We ate a long, slow family lunch and enjoyed every bite. We were last to leave but never felt rushed. The food was tasty and presentation great. All served with efficiently and with a smile.

We had an excellent lunch in Le Parvis, especially given the price. The food was cooked in a clean, pure style with a heavy focus on flavors. There was no need for complex presentation or embellishments. The weather called for simple, good food. The maitre was friendly, jovial and all-seeing. Service was quick and correct. Definitely an address to remember for a tasty lunch in Orange!

Excellent food and service! Starter and main course Michelin star quality. Bit surprised that they served salad with the cheese, and also a bit too many out of stock in the wine list. But will definitely visit again if I am in Orange

While travelling in South of France, We have stopped in this restaurant in Orange ( only 5 mins away from the A7 autoroute). Light food, good and tasty.Wine buy the glass very intersting. We have enjoyed the stop over during lunch. It is worth getting out of the freeway

Delicious food, and an excellent wine list, with an emphasis on Provençal produce. Very friendly and helpful staff. There was no vegetarian main on the set menu but they were happy to prepare something off menu.

Me and my girlfriend appreciate good food .We stayed in Orange for couple of nights and dined in Le Parvis ! Excellent meal , awesome atmosphere and service ! One of the best restaurant we ever eaten. Truly recommend!

A fantastic restaurant with seating outside and plenty of room inside if you prefer. We Had two great meals here during our two week holiday near Orange and enjoyed them both, the escargot starter was lovely... the burgers are very good and huge, try the pavè du salmon with rice its superb. Very friendly owner and waitress and the service is awesome and so is the food, also try a picon beer here its a very french way of adding picon to a beer which transforms it into something wonderful ...try it you will love it at Monteverdi👍

This place is so cute, the service friendly, and the food delicious. Had the salmon and the shrimp and they were both excellent (except the fries that came with the shrimp). Local delicious wines by the glass very reasonable at around 6 euros.

We went here yesterday. It's a nice restaurant a short walk from the theater or the Arc de Triomphe. The food is great and the staff is very friendly. We started with a shared plate of Escargots, a dish I've never had before, but ended up being very tasty. For the main dish I went for something I'm more familiar with, the hamburger, which cannot really go wrong and indeed had a great taste as well. All in all if you're in the area I'd recommend stopping by this place

A great place to eat for some lovely French food

We reserves this restaurant on a Wednesday and it was quite decent filled. The stuff was friendly the whole time, broken english, and sometime not as attentive. The food was perfekt, sooo hot (maybe a bit too hot to be honest), but super delicious and high in quality. We ordere 4 tajines and briwattes as a starter and the biscuits for the dessert. Everything was delicious and can be recommented. The biscuits are really sweet but have a original taste. The one thing we did not like was the bread which was served to the starter and main dishes. It is way to light and unfortunately does not really have a taste. We would recommend to serve a heavier baguette, maybe even a white and a brown one, but both should have some substance. All the best to the kitchen and thanks for this great evening!

This place offers delicious and generous vegan dishes as couscous and tajine. It’s the best option in Orange for vegans and vegetarians.

We visited the Patio twice. The first time we had the menu of the day, which included duck breast, but it was a little tough. The second time we had the €49 menu. Individually each dish was excellent, but overall there was not enough variation in the type of food being served. Including the amuse-bouche we had four dishes with mousse type consistency. If there was more variety we would happily give 5 stars. The patio garden is delightful as was the lady serving us.

We had a wonderful lunch here. Simply the menu of the day: dressed crudités, filets de rouges, clafoutis figues. Everything fresh perfectly seasoned, perfect portion size, and a great selection of wine by the glass. One of the best meals we have had in any country, highly recommended.

We were visiting Orange on Thursday, market day, and saw the “Menu de Marché” for 24€ posted. All three courses, entree, fish, and dessert, were delicious and beautifully plated. In addition, we were surprised with an amuse-bouche of a tuna tapenade with our apéritif and a second small dessert with our espresso. Friendly service, too. I recommend that you stop by around 11:00 to make a lunch reservation, especially for outside seating on market day.

There are lots of good restaurants in Orange, but this was the best dinner in all categories that we had while in Orange. We really appreciated that the wine in half bottles was excellent, not always the case in other restaurants. This restaurant was recommended by locals and we were very grateful to them. Highly recommend this place.

We came for lunch on a Saturday before an event at the theater. The restaurant owner was very friendly, he went above and beyond to make us happy. Staff is nice and restaurant atmosphere is beautiful. The food is Mediterranean and absolutely delicious. We would eat here again and again!

Highly recommended if in Orange. They are really helpful when selecting wines. The food was great. We sent back the ceviche, it tasted a bit weird. They helped us out in a very professional manner, and we did not have to pay for it. The manager, Tom, was very nice and offered us mezcal when we left. He also plays great music in this place. Hopefully we will return.

This could be a great restaurant. Located just a few steps from the magnificent Roman Antique theatre this makes it an ideal location for a night at the Choregie. The food is good and use fresh and local ingredients. The service is unfortunately very slow and could be more attentive to the need of its customers.The team is very sweet but the wait between courses is unreasonably long (>15min) and at some point you feel you just have been forgotten and just want to leave…it would not take much for this place to get from just average to great…

Rounded up to 4 stars, but it’s only worth 3.5. A lovely setting with the Amphitheatre as a backdrop and good service. The tuna tataki was very good but the rest of the meal was disappointing. There was nothing special or inventive about either main course. We had pork with a chorizo sauce and veal with a black garlic sauce. Neither had much flavour - even the sauces were bland. This was our second visit but based on this meal, we won’t return as this restaurant doesn’t deliver on value for money.

We were there with a group of ten. All meals were fresh and tasty. Oncluding the meals for the kids. The service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended place for families and people who love good food. It’s not explicitly cheap. But the value for the price is still pretty attractive.

This is the best bar in Orange by a long way. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The staff were great and went out of their way especially as we were unable to speak French. The food was very good and in relation to the other establishments was very reasonbbly priced. Had a fantastic time there and would recommend it to anyone

Without doubt the Best restaurant for burgers in Orange..just round the corner from the Roman theatre .. a fantastic "cafe gourmand" for dessert is a must Try a picon beer here also its lovely stuff (something you will only get in France) and if you want wine they serve it by the "pichet"..a glass jug... and it's good quality After your meal you can play pool if youd like...a great restaurant for families and the staff are super friendly Jennifer the waitress speaks perfect English if your french is rusty

Wonderful service and delicious food. On arriving and explaining my gluten and dairy allergies, the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful, making what is normally a very anxiety inducing experience the complete opposite. All ingredients in the meals they suggested were checked with me first to make sure they were ok for me to eat and staff were incredibly flexible in changing ingredients to create a beautiful meal I could eat. My gluten eating partner also had the most delicious pizza! Thank you to the staff at festival cafe for a lovely dining experience!

We were here shortly before the kitchen closed (8:30pm) and were served very quickly. The pizza was very delicious. The service is very friendly and well organised. Overall a great experience and I would recommend a visit to this restaurant.

“We felt like being the worst people on the planet.” I typically reserve writing reviews for exceptionally good experiences; however, I find myself compelled to share a recent dining experience that was notably disappointing, not for the quality of food or the ambiance, but due to the service we received. The food was good, nothing amazing, there was nothing wrong with it. The place and its atmosphere are quite nice; the restaurant is carved into a rock. The interior is also well made. The music was also modern mainstream pop music with some jazzy variations. One can run an absolute gem restaurant in this setting. However, what really shook us and made me write this review was the rude behavior of a (the) waitress, perhaps the owner or another key employee of the place. We started by ordering a bottle of wine. It got slammed on our table, was not poured to taste it, nor poured in the glasses. We felt like we did something wrong, ordered the wrong wine, didn’t speak good enough French (but we still tried!) - no clue. It felt like road rage in the rush hour, leaving us completely baffled. Luckily, one of the kitchen personnel approached us and was very talkative, spoke English, German, flattered our home country, etc, clearly making an effort to make us feel comfortable. He literally went the extra mile: you would expect him to be busy enough in the kitchen. Bottom line: fix the waitress and you fix this place. Until then, go somewhere else to spend your precious (holiday) dinners.

The food is amazing the menu always changes they use fresh ingredients.... The chef speaks very good English and makes you feel very welcome.... I would eat here every night if i could. I have been to many restaurants in france on my travels and this is my favourite food and service.

La Cantina serves very good, high-quality food - I really liked the daily fish. It is also important to mention the special location in the cave, the ambience is pleasant especially in these hot summer days as it is quite cool. The owner is a friendly man and tries his best to meet the customers' needs. The service can be improved, it seemed that the team is too small, since we had to wait longer and ask several times for beverages.

Not good to be honest. €27 for a salad entree and beef gumbo (which was microwave reheated by the way) cold rice and vegetable sides. Wine was really the best thing I had there. Surprised by the average rating being so high. Definitely wouldn’t go back. Service was fine but not a saving grace unfortunately.

This is a Lovely little French / African restaurant. We had a vegan dish complete with everything, rice, beans, chickpeas, salad and grilled veggies. Soooo simple And satisfying. Friendly staff, nice location.

Stumbled upon this understated delight. Authentic Moroccan Couscous Lamb was absolutely amazing! The chef opened early for us when we were looking inside. We hadn’t found anything open for dinner. What a find.

Simple restaurant serving West-African cuisine. Paul, the owner is from Benin. He is a friendly and relaxed person. There is one vegetarian dish. When I ordered the dish, Paul said that no vegetables were available. When I said that I am vegetarian and have no other choice, Paul managed to put something together which was better than the standard vegetarian fare in any classical French restaurant.

On the outside this hotel does not reflect it’s quality: a real hidden gem. We had a small but adequate room with a very comfortable bed. The real surprise however was the meal which was simply outstanding! Very friendly service too.

Great family managed restaurant. Service was very friendly and attentive. Our lunch exceeded expectations. Burgers were cooked perfectly to each’s preference and loaded with toppings. Lunch special salad was a great mix of local items. It was a dead Sunday in town but this restaurant patio was full of locals no doubt here because the food is so good.

Had a great evening meal here. Great food, service and atmosphere. Arrived at 7:10 and we had the last table for 3 so I suggest you book. I had escargot, filet de Broone (white fish) and crème brûlée. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Friendly staff and delicious home cooked ..food try a picon beer here as well... we had the menu de chef which was very nice and at €26 for three courses.. the pichet of house wine is very good quality

The 5 stars are absolutely justified. The food was fantastic. The cuisine combines French and Italian food. My dish (you can see in the picture) was really tasty and seemed handmade "a la mama". A warm recommendation from my side is also the risotto with mushrooms. The nice and loveable waitress made our visit perfect. Would love to come back to this place one day.

Long time I was looking for eating Russian food and more specifically Pelmeni. I didn’t get disappointed! Nice service, the woman who has serve us was extremely kind. The pelmeni was delicious! And the atmosphere on point ! I recommend if you wants to discover traditional Slavic cooking.

Loved it! I needed some nutricioius warm food while in Orange on a dancing festival and came here 3 times for the soup and some pierogi. Kept me going for the whole night of dancing. I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the tea room Cocoon’Age in Orange, France. Lovely café with a focus on high-quality infusions and specialty coffee. We ordered two different lattes, both of which were absolutely delicious—smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. One of the nicest touches: while they don’t serve pastries themselves, the staff warmly encouraged us to pick up a few from the bakery next door and enjoy them on their beautiful terrace. A very thoughtful and customer-friendly gesture! The service was genuinely kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere on the terrace made for a perfect coffee break. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and appreciate great coffee and warm hospitality.

We were looking for a quick spot to enjoy a coffee, never did we thought we would enjoy our time so much stopping at cocoon'age. Not only there is a wide variety of coffee and tea, they are incredibly delicious. We were welcomed better than if it was our own home and had a great time taking with the owner. Overall an impressive experience for something as simple as a coffee , highly recommend.

We had a wonderful specialty tea here on a rainy afternoon. The tea was delicious, the setting warm and cozy, and the owner was so friendly and helpful, even giving us many suggestions of places we needed to see. Even the cat was very friendly.

Based on other reviews we had high expectations. The food was adequate, but nothing special. We started with the tomato salad served on focaccia. The tomatoes had very little flavour and the focaccia was dense and quite difficult to cut. We were unable to figure out what the brown sauce spread on the focaccia was as the flavours were so subdued. The fish was served with risotto that was devoid of flavour - so much so that I had to add salt to try and bring it back to life. Perhaps it was an off night for the kitchen but based on our experience this was a very ordinary meal and not a restaurant we would recommend.

The more casual little brother of a gastronomic powerhouse, it's a regional gem. We were lucky to have the owner's sweet niece serve us. She's a delight. The food is both regional and unexpected. Awesome wine list. Reasonably priced. And air conditioner inside on a hot evening.

Unbelievable. We asked for a table for three persons and immediately got a table. However 15 minutes later, after having ordered drinks already, the same person that gave us our table asked if we had a reservation. We said no, but no one asked us for a reservation when we entered the restaurant. The waiter as well as the owner of the restaurant (I guess) became very unfriendly. At no moment did they realize that they had made a mistake by not asking if we had a reservation. They asked us to leave immediately in a very rude way because people who had made a reservation entered the restaurant. Not going back to this place.

Very nice atmosphere even if the space inside is quite small. Child friendly, willing to prepare meal especially for autistic child that is a picky eater. Need to book in advance in high season. The meals & drinks are really delicious.

We had lunch here with my girlfriend, my in-laws and our 9 Month old baby. The restaurant is located at a nice square and have lots of tables inside and outside. First we went inside but switched tables when one table on the terrace became free. I had the beef skewer which was delicious and very affordable (€15,50). My mother in law had a cesar salad, which was quite large and had plenty of chicken, cheese and croutons. The others had a chicken skewer. All the food was really tasty and was well worth your money. We parked near the Arc de Triomphe which is only 8 minutes walking away from the restaurant. Near the restaurant you can find, on walking distance, the Cathedrale Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomph and the Roman theater.

As expected for the main restaurant square. OK pizza and salad for lunch. Nothing spectacular, outstanding or negative - just plain middle of the road. Had the pizza carnivore- which was OK, salad chèvre chaud look good.

Nice Restaurant for a quick lunch. Meals are of good quality, service was however on the slow side.

Because the only other restaurant at this Place de la Republique in lovely Orange during summer festival season had closed its kitchen, we choose ‘the other side’ Pigalle which didn’t look much inviting because of the use of TL-light (We already called the 80’s to get those back). The friendly and hardworking staff spoke as good English as my French, so that was really helpfull. Having said that; it’s what’s on the menu that counts. We both fell for the lasagna, but it didn’t quite fell for us. This pasta dish had been made mainly from lasagna sheets and minced meat and drenched in oil. This made the taste bland which couldn’t be saved by some extra salt. We did use the oil to sweeten the rock hard additional bread. The stars are for dessert which was crème brulee, more than plenty for two people and tasted fine.

We ordered salads for ourselves and the children’s menu for our little girl. The waitress was nice and when ordered the food came quickly. However after main we felt a bit forgotten. And our girl had an ice cream included in her menu but we had to wait for this for like 30 and remind them again about it before we got it. Hence the low rating for the service

Mmmmm Hmmmm that was a tasty burger. Tres tres bon indeed! English speaking good service and very reasonable price for the quality. So good i ordered twice! 😉. Update From 5 stars to 1. Visited a 2nd time and ordered 3 burgers between us. We waited 1hr 10mins to watch the table opposite who had been waiting an hour get 4 burgers before us. We we're so outraged we left. Very very disappointing. It is completely unacceptable to make customers wait that long.

Best burger in town !

It was the most rude and tourist-hostile thing I have ever experienced! When we arrived, the owner came straight up to us and asked what we wanted. We tried to communicate with him in English, as the website advertises that they can speak English. However, we were answered in French, but also in an incredibly unfriendly tone. When we then tried to speak French, we were sent away with the first excuse that he "didn't have room for us" (he didn't even know how many of us there were), even though most of the store was empty. To summarize: We were less than 3 minutes in the restaurant, the owner already came running as if we were about to set fire to his grotto, didn't even exchange 2 sentences with us until he shooed us away in the most unfriendly tone and with hand movements, as if we were the plague. Edit: I really wanted to go there and finally got the others to go there to, drove a long way because off the risottos(food), the good reviews and the nice pictures they had online. I was really exited and made pictures of the restaurant and we received that kind of treatment. And if you see the answer from the owner: I never threatened someone with a bad review, I had the idea to share my experience a day later and I also was totally calm when we went into that restaurant and calm when we walked out. We never had interest into the theater, just your food. This place was very nice. The atmosphere was really nice with the ceiling being old roman stonework from the theatre in which it's located. The servers were very kind and our food was excellent. It wasn't as expensive as we thought it was going to be. The red wine was excellent and also was surprisingly inexpensive. You're also allowed to write on the walls so we were able to leave our mark for years to come. The restaurant doesn't open until 7pm. We got there at 7 and we were able to get in and order our food before the big rush of people afterwards.

What a treat to the senses when you eat inside a UNESCO classified grotte (cave) that is directly attached to the ancient Roman site of Aurosio (old Roman settlement for the city now called Orange). It is literally next to the old Temple and Théatre Antique d’Orange. Their Fish Filet with truffle risotto and Squid ink linguine with Gambas in orange reduction sauce were a delight. Their wine selection is good. Take a date there or simply enjoy a date with history.

Fabulous dinner at this small, 10 table restaurant. The food was really very good, but the service really really let’s the place down- it’s honestly the worst service we’ve experienced in a long time. Very hostile and negative from the outset- to the point that we had reserved a table and the head of service informed us immediately on arrival and confirmation of our booking with our 5 year old that she could not feed our child (she assumed we wanted a child’s menu; we did not, our child has a very broad palette). It took an age to actually serve us, glasses for our wine were forgotten, eye contact was repeatedly avoided, when ordering we were rudely and abruptly interrupted mid order if dishes were unavailable almost as if it were an affront to tru to order it! 🙈 Genuinely perplexed. It’s a shame as the other lady serving was pleasant and the food really good but we cannot recommend based on the very negative and uncompromising attitude of the head of service there which despite best efforts left a bad taste in the mouth.

Absolutely awful, lived here for 25yrs and have always put back into the community of here and surrounding towns and villages... so thought as a good gesture never been here so will try....what a mistake... lovely server ( poor sod ) so starter arrived at same time as main crêpe.. no room on table ( plus we wasn't catching a bus !!!)so put on next table ekk flys and sun.🫣and served..3 mouth full in a couple of black hairs OMG...OK no way so said pay all apart this hairy crêpe €12 , no sorry Absolutely nothing ..then the water arrived that should of arrived at beginning of this very bad experience, so left money (cash) on table as still waiting to pay ... and left , went to take a drink as thirsty in this heat and the boss from this restaurant well Establishment of I really don't know.... started kicking off shouting and bawling like a fish wife 🤔..so all you fancy a proper crepes you really need to go to Ambassadeur de Bretange Le Pontet Brilliant no nasty and totally get your moneys worth ...or take a chance at banana fraise shampoo

The galettes were bad; no tase and the gallete itself was hard. We hardly ate anything of it but did not get any compensation at all when we complained.

I’ve been recently and I really enjoy the place. I went with my little boy and my wife, we really enjoy the food,l and the service was impeccable. Recommended if you are around

Had a very nice raclette burger. I ended up sharing this with hubby as it was too big for me. Good fries and salad served along side it. Hubby had the Smokey Fondue appetizer and it was a dish that looked good on paper but not so much in reality. Croutons for dipping (pan too shallow to actually dip) were way overly toasted. Staff were nice and efficient. The restaurant is pleasant and clean. Handy access for travelers right off the highway.

Terrible service and even worse food, yet priced like a good French bistrot. The café gourmand was the worst I've ever seen...by far: two-thirds of a cup cake split in two and not yet fully defrosted, half a chocolate chip cookie and a ramekin of panna cotta (8€). On the positive side: they put 4cl in my Irish coffee rather than their usual 2cl! (8€). I should have taken a photo, but I only thought of that when the shock and tid-bits had disappeared.
