Casa Romana is an ancient Roman villa that has been restored and now houses two floors of art, including mosaics, frescoes, and sculptures. The museum was originally founded in 1936 by the Italians and has recently undergone significant improvements funded largely by the EU. These enhancements include improved signage, restoration of fallen columns, and new exhibitions at Casa Romana and the small Epigraphical Museum beside the Asclepieion.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to see the inside, the credit card machine was down and they couldn’t break our 50euros Make sure to have the exact change just in case! Winter time tickets are 3euros per person and I believe during summer it is 6 euros per person.

If you’re wondering what to see in Kos – this is definitely a place worth visiting. It offers interesting facts and information that you can explore on site. A great spot for both tourists and curious visitors. Highly recommended!
Maria S — Google review
Well worth the 10 euro (each for adults) entrance fee. So much history at this place & it is quite large. Beautiful statues and mosaics amongst other artifacts. Lots of written information about each section in Greek and English. Incredibly good job that has been done of restoring this fabulous building.
Toni B — Google review
Visited here last year. Perfectly renovated Roman Villa with interesting archeological remnants. A must place to visit if you are in Kos.
Mete D — Google review
Rather disappointed ..Not worth 10 euros.unkept and Desolate. Needs maintance and care. could have been restored much more attentively and efficiently. Such a shame! : (
Jessica E — Google review
You really get to appreciate the scale of a Roman Villa house. The reconstruction brings scale and helps the imagination understand how Romans inhabited their house. Plenty of interesting information panels and it's fascinating to see restored mosaics and wall decorations that bring immediacy to the written details. If you like Roman houses and want to get a feel of their lifestyle, this museum does an awesome job of doing that.

Had some time spare before my coach picked me up, so I came to view Casa Romana. It cost €6 to enter, which was reasonable. It was really interesting, I thoroughly enjoyed walking around

The Hippocrates Plane Tree is a serene location featuring a large plane tree, where legend has it that the renowned physician Hippocrates taught his students. This ancient site is surrounded by various attractions such as the Gymnasium from the Hellenistic period, Casa Romana, Roman Odeon, Ottoman mosques, and structures from the Italian occupation.
You can enter right from street by the government building by the ocean, with a busstop nearby. It is also close to the old castle and the harbour. There is not much to see but with anything else, it is still always good to witness some history in some form.
Caroline N — Google review
The Hippocrates Tree is a lovely spot to visit in Kos Town. It offers a nice bit of nature and a chance to learn some of the history behind Hippocrates and his connection to the island. Overall, it also gives you a nice overview of the bay area, making it a pleasant stop while exploring the town.
Glen B — Google review
To visit the possible birthplace of modern medical understanding , to take shade under the descendent sibling of that once great tree who play host to the great minds of antiquity can not be fully described! It must be felt..
Adrik C — Google review
It’s a tree. Nothing to tree here I’m afraid. Pointless. Even the ruins around here aren’t that great, not very well maintained. It killed 5 minutes before I found something better.
Chris ( — Google review
To be honest it's a tree. A very old tree. Held up with scaffolding. However it is a quiet shady spot and how could you visit Kos and not go and see it given the world wide medical culture that arose on this spot (allegedly).
Kim H — Google review
Perfect spot, surrounded by some old Greek buildings and the oldest tree lit with light. Fantastic entertainment which totally set the mood. Service was excellent and my sea bass was delicious. Restaurant is more pricey than others in the town but if you are wanting some evening ambiance with a touch of class away from the tourist area this is the place.
Sophie C — Google review
It's not the best best sightseeing experience we've had. The tree is not actually the tree that Hippocrates taught his students as it is only around 500 years old. Although it is thought to be a descendant of the original tree.
Derek B — Google review
Well...the scaffolding ruins the surroundings and tree itself. It's a shame. A must visit of course, but once in a lifetime thing.

Outdoor Activities
Lambi Beach, located about 2 km north of Kos Town, is a popular spot with a mix of sand and pebbles. It's known for its vibrant nightlife scene and the nearby Mylos Beach Bar, which hosts events featuring both national and international DJs. The beach offers lounge chair rentals and is surrounded by bars and clubs that cater to a younger crowd.
the water is so clean and so is the sand, the boats and ships can sometimes make the water choppy and a bit dangerous, but if you spent a very strong swimmer you don't meed to just stay next to the shore as the water goes deep slowly it's good, if you are in kos I recommend going there! Just across the sea you can see turkey (I think 😅)
Freya B — Google review
There are sand and stone areas with lovely, clear water and turquoise water. Parts are sheltered with trees and along the whole stretch there are areas with sun loungers to hire, some of which are private for hotels close by. There are beach bars, too.
Nad C — Google review
A nice beach. Surprisingly the umbrellas and beds were free. You can have drinks and snacks from nearby bars and restaurants.
George A — Google review
Great choice of sun beds. Some free but you buy drinks. Banana beach brilliant 4.50 per bed. Super comfy mattress. Use of toilet at heaven beach bar
Chris — Google review
Clean beautiful beach , i enjoyed there. We ordered strawberry and mango smoothie. The one with strawberry didn’t taste that good. The only thing i didn’t like was that there weren’t enough space between the sun-beds.
Alic — Google review
Beach that runs from Kos up and around the headland. Lots of bar lounger plenty of space . Not very wide but a shallow waterline.
Ian B — Google review
There's a city bus that goes from Kos town to Lambi. You can also walk there (15-20 min), or ride a bike since it's only about 1-2 km from Kos port. Rather desolate beach in April; during high season it becomes overly commercial, all covered in restaurant sunbeds. There is no shade, and the sand is course, and dirty, certainly not very inviting, hence the numerous sunbed rentals all along this rather ugly beach. Nothing worth seeing at Lambi. If you strain your eyes, you can vaguely make out the Turkish coast in the distance, through the haze. But you can do so from almost anywhere in Kos town.
Globe T — Google review
Nice beach, it is more rocky than sandy. View is amazing. You can find free sunbeds at Heaven.

Museums
History Museums
The Archaeological Museum of Kos, established in 1936 during the Italian occupation, showcases a wealth of ancient island artifacts including sculptures and mosaics. Following extensive renovations funded by the EU, the museum reopened in September 2016. The distinctive building houses a collection that offers insight into the rich history and artistic legacy of ancient Kos.
Really enjoyed the museum, holds a massive amount of items from discoveries found across the island with plenty of detailed descriptions about their history. The only slight negative (and I may have missed them), I could have done with a guide book and I'm pretty certain there was no shop, I really wanted a book on the archeology of Kos. Regardless of that though it was a bright and informative way of keeping entertained whilst there was a massive early April thunderstorm going on outside, added to the atmosphere!
Allan C — Google review
I enjoyed the exhibition at this museum. However, for a ticket price of €10, it feels a bit steep, especially since the visit only takes about half an hour—or up to an hour if you take your time reading and sitting down. Overall, I would recommend it if you’re genuinely interested in the subject. But if you’re unsure, I wouldn’t advise going.
Glen B — Google review
It's only open on certain days, luckily we got there on a weekday where it was open. The site is beautifully restored with some good explanations. If you're in kos island and have some time swing by this ancient marble. You should give a chance
KampRitmi — Google review
A very beautiful place where you can see the history and ancient ruins of Kos Island. I recommend it — if you are a student, it’s free.
Talu B — Google review
Visited midweek. Small museum covering some of Kos amazing history. Unfortunately it didn't appear to be in chronological order and cost €10. I would strongly suggest that Kos place information signs on the numerous historical sites around the town to explain the significance of what just appears to be a load of rubble.
Ron H — Google review

Agree with other comments on the price. It’s a good stop if you are interested in the architecture and statues. We found it very informative but overall took us 30 mins to do the whole museum for €10 per adult.
Charlotte C — Google review
Great little museum with 2 floors and a cheap entry price of 10 euros. Very informative signs help you understand what you're viewing. The statues of Nike and Dionysus are particular highlights

Island
Kos is a picturesque island in the Dodecanese archipelago, known for its sandy beaches and rich history showcased through Greek and Roman ruins. The island offers a culinary experience that highlights local products, such as fried Feta cheese wrapped in filo pastry with Kalymnian thyme honey, grilled Talagani cheese with sweet tomato marmalade from Kos, and fresh seafood like Ceviche made from smoked White Tuna by Kalymnian fishermen.
Kos island a great place to visit large number of beaches. Kos town and harbour we'll worth a visit wide variety of boat trips set off from here. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from se veiw hotel is a place we stopped at just on the out skirts of Kadema nice friendly run hotel.
Brian G — Google review
Was over in Kos Island recently for a conference, and I’ve to say, it’s a smashing place altogether. Even with a packed schedule, I managed to steal a bit of time to explore, and I’m glad I did. The island’s full of gorgeous beaches - honestly, you’re never too far from the sea - and Kos Town itself is well worth a wander. The harbour’s lively, with all sorts of boat trips heading out daily, from gentle cruises to a bit more adventure if that’s your thing. There’s no shortage of places to eat or grab a drink, and the whole place has this relaxed, welcoming vibe. What surprised me most, though, was how much history is packed in - from ancient Greek temples and Roman mosaics to the castle at the harbour and the famed tree of Hippocrates. You don’t have to be a history buff to appreciate it - it’s all there in the open, woven into daily life. All in all, Kos has that perfect balance of work, wander, and a bit of wonder - I’d go back in a heartbeat, conference or no conference.

We stopped at Kouros Palace Hotel, which is a 20-minute transfer from the airport. This might sound terrible, but the planes only take off certain times of the day, and with long gaps between The hotel is very clean, and the staff go out of their way to help. Two decent size pools and also a paddling pool. The hotel also offers a great private beach front with its own bar and fresh cooked food. The hotel is situated 2 miles from the nearest town of Mastichari, which also provides food and drink. If your looking to find a hotel to unwind this was well worth its money. The only negative comment that I do have about the hotel was the repetitive evening meal choice. Greek night on the Saturday was outstanding ,with fresh cooked Lamb chops and pork cooked on the hot plates
Jason G — Google review
What a place ,amazing ,kos main town was the absolute fabulous place worth every bit of time we spent there ,old town it fabulous aswell can't wait to come back ,made so many friends (to keep in touch) friends family old or young this place as it all
Roselyn B — Google review
A beautiful island with friendly locals, delicious food and lots to see and do. I enjoyed a relaxed week here and will return.
Jack — Google review
Castle is free to visit albeit not as spectacular as Bodrum Castle in Turkey but it's worth a look. We loved the main square but food and drink is pricey, we enjoyed the pretty side streets and found much better value there - the Ambrosia is recommended.
Paul J — Google review
Another beautiful Greek island that really has it all: beautiful beaches, interesting towns and good people! Whether you're here just for vacation or nightlife, to enjoy the architecture or food and drink, you're in the right place. I recommend accommodation in Kos town and then a tour by rental car or Ktel (bus) which works perfectly. Enjoy!

Beach
Psalidi Beach is located on the east coast of Kos Island and offers a long stretch of coarse, gravelly sand perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and windsurfing. Just a short drive from Kos Town, this popular spot is backed by restaurants, cafes, and bars. The beach features rocky underwater terrain and small coves ideal for snorkeling adventures. Visitors can expect soft sand and clear waters suitable for various water sports.
Beautiful in early October. Warm water. Ne need to use and rent the sunbeds if you're happier on gentle sloped pebble beach. Swim with goggles to see the fish.
Nigel P — Google review
A nice and long beach with multiple options of sunbeds along the way. The beach is mostly pebbles and if it's windy, there are waves that can make it a bit hard to stand your ground. The ocean gets deep quite fast and is not clear enough to go snorkeling. Well cleaned beach when I visited. There are watersport options at this beach too as well as bars and restaurants along the beach.
Caroline N — Google review
Nice sandy beach without any trash, clean with good beach bar - If you need refreshment Ben from Kipriotis hotel is here. Only thing, not so good, is wind every day.
Asdad A — Google review
Shale beach but lovely and clean . A few different sea front cafes bars .sunbeds avail Enjoyed a day there
Anthony W — Google review
Nice and chilling place!
Konrad L — Google review
The ground under the water gets deep very quickly, you need water shoes, rocks everywhere, no sand for building (a bit of sand)
Beaver — Google review
Not perfect sand but in one way less irritating as its easy to brush off, nice view and nice breeze. Sea can get quite rough so not ideal for nervous swimmers. Sunbeds connected to the Mitsis are nice and drinks get brought to your position on the beach. Beach bar and restaurant serving burgers and pork and chicken kebabs in a pitta decent and gets busy. Toilets- not great and a bit smelly!
Julian B — Google review
I wouldn’t waste my time here. Beach is very dirty because of the tourists; water is not very clear and has lots of sea grass, so snorkeling is a bit sad; and view is ok. Rather go to the south west side of the island, there are much better beaches there

Ancient Ruins
The Roman Odeon of Kos, an open-air theater constructed in the 2nd century, features restored marble seating and galleries. Surrounding attractions include the Hippocrates tree, believed to have stood since ancient times when the renowned doctor taught his students under its shade. Other notable sites on the island include Ottoman mosques, buildings from the Italian occupation period, and historic landmarks like castles and churches.
An impressive site of historical importance. You can climb the steps and have a good view over the entire site. There are tunnels to explore underneath too. Good information written in Greek and English. And best of all it was free!
Toni B — Google review
You can feel the history of the Odeon as you walk up to it. It is only small but it is quite impressive. It only takes about half an hour or so to look around and take a few photos, but it's worth it. You don't need tickets to enter, and it is free of charge.
Derek B — Google review
I usually give ancient sites 5 stars, and while it is interesting, it's been over restored and looks like a modern seating area you'd find in a park. Apart from a few areas they left alone, and they're behind iron gates and inside you see modern office chairs which ruins the small amount of the truly ancient part of the site. It's easy to walk to if you're in Kos, and it's free which is really all that's good about it.
Brian M — Google review
Yesterday, I visited the Roman Odeon in Kos, an ancient auditorium dating back to the 2nd century AD that once served as the hub of public life with musical competitions, senate meetings, and civic celebrations. Some original marble seating remains, and the site has been thoughtfully restored since its discovery in 1929. Today, the Odeon is still part of Kos’s vibrant heritage—often hosting cultural events and exhibitions—and you can even explore the fascinating underground walkways where several remarkable statues were found during excavations. Plenty of information boards inside too.
James O — Google review
The Odeum of Kos is definitely worth a visit, especially since it’s free. The site itself is impressive, but what makes it even more interesting are the tunnels underneath. They give you a great insight into how the structure looked and functioned before it started to crumble over time. A short stop, but a fascinating glimpse into the island’s past.
Glen B — Google review
A well preserved theatre however being an Odeon it's much smaller than oter ancient theatres. Don't let that stop you exploring this place, the information panels in the restored vaulted passageways do an excellent job of telling the complete story of this structure - I especially liked the reconstruction drawing showing it in its glory.
Phillip M — Google review
This is about a 5 minute walk from the bus station in Kos Town. Quite quiet when I visited which was good. You can view under the steps too. They probably could have done a much better restoration job as the majority of steps / tiers look like concrete.
Ed J — Google review

This is such an interesting place to visit when in Kos town. The ensure of an old market place, there are plenty of ruins to walk round and see up close. We visited 25 years ago and now again ton July 2025. Definitely worth a visit.
Emma R — Google review
The ancient agora is a sight to behold. Although it is not as well maintained as the Roman Odeon in my opinion, there is weed everywhere and some of the signs appear to be missing, you can still feel the history present in this place. Walking through it is a nice experience and with free access during daytime, something that you shouldn't skip when in Kos town.
Lars — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting the Ancient Agora in Kos. It’s free to enter, which is a great bonus, and it’s fascinating to walk among the ruins and imagine what life was like thousands of years ago. It’s not a huge site, but it’s a fun way to step back in time and get a glimpse of the island’s rich history. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Kos Town.

I left a similar review on the sanctuary of arophdite. It is odd to review ruins as they are always special. What I mean to say is it is a real shame there is no information to be able to understand and seperate out the history of each area. I am not sure why this site is not maintained for what it could be, it seems in the past there were information boards that have now been removed. It was free, but I would have absolutely paid for greater upkeep and information

Fortress
Nerantzia Castle, also known as the Castle of the Knights, is a 14th-century fortress located by the seaside in Kos. The castle offers stunning views of Kos harbor and is surrounded by sculptures. The area around Kos Town has significant historical sites from Hellenistic and Roman times, including public buildings and residential areas. The town was carefully planned to incorporate these excavations into its structure, creating open spaces and a new central square with unique architectural styles.
Visiting this place during my trip to Kos was a delight. It offers fantastic photo opportunities while exploring. History enthusiasts will particularly enjoy this site. A leisurely stroll takes about an hour, or an hour and a half if you stop to take pictures. On the top of the castle provides stunning views of Kos. It's advisable to bring a drink with you, as there were no facilities inside during our visit. The remnants of damage from a past earthquake are visible. Entry was free when I went. Convenient parking is available nearby, so there's little walking required. The locals are quite welcoming. I liked it so much that I visited twice.
T.H. G — Google review
Would of like to explore this place but like most of kos structures and monuments they are either closed or abandoned with no information. Seems most of it is need of a massive influx of cash to get them back to some of way that tourist can visit and learn the history
Shaun E — Google review
I would happily pay couple of euros each to come into this fine place. A combination of modern and mythological history situated in the heart of Kos, for any history buff this is an amazing walk. As said it is free with local eateries nearby on the harbour. Please explore it is safe go down the unlit tunnels and let your inner kid go wild with enjoyment. Wish for more educational aspects to it as I was explaining to many the parts of the building and how some of it was changed to incorporate the use of it during ww2
George C — Google review
Entrance to castle and walls from outside look really very beautiful. Unfortunatelly inside is not any exhibition. Which is very sad, it would be awesome place for museumabout history of castle. You can go around castle (part of walls are closed because they are collapsing) and take pictures of beautiful views.

Lots of stones. Without any historical background or a tourist guide you won't know (just like myself) what's going on, what I'm watching or why it's there. One of many attractions but I didn't really know what's what. Free entry for everyone

If you're a nature enthusiast looking for new experiences, Kos Island has a plethora of activities to offer. Whether you're a laid-back traveler or an adventure seeker, there are numerous ways to immerse yourself in the island's natural beauty. One must-visit destination for movie lovers is Orfeas Open Air Cinema, located at Liberty Square in Kos Town during the summer and at Fenaretis 3.
Lovely open air cinema! This is the real ‘Greek summer night’ experience. The bar has everything you need at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Really great place, very friendly and lively to be outdoors. Loved seeing all the locals watching a film in English. Only complaints were the seats became very uncomfortable after a couple of hours, and the sounds of teenagers munching popcorn non stop behind us 🤣 . But go, it's a great experience, if only to realise how good other cultures are at languages, and its just nice watching a film outside in the warmth of a summers evening 😀

We came here to watch The Little Mermaid and it was such a nice experience. The staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable. For anyone from the UK - €13 for a popcorn, sweets, a coke and a beer is a steal! The setting was really nice, with low lighting etc, and the screen and sound quality exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend this place for an evening in Kos town.

Agios Fokas Beach is a stunning gem located just south of the lively Kos Town, nestled near the tranquil Psalidi area. This picturesque pebble beach boasts crystal-clear waters and an inviting atmosphere that caters to all types of beachgoers. With its organized sections featuring comfortable sunbeds and umbrellas, visitors can enjoy modern conveniences while also finding quieter spots for a more serene experience.
Water crystal clear, some fish in the sea to view with your snorkel, water temp slightly cooler than another places at 23c, but still very comfortable, food and drinks service and free wifi. What more could you want to relax with at a beach.
Peter M — Google review
Amazing little beach! Very-very clear water but it can be a little cold. Pebbly beach so water shoes are needed! Great for snorkeling especially near the bigger rocks - loads of fish. There are some sun beds - half are reserved for hotel quests but the rest are for public use. Can be quite expensive 30 euros for two, but you get great service, a cold bottle of water in ice tub, a drink (coffee or beer) and a towel for that money. It is very relaxing and quiet as well.
Birgit T — Google review
The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with stone beach and clear water that make it the perfect place to relax. The view is stunning, especially at sunset, and the beach is well-maintained and clean.
Knnie Ö — Google review
Went to Agios Fokas yesterday. There is a fabulous new bar there that is part of the hotel. Sunbeds are very comfortable and are free as long as you eat/drink something. The service was excellent and the food was nice and not crazy prices. The beach is a mixture of dark sand/pebbles. We love snorkeling and this was a great spot for it as the water was crystal clear and swimming around the rocks we saw hundreds of fish!
Allie G — Google review
Great beach, worth a visit. The sunbeds to be hired to non-hotel guests are limited, so you should be lucky to find one. Still the atmosphere and food was great
Serkan Ş — Google review
One of the best beach in Kos island. The sea here is quite and comfortable for swim. No wind and beautiful view. The plaice is free. But you are welcome to order some tasty salats or pizza from the guys. They have bar and kitchen with is serve for enjoyment after relaxing swimming. Here you can find shower and toilet. Everything is works and cared. Do not miss this place, I’m sure you will like it.

Historical landmark
The Ancient Gymnasium in Kos is a part of a larger complex of Hellenistic and Roman remains. It was where athletes competed in ancient times, and the structure had 64 columns, with 17 restored, and a massive white marble roof. The site also includes Casa Romana, a well-preserved mansion from the second century, resembling those found in Pompeii. Visitors can explore other nearby attractions such as the Roman Odeon and the Ancient Temple of Dionysos.
The Ancient Gymnasium is another fascinating historical site in Kos, and like the Odeum, it’s free to visit. The large remains of four pillars—likely part of the building’s original façade—are especially striking, and there are several smaller ruins scattered around the area that are worth seeing. Together with the Odeum, it’s one of the best-preserved and most interesting archaeological sites on the island. Definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring Kos Town.
Glen B — Google review
Looks really interesting from the outside but unfortunately when we visited (April) the gates where shut and everything was overgrown. Still lots of items standing but also a shame to see so many blocks and pillars etc fallen over on the floor. I can see from previous reviews you can get into this place in the past with shrubs cut back, hopefully this is the case again in the future so this place can be enjoyed and seen more close up.
Matt H — Google review
Again, closed on a Tuesday for some bizarre reason, like all the archaeological sites it Kos town. This is a large site which also contains the hippodrome baths, etc, which you would expect to find in an old Greek/Roman Gymnasium. It's overgrown in part but nonetheless impressive site. Free entry
Dave T — Google review
A very nice ancient city it could be better as there are lots of trash but it's reserved very nice
Talu B — Google review
A lot of the structures are still in place. The gymnasium was part of an ancient complex consisting of the Acropoli, the Hippodrome, the Nymphaeum. A couple of temples to Aphrodite and Hercules were also here. It's free to visit and roam around the ruins, but don't expect to see any information on them.
Lucian M — Google review
Fascinating place! Two Roman roads and incredible mosaics!! Entry is free of charge
Michael P — Google review
Quite a shame really as this area was heavily overgrown with weeds. I understand it’s free but I’d figure local gov would at least keep things tidy. Not sure if there was any posts explaining what things were but I looked them up later.

Most of the mosaics were covered which was disappointing but understandable due to foot traffic and sun still some good things to see and few to access

Historical landmark
The Sanctuary of Aphrodite, a remarkable historical site located at the entrance of the ancient harbor, dates back to the late 3rd or early 2nd century BC. Constructed on an artificial embankment nearly three meters high, this sanctuary was dedicated to Aphrodite, who served as both protector and patroness of love and marriage in Kos. Newlyweds were known to offer sacrifices here as part of their celebrations.
(Translated by Google) It was the city's trade, market and socializing place in ancient times. It was built in the 4th century BC and the first excavations started in 1933. What is most impressive is that the main structures of the city are still underground and waiting to be discovered. (Original) Antik çağda şehrin ticaret, pazar ve sosyalleşme yeridir. (Translated by Google) Visiting the Sanctuary of Aphrodite in Kos takes you back in time to ancient Greece. This strategically located ruin, right at the entrance to the port, was once a key place of worship for the goddess of love. You will see the remains of two temples and altars dedicated to Aphrodite as the protector of the people and patron of sailors. Despite the destruction, this place still allows you to imagine ancient ceremonies and feel the spirit of history. Perfect for lovers of archaeology and mythology. Mimo zniszczeń, miejsce to nadal pozwala wyobrazić sobie dawne ceremonie i poczuć ducha historii. Idealne dla miłośników archeologii i mitologii.

It is a random walk around to see stones and such. I have just now thanks to Google realised what we have witnessed. But some cool spots to sit down or take pictures so we surely enjoyed it.
Miroslav M — Google review
It feels a little strange to review ruins, which are always a special place to visit, so what I mean to express with my 3 stars, is the lack of information and what it is you might be looking at/how each area was used. I had hoped to be able to see the ruins of the sanctuary of aphrodite and the one of hercules, as well as of course the agora itself. But, because there are no signs or information, you cannot identify each individual area for its own unique history. It was free to enter which I suppose explains this. I would have happily paid if the visit came with more information

The Hellenistic Gymnasium in Kos is a fascinating archaeological site that offers a glimpse into ancient athletic and leisure activities. The ruins include the so-called Carved Street, where athletes exercised, as well as a well-preserved swimming pool. Visitors can explore columns and floor mosaics that are sheltered from the sun. The site also features remnants of underfloor heating, drainage systems, and plumbing in the villa rewind. With free entry and open access until 6:30 p.m.
What an absolutely brilliant and amazing site. There is still paint on the walls in the villa rewind, you can see where the underfloor heating, drainage and plumbing was installed. There is a large swimming pool, with plunge pools and loads of columns and doorways to explore! I would recommend this to everyone.

The Early Christian Basilica of Saint Gabriel is a fascinating archaeological site that offers a glimpse into the past. Discovered by Italian archaeologists in 1935, this early Byzantine basilica was originally situated in an area prone to flooding, leading to its eventual abandonment. Although much of its valuable artifacts have been relocated to museums, visitors can still admire the picturesque ruins that remain on-site.
Beautiful remains of an early christian basilica. Unfortunately this archaeological site seems to be abandoned and is quite unmaintained. At least the grass seems to have been mowed, so entry was easy. There are still some beautiful remains of the original stoneworks and some very well preserved columns. The site can be visited free of charge.
Harry's W — Google review
I wish this had been better maintained, the grass is overgrown and there is rubbish everywhere. For such a special place, it is a great shame. Some of the ruins are actually in a good condition and I enjoyed sitting and spending time there. Lots of butterflies and lizards around. My 3 stars are due to the rubbish and lack of information about the history, this site could be so much more

Great experience and well worth a cycle down from the city. You can park your bike safely. Well-maintained, mixed difficulty 16 hole course. €18 included the golf & Mythos+Coke cans. Paradiso Beach is a true gem on the island of Kos, boasting stunning white sands that stretch for miles, framed by lush greenery and dramatic rocky cliffs. Located about 33 kilometers from Kos town, this beach is often referred to as 'bubble beach' due to the volcanic gases that create bubbles in the water. While it may be a bit challenging to access, this adds to its charm and keeps crowds at bay.
Literally the cutest beach 🥹 we paid €6 for all day sunbed, one drink, showers, inflatables, toilets (super clean too) and just the best vibes!! Very relaxing music and the ladies working there were so welcoming and friendly!! We can't wait to go back 🩷

And lastly, their are a lot of cats. 1 in particular took a liking to my partner and slept under his chair whilst we had a drink 🥰
