Very good cosy local restaurant. We visited on a Saturday so no menu du jour so we chose from the a la carte. Lovely good, freshly created and well presented. Service was welcoming and friendly. We will try soon on a weekday. Recommended.

Great vibe in a narrow alley. The wine was superb and the food, the salmon fillet, was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. You also get free nuts and bread while waiting on your order.

Lovely meal. Large portion of foie gras and then really well cooked moist cod.

Had a wonderful king prawn risotto ( 22 euro ) in a seafood sauce and a cheese crisp with fresh bread to dip. A little more expensive than the other restaurants but well worth the extra. In a lovely cobbled street just below Château de Foix.

Great restaurant. Two choice for a daily lunch menu (plat du jour). Very nice and friendly personel. Price are good (12€ plat+dessert+coffee or entree+plat+coffee, 14€ for complete menu). Restaurant is little bit darker but very nice, simple but esthetic design inside. They can speak english.

The prices are far to high for what it s offered and for the location. Tried disehes: _The egg with truflle was soaked in a hyper salty mushroom sauce with an un_inspiring colour. _The foie gras was below expectation _The Cot de bouf flambe with cognac was an hard tastless cut with giant chunka of mushy potatos _The fish dish was ok and came with venere rice armotised with mushrom (didn't fit) _The fruit salat with ice cream was a big colorful mess that would win a price in las vegas 1st and last time

Helpful staff, the food is okay - nothing bad to say about it. I had this snail dish- sort of a snails in a packet. it was good if they hadn't added the frozen snails - they were extremely chewy and near frozen. I like escargot in general, but prefer to have them not frozen and cooked so they are tender. We had a steak flambé- fun- but I do not think I like the way I have entrecôte for the most part and shouldn't have ordered it. It seems to be a steak that has a lot of toughness to it in France.

A good restaurant with outdoor seating. Does a variety of dishes from pizza, pasta, mussels and steaks and also some lovely deserts. I couldn’t fault the food it was delicious. The male waiter with the long hair who served us originally was very helpful recommending dishes, however when it came to the female waitress who took our dessert order it was a different matter, we had to wait 40 minutes to get them even though others were getting their deserts 10 minutes after ordering. Hence I knocked off 1 star for this. The owner seemed a nice guy and was helping with the serving.

Restaurant has a great street terrace, food is unfussy and tasty, good service.

Had a fantastic time staying in this beautiful BnB/Restaurant close to the town of Foix. Leela, Theirry and Sitar were amazing hosts and Thierry is an incredible chef, so the food in the restaurant was a highlight of the day. Beautiful surroundings as well! It was our first night in Foix, driving up from Barcelona for a long weekend, and our host recommended this restaurant. With just 2 staff, they took care of a buys restaurant inside and the table outside, where we were with our dog. Friendly and jolly, it is Italianesque cuisine. They have a set dinner for 20€ which was quite nice, a huge main course. Recommendable.

We stopped here for a lunch menu while on holiday near Foix. The staff are very nice, and have tables in the shade outside inside seemed less comfortable, a bit airless. It takes time, but the food is homemade and authentic, and was fine.

We went here yesterday for my birthday. As a vegan I noticed that they promise vegan options so that plus the promise of exotic flavours enticed us to go. What a let down. The food was very oily, insipid, and tasted like the lentils had been reheated several times. For my plat végétarien " gourmand" I got a big portion of white rice, chips which were burnt and undercooked, chips in a gourmand dish!!! There were a couple of spoonfuls of watery pulses a small portion of oily and stale tasting veg. Disgusting really. The entrée was partly cooked aubergine drowned in oil with mint , frozen most likely. My partner who is not vegan took the fish dish, he believes it was a piece of defrosted flavourless fish. No dessert for me, his cake looked like omelette. Of course we will not be back.

While the food quality ranged from decent to good, the portion sizes left much to be desired, especially considering the steep prices. What's more, I was taken aback by the unexpected additional charges hidden within the menu, which meant extra vigilance was required to avoid overspending. Overall, while the food was satisfactory, the overpricing and lack of transparency regarding charges detracted significantly from the overall dining experience.

Staff were welcoming. The restaurant's quite nice inside. The food was delicately flavoured. Tasty enough, but not as spiced as Iranian food I've eaten elsewhere, so I'd guess it's been made more palatable to French tastes. None of the breads or meats that I'd anticipated. And smaller portions than you might expect from an Iranian restaurant. It was actually ok, it just lacked oomph. Make the flavours more intense, expand the menu a bit, we'll be back.

We had lunch at La Perlotte du Pheobus and it was excellent value for money! Attentive and friendly service, delicious wine and the food was outstanding! Fabulous flavour combinations, cooked to perfection! What more could you ask for! I can’t thank you enough for bringing real quality food to Foix! My father in law said “it’s the best food I’ve eaten in France”. My mother in law said “we have found our place”. I obviously agree so we will be back soon.

We were having lunch with old friends who had returned for a visit to the Ariege and wanted a special birthday dining experience. We were not disappointed. We were shown to one of the best tables, the corner one with two window views which are spectacular. Julie was very kind to come to our table and do extensive translation of the menu for those of us who had trouble with the French. The waiter was very attentive about pulling the blind when the sun was intrusive. All of us were very happy with our meals except one who mentioned that he had never had lamb so overcooked. Then we thought back to the waiter taking our orders and realized that he was not asked how he wanted his lamb cooked. Another of our party was asked about his steak and it came a bit undercooked. But we think that might have been because of our lack of adequate French. I have never had a more deliciously prepared merlu and the accompanying ravioli were wonderful. The three of us who had desserts were extremely pleased, after two mix-ups. One of us received the wrong dessert (which he ate in the place of the one that never arrived which he had ordered) and another of our party was able to exchange the wrong dessert for the one she had ordered. Still, all three were thoroughly delicious and much appreciated. My husband would add one suggestion for the safety of your future patrons. He almost fell going up the little flight of steps that start at the service level and lead to the entrance level. It would be very useful to have a handrail to help those less limber to go up and down those steps. Thank you for making our reunion a very happy one.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal at Phoebus. The service was great and the restaurant accommodated my wife who is vegetarian without any issues. The food was delicious and great value. We would thoroughly recommend a visit :-)

We had the privilege of privatizing La Perlotte du Phoebus in Foix for a special dinner during our wedding weekend—and it was truly magical. Nestled right by the Ariège river, the restaurant features large bay windows with unobstructed views of the imposing Château de Gaston Phoebus. At night, when the castle is illuminated, the setting becomes truly enchanting. We and our guests enjoyed the curated three-course menu. What stood out most was the staff’s flexibility, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Even across a language barrier (we don’t speak French), they worked closely with us to plan the menu, set up the tables exactly how we wanted, and ensure guests were comfortable. Their responsiveness and willingness to adapt made the evening flow seamlessly. We were grateful to have a beautiful, private space to host wedding events, and La Perlotte helped turn that evening into one of the highlights of our celebration.

Delicious and lunch is not expensive for what you get. Highly recommended.

Lovely presentation and good service, but the food was disappointing especially after reading all the wonderful reviews. Starters were nice, though not the tastiest salmon, but the poultry and fish dish lacked flavour, I felt the chef was trying too hard and the food lost its essence. Chocolate sorbet was great, the caramel sauce on the crepe rather overdone and slightly unpleasant. Overall not bad but disappointing in comparison to other more basic options had in Foix, hence 3 stars.

It should have a captive audience yet the repeated poor service and cold food mean the extra 15mins to the newly opened venue in Tarrascon is worth it for better service. Tables are dirty, you have ash trays next to the tables, apple pie is not as per mcdonalds standards, there are flies inside the restaurant, coke cup is a normal kitchen cup that I have never seen in any mcdonalds in the world... Please close this branch, they are ruining the brand.

After a long day of driving through France's countryside, we stopped here for dinner. We received the best service we saw on our 9 day trip from one of their bartenders (their tallest bartender). He patiently recommended local wine and dishes to try. A dish we tried was snail from a local river. With the bar hopping, he made time to personally bring the dish to our table to show us how to remove the snail from the shell. He also mentioned he would swap it for another dish if we didn't like it, which we loved it! I had the chocolate cake with pralines and coconut whipped cream which was lightly warmed before served. The starter was a small slice of quiche with a salad leave, and it costed 8 euros lol. Then one of the main dishes was ok on size, taste was exquisite; while the other one was a joke, since it was called XL soup, but was super small and i had to go for a kebab for some more food. There re way better options on this street.

She promptly told us to vacate the outside table and move to a table inside the very hot restaurant. We said that we preferred the outside table as we had our small dog with us and the restaurant was sweltering in the 30+ degrees temperatures. She insisted that we move inside or leave. (I would have preferred to leave but it was lunchtime and we were hungry so we moved indoors). We ordered "marinated chicken and frites" with a glass of wine. The wine was served quickly. Then we watched all other patrons served over a 50 minute period without our meal appearing.
