Stamperia Artigiana Marchi dal 1633 is a historic shop in Santarcangelo known for its unique souvenirs like tablecloths and aprons made using rust printing blocks. The shop still uses a mangle from the seventeenth century, which is the only one of its size and weight in the world. They are famous for their craftsmanship, using a 5-ton wheel from 1633 operated by walking inside it to print textiles by hand.
This amazing artisanal print-making shop uses a 400-year-old mangle and wooden printing blocks to produce beautiful fabrics to turn into tea towels, tablecloths and furnishings, just as it was done generations ago. As well as browsing the beautiful little shop in the historic centre of medieval Santarcangelo, you can also tour their production area and get up close to that enormous mangle. Fascinating!

This business is the tip of the class in every category. The products are out of this world and their customer service is u believable. I recommend doing business with this company. Just the history behind their product is amazing. What wonderful people.
Kris — Google review
Such a wonderful unique place. One of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The owners were so kind, gave us a full private tour of the printing machine and showed us everything behind the scenes. We bought a gorgeous table runner that will be forever treasured.
Sunshine C — Google review
Recently, I happened to catch a past episode of Italy Made with Love on PBS and was fascinated with the old world fabric printing techniques of Stamperia Marchi. With a few clicks (and PayPal), a week later, I had three of the Marchi tea towels in my hands in the Midwest United States. They arrived quickly and beautifully wrapped. And they are gorgeous! Thank you so much for carrying on this incredible work!
Kellie P — Google review
We love our kitchen towel and hand towel and face cloth for the bath! They are lovely to look at and to touch, we will enjoy them for a long time. Thank you for your craftsmanship and passion it shows! We are sure to order more!
Ellen F — Google review
I saw a documentary about Stamperia di Marchi and was amazed at the craftsmanship and their history and story. They are using a 5- ton wheel from 1633 operated by walking inside it. They print textiles by hand. The tools are ancient. So I found them on the internet and had to order something! They responded immediately. They custom made beautiful linens for us. We are absolutely amazed at their craftsmanship. Lara answered all my questions immediately and was superb at communication. The prices are very reasonable. They shipped our products within a couple weeks, beautifully wrapped. This is a one-of-a-kind shop in this world. We are honored to have their linens in our home!💕
Ann M — Google review
I found out about Marchi via my local PBS station, which included the business in a documentary. I checked out their website and found a charming apron with a fish motif that would be perfect for my son's GF, who is a fish biologist and very creative. I knew she would appreciate the artistry. I just received the apron - it is fabulous! Can't wait to gift it to her and to purchase other stunning textiles from this wonderful family business.
Denise R — Google review
Very happy with the products I ordered. Beautifully made, very good quality. The ordering and international shipping went very well, and they were also packaged nicely. (Great bonus!) Definitely recommend, as Marchi care about their craftsmanship and their customers.

Nestled in the charming town of Santarcangelo, Ristorante Lazaroun stands out as a beloved dining destination within the Rimini hinterland. This family-run establishment has been serving traditional dishes since 1965, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the region with a sophisticated twist. Guests can expect an inviting atmosphere where delicious flavors and impeccable service come together to create memorable meals.
Amazing service and delicious food. I spent the evening of my birthday at this restaurant and not only was the food incredible but the service was impeccable too. I would highly recommend it. We sat on the terrace outside and it was lovely.

Great restaurant to try when in Santarcangelo di Romagna. Excellent food and very good service. They produce their own cheeses right on the premises in their own cave below the restaurant. A must visit restaurant when in this town.
Scot S — Google review
An absolutely fantastic dining experience! The food was fabulous, bursting with flavour and made with excellent quality ingredients. Every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. A great place for anyone who truly appreciates delightful, well-crafted food. Highly recommended!
Ciprian V — Google review
I highly recommend this restaurant which is part of a beautifully restored ancient residence in the historic village of Santarcangelo di Romagna run by brother and sister Sabrina and Roberto. Food, wine, service and ambience (overseen by Roberto) at both Ristorante Lazaroun and adjoining sister venue La Salumaia are all excellent. Be sure to ask for a tour of the tufa caves below them for ageing cheese and salumi.
Roberta M — Google review
The food was delicious and the service impeccable—very patient and even German-speaking, which we greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall great experience was somewhat diminished at the end. Our son had a painful foot injury and, since it was raining heavily that day, I decided to pick him up by car. The restaurant is located inside a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so I asked the owner if he could register my license plate to avoid a fine. His response was not only unhelpful but also quite rude. Sadly, this lack of support overshadowed an otherwise wonderful visit. His unprofessional replies to other negative reviews reflect a similar attitude.

Business trip. Good food, good service and good company.

Amazing local dishes, friendly staff, high quality produce - very pretty square and romantic / rustic atmosphere. Nice organic and regional wines, too. Impressive grotto in which they ripen their own homemade cheese. This can then also be bought in the salumeria next door. Very worth a visit and excursion to this lovely village. Combine with a stroll.

Nel Mondo Di Tonino Guerra is an art museum located in Santarcangelo di Romagna, specifically in Piazza Ganganelli. One of its main attractions is the Fontana della Pigna, a symbol of femininity and fertility. This fountain was conceived by Tonino Guerra, a renowned poet and figure who spent his entire life in this town. The museum showcases evocative and colorful artworks that reflect Tonino's world.
(Translated by Google) The museum is small. Free admission. Open until 18:00. In the first hall they show a film about Tonino in Italian, with English subtitles. Music from the movie Amarcord is playing in the background. Very atmospheric. In the second hall there are various hand-made works. Tonino did not live in this house. (Original) Музей небольшой. (Translated by Google) Fantastic news! The museum has reopened. The new exhibition offers visitors Guerra's works and the numerous creations created in collaboration with local artisans; Furthermore, some shots taken by the poet in Moscow in the 1980s are exhibited for the first time, images that immortalize the progressive economic decline of the Russian capital admirably captured in the empty shop windows. (Original) Fantastica notizia!

(Translated by Google) A fantastic place for those who want to discover the poet and greatest exponent of poetic visions born in these lands and spread throughout the world through his works and screenplays. A thought born from the heart and passing through the Romagna region, then arriving on paper and transformed into poetic form, be it words, paintings, or sculptures. Welcoming and rich in works, you can also see the complete filmography of Tonino Guerra, an Oscar nominee in 1967, who for us is already the Oscar winner of our region. It's definitely worth a visit! Accogliente e ricco di opere, è possibile anche vedere la filmografia completa di Tonino Guerra, una nomination come premio Oscar nel 1967, per noi è già il premio Oscar del nostro territorio. Castello Malatestiano has undergone various transformations over the years, and it boasts a quadrangular shape. Situated in a historic area with narrow streets adorned with flowers, this massive and well-maintained rock is a must-see. The village surrounding it offers a charming walk through its maze of narrow streets and stone pathways.
Beautiful castle that stand strong over all Santarcangelo. The guided tour is interesting and guide you through the “old” side of the castle that isn’t used by the princess. The entrance price is 7€ and it only takes half an hour, however there are specific times to visit. It is a nice site to visit if you are passing through the area.

Beautiful castle overlooking the valley down to the sea side. Only in weekends there is the possibility for guided tours inside the castle, which is private and otherwise closed to the public. Pretty arch and piazza if you're visiting the town. Nestled on a charming staircase, La Piadineria alla Scalinata is a delightful spot that offers an unforgettable piadina experience. With its unique and generous fillings like pecorino cheese, caramelized figs, porchetta, fresh spinach, walnuts, red onions, and anchovies, each bite bursts with flavor. The owners Eleonora and Marco create a warm atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
Looking for a typical Italian Piadina? Come to la Piadineria, take a seat outside and enjoy the Italian street life. Prices and portions seem small when you see them at the neighbor table but they’re definitely enough for one person! The quality and taste are typical and unique at the same time. We’re happy that we had our first piadina at la piadineria and not at a tourist restaurant at Rimini beach. Only thing that can be improved - the restaurant could use more reusable cutlery, cups. We visited in July 2021 and they still mostly used single use plastic items which is kind of not good for the environment.

Sferisterio, also known as Campo Da Gioco Del Tamburello, is a historic playground area built in the late 18th century near the town walls. It is where locals still engage in ancient games like Pallone al bracciale and Tamburello. The rectangular dirt space is situated between ancient walls and a lush public garden, creating a blend of old and new.

I booked a stay at Casa Giulietta for a week in July but made a mistake with the room options, ending up with a non-refundable room. Once I realized the error, I contacted them within 32 hours to ask for a partial refund or some flexibility, as I was managing a complicated family situation. However, I was met with accusations that I was being 'superficial' and 'harassing' them. Despite my immediate response and willingness to find a fair solution, they refused to refund any of my payment and kept €930. Instead, they offered a voucher that didn’t meet my needs, since I have no one who might be interested in staying at their property. Their response felt patronizing, and they suggested that my booking was made without real intent to stay, which was both hurtful (since I immediately informed them and canceled the room to free it up for others) and rude. It’s disappointing that they didn’t show more understanding or willingness to accommodate. I won’t be booking with them again.
