Historical landmark
Villa Barbarigo is an unforgettable experience, with one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy that transports visitors to another world and era. The seventeenth-century villa is still partly inhabited by the Pizzoni Ardemani counts. The park features a magnificent labyrinth, making it worth a visit for its stunning landscape. Accessible by bus from Padova, it's recommended to plan the trip carefully due to limited bus schedules.
Thank you so much to the staff for helping us fix my husbsnd's bike after a visit at your place. You are amazing ... really ... we could continue our ride afterwards and had a great day. The park is gorgeous, by the way. So much enjoyed the company of the turtle.

Beautiful and fun place with children. Especially the maze is very exciting and not a simple one. We took 1 hour to find the exit in the maze. Have fun.

To get to Villa Barbarigo via bus from Padova is not too difficult. But there are only 2 buses per day from Monday to Saturday, so to get there and back the same day you have to do the following: Find the BusItalia Veneto ticket office in Padova (walk 80m to the left as you come out of Padova train station). Take the 12:00 bus towards Este (€4.10, route E006). GET OFF AT VALSANZIBIO at 12:46. Villa Barbarigo entrance is 100m from the Valsanzibio bus stop. For the return journey: Take the 18:06 bus from Valsanzibio towards Este (this is a continuation of the journey you were on before). GET OFF AT ESTE at 18:35. Take the 19:06 or 20:06 bus from Este to Padova (€5.70, route E013). I hope this helps!

(Translated by Google) Wonderful park. I went there without too many expectations and yet I came out full of wonder. A path among centuries-old trees, fountains, statues and areas created by Bernini to reflect on life and its beauty. The oldest labyrinth is of enormous value. Divided into areas, each referring to the 7 deadly sins. A splendor. Recommended for a walk in the middle of nature. Congratulations for the care with which the operators take care of the park. Thank you for your work (Original) Meraviglioso parco. Suddiviso in zone ognuno riferito ai7 vizi capitali.

(Translated by Google) The large garden, preserved in its original design, is impressive. It features mature trees, a huge labyrinth (admission fee applies), and repeatedly perfectly straight lines of sight. The vegetation is diverse and from several continents. You truly feel as if you've been transported back to another century. Unfortunately, the fountains didn't work as we were told. Only very small ones began to spray. The various statues added to the charm of the garden. The villa itself is in need of renovation (from the outside), but from a distance it looks majestic and stylish. For us, the visit was worthwhile, as the location alone is worth the trip.

Parco Urbano Termale is a stunning example of modern architecture, designed by the renowned Paolo Portoghesi. This expansive complex seamlessly integrates with the surrounding spa town, featuring a vast continuous lawn intersected by walkways and cycle paths, adorned with lush greenery and trees. Along its periphery stand prestigious residences, shops, and offices. The park serves as a connecting pathway between two areas of the city and offers an ideal setting for family strolls or leisurely dog walks.
A great green area, ideal for a family stroll or a walk with your dog. Many interesting shops around, you can find whatever you need!

The Monastero Benedettino di San Daniele in Abano Terme has a rich history dating back to 1075, originally built by the da Montagnon family. It was later home to the canons of S. Salvatore and then became the private residence of the BonomiTodeschini family until the mid-1900s.
(Translated by Google) In Abano on the tip of the S.Daniele hill there is the monastery of the Benedictine nuns, a place of peace and beauty, where from above you can marvel at a fabulous panorama. The monastery is beautiful with a fabulous stone and cypress staircase and you arrive inside the church. Then there is the convent of the Benedictine nuns with an adjoining museum and shop selling their artefacts. To go up on foot there is a long staircase immersed in the woods, a moment of true immersion in nature. You can also get on a bicycle by making a few hairpin bends and it is also a pleasant leg workout, accessible to everyone. Finally, you also get into the car, leaving the car in the parking lot and making two small hairpin bends. Worth a visit. (Translated by Google) Splendid complex currently managed by Benedictine cloistered nuns. Founded in the 11th century on the modest hill of Monte San Daniele, reachable both by car and by a path, it has maintained itself over time thanks also to the fact that after the suppression of 1771, it was purchased by the noble Todeschini family of Venice. Since 24 May 1948, the ancient monastery has returned to being a house of prayer, hosting a community of Benedictine nuns from Fiume. The façade, decorated with large oval stone carvings, welcomes the pilgrim under the benign gaze of the Redeemer and the two angels above the tympanum, a work by Corradini. The free visit includes the internal view of the church (standing behind the grate), the Belvedere, the rooms of the former villa (museum) which are: Sala del Fuoco, degli Stucchi, the Yellow room, the Green room and the Red room, the whose names refer to the color of the wallpaper on the walls. The Yellow Room was used by the Counts as a living room; the Green room, now used as a shop, was intended for gaming and the Red room as a dining room. The library has been transformed into a small exhibition space in which you can admire objects that silently tell the story of the monastery. A little-known pearl in the heart of the Euganean Hills, a very short distance from Abano and Montegrotto Terme. The Duomo di San Lorenzo, located in the old part of the city, is a historic religious building housing precious works of art including paintings from renowned artists such as Jacopo Ceruti and Pietro della Vecchia. The cathedral's bell tower has a base dating back to 900 A.D. and an upper part from 1315.
Beautiful Worship Center,.. With a nice ambience ...

Although not a particularly significant monument, the church is the result of stratified architectural interventions in the various eras and the last refurbishment dates back to the early decades of the 20th century. The interior has a classical layout with a single nave and the apsidal presbytery area, delimited by two large chapels, decorated with imposing Corinthian columns. Worthy of note is the prestigious musical activity that regularly takes place during the various cultural events held in this church. Of particular note are the organ concerts (the church has a magnificent instrument) of the highest artistic quality.

(Translated by Google) Historical building. The Duomo di San Lorenzo in Abano Terme, a church dedicated to Saint Lawrence, is one of the central churches of this small spa town near Padua, Italy. Its history goes back several centuries, as the town of Abano Terme has been known for its thermal springs since Roman times, and the church has played an important role in the life of the local population throughout history. Church of St. Lovrenca was rebuilt and renovated several times, and it got its present form in the 18th century. The interior of the church reflects the characteristics of the Italian Baroque, with a richly decorated apse, works of art and frescoes adorning the walls. The most important work of art in the church is the painting of St. Lawrence, the patron saint of the church, known in Christian tradition as a martyr, killed during the persecution of Christians in the 3rd century. The Duomo di San Lorenzo is not only a religious building, but also a historical symbol of the city, appreciated by locals and visitors as a place of prayer and spiritual gathering, as well as a witness to the rich cultural heritage of Abano Terme. Despite the fact that they close the doors at 12:00, they politely let us finish the tour. And they didn't mind taking pictures either. (Original) Zgodovinski objekt. Duomo di San Lorenzo v Abano Terme, cerkev posvečena svetemu Lovrencu, je ena izmed osrednjih cerkva tega majhnega zdraviliškega mesta blizu Padove v Italiji.

(Translated by Google) The cathedral, begun in 1780 and designed by Domenico Cerato, was finished at the end of the 19th century and consecrated in 1935. The neoclassical style façade from 1905 was rebuilt in 1967 in neo-Romanesque style. On the facade the elements that characterize the four evangelists stand out: the ox, the eagle, the lion and the angel, works by Luigi Strazzabosco. The larger one is furnished by the tabernacle of the Blessed Sacrament and on the counter-façade two statues from the destruction of the Paduan church of Sant'Agostino depicting Faith and Hope created by Domenico and his son Tommaso Allio,[2] and purchased before 1822 by the archpriest Gaspare Motti.[9] The altar paintings have different dates. The seventeenth-century painting is by Alessandro Maganza: Saint John the Baptist, and the canvas by Antonio Zanchi depicting Saint Joseph with Child is from the same period. Bartolomeo Litterini's canvas with the Flagellation of Christ is dated 1712, while there are two paintings by Pitocchetto: Christ in Glory with Saints and San Lorenzo.[2] (Original) Il duomo iniziato nel 1780 su progetto di Domenico Cerato fu terminato alla fine del XIX secolo e consacrato nel 1935.

In fact, it appears today as the eighteenth-century rebuilding of several parish churches from a previous era. Numerous valuable works are kept in the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, including paintings, sculptures and sacred furnishings. Museum
Villa Bassi Rathgeb, a historic 18th-century estate once owned by the noble Paduan family of the Dondi dell'Orologio, was acquired by the Municipality of Abano Terme in 1979. It now houses the valuable collection of Roberto Bassi-Rathgeb and serves as a cultural center and home to the Municipal Museum. The villa boasts ancient frescoes and is an intriguing destination for those interested in churches and places of worship.
Temporary exhibit of photography by Eve Arnold "All About Women" displayed throughout the museum rooms. We saw this June 2019.

The Sentiero 31 Monte delle Valli is a delightful intermediate-level trail that spans approximately 5 kilometers, looping through the picturesque hills of the region. Starting from the Piccolo Marte restaurant parking area in Torreglia, this path offers an exhilarating experience for mountain bikers, featuring mostly downhill sections with just a few uphill stretches at the beginning.
(Translated by Google) This trail is a nice surprise! By mountain bike it is almost completely downhill, except for a few hundred meters uphill at the beginning, if you start from the car park of the Piccolo Marte restaurant in Torreglia. In several sections you run on single track and, in several places, you come across branches towards other paths. It winds almost completely along the slopes of Monte Zago and Monte delle Valli and presents no particular difficulties or obstacles. It ends with a series of hairpin bends that lead to the asphalt of via Regazzoni. The view towards Abano and Montegrotto is beautiful and the flora that surrounds you is engaging. I rode it on dry ground. Obviously, walking is also recommended, with the possibility of a loop at high altitude.

The Garden of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio is a 17th-century masterpiece located near Galzignano Terme in the Euganean Hills. It features a hedge labyrinth, ornate fountains, statues, and old Boxwood trees. The garden's Baroque designs and whimsical water cascades make it a must-visit attraction. With its symbolic nature and implicit storytelling, the paths across the estate offer an opportunity for reflection.
Enchanting! One of the most magic Places we have ever been. We all where happy! Our Children (11, 14 and 16) loved this Place and where totally enthusiastic. And for sure, Children of this Age are very skeptical !We as Adults loved this Fairy Tale Place. The Maze was a real Adventure, the Trees - hundrets of Years old, the funny Animals, the Waterfeatures, the Sculptures - all amasing. And the Stuff - so nice. No Mainstream! Thank you!

Super awesome garden to explore. Especially the labyrinth and the island of rabbits. The whole place is well maintained and lush even in winter. Separate ticket for the labyrinth (which closes for lunch in the middle of the day) but we waited and it was so worth it! Our 8 year old loved it.

Incredible escape from the normal tourist trap. We were amazed by the tranquil setting and our peaceful stroll thru the meticulously cared for gardens. There is a one of a kind hedge maze that I guarantee you’ll get lost in. Lots of neat stuff at the gift shop and even a small food truck! You’d be a fool not to check this place out!
Eric B — Google review
The Gardens of Valsanzibio were about an hour drive and were built in the 17th century by the Barbarigo family of Venice as a thank you to god for being spared when plague hit the city. The gardens were designed by Bernini as a symbolic journey of man, from ignorance to salvation so I felt the €12 entry was a bargain compared to my immortal soul. The lady on reception was fabulous and gave us an introduction to the gardens and a suggested route. It was another hot day in the high 20s so the shade of the trees was most welcome. The boxwood maze was particularly interesting - at 400 years old it is one of the oldest in Europe and there was a tower in the centre so you could see your route out if you needed to. There was an island for rabbits who looked to be enjoying the sun, safe from predators and some lovely water features as well as shaded walks. We really should have visited the arboretum too but we decided to head back to Ferrara instead.

One of the most special and really well maintained garden with quite big territory. You can visit it regardless of weather. We got lucky with super moody rainy and foggy day, which was perfect atmosphere for this garden. Also that because it was just us enjoying whole area. The fountains have a break for siesta, so take a look at a time table.

Really nice place... The waitresses at the bar are great but the lady behind the counter is a mean person. A smile will do when you have clients, be them black or white! (Translated by Google) The MuCE represents the contemporary idea of a museum, not only a place of conservation but also a place of dissemination, study, community aggregation and promotion of the territory. The collection is truly interesting and representative of the Euganean Hills and the history of Galzignano. Personally, I also really like the decision to add tactile and olfactory elements which make the experience even more complete and inclusive. Last but not least, a very modern auditorium with over one hundred seats which hosts many events weekly. Furthermore, the complete absence of architectural barriers should not be forgotten, which therefore makes it accessible to everyone.

(Translated by Google) The museum tells the history, art and nature of the Euganean Hills. The naturalistic section is rich with the birds of the Hills and the collection of Renaissance ceramics. The video with the reconstruction of the villas of Galzignano as they appeared in the eighteenth century is very evocative and the olfactory points with the scents of the area are captivating! (Translated by Google) For years, after having visited it several times for direct purchases, I can only applaud this company. The excellent products on sale, the widespread friendliness and the constant availability of the staff present make it, in my opinion, a point of reference for the area in which it is located. I also highly recommend it for the brilliant commercial initiatives that are undertaken during the holidays. The remote delivery service is also very punctual. Finally, a personal thank you to Mr. Roberto, tireless collaborator and fine connoisseur of the products on display, of which he illustrates in great detail the particular qualities and characteristics. Well done. Bravi.

(Translated by Google) I've been there 2 times. The first time, the girl kindly described some wines to me that I didn't know. The last time, however, a guy approached me obviously asking if I needed help. Let me start by saying that I already knew what to get since the Notte di Galileo Riserva is a wine that I particularly like. Well... let's say that in my opinion he behaved in an unprofessional manner by describing the product in question as a simple red without many advantages and obviously praising the more expensive ones next to it which are dated and structured etc etc etc. I don't think the Galileo was priced that much for.

(Translated by Google) The Euganeans are not the Colli Orientali, the Langhe or the Chianti and, without unrealistic expectations, their wines can be pleasant. Vo's shop is friendly and welcoming; the products of the cooperative cellar are genuine and lend themselves more than decently to appropriate pairings, with simple foods or - the sparkling ones - with Campari for the spritz. The prices are a little higher than in supermarkets, but they are in line with the loyalty card. The line with emblazoned labels is more pretentious, but it lacks what might seem to be the objective of placing itself at the level of prestigious wines. The visit can be pleasantly combined with a climb to one of the many pleasant places on the immediately surrounding hills.

(Translated by Google) Neat and clean wine shop that collects local grapes and makes them with professionalism. Wide choice of wines in bulk (it is distributed with pomp, you pay for everything... even the sip given for tasting, which seems excessive to me), in bottles, with some excellences, and the competence of the reception staff, sometimes you search too much among the Euganean hills... when you have solutions at hand.

I was thus able to find the right wine for me and fully understand it, he also taught me some precautions to take to bottle it in the best possible way. It was an excellent experience that will definitely make me come back to buy again in this beautiful and pleasant winery!
