot to relax for a bit. It's definitely worth a stop! My favorite one was the dessert rose, sweet and refreshing!
Caroline L — Google review
A wonderful experience, perfectly organized. Warm welcome, seating provided, and a pleasant atmosphere. We really enjoyed the red wines. We especially appreciated the detailed explanation about the wines as well as the spontaneous conversation about the production process. A must-try!

I visited the winery while on wine tasting tour. I loved the wine tasting here, nice setting was prepared for us with dedicated little snack to compliment each wine.

This was the second winery visit of the day. By far the best of the two. We sat at larger tables and therefore more sociable. Plenty of time to enjoy the wine. Definitely recommend!

Sunset Balcony Taverna, situated in the charming village of Zia, boasts an extensive selection of homemade culinary delights including salads, appetizers, main courses and desserts. Renowned for its exceptional cuisine and top-notch service, this taverna has earned a reputation as the epitome of dining excellence on the island. Its breathtaking vistas offer an unparalleled backdrop to enjoy a mesmerizing sunset while savoring authentic Greek cuisine.
Great food, best spot for watching the sunset! Defo worth booking ahead. We were lucky but it filled up pretty fast! All the food was stunning, the staff were nice and the prices are really reasonable

Yesterday we had an amazing dinner with a beautiful view. We’d called the day before to make a reservation, but they weren’t taking any more. They told us to just come early (around 18:00 or 18:30), and that worked out perfectly — we got a table with a great view of the sunset. But the view wasn’t the main reason I wanted to leave a review. What really stood out was how hard the staff were working. The place was packed, and the whole team was constantly running around, making sure everyone was taken care of. They were working so hard; it was impressive. The food was also fantastic. We had dolmades, octopus in vinegar, lamb chops, grilled shrimp, chocolate cake, and ravani. Everything was delicious and full of flavor. All in all, a great evening and definitely worth it.
Anke T — Google review
The food was not what I expected. The pasta was supposed to be with prawns, but it came with shrimps instead. The waiter offered Parmesan cheese, but never brought it. It’s best to arrive an hour early. Don’t bother making a reservation….. However, the view makes up for everything.
Mariusz M — Google review
This taverna is located directly on the way up and offers a great view even without sunset. However, all the seats right on the edge seem to be reserved by default. But you still have a nice view even in the second row. The taverna gets completely full towards sunset, even if it doesn't seem like it beforehand. The food is okay, but not ground-breaking. The prices are okay, but the portions are a little small. With main course, dessert and drinks, we were around €25 per person. The service is a bit busy, but friendly.
Benny T — Google review
Great location (after a little climb), airy, tasty but basic food (some out of stock). We enjoyed our time there. Note that it was the only place that during our 2 weeks in Greece that charged a 'cover charge' (for cutlery, napkin etc) see photos (we asked about it when we saw it on our bill and they confirmed it)(only half a euro each but unusual).
Michael H — Google review

Barbouni is a popular restaurant located in Kos town center, offering a cool vibe and fresh seafood. The place is known for its fantastic service and seaside location with great views. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes including shrimp patties, steamed mussels, seafood pasta, lobster risotto, saganaki, koulouri salad, mackerel, shrimp risotto, sea bass as well as delicious desserts like profiterole and millefeuille.
Outstanding value and a true culinary highlight! We had grilled octopus and calamari as starters, lobster and grilled sea brass fillet as mains, and profiteroles for dessert. Everything was delicious, and the house wine paired beautifully. Service was excellent – friendly, professional, and attentive. The lobster was even decorticated right at the table. Tip: When booking online, request a front sea view – it makes the experience even better. We’ll gladly come back. Highly recommended! @Profteroles - picture to dark to post, would not meet reality

Best restaurant in Kos town to eat fresh fish. Beautiful place! We had dinner at the beach and the view and atmosphere is from a movie. The service is amazing. We had pasta with lobster and I can tell you it worth every euro. You can also pick your lobster and fish. Highly recommended.

Cozy atmosphere and caring staff always willing to provide 5* service, not minding at all satisfying your needs, extra step means nothing for those people. Resembling Greek mindset for Greek hospitality. Extravagant food variety combining traditional and modern Greek cuisine. Don’t forget to visit the modified room in the back to have a look at the fresh catch of the day. Value for money is priority for this restaurant. Pet friendly and kids friendly. Will definitely visit again anytime soon.

We went there at 16:30 without a reservation. The waiter told us that there's table was free up to 18:30. So we entered. Clean place with beachfront. The chairs are comfortable. The service is fast. They brought us bread with warm olive oil and olives, which was very salty to our taste. We took grilled tuna and grilled sea bass for the main. The tuna didn't have much taste for the price we paid. Portions are really small! For the starter, I took a scallop 1 piece, which didn't taste good either. Music wasn't loud but it didn't fit with the atmosphere.
N. N — Google review
We celebrated my parents 48th anniversary, the food was extraordinary, lots of unexpected creativity with common Aegean dishes. The prices are totally ok for 2025 standards, very much recommended. You should reserve if you‘d like a nice table close to the sea.
Pinar O — Google review
A place with incredible flavors and fresh fish and appetizers. All the staff are very attentive and the service is quite fast. Even though we didn't make a reservation, they set up a nice table by the sea. 🎉
Sevgi A — Google review
Visited there during the day (nights are full). Didn’t have too many fish options. Everything was fresh. Recommending the grilled octopus and the shrimp souvlaki. The portions are small. Not favoring the dip stuff and scallops. Try fresh sea food, particularly barbouni and sea bream. Nice atmosphere, good service.
Turev A — Google review
Food was excellent and restaurant is in a great beach front location. Prices little higher than old town but expect it for beach front restaurants. What we were very disappointed in was the service by the waitress serving us. Service was very slow and seemed like couldn't even bother. At first we had ordered 2 wines and got the wrong ones, we spoke to one of the waiters who brought the right drinks. The waitress came and took the other glasses away, however when we received the bill I asked waitress was the other 2 wines on it which she replied they were not. Paid bill and didn't check at the time however we were charged. Don't mind paying higher prices for good quality but not charging for items we did not consume. The bill came to €100 for 2 of us. Never had a bad meal anywhere in Greece but that did put a sour note on our restaurant experience. Ever restaurant we visited the staff were all pleasant but the one waitress there was so miserable and unhelpful. Would not recommend, so many nicer place along the beach front and in the town.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Lido Water Park is a sprawling 75,000-square-meter family-friendly attraction located in Mastichari, Greece. It features a variety of pools, thrilling slides, crazy rivers, and wave pools. The park also offers a separate kids' area with water toys and shallow waters for the little ones to enjoy. Additionally, there are service facilities such as restaurants, snack bars, coffee bars, changing rooms and mini-markets available on-site.
Superb water park. Reasonably priced, we’d heard buying direct is the best priced option so we purchased our tickets on entry. The free bus makes it easily accessible. The timetable is on their website and return times are displayed at the entrance each day, with a 15minute reminder over the speaker. Good variety of slides with mixed thrill levels that are clearly marked. The wave pool was a huge hit and the different wave styles really mixed it up. Most slides require a minimum height of 120 or accompanied by an adult. A couple of food options but seating could be limited with table service only. So waiting for a seat could be an issue. The food we ate was good quality and fairly priced. All the staff were friendly. I will add that if you want a locker then take cash, as card payments for this is impossible.
Dev T — Google review
It was nice, clean. We visited the park in mid-July and it wasn't too crowded except for the lazy river. (They don't follow safety rules there and none of the lifeguards say anything). It's great that they have organized bus transportation. Otherwise, it's nicely arranged, but nothing special.
Petra Ž — Google review
Visited Lido Water Park on our visit to Kos and it was a great excursion to split up the holiday. We booked through Offshore Travel who picked us up and dropped us back off at our hotel. Plenty of slides and swimming opportunities for everyone. The food areas were also ideal and reasonably priced! Many staff were situated around the park and were all helpful. A fun day all round.
Paisley-Anne M — Google review
Great water park. Clean and tidy, free to use sun beds. €7 for locker and get €2 back on key return. Slides fun, black hole was very hot and dark inside, the ratings aren't accurate so don't be fearful. Great wave pool and lazy river was also fun.
Zoe M — Google review
The place was excellent! Great for children & adults 👏 good food, not many things to do .. but still plenty of fun! the slides were great also the lazy river was really fun the interactive water park was amazing for young kids even babies 👶 overall great place to visit.
Matthew S — Google review
Good value water park, mostly empty when I went in September 2025. You'll get all the rides done in one hour and have enough time to get food and drinks. Nice, friendly staff atmosphere.
Jacob D — Google review
We cycled here from Marmari on a Friday. On arrival the massive car park only had a few cars, and there was no queuing at all. Staff were very friendly. Entry was €22 plus €5 for (€7 deposit with €2 back). One locker is plenty big enough for two or more. There park was extremely quiet, so we had our choice of loungers and no queuing at all on the rides. We had a fun afternoon followed by a peaceful rest on loungers. It’s true that the black hole is a bit disorientating as there are no lights or music inside, like at some other parks. The wave pool runs periodically with good steep waves. The lazy river is a decent length. There is a laned pool if you want to swim lengths. More people arrived when the shuttle buses came in, but it was never crowded.
Dunmowpeddler — Google review
Small in terms of slides but the kids loved it. The waves at 12 especially are amazing do not miss the waves. Take advantage of the free shuttle bus ive put a picture of the times as at August 25 The best thing here is the food stall. King Size Beach Bar is a popular Mediterranean bar located in Tigaki, Kos. With a great beachfront location, it offers a pretty and relaxing atmosphere for visitors. The bar has received positive reviews for its good food and drinks. It's considered one of the best dining options in the area, with many travelers recommending it as a top choice for dinner.
Highly recommended! We love this place and feel very much at home here. Extremely friendly staff, a very nice owner & his lovely wife, great food and drinks! Thank you - we will definitely come back :))

We drove by there by chance and found it looks very nice. The staff is very accommodating. The food was wonderful (large portions) price performance was top! We would go there again.
Sabrina B — Google review
It has comfortable wooden lounge chairs and umbrellas that provide good shade. The young people serving are friendly, polite, and accommodating. There's no entrance fee. You pay for whatever you eat and drink. However, the cuisine seemed a bit lacking to me. We've had better quality and more delicious meals at Başak Beach Club and bars. But overall, we were satisfied. There was no loud music. It was an ideal place for a quiet sunbath and a shallow, safe sea for children.

That was an absolutely awesome breakfast and desserts. The best place I have ever been to. The decor is incredibly impressive and makes a great impression. The owners are incredible hosts and truly lovely people. I totally recommend it to everyone!

Probably the BEST restaurant I’ve been during my vacation. The food is exquisite both in taste and presentation, The staff is super polite and really friendly ane the place per se has a really nice vibe and everything is well organized (Plus the whole restaurant is very well ventilated so unless you get here on an esoecially torrid day you’ll never suffer any kind of heatness)

This is probably the better place to go for sunsets, Zia gets very crowded and I personally think the setting sun reflected in water is much more dramatic
69nediamnori — Google review
I’ll start with the atmosphere which is pretty great for a beach bar and really well made compared with others on the island. The waiters were nice and friendly. As to the food, we liked very much the salad but the two main courses did not meet our expectations. The chops were more salty than needed and the steak a little bit chewy. On the plus side, they gave us free desert at the end which is a rarity on the island. We went there at the beginning of the season and we are willing to visit it again for another round to see if the food is better since the place is very well decorated and calming. If you just want a coffee by the sea, is the perfect place to go.
Τania P — Google review
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the cocktail I ordered here. I got a Piña Colada for 11€, and it was completely underwhelming. The drink had no noticeable rum, barely any pineapple flavor, and only a faint hint of coconut – it tasted like a watered-down mocktail at best. For that price, I expected a proper, flavorful cocktail, not something bland and forgettable. On the positive side, the music and atmosphere were nice, but sadly that doesn’t make up for the poor quality of the drink. I won’t be returning or recommending this place based on my experience.

Seafood restaurant
Nick the Fisherman is a popular seafood restaurant known for its fresh and delicious dishes. Located near the shore, it offers a wonderful setting for a memorable dining experience. The tavern Oromedon also provides an authentic taste of local cuisine with traditional Kos dishes and stunning views of the sea from its charming rooftop covered in bougainvillea. Visitors can also explore other nearby tavernas such as Yorgo for good seafood and appetizers.
We arrived an hour before the restaurant officially opened, but decided to wait – and we don’t regret it for a second! The food was absolutely fantastic – fresh seafood prepared with great care, perfectly complemented by excellent wine. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Great staff, especially the amazing young waitress with short black hair, who was very kind to the children, which we really appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful experience during our holiday!
Pizzavinohrady — Google review
In a city full of tourist traps and aggressive waiters, I finally found a hidden gem — a psarotaverna serving fresh fish! Greek music playing softly in the background, the scent of the sea, and a perfectly grilled catch of the day — what more could you want from a Greek holiday? This little restaurant is tucked away just outside the center of Kos, between cocktail bars. I had almost given up hope of finding real fish here, but this place proved me wrong. The waiter will recommend the fresh fish available that day, and you’re served delicious spreads for the bread — everything is full of authentic flavor. It’s also one of the few places where you can get genuine boiled greens (horta), which were amazing. The fish was simply delicious, and even the beer was local. Pure joy! 🇬🇷🐟 I’ll definitely be back. The only tiny downside: even after such a lovely feast, we didn’t receive a complimentary dessert or a shot of ouzo, which is something we’ve come to expect in Greece. Still, it’s absolutely worth visiting. And it’s not that expensive!
Joanna K — Google review
We had a wonderful evening! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, especially with the seaside view. The mezes, mussels, and especially the stuffed calamari were delicious. We also loved the meat-topped fava. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Kos! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ!
Umut Ö — Google review
Good seafood and even better appetizers. First time visited this place. It has a good location and traditional cuisine. Service was good and even we needed to wait and it felt slow in the beginning, once we were seated and made our order they were taking good care of us. My favorites were smoked herring and zucchini staffed flower. Staffed calamari was also delicious but after all food maybe it was too much, should be ordered separately as a main dish. I can’t comment on the main courses, didn’t order it. Also to go with the traditional dishes maybe would be better to have different traditional baked bread. And I would like to highlight the prices (very good) and the bill presentation (coming in a ship).
Ирина А — Google review
All the dishes we ordered were fantastic, except for the fried calamari, which was a bit rubbery, and it took 45 minutes just to get a salad on the table. The atmosphere was amazing, right by the sea—easily the best spot I visited during my Kos vacation. Although it was the most expensive restaurant among the ones we tried, it was totally worth it. The only downside was that most of the staff could have been more polite, as their attitude felt a bit off. That said, I’d like to set the owner apart from the rest—he was attentive and cheerful, and really made a difference in our experience.
Burak B — Google review
There is a beautiful atmosphere and view right next to the beaches along the sea. Sea scallops were very nice. Their homemade wine came with a nice cooling sleeve so it deserves plus points. We ate tuna tartare, seafood pasta and zucchini flower fries, they were also average.
Yağmur D — Google review
When I wasn't satisfied with the seafood at the hotel, I started looking into the famous seafood restaurants in Kos, and based on many reviews, I chose Nick’s Place. It’s a charming tavern with flawless service. The octopus is prepared using the traditional Greek island method of sun-drying, which, if you're not accustomed to, can feel quite chewy and salty. It was made according to tradition, but perhaps they could consider a marinade before serving. The tuna tartare, in my opinion, could use a bit more refinement. Using specific cuts suitable for tartare when filleting the tuna ensures it doesn’t become chewy. The sardines were well-cooked but felt slightly overdone inside, which could possibly be due to the October season. The calamari was also something I expected to be a bit more varied on the grill; it came off a bit plain to me. However, their fish soup was excellent. I highly recommend trying it when you visit.
Batu A — Google review
If you have just one evening in Kos and are looking for a truly memorable dining experience, this is the place you've been searching for. The mussel saganaki and crab salad are definitely the stars of the show. You can indulge in fresh and delicious oysters, and feast on perfectly cooked grilled octopus, fried calamari, and grilled shrimp. The very friendly prices and satisfying service make this a unique and unmissable spot for any seafood lover.

Beach
Agios Theologos Beach is a remote and rugged coastal destination located about 7 km southwest of Kefalos in Greece. Accessing the beach can be an adventure, especially driving on the dirt track from Kefalos. Despite powerful surf, the waves break far offshore, creating a broad and shallow area for wading. The beach offers sand and pebbles with options to rent beach beds and umbrellas.
Perfect Sunset spot... if you arrive around 1h before sunset, I recommend to first drop into the restaurant and reserve a table for dinner, then order wine-"to go", walk down to see the sunset while drinking your Aperitif, come back up and enjoy your dinner - very nice seafood dishes but also Moussaka. During the season maybe call ahead of time!
Elisabeth L — Google review
Very small and quiet beach, didn’t seem like a lot of families with children visit here and we didn’t see many all afternoon. The beach isn’t very Sandy as you can see from the images. There is a guy that will come around collected €7 for the sun beds once you have sat down! You can use them as long as you like for the €7 for both beds! He seems nice and approachable.
Zoë B — Google review
Very nice beach, not overly busy. Combo of rocky and sandy. Beautiful water colors
Zachary W — Google review
OK, so, if you expect a sandy beach.... run..... this is all pebbles, hard on the feet if you don't wear something and a bit of a walk if your friends decide to run off ahead and pick a spot furthest way from the free parking and you forgot your flip-flops... ok so that s an ouch.... think about it like this... lovely warm weather, seas a perfect temperature for a swim, great wild surroundings and its like you are walking on lego pieces all the way down the beach!! Right so… you have been warned! Its a lovely beach, we went in the afternoon so it was quiet , no kids , very peaceful and we decided to stay for a couple of hours and found it very very relaxing. For a beach that’s a little off the beaten track there is a restaurant, surf school and some amenities nearby , lots of lovely views and to be honest, it was worth the drive to to swim and relax for the afternoon. As for the plethora of pebbles and rocks… I walked back along the beach to the car park by wading in the sea… much better option…. So kiddies, if you come to this beach… bring footwear :)

The Roman Odeon of Kos, an open-air theater constructed in the 2nd century, features restored marble seating and galleries. Surrounding attractions include the Hippocrates tree, believed to have stood since ancient times when the renowned doctor taught his students under its shade. Other notable sites on the island include Ottoman mosques, buildings from the Italian occupation period, and historic landmarks like castles and churches.
An impressive site of historical importance. You can climb the steps and have a good view over the entire site. There are tunnels to explore underneath too. Good information written in Greek and English. And best of all it was free!
Toni B — Google review
You can feel the history of the Odeon as you walk up to it. It is only small but it is quite impressive. It only takes about half an hour or so to look around and take a few photos, but it's worth it. You don't need tickets to enter, and it is free of charge.
Derek B — Google review
I usually give ancient sites 5 stars, and while it is interesting, it's been over restored and looks like a modern seating area you'd find in a park. Apart from a few areas they left alone, and they're behind iron gates and inside you see modern office chairs which ruins the small amount of the truly ancient part of the site. It's easy to walk to if you're in Kos, and it's free which is really all that's good about it.
Brian M — Google review
Yesterday, I visited the Roman Odeon in Kos, an ancient auditorium dating back to the 2nd century AD that once served as the hub of public life with musical competitions, senate meetings, and civic celebrations. Some original marble seating remains, and the site has been thoughtfully restored since its discovery in 1929. Today, the Odeon is still part of Kos’s vibrant heritage—often hosting cultural events and exhibitions—and you can even explore the fascinating underground walkways where several remarkable statues were found during excavations. Plenty of information boards inside too.
James O — Google review
The Odeum of Kos is definitely worth a visit, especially since it’s free. The site itself is impressive, but what makes it even more interesting are the tunnels underneath. They give you a great insight into how the structure looked and functioned before it started to crumble over time. A short stop, but a fascinating glimpse into the island’s past.
Glen B — Google review
A well preserved theatre however being an Odeon it's much smaller than oter ancient theatres. Don't let that stop you exploring this place, the information panels in the restored vaulted passageways do an excellent job of telling the complete story of this structure - I especially liked the reconstruction drawing showing it in its glory.
Phillip M — Google review
This is about a 5 minute walk from the bus station in Kos Town. Quite quiet when I visited which was good. You can view under the steps too. They probably could have done a much better restoration job as the majority of steps / tiers look like concrete.

Mylotopi, located in Kos at the heart of Kefalos village near Kefalos Castle, offers a glimpse into the daily life of islanders from the past century and during the Italian possession of Dodecanese. The complex includes a bar, cafe, and restaurant reconstructed on an old village site with a restored windmill. Visitors can explore various places and experience local traditions.
Nice, modern / rustic location on top of the hill. Probably the best view in Kefalos. They also have really nice breakfast (especially pancakes), lunch and dinner.

We had a wonderful meal with our children at this beautiful, authentic restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant had a luxurious feel. After dessert, which included a delicious lava cake, we were taken on a complimentary tour. We admired the 400-year-old windmill and also visited an authentic Greek house and bakery. Leonidas was our guide, and it was wonderful to see how passionately he explained everything. We'll definitely eat here again next time we're on Kos.

Mylotopi is a truly wonderful place, would highly recommend to anyone here in Kefalos, and even worth a journey from elsewhere in Kos. Food was superb, a stunning location with wonderful views from high on the hilltop setting. Great cocktails, and such excellent service - both efficient and super friendly. They even came to pick us up from our hotel and took us back afterwards. Thank you to all for a beautiful evening - especially Dimitris who acted as chauffeur, host, local tour guide/ font of knowledge, and thoroughly lovely guy (as were all the staff). Thank you! Our tour guide Leonidas was brilliant and a very knowledgeable young lad with a passion for his role. Bar staff and waiter's and waitresses were very kind and pleasant to be around. Amazing little beach! Very-very clear water but it can be a little cold. Pebbly beach so water shoes are needed! Great for snorkeling especially near the bigger rocks - loads of fish. There are some sun beds - half are reserved for hotel quests but the rest are for public use. Can be quite expensive 30 euros for two, but you get great service, a cold bottle of water in ice tub, a drink (coffee or beer) and a towel for that money. It is very relaxing and quiet as well.

The service was excellent and the food was nice and not crazy prices. The beach is a mixture of dark sand/pebbles. We love snorkeling and this was a great spot for it as the water was crystal clear and swimming around the rocks we saw hundreds of fish!

The area also houses the archaeological Museum of Kos, featuring important sculptures and mosaics from different eras. underrated gem. some of the coolest ruins in town, well preserved wall art and a mosaic. you can also see a perfectly defined Roman road. must visit location.

Absolutely beautiful. You can literally walk through an ancient city and see mosaics, murals. Only downside is that it’s not very well preserved. You trust visitors to not destroy or scratch anything, and hope that it does not get worn down by the weather. I hope the city will try to preserve this beautiful place more carefully.
BlueRain — Google review
Beautiful spot to see all kinds of ruins of historical buildings and streets. This was the "main street" a very long time ago. Impressive when you look at today's street and see the difference, how much sand amd dust covered these ruins. In some spots you can still see beautiful mosaic flooring.

The terrain is easily walkable from the old city of Kos and open to the public. You can admire the archaeological site from up close, such as mosaics, pillars etc. Very beautiful and impressive! Be aware that there is little shade and no information tablets.

You have to wonder why this location is no where to be found on Google if you want to visite special places in Kos City. This is a large free to visite archeological digging site. The place is huge. To bad there is not much info on the site itselfs. Still, very beautifull to walk around and amaze yourself about ancient periods.

Stunning archaeological site, easily my favourite in Kos (and there are loads to choose from). It's free to access which is always nice. Look out for some incredible mosaics and and excellent example of a Roman road.
Stephen R — Google review
Incredible place to visit if you are into Ancient Roman & Hellenistic architecture/history! Free to enter, just check the opening times before you visit! I'm not sure why, but despite this being a major ancient archaeological site with alot to see, it doesn't seem well advertised at all & there isn't a huge amount of information about it online, even finding it's name was a bit of a tasj! "Western Archaeological Site" or "Kos ancient gymnasium" don't really allude to how worth the visit this site is! There's actually alot to see here, from the 1700 & 1800 year old roads (on which you can still see grooves worn into the stone by horse & carts nearing 2000 years ago!), to Roman thermae (baths), the gymnasium & it's remaining pillars as well as numerous other accompanying structures! There are still impressively well preserved tile mosaics & art on the walls as well, incredible!

The Archaeological Museum of Kos, established in 1936 during the Italian occupation, showcases a wealth of ancient island artifacts including sculptures and mosaics. Following extensive renovations funded by the EU, the museum reopened in September 2016. The distinctive building houses a collection that offers insight into the rich history and artistic legacy of ancient Kos.
Really enjoyed the museum, holds a massive amount of items from discoveries found across the island with plenty of detailed descriptions about their history. The only slight negative (and I may have missed them), I could have done with a guide book and I'm pretty certain there was no shop, I really wanted a book on the archeology of Kos. Regardless of that though it was a bright and informative way of keeping entertained whilst there was a massive early April thunderstorm going on outside, added to the atmosphere!
Allan C — Google review
I enjoyed the exhibition at this museum. However, for a ticket price of €10, it feels a bit steep, especially since the visit only takes about half an hour—or up to an hour if you take your time reading and sitting down. Overall, I would recommend it if you’re genuinely interested in the subject. But if you’re unsure, I wouldn’t advise going.

This two floor Museum is close to the harbor and Main Street of Kos. With reading mostly everything it took me about 45-minutes to get through. Interesting info but not laid out in any way that makes sense. Could have done a much better job. Does have a lot of the sculptures from the Roman Villa and from a few sites around Kos. Magic Mountain restaurant is a fantastic place to dine, offering warm hospitality and a family-friendly atmosphere. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed and cared for, particularly when it comes to accommodating young children. The management is professional, creating a pleasant dining experience. The quality of the food is excellent on both lunch and dinner visits, leaving customers truly impressed. Additionally, the restaurant boasts a beautiful terrace with breathtaking views of the sea and sunset.
Absolutely top service, food and views! We went in May, two days after re-opening so still not very busy but we reserved a table a few hours before the sunset. The food is the most incredible, homemade, delicious I've had in years. We had a delicious starter, two dishes of grilled meat, ice cream, homemade lemonade and 2 beers and paid very reasonably. The sunset experienced was the best we could wish. I picked this place after reading the reviews and whilst I can't speak about the others, magic mountain was as special as the sunset, and I mean it. Very happy.

My boyfriend and I randomly stopped for dinner at this incredible restaurant! The food was delicious and homemade, all the personnel is very professional and extra kind, and cherry on top the views are spectacular!! We had a lovely evening and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Zia. 5 stars well deserved! Sad we are leaving and can’t come back again to this beautiful restaurant. Thank you very much to all the personnel!

We came here for a wedding and the venue was perfect. Not only was the service and food exemplary but the staff went the extra to make the whole party feel magical. A truly unforgettable experience - with music, dancing, traditional Greek customs and new friendships made! Come for your special occasion or just to eat in a lovely place with stunning views. A big thank you to Yannis and all his staff for a job very well done! We shall return one day!

We had dinner at Magic Mountain mid July on a Saturday. Even though they had upcoming reservations, they managed to squeeze us in (2 people w/out reservation). It was a great place to watch the sunset ✨ We really enjoyed mezzes (tzachi, grilled feta), fish of the day (cipura in our case) and magic m salad. Also had 20 cl ouzo and the bill was around 56€ with all of these for 2, which was very fair for the quality of this place. The staff were super friendly too!

Nice restaurant in a great location. Being up in the mountain it has amazing sunset views, so it might get busy. The food was great, specially the lamb chops, and the service very polite. I guess internet reception isn’t the best there so bring cash because card payment might not work. All in all a great find.

Unfortunately this visit was a huge disapointment. The view was great, however the food (moussaka and pork souvlaki) was dry and king prawns were tasting off, tasting mold (!!). Maybe the power and water shortges of several hours has someting to do with the food quality. We have visited the restaurant 3 yeard ago and then everything was just perfect. Unfortunately this was our last time to visit this restaurant due to food quality.

After a heroic trek up the rugged path to Palio Pili Castle—part hike, part archaeological excavation—we were sweaty, hungry, and one poorly-placed rock away from collapsing into a dramatic heap. What we needed was dinner with a view, a chair that didn’t wobble, and preferably someone bringing carbs to our table. The restaurant across the street was fully booked (rude), so we tried our luck at Magic Mountain—and honestly, the universe did us a solid. Enter Yannis: part host, part miracle worker, full charm. With the kind of warm smile that says, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you,” he asked us to wait five minutes while he did some ancient Greek scroll-level navigating through the reservation book. The restaurant was clearly packed, but Yannis moved mountains (magic ones, presumably) and got us a table just like that. Already a win. The place itself? Absolutely adorable. Rustic charm, friendly energy, and a view of the sunset that was slightly obstructed but still totally romantic in a “this-is-what-the-gods-watch-while-eating-olives” kind of way. And then came the food. Oh, the food. We started with the homemade bread and tzatziki, which should frankly come with a warning label because you’ll want to eat your weight in both. The Greek salad was peak freshness—those tomatoes and cucumbers snapped with flavor like they were picked just moments before landing on the plate. But the star of the show? The Magic Mountain steak—a glorious slab of meat glazed with local honey and accompanied by some of the best steak fries this side of Olympus. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and emotionally healing. Everything—from the service to the setting to the lovingly grilled protein—was spot-on. If you’re in Zia and need a reward after hiking like a Mycenaean warrior, this is your place. Ask for Yannis. Tell him the people with the destroyed hiking shoes sent you.

We visited many good restaurants during our one week trip, where we could enjoy excellent foods in a beautiful environments. The exceptional attitude and attentiveness of the staff at this place gave it that extra something that makes me say that this dinner was the highlight of our stay. Island Life is a vibrant beach bar that embodies the essence of Kos, offering an inviting atmosphere filled with lively music and refreshing drinks. It's the perfect spot for sun-seekers looking to immerse themselves in the island's laid-back vibe. During our recent stay on this beautiful island, we discovered a charming apartment conveniently located near fantastic beach bars, restaurants, and taverns—just steps away from the sandy shores.
We loved the fish and the crab. The atmosphere is really chill unfortunately you cant see the sea because of the sunbeds. The waiters are very friendly the service is fast. We really didn’t have anything to complain about. As 2 turkish girls we enjoyed our time and everything was just in our taste.

Very nice beach, location and people. The personal is nice, kind and polite. The place is quiet. You can pick up your umbrella and choose something you want from menu. They have restaurant upstairs, and cook directly there. I came two or three times and remained satisfied. Recommend.

My partner and I visited Kos for a handful of days and decided to book this relatively new to the market apartment. We were not disappointed. The location was perfect, right next to amazing beach bars, restaurants and taverns. The beach was only a few steps away from us, fully equipped with sun beds, bar service etc. The apartment itself was fully equipped, apart from all the standard things one would expect, it also offered a washing machine, iron board/ iron, even a hairdryer with a diffuser ! Everyone working at the restaurant below was very friendly and chatty, they all went above and beyond to offer us a pleasant stay, helped us with airport transfer (highly recommended), offered suggestions as to where to dine and drink and gave us insights into the ins and outs of Kos. Giorgos and Maria made sure everything was spotless for us, Antonis, Zoe and Fatma cooked for us impeccable food, Dimitra and Christos kept the alcohol flowing. I'd highly recommend staying here for your next visit in Kos, the place combines everything anyone could possibly need ! PS. We recommend you get in touch with Giorgos once you book the apartment to arrange car rentals and/ or airport/port transfers if you need one. Much better prices than found elsewhere and definitely hassle free.

Quickly found this as our go to beach stop. Unlike the others along the front, the sunbeds are spaced out. Plenty of room and you aren’t crammed in like sardines. Really clean and modern. Facilities are top notch. Calm and chilled atmosphere - much quieter than others along the front - no shouting from staff at other staff. Food and drink is great, plenty to choose from and we found this really was the place to be. Certainly made our break a relaxing one.

Amazing beach club experience! I had an absolutely wonderful time at this beach club! From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed, stylish and incredibly welcoming. The staff were attentive, friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the day. The beach itself was stunning — crystal clear water and plenty of comfortable sunbeds to lounge on. The music created a perfect vibe, not too loud but just right to set the tone for a fun and chilled-out day. The food and drinks were also a highlight! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re into refreshing cocktails, healthy salads or something more indulgent the menu had a great selection for everyone. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the overall positive energy. It’s the kind of place where you can fully relax, enjoy good company, and soak in the sun. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended!

Amazing location, very romantic with the ocean view and super calm music. We went for dinner and had an amazing experience the waiter is suoer sweet, honest, and speaks fluent english. This is a place where you feel they are genuine and they are not trying to call you in from the street. The food was amazing and they have a special vegan gyros plate made from fried and well seasoned mushrooms (oyster mushrooms i believe). As a meat eater I think it tasted just like chicken so if you are vegan try it out!

Lovely beach, great food, delicious drinks and the best service. Antonio made us feel very welcome. We ate at about 2 o'clock in the restaurant. He asked us if we'd like to head to the beach afterwards. As we said yes, he reserved us a sunbed each and made sure we had everything we liked. Big reccomendation!

Nestled just east of Kos town, Hatziemmanouil Vineyards is a charming winery that promises an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts. This quaint vineyard invites visitors to embark on a self-guided tour, allowing you to explore its rich history and picturesque surroundings at your own pace.
Came here as part of a wine tour that we attended whilst on holiday in tigaki. The tour was very extensive. The tour guide explained to us about the types of grapes used in the wines, the fermentation process, how the wine gets it's colour, the machines used, absolutely all sorts. This was a very interesting tour and the host was lovely. We then got to taste 4 different wines, white, rose, red and dessert wine. We were also given a plate of bread, salami and cheese to share. we were allowed to walk around the vineyard and look at the grapes. It was a very good experience, would recommend this winery for people to attend. The wine tasted very good

Nice place to visit and take pictures of magnificent wine yards. However, you shouldn't trust what they say on their website. According to the information, they open May - October: Monday - Sunday, 09:00 - 20:00. However, on Sunday at 10:00 the door was closed, and there was nobody here. I tried to phone, but no one answered.

Best wine we tasted in Greece, and a beautiful terrace to enjoy a tasting as the sunsets, lovely vineyard with incredible views of the mountains, free to explore yourself rather than a guided tour. We turned up one afternoon without a booking and were warmly welcomed by the owners and staff, and the adorable Molly! The wine tasting is incredibly good value, only €15 for 8 wine samples (white, rose, red and dessert wine) and a small cheese/meat platter - definitely underselling themselves, we’d happily have paid €25-30 for this experience. A hidden gem that didn’t get too busy and had a fantastic view of the sunset. We spent the whole evening there, enjoyed a bottle of our favourite from the tasting and then bought another to take home. Thank you for a wonderful evening, our favourite find in Kos!

Paradise Beach is one of the many stunning beach options on the island of Kos. Located on the south side, it boasts golden sandy shores and clear turquoise waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and tranquility. This secluded beach offers exotic scenery and is known as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming in the crystal-clear shallows, or even partake in various optional water sports activities available.
The best beach in Kos. They have umbrellas and sunbeds to hire. €15 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. There is a beach bar on the beach with good value food, drinks and ice cream. The water is also very shallow and you can hire jet skis if you like. ⛱️🍦🏄🚤

Ghost town. Found a desolate beach with nothing open and rubbish strewn about everywhere. Very odd experience. Others had made the same trip in rentals and taxis, looking for "bubble beach", and all looked as bemused as we did. Don't make our mistake and make a special trip without knowing for sure it's up and running. Strangely we visited a week or so after several 5 star reviews had been posted, indicating all open...alas not. Check to avoid disappointment...

Nice beach, but if you turn up mid afternoon, the sunbed blokes will still charge you €15.... Get here early. 👍
Ian H — Google review
Pretty beach and calm place. 20 euro for two sun-beds all day. The water is very clear and even of the beach is full of sunbeds it never got too loud. There is little place left if you come without wanting to get a sunbed
Alice R — Google review
Steep walk down from the bus stop but worth it. Warm, clear sea. Plenty of sun beds (15e for two). Water sports just below Paradise Beach Bar (very reasonably priced - lovely gyros!) and a water park to the left. Between the two you will find the bubbles which are about 50m from the shoreline and marked with a blue buoy. Recommend you take a snorkel to full appreciate this phenomenon.
Sparkle143 — Google review
This beach is a tourist spot, and compared to other local beaches on the island, the sunbed fee is twice as expensive. For the money you pay, there is trash behind the sunbeds, which shouldn’t be there. This money for what?
Talu B — Google review

Took a 3 bay boat trip from kardamena. Booked through Harriet's travel. Such a lovely day had. BBQ lunch is provided on board. Cost us 80 euros for a family of three. Drinks can be brought on board. Bottle of water 1 euro, can of mythos or bottle of corona 4 euros each. Paradise beach was incredible, we were able to Jump from our boat and swim to the bubble area which is marked by a bouy. Took an underwater camera with me to capture the experience, there were other water based activities you can do at paradise/bubble beach.

Castle
Palaio Pyli Castle, also known as the Byzantine Castle of Old Pyli, is a historic site located on a hilltop near the village of Pyli. The castle overlooks the Aegean Sea and offers stunning views of neighboring islands and even parts of the Western Turkish Coast. This abandoned settlement is part of Mount Dikeois and provides a glimpse into the island's past, with ruins dating back to the Byzantine era.
Marvelous place with amazing views and interesting history shown in the different architectural features. A bit of s scramble up hill, no fences and people walk on roofs that have partly given way. The place is not protected and there are no guards. Therefore, visitors leave trash and do not show much respect towards the old structures. In my opinion the place is worth a fee for visiting to keep it safe and pretty.
Nina S — Google review
Visiting these ruins, you get a very good idea of the kind of very austere and cramped life the occupants lived as they watched out for assailants. Best visited in the evening, it takes around 30 minutes to walk up the hill. The path mainly takes the form of stone steps. If in doubt on the ascent, take the path that leads UP. Better to wear shoes with some grip, as the stones are well polished. The nearby village is worth a visit on the way down. Great views all round.
Rebecca P — Google review
Amazing place to visit, love that you can wander round freely. The views from the Taverna are spectacular! Avoid the person dressed in costume at the bottom, you don't have to pay them!
Martin L — Google review
Brilliant views, bit of a hike on on unmade path for the castle. We did manage to do in flip flops but would highly recommend more suitable footwear.
Danny T — Google review
Wonderful piece of history, abandoned town ruins, a taverna, and the castle. (Not accessible, many stone uneven steps, relative fitness required!) Stunning views, great to explore.
DK G — Google review
Wow! Possibly my favourite castle in the world. Where it is built is amazing, on a spire of rock which over looks the plains down to the coast. You can see the salt lake in Tigaki and Pserimos and Kalimnos islands. You park in a rough car park at the bottom and then take a 20 minute walk up through the forest, turn left for the castle at the ancient village and right for the taverna. The views were breath taking and you can see why the inhabitants built it here. The village is hidden from the coast by the rock. We had an early start due to the heat and after coming down from the castle we went to the taverna. What an amazing tranquil setting having breakfast and marvelling at the castle and surrounding mountain landscape. The toilets have no roof and are certainly unique. Wear trainers or some substantial footwear as the well worn rock is quite slippery and the track to the castle and taverna is quite rough. I would definitely come here again.
R ( — Google review
Visiting this place involves a bit of a hike with some elevation gain, especially if you are climbing all the way to the castle, so wear good shoes. You will see some amazing sights of the valleys below along the way. Bring water, especially if it is hot.
Andrew R — Google review
It's a must do if you're moderately capable of a 20 minute walk up a hill and back. Interesting history, poor signage though. Getting right to the top of the castle is something we left to the younger generation... It's quite a steep scramble up beyond the old village site, or so we gathered. What you must also is go to the Taverna up a side track (this much was signed), a further 10 minute easy walk up steepish old steps to an oasis of cold beer and Greek Salads. And from there you can see the youngsters on top of the castle beyond... Good on them, we said as we had another cold beer.

Pserimos is a small, hilly island with a low population and beautiful sandy beaches. Despite its remote and secluded nature, it attracts excursions from nearby islands like Kos and Kalymnos. However, once the day-trip passengers leave, the island becomes almost deserted, offering visitors a tranquil experience. The island features clear waters perfect for swimming and offers a few restaurants and bars for relaxation.
Totally stunning.Visited while on the 3 island boat trip on the Princess Diana boat from Kos old town. Worth every penny of the 20 Euros. The is land is beautiful with white sands and clear blue sea. Totally unspoiled clean. Prefect to relax explore and simply loose yourself. There are places to eat and buy drinks on the shoreline, but what makes this is the stunning coastline.

Amazing place that everyone should visit. Easy access by a ferry boat which you can get from Kalymnos island if you wish to avoid the touristic tours from Kos. Avoid August and preferably visit the island during September. Less people and better service from the locals.
Konstantinos T — Google review
Wonderful beach and water. Just 100m long but sandy and clean. Behind you restaurants, hotels, mini market and souvenir shops. Also a hiking destination and a small harbour for boats. A couple of times a day day-trip passengers from pirate boats are coming for about 1,5h for a swimming stop. They fill the beach completely. When they are gone it’s nice again ☺️
Anna L — Google review
Pserimos is absolutely one of the beautiful beaches! It’s a sand beach with the most amazing and clear water! When staying in Myrties/Massouri it’s hard to find a sand beach. To get to Pserimos you need to take a boat or ferry to the island. It’s really worth visiting!! On there island there is not much to do then just swimming in the water. It’s a quiet island with some restaurants and bars. It’s a very calm and relaxing island. Stay there for a night or two to really get unwired!
JP — Google review
Small island 5 kilometres east of Kalimnos is favourite destination for boats with tourists, making the island very tourist-oriented and thus lacking the spark it probably once held. There is one major café and few tourist shops with souvenirs, but nothing else. I would suggest climbing the stars on the northern side of the harbour, which will reward you with fantastic view of the bay.

Hippocrates Garden Kos is an attractive tourist spot that holds historical significance in the field of medicine. It was here that Hippocrates, a renowned figure in Medicine, conducted pioneering research on various types of water and their impact on overall health. He classified these waters as potable, saline (which included mineral spring water), and seawater. Additionally, Hippocrates investigated the effects of hot and cold baths on the human body and soul.

A great apartment in a beautiful location, with the perfect host. First of all make sure you hire a car, this place is accessed via a private road up a hill (I would guess at least a 20% incline), and make sure you have the car in 1st gear! Giorgos' place is on top of a hill along with 3 other villas, which provides stunning views of Kos town, other parts of the island, other greek islands and turkey. The apartment itself is part of Giorgos' house/villa and at the back of the property, but separate with you're own outside doors. From looking at other photos since last year a pool has been added, and the 2 single beds replaced with a king size bed. The apartment is spotless and basics are provided. Giorgos also left us a complimentary bottle of wine, a 6 pack of bottled water and some fruit, which was much appreciated, especially as it was a Sunday and most shops where shut. Giorgos greeted us when we arrived, and was available via WhatsApp throughout our stay. He is very friendly and welcoming and offered help wherever he could; on request he gave us some recommended places to eat in Kos town, and also a good place to park in Kos town, which we used most days. Although the apartment was on their property, Giorgos and his family never came around the back of the property which made it feel like our own private place which was great. We never got tired of the amazing views, especially the sunsets too. This is a fantastic peaceful place to stay, thank you Giorgos, and for making us feel so welcome!

Spotless clean place, Giorgos-kind, helpful person, breath taking view above all Kos, surounded by pure nature, every small detail its beeing chosen with a taste, bath its zen style-love it, all needed supplies for kitchen, a plenty of space to park your car in the yard, small oliv tree garden i front of the terrace. You need to call Giorgos to show you the way to his place, its new hill area.Ooo by the way the best thing no TV- was amaizing disconecton from the crazy world, full relaxation. Internet its very good. Bath linens so clean and smelling nice, fresh, ironed, very soft greek cotton towels(you should sell them Yorgos😉) We planning to go back already. Its good place also for people who coming for business in Kos. Water in the fridge and basket with fruites was super addition of this beautiful place.
