Bhagwati Chole Bhandar is a must-visit in Haridwar for food enthusiasts. This old-world establishment offers a variety of tempting dishes such as bhatures, kulches, and chaval served with hot and spicy chole. The special tari that floats atop the chole is not to be missed.
Very good taste....out of this world...the soup with the dish is very soothing.... atleast try once in your lifetime
Anshul . — Google review
Yummy and very tasty chole bhature, chole chawal and special chole soup must eat for bhature lovers.
Aristotle A — Google review
Taste was different and definitely a one time try. But if you are a TEA lover just opposite side there is a Tea Stall renowned by named Shanty Bhai, he serves awesome tea. Gauravbhai from Bhagwati Chole bhandar directed me to this Tea Stall. Wonderful Experience.
Haresh L — Google review
Bhagwati Chole Bhandar, located in the tourist area of Haridwar, is a small branch of a renowned and long-standing eatery. I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and overall, my experience was quite positive, earning it a four-star rating. The highlight of Bhagwati Chole Bhandar is undoubtedly their specialty dish, "Chole Bhature." The food here is truly delightful, and the Chole Bhature served are up to the mark. The chole, while a little extra oily, adds a distinct and flavorful touch to the dish. Although the oil content may not be the healthiest, it undeniably contributes to the overall taste and enjoyment of the plate. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the bhature. While they are tasty, I would suggest a few adjustments such as making them more crispy and less chewy, as well as reducing the oiliness. These suggestions would elevate the dining experience and make the dish even more enjoyable. One aspect that slightly detracts from the overall experience is the ambiance of the place. The restaurant is not well-lit, which can create a somewhat gloomy atmosphere. Additionally, the cleanliness and hygiene standards could be improved. These factors, coupled with the less-than-professional demeanor of the staff, can be a minor inconvenience for some patrons. It is worth noting that considering the prices charged, one would expect a more appealing ambiance. Despite these shortcomings, I believe Bhagwati Chole Bhandar deserves a four-star rating for the quality of its food. The delicious flavors and authentic taste of their Chole Bhature make it a worthwhile dining destination. However, I hope the management takes into account the feedback provided and works towards enhancing the ambiance, cleanliness, and professionalism of the establishment. With these improvements, Bhagwati Chole Bhandar has the potential to become an even more remarkable dining experience in Haridwar.

Not to good to be honest... Chole bhature ka taste bs thik thak lga not too good that i expected... + serve bhi bhot late hua + sitting area not good.. I suggest u to improve it 👍

Pathetic experience of morning breakfast , bhature were too much oily, and when reported the matter to dealing person, he denied the fact and harshly responded. Very poor service and food quality is bad and un hygienic

Best chole bhature, very old shop in Haridwar near post office and other 2 branch, one is ranipur mod and 1 is shivalik nagar. Nice taste and imp is no onion and no garlic add in chole.

Mohan Ji Puri Wale is a popular street-side eatery near the river in Haridwar, serving traditional North Indian snacks for several decades. Their specialty is the famous poori bhaji, featuring freshly fried, crispy pooris and mildly spiced potato curry. The menu also includes samosas, laddus, halwa, and gulab jamun. This spot is perfect for a satisfying meal after a visit to Har ki Paudi.
Much talked about but I didn’t really get what the hype is all about. It’s the plain humble puri with an assortment of dishes - channa curry, aloo curry & some sweet & spicy dish on the side. The aloo curry however is commendable..lightly spiced with a dominant hing (asafoetida) taste - avoid if not fond. However, what blew my mind was their fried rice - perfectly spicy, aptly crunchy with just the right amount of oil & seasoning. The kick of peeper just felt out of the world for the starving soul. Good place to explore a spree of options in sweets & savouries for dine in or take away.
Sonali S — Google review
Disappointed & Overhyped We tried their poori, sabji, chole, and halwa. Honestly, the food was average — and way too spicy for my taste. The biggest letdown was the lack of proper seating. We waited a long time just to get a spot, and even then, the experience was far from comfortable. The place feels overhyped, especially considering the hygiene and overall setup. Instagram made it look like a must-visit, but I walked away disappointed. If your budget allows, I’d recommend eating somewhere more hygienic and peaceful. I wouldn’t go again or suggest it to anyone.
NEHA T — Google review
Tried the kachori sabzi and ghee ka halwa with malpua. Both were good but the place is chaotic and there is extreme rush at the place especially im the evening after Ganga Aarti. No proper place to stand and enjoy the food. Yet this is the beauty of Harki Pauri ghat, but the food was good all in all.
Shuvottam S — Google review
Not really worth the hype. We tried the much-talked-about poori with halwa. It was good, but nothing special—tasted just like what you get at any regular stall in Haridwar. Maybe I was expecting too much. The place is quite crowded, but I must say they manage the crowd very well. Still, I wouldn’t call it a must-visit.
A K — Google review
It's one of best place to have good puri Sabji breakfast in Haridwar. It's near to Har ki Paudi. First thing you should take bath in Maa Ganga River and then eat their Garam Garam Puri Sabji. They serve puris with Alu ki sabji and Kaddu(petha) ki sabji. Try their Halwa as well. That's very tasty. They have other sweets on their menu. My goto food is this. Taste : 4.5/5 Price : 4/5 Highly Recommended. Thanks.
Arun — Google review
Safety concern: The stairs are inconveniently steep and dangerously close to the puri wok with hot clarified butter. If someone falls down the stairs, as it happened right in front of us, the person might fall straight into the wok or push the person making the puris into it. Gaurd rails must be installed. The puris are good. They taste different than the ones made in oil. But the atmosphere makes the experience worse. The seats are narrow, small and their placement is congested to even spread your arms while eating. So, either you can stand outside on the loud, crowded street and have them or sit inside with a hot atmosphere, congested seating. Lassi was good. Though, you might be served mildly cold lassi if you reach at rush hour. Recommended only if the weather is nice. Otherwise, the heat and the rush will take away half of the experience.
Mohit S — Google review
The service is absolutely pathetic. The staff is extremely rude and arrogant. They talk to customers as if we don’t even matter. Their behavior is so insulting that even beggars are not treated this way. They serve food as if they’re doing us a huge favor, with zero respect. No manners, no courtesy, no sense of hospitality at all. The place is filthy, the atmosphere is suffocating, and the attitude of the employees makes it even worse. It’s the most horrible and disgusting experience ever. The person in the green t-shirt is the most ill-mannered, rude, and disrespectful person. He has absolutely no sense of behavior, no courtesy, and no respect for customers at all.
Satvik B — Google review
Tried allu ki sabji with poori and halwa. Ok ok taste. Very much hyped place. Don't go there with high expectations.

When you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Haridwar, make sure to stop by Pandit Sevaram Sharma Doodh Wale, a beloved establishment that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over a century. Nestled in Moti Bazaar, this charming shop is renowned for its delectable offerings centered around milk and its rich derivatives.
I drank milk and it tasted extremely good, just like real milk. And I brought some sweets, which are as good.

Bruno D — Google review
Food is of good quality but we found the attitude of owner towards customer a bit lacking. We bought a lassi, 5-6 rabdi dishes, a hot milk and something else. All tasted good, but when we asked for taste of chocolate mithai, owner was reluctant to present a small portion and insisted that we buy it as he cannot offer for tasting. If customers buy items worth more than 500rs you can at least offer them tasting of few items..

This is a very old place serving Milk and Milk derivatives like Lassi with thick Malai. The sweets made here are also wonderful.

If you're a fan of kachoris, then Kashyap Kachori Bhandar in Haridwar is an absolute must-visit. This unassuming stall serves up crispy kachoris that are generously stuffed with a delightful mix of potatoes and lentils. Each serving comes on charming conical plates made from leaves, accompanied by rich potato gravy and tangy tamarind sauce that elevate the experience to new heights.
It was a perfect breakfast after a dip in the ganges. Situated on the way from ghats to out hotel, the mobile stall caught our eye and after trying once, we went back the second day. It serves hot, crispy and tasty kachoris with aloo curry. The flavours mix very well with essence of hing.

Serving authentic North Indian food, with specialities like Puri-Sabji, Kadhai Paneer, Kulchas, Kesar Lassi, Rabri, Kesar Kheer. Prices are reasonable, and the taste of food is awesome. Hoshiyar Puri is a must-visit restaurant in Haridwar, especially for anyone craving authentic North Indian vegetarian cuisine. Located in the bustling heart of the city near Har Ki Pauri, this iconic eatery has been serving delicious food for decades. One of the standout features of Hoshiyar Puri is its extensive and flavorful menu. They specialize in rich and traditional North Indian dishes, including a variety of paneer curries like Shahi Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala, and Kadhai Paneer, all of which are perfectly cooked with a balance of spices. Their Dal Makhani is another highlight—creamy, well-seasoned, and slow-cooked to perfection. If you love lentils, their Dal Tadka is equally satisfying with its smoky tempering. For bread lovers, they offer a range of tandoori rotis, butter naans, and stuffed parathas, each fresh, soft, and perfectly complementing the curries. The Chhole Bhature here is another crowd favorite, featuring fluffy bhaturas with spicy, flavorful chickpeas. If you’re looking for something simple yet satisfying, their Aloo Gobhi and Mix Veg are excellent choices. No meal here is complete without indulging in their desserts. Their Gulab Jamun is soft and syrupy, melting in your mouth, while the Kheer offers a comforting, homely taste. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple yet lively, with a constant rush of visitors. The service is fast, and the staff is courteous despite the heavy crowd. Given the generous portions and reasonable prices, it’s an excellent spot for families and food lovers alike. If you're in Haridwar and looking for an authentic, soul-satisfying North Indian meal, Hoshiyar Puri is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Food was so good and menu has very good options as compare to other restaurants. They need to work on their cleanliness of the table and washing area. Since the table and chairs was dirty and when we asked for cleaning, a guy came and clean the table with dirty cloth. And also waiter was rude while taking the order, he was giving attitude like why we came here to have food. Rest food is good.
Shekhar C — Google review
Visited this restaurant for dinner while visiting Haridwar. Definitely one of the best places to have North Indian food in Haridwar. They don’t have roadside parking so for that you need to ask one of their staff to help you get a place in a near by empty parking lot for which they are helpful. Parking is free for the patrons. Their dal tadka is amazing. Quality of the food is great while the quantity isn’t bad either for the price. If you are in Haridwar then definitely visit this for food

It's a must-visit place where you can indulge in their famous pedas, kulfis, barfis, and dry-fruit milk cake. This popular eatery is always bustling with locals and tourists alike.
Mathura walo ki Pracheen is just 10 minutes walking from har--ki-Pori. Mainly the shop is very old and famous for its Bedmi puri served with Sabji Dry Aloo, Sweet Pumpkin along with Chole.A trip to Haridwar is incomplete without having Poori Sabji and sweets from Mathura Walon ki Pracheen Dukaan. The delicious bedmi poori is served with dry potatoes, pumpkin, and potato curry. Their Sweet lassi is also very famous. The are selling other Sweets the rates are between Rs:- 680 - 800 per K.G.The Gulab Jamun and halwa are must-try here. Also, try the winter special kacchi haldi (raw turmeric) ke ladoo. The shop is in the interior, adject to Har ki Paudi, Haridwar. The space for sitting is very less so we have to wait 20 minutes to 30 minutes for the turn.
SURESH M — Google review
I liked the poori sabzi, fresh and delicious. White Peda was nice but I’ve had better. Busy shop in a busy lane. Also, for sweets, you have to pay in cash. For other items, you can pay through UPI too. They have a seating area, just ask for it if you don’t see it.
Joshi J — Google review
I visited Mathura Walo Ki Prachin Dukan for their puri-sabzi expecting something special. The poori were fluffy and golden, sabzi had a good home-style flavour with dry potatoes and pumpkin cooked in desi ghee. Overall food was average in taste, I think bloggers created hype of the place. You’ll likely wait for a seat, and the space is cramped; hygiene is okay but not top-class. If you’re expecting a refined restaurant-level breakfast, you might be slightly disappointed. But if you’re looking to soak in local flavour and enjoy a good breakfast snack in Haridwar, it’s a solid choice.

PUNJABI TADKA RESTAURANT IN HARIDWAR NEAR RAILWAY STATION SERVING VERY DELICIOUS FOOD EVEN AT THE PERIOD OF KAWAR YATRA
Rajat P — Google review
This Dosa Plaza is just one black spot on the successful franchise who have their presence across the world. I ordered 1 sambhar with 4 vadas and garlic roast dosa. The vada are not made up of urad but both interior and exterior are different. The interior of vada made first and then dipped in corn flour or maida which is quite surprising. The garlic in the dosa is so overcooked that they have caramelized and tasted sweet. I have written a detailed email to Dosa Plaza HQ to take care of this outlet as the owner is ready to serve anything in the name of food other than food and charge exorbitantly. The emptiness of Dosa Plaza, Haridwar at 12:48pm shows that people already know what they are beingserved. I had to visit Vaango which is 100steps away to thwart the taste. I have written detailed review of Vaango, their food and how they are doing it better.

We visited this place in the evening time and tried thali, Mysore masala dosa, regular dosa and paneer sabji with roti and paneer chilly. All of them were nice on taste but sambharchatani was average. Now talking about the service which was a bit slow maybe because of less staff. The food tastes were nice but the prices were a bit higher than the other restaurants. They keep the hygiene, but still, we could see insects near the seating area. Rest was ok ok. Overall, the experience was average.

People looking for something fancy in the holy city of Haridwar can visit this place once. Quite close to the railway station, you can find an array of veg items from southindia to Chinese to Punjabi fusion. We ordered onion masala dosa, dahi ke kebab and some fusion dosa. Apart from the onion masala dosa other dishes were average in taste. Pocket pinch is also high as compared to nearby eateries.

It's located just across the main entrance of Haridwar railway station. Tried sandwich uttapam, it was very delicious. Felt light but fulfilling at the same time. Definitely worth trying. Also ate spring roll dosa, was of average taste. If you are looking for South Indian food options near railway station, you may visit this place. The service is quite fast.

the place is nearly infront of the haridwar railway station, just at walking distance from the bus stand as well as the railway station. it as wide variety of eatables, but as it is station area so it might comparatively be costlier than other restaurants nearby, but its worth it. Invitation Restaurant is a popular multi-cuisine eatery located in the heart of Haridwar, near the Vishnu Ghat. For over 15 years, it has been serving a wide variety of dishes from around the world, ranging from traditional Indian snacks like Samosas and Kachoris to international favorites like Pizza and Pasta. The restaurant is well-known for its consistent quality, generous portions, and nostalgic ambiance that evokes fond memories for many patrons.
Have been eating here for past 15 years or so. This restaurant has made its mark for quality food in haridwar. The taste , quality and quantity has always been great here. They haven't changed a bit and that is the best part. The restaurant brings nostalgia every time we dine here. So many amazing memories are associated with this restaurant. Invitation is a household name among local residents, and goes filled almost every evening. I recommend hot n sour soup, cream of mushroom soup as appetizer, paneer tikka masala, jalfrezi, kadhai paneer, baked vegetable, vegetable munchurian, dal, etc as main course, and onion kulcha/,garlic naan for bread. You will like the taste they serve.

Very good place for Family Dinner and wide variety of tasty food available🍜🥗🍱🍧. Very good service , even if restaurant is full they give their speedy service. Present at main Haridwar road and can be noticed easily👀. But there is only problem that is parking. If you are having a big car🚗 you may have trouble for parking your car.

Personally I don't feel much good about this restaurant. Reasons like limited number of seats and you feel uncomfortable while sitting, cost is at higher end against food quality, staff is not very keen to serve you, billing time is much more, parking issues etc . Restaurant is not comparatively heigenic as others near by. So you can find choice in opposite hotel le grand and Dominos next to invitation.

It's a pathetic place for those who really want a good service from a particular restaurant. I was there and it took 1.5 hr there due to pathetic service. Even after half an hour they didn't served the bread to eat, even after placing an order with different waiters. For water also regular request were placed. And when I told this to the owner, he just told sorry, bahar log wait kar rahe hain. I mean he doesn't care for us. I think it's the worst restaurant in haridwar as of now. There are only around three to four waiters working and seating tables are more then 10. Now I got the reason why the restaurant loss it's popularity in these years as no one wanna go to a pathetic place.

Vegetarian main Kya hi hota h ? Tired of listening to the freaky questions , this place gives answer to all the questions. So many varities with the best taste. Though little less on ambience, which could be a workaround. Highly recommended to satisfy any kind of taste bud.

Very bad service and customer dealing. Cold water not available in month of April. No serving even if you request for it. No deserts or ice cream available even it's mentioned in the menu. After all this expecting a handsome tip..

Hotel Raghuvanshi Gujrati Bhojanalay is a culinary gem located near the railway station in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The restaurant offers an unforgettable dining experience with traditional Gujarati, Punjabi, and Marwari dishes. Their thali is particularly noteworthy, featuring a symphony of authentic flavors and generous portions at an irresistible price. Additionally, the restaurant provides an adapted menu for children with delicious and healthy snacks and drinks.
Thali price is INR 150 for unlimited food. Serving staff is very cooperative and good service is too good. Food taste is also good and familiar to North Indian food lovers. Interior is average. This restaurant is located opposite in the Shiv Murti Gali (exactly opposite to Railway Station) Overall rating is good 👍

Located in the heart of Haridwar, Fun N Food Restaurant is a haven for travelers in search of delectable vegetarian cuisine. The menu boasts an array of dishes including spring rolls, pizzas, and sandwiches. The restaurant is ideal for birthday parties and group gatherings, with ample seating and an outdoor area for events. While the food is not described as extraordinary, it receives positive feedback overall. The courteous staff ensures a seamless dining experience within an inviting ambiance.
This restaurant has great food, AC (rare in some places), IPL streaming, and brilliant atmosphere. The Dal Makhni, Paneer Bhurji, Missi Roti, Butter and Garlic Naan, Kadhai Paneer and Cream of Tomato soup is amazing and tasty and well presented. Would 110% recommend. We ate in, but delivery is also available.

We tried a few different specialties and we liked almost all of the preparations.Kathal Masala was their special dish of the day and we liked it. This place also has outdoor seating, which would be really good during the winter months. It's maintained well. Reasonably priced and service was very good.

📍 Restaurant Review – A Once Famous, Now Disappointing Experience Visit Purpose: Went after a long time, as in the past this restaurant was known for its excellent taste and quality. Unfortunately, this visit turned out to be a complete disappointment. --- 🥣 Starters Soup: The only positive point of the evening. The soup in the starter was tasty and well-prepared. --- 🍜 Main Course Fried Rice & Manchurian: Very poor experience. The Manchurian balls were sinking in the gravy, and the entire dish along with the rice was served cold. Replacement Dish: After complaining, the waiter replaced Manchurian with Cheese Chilli Gravy but served us the same fried rice, just reheated on a pan. This left a slight burnt smell, clearly ruining the taste. Cheese Chilli Gravy: Overloaded with salt, making it almost inedible. Chilli Garlic Noodles: No freshness or proper taste; felt carelessly prepared. --- 👨‍🍳 Service & Response When we raised our concern, the staff did replace the dish, but the solution was worse than the original problem. At billing time, we tried to give feedback directly to the owner. His casual reaction was shocking—he simply said “the main cook is on leave today” and showed no interest in addressing our complaint. --- ❌ Overall Experience Food: Cold, tasteless, and poorly prepared. Service: Unprofessional and careless. Management: Disinterested in customer feedback. --- ⚠️ Recommendation This restaurant, once popular for its quality, has lost its charm completely. They neither serve good food nor care about their customers. Such negligence in the food industry is unacceptable. 👉 Strongly recommend residents of Haridwar to avoid visiting this place if they value their time, money, and dining experience.

Lung soup - similar to Manchow Soup 3. Honey chilli Potato - awesome n crispy 4. Onion uttapam - ok ok 5. Chilli garlic Noodles - best of all ❤️ 6. Chilli Paneer Gravy - delicious It's hard to find good restuarant in Haridwar rather you will find dhabas more but you can visit this restaurant and have good food.

My first experience with Swiggy was very bad because this was my first order today which I made with Swiggy, there is a restaurant in Haridwar named Fan & Food, I ordered noodles and French fries from them, instead of them I got noodles but I did not get any cutlery with it, I did not get a spoon, I did not get a plate, I did not get any sauce and the quantity of noodles was so less that we could not even eat one person in Rs. 200. I was thinking that French fries would be good but instead of French fries I got spring rolls I met him and that too in bad condition, his test was very bad. I contacted Swiggy, even after that they said that we have the option of bus mail, you can mail me to all of us. This facility is only for shopkeepers. I called the helpline and even after mailing, I have not received any reply till now. We come from Delhi NCR, but we had a very bad experience with Swiggy. From today onwards I will not order anything from Swiggy. Swiggy bus is to fool the customers. I want to tell you again. The name of the hotel is Haridwar. There is a restaurant on Ranipur mode with the name Fun and Food. Never used it. Let's go, he gives us a lot of food

Staff misbehaved with us. Staff sitting on reception even argued and humilated us. Earlier i admire this place very much. I have been here many times. But the last time i visit with my sister and father my experience in worst. My faith lifts up from the resturants. We entered around 11:00 pm and other cutomers are also there enjoying their dine. Staff didnt mentioned that they are closing otherwise we have not gone there. When all other customers left around 11:30 satff shuttered the front gate and started winding up. Putted chairs on the table switching off fan and switching off ACs and also the LED screen. We are in betwwen our dinner. They just want us to gulp all the food we ordered in just 5-10 mins. If they are closing they should have told us earlier but they didnt mentioned that may be due to greed of money. Hence i will also try to post this on social media and also will go to consumer court if i can.

Nestled in the vibrant streets of Haridwar, Jain Chaat Bhandar is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Indian street food. This beloved eatery draws both locals and visitors alike with its mouthwatering array of chaat options. From the crispy aloo tikkis to the delightful Dahi Golgappa, every dish promises an explosion of flavors that will leave your taste buds dancing.
One of the iconic cold chat items. Their Patta chat is unique. We had pata chat, kanji vada glass, dahi and pani ke gol gappe.
Ashish T — Google review
Visited here by checking reviews. It's deep inside the market. You can not eat the chat standing outside as they say their corporation has ordered that other shopkeepers may disallow it. We ate Chaat patta & Kanji Vada. Kanji Vada is their special dish. It was good. Attaching speciality about Kanji Vada.
Piyush A — Google review
The eatery is old and popular. Serves only select Indian vegetarian street food delicacies. There is no parking space here, since it is in the middle of main market street. Congested place, and the seating is limited (say seating for 10 people, other 10 can stand outside). Their specialty is dahi bhalle papdi and kanji vada. It’s a good try if you are into tangy and spicy street foods.
Ajay D — Google review
Jain Chat Bhandar in Haridwar is a delightful place to experience authentic and flavorful Indian street food. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a lively atmosphere and the enticing aromas of various chaats and snacks. One of their standout offerings is the Kanji Vada, a unique and refreshing dish that many reviewers rave about. The tangy and slightly pungent fermented drink combined with the soft lentil fritters creates a burst of flavors that is both invigorating and delicious. It’s definitely a must-try if you're looking for something different. Their other chaat items, such as the Patta Chaat and Dahi Golgappe, are also commendable, with a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy notes. The ingredients are fresh, and the preparations are hygienic, which is always a concern when it comes to street food. What adds to the positive experience is the friendly and efficient service. The owner is often present, interacting with customers and ensuring that everyone enjoys their meal. The prices are also quite reasonable, making it a pocket-friendly option for a satisfying snack. While the seating area might be a bit limited and can get crowded during peak hours, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Jain Chat Bhandar is a gem in the bustling streets of Haridwar, offering a true taste of local flavors that you shouldn't miss. If you're in Haridwar and craving some delicious and authentic chaat, this place is highly recommended!

We visited Jain Chaat Bhandar in Moti Bazar, near Har Ki Pauri and it was fantastic! Tried their Kanji Chaat and Golgappe, and honestly, it’s the best we’ve had in town. The flavors were perfect, super fresh, and had that authentic Haridwar touch. Special mention to Jain Ji’s humble and polite behavior; he made us feel genuinely welcomed. The service was quick, clean, and everything was well-organized despite the busy crowd around. If you’re in Haridwar and craving some good, authentic street chaat, this place is a must-visit! 💯✨ Highly recommended! 😋👏

The kanji wada offered at this establishment is exceptionally flavorful. The patta chat is also quite enjoyable. I highly recommend trying both of these dishes. The Jain chaat bhandar consistently provides high-quality chaat. It's a great place to enjoy traditional Indian street food.

Nestled along the picturesque Ganges, Chotiwala is a casual dining restaurant that offers a wide array of Indian, Chinese, and Tandoori dishes at budget-friendly prices. While their menu is diverse, the true highlight lies in their Indian cuisine. Situated in Har Ki Pauri, this eatery is renowned for its elegant food presentation and is an ideal spot to satisfy your cravings with delectable and hygienic meals.
Not so clean but you can try once just for the experience for sure....better than the other eating places around the same area.

Do not go to this fake chotiwala restaurant. They said today's special Gajar Ka Halwa, and then they kept that in the fridge saying we prepared that in the morning and as it should not get stale we keep it in the fridge. Used Dalda to prepare that. If you don't get seats anywhere in any other restaurant then visit this and have parathas. Even the chole bhature wasn't good at all. And then waiters behave as if they worked really hard to serve and you should pay them a healthy tip amount. Owner is also cheap
Pratik P — Google review
During my recent visit to Chotiwala Restaurant, I was quite disappointed with the overall dining experience. The restaurant has a well-known name and a strong reputation, so naturally, I expected a wide range of delicious North Indian dishes as mentioned in their menu. However, to my surprise, most of the items listed on the menu were unavailable. When we asked for our choices, we were informed that only two items were being served Chole Bhature and Puri Bhaji. This was quite frustrating, especially for a place that presents itself as a full-service traditional restaurant. A limited menu may be acceptable during off-hours or under special circumstances, but there was no prior notice or explanation for such a restriction. It felt like a classic case of “big name, small service.” The ambiance and branding create high expectations, but the actual food variety and service delivery do not match the hype. For a restaurant with such a strong legacy, I believe this kind of experience can be disheartening for many first-time visitors and tourists. I sincerely hope the management looks into this issue either update the menu to reflect what is consistently available or ensure that the promised variety is truly offered. A name like Chotiwala carries cultural and historical value, and it deserves to live up to that reputation not just in name, but in actual service.
PARTH P — Google review
I had high expectations from this place but honestly, it was a huge disappointment. I ordered Garlic Naan, Lungar Wali Dal, Paneer Tikka Masala, and Lassi. The naan was okay-ish at best (3/10). The paneer tikka masala was honestly terrible (1/10). The dal was just below average (4/10). The lassi was the only decent thing (6/10). The staff was polite and attentive, so no complaints there, but everything else fell short. The place felt cramped, not very clean, and lacked any ambience. They even had the AC running with the doors wide open, which made no sense. For the price vs quantity and quality, it’s absolutely not worth it. Portions were small, food was bad, and it felt like a waste of money. Overall: Completely avoid this place if you’re looking for good food in Haridwar.

Chotiwala has a reputation for its best quality food. However, this restaurant is opposite of that. The restaurant's location is good right at the Har ki poudi in Haridwar, but the food quality and service were very poor. The food was cold and tasteless. The eating area was not cleaned and hygenic. The food quality was very very poor. A few family members got stomach upset and diarrhea. Top of that, the staff seems greedy.

So there are multiple chotiwalas in near vicinity. Every claiming to be original. We ate Chola Batura at Deluxe Chotiwala. Deluxe written so small that you’ll definitely miss it. The Chola Batura was phatura. Absolutely oily batura and chola was not visible as it was completely drenched under oil. What was even more disappointing is that the Original Chotiwala does nothing to stop imposters spoiling its name.

****NOT RECOMMENDED**** I can say they are fraudsters. I asked the rate for Amritsari Kulcha and the owner said it is ₹90. Additionally, when I was served with Amritsari Kulcha and Chhole, I again asked the respective person, is it for ₹90? He replied - Yes. Then just after 1 minute, the owner came to me and said the price of Chhole is separate and the total will be ₹150. I was surprised by the behaviour of the owner (SardarJi). I told him that if you're Punjabi then you're totally insulting the whole Amritsar, because the Kulcha is served along with Chhole. As I already started eating they took away chhole and may have served to someone, which were tasted by me. However, the quality of Kulcha was good. Overall, very bad experience.

Ordered their VIP thali and dal makhni rice combo. Firstly they didn’t send any spoon and tissues. They did not send rice either with the thali which they mention in the menu that rice is included. Food was too much oily. Dal fry in the thali was good though. Dal makhni rice was not good at all but their green chutney made it taste better. Ordered after seeing high rating on Zomato but later I saw google reviews. Google reviews are better explaining the restaurant than Zomato ones. Average food.

Too much over priced. They didn't explain the menu and when we asked for the bill it was 800+ . We ordered 3 dishes and it cost this much... We ordered 2 chola kulcha and they said khulcha and chola didn't come together they charged separately. They charged us for dahi also... 1 plate chola khulcha cost 120+140+60 Also the same with the aloo Paratha.... Paratha is separate and dahi is separate.... 2 chola kulcha and 2 aalo paratha cost 800+ Also they forced us to eat what we didn't order.... Behaviour of the staff was not good... From my deepest heart I never recommended this restaurant to anyone. Over priced and behaviour of the staff is not good.... Avoid eating here without checking the menu yourself

Food is very very costly. Dam aloo is 170rs in a little plate. Lachcha paratha is so small ... Cleanliness is below 1star. You can get same food in a little better and in lower cost. Basically dam aloo price is 60 to 80 rs . But you have to here more than double for less than quantity. I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I've taken 2 aloo dam each of 170 and 4 lachcha paratha each of 35. Total 480. But they calculate 500. I'm not asked why they add 20.

Didn't really relish the meal and the behavior of staff was too annoying, find other better place

This kind of restaurant is looting well and food is not as cool as prices. You may have to eat outside because there is no mote space to eat inside

When you're in a Dharmshala you can't expect service like hotels, but it was clean and fair enough. They have power backup, which was life savinf in the heat of May.

Not vert good place to eat. Average food and keeping the quality in mind, the prices are high. This is near pawan dham so for many people it is convenient but there are many eateries outside. Paneer and dal were good but the rotis was really bad.
Abhishek K — Google review
Pawan dham provides rooms where you can stay when you are visiting haridwar. The rooms are good. They provides small four beds in one room and the charges are also reasonable. The restaurant is next to the dham where you can find good quality food. There are two temples also formes near this. There is sheesh temple where you can find everything made of glass.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in a prime location, Pracheen Mathura Wale is a must-visit culinary gem in Haridwar, celebrated for its authentic 'poori aloo'. After enjoying a spiritual dip at Harki Paudi, this charming eatery offers the perfect spot to indulge in a hearty breakfast paired with delightful sweets. Despite its small size and often bustling atmosphere, visitors are consistently treated to exceptional service and warm hospitality.
Eating puris here was an amazing experience. Small puris with 3 different subzi and also the service people nearby to top off subzi as needed gave us a great experience. I also bought their moong daal burfi which was the best burfi I’ve ever tased
Addy K — Google review
I tried the famous Dahi Kachori from the iconic Pracheen Mathura Wale, and it truly lived up to the hype! The taste was absolutely delicious rich, tangy, and full of authentic flavors that reminded me of traditional street food at its best. However, it’s important to note that the stall is located in a public area, so the surroundings aren’t very clean. If you’re particular about hygiene or ambiance, this might be a bit disappointing. That said, for those who can look past the setting and are simply there for the food, the Dahi Kachori is a must try. Totally worth it for the taste alone!
PARTH P — Google review
This place is made popular more by social media than its food. If you are ok to wait to find seats in a crowded shop or eat by the roadside, then do try the poori sabzi. The poori and aloo sabzi is average but the kaddoo sabzi/chutney is good. I am sure there are many similar food places in Haridwar with similar taste and quality and hopefully better hygiene. If you have not been here, do try once.
Nitin P — Google review
Ordered poori and kachori with lassi... Kachori was overstuffed and sabzi was chole and aloo. If you are looking for brajwasi style sabji... You will be disappointed. Rest lassi is made of dabba wala dahi .. so no thick malai on the top with flavour of gulab and kewra... Ok type place for eating food.
S R — Google review
First of all Don't fool by its name, it's not original prachin mathura wale. The original is in moti bazar and they have copied name from there. service here is pathetic and so is the taste of food. Prices are very high too. We Took puri sabzi here for Rs.90 for each plate of 4 small puries which also do not contain any stuffing of dal or anything. They serve it with chholey and aloo and tried to imitate near by joint mohan puri wala but totally failed. Service staff is very very rude and so is the owner. No cleanliness is maintained.
Hitesh R — Google review
Food - Good Cleanliness - Good Must tries: Aloo puri Samosa chat Kachori subzi Shira Malpua is served cold so have it from the adjacent shop and not here.
Lalit B — Google review
Several people in the area told us to visit this place for delicious snacks. We went in but it was such a disappointment. It is one of the most unclean places to eat. Staff including owner appeared rude to the customers. They don't clean the tabels properly and seem they don't even care. You will find food traces all over the table and ground. Plate made up of leaves is overfilled and dripping from all the places. It is not at all hygenic if you truly care for your health. Please avoid if possible.
Ashish K — Google review
It is one of the oldest shops in Haridwar, and whenever I visit Haridwar, I usually go there to have the halwa. The quality has, of course not been maintained, though it is still better than the fare available in the neighbouring shops. I've visited very often, more than a hundred times, between 1988 - 2007, and after that, infrequently. I now go there only for nostalgia's sake.

The food and beverages are quite good, and affordable. I've been hanging around this restaurant for a decade now! Tried everything, and it’s my go-to for a quick snack. Took 1 star out because of the space availability . It gets overcrowded frequently but doesn't have much seats available. Otherwise it's all good..

Happinezz is a fantastic spot for budget-friendly dining. The delicious food here not only comes at a great price but also boasts incredible flavors that are hard to come by even in more upscale establishments. Their cheeseburger and grilled sandwich are particularly noteworthy. While the quality of the food is excellent, the seating area is quite limited, so be prepared for cozy quarters when you visit.
Best place for cheap eats. Not just in terms of cost but also the taste is too awesome that is really hard to find even in good places. The best one is the. Cheese burger and grilled sandwich.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Bengali cuisine in Haridwar, look no further than Khawa Dawa (Dada Boudir Hotel). This gem is renowned for its delicious and freshly prepared dishes that truly capture the essence of Bengali flavors. Located conveniently opposite Birla House, it stands out among numerous other Dada Boudi establishments in the area. The attentive service from a friendly staff who communicate in Bengali adds to the warm atmosphere, making every visit enjoyable.
*This restaurant is on the other side of the road requesting to change the location. Very good quality food must be recommended.

Awesome tasty food.😋😋😋 Value for money.. Excellent behaviour of all the service staff including the manager of the hotel.. Now what I found in Haridwar is that lots of Dada Boudi Hotels have opened up. But if you want to really taste authentic Bengali food at it's best quality then go for this hotel... It's opposite to Birla House. Moreover they also deliver food to your respective hotels if the need arises against a minimal delivery charge. Note: Don't go by the signboard of different hotels like for eg. Purono Dada Boudi Hotel, aasun dada dada hotel etc. I am visiting Haridwar since last 10 years and believe me I find the same quality being maintained by this hotel..
Abhik B — Google review
Dada Baudi khawa dawa is a small restaurant opp Birla house , food is ok considering Rs 60/ per thali, frequented by Bengali pilgrims. Major improvement is required on the service part , the gloomy faced waiters bang steel glasses on your table , do not want to serve all the items on the menu unless asked .Over all their body language towards customers is not positive. Another point the hand-wash basin outside is without soap most of the times. Haridwar has got many Dada Boudi eataries, story of all are similar or worse. Bengalis flock there to eat Bengali food ,do not bother about the finer points ,they are just concerned about cheap Bengali food. As Bengalis are not good business people the eatery owners never emphasis on finer points.
