Nature & Parks
Mountains
Nestled on the stunning island of Brac, Vidova Gora stands proudly as the highest peak among the Adriatic islands, reaching an impressive height of 778 meters. This remarkable destination is a haven for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike, offering breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across the azure waters of the Adriatic Sea and neighboring islands like Hvar and Vis.
Fantastique and challanging walking. The road is well signed, full of stones but good for walking. For us with a 8 year old boy took 3 hours to walk up. The view is beautiful. At the top there is a small bar with icecream, coffee and souvenires. To go up and down it was about 10 kms. Challanging but beautiful.
Szilvia R — Google review
We drove to the top. I can't imagine hiking it in the heat. The views were amazing. There was a small cafe at the top but the views were stunning. I would be careful at the top around the cliff edges. Most of the island has a lot of rock but this drive gives you some interesting forest time as well on the way up!
Jamie S — Google review
It's the tallest mountain in the isle of braç, and the view is amazing. You can clearly see the Zlatni rat beach from up there and also the very cool formation of the island in front (Hvar island if i'?m not mistaken) which I thought looked like a hand reaching out. 10/10, definitely would recommend
Eros — Google review
Amazing spot!! Went there for sunset and left in total awe. The access is very easy through a pine forest and uphill there’s a small free parking, after which you have to walk a paved road for 5-10 minutes to reach the top. Amazing views of the Hvar and Vis islands, also of Zlanti Rat beach and, of course, Bol and the rest of southern Brac. Must see spot on the island.
Maria F — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I've seen in Croatia. It's on the island of Braz. The island is easily assecable from Split. A 50 minute ferry ride to Supetar.
Eileen W — Google review
Challenging hike but very fascinating. The trail was not identified on Google Maps and we had trouble finding the path in the beginning, luckily there were marks for hikers everywhere (see the red and white circle in the picture). The hiking trail starts from road UI. Gornje Podbarje where there is a hiking plate. We followed the marks and it took c. 3.5 hours to go up and c. 2 hours to go down. There were loose gravels everywhere on the path and it can get tricky especially on the way down. The view from the top was amazing and there is a table and a bench for picnic. There is also a small shop for refreshment. The mountain peak is also accessable by car/bike. For hikers, bringing plenty of water and food is recommended. Overall, it's worth a visit.
Sophie Y — Google review
Vidova Gora is an absolutely amazing place. The view from the top is simply stunning – especially if you come just before sunset. As someone from this region, I really recommend visiting during that time because the light and atmosphere are truly magical. Just a small tip: bring something warmer to wear, as it can get chilly up there even in summer. The road that takes you through the forest to the top is also really beautiful and adds to the experience. The only downside is an abandoned building near the viewpoint – it looks a bit neglected and spooky. Hopefully, it gets renovated in the future to match the beauty of the rest of the place.

Convent
The Dominican Monastery in Bol, Croatia, has been a significant spiritual and cultural center since its construction in 1475. The monastery's late Gothic single-nave church, the Virgin of Mercy, showcases impressive architecture from the 17th century. Visitors can explore the museum inside the monastery to learn about its history, town artifacts, and regional artwork. Additionally, the monastery is situated in a charming fishing village with a rich architectural heritage that attracts travelers seeking diverse culinary experiences and excellent local wines.
Beautiful monastery built on the shore of the Adriatic Sea. It houses an interesting museum, a small cemetery, a lapidarium, and a working bell tower. The surrounding areas are beautiful and the museum visit is relatively short.
Liviu-Cristian M — Google review
Lovely small monestary and museum with quite a few artefacts, some dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. Easy to walk to from Bol Harbour.
Lynette F — Google review
The Dominican Monastery is a church of St. Mary of Mercy built in the 16th century. The altar is the work of the Venetian painter Jacopo Tintoretto. Which also housing a museum which holds archaeological artifacts from the Adriatic sea and Roman Empire. Beautiful crystal clear waters surround the site
Philip S — Google review
Good to visit this place, you can find something new about history, art and old fragments at the island Brać or from the sea around.. Very nice experience and ticket for entrance is not so expensive like another places in Croatia.
Elea O — Google review
Interesting monastery with a small, well curated museum - the texts are in English and Croatian. There are 3 rooms displaying old latin church songbooks, ecclesiastical gold and silver treasures and vestments, finds form the sea. My daughters and I enjoyed the visit. When coming from the promenade in Bol, the signs are not very clear but google maps helped us to find the monastery easily.
Vanessa S — Google review
Small but beautiful church and fascinating museum which was lovely and cool when we walked in on a hot day in August. The museum has some beautiful paintings, church artefacts and an incredible collection of coins ranging in date from Greek and Roman coins dated 500 BC to Austro-Hungarian coins from 1918. Only 4E to enter which seemed very reasonable.
Ann N — Google review
Very nice monastery directly at the sea
Jakub P — Google review
The monastery is beautiful, serene and near a good, decent priced restaurant for lunch. Also, the beach nearby has a crystal clear water, a small beach with pebbles and is perfect for snorkeling.

Wineries & Vineyards
Stina Winery, located along Bols seafront, has a history dating back over a century and was awarded its first gold medal at an international wine exhibition in Paris in 1909. Visitors can learn about the different varieties and production methods of the wines before indulging in a tasting experience paired with local delicacies such as sheep's milk cheese and breadsticks with olive oil. The winery draws inspiration from the unique white stone of the island to create new labels that blend tradition with modern techniques.
We had a wonderful tour today with a young man. He was knowledgeable and fun! We learned a lot about the winery business and history of Croatia. We liked the first white wine - local grape and enjoyed the red (a rose was served in between). We learned the story behind their white label. And did you know Srinagar Winery is the closest winery to the sea of any winery in the world?!!!
Barbara P — Google review
Stina is a must-visit on Brać. Their Rosè and Pošip are especially good. The local cheese and Pršut with olives made the perfect snack to pair with a few glasses in front of the beautiful Bol harbor. The winery is located in a nice historic building and is very beautiful inside. Great wines, great service. I’d highly recommend a visit!
DJ H — Google review
I raved about this winery that I discovered in Bol 14 years ago. I am again thoroughly enjoying the wines. Igor, the waiter, who has served us over the last couple of nights is very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines.
James D — Google review
The wine tour and tasting was very disappointing. We chose to do this on a rainy day in Bol, but I imagine a lot of the magic (and what justifies the higher price point), would be enjoying the tastings with beach views. Instead, we were stood inside and did not get a seat. We purchased the most expensive tasting but the tour guides barely spoke to us - they seemed to stand round everyone else giving them more detail on the wine they're drinking etc, but acted like we weren't there. Not sure if it's cause we looked a bit younger, or cause we're a queer couple, or something else entirely - but it didn't feel good. We were walking to the bar to grab multiple glasses of wine at a time and drink it without knowing what it was etc. We may as well have saved the money and just bought the wines ourself. Our tasting was at 5pm so by 6pm there was another tour going round and we felt hurried out and ended up gulping down the wine. The tour itself was maybe 20 mins, in about 3 rooms. Some of which were really thin so we ended up so far away from the guide that we couldn't hear a thing he was saying. It would make far more sense to tie the tour in with the actual wines we'd be tasting - explain them as we go so we can really appreciate what we are trying, rather than just seeing the machines that make them. And I'd suggest adding a cap to the people on a tasting, so everyone can have a more worthwhile experience. In a perfect world, rainy days would also mean a discount, so we aren't paying a 'by the beachfront' premium, when it can't be used. We spent about €77 on two tastings - not worth it and the whole experience put a dampener on our experience of Bol.
Lucie P — Google review
Lovely experience here - great wine, good explanations about the winery, gracious hosting with lovely local olive oil, cold cuts and cheeses, and kid friendly. Highly recommend a visit if you get to Bol - and try to find their wines even if you don't get there, they're excellent.
Lior L — Google review
Good prosecco, good wine, nice place to sit at, also possible to sit at the beachside. It's very romantic. The atmosphere is special.
B R — Google review
Absolutely amazing. Whole environment, sea, wine, vibe. You can sit in front of the winery on the tables that have a view on the sea or you can visit winery inside. There are lots of wines to choose from and also some dishes like homemade ham, cheese, olives. We enjoyed it. Recommended!
Magdalena R — Google review
Wine tasting from small cruise boat. Only had whites which are okay. Need to come back someday and try their reds. Fun fact, closes winery in the world near an ocean.

Beaches
Murvica Beach in Bol, Croatia is a must-visit destination on the southern coast of Brac Island. With its stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and serene atmosphere, it's a popular choice for travelers seeking relaxation. The beach is known for its clear turquoise waters and soft white sand, drawing visitors from around the globe. Just 5 km away lies the charming village of Murvica, accessible by car or bike via a well-maintained road.
Great beach with pleasant tree shodows and spectacular views. For car parking: I'd recommend NOT using the closest one and simply leaving the car at the main street. Be careful while going down with little kids. It's quite steep, but definitely bearable.
Karol K — Google review
Great beach! Clean sea and beautiful view. But the path to the beach was really painful. Steep long road that guides you to the beach is for healthy people in a good physical shape.
Andrea G — Google review
Pros❤️ Beautiful Beach. Peacefull. The water is crystal clear. No dark rocks :)) You can watch sunset here and some cute little fishes 🐠 no sea urchins 🦔 The sun is here quite a long time - on the lef beach untill approx 7:30 pm in September. Cons🧐 Payed parking. The road to access the beach is steep. The waves can be quite big. You can see and hear boats passing arround from a big distance. There are 3 payed parking lots: 1st - next to the road, the parking without ramp is 10 eur/day (if you eat in the restaurant, you dont need to pay the parking, but the restaurant is not rated well so I would skip that. I would go to Hakuna Matata Beach Bar - good prices excelent food. Its 3 min drive from the parking - 30 min walk with amazing views - free parking) 2nd - parking with a ramp is 3 eur/ 1 hour. 3rd - downhill parking, closer to the beach, is 15 eur/day - its challenging to drive - its veeery steep. Murvica consists from 2 beaches: Left side - my favourite❤️ more quite, no trees, shade only under one big rock in the morning. I would use water shoes for easier access and little tent for a shade. But you can make it without them too. There is a stand for umbrella. Right side - 2 patio - more loud, beach with shade and shade between trees. You can rent a padleboard- 5 eur. In high season there is also a bar open. The access to water is easier.
Michaela B — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches. There is two parking: one on the road and one half way down hill (for good drivers) You can take cover from the sun under the rocky walls or under trees There is also a beach bar to chill
Nouha O — Google review
Nice, quiet beach, with easy access — not as secluded as the next beaches going west, but definitely much easier access. Paid parking with 10€/day, on the main road or another parking a bit further down on the road to the beach. Most of the descent is paved. A lot of natural shadow on the right side of the beach, under the pines. Great snorkeling spot also!
Maria F — Google review
beautiful beach, clean sea, not so many people, but path from the beach is real challenge
Marko Ć — Google review
One of the best beaches on the Adriatic coast — crystal-clear water, refreshing pine shade, and a perfect spot to spend the whole day relaxing.
G G — Google review
Great beach with lots of place for you place your towels and bags, down by the sea or a bit higher in a forest surrounding with natural shade. We would suggest to park on the parking lot on the main road as the road down to the beach, and a second parking halfway to the sea is not for the smaller and weaker cars due to the steep incline when returning up to the main road.

Beach
Martinica Beach is a serene and popular spot in Bol, Martinique. It's frequented by locals for swimming, sunbathing, and leisurely walks along the coast. Accessible by bike or car, this beautiful bay offers a peaceful retreat with picturesque sea views. Nearby, there are other beaches like Murvica Beach, each offering a unique atmosphere and amenities to cater to different preferences. Visitors can relax on quiet shores or engage in water sports activities.
A great local beach, just a 10-minute walk from Bol. The beach is small, so it does get crowded, but if you walk further along you will find a space. The water is so clear and the view behind the beach is beautiful. There is a kiosk close to the beach that sells drinks and ice-creams, and a hotel cafe nearby that offers meals and pizza. Plus you can hire kayaks and SUP boards at reasonable prices.
Tara — Google review
Not too bad. If you have your own umbrella or lucky to be one of the first who can occupy the shadow then easily can spend the whole day. We parked for just an hour, a very friendly parking-girl let us firstly to have a look if we would like to stay. Unfortunately the shore isn’t sand, small pebble, quite hard to get into the sea. Also we saw a couple of echinus, so be careful. But water is absolutely transparent, crystal, cyan and simply beautiful. When you are swimming from the shore — you can see there’s sand under the water 🩵
An U — Google review
This area is full of beaches! It is very nice!
Julian M — Google review
The water here is crystal clear - possibly even more beautiful than Golden Horn or Komiža on Vis Island. It shimmers in an emerald-green shade, though the actual color is lighter than it appears in my photo. I was VERY impressed and will definitely be returning next year.
S I — Google review
A beautiful beach with reasonable charge for loungers and shade. They have a cool water sports hire where you can get paddle boards & Kayaks by the hour. The restaurant in the hotel overlooking the bay does good food. Sit back and enjoy the sound of the ocean with a cold beer! 🏖
Kevin L — Google review
Very cool beach with some water attractions for adults. The view on the church is achievable from the Eastern part of the beach. Slightly too crowded during Summer season. Big parking lot nearby.
Karol K — Google review
Pretty little secluded beach, but a bit too crowded and too many children for my taste. It's not as windy as the Golden horn, but the sea is the same - a bit too cold for me. Still, a nice and pictoresque beach with a lovely surrounding.
Jelena P — Google review
It wasn't very crowded at the end of September. Water is crystal clear. It's a pebble beach so maybe take your water shoes with you!

Historic Walking Areas
Golden Horn Beach, also known as Zlatni Rat, is a stunning landmark in Croatia that attracts visitors with its unique shape and clear waters. This pebble stone beach stretches over 500 meters into the sea and changes position based on the sea current and wind. Surrounded by 10 kilometers of small pebble beaches along the coast, it offers breathtaking nature and crystal-clear seas for activities like windsurfing and boating.
The beach is amazing and the sea is very clean — you can even see the bottom. It's just a little cold. The view is fantastic, with the sea on one side and mountains and greenery on the other. You can swim while enjoying the beautiful scenery. There are plenty of cafes and bars around, and the prices are average. If you want, you can rent a sunbed. I really liked it — it's definitely a place worth seeing.
Damla A — Google review
Beautiful beach, no major waves so the water is very flat and swimmable. Sometimes there’ll be some fish in the sea to swim around. Pebble beach so please bring water shoes otherwise you’ll be hobbling, Absolutely beautiful. It’s about a 10min bike ride from the main port.
Aaron L — Google review
Beautiful beach — definitely worth the visit! I had read several reviews saying it gets very crowded, and since we went in August (high season), we decided to take the 6 a.m. ferry to arrive around 7 a.m. From 7a.m until 9:30-10am the beach was still quiet and almost empty, and we enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere for a few hours before it started to fill up later in the morning. You can really see the difference in the photos! Tip: arrive early and choose a sunny day — the water looks much more vibrant and blue when the sun hits it. Totally worth it!
Débora R — Google review
We arrived by the local Arriva bus service from Supetar to Bol and walked along the promenade to the beach area. The walk is predominantly flat and the pathway is easy to walk. There are places to stop to have something to eat/drink and the public toilets are well signposted. The beach is free to visit and is stunning. There are places where you can hire water sports activities and bars and restaurants to stop at. We walked along the pebble beach and stopped for an ice-cream and a drink and found the prices were the same as anywhere else on Brac. Definitely worth visiting
Joyce J — Google review
An absolutely amazing place. The beach changed shape every time we went there. The water is crystal clear but it was pretty cold when we were there. Beach was spotless. Easy to rent sun loungers, parasols, etc. Just scan the QR code and pay. Definitely worth a visit if you are on the island.
Gary A — Google review
Magnificent beach, famous for a good reason. Various low or high adrenaline beach activities are offered. Or you can just relax and enjoy! 🙂 Nearby place of Bol and surrounding area offer accommodation, restaurants, bars, daily boat trips, windsurfing and other activities.
Titibobo — Google review
The beach is very beautiful, the water is clear and warm and its particular shape is interesting to visit. But unfortunately it has become way too tourist-oriented for my taste, everything is insanely expensive (compared to prices on other beaches on the island), it’s very crowded throughout the day, the only natural shade area is under the pines in the center of the beach, where there are also located countless food and drink trucks, and you get to lay down in a smell of gas and fried food. Although the natural beauty of the beach is undeniable, overall the day spent there turned out to be the least fun day on the island.
Maria F — Google review
Got the ferry over from split. 80 euros return for both of us. Had breakfast in Bol, walked to the beach maybe 20 mins. It was already very hot 9am July 25. Plenty of sun beds. 39 euros for 2 beds and unberrella Went to the bar for a nice cold drink. Nice atmosphere. Nothing is cheap, remember this.

Ranc Restaurant, located just a short walk from the marina in Bol, is renowned as one of the top dining spots not only in Bol but also on the entire island. With a stunning terrace offering panoramic views of the sea, this restaurant is celebrated for its delectable local and Mediterranean cuisine at reasonable prices. Visitors can expect excellent service and a warm welcome, making it an ideal choice for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.
We had dinner there 2 nights in one week and we were pleasantly surprised with good fish first and great steaks the second time. The waitress Ivana was very attentive, giving best suggestions, from the wine selection to the chocolate desert, which was simply amazing. We'll come back next summer ☀️.

The food and service were excellent and we will definitely come back! The restaurant has several terraces where you can eat, so you will surely find a spot that suits your party. We ordered the meat platter for two and had more than enough to eat. The meat platter includes various kinds of high quality cuts of meat. We were especially impressed by the skewers and the beefsteak. The platter also comes with roasted potatoes, assorted grilled vegetables, and ajvar. We ordered a seasonal salad and for dessert a chocolate cake with walnuts. The waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about the food and wine.

If you're looking for Peka, then this is a great place for it in Bol! Highly recommend. We had the lamb peka ( lamb and potatoes/few carrots slow cooked under coals for the day). We booked it the day before and we were NOT disappointed! Just beautiful with their homemade bread ( dense, warn and melts in thr mouth with the juices of the peka). Service was excellent and the whole atmosphere relaxing on a beautiful evening.

The best restaurant in Bol! Such a welcoming atmosphere with the best staff and outstanding food! We went 2 times and both of them were incredible! We ordered the Greek salad, the fish and seafood plate for 2 on one day, and meat with mushrooms and pasta with seafood on the other and it was all super fresh and delicious, can't recommend it enough! Awesome place to take pictures as it is under some grape trees and has an awesome view of the ocean. Shoutout to Lac and all of the staff for making our visit extra special both of the times!

Restaurant
Mali Raj Restaurant is one of the top dining spots on Brac Island, Croatia. It offers a perfect blend of great scenery, delicious food, and excellent service. The restaurant is known for its fantastic carpaccio of beef and octopus, as well as mouthwatering lamb chops. With a short season in Bol, Mali Raj stands out as a must-visit place outside of July and August.
Incredible experience! Charming rustic atmosphere, divine food with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The lamb is a must-try! Impeccable service and a great wine selection. Highly recommended!

Food is excellent! Waiters were so friendly and communicative. Atmosphere and ambience are like in heaven. So name "Mali Raj" ("Little Heaven" on Croatian language) is the best name they could give to their restaurant. Big thumbs up for the owners!
Nikola M — Google review
Maybe the most gorgeous restaurant space in Bol. I wish we had gone for dinner, it may be even more beautiful than mid day. We chose veal shank which was quite nice and some kind of gnocchi with tomatoes which was ok. Service is very friendly, prices a little high. They are primarily a fish restaurant so maybe that's a better choice.
First L — Google review
If you happen to spend a day at the famous Zlatni Rat beach, do yourself a favour and have a meal at Mali Raj. The old village charm and olive tree garden make an amazing setting and the service and food are out of this world. We had pasta with truffles and black risotto, fish soup and beef soup - all were mouthwatering. The place to really enjoy a looong lazy lunch and soak in the nature.
Nevena A — Google review
The atmosphere, food and staff were amazing and professional, one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve been to. The food was extraordinary, but I can’t justify the prices of certain food/drinks such as 9 euro mineral water.
Matija M — Google review
Beautiful garden with a bit overpriced food. Food is nothing special with small for Croatia portions. Apperetiv in the garden (mandatory 3.5€ per person) was delicious. Must note, that even though we reserved the table - waiter on entrance was telling us that there are no free tables in garden, because there are too many reservations. Meanwhile there were 4 free tables. Only when we said that garden is the only option for us - he asked his colleague and seated us there. Most probabl in the worst place in the garden, next to the toilet for staff. Thus it was stinking half of the time. Must note that while we were sitting there (2.5 hours, till closure) noone came, people only left. Waitress that was serving us was quite nice and friendly, no complaints about her. I'd say that prices should be 20% lower at least. And maybe change the waiter on entrance (he's not "host") so he won't have a chance to ruin the impression of the place.

Airport
Airport Brac, situated just ten kilometers from the charming town of Bol, serves as a convenient gateway to this stunning Croatian island. Primarily serviced by Croatia Airlines with flights from Zagreb, it also welcomes various European carriers during the busy summer season. For those arriving via Split Airport, there are options for taxi boat transfers or ferry rides to Supetar and Bol.
It is a small airport with friendly service. Inside it is clean and pretty. It is also a nice place for plane spotters.

Visited with a small aircraft (C-172). Well-organized, just be aware of the operating hour and the mandatory PPR. Air Traffic Services are also limited to certain days, so be careful and contact Split Approach before takeoff, when TWR is not operating. Has a working NDB and an interesting circling approach (VOR). Fuel available, aircraft are tied down for overnight parking. Taxi to Bol village is 20-30 EUR.

Restaurant
Nestled just a short stroll from the Dominican monastery, Konoba Mendula is a charming family-run eatery that embodies the essence of Dalmatian culinary traditions. This delightful restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, organic meals sourced directly from their farm in Dracevica village. While it may not boast sea views, its inviting atmosphere and commitment to quality make up for it.
I like everything there Fish was really good grilled and testy! You will have cooked potatoes and salad with it and everything is delicious 🤤 Even the price was good! Staff are friendly and always there for you(fast) About atmosphere you don’t have much view, houses blocked . You have to search for parking it’s about luck!

Wow, our family is so happy we found this local gem! The service was exceptional and the food was absolutely some of the best we had have had our entire trip in Croatia… And at a great price. We typically never eat at the same place twice ….but this is the exception. we are definitely going back tonight for more local whole fish. There is a beautiful view overlooking the water from a top perch and it was just such a quaint family experience that we can’t resist going back for more… Oh yeah and the $9 half liter of wine. 🍷

Highly recommend! Food was absolutely delicious - the best meal we had on Brač and for a very reasonable price. Service was exceptional - Antonio our waiter was so nice and friendly. Atmosphere was lovely (and quiet), as its away from the main waterfront. Definitely less touristy and more of a local/laid back vibe. Also has a great view from the terrace!

If you come to one restaurant in Bol (or Croatia for that matter) please let it be this one!! The cozy, traditional vibe of the place, the amazing service, the food, and the pricing were all phenomenal. The seafood is so fresh and prepared perfectly. You also get complimentary side salad and after dinner digestif. I could not recommend this place more!! 😍 As tourists who were looking for something with a more local, genuine feel this absolutely blew us away.

Such a great local restaurant, really well priced. Unbelievably fresh fish! Cracking atmosphere! Great service! Wonderful family! Look for Anotonio as the waiter, he is fantastic at his job, and is super good at being a waiter.

We had dinner here and really loved it. It’s a cozy, family-run spot away from the busy waterfront, with a great ocean view. The seafood was super tasty and reasonably priced. Antonio was an awesome waiter—really friendly and on top of everything!

What a gorgeous restaurant away from the busy vibes of the ocean promenade. We had the best meal in Croatia yet along with beautiful service. Just divine! Highly recommend this little tucked away gem.

Historical landmark
Zmajeva špilja, also known as the Dragon Cave, is a fascinating site located near Murvica, close to Bol. The cave stretches for about 20 meters and is divided into four halls. It houses the remnants of a chapel and the living quarters of former hermits. To reach the cave, visitors can embark on a steep one-hour hike up the hill from Murvica.
Slavic myths & legends mixed with the histories of people migration & of Brac island itself, religious "takeovers," and modern-day informed speculations/ knowledge shared by ethnologists, linguists & art historians. This is what you get when you visit the Dragon Cave with Zoran, "The Guide." I don't think I've received a better guided tour by anyone anywhere in the world. He is a Croatian national treasure, having accumulated so much knowledge over the 23 years (since 2000) he's been conducting tours of the Dragon Cave. Zoran popularizes what the more obscure branches of academic study so much, that those scholars embrace him for his storytelling. And we, the tourists, are enriched by it. The weaver of tales made the Dragon Cave come alive in our imagination. The climb itself consists of 20% - 30% grade hills (the way up) in places that are, thankfully, not terribly long. The way down is longer and easier grade, on which you see wine grapes literally grown on hills so steep you wonder how they harvest them! Sturdy shoes (hiking boots are helpful, as sneakers would barely cut it) and bottles of water are essential, or you risk, well, health & safety! I found it necessary to use my hiking stick on the way down, for balance and my knees. Food too. The views are beautiful, To be able to see far out beyond the Brac shores to Hvar & other islands. Our day was mostly cloudy, so we didn't get to see the brilliant colors of the Adriatic (the sea was navy blue, not green or aqua blue as we've seen on sunnier days). But the tradeoff was a not intensely hot climb. The point of this visit, though, is primarily in the telling of tales. You'd be remiss not to pay the €12 pp (unless your group is too small, in which case Zoran asks for more - our family of 4 paid €20 pp for a last-minute, custom tour) to come all the way out here and miss the stories behind what's up there on the walls. And believe me, there are layers upon layers of history & stories that you'll want to hear.
Chiucat A — Google review
This is a very strenuous hike, up hill, for about a mile on a rocky trail. Beautiful views of the sea as you climb. The cave has a locked gate, so you need to call ahead and arrange a tour to enter. It’s really worth the climb!
John S — Google review
We biked from Bol for an unforgettable full-day adventure to Zmajeva špilja (Dragon’s Cave), and I can’t recommend it enough. We parked our bikes near Konoba Marija in Murvica, then began the one-hour steep hike up—tough but totally doable with good shoes, water, and some determination. What made it really special was Zoran, our guide. He broke the climb into short sections, sharing fascinating local myths, history, and expert theories along the way. The cave is small but rich in carvings and atmosphere, and the views over Brač are absolutely epic. Zoran has the only key to the cave, so you’ll need to go with him—and his storytelling is what truly brings the place to life. (We took the tour in German.) We wrapped it all up with a swim in the sea and a delicious lunch at Hakuna Matata, then rode back to Bol. Not suitable for small kids, but sporty teens would manage it
M A — Google review
The climb up to the cave I would consider moderate to strenuous as an average hiker (50 minutes including stops for pictures). The views along the way out toward the sea and Hvar Island are spectacular. We hiked on a day with full sun and 22deg C most of the way up has limited shade so be prepared for that and in summer early or later in day is likely best. This was more spontaneous and we did not contact the guide but I would suggest you do that as the entry to the cave is interesting and inside has more to show. Arriving there I felt a bit like Indiana Jones :)
Michael O — Google review
Zoran's Cave not Dragon's Cave... We arrived at the cave without a guide but the guide (I assume Zoran) was starting a tour and told us to stay away and not to talk because then he would let us in for free later. We offered to pay to get in but he refused. After a while when I went to ask him politely how much longer it would take to enter he started yelling at me that he told me 10 minutes and not even 8 minutes passed and threatened that he would refuse us entrance altogether... Somehow we were second class citizens that he would let in for free if we didn't bother him while talking for the paying tour. We sat quiet as puppies at the cave door. I don't understand how he can be so nice to those who pay for the tour and so rude to others... In short it's not the Dragon's cave, it's Zoran's cave who holds the key and gives orders to those who don't pay him enough. We repeatedly offered to pay for the visit but we didn't want to pay for the whole tour given that we only went ro visit the cave. In short, an unpleasant experience and unprofessional behaviour.
Áron T — Google review
The cave itself is really interesting, as you'll see for yourself. But what i'd like to point out is just how amazing the guided tour was. Zoran, the only guide for the cave, made the trip not just a fact sharing, but a cohesive and fascinating story. Very good knowledge of history of the place, and a nice interactive tour. The tour was around 4hours, out of which we walked for probably just 1-1.5h. The rest of the time, Zoran just couldn't stop talking, and we just couldn't stop listening. Extremely recommended, and thanks again for being a great guide!
Влад Н — Google review
The hike from Murvica up to the cave entrance is a about 270 elevation, and a little over 1km. The walk is steep but short and definitely worth. Zoran (official tour guide of the cave) is a wonderful person. His knowledge of the actual historical events (even of the wider Croatian area) with intriguing mythological "facts", keeps you in your toes thought the whole visit. You'll take about an hour with stops (Zoran takes specific stopa to tell the story) up to the entrance and about a good hour or two in the cave. Just enjoy the scenery and marvel at this cultural and historical wonder
Marin V — Google review
Amazing cave! You need to get a guide as the cave is locked and its impossible to find it. Call the number in a photo to book a guide. You will hike with a guide up the mountain so have proper shoes and water. Only 80kn for the guided hike. Great value. Views while hiking are breathtaking too!

Kino Mediteran Bol, also known as the Open Air Cinema, is a charming outdoor movie theater located in the heart of Bol. With its stunning view of the Adriatic Sea and Hvar Island in the background, it offers a unique experience of watching films under the clear sky and stars. The screenings usually start at 9 pm and feature popular blockbuster movies in their original languages. The affordable ticket price makes it an attractive option for both locals and tourists.
Bought tickets online but you can also buy at entry. You can sit where you want when you arrive. They sell salty popcorn and drinks. Some movies are shown in English with Croatian subtitles. This experience makes you feel like a main character 🎬🍿✨

Best experience on my vacation was this Cinema, it was so much better than I expected. They served popcorn and drinks (including wine) in the bar and you could see the moon and stars above you when watching the movie. And the pictures were in good quality. Very nice experience for the outdoor screening. Affordable at 5€ per ticket, especially when it’s also a current popular blockbuster movie. Drinks and popcorn were also very reasonably priced, we paid €10 for two drinks and a large popcorn. Note that they only accept cash inside!

A unique cinematic experience under the open skies. Comfy seats and good audio plus the near certainty of good weather means that it is easy to forget you are in an open-air cinema...until the fil reaches a quiet part and you suddenly become aware of the gentle hubbub drifting from the shore-side restaurants below. A small bar at the back serves popcorn and beers. Top class.

Pumparela Restaurant is a family-friendly spot with high chairs for kids and the convenience of accepting credit cards. The menu boasts an array of delectable dishes, including freshly baked bread, creamy risotto, fresh seafood pasta, and divine octopus salad. While it's known for its massive steaks, there are also other options like pastas, risottos, tuna steak, and seafood. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience with exclusive seating and breathtaking views of the harbor.
This restaurant is exceptional. The food is amazing but more than that the waiters and level of service is sensational. On top of that the location and atmosphere is first class. It’s the top rated restaurant with the best reviews, and I can see why. It’s no more expensive than the other restaurants, so why would you go anywhere else? Be warned on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it will be fully booked in the evening so be sure to book ahead.

Pumparela is an absolute gem in Bol. The ambiance is nothing short of breathtaking – right by the sea, with stunning views that make every meal feel special. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. The food is outstanding, with fresh, high-quality ingredients prepared to perfection. One of the highlights is that you can actually grill your own steak or tuna steak right at your table – such a unique and fun experience that you won’t find just anywhere. Yes, it might be a little on the pricier side, but considering the location, the quality, and the unforgettable experience, it’s well worth it. If you’re in Bol and want something truly memorable, Pumparela should be at the top of your list.

The restaurant is located right in the harbor. If you sit too close to the edge, you might end up in the water! The food was solid, with generous portions. They offered us a table for 1.5 hours because everything else was reserved. The service was friendly and very quick. They offer homemade bread, which is a nice touch, but it's essentially pizza dough—and it costs extra.

Beautiful restaurant right on the harbour side. Had to wait 10 minutes for a table but was well worth it. Both decided to go for the ribeye steak which comes out blue but with a hot stone to cook yourself. Meat was great with nice chips and sauce with it. Also ordered the home made bread which was really good with oil and balsamic provided on the table. Definitely recommend.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We don’t usually eat in the busy waterfront locations but walked past and saw people’s food which looked excellent. It didn’t disappoint! Very good food and friendly efficient service. Lovely location next to the marina. Must try the homemade bread!!

This restaurant is just perfect! The friendliness and warmth they show — you simply won’t find it anywhere else in Croatia. Their food is absolutely delicious, and the meat on the hot stone? Wow! I got to cook it exactly how I like it — such a fun and tasty experience. Truly unforgettable service and amazing people!

The location is wonderful and the servers were pleasant. The catch of the day and Calamari were good, but the tuna steak was under seasoned and underwhelming along with the side which lacked spices and flavour.

The coffee was ok but at 4.00E they certainly do not you miss you. Everyone goes hard for the tourist $ whilst it is still available and this place is no different. It is in a good spot however cannot comment on the food, as it is a bit out of my price range.

Excellent dining experience. Great view over the bay, excellent service including wine recommendation and amazing food. We had the black risotto and octopus salad as starters (do NOT miss out on these, delicious!), the fish of the day (comes with steamed chard and potatoes) and mixed mussels in white wine as mains (also 👌🏼). If there is still some if that blueberry cheesecake for dessert, go for it! Overall not cheap but definitely worth it and a special treat to the end of our holiday. Would definitely come back! 👍🏼😁

My favorite restaurant on Brač! Delicious food and great ambiance overlooking the water and boardwalk. The service is exceptional and everything on the menu is amazing! I highly recommend the delicate, raw red shrimp as an appetizer and the crab gnocchi is a must!! I only had a few nights in Bol and I ate here both nights! The owners son Lovre is friendly and welcoming and always makes sure you have a wonderful dining experience. They even make their own olive oil for the restaurant. Top quality restaurant and I will be back for sure :)

I can’t say enough good things about our evening at this delightful family-run restaurant in Bol. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place wrapped around us like a cozy blanket. The waiters were just amazing—so attentive and genuinely friendly. They helped us pick out the perfect wines, always with a smile and a sprinkle of that charming Croatian humor that made us feel right at home. The food? Absolutely incredible. Each dish felt like a hug from the Dalmatian coast, bursting with flavor and made with so much care. You could tell that the owner has poured his heart and soul into this place, and it shines through in every bite. It’s no wonder that locals love to come here too; it’s a true testament to the quality and authenticity of the food. As if that wasn’t enough, we were treated to a little surprise that truly made the night unforgettable. A group of Croatian musicians began to play, filling the restaurant with the kind of old, heartbreaking songs that tug at your heartstrings. It created such a magical atmosphere, especially for the guests celebrating their birthdays. What’s even more special is knowing that this restaurant is a family affair. With the owner’s son and grandson now at the helm, you can feel the passion for authentic Dalmatian food and the commitment to making everyone feel welcome. It’s heartwarming to see that legacy being carried on. In short, if you find yourself in Bol, do yourself a favor and visit this gem. It’s a place where locals gather, and you’ll leave not just with a full belly, but with a heart full of memories. Definitely highly recommendable !

This was our first visit to Bol and we ate at Taverna on 3 consecutive days. The service, atmosphere and the quality of food grabbed us right away! We tried the traditional Dalmatian dishes like Pasticada, Fried Calamari, Fish with silverbeet and potatoes, and the absolute best of all was Brudet with Calamari and Cuttlefish with polenta - made just like I do it at home! The service is also impeccable, and we got complimentary drinks are end of each meal. Well done Taverna Riva, keep it up, we will be back!

Taverna Riva is a beautiful restaurant with a lovely terrace and excellent, professional service. We tried the beef tartare, octopus peka, and lava cake. The octopus was outstanding, while the other dishes were decent. However, the prices are on the high side. I’ve had pekas just as great in similar restaurants for about half the cost, so while I enjoyed the experience, I can’t quite give it five stars.

Located in Bol on the southern part of Brac Island, Ribarska Kućica, which translates to "Fisherman's House," offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant is known for its picturesque setting with tables overlooking the sea and even some placed on the adjacent beach for a romantic dinner. Guests can enjoy the freshest fish while watching them splash in the crystal-clear waters. It's an atmospheric place that provides an amazing dining experience directly by the water.
We stayed in Bol, and this gem was only 2 min walk from ours, right on the beach! With views to the old church behind us. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, sitting literally right next to the azore water, it was a perfect experience! The service was excellent, friendly, but not too intrusive, the food was perfectly grilled (I had the mixed fish grill) the entrees were great (tuna capaccio and burrata) and chocolate orange desert was a perfect ending. Highly recommended!

Beautiful location by the sea. The waitress was friendly. I ordered the seafood special and an octopus salad, but I was completely disappointed. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the octopus salad was soaked in oil with no flavour. The tuna was rare and not served hot, and the squid was unpleasant. Not worth the price. There are better restaurants to try in Bol — I wouldn’t recommend this one.

My friend and I arrived without a booking but the waiter was able to get us a table. The tables are right on the water so it’s a really nice spot to eat dinner. We couldn’t see any wine by the glass, but be sure to ask if you don’t want a whole bottle. We had a glass of white and a glass of rosé and both were fresh and perfect with our meal. The tuna portion was a really decent size, my friend wasn’t able to finish it all. I had the seafood platter for one with tuna, shrimp, squid and sea bass. It was the perfect amount and really nicely done. Very tasty. It’s nice to get away from the town with a view of the water as well as the monastery.

We had a fantastic meal of blue crab gnocchi, grilled vegetables, and then a mixed seafood platter. It was all gray, well cooked, delicious and fast! The location is right on the water and can’t be beat! We’ve only been in Croatia 3 days but by far it’s been our best meal!

We went there for a dinner. We reserved a place 2 days in advance, a it was not the high season anymore, but we were one of the last ones to get a table for that day. Staff were very nice and friendly. Food arrived quickly. We ordered crni rižoto and linguine sa kozicama, pršutom i tartufom. Both portions were very big, and very delicious. Only small remark is that food is a bit more salty than it usually is in restaurants. What surprised me the most was how much prawns and pršut there was in the sauce. Besides food, scenery was beautiful. Wherever you sit, you are right next to the sea and beach. P.S.- We also had some cheese with fig jam for appetizer which I forgot to take the picture of. It was nice, but nothing special.

Really great experience here that I would recommend if you’re on Brač. My wife and I came for dinner for 2 around 7:30pm (we put in a res the day before but it wasn’t too busy when we showed up). Dark but still amazing views of the monastery and lightning storm in the air, with sound of the waves in the background. And Pop is a legend. Happy we came here. We had: House wine, bread, black risotto, and gnocchi dish, all really great.

Vidova Gora is a stunning destination that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline and surrounding islands. Accessible by car, visitors can easily reach the end of the asphalt road where ample parking awaits. For those seeking adventure, there are well-marked trails leading to the summit, including a challenging hike from Zlatni Rat that involves a steep ascent of nearly 700 meters over approximately two hours. The journey through lush pine forests adds to the experience, making it an enjoyable ride for cyclists as well.
Definitely go there. The road to peak is very good taking you through alley of trees. After parking your car, it will take you 5to 10 min to go to breathtaking views. I went with my slippers... 🙂

Breathtaking view towards Hvar! 🌇🤩 Went there to see the sunset and didn't get disappointed! The view is amazing and locals say that on good days you can see even Italy from up there. The climb from the parking lot to the top was easy. On top are also tables to take a lunch or to simply sit and enjoy the view. The area is big, so you never get the feeling of being crowded. Definitely something I enjoyed visiting 😁

You know it is there, you hear about it, and you enjoy when you are there - mesmerizing view, temperature few degrees (refreshing) below that on the sea level or coast, missing only a nice coffee or drink shop at the very top - this would be amazing (unfortunately existing mountain hut in ruins)...

Highest point in Brač island with superb view to Hvar island, Zlatni rat beach ... and local said that in a clear day even Italy could be seen. There is a free parking on the top for up to ~20 cars with small shop shop where you can buy drinks, snack and some souvenirs.

Great view on Hvar island and also Zlatni Rat beach. There is parking lot under the top of the mountain, there is also a little snack and beverage stand.

This place is the best experience in Braç! I recommend the location to anyone who likes the mountains, but also to anyone who likes to stay on the beach. You have a ferry to the other surrounding islands and in the evening the city is simply wonderful. The sea is gorgeous, but I recommend using beach slippers because the beach here is much more rocky.

Brac, a stunning white-stone island in the Adriatic Sea, is renowned for its white-pebble beaches and windsurfing opportunities. The island's soft white stone has been quarried for centuries and can be found in various buildings and churches across Europe. Brac also boasts a stonemasonry school in the town of Pucisca. Sailing enthusiasts are drawn to the idyllic experience offered by the pristine turquoise waters surrounding Brac, making it a sought-after destination.
Beautiful island only half an hour boat trip from Split. Nice beaches. Quiet place during May.

Brac Island is a stunning destination in Croatia that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. The island's picturesque landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and charming villages make it a must-visit for any traveler. One of the highlights of Brac is the famous Zlatni Rat beach, with its unique shape and pristine sand. It's a great spot for sunbathing, swimming, and windsurfing. The beach is well-maintained and offers various amenities, including sunbeds, umbrellas, and nearby cafes. The island's interior is equally captivating, with lush greenery, vineyards, and olive groves. The town of Bol is a delightful place to explore, with its narrow streets, historic buildings, and vibrant waterfront. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Dominican Monastery and the Bol Marina. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of hiking and biking trails that offer breathtaking views of the coastline and the Adriatic Sea. The Vidova Gora mountain, the highest peak in the Adriatic islands, provides a challenging but rewarding hike with panoramic vistas. The local cuisine is another highlight of Brac. Fresh seafood, locally produced olive oil, and delicious wines are some of the culinary delights you can enjoy at the island's restaurants and taverns.Overall, Brac Island is a paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking to relax in a beautiful setting. It's a place that will leave you with unforgettable memories and a longing to return.

Amazing island with so many things to do! Surprisingly not expensive and a lot of variety. Explore the island because you can find amazing people, food and drinks. But be aware of places in center which are just for turists, stretch your legs and you will find so many hidden activities and restaurants. But if you want peace you have that as well. Have fun

Varadero is a vibrant destination with a variety of bars to enjoy. Auro Cocktail Bar, Fruit bar, and Beach bar Potocine offer refreshing drinks by the beach. For evening gatherings, head to Cocktail bar Bolero or Noa bar for a lively atmosphere. Varadero bar near the port is perfect for an evening drink and late-night snacks can be found at Vendetta by Vagabundo. Marinero Cafe and Bar is popular among tourists and locals with live music in the evenings.
I was in this place yesterday to enjoy an alcohol-free drink and relax after a long walk since this place caught my eye as soon as I stepped out of the boat onto the pier. The bar has an inviting atmosphere and nice staff, and what's more important, it's located near the centre of the town which worked in favour of my convenience. About the lemonade I ordered, I enjoyed it too.

We had a lovely breakfast here! The food was fresh and delicious, the avocado toast was light and flavorful, and the waffle with ice cream and fruit was a real treat. The fresh watermelon lemonade is definitely a must-try, super refreshing! The only downside was the iced coffee, which unfortunately was warm and lacked flavor. Service was excellent, we were helped by a very friendly lady with a warm smile and great energy. Overall, a great start to the day with tasty food and a welcoming atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a place to unwind with a drink in hand under the cool shade of pine trees, Cocktail Bar Bolero in Bol, Brač is exactly what you need. Tucked away just steps from the Adriatic coast, this bar offers a tranquil and stylish retreat from the summer sun. The setting is what truly sets Bolero apart. We spent our mornings holidays at this beautiful seaside café in Bol, and it quickly became our favourite ritual. With breathtaking views over the Adriatic, great coffee, and a calm, relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to start the day. The staff are friendly, the service is consistent, and the setting is simply unbeatable. Whether you're sipping an espresso or just enjoying the sea breeze, this place truly captures the charm of island mornings. Highly recommended.

Nice place not far from Zlatni rat itself with a deep drink menu including non-alcoholic items, and a few snack plates. Staff is energetic, friendly, and multilingual, especially if you're a foreigner speaks a little Croatian. They treated our group with patience and quick service. For Bol, I understand the prices are a little high compared to the continent, so expect a drink to be 8 to 10 euros. You could also get a ledena kava for 4 euros and relax on any of the expansive seating arrangements.

What a gem of a place. The atmosphere here is fab so relaxing in the trees with great sofas to chill on. The music was spot on and the cocktails amazing. Hiking area
Embarking on the Vidova Gora Trail Head is a quintessential experience for those visiting Bol. As the highest peak among the Adriatic islands, this hike offers a moderately challenging adventure that rewards you with breathtaking views. While some may find it tough due to loose rocks and steep sections, many agree that the effort is well worth it.
My wife and I looked at this and thought we would give it a go. The reviews said to set of early to avoid the heat of the day. Glad we did although it did take over 4 hours in total so was still hot. The path starts steady but then turns to loose rocks and becomes unstable under foot so good walking shoes are needed and you need to be of reasonable fitness. We walked in running trainers which were fit for purpose. It took us 2 hours to get to the top from hotel Elaphusa. At the top there was the most welcome cafe selling all we needed, a cold drink and an ice cream. The views were spectacular and worth the effort. The descent was more tricky than the climb with the loose rocks one could easily twist and ankle, so. Much care is needed. There are good navigating markers of red and white circles as per attached photos. We would highly recommend but be aware it is a long hot walk and can at times feel never ending esp in the heat. ( take plenty of water and sun cream ) Enjoy!!

After seeing the photos posted by others of a beautiful cell tower we thought “we must go see this Mecca!” ;) we rented an atv and made our way to the little shop at the base and walked up. Upon getting to the tower we thought “she’s a beaut Clark” … we then realized how amazing the scenery was from that high so we soaked it in and explored the top of the mountain some more before having a nice cold beer from the shop.
Hannah — Google review
fantastic walking route to do! it is well marked where you have to walk to. I myself left at 0700AM and was all alone. it was as if you were alone on the island. if you go too late it is very hot… luckily I was not bothered by this. once at the top, the hike is absolutely worth it! it takes about 3.5 hours with a good condition with a break for a view here and there.
Rodney R — Google review
Such a beautiful trail and challenging in a good way. I recommend starting as early as possible. Our group started at 6 am and we got to the top in ~2 hours. We completely avoided the heat, which made the climb pleasant. Starting any later would have been unbearable. We were also some of the first people to get there, which was nice. It’s important to note that the trail is pretty steep in some places and most of the time you walk on large rocks, so it’s important to wear sturdy shoes suitable for hiking. Some of the rocks are also loose!
Susanna — Google review
The trail marker is misplaced. Like, it exists exactly where maps has it, but it is just a sign. The actual trail head is at the end of the road (Ulica Gornje Podbarje) where there are lots of trucks; basically across from where Apartment Podbarje is. The trail is also nonexistent on Google Maps but you can find it (it is very accurately outlined) on AllTrails. This is a challenging trail, 2 hours up 1-1.5 hours back. The weirdest part is that the way down may be more challenging than up. Your legs start to get a little shaky from all the stabilization, and there’s only 40% of it that you can comfortably jog it (find that it helps reduce wasted effort). Early September Sunday, we started at 6, were first at the top, walked around and took some photos/videos, went down and were done around 9:17. Saw 3 sheep and around 22 total people. The sights at the top are incredible. The hike itself is marvelous; there are incredible views of Bol and the enveloping mountains, and you can easily see the shifting in perspective as you take a few steps. Incredible activity, just be aware of the time and effort, and be prepared for calf or waist complaints either later in the day or the day after.
Marko B — Google review
A well marked trail, aprox 2 h of climbing up to 780 m. Recommended would be to wear proper shoes, have enough water and, if possible, leave early in the morning or almost in the evening to not get heated by the sun in the middle of the day
Dragos S — Google review
We hiked up and ran down, starting and finishing at Hotel Vitar, about 400m below the trailhead. It took us 1hr 40mins total, with about 10 mins at the top. The route is loose pebbles but very possible to jog it if you have some trail running experience. A lovely hike with some shade near the bottom but otherwise exposed - we started at 7am (in August) and I would recommend doing the same. By 10am I imagine it is boiling hot! The view from the top is stunning. There is a plaque to commemorate British Army troops who fought on Brac in WW2, which I found interesting. Highly recommended!

The building has an interesting story and the guide is very passionate about sharing it. Despite its outer appearance, the inner part of the building is not poor at all. House in a house, that's true. But that's it. I saw this first time 50 years ago, it's the same although I think some person is trying to make a little money of it. I can't know, because I didn't try and go in and talk to the person that's sitting in the inner house, but I've been around and suspected that if we walk in there will be some kind of "expectation" but that may just be me.

Fascinating piece of Bol history in the centre of the town. This place is kept going by enthusiastic volunteers who really want you to understand how the house within a house came to exist. It’s so easy to visit, yet so easily overlooked and the story behind it is really interesting. I highly recommend a visit if you’re staying in Bol.

A very nice place with an interesting history. This site is privately owned; the owner asks for a 2€ donation for each adult. A short film about the history is shown (with English subtitles). Thereafter it is possible to explore the place, and the owner offers to take pictures. We unfortunately had to leave quickly because of an upcoming thunderstorm (and our hotel was a 20 min walk away). When we visit Bol the next time, we will definitely come again!

Art gallery
Galerija malih formata - Koloč is an unexpectedly impressive collection located in a rather unassuming place. It features sculptures by strovic, Krsinic, and Deskovic that could rival those in much larger cities. The gallery also houses hundreds of paintings and graphics from various artists, making it a must-visit when on Brac. Visitors have praised the amazing collection and encouraged others to take their time exploring the hidden gems within.
As I walked through the main square by the church at night I would look up and see old wooden beams and paintings. I kept meaning to go. It does not open to 7pm. Amazing collection. Take your time. Many hidden gems. This should be way more patronized. The collector who donated this to the city should be praised. He has an amazing eye. Make sure you go. It’s free.

(Translated by Google) An unexpectedly good collection in a rather unremarkable place. The sculptures of Meštrović, Kršinić and Dešković are the envy of museums in much larger cities. In addition to hundreds of pictures and graphics from even more authors. It is mandatory to fast when you are on Brač. (Original) Neočekivano dobra kolekcija na prilično neupadljivom mestu. Skulpture Meštrovića, Kršinića I Deškovića da im pozavide muzeji u mnogo većim gradovima. Pored toga na stotine slika i grafika od još toliko autora. Obavezno postiti kada ste na Braču.
