We had lunch and ordered a mountain high pizza pie, a Greek salad and a soup of the day. The anchovies added to the mountain high pizza pie make the pizza very salty, so I recommend leaving them on the side. Overall the pizza was pretty tasty. Additionally, they initially messed up our Greek salad order, however, were very apologetic and quickly replaced the salad! The service was great. The Greek salad on the other hand, is quite Americanized and is not very authentically “Greek”. Lastly, the soup of the day was bean heavy, but pretty good. Their bathrooms are also very clean. Overall the food is pretty good, but leans on the salty side. Definitely a nice spot for lunch!

They had live music which was fun. We sat outside and had Main Street gossip pizza (see picture of menu for description) and veggie pizza. The pizza was amazing, the crust light and crisp. We also had sourdough cheese bread. Delicious!

We had a beautiful day to sit outside on the patio and have a late lunch! Our tour bus driver recommended this and another place and the food was outstanding! Cooked hot and fresh to order, we had to wait just a bit but it was well worth it!

Great pizza in a quaint little town. As soon as you walk in you smell the wonderful pizza flavors. We went for dinner while on vacation and ordered a pizza. They also have sandwiches, soups & a few desserts that all looked fabulous, we were watching them go to other tables. It took about 10-15 mins for our pizza to arrive & we were not disappointed. It was fantastic!!

We got the Gyro pizza and it was very dry. The crust was very thin and our pizza sat for 5 mins on the counter before they brought it to us. No one in line when we got there. Disappointed that the ranch cost $3 for a tiny cup. Over priced and barely any meat on the pizza. The register lady was very nice and the place has a nice atmosphere. Might go back again to try the flat bread.

It is THE place to eat when in Talkeetna, especially if you are looking for some vegetarian option. They have salads and pizza, and a great vibe! We tried the veggie pizza and it was amazing! Hot, crispy and perfect for our taste.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza. The dough was scrumptious (the only thing I like); the topping was a bit greasy and salty. The server was friendly and it seemed she was the only server the entire time we were there last night around 7:00. Considering the remote location, I suppose the items in the menu are reasonably priced.

The food here was on point. It’s everything else that fell short. After ordering we seated ourselves and didn’t wait long for the food. Many of the sandwiches are premade. . The drink took so long we could have been done with our food. Which one person in the group was. Finally the drip coffee and latte came. These came without utensils. Once you finish eating you take your food away to a clean up station. It was located in the corner of the room. It was here we also find utensils, water, cups, etc of the things you may want during a meal. Why on earth would some tip if it’s self serve, poor service for what you do, and leaving out basic information to people who don’t regular your shop. Also, I know places are using water saving faucets but when I came even wash my hands without having the other on the faucet, something is wrong. That’s not sanitary. Again the food was good but everything else fell short. I’d have taken the food to go if I had known. .

Great spot tucked back in the woods right off the Talkeetna Spur Road. Amazing food, Great service and Wonderful atmosphere! Had breakfast here, watched the bread being made. They have artwork from local artists displayed around the cafe.

Want to try some yum breakfast in Talkeetna? Flying Squirrel is definitely your place! Their Focaccia bread is delicious and avocado toast with micro herbs, healthy and yum! Do try their hot chocolate and pie, just worth it! Best food to start your day! Do try and enjoy!

The espresso drinks were good, the scone was just okay, the oatmeal and breakfast sandwich were quite good. Service was meh. But, the place is real cute inside, definitely very comfortable, about 10 tables. We spent a good hour here and it would seem customer influx comes in waves. When we came in there were only a couple people here, but while we waited for our drinks, all of a sudden there was a line out the door.

Rhubarb-aid is so tasty! Bakery treats Are always great! Food is a bit pricy but good quality!

Such an adorable place! And many of the ingredients are organic, local, and homemade! We have the hot cereal and grilled cheese! I only wish the cheese was more gooey for the grilled cheese. All the little Bakery items and treats were very good! We just also wished they heated up the Bakery items. Overall very yummy and the Alaska Chai is a must try!

Cozy place right off the road to Talkeetna.. the owner was super friendly and loved their coffee and brownie ! Also ordered a Pizza. Highly recommend !

Undoubtedly the best Spinach bread and Rhubarb pie I’ve had! Absolutely delicious and out of the world! Warm, fresh spinach bread and the pie is perfect with cream on top! Some lemonade to go with it! Definitely worth it! Do try and enjoy!

This review is from the Alaska State Fair in Palmer Alaska 2025. I love this bread typically but honestly this had too much garlic on it and was a little under cooked for me. They cook this bread on a big pan and then just cut it so your plate might be a little smaller or bigger, which isn’t a big deal because it’s really good. My daughter’s bread was cooked a little longer and tasted better than mine and she bought hers after mine. I still recommend this bread no matter.

Delicious! The rhubarb crisp is good too. They have a few small tables to eat at, parking can be questionable. Cash Only as well so come prepared!! Staff is very friendly and while there is a line, they move pretty fast FYI the mint tea is just normal mint tea but for $5

Everything you may have read about this place is true…provided you read 5 stars. The spinach bread is SO GOOD! This is an airstream trailer with picnic tables. The vibe is old-fashioned Talkeetna. So much fun. We’ll be back because the menu changes daily. And I want more spinach bread.

Amazing spinach bread. If you love garlic, you will be in heaven (if you don’t, I can’t relate to you). Served fresh and hot out of the oven in about 5 minutes. The limeaid sounded good but did t need the extra calories today. Note they are cash only.

Spinach bread is decadent warm and a crunchy bread with delicious cheese topping. Rhubarb crisp is also good. Cloud burrito is not up to the expectation but still good.

We went, we saw, we ate the bread! The spinach bread was delicious and the limeade was tasty. My husband said his coffee was very good. Sitting outside, smelling all the smells, and eating was delightful. Pay attention when you go to Talkeetna as there are several shops closed on certain days.

This is a great spot for lunch or dinner. The food was excellent—I especially enjoyed the seafood gumbo, packed with salmon, halibut, scallops, reindeer sausage, and rice, all topped with a puff pastry square. It had a wonderful New Orleans–style flavor. My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was delicious as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

This is just a real nice casual restaurant in town here. I think our server was Helen. She’s the one that makes the homemade sangria. She was really friendly and just nice as could be. The other server was really interesting, kind of loud but in an entertaining way. The food was well prepared and very fresh. Just a solid meal out in the middle of nowhere. If the prices seem a little high, remember, they are literally hours from civilization. I imagine just about everything needs to be trucked or by train from Anchorage or trucked down from Fairbanks! The place felt incredibly clean and warm. I’m sure they have rushes but if you get there early for lunch, we were one of the first table seated. It was pretty packed by the time we left.

What's the best way to find a great local restaurant while on vacation? Ask a shopkeeper! That's how I found the Homestead Kitchen in Talkeetna, and I'm so glad I did. The whole experience was unforgettable. My waitress, Holly, was incredibly warm and friendly. She recommended two things I absolutely had to try: the fried pickles and the halibut sandwich. The pickles were a revelation—homemade and sliced like fries, with a perfect batter that made them dangerously delicious. I also ordered the halibut sandwich without a bun, and Holly thoughtfully served it with a side salad and potato chips. The halibut was clearly fresh, which she confirmed, and it was outstanding. It's blueberry season in Alaska, and Holly recommended the cobbler made with fresh blueberries from Hatcher Pass. Wow! It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Holly also shared a bit of her story with me—it's no surprise she used to be a flight attendant, because you can tell how much she genuinely loves people. Great food and terrific service make this a must-visit spot.

wonderful place on Main Street. If you’re looking for standard pub grub there are plenty of options in this cute little town. However, if you’re looking for a unique dining experience with very good food this is the place. They have a number of really unique apps to choose from.. The Swedish meatballs were something special because they used a raspberry rhubarb glaze. I heard the chowder was amazing by some guests next to us. The Elk sloppy Joe was very unique and delicious. The seafood gumbo was outstanding. Do yourself a favor and add the cheese dip as a side if you get a sandwich that comes with homemade chips. It’s perfect for dipping. Don’t forget to order the rhubarb skillet with a scoop of vanilla custard on top to finish off the meal.

We loved the food and the entertaining and efficient server - Archer, from Hawaii! The “Lloyd’s” sloppy Joe was great, as were the meatballs! Nice place, and maybe the best eating on Main Street! VictorB

Wowza what a gem and a place to eat, great food, great service and atmosphere. Peter was our waiter and he is from Bulgaria and is a student. He was on top of everything and very attentive. The restaurant is clean and cozy..

Great food. We had appetizers for lunch, seafood fritters and meatballs. Both were super yummy and just enough for a small lunch. Meatballs could have been hotter but definitely fully cooked, the sauce was perfect.

We only got items from the bakery - darn glad we did! We got two of the fried pies (pasties) and they were FULL of fruit and made to perfection! We heated for about 15-20 seconds and they were delicious! We also got two cinnamon rolls for the next morning - they were delicious as well. These are the type of cinnamon rolls full of the cinnamon/butter/brown sugar combination! Very sweet, very tasty! Pay attention to the day that you go to Talkeetna as there are shops closed on certain days.

This charming roadhouse was just what my soul needed. Last minute attempt to find a room when the rains poured down on our trip to go camping after sadly not seeing MtMckinley. We got in easily after a quick online reservation was made and the door code given promptly. We stayed in a bunk bed -the last room available but it was comfy and everything we needed was there. Coins for laundry were in the room and would be deducted from our hotel fees so super easy. Soap and shampoo conditioner blow dryers towels in our private bathroom available (our bathroom was down the hall). So many little details that it just felt like you were staying with the best host who genuinely cared you were comfortable. 2 cozy and comfy common rooms had a common room fridge and microwave, sink, etc for storing/warming food and we had the common areas to ourselves in late August. Coffee and to go cups in our room. I still think of this place when I want to go to a happy place. It was glorious. Fire places, puzzles, fun interesting books and games. Even water color or chess all you can eat fresh baked cookies on the counter. Pretty bouquets on the table I could go on.. loved it can’t wait to come back!

This review is for the bakery only. They offer delicious, freshly baked pastries daily. We especially love their blueberry pastry; we've tried it a few times and it has always been amazing. The reindeer-stuffed pastry was also delicious. Highly recommend this location for a quick bite and coffee.

What an amazing stay! We only stayed one night but it will be a forever memory. Trisha made us feel so welcome. We stayed in the Little Cabin in the back. It was so cozy. Also very clean! And they thought of all the little details to make it feel like home. There is a coin operated laundry just for guests so there isn’t really any wait if you need to do a load or two. The bakery is delicious. We split a cinnamon roll for breakfast & it was so good!

Soooo good we ended up here THREE times on our trip to Talkeetna. The actual restaurant was closed for the season but the bakery was still open. The Frosty (cinnamon roll) was addicting, the razzy and blueberry turnovers were our favorite. So delicious! Friendly staff and we absolutely loved the atmosphere inside the Roadhouse. Puzzles, books, toys for kids in the coolest setting.

What a warm and beautiful experience here at Roadhouse! The owner, Trisha, picked me up from the depo and gave me a little tour of the town before welcoming me in. The bunk room was warm, bed comfy, common spaces peaceful, and the bakery next door is divine. As a queer AFAB traveler, I would definitely return.

I am only rating the bakery as I did not stay in the lodge. These are the best cinnamon rolls you’ll ever eat. Ever. The razzie defies logic. I wish they would ship them to the lower 48.

Ate lunch on a weekend while waiting for our glacier flight. I mention this because our server asked if we were on a time crunch or not, which I thought was very considerate! We were not on a crunch so we enjoyed ourselves with a couple of delicious brews and some fish and chips. All food was spot on and beers were excellent! Server was great, atmosphere was great, thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Highly recommended!!!

It was pretty good. Very nice atmosphere. Food was very good. My wife said the soup was definitely home made, nothing from a can here. I had the fish and chips which they say was a hefty portion, but not in my book, it came with three pieces which in any other state would equal one fish piece. But, it was exceptional, flaky and tasty. We also had some cocktails, I had their blueberry mojito and my wife had a strawberry basil drink. They were both good

Some excellent vegan curry and potato wedges! Staff extremely friendly and service quick. All enjoyed their respective meals. I’d also highly recommend their version of Ginger Ale…unexpected and very refreshing!

Good food, great beer. A bit pricey $$$ but not surprising. Brisket sandwich was delicious but with added mushrooms onions, sweet potato fries and 1 beer it was $50 w/tip ! Ouch.

We love visiting Talkeetna but never had the chance to stop but this cozy winter night was perfect and the food was delicious. Our new spot!

For such a small community Talkeetna has several eateries. We were there on the day of Summer Solstice, so the town was hopping. The Brewpub was no exception. Very busy, but they were keeping up very well. Our server was Chloe. She was chipper and efficient with drinks and waters. The meals were hearty and well prepared. We had the pulled pork. A bit bland but moist and tender. Coleslaw was served on the sandwich, but could be ordered on the side. Too full for dessert, which is rare for us -lol.

Food was good. I had the Caribou chili and it was hearty and loaded with veggies. My wife had the Caribou burger. Very lean and tasty. Beer battered fried were crispy and flavorful. Nice selection of Alaskan beers on tap. Reasonable prices and great patio dining.

We came on Sunday 8/22 on our way back to Anchorage from Denali and stopped here because my wife was craving ‘Alaskan King Crab’. Here are our feedback: 🦀Very country, laid back, bar and pub atmosphere. You can sit at the bar area inside or outdoor. There is no dining indoor sitting other than a few tables in the bar areas. 🦀 we ordered the Caribou ‘Northern Lights’ Burger and the 1 lb Alaskan King Crab leg. 🦀 My wife really enjoyed her King Crab. ‘It really hit the spot’ she said. When you have a pregnant🤰🏻wife, that’s when you know you’re in a happy place. 🦀It was my first time trying the Caribou burger and it was better than I expected. Not the best burger I’ve ever had because I just love 💕 my BEEF burger. Nevertheless it was a delicious burger that I would definitely get again. 🦀 Tip: the bathroom is at the entrance before you enter the restaurant. And it was only the host and a teenage boy working because they’re short staffed so expect a wait to be seated and get to be waited on. 🦀Overall, we highly recommend ‘West Rib Pub & Grill’. Big city taste 😋 in a small town in the middle of nowhere. Would definitely return if we ever get a chance to be back in Talkeetna!

Awesome little pub historic good beer prices

Went there because it sounded like a neat place. Had the caribou chili and house salad. My wife got the caribou burger and fries. Not stingy with portions. Pretty tasty meal. Service was fine. Out the door with tip $30.00.

Burgers were pretty burnt, took an hour and a half to arrive, server was bitchy and never came around. One great thing about this place was the beer was pretty good. Also the feta fries were really good.

This is a great place. Rustic and authentic and run by locals. The beer and food are great. We did not stay at the hotel. Walkable to “downtown”. Sit at the bar and make some new friends. The owner is a Cleveland Browns fan, but don’t hold that against her - she is very nice! VictorB

We were in Talkeetna for part of our vacation. We stopped by for lunch and we're pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service were. The server was great. The atmosphere is about what we expected from pictures and the age of the building. We liked the historical articles and photos on the walls.

There are very few breakfast options in the area. We stopped at Latitude 62 and enjoyed the unique dinning area, service, and fast/delicious food. We had a variety of items, but if you go try the homemade cinnamon roll!

I can’t speak to the rooms, but the food was spot-on and our go-to place while in Talkeetna. The place is full of charm, and the staff was great! I loved how it’s the local hangout, too.

So Latitude 62 is a restaurant/ bar more than it is a motel. I’ve never stayed there, so I can tell you nothing about their rooms. I eat there pretty regularly though. I drive a motor coach for Princess and we stage right behind the restaurant so it is convenient for us. I have enjoyed everything I’ve eaten there and sing praises to the halibut on every run into Talkeetna. The service has always been satisfactory too… until today. Usually there is a bartender and a waitress. Today I walked in at about 5 so you would think they would be ramping up to dinner service right? There was only a bartender and the place was decently busy. It took her forever to come around to my table and then she dropped me a menu and said she’d be right back. Several minutes later as I was almost ready to walk out she came and took my order. I ordered the halibut as I always do here. Once I finally got it, it was not the same halibut I usually get here! Usually it is amazing with a delightful garlic flavored, creamy type sauce on it and I love it! What she brought was a plain filet of halibut that someone heated up. Dry, dull and without flavor. I was highly disappointed and I guess it goes to show that even your favorite places can have off days! I will still mention them in my tours, but maybe I’ll lay off the halibut recommendation.

We came here for lunch 2 days in a row. The food was good. We enjoyed wandering through and looking at the pictures. It is well worth the stop to eat.

Worst $280+ meal I’ve ever shared with my family. Crab risotto undercooked, served cold and more accurately described as green pea risotto as there was barely any crabmeat in it. Especially bad considering only the pork chop, steak and king crab are more expensive entrees. Wife liked her scallops, but also complained they were served cold. Best thing I could say is that wine bottles were reasonadt

Dinner was excellent. The reason they didn't get a 5 rating is that my rice in the curry was undercooked. We had the scallops crudo and beet salad for appetizers, which we would highly recommend. I had a combination of Halibut with the squash curry dinner, which was absolutely delicious. Views were great even on a cloudy day. A couple of observations, it was almost a 40-minute wait to get our dinner after appetizers. Also, the dining chairs ready need an upgrade.

This place is not it. I was told my dish was out, 40 min into waiting. It was packed with snarky, drunk people and the server was not attentive (but she could have been understaffed). The price, I paid almost $200 for mediocre, undercooked food that we waited over an hour for.

Torrie, the manager, was reasonable and understanding. This did not excuse the fact that the wait for our food was over an hour. During which time no one checked on our table to refill drinks or bring us bread. I had to go find the wait staff to ask for the manager to find our dinner. The waiter spoke poorly of the kitchen staff openly to us. By the end of our meal it was obvious that this wasn't just because the kitchen was busy as we were lead to believe by our waiter. The dining area wasn't even full. The food was good but not worth the price and horrible service.

Very small portions. All of our steaks were overcooked. Service was slow. The prices were ridiculous. Will not be back.

MUST STOP! 🛑 This was so good! I got the smoked salmon cheese crunch and hubs got the halibut tacos. Both were very delicious! Service was great!

All other restaurants were full so our big group ended up here and we are glad we found it! Good food and good service. We ordered tacos, burgers, and salmon cheese crunch. All were quite tasty. The ice cream was also pretty good. We had a nice lunch on the roadside and enjoyed the local street ambience.

Cash only. A good option for quick take out especially during peak hours when all the restaurants have long lines. The salmon cheese crunch was excellent. The pork tacos was almost as good.

This food is mad good. I’ve been here about eight times and I’ve never been disappointed. Apparently they stay open until 1 o’clock in the morning during summer time, which is absolutely amazing. Cash only, so hit the ATM beforehand.

Cash only! Had the halibut tacos, 2 for $18. Tasty and a bit spicy but the serving was tiny. Had to go somewhere else to get more food.

The tacos were disappointing. The sauce was a little too sweet for us and the (cold) tortillas literally broke as we picked up the tacos so 3/5 However, the salmon quesadilla was phenomenal. Loved it!! definitely a 5/5

Great food stand right next to downtown Talkeetna! They offer delicious salmon patties, salmon burgers, and clam chowder. The food is truly tasty, and the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, making it a great value. I highly recommend checking it out!

Easily some of the best food we had during our entire stay in Alaska! We all got a bowl of chowder and it was amazing. Creamy with the perfect amount of add-ins. We also got the salmon cakes which were equally as great. The prices are reasonable and most are generous portions. A must stop if you are in the Talkeetna area!

I came here for a salmon chowder but after seeing their salmon cakes I changed my mind… and I’m happy I did !!! It was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and juicy… the sauce they serve it with adds a very nice finish !!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TRY THEM!!!!! They have an outdoor seating by the road which can be busy or inconvenient in a bad weather otherwise it’s a good atmosphere with a very friendly service

We've been on a Princess Alaskan land tour, and this was without a doubt the BEST food. The salmon cakes (we had the salmon cake salad) were incredible! We got one to share and went back for a second! The price was reasonable (even by Alaska standards), and the portions were more than enough! UPDATE: It was so good we went back a 2nd time (while we waited for the train to Whittier, AK. So good!

Tried the salmon burger here—honestly, it was just okay.Also, worth noting: the salmon "cakes" are literally the same patty they use for the burger, just served on their own for $10(with fries). Add a bun, some onions, and cheese, and suddenly it becomes a $18 burger(with fries). Nothing wrong with that, but don't expect anything different or elevated between the two.

We ordered salmon chowder and it was best salmon chowder in our life. Salmon cakes with salad are delicious as well. Highly recommend to stop by while travelling through Talkeetna.

Lifelong Alaskan here. This gem in Talkeetna is a slice of Alaskan magic. The salmon cakes are seasoned perfectly and with so much flavor. The salmon cake salad include this magical maple glaze that just takes the already amazing salmon cakes to the next level. And the vegetables in the salad! Crisp, fresh, plentiful! Then the chowder. It was a 15 minute wait - that’s how one knows it is going to be amazing. The wait went by quickly and then….. OUT OF THIS WORLD. As a lifelong Alaskan I rarely each chowder at restaurants because it’s usually horrible. After the magical smell and the pictures on display, I gave jt a try. Let’s just say, it’s a need if you are thinking about it. It’s a need, not a want. And the service! The gentleman was kind, efficient, and funny. Hit this plate up!!!!

Someone in our group wanted a burger. Very casual spot on the main street. Convenient location. Food was fine. Fries were crisp and served hot. Picnic table in enclosed area.

The Burger Barn is located in Talkeetna, AK. The burgers are pretty good. You can choose between bison or a regular hamburger. The onion rings are fantastic! Fries are pretty great too. Like everything in Alaska, it’s a bit expensive, but they are in a tourist town and in that market they are right down the middle. All in all, I’d go back again.

Great food, great service, and a kind staff. We tried a little bit of everything. Really affordable prices for high quality food and portions. We got the Alaska range burger, reindeer hotdog, and we ordered a kids plate without fries so we could try 2 pieces of the halibut. Great way to try a little of everything and I would highly recommend stopping in. The food was fantastic!

The food was amazing. A great opportunity to try elk, bison, reindeer, and caribou as well as salmon and beef. We had the elk, bison, and beef burgers, which were all delicious. I had the caribou dog and loved it. It would be great with some sauerkraut. It was nice to choose outdoor seating or a screened in porch. Such a relaxing and delicious meal.

On a long road trip we stopped here. Pleasantly surprised. Our party had the Mt. Healy burger, the Little Western, the Cod basket and the Reindeer Dog basket. It was really good. A nice little pit stop. Friendly people and nice staff.

The caribou burger was phenomenal. Fries were yummy too. Seriously, the best burger I’ve had in my life. Tasty & juicy, but not greasy or gamey. The 2 gentleman behind the counter were really nice. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Talkeetna & it’s in walking distance to a lot of cute little shops.

Great chicken tenders and crispy fries. The box was so cute too. Burgers look so yummy- we were taking it to go so we opted not to get the burger because we didn't know how it would last on the train ride but boy did they look good. The tenders were large and filling.

Fantastic views and atmosphere. Too bad the service and food didn't match. Our app was forgotten, the desserts were missing ingredients, my daughter's salad had only three raspberries and barely any dressing, and we rarely saw our waitress. The entrees were pretty good. We even saw a group of servers get into an argument about where food was supposed to go after a couple of them went around asking several tables if they had ordered the dishes they were carrying.

The hostess at the entrance was wonderful — very kind and helpful, even recommending an app for watching the Aurora, which we appreciated. The food overall was enjoyable, and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. However, our server forgot to bring my side of potatoes. By the time I mentioned it, everyone at the table had already finished eating. Instead of apologizing or offering to make it right, he simply said he hadn’t brought them and insisted they were “ready.” He eventually brought them out, but as I feared, the potatoes had clearly been sitting in the kitchen for a while and arrived lukewarm. In most restaurants, a dish in such a situation would be offered as a courtesy, but that didn’t happen here. Overall, while the setting and food were lovely, the service left something to be desired.

Absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains!! Our server was amazing and very courteous. We stayed when they were doing the ‘Asian night’ and while the concept was interesting, but clearly not their expertise. The bartender also prepared custom mock tails for our table. The items that tasted the best were all seafood, which are usually a bit pricey. Overall a good experience!

We had a great time here enjoying the bar area and Darren the great, and a friendly hostess (Harmony) and server (Seher). We got a window seat to see the views and really enjoyed the Halibut and braised short rib bolognese with tagliatelle pasta black and truffle Demi truffle pecorino ricotta and fresh herbs - amazing! Pro tip : It does get very crowded when the “tour /cruise bus” crowd hits, so go early or late to miss the line! VictorB

Service was terrible, waiter totally ignored us. Finally had to ask who was our server. He shows up with nothing but excuses of how he’s been working since 7am for past 12 days. Forgot my drink, food was good but the lousy service took away from it. Watched all of the other tables he had get wrong check, heard people complaining loudly. We wanted dessert but passed on it because didn’t want to wait any longer. As we were getting ready to leave, we found out it was his second job of the day, sorry, not my problem!

It’s a hippy dippy liberal coffee and light breakfast shack right off “Main Street” in downtown Talkeetna. Staff is nice in a liberal anti establishment sort of way. The bathroom is a port-a-potty, so a bit wonky. Prices are reasonable! VictorB

A great coffee and light bites cafe right in Talkeetna. We got a few drip coffees and lattes and all were delicious. We grabbed our coffees to go, but there were a few spots inside and out where you could stay and eat. The walk up window makes it easy to order. Prices were great as well.

Excellent coffee and the perfect stop for crepes during your tour of downtown Talkeetna. The vanilla latte I got was perfectly made and a reasonable price. Plenty of seating around the ordering window so we had no issues finding a comfortable shady spot to enjoy the drinks!

Great vibe from this place! Excellent breakfast choices with fast; friendly service. We got a breakfast sandwich; bagel; and a smoothie. 10/10 would recommend this place. Downtown Talkeetna area is beautiful!

I don’t quite understand why there are reviews criticizing taste. The food is quite delicious here! Really liked the poke. Tuna was very fresh. Service was attentive enough, environment was peaceful, restrooms clean. Price was reasonable, especially by Alaskan standards. There’s also a small section for merch and fishing books (not for sale). Additionally, they sell small tins of canned fish.

I don't usually take pics of food, but I had to this time. The fish tacos are THE best I've ever had! The wife's shrimp salad was great also. It's definitely a place to eat if you're in Talkeetna.

We were walking down the road and happened upon the bistro, it looked quiet and sits kind of on its own, but WOW!! It has been the absolute best meal of our trip so far. The service was wonderful, and the flavors of the food were just spectacular. We loved the rainbow chili nachos, the rice bowl (great veggies and shrimp), the fish tacos and the seafood mac. And the desserts were as indulgent as our server said they’d be. What a gem!!

It was a busy evening at the restaurant and the kitchen staff looked overwhelmed. The waiter did warn me there was a wait for food but it was okay, I got my food in a decent amount of time. But damn that was one sad halibut burger I was served. Tiny bland piece of halibut on a bun and some veggies for $28. So disappointed how bland the meal was. I don't think that was even due to the kitchen being overwhelmed, it's just their recipe. Wait staff also was overwhelmed and didn't even bring me any silverware nor check on me once. The restaurant looked cute but was sadly such a let down.

Would have got 5 stars on the food, except the Mac and cheese was bland, needed a lot of salt/pepper. Would have been helped with some seasoned vegetables and/or Parmesan cheese and a little baking. The rice bowl with the shrimp and the grilled salmon with the rhubarb marmalade was exceptional. Food was hot when it came out, real plus and not fried. Vegetables and purple rice were very well done. Karim, our waiter was very good, great smile and personality. Skinny is the chef- tasty food, nice presentation, and plating. The order was correct, made very good recommendations from his own personal experience. Would advance him. Nice location. Close to drop off from the hotel. Close to downtown. Average place. The food tasted okay. The portion size is very small for the price they offer. We ordered crab sandwich it was one bread cut in half and some crab meat on it. And ordered tacos, came with two smallest one that I have seen with little to no meat. And they were out of there speciality dishes of Halibut and Salmon.

This is our first time trying their homemade ice-cream unfortunately they used food coloring for my vanilla w/ rasberries flavor. It tasted good but it was not worth $10 for my ice-cream especially not with the real fruit flavor. They should mention to their customers that what they use in the ingredient.

Really enjoyed our visit here! The ice cream was delicious, and the woman working at the shop was super sweet—she offered us samples and took the time to explain their famous Fireweed flavor. It had a mild, unique taste and we could see why it's a local favorite—we liked it too! Definitely recommend trying both the Fireweed and Northern Lights flavors. Great spot with great vibes!

It was a REALLY big portion of ice cream (pictured is the one scoop) but the flavors I’ve got (fire weed and huckleberry cheesecake) tasted very similar where we expected to taste a significant difference- that of course is subjective Overall the portions are huge, service was friendly and (long) line was moving fairly fast

I had the coffee flavored ice cream and my husband had the huckleberry cheesecake. They were $9 for a single scoop. Both of our ice creams had a very mild flavor, but compared in quantity and taste (but not price) to the other food trailer in town.

Scoops are very generous, I had the fireweed ice cream and my husband had the cookies and cream. There is a nice area to sit and people watch while you enjoy a cold treat

Do. Not. Miss. Shirley's!! Like all Americans, we've had far more ice cream than is fair... Shirley's home made is fantastic. Soft. Creamy. Unique flavors. To be locals, we had the Northern Lights and Fireweed, both were delicious (two scoops for $8.99). You can also buy espresso, local honey, smoked salmon, cookies and other baked goods. But. Try the ice cream. If you are around, go back for seconds. Sadly we could not.

Really enjoyed the iconic fireweed ice cream and I had the honor of being served it by Ms. Shirley herself! They offer classic and unique flavors, and are happy to let you try a sample before committing to a whole cone. The ice cream is very high quality and they do NOT skimp! When they say one scoop it is more like a large cone from the big ice cream chains, you will not be disappointed!

This is the highlight and cornerstone of Talkeetna. Autumn, our bartender, was so nice and informative. The beers are cold, the drinks are great and the salmon chowder is to die for. It was exactly as advertised, accommodation above the 100 year old pub in Talkeetna. The rooms were basic but spotlessly clean as were the 2 shared bathrooms. The one with the claw bath was great! We were in on a Saturday night so figured we wouldn't get much sleep, but we lucked out as the band was excellent so we partied until 1.00 along with all the locals. Good fun!

Came here for a few drinks while in town. They had live music going. I enjoyed playing ping pong and the axe throwing. Good service at the bar and decent prices for beers.

13Sept2025: Great food Clean and pleasant atmosphere Wonderful vibe The bartender run the whole front of house with precision and efficiency. What a wonderful woman!!!! We were a group of 12, taking up her two booths and a couple of seats at the bar. She was a super star. Drinks were cold, food was hot and delicious. Excellent sized dishes. Several is us had the chowder, yum yum yum. Fish and chips, great seasoning in the fries. The fish was yummy, the batter was just thick enough to give a really nice flavor but not hide the nice fish inside. The shrimp i think was the same batter, very nice. And of course our picky eater enjoyed a very nice cheese burger. Highly recommended.

The patio was great at first - we loved the fire pit and appreciated the blankets provided for customers as it was chilly, but (and this isn’t entirely the restaurant’s fault) the crowds of people coming in from the cruise line buses really put a damper on our experience. There was a very long wait for the bathrooms, food service was slow as there was only a couple of waitresses for the entire place, the food is cooked at a small food truck parked next to the patio so it took awhile due to the crowds, and there were tons of people crowding around the tables arriving from the buses. The menu was limited, with no kids menu as well and the food was pricey for what you get. Overall the taste of the food was decent and I think the patio and our experience would’ve been much different had we not gotten there minutes before hoards of people from multiple cruise lines arrived.

We stumbled into this place by accident. We’re here mid September & I guess most places have adopted winter hours meaning they don’t open until 4pm. Halibut & chips 9/10 only because there were only 5. Maybe that’s normal, regardless they were really good. Hubby has the sirloin burger and also liked it. Great lil’ outside seating area with a couple fire places for warmth (& blankets upon request) and ambiance. Excellent, polite, helpful staff.

The service was great. We had ordered salmon chowder and fish & chips which were average.

Dinner plans fell through, so I checked subway's hours online. Google and the official subway site said the location closes at 10pm, and with the 45 min drive I would have to make I'd be there by 9pm. I arrived at 9pm to find the door locked, and the sign on the door ALSO said the store was open til 10. Wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time and gas and had just made dinner instead. Don't count on this store to be open when they say they are.

Got to be one of the nicer Subways i've been to in Alaska. Neat log cabin feel. Food and service has always been good. Great place to stop when traveling the Parks Highway.

This particular subway was on a major highway next to a Speedway gas station. The place was small and they we having difficulty fulfilling customer’s orders when our bis stopped and had ~20 plus orders. Additionally their microwave/oven was not working, meant that they were not able to make any warm sandwiches.

Great food! Love the drunken noodles, spring rolls and Thai iced tea. Ken Miller is super friendly too. They also have a heated dining space with free coffee and tea which is very nice in the winter. If you like super spicy things, you should try their “Dave Hot” Super Spicy Challenge.

If you are obsessed with Thai food like me and looking for an authentic place- this is the perfect spot for you! Amazing Thai food !!!! Can’t get enough of it

Superbly made Thai food in a great location! My wife and I had the pot thai, spicy basil chicken and spring rolls. We've lived in S.E. Asia so it was fun to talk food with the owners. They really know what they are doing and I was so glad to see real home-made chili paste on the tables to spice it up further if need be. We had a wonderful meal in a cozy setting. If you like Thai cuisine you will be very happy to eat here.

The Pad Thai I could eat everyday. Everything is fresh made with heart and quality. We had such a pleasant time with the owners. They were very gracious and wonderful hosts. We can’t wait to come back to try more yummy food!

Stopped by for some lunch on our way to Anchorage. Pleasantly surprised by the welcoming environment and handsome employee who took our order. Food was honestly some of the best we’ve had after two weeks driving all around Alaska, and prices were great too. After eating, the owner gladly showed us around his property and his awesome dog. Overall left with a smile on my face.

Wonderful experience. Chris might just be the best host I’ve ever had. He went out of his way to get a room prepared early for us, helped get some forgotten valuables, and was just generally a friendly, kind dude. Would absolutely recommend a stay here!

We were in room 21 on the bottom floor, the room was very clean, but it definitely had an odor to it, maybe they used ammonia to clean? The bathroom was nice and big. The curtains were too small for the window so they weren’t blackout. We had a Jimmy a towel to block the cracks for privacy. Had breakfast the next morning with Alicia, service was slow and she wasn’t all that friendly, but the portions were large enough to probably share next time. There is a walkway through the woods to get to town, which was a nice shortcut. The town is quaint and easily accessible by foot. The river was beautiful too.

My favorite place to get breakfast in town for so many reasons. In 4 years living here, the food is delicious every single time, and the coffee is always brewed just right. Most importantly, the ownership is just excellent. They are some of our finest community members. They donate, volunteer, and have even opened their home to children who needed a place to live. You could not put your money into a better place. Not just food that tastes good, but a place that you can feel good about giving business to. Don't skip it!

I visited for 3 days before the season. In April. That's why the restaurant was not open. The room is in a cottage. It's not luxury, but it's very comfortable for hiking. Everything was new and clean. The owner is very friendly and helpful if needed. The town is nice for photos and with pleasant residents. I felt very comfortable here. Next time I will come by train and rent an eBike.

With in walking distance to downtown Talkeetna where there are lots of good options. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. Would definitely come back again.

This Thai restaurant is awesome and on the way to Denali Park closer to Talkeetna. Its right on the highway so no rerouting/detours. Their thai food is better than most Thai restaurants I have tried in the US. Preparation is quick and variety is large. The mother daughter duo that run this place are awesome and it seems like a family run business. We had their cashew chicken, drunken noodles with tofu, panang curry and yellow curry and everything was delicious. The quantity for 1 curry is more than enough for 2 people.

Handsdown, One of the best Thai meals we had. !! They are an authentic Thai restaurant situated on the highways. We ordered vegetable fried rice and some edamame on the side. Portion size was good. Two fried rice was good for two adults and two kids. We came after closing and they were still very patient with us and waited until we had food to close. Very friendly staff. The food quality is really great. I would definitely recommended it as one of the best option to try. And they are a cozy place tucked 50 yards from the highway, so, it should be very easy to find them 😀

I work just a football field away and every chance I get I eat here. The portioning is on point for the prices. The owners are some of the nicest ladies you will meet. They are quick and proficient with what they do provide. I can't recommend a specific plate because it is all delicious and y'all are just going to have to find out for yourselves 😊

Really delicious and fulfilling food. We ordered the Vegan Tofu Red Thai Curry and the Pineapple Fried Rice, both of which had really great flavors. My friends ordered the chicken yellow curry which was very nice, but they liked the red curry more! Overall an amazing place to eat thai food in Alaska.

Food was good, pretty much what I would expect for Thai food. The food earns the 4-star rating. Service was not very friendly (sorry for bothering you.) Atmosphere is not all that great, sitting outside alongside a fairly busy road.

What a delightful experience! Every bite was delicious and exciting. We got a solo traveler box that we thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely worth the stop!!!!!

Nice little Hippie shop that sold a bunch of nice things: cheese, charcuterie, chocolates, drinks, preserved fruit, etc. I think the summary would be: upscale hippie.

Expensive and coffee is no good, at least the drip. Not very friendly staff and they forgot my order. Hipster place of you like that. They play loud music and you can't talk. They already had someone dancing outside at 11am like if it was a club, putting customers off. I think there are other better options in town.

I visited Mimi’s a few months ago and still thinking about the great time I had there! Mimi is the sweetest and she has done such a lovely and intentional job with this shop. The cheese selection is fantastic and I loved that she does cheese happy hour. I took my cheese board to the park across the road and it was perfect. A perfect place for thought out gifts, most of them local, and awesome stickers (many designed by Mimi herself)! I’ll be talking about Mimi’s Haus of Cheese all the live long day and I can’t wait to return. Thanks Mimi!

My wife and kids were driving from Anchorage to Fairbanks and decided to stop in Talkeetna to scoop it out. I’m sooo glad we did. This place is awesome. The picnics to go are so tasty and the staff are friendly. They sell more than cheese. They had stickers and nice travel mugs. Jams and jellies. I will be back.

This is SUCH A GREAT business!!! Tons of AMAZING selections of cheeses and meats. But wait, there's more! This store also has an eclectic mix of amazing snacks, ice cream, and trinkets. Has the friendlyness feeling of a bicycle shop meets cheese shop. Highly recommended stopping here.

This was one of the best Asian meals I’ve had (not just in Alaska, but overall!) the chicken chow mein was amazing. My boyfriend got the teriyaki chicken and loved it. The family that owns the restaurant is so friendly!

We ordered chicken fried rice and pad Thai . Chicken fried rice was good but Thai was ok. But overall service was too good. And feedback taking was good. The lady was so responsive

This place is amazing! They have pictures of most of the items on the menu but there are a few they don’t, but the items that are not on the menu the staff can explain the items really well. The owner is also really nice and also helps out. The restaurant may be a little small but it is cozy. I had the orange chicken and the bagel and they where both amazing! There where 2 couples that had ramen including my father and they all said it was amazing! In his words “it was really good, it was like comfort food” it also warmed him up because it was cold at the time. I whould say that the serving sizes are a good price for the money. Sometimes if there are not a lot of people inside and there is a good music than you can hear the cook singing in the back . I whould highly recommend this restaurant for everybody. The really only thing that I disliked was that the place was kind of around the corner so it was a little hard to find. But overall I recommend this to anybody visiting or even living around the restaurant!

Nice little place with a simple menu. Ordered chowmein and veg spring rolls. Noodles could've used just a little bit more spice, but I guess that's my preference and not something everyone may like. The owner/host is quite pleasant and polite.

Bad food! Worse service! Inedible hot and sour soup. It smelled like petroleum and tasted incredibly bad. After I told the owner that I don’t eat meat, she asked me to remove the meat from my soup. We left the whole bowl uneaten and she still charged full money for it! Food is completely not worth the price - neither quality nor quantity.

If you’re looking for incredibly tasty food and service look no further. The owner/server is both adorable and oh so kind. The food was AMAZING. The spring rolls, chicken curry, and chow mein are all awesome options.

So good! The goat cheese in the spinach salad was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The bacon cheese hamburger was yummy too. The Wooly mammoth was packed with roast beef and gooey cheese. Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was amazing with beautiful window views. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

It’s a classic lodge and more importantly place to eat a meal with an amazing view of Mt McKinley (on a clear day). The food is great, and the service is better! Small gift shop. It’s been here for 50 years so it’s legendary! VictorB

Delicious preparation incl burgers, everything was great. Service is prompt and friendly. Good location and ambience ,both inside and the deck. Don't go by the looks of exterior, place inside is good. On a clear day, enjoy awesome view of Mt.Denali along with the food! To the owner- you have a fab place inside, also polish up the exterior to make it more appealing for people driving by.

A fantastic stop you don’t want to miss on your road from/to Denali. This lodge-vibe, high-ceiling cafe is an epitome of retro charm. And the server of this place? The most friendly lady I could’ve ever imagined.

Came here all 3 nights we spent in the area. Curds, chicken tenders, burgers, french dip, and desserts were all fantastic. Staff were all very nice ladies and made us feel at home.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but who cares! The view of the mountains is the name of the game. Our tour bus was allowed to park there and enjoy her stunning view from her patio before they opened. When it opened the place was stormed be quite the crowd. Just bakery and beverages, but they handled it all well. What a great way to start the day.
