Nature preserve
Graeme Hall Wildlife Sanctuary in Barbados is a stunning nature reserve that boasts some of the island's last remaining undeveloped wetlands. The sanctuary is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including various bird species and mangroves such as red and white mangroves. Visitors can explore the area via a boardwalk and observe the local flora and fauna, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts. Although currently closed, efforts are being made to reinstate this important natural space.
OMG what a fabulous day! So beautifully designed with accessible pathways through mangroves and palms and incredible foliage sheltering birds and turtles and so much of what nature has to offer if we're willing to stop, be patient, watch and listen. The bird sanctuaries offered wild birds and tranquility, migratory and rescued and others, interactive and engaging. Saw iguanas and so many reptiles, all housed in pristinely clean and cared for sanctuary. The staff? Incredible! Welcoming, engaging, helpful and fun! Learned so much from Damian standing watch with the reptiles Robert, filled with evident passion in the migratory bird zone as well as from Annika and Nakila (forgive me if I got it wrong) in the Gully Aviary (so funny and knowledgeable - clearly love what they do) where I had birds eating from my hands and off my head 🤣 to Ryan in the tranquil wildlife haven which was exactly that, a breath of tranquil, fresh air. We even had Tony DaSilva, owner and protector of the trust who called us back to show us an Osprey perched gracefully across the lake and his love and passion for what he envisioned was so clear in the pride he exhibited; such a lovely man! The ladies at the ticket booth, staff along the paths, everywhere! Thank you. Words can not express my joy and I cannot recommend this enough as a perfect, peaceful, learning and enjoyable experience ! GO! You will not regret it!

Absolute must visit on your next visit to Barbados!!! The reinvigorated Sanctuary has brought fresh life to what was" just a swamp" before, is now a guardian of our natural heritage as an island in the tropics, the free flow trail through this wetland is perfect for nature lovers and children to interact with wildlife, while learning more about their environment! The new Aviary experience gives people the perfect opportunity to interact directly with birds usually seen in cages in zoos across the world, but being able to touch, feed and see up close our feathered friends is amazing!!
Master B — Google review
Well worth a visit. The birds are the star of the show here. The migratory bird area where they keep unreleasable rescued migratory birds is very cool; you get to see lots of different species of native migratory shorebirds from close by. The two huge aviaries full of parrots and other flamboyant tropical birds from around the world are truly amazing. The space is large enough and rich enough that the birds can fly around and display natural behaviors, but they'll also come right up to you, eat out of your hand, or perch on your hat (or try to steal your sunglasses, in the case of one blue and gold macaw who took a fancy to my girlfriend). The chance to see one of the last pockets of mangrove wetlands left in Barbados is also really cool.

Hidden gem but not for long. Well worth the price for the tourists. You can walk along the trails , enjoy the scenery and learn about the history of this place and then you can feed the birds or fish. Cute little birds , interacting with humans. Staff is knowledgable and polite.

Went here with my VBS from Chrsit The King Church. The aunty's and the children definitely enjoyed it here. On a day that was to have rain pouring, the Lord held it up for us to do this tour beginning to end. How good is our God who also gave us a lovely time start to end. Beautiful gardens and aurora, magnificent birds, parrots, ducks, snakes..and the monkeys...man were they huge. The Cafe here is the cutest. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and beautiful animals. We'll definitely come again. From Christ The King Church we thank you for havint us. Blessings.

I went to what was Graeme Hall Swamp over 40 years ago - when it was just the swamp. To see it now as Graeme Hall Nature Santury is mind blowing. What a transformation. It is a great place to visit. I recommend it highly.
Andre S — Google review
Wonderful family experience, feeding the fish and the birds was a highlight. Beautifully restored. Small cafe serving mostly smoothies at the end of the walk, which you can access without a paid ticket. Buy the animal and fish food combo!
Richard H — Google review
It's a self guided tour, you get to feed the fishes and the birds. Great for kids!!!! Staff are also friendly and knowledgeable.

Dover Beach, located in the bay of St. Lawrence on the south coast of Barbados, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The beach offers transparent waters with buoys for safety, wide sandy shores, and a variety of water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling with sea turtles, and swimming among colorful tropical fish. Visitors can also relax on sun loungers or watch locals play cricket or Bajan football at the nearby Dover Playing Field.
Beautiful beach close to St. Lawrence gap. Lovely area with a lot of restaurants and pretty safe in general.
Krasimira V — Google review
Beautiful clean, well kept beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas rented from Kenny each day for $30 barbados with no issues. The water is crystal clean and great for swimming in. If you head long the beach in the later afternoon there's a chance you'll see some turtles a few metres from shore. We swam with them within feet from us twice! We also saw a turtle nest hatching and the babies heading to the water before Barbados Turtle Protection came out. Lots of bars and cafes near by for food.
Jennifer C — Google review
Love it! Chairs & umbrellas are readily available for $30 BBD ($10/chair for two +10 for umbrella). There is a small park with swings & slides and a half dozen shops & restaurants. Pink sand and no one hassling you.
Amy M — Google review
Went in August when it was nice and quiet. Lovely beach and shallow enough but can still make a few laps without touching the bottom. Charles is great! We rented our two lounge chairs and umbrella from him for a decent price. $30 BBDS. Lots of apartments around and the playing field and boutiques and eats are nearby too. St. Lawrence Gap is just a street away.
Cheryl C — Google review
We got delicious pork bites at Patty's Cafe; she was super friendly. You can rent chairs on the beach and bring your own food and drinks. The water was a bit rough with too many waves, but otherwise very beautiful. It does get very crowded, though, as there are several hotels on the beach.
Goddess — Google review
I know it’s not the beaches fault but when the waves are big you won’t be able to see the turtles as the visibility is super low. Also there is loads of seaweed which is a bit annoying when you are swimming close to shore
George G — Google review
Nice beach with near restaurants. Also really great that you can do auqatic activities (kayak, paddle, surf, snorkeling, etc.) for a really good price at Charles Watersports! Had a great time. I ate to Daddy's and it was really good. Cheaper than the places around.
Ghislaine N — Google review
Beautiful Beach. A bit crowded on the sand with chairs and umbrellas, and the seabed is also uneven, walking into the water is very up and down before it evens out

Nestled along the stunning south coast of Barbados, Worthing Beach is a picturesque 700-meter stretch of white sand that invites visitors to unwind under swaying palm trees. The beach's calm and shallow waters create an ideal environment for families with young children, making it a perfect spot for sunbathing and swimming. With facilities like umbrellas and sun loungers available for rent, you can easily settle in for a day of relaxation.
Small but nice beach. Access through 2 side pedestrian ally ways. One is right in intersection of rendezvous hill road, it looks like a driveway but is a path. And another ally near to the Starbucks down the road
Adam C — Google review
A beautiful beach. Nice sand and places to sit if that's your thing. Some days there is more seaweed than others but that just depends on the current at the time. Highlight of this beach for me is the snorkling. There are so many species of fish of the reef and turtles most days once you know where to look. As with anything though on the reef and in the ocean, please remember to not touch them. I saw people walking over the reef during my stay. Just because it is shallow enough to doesn't mean you should.
Abi G — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches in Barbados. The sand is very soft and white and the water is crystal clear and shallow. There are big waves almost all the time so it’s great for fun times but I wouldn’t recommend it for small children.
Andreea — Google review
A nice little beach with easy access through some open resorts. Not great for shelling, but more than at other beaches.
Sasha V — Google review
There's one part of the beach you'll never get bored in the ocean. The waves are great. I was here in January and it was just perfect. The colors all day. Beautiful place. Not very crowded. Too bad some tourists thinking it's normal to leave their beer bottles behind.
Sabriye Ü — Google review
Worthing Beach is beautiful. Great waves to play in, lots of turtles, quiet, and the view of the sunset is breathtaking.
Shelley L — Google review
Lovely beach, although beach beds a bit random, a bit scruffy. Two little bars, about a pound per beer if you buy 4. Shallow chest high bay, warm water, turtles swim there! Easy walk from The Gap.
Marian C — Google review
This is indeed my happy place. I met a couple who rescued about a dozen baby turtles while I was there. The people are authentic and super friendly.

Maxwell Beach is a popular public coral-sand beach located near Oistins on the south coast of Barbados. It offers visitors a picturesque setting with white coral sand and clear turquoise waters, along with amenities such as picnic benches, sun loungers, and small Hobie cat sailboats for rent. The beach provides opportunities for various water sports including jet skis, scuba diving, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and sailing.
Maxwell Beach is a hidden gem with lively waves, making it a great spot for those who enjoy a more dynamic ocean experience. While there’s a breaker wall near the Sandals resort, the water can still be rough, so it’s best suited for confident swimmers. The beach isn’t heavily populated, offering a more peaceful vibe. Just keep in mind that the chairs are reserved for resort guests. If you’re looking for a less crowded, natural beach with some wave action, Maxwell Beach is worth a visit!
Lift O — Google review
Very picturesque beach. It's very quiet, can't rent sunbeds, no public bathrooms, etc, but it's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful,
Kim N — Google review
Underrated beach. Rather hard to find so it’s way less crowded than some beaches nearby.
Anna K — Google review
Beautiful beach with shallow gentle entry into the sea. Two areas where there are breakers making it accessible for non swimmers to enjoy. No sunbeds to hire as it is mainly used by the hotel guests along here but there is still public access. Very clean and no rubbish anywhere.
Sue G — Google review
Did not go in this time around. Way to wavy and red and yellow flags out. Beautiful atmosphere and lovely breeze.
M S — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach. A must visit
Krasimira V — Google review
Lovely day to spend an hour or two at Maxwell beach. A bit windy, and sandy, but nothing a cool dip in the ocean, to solve the sandy issues.
Brett C — Google review
Love this place. Great little beach bars to meet people at night. Waves can be choppy, but sea is fantastic. Turtles feed around the coral here in the mornings.

It was awesome staying at Rockley Golf and Country Club. Fantastic grounds for playing golf or lawn tennis. Easy access and very close to grocery, restaurants, bars, attractions and the beach. It is very peaceful and full of amenities. Swimming pool, coin operated washing machines and dryers, plenty space to walk and jog plus there's a shuttle service taking you out within a 3mile radius. You even get to experience the monkeys foraging on mornings, while the entire clan move across the property. They are quite accustom to humans and are noth bothered even when you get into close proximity to them.
