Where to eat: the 22 best restaurants in Canillo

Upon a recommendation of a host at our hotel we decide to dine here while visiting Andorra. I must say that we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was friendly and the food was nothing short of amazing. As a family of 5 we all tried something different and we all truly enjoyed each of our meals. Be sure to bring your appetite as the portions are more than generous. Lets just say that you will not leave hungry. As shown in the images both the burger and the duck are very generous portions. Even the deserts were a force to be reconned with. Thank you to this establishment and staff for a truly wonderful dining experience. Should we come back this way again we will make it a point to visit again(with our appetites ready to go)

Loved this restaurant. At first it took me a little until I found parking but after 15 mins I was able to. The servers were super nice. The food was good. The ambience very nice. There were a lot of flies that they should do something about . The rest super!

La Sangria served up a heartwarming and soul-nourishing meal that I can only pine for and wish to return soon again for another meal. First off, please do yourself a service and order the Camembert paired with honey, walnuts and berries which was absolutely heavenly. The tuna tar tar with mango with a unique sauce was equally mind blowing and definitely whet our appetites during our meal. Apart from that, we ordered the meat platter of variety for 2 pax which us asians shared between 4. The portion which included lamb, beef, sausages and chicken was huge and we could barely finish but every bite was relished. The meat platter also came with four generous portions of sauces that enhanced the flavours of the smoked meats and each one was equally savoured. Definitely going to return when visiting Andorra. Make a booking if you can as the place does fill up quickly!

A steak/grill house with a warm atmosphere and great view. Nestled a bit off the beaten track we popped in for lunch. Delicious lamb chops, a perfectly prepared Dorado - only to be upstaged by decadent dessert.

Love this place! I’ve been coming here for a long time—at least 15 years—and it never disappoints. Today I came with my brother in law from the USA. Today we were served by Lucie (I hope I spelled that right!), a lovely French server who was incredibly friendly and attentive. We already knew what we wanted: started with the burrata salad, INSANELY tasty, so much so that we ordered it twice. We just couldn’t help ourselves. For mains, we had the beef steak bavette and the mountain sausage (butifarra), both served with veggies, potatoes, alioli, and Roquefort cheese sauce. Honestly, words can’t do these meats justice. You have to come and try them for yourself. Even though I was full, I asked Lucie if she had any recommendations for a local dessert. She suggested the chocolate coulant. I didn’t go for it right away and ordered something else… but it wasn’t what I was expecting, so I ended up getting the coulant like she first recommended. HOLY MOLY—served warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce… she was absolutely right. Unreal. If there were 6 stars, this place would deserve them. Forever a favorite. We reeeeally enjoyed the time here, THANK YOU. My brother in law was amazed with your spot and quality of your food.

Incredible meat restaurant and probably one of the best steak houses that I've ever been. The food was delicious, the variety pretty rich , the portions relatively big and the prices correspond with the quality. The staff could be friendlier though. We clearly felt a different attitude towards us compared to tables with bigger groups therefore higher bills. Regardless, very good experience overall!

Unfortunately, all 3 of us had to send the meat back. Something I never did before. The meat was inedible. The waiter did not comment but simply said „ok“, as if its the most normal thing in this restaurant. We only paid for the drinks, after I asked the waiter to remove the plates from the bill.

I really have no idea why it is rated to 3.6. Most probably there always have to be some complainers around. The food was great, the meals were big and tasty. Everything made in front of you on open fire. Service was polite and helpful.

We had an amazing time here! Bruno was our waiter and he was great! The ambiance in the upstairs terrace is really nice and offers a beautiful view of the mountains. The paella and carpaccio were delicious. I strongly recommend it.

We had an amazing and super tasty paella, very nice and warm family atmosphere. We were a bit worried when we saw the not so great reviews, but we had such a great time :) anyways, we really recommend, especially the paella!

We went there for a dinner, we really enjoyed our time and food :) Burgers where perfect, service was top-notch! We also got to take a taste of their Peach 🍑 liqueur - which was really good. Will recommend :)

Fast food done very well for a reasonable price. We had two different chicken entrées from here which were both delicious and various sides which were great. We even went back a second night because it’s a little difficult to find food later at night in this area but this restaurant is open fairly late. Recommended.

A big sign at the door to not enter and wait for someone to let you in. We had a reservation (mandatory, even though the place is 80% empty). We waited for 10 minutes. No one came to let us in. We left.

This place is amazing they havegreat artsanall beers and the stuff is always very welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely go back to it and Florencia was an amazing waitress that helped me to find my favourite beer.

We have been coming here for 5 years. This is our favorite spot in canillo. The bar’s layout has been updated 3 times. You feel the love the owners pour into it. The food is great. The milanesa was so big like in Argentina - I had the second half of it the next day for lunch on the mountain. :D the beeramisu is to die for. It’s hard to find a place where both the beers and the foods are great, Blót certainly got you covered. I booked our table online and when we got home, we got a survey about how was our time. I have sent the feedback about how happy we are with the upgrades and how we followed their growth over the years. Apparently the owners saw the feedback and answered me in a few minutes that if we come back that week, let them know as there will be a gift. And there was, they did not forget! For our loyalty we were rewarded with 4 cans of beers (very yummy ones) and 6 glasses with Blót logos on them! 2 glasses are in the UK now, one in Denmark and 3 in Barcelona as a memento of our amazing time there. Thank you for your hospitality, great work and pure kindness. This gesture will stay with us as a heartwarming experience for years to come.

Good Argentinian restaurant. Pros: the place is nice, they have a fireplace, service is good, taste well, petfriendly and vegan options. Cons: you need a reservation if not you will never get in, the waitress missed one of the three plates in the order and there is no parking.

The food was amazing. We went to Mirador for the view and stopped by this restaurant to get something to eat. Everything was exceptional and the service was pretty good. They don't know English that well but they were friendly enough to help us with selection. They even insisted we try traditional catalnian dish free of charge. This is a must if you like cozy atmosphere and really good food.

The owners are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, the food delicious. Our group enjoyed lamb chops, onion soup, carpaccio, escudella, tart tatin and a brownie. Everything was flavourful and well prepared. Do make a stop after you’ve enjoyed a nice hike on Coll d’Ordino!

I’m recommend this restaurant 100%. The best beef tartar that I ever tried. I love it and came back twice for them. Chef recommend to try grilled Camembert with black pepper – it was amazing recommendation. In the now I’ll eat Camembert only with black pepper. Very nice place. We were twice, in the first time I ordered: Veal steak, Foie Gras and tartar (unfortunately I don’t have photo). I like it.

Wow. Absolutely amazing. Best food we have had in many weeks. Mushroom soup that looks like a cappuccino (doesn’t taste like it of course!) and duck/apple puff pastry to die for. Wines by the glass are superb and meat quality is excellent. Everything cooked to perfection. A+ on all aspects.

This was the best meal we had on our trip to four countries in Europe. The whole staff was amazing, the meal, atmosphere and dessert were perfection. We will definitely be back when we visit Andorra.

I would say the best restaurant near Canillo! They try to look like a good French restaurant, however, a few things are still missing, especially in the service. In contrary, compare to other restaurants nearby, the service is really good. Prices are correct. Good coffee.

Beatiful place, great food, so welcoming service, we totally enjoyed everything. I highly recommend to try mountain rice, it's something completely spectacular! Very nice and attentive team, helped with vine selection, and everyone was so positive and polite. Also, the courtesy drink in the end was so nice touch; after a hot day some limoncella with ice was exactly what we needed. Recommended!

Great food and drinks. If you're looking for a great place to eat, try this place. I had the gazpacho soup, sauteed vegetables and a steak. Everything was delicious and well prepared. Staff is friendly, prices are fair and dress is casual.

Room was tight on Saturday night but they found us a table. It was a busy n8ght. Still, the service was exceptionally friendly and fast. Their specialty is paella, which my companions tried. It is indeed very good, even by Valencian standards. I had anchovies. They came on a bed of grated tomatoes with olive oil that could have easily stood on its own as a knockout appetizer. A cazuela with rabbit was also excellent. They were out of Priorat but a Rioja red worked well instead.

Amazing Restaurant, we visited twice and would love to come back. Probably the best paella we have ever had. Big portions, very tasteful and full of various seafood. Also calamares were delicious. Professional staff, speaking spanish (mosty), but also french and english. Good prices, better to have reservation but we didnt have and came twice on opening and there were free spaces. Okay rice, but a really bad experience with the service I went to this rice restaurant in Andorra with some friends. The rice itself was decent, no real complaints there, but the whole dinner was soured by a really disappointing experience with the service. The menu said the rice dishes were “minimum two people,” and it also mentioned “half portions,” so since there were four of us, we ordered two different rice dishes to share. In English, that’s all it said. But apparently in Catalan, it stated that the price was per person: which none of us spoke or understood. The waiters never clarified this either. When the bill came, it was way more than we expected. We brought it up, and they basically told us it was our fault for not asking. Sorry, but that’s not how this should work. It’s their job to explain that, especially when it’s clear the customers don’t speak the local language. They’re supposed to be the experts representing the restaurant. Honestly, it felt like they took advantage of the fact that we were foreigners. So here’s my warning: if you go, make sure you explicitly ask how much each rice dish costs and whether it’s priced per person or per portion… because they won’t tell you unless you ask. It’s a shame, because the food itself had potential.

Surprised this place had only 3.8 stars when visiting! Really tasty food and amazing service and a chill atmosphere - especially after all the hills. Plenty of room and very cozy and cute interior. We were a family of 8 felt really taken care of :) highly recommend!

After reading the above reviews after we sat down at the restaurant, here is my review. The waiter is a man of few words, but still a very good waiter. It’s run by a Portuguese family and we had the bread which I would agree they could do with changing the type of bread. However, it was still nice tomato on bread starter . My partner had the chicken croquettes, which were lovely and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the in with some gorgeous Alioli . The chicken covered in mushroom sauce was lovely and my partner had the rabbit which she said was absolutely cooked to perfection and we shared a plate of chips in the middle which were gorgeous . I asked the said waiter to pick my wine and it was lovely. So on the whole, I was very very happy and so was my partner.

The positives: cozy, well decorated farm house style restaurant with delicious desserts (fresh cream with crispy puff pastry). The negatives: the waiter is very unpleasant, felt like he was making us a favor to take the order and give us the food. We had to order everything together (starters and main course) because it was “easier” for the kitchen. The pan con tomate (bread with tomatoes) was not enjoyable, the bread was the cheapest white bread toasted once, but served already humid and soft. The rest of the food was average, overpriced for the quality.

Four of us had food poisoning after eating a burger here few days back 🤮 Ate a little after 3pm, maybe the furnace was cold already so the meat couldnt cook enough... 🤷‍♂️

We have just enjoyed a delicious meal at the restaurant we visited 2 years ago. We were so relieved to see that the service and the food was as good as ever. Despite it being very busy on a rainy day, we were welcomed seated and attended to quickly. The entrecot was fabulous as was the pâté and trout. So pleased we returned to this gem if a restaurant.

Good restaurant. The place is a bit noisy when it is full which happens very often during high season, and cramped. The owner, who is a Frenchman from Lorient, in Bretagne, has managed the place for the last 22 years. The Raclette and the Fondue are the house specialties. The raclette is served with boiled big potatoes (I prefer the small potatoes instead) and a plate of pork cold cuts. If you do not eat pork it is a bummer. Pricewise it is reasonable for a Ski resort place.

Avoid at all cost! We joined dinner with a group as guest of the hotel. Paid 52€ for food I would not even serve my dog. Very basic choices between 2 dishes starter and main, very small portions and even too basic to cook at home. Gnocchi with pesto and a small piece of pork with carrot mashed potato. Not even sides or vegetables, Nothing more. You can visit any restaurant in the neighbourhood and have a good 3 course meal and wine for this budget. Which I recommend, and will do for the rest of our stay… also server was rude and unpleasant. Avoid!

The dinner buffet was the saddest buffet I have experienced, food was old and cold, only a few options and very low quality. The "warm" food for breakfast was again completely cold, as an eggs, bacon, sausages etc. The rest also very bad quality. Not enjoyable at all and very sad experience.

We were worried as we are vegetarian but the food for everyone was fantastic. The service was great. We took half board option and I’m so glad we did. The breakfast was excellent.

Amazing location with basic but tasty food. Unfortunately the service is horrible. The females in the Xiringuito are rude, unprofessional and dismissive. Their interactions with us felt insincere, as if we were an inconvenience. They gossiped loudly about tables in a way that everyone could hear and just generally made the atmosphere uncomfortable and awkward.

Exquisite place - both for food and views. A great spot to visit for the amazing dishes they do. The view is definitely worth it too. Would recommend this to families, couples and everyone in between. I tasted the veg soup, pork stew, shrimp croquettes, apple pie and coffee. Everything was divine.

Add to all of this the exceptional service Bruno the bartender has to offer with a great smile. The menu was not extensive, but the burger was top notch.

We came just 20 minutes before the closing and we were very starving, Fausto and Leandro accepted us nicely. Very chill and nice people. The burgers were amazing (the big brothers burger is very massive) and came quick. I recommend it was a very nice experience.

Excellent Burger, super friendly staff! Went there three days in a row (initially cause it was one of the few places open in June low season, but then because it was just so damn tasty). Appreciate the no-BS menu, just a couple of burgers, fries and a few drinks plus some ice cream for desert. We tried a total of 5 different burgers, all excellent. Highly recommend!

I'm quite shocked to see how low the reviews are for this place. We happened to be in Canillo at lunchtime and we have it a shot. Both entrees were great and the portions very generous. I had butifarra as a main dish, which I couldn't complain about, and my wife had grilled rabbit, which turned out to be awesome. The price was actually a bit high because drinks are not included in the menu. The service was good, but we were the first ones to sit down.

The opinions of this restaurant are too low. If you want a bar-restaurant of "tapas" and sandwiches with correct quality, large quantity and very cheap, this is your choice. The service is very nice and fast. It's highlights that they have 24 different beers!

We had a cold buffett food there, as the kitchen was closed. 2 dishes out of 4 we could not eat at all - the smell was not good. Our little toddlers usually eat anything. Even though they were hungry, they both refused. The bill was extortionate. We had a chance to compare with another restaurants in Andorra, where we had delicious food and paid less. Sadly this one was a mistake for us... We will definitely not be back.

Le pain en deux façon était sec et dur… Le service était moyen même on avait l’impression que le serveur mettait du sien, c’était comme si les règles lui avaient été imposées et que les étaient plus importantes que la satisfaction client. Pour ces raisons nous sommes partis sans prendre de dessert afin de ne pas attendre plus longtemps. Bref, malgré une bonne surprise pour l’entrée le reste est une déception. Toute proportion gardée, peut être que ceux qui n’ont pas l’habitude de ces plats pourront passer un bon moment tout de même.

She advised us well and answer every questions with the big genuine smile. Got a chicken quesadilla, it comes served as 2 mediums, and we got some chicken tacos… big portions and really tasty food. Missed it the last time we passed by since it was closed at 4pm (must’ve been a special day). But made a point to go back to try it, and it didn’t not disappoint at all. Great decor inside, they have many different outside seating areas, a nice bar with a stage for live music outside, with a lounge on the side. The plus for the kids, or adults still young at heart, they have big plastic (maybe not plastic) animals, dinosaurs, gorillas, horse, etc, etc…fun to walk around they area and take pictures. I will definitely go back if I go back to Andorre.

I had some pulled beef sandwich and as it has the same price as pulled pork it should have been a warning message for me. From the ambient you think you will get some nice American BBQ style food. I couldn't taste any smoke on the meat. Regarding service you have to order at the food counter and pick it up when ready there. Don't get me wrong, but for the price it was okay.
