Prospector's Pizzeria & Alehouse, housed in the historic Old Northern Lights Theater building, has been a beloved dining spot since 1917. This spacious establishment offers a wide selection of brick oven pizzas and an impressive array of over 50 beers on tap from local Alaskan breweries. The menu boasts gourmet pizza options like reindeer sausage and elk meatballs, along with American staples such as chicken parm subs and Italian burgers.
Probably Alaska’s best pizza. Our tour guide put us on to this place and we ate there for supper one night and lunch the next. It was a busy spot, often with a wait but it’s worth it. 49 beers on tap, wide selection! The pizzas were amazing and there was a combo for everyone. You need to try this place if you’re in Denali.
Shane D — Google review
The pizza doughs were exceptional, and this is coming from a New Yorker! However, their pizzas were a bit too light on the sauce which made the pizzas quite dry. We got the lower 48 it aint but swapped the reindeer sausage to chicken due to the pork. We also ordered the cliff dweller which was also a bit dry and needed some sauce. Our server was really friendly and the place had a nice vibe especially outside.
Maryam — Google review
We enjoyed baked chicken mac n cheese, elk meatballs on spaghetti, pepperoni pizza, and chicken Alfredo. The chicken breasts were tender, flavorful, and without weird grissel. The cheese was rich and creamy. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere visually engaging.
Teresa F — Google review
Probably the best pizza we had in Alaska but didn’t take photo of it. Instead we took photos of halibut sandwich and the elk meatballs. Be warned bring your ID if you want to order alcohol as they are very strict about even if you look over well over 21 years of age.
Tom B — Google review
Wonderful draft beer selection! Lots of Belgium options. I had a Maibock and my husband had a Belgium Quad. We had the Margarita pizza and it was delicious! Crispy crust and fresh ingredients. We were also surprised to be able to sit outside during a very busy rush. We enjoyed the gorgeous view from the deck.

We ate here twice during our stay in Denali. The first night the wait was extremely long, but we arrived at 7 pm, so we ordered takeout. Early dining will get you a seat for dinner without a wait. At 4pm the following day we were seated immediately. The wait staff was courteous and friendly. We tried three pizzas, the Prospector (like a supreme pizza), the Kodiak Bear (like a meat lovers) and the Fireweed (bacon, Italian sausage with a hot honey drizzle which was yummy!). The first night we ordered the Grizzly size(16”) which was too much for two. The Cub size (12”) was just right for two to share and have three slices each. I can’t imagine better pizza in Denali, or elsewhere for that matter. The crust was delicious, and I asked for ranch dressing to dip. The restaurant was decorated with cool memorabilia and photos from the gold rush era.
Tina B — Google review
We loved this place so much! The Chinook Pizza was incredibly good smoked Salmon pizza and so was the King Crab Ravioli pasta dish our son had. The 49th State beers/ales are pretty awesome! Syd our waitress did an excellent job guiding us through the menu as well!
NickiSucher — Google review
We’re vegetarians and were really happy with the options here! We tried the pesto pizza (without chicken), mac and cheese, and spinach salad (also without chicken) — everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh, and the portions were generous. The service was amazing — our server was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The ambience is cozy and relaxed, perfect after a day of exploring Denali. One of the best parts? They’re open till midnight! So there’s no need to rush out of the park just to make it to dinner on time. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area

Serbian restaurant

Gluten-free restaurant
Nestled in a rustic setting with breathtaking mountain views, Moose-AKa's is a must-visit restaurant in Denali, Alaska. This Serbian eatery, founded by a former seasonal worker turned American, offers an array of specialties such as fried crepes, schnitzel, Russian salad, stuffed peppers, and the classic moussaka. Catering to vegans and vegetarians as well, it provides a refreshing departure from typical bar food.
Need to reserve ahead of time but this place worths it to the core! We got lucky since we just walked in at late hours, on a rainy night and they had some no-shows which rarely happened. The food was great, authentic Serbian food (certified authentic approval by my Eastern European husband lol). Maya the waitress and the chef were very friendly, helpful, and truly loved what they were doing. I could tell by the way how they treated every-single-customer with full attention and genuineness, even though it was at closing time. This place is Googlw top rated and Trip Advisor awarded for a reason. If we ever had a chance to be back at Denali, I would definitely come back to visit them again!

Visited this very well reviewed place sometime back on our way to Denali Park. They are owned by Michael and Maya. Here is the summary of my review and experience there. 1) Ambiance 5/5: The ambiance is not your typical one that you would see in any other restaurant. This place is very different and you could see the thought and culture on display. Even the restrooms are well though out. It has a very rustic vibe with Serbian themes. 2) Service 5/5: The people and the owners are super nice and they really make you feel special here. Everyone is super helpful and explains everything delightfully. They have some of the most incredible stories to tell you. It was so great that I would like to thank everyone by name - Gary was our server who was very helpful. Peter helped with drink. Polina hlped with some hiking suggestions. Elizabeth was at the back of the kitchen. 3) Food 3/5: This is where I was the most disappointed. Although everything else was great, the food was not the best. I feel the food was a let down to their amazing hospitality and decor. Here is the summary of what we had: a) Pilici Pilav: It is chicken rice which tasted bland. It was like Indian Chicken Khichdi but with much less flavor. Not a fan and didnt not like the chicken in it. b) Meze Platter: This was good. I am not a fan of Pork but this was good and crispy. The Rgussian salad was ood. c) Grandmother's chocolate cake: The cake was meh with more oats than chocolate and it was peanut butter in it which I am not a fan of. d) Vegan Dessert: We were confused about the cheesecake of this vegan dessert and asked the server. They insisted on this and said this is their best seller. It was such a let down. He said we wont know it was vegan and gluten free - Oh we knew it in every bite. We ate less than 25% of it, packd it and then ultimately had to throw it away. I so wish we had not listened to him and had the cheesecake. 4) Value for Money 2/5: The service and decor are great but the soul aka the food is kinda let down plus they are pricey. So not the best. Even though the place looks like a hole in the wall place, it is costly. The good: i) The decor ii) Service iii) People Not so Good: 1) Food 2) Price 3) Vegan Dessert

First and foremost, dining here is an experience and not meant to be gobbled down!! Its reservations only, but would very highly recommend planning to go in. Michael and Maja are amazing hosts, the ambience, service, food, drinks everything is amazing. We got their chocolate martini and Turkish Irish coffee and I highly recommend the Turkish Irish Coffee!!! We tried the vegan bell pepper dish, rice pilav with chicken and fried bread-all tasty! Dessert was a toss up between their cheesecake and fried crepes, both were different to what we are used to.

Dinner at Moose-Aka’s is not just a meal, it’s an experience. First of all, you MUST have reservations. They do not accept walk ups at all. I noticed in their website that they said that reservations must be made 24-hours in advance by email. We were within the 24 hours, but I wrote them anyway. What did I have to lose? As it happens, they had a cancellation and they offered us the open table, which we accepted. The restaurant is Balkan, which is a bold choice for such a small tourist area. The interior is dark and cozy. There are only about twelve tables inside. We were greeted by the cheerful hostess. We were made to feel at home. Once we were seated, the chef came by. He told us that he insists on explaining the menu to each table. A very personal touch. My wife and I are familiar with Eastern European food, so we took in the menu quickly. We started with the meze platter, which included a sampling of four different appetizers. Everything was wonderful! We ordered pitcher of sangria to drink. It was very tasty, full of fruit, and I might add, pretty strong! For the main, my wife chose the Sarma, cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef and seasonings. It was very good, but perhaps a touch bland. We would have liked a bit more flavor in the sauce. I chose the Kardjordjeva Schnitzel it is essentially a pork version of a cordon bleu. It was magnificent! We ordered two desserts, the Grandmother’s chocolate cake, and the cheesecake crepe. The chocolate cake was not to my liking, but the crepe was one of t the best desserts I’ve ever eaten. Denali has no right to have such an amazing restaurant! The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! My wife talked about our experience all the way back to the hotel. Definitely the best dining experience available in Denali, if not all of Alaska!

Michael is an absolutely phenomenal chef who deserves everything good coming his way. Hands down an experience I’ll never forget. Just do it. Make those reservations and do it. You will not be disappointed.

What a delightful surprise! My husband is Romanian and I wanted to surprise him with food from his home. And boy, he was surprised! We absolutely loved the atmosphere. Chef Michael welcomed and greeted us. He took the time to explain the menu and give recommendations. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious: schnitzel, sarma, the appetizers, and the desserts. The waitresses, Nikki and Moja, were very attentive. They made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. We highly recommend this treasure of a place!
Vonnie R — Google review
Amazing food and service! I got the cabbage rolls and my husband got the vegan pilaf. We started with the mezze platter and the chef split it between vegetarian and meat-based foods (my husband is strict veggie). Chef Michael was very accommodating to our dietary needs. We also got the cheese cake which was like a delicious custard. All the food was comforting and delicious! Chef Michael was very welcoming and explained everything before we started ordering. Maja was very kind. They let you enjoy your meal and you never feel rushed. Highly recommend! Service felt very personalized.

The Black Bear is a charming log cabin cafe in Alaska known for serving top-notch coffee and delectable breakfast items. The cozy spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect stop during a visit to Denali. Guests rave about the delicious avocado toast, perfectly crafted espresso beverages, and an enticing pastry case featuring dairy/gluten-friendly options.
Alaskan coffee is now my favorite! The Caramel Latte was creamy, rich, and tasty. I love the latte art in my foam! The atmosphere inside was upbeat and I felt right at home. Staff members were friendly, speedy, and professional. We ate the Avocado Toast, Breakfast Burrito, Granola Parfait, and a breakfast plate. All of the food came out in a timely manner and tasted delicious! The restaurant was surprisingly clean considering how busy they were - all the tables were wiped quickly and the area for returning plates was tidy. The Black Bear is super accessible with plenty of parking. It was a chilly day but the temperature inside was cozy. There was a selection of local artwork on the wall for sale that looked professionally painted. The shop felt very welcoming and had a great Alaskan identity. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to experience great Alaskan coffee!

We had a satisfactory experience here. It’s pretty basic as you order at the counter and take your food to an open table to eat it, and you self clean up the plates and glasses for them. The biscuits and gravy are legendary but I found the biscuits to be a bit dry/hard. The other food around me eggs/bacon actually looked better. Coffee has a unique taste that might be better or worse than you expected. People are all nice there and the location is great, surrounded by shops. VictorB

Great little coffee shop among the gift shops near the entrance to Denali national park. The latte I ordered was prepared perfectly with great tasting espresso and excellent milk texture and temperature. There are tons of options for drinks and plenty of pastries available as well! I highly recommend stopping here for your coffee needs!

Delicious, homemade food. We are in the area for two days and came here for dinner, breakfast and lunch, and probably will come again for breakfast tomorrow. Do note that it can take ~30 minutes to prepare your meal but it is well worth it. Don't miss their amazing selection of baked goods Including vegan, gf, and refined-sugar free options.

So good we went multiple times! Could be a line in the morning when they opened. Make a mean latte. Staff was friendly. Flavorful tomato soup. Can take anything to go. Offer grab and go sandwiches. All of the brown rice bowls were hearty and worth the price. About 6 tables in back and bar seating.
Marit L — Google review
We came back here three times in two days! They were one of the few places we found in Denali with fresh, healthy food. We couldn’t stop coming back! So delicious.
Sarah K — Google review
Food was ok. Made with fresh ingredients. A little bland. But they did provide hot sauce on all tables. I bet it gets very busy in peak season and might get difficult to find a place to sit in. The waiting staff are quick, polite, and efficient.
Raghu B — Google review
Overall a great experience. We got coffee and breakfast. Slightly on the pricier end, but I think it’s justified given the seasonal nature of travel around the area. I got the breakfast bearito and my wife got the lumberjack. Both of us were pleased with our meals.

Very classy establishment. And James Beard award winning food. Takes some time in between courses but you’re made aware of that up front. I dug the Beef Tenderloin and Key Lime Tart. Great wine selection; I opted for Cab.

Very difficult to get reservations here. Need to call two weeks in advance! They were quite kind to work us in given everyone is staff limited. Food was outstanding. Nice find for this remote spot. Lots of vegetarian choices that are quite good. Desserts are fantastic! And cool connection to our hometown of Huntsville, AL. Chef at 1892 has worked here.

The food, service and ambience at 229 Parks were all wonderful. I’d say the king crab ravioli was the most memorable dish of the night. Snag a reservation when you can so you don’t miss out on this place!

Absolutely loved it! Terrific menu using local foods. Hard to believe such a great place does it so perfect, way out in the middle of nowhere. Meant for the tourists in Denali, too far for locals, but if you can make it there, worth it.

High quality menu here with an amazing view. Service can be a bit patchy but what’s coming out of the kitchen is very solid. Recommend.

Aapenglow has an amazing view of Denali NP with a wrap around patio area. The restaurant has a limited menu for dinner, but some tasty choices. The prices are rather high, but it is probably a better restaurant choice for adults only vs families with young kids. There is a small kids menu, however. The food was pretty tasty...highly recommend the focaccia bread. The salmon chowder was too rich for my taste, but still delicious. The salmon main dish was delightful. Service is prompt and very friendly. The atmosphere was the best part in a high ceiling lodge environment.

Lots of windows to check out absolutely amazing view! We came here in July. Love the staff, they work soooo hard. They are amazing. They are from all over the world. Food was fresh. Everything thing was good! Drinks were all good. Afterwards there is an outdoor balcony with telescopes to view far away mountains. Worth every penny!

Good selection of dishes, including some healthy options. Service was very good and the overall meal was flavorful, even if a few things didn’t match the menu exactly. Our black barley was swapped for quinoa in the salmon dish and no shaved squashwas on the plate. The Tundra salad was missing a few advertised veggies (watermelon radish and carrots). The salmon was slightly overcooked despite our request for medium, so we’ll try medium rare next time. My husband wasn’t a fan of the cold ricotta on the warm pasta, but that might come down to personal taste. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but I guess that’s expected in Alaska. But the view alone makes it worth it.

The service, food, and views are awesome. Not much more to say than that. Would dine here again if we weren't just staying one night at the Grande Denali.

Located near the entrance of Denali National Park, the Denali Park Salmon Bake is a renowned restaurant offering comfort food and drinks in a charming rustic setting. Visitors rave about its delectable creamy seafood chowder, cedar-plank salmon, and blueberry scones. Despite the wait for a table, diners find that the experience is well worth it. This landmark eatery has been a dining and entertainment hub for park visitors since 1984.
Such an authentic place. You can tell how many people have enjoyed meals here. It is a fantastic place. After a day in the park they offer great local beers and yak-adillas, elk burgers, crab grilled cheese, salmon, and of course all the classic food you would expect. The floor is crooked and half of the building looks like it is falling down, but that just makes it all the more authentic. The staff knows the menu well and they are all so professional and helpful. There are also events going on all the time and it gets lively late at night.

Good food and great service. It is really quite nice inside. The outside certainly doesn't reflect it. Friends had halibut and chips and enjoyed. I had my first elk burger and it was tasty. Steak sandwich was also tasty. A lot of beers to select from. I recommend the 907 lager.

I can't recommend the Denali Park Salmon Bake highly enough! The wait staff was excellent. Management was attentive. The chowder is among the best I've ever had, and I've lived all over New England. It's very full of seafood. The beers are also exceptional. They are custom made by the 49th State Brewing Company. I recommend the 907 and the Baked Blond. They were out of the McCarthy's stout, but a nitro powered Irish stout is never to be passed up.

Great restaurant — fresh, yummy food, great atmosphere and vibes. Food is fresh and house-made, worth the price, good portions and good options, and all really good. I came here for dinner and breakfast and loved it. The creek and outdoor seating is beautiful and the indoor is good too. Definitely would return and highly recommend.

This is the best restaurant you will find in the Denali area. We ate here every day during our 3 nights in Denali, and luckily we were staying right on site in the creekside cabins so we didn't have to venture too far. The food is exquisite and the chef fish specials are top notch. The service is also amazing - huge shout-out to Katie who is an excellent waitress! We enjoyed chatting with her during each visit. This restaurant is a MUST VISIT!

We had a great breakfast here (good selection of veg options) and the latte was so good! We had Avacado sandwich which was filling and well made with Sourdough bread and microgreens on top. We also ordered side of sourdough bread and rhubarb jam - it was good too! It has a Togo menu separate from dining menu. Scones were the only other thing which was without eggs/gelatin. And they were out of Matcha tea.

I had dinner here and was genuinely impressed — the food and service were both excellent. I had the salmon tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They also have a nice selection of baked goods, coffee, and an espresso machine. I stopped in a few times for an espresso after dinner during my trip — great quality and consistently good. If you’re visiting Denali, this is a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They also offer items to-go and have a front desk that can help you book local activities, which was super convenient. Highly recommend stopping in!

Little bit like being in heaven. After all the road stops food, we feel illuminated about this great dinning experience for a price which is more than fair. We did directly a second time today. The waiters were really kind and attentive but not too intrusive. Many thanks to all from the Creekside team.

Definitely worth the stop. I was about to turn down the Denali Hwy but decided to go another ten miles up the road to this cafe. The Halibut burrito bowl was the bomb. My waitress Katie was awesome, super friendly and great service. Great atmosphere and views. Don’t think about it, just go there.

First, OMG! Second, OMG! Had dinner here on a Thursday evening. No wait for an outside table and the weather was awesome so we enjoyed it. I had the Chefs Special Salmon and I can honestly say it was the best Salmon I have ever had! Each layer was unique but perfectly complemented each other. Flavors were spot on and the cook was perfect. This should be an every day dish! The others in my party had turkey pot (delicious) and Chili (yum). We topped off our dinner with a Chocolate Avalanche. It was the best desert I have had while exploring Alaska. Before we left, we picked up some bakery goodies to enjoy the next morning. I highly recommend McKinley Creekside Cafe & Bakery! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Stoped by this place after visiting Denali park and water amazed by the stuff, food and atmosphere. The menu had so many different food options. We ordered soups: Chowder and French onion soup Alaska sample - the best choice if you would like to try a few different options, as it’s included fish + salmon dip with bread and sausages On a top to fresh and delicious regular food, they had a huge choice of desserts and espresso

American restaurant
Nestled within the scenic McKinley Chalet Resorts, Karstens Public House is a delightful dining destination that beautifully marries American comfort food with a unique Alaskan twist. This modern tavern-style eatery boasts an inviting open-concept layout and charming patio seating, perfect for soaking in the stunning surroundings. The menu features mouthwatering specialties like slow-smoked brisket and bacon-wrapped bison meatloaf, alongside local favorites such as caribou burgers and fresh sheefish.
A lovely evening was spent by my hubby and friends when we dined at the Public House restaurant in Denali. Each one of us had a wonderful meal. And even shared bites. The salmon over potato compote was exceptional. The blue cheese dressing on my salad tasted home made and not from an industrial container. The fish and chips were light and not greasy. The appetizer of the spinach and seafood dip with chips was extra yummy! Best of all- the banana pudding! Enough for two or more to share. We ate outside and listened to live music- a nice addition. Lastly, Sendyss was super helpful and professional as our waitstaff. Thoroughly enjoyed talking to her! We also loved the log wall inside. Super fun decor!

We went to Karstens as a party of 12. Due to our large size we weren’t able to be seated all together, two seats of six. The table I sat at order two starters, shrimp and tenders. The shrimp wasn’t seasoned and needed some garlic. The spicy sauce wasn’t great, but the cocktail sauce was good. Don’t hate on this I’m not a big fish guy. 1.5/5 stars. The tenders were superb!! The taste was great and very tendered, flavor packed a punch and was great honey mustard. 4.5/5 stars. After, the starters I had grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was grilled well and the cheese tasted really good. The Caesar salad was also very tasty. No complaints. 4.5/5 stars. Lastly, the dessert the Waffel cheesecake was super delicious. One of the best I had. 5/5 stars. Our server Brice, was very friendly and helpful. He definitely gets a 5/5. I would recommend this very much.

This place was a joke. We ordered a Caesar salad and it came out with 4 pieces of romaine lettuce on a plate. It was a joke. Steak looked like it came from a Denny’s, (probably would have been better there). Mac and cheese was burnt to a crisp and oily. The day before I had better cheesier Mac and cheese at the airport! Save your money and time. Do not eat here!! Servers were excellent, but that was the only thing that was ok.
Emily M — Google review
I feel like no one chooses to eat here it's just by the McKinley. I wish I would've went to other spots nearby but they had the fire pits outside and such which was nice. My fish and chips were super greasy which sucked. I know it's fried but it felt super heavy and oily. Our waiter was young and nice but the service was just ok sadly.

Karstens Public House was an experience worth coming back for. Dined in for dinner with a big party and we're seated with amazing service from Brice definitely 5/5. Great atmosphere and vibes around the restaurant. Started off with the shrimp plate appetizer which I didn't care for, shrimp was really blan and the sauce wasn't too good 1.5/5. Shared a couple of the chicken tenders appetizer and loved it, great breading and honey mustard 4.5/5. Enjoyed a brisket sandwich for my entrée and thought it was amazing 4.5/5. The stroop waffle cheesecake was phenomenal one of the best desserts I've ever had 5/5. Pretty sweet place in a nice location would definitely return.

Our server was unhappy, tired, not sure if she wanted to be there. Prawns were average, nothing special. Bread pudding was nice though! Got it with vanilla ice cream.
Anchalee W — Google review
For the price our family paid, the experience was disappointing. I asked twice for orange juice and both times got watery, flavorless liquid. We requested gluten-free bread, which was never delivered. Staff were unfriendly, and I felt mocked for asking for a proper glass. The buffet was poor—limited and low quality. The only remedy was a bottle of Minute Maid. It felt like they just wanted us in, out, and cashed out.

I have visited Kartens twice now. The first time was in 2018. And on that first visit I had their carrot cake. I am a huge fan of carrot cake but I am very descriminate. It has to be good. Well let me tell you, Karstens has THE BEST CARROT CAKE I have ever had. I left Denali in 2018 happy and disappointed. I found the best carrot cake in the world but I would likely never return and have it again. For the next 5 years I compared all carrot cakes to Karstens and all came up short. After a time I started to second guess myself. There is no way it was that good. My memory must have inflated how good it was over time due to nostalgia. Well we returned 5 years later, with my kids this time, and I had to put it to the test. I had told them all about how amazing this carrot cake was. And I was worried. Was it really that good? And would if it was would it still be as good as it was then? Had I set expectations for my family too high? Would they be disappointed. So the moment of truth came. I was served a beautiful slice. It looked amazing. It smelled amazing... And it tasted AMAZING!!! It was just as good as I remembered. Still the best dang carrot cake in the world. So if ever in Denali, make sure you go to Karstens and save room for dessert because you had better order the carrot cake.

Panorama Pizza Pub is a hidden gem that serves amazing pizza and offers a good selection of draft beers. Despite being located in a remote area, they go all out to provide top-notch food and beverages. The crust is freshly made and crispy, while the sauce is flavorful and robust. The smoked chicken is particularly outstanding. With a cozy atmosphere, this local spot also offers an array of local brews on tap.
It’s our first time in Alaska and after a long day of threading in the snow, some pizza sounded it like it taste delicious and it most definitely was! We ordered: Twisted breadsticks: warm, crispy, and tasted amazing with the marinara sauce. Banh Minh: This was surprisingly pretty solid as it tasted similar to a veggie banh minh we ordered. It was like eating a banh minh sandwich in pizza form so it was really well done. Forrest: This was a fantastic dish and all of the flavors came together really well - especially the combination of baked mushrooms and soft melted goat cheese. This was my personal favorite and even ate it the next day as left over. Dirty hippie: this was alright as most of us didn’t enjoy it much but it was decent. Overall, this was a great pizza location in Alaska and we were pleased and satisfied.

It’s a fun bar with simple bar food. Pizza and wings. Bob, the bartender is awesome. Love the casual rustic decor with $1 bills stapled to the walls. Is casual Alaska! Great option to get a to-go basic pizza if the places next door are too crowded! VictorB

This was the best pizza we have ever had. The base was thick, herby and crispy, unlike anything we have ever had before. I wish all pizza had this style of base. Service was fabulous, our waiter was super friendly. We had the large smoked and baked pizza which fed four of us as it was huge. Had the cookie for dessert which was good too. Highly recommend if you are ever in Denali.

Hot dog restaurant
Denali Doghouse is a casual, self-serve restaurant known for its classic hot dogs and hamburgers with a variety of toppings. It's an affordable option for lunch or dinner in the area. The place has limited seating, so you might have to enjoy your meal on the porch. Visitors love the food and the overall theme and vibe of the place, with some recommending trying their reindeer chili dog or all-beef kids dog.
We loved the Denali Doghouse. From the food to the theme and vibe. It was all exceptional. Great customer service as well. Worth stopping for a quick bite if you’re in Healy. The corn dog here was awesome. The meat does have reindeer in it, but it’s not really noticeable and doesn’t taste “gamey” like you may expect.

Nice fast food off Park Highway and across from the major “hotels” and cabins outside of Denali NP. I ordered the Sled Dog with bacon and jalapeno…great choice! The Denali dog is your regular hotdog. The hotdogs are made with buffalo, pork and beef. All made in Alaska.
RunCrz R — Google review
Popular spot for a quick bite to eat. I’m not adventurous with meat types so I got the all beef kids dog instead, which was ok. The rest of my party enjoyed their Denali dogs and said they tasted like a normal hotdog, just thicker. The fries are crispy and fresh! Definitely get a side of them with your dog! The place is small so seating is very limited. We had to sit outside on the porch to eat.

Super yummy and cute little place. Lots of fun pictures. Their syrup in their sodas are super strong, definitely just take water or their tea. Chili dog was amazing, made with 1/4 reindeer dog. Husband got the Sriracha burger, it was really good. Preferred the burger over the dog too.

Fannie Q's Saloon at Denali Princess Lodge is a modern saloon named after the legendary Alaskan prospector, Fannie Quigley. The restaurant offers a variety of locally-inspired dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in both indoor and outdoor seating areas with live entertainment. Menu highlights include Bison Sliders, Braised Pork Shoulder, and the famous Bear-Lard Pie.
The Denali Princess Lodge is well spread out but Wow ❣️ we ate here at Fannie Q's Saloon the second night of our Denali Alaska tour. Wow everything was phenomenal from the hostess, the drinks, and the food. Mom and I split the ribeye sandwich and the salmon burger. Both were amazing tasting hot and fresh ❣️ We really enjoyed the gentleman playing the old up right piano. And look up at all the racks hanging from the ceiling what a great night of laughter and jokes with friends and family. Don't forget to read about Fanny Q a very interesting woman ❣️

The food was delicious. The pork was extremely tender. Really good flavor! It was not like I had before. Both of my kids said what they had was very good also. We all had the Lava cake with Huckleberry ice cream. Delicious. Our server paid way more attention to the table that came in after us. We had to catch him for a drink refill. He got several for them. He got their dessert orders and still ignored us. We caught him to get a dessert, and they were done and leaving before we even got ours. We had to get to an excursion, and prompt service would have been great.

This buffet was truly a feast of delectable items, with something for everyone. The service was friendly and efficient. We could give more stars if we liked the way that some of what we chose to eat was cooked better. Fruit was grapes (a little sour), oranges, apples, and I was thankful for the bananas, which were not over ripe & which we like. Oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs were available. We did not eat the oatmeal, but the biscuits were dry and needed the gravy which was good. The scrambled eggs were over cooked and the last in the pan. Bacon and pork sausage were good, and we did not try the caribou sausage. Pancakes looked good, and several syrups and toppings were offered. Three types of cereal were offered near the plain yogurt with cut up melons. At least two types of bread were available for toasting, and we liked the sourdough bread. The place is very nice and we liked the decor. If we try it for dinner, I’ll edit this review or add another.

This is a resturant at the Denali lodge run by princess. It was my least favorate meal on our vacation in Alaska. The food was mediocre, the service was the same. It felt as if it could be wrong, it happened at this place. The best part of this resturant was the bar service area and the fire pits outside. no complaints with that. My biggest issue was with the meal. I ordered fish and chips which were just ok, the bigest challenge is you want somthing nice as a dipping sauce for it. The only options were Ketchup or Lemon aioli. Nothing else. I asked the waiter several times to ask the chef but nothing. the tater tots were good as an app with all the toppings on them but sucked with the meal as a side. Sorry to sad to take photos. Nice piano playing in the backround from 7 till 9.

Late Post Aug 23’ Fanny Quigley was an American pioneer, prospector and cook during the Klondike Gold Rush. She lived in the wilderness of what is now Denali National Park and Preserve. The restaurant was ordinary, they just added a name! We arrived during prime time, had to sit on high chairs at the bar but all worked out since we didn’t have to wait long. The menu could’ve been more eclectic but was very American traditional; cheesesteak sando, friend chicken sando, cobb salad of course what’s Alaska without fresh fish! There is a full bar and entertainment which was finishing up when we got there. They do have outdoor firepit but it was gas, you can smell it which gave me a minor headache. The service was good, food mediocre, interior nicely decorated, entertainment fun for the last 5 mins. I only wish the food was traditional – sourdough, beans, pierogi with the Russian migration. Etc etc…

Fannie Q's is one of the "on resort" restaurants at the Princess Lodge. On the day we went, the restaurant was not filled to capacity and we could get a table right away. The ambience is "Western saloon", and a live singer / pianist was playing. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was alright. I wouldn't say the flavor was special, just average.

Great place must stop. Beer was fantastic. Food was some of the best we've had in Alaska. We've been here for over a month. The buffalo meatloaf is a must. Do Nigel or server was a great young man. Nigel, our server was a great young man
Rob B — Google review
Food was pretty good but way overpriced, but that could simply be due to the area. It’s about 15-20min from Denali NP, has a great outdoor space (fire pit, darts, etc) and a large indoor space. However, no AC indoors which was quite uncomfortable to eat in especially after a long day of hiking. Ordered the halibut with fries and added 1 extra fish for $34, they weren’t very big and a bit dry. I’ve had fish and chips in NYC and it isn’t even this expensive. Also ordered yak burger ($34) which was good but the pretzel bread was hard and dry as well, not a fan. Our server was friendly and attentive.

On vacation at denali and thought we would drive out of town to get dinner. Not enough can be said about everything we experienced there. For starters we got to sit around the gorgeous warm fireplace and we had the most amazing waiter, zach. He was knowledgeable about all menu items and made some great suggestions. We had the salmon and the yak burger and everything was cooked to perfection. I got to do a soda flight which is something i have never seen before. It's definitely worth the little drive from the park not to mention it's a beautiful drive.

We stopped by for lunch on a Friday on our way to Denali and are glad we did! Restaurant was very tidy and staff was super polite. We had the Mexican Street Corn dip appetizer and it was very delicious, chips tasted homemade. The Alaska Salmon BLT was big and delicious, the Salmon was very flavorful. The Grilled Steak and Bacon Mac and Cheese was amazing! Nice portion size and full of flavor. The King Crabby Grilled Cheese was indescribably delicious, bread was great, filling was amazing and fries were fabulous as well. The Sleeping Lady burger was a solid all around basic burger, perfectly cooked on a flavorful bun. We’ll define back!

Great place, about 15 mins from Denali National Park Visitor center. The Yak and Elk burger were excellent. Just that the yak burger has an overload of onions, pickles and cheese that they all overpower the taste from the meat. I would order those extras as side order to enjoy the yak meat. Great selection of beers, great ambience and courteous staff:

The shrimp linguine is described as absolutely delicious with big and tender shrimp in a fresh, garlicky sauce. For those without a car, taking a tour with Black Diamond Tour Co., which includes dinner at the restaurant, is suggested.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service at a very reasonable price! Dining at this place was a pleasant surprise.. Wonderful surprise here after leaving a horrible establishment that we walked into right outside Danali Park. So close to the park, everyone should come here instead. Prices reasonable for Alaska. Service and food was hands down spectacular. I had the salmon and capers linguine. My wife had the shrimp linguine with artichokes. One of our boys got the cheeseburger. The other got the chicken alfredo. I really liked the salmon Linguini and my wife really enjoyed her artichoke and shrimp dish. You got to get the wedge blue cheese salad with the entrees that's included. Gabrielle was our server. She was super punctual and courteous. Shasha also served us and was great! Shame are portions were so big cuz the desert looked great too. One of our neighboring tablesl got some nachos that were Alaska sized. They has a special for a tomahawk prime rib that I saw another neighbor table order, it was huge! Wish we had more time at Denali, so we could also eat here again!

The King Salmon restaurant at Denali Princess Lodge offers a divine dining experience with top-notch service and delicious food. The menu features a variety of delectable dishes including coconut battered halibut, salmon chowder, salmon fillet, prime rib, and pasta. Guests can also enjoy appetizers like Roasted Pear and Bacon Flatbread and Seared Scallop Caprese.
The food was delicious! We had a wait but the staff made that go by fast by giving our kids the menus to color on and wiki sticks to entertain themselves. (The wait was less than quoted by almost 20 minutes!) Love that the kids menu had salmon ✅. Highly recommend the seafood dip and the pine nut linguine with salmon. Dessert looked incredible but we were stuffed! The only downside is the price but it’s on par for the type of food. And it was less expensive than other similar restaurants in the area.

Nice restaurant, very beautiful inside and out. Three stars for food because the prime rib ordered as 'medium' was overdone and a bit tough. Then again, this is a fish restaurant not a steakhouse. Breakfast was good. Highly recommend making a reservation for dinner.

Appetizer, The Roasted Pear and Bacon Flatbread was delicious and a good sized portion at about 9 inches. Seared Scallop Caprese were very well cooked and delicious. Main Asiago-Crusted Alaskan Halibut and Sea Salt Accented Salmon, both with risotto were generous portions and well prepared. My wife commented the brocolinni was too salty. Dessert blue berry bread pudding with bumbleberry ice cream was a huge portion, very tasty. Apple crisp was a good portion and good flavour. Overall great experience. Our server Landon was very attentive and helpful in directing us for the best experience.

Late Post Aug 23’ The King Salmon Restaurant requires a reservation so, I would suggest as soon as you arrive decide on an evening that you and your family/group want to dress up a bit (but don’t have to) and splurge then, reserve the table asap. The fam and I decided on a 3-course meal since it was our last evening here. I ordered the Coconut Crusted Halibut with Apricot Chutney, Prime Rib with Seasonal Vegetables and Potatoes and for dessert since I was so full my partner and I decided to share a Warm Apple Crisp and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Let’s break it down… Coconut Crusted Halibut – Served with arugula, single spinach leaf under the chutney. The flavor was very sweet mixing the coconut and chutney didn’t pair entirely well. Since arugula has a peppery taste, it was supposed to offset the sweetness, I just feel this dish was missing something, a balsamic vinaigrette or chutney could’ve been a bit more savory? 2/5 Slow Roasted Prime Rib – Veggies and Potatoes mehhh cooked well but nothing to brag about… the prime rib tho was soooo damn good! Au jus not to salty and great creamy horseradish 4/5 Apple Crisp – The flavor wasn’t too bad on the crisp, TBH – Don’t remember only had one bite since I was sooo full! 3/5 Seared Scallop Caprese – (Partners App choice) This was delightful, scallops fresh and overall, the dish was well prepared. You should eat it all in one bite although, ok for example cut the scallop in half, grab a piece of cherry tomato, schmear a bit of balsamic, throw it in your mouth and toss in the ball of goat cheese! It was very good, although now that I think about it why didn’t they use mozz instead of goat cheese, I love goat cheese tho, my partner not very much…. 4/5

Visiting Denali and staying at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge (different review). The King Salmon Restaurant was good. Ask for a table with a view! Started with the Blueberry Mojito. The first one had way too much ice and not enough drink. The second one, I asked for less ice and it was much better. Needed more blueberries. I had the Green salad - it was good but a bit sweet. Too many craisins and the lingonberry dressing was sweet. But it was good. My daughter had the Caesar salad - the dressing was very garlicky (which we like). Had the Crab, shrimp and fish dip - it was good but had big chunks of seafood. I actually think it would have been better a little more blended so the flavors had a chance to meld. I had the Scallop and Goat Cheese “Caprese” (see photo). The scallops were very good, but I couldn’t call it Caprese. My daughter got the Salmon Chowder which was good. The service was good. A bit pricey.

Overall experience at this restaurant was great starting with service and ending with the food. We ordered appetiser coconut crusted halibut , for main dish - Sea Salt Accented King Salmon and white wine . Our desert was apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Everything mentioned above tested delicious.

Pizza restaurant
Lynx Creek Pizza is a lodge-based eatery located in Denali, offering a rustic dining experience with a menu featuring signature pies, salads, sandwiches, and ice cream. The restaurant is housed in a cozy log cabin and provides a no-frills atmosphere for visitors to enjoy. While they offer a variety of pizzas to choose from, many patrons prefer to create their own custom pie with options like marinara, mozzarella, and artichoke hearts.
The cheese breadsticks were the best!! Adding grilled chicken to the caesar salad was just the way I like my chicken! The pizza crust was tasty and softer than it looked, so it was good!
Toni O — Google review
They just opened for the season so hopefully they'll work the kinks out, but this is a pretty sad sliver of chicken on my 20$ sandwich. Would be better off going across the street to subway, this thing was barely an appetizer it was so small smh. Also maybe turn your music down a little so your staff can hear their customers
Joe P — Google review
Not much to say about this place. We at here instead of one of the places across the highway (that had zero seating, and it was raining). There is no table service here, you place an order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. Pizza slices in the heater at the counter were already old by 1pm and tasted the same. The slices were not reheated in the oven, just pulled out of the display and brought out. I had hoped for a hot slice, but no dice. The $16 slice/salad/drink is your best option, but only if the slices are in ok condition. WYSIWYG! A hot sub was also ordered with our meal, but took almost 20 minutes to come out and after everyone else had eaten. The restaurant was NOT busy, so there is no excuse. One of the least impressive meals I ate during the 2 weeks I was in Alaska.
Matt K — Google review
This review is strictly about the bar service—not the pizza. I want to make that distinction upfront because the food side of this establishment has nothing to do with what I experienced. Now, let’s talk about the bartender working the second shift. He’s a large white man who goes by the name “Tiny,” and from what I’ve gathered, he’s been working there for over two years. Unfortunately, that experience hasn’t translated into quality service. To put it plainly, Tiny is the worst bartender I’ve ever encountered. He doesn’t know how to make basic cocktails—couldn’t get a Long Island right, and didn’t even know how to make an Old Fashioned. But what’s worse than the drinks is the attitude. He’s consistently rude, especially toward employees and J-1 students. I’ve seen it firsthand and heard similar stories from others. What really crossed the line was his behavior around tipping. He actively approaches guests to ask why they didn’t tip him, sometimes even pressuring them. I experienced this myself—after receiving a poorly made drink, I returned the next day with friends for a get-together. Tiny came up to me and said, “Oh, you didn’t like the drink? Why didn’t you tip me? You need to give me a tip,” in a way that felt aggressive and inappropriate. I’ve heard this same story from multiple people, especially J-1s and minorities. It’s not just me. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was uncalled for and deeply unprofessional.

Decent pizza! We went here because we couldn’t wait for the other place across the street. There’s a fantastic picnic table seating area out back that we loved. Pepperoni pizza was the best, all the others were just ok. But good enough for a quick vacation dinner! Friendly service.
Dane S — Google review
3.5/5 Late Post Aug 23' As busy as they were, I really wasn't impressed with the food. The pizza was mixed of regular and thin crust. My partner and the in-laws are New Yorkers, yes, they like it thin but I'm a California girl that grew up with all kinds of crusts, Ny style, super thin crust, Chicago style, Sicilian, pizza hut, dominos I enjoy a variety but it has to be good! This particular joint was ok, typical of something we make at home which meant the ingredients should have been the highlight, it wasn't but the service was really good and the prices worth the area.
Tawny V — Google review
Their pizza is very tasty and they have good vegetarian options, and free drink refills. They have gluten free crust available by request, but as they warned (which I appreciate) there is a high risk of cross contamination in their kitchen (can confirm, got glutened). Would not recommend if you have a gluten allergy, celiacs, or severe gluten intolerance. Overall atmosphere is good, but the women's room has the smallest stalls I've ever been in, I'm 5'2" and my knees almost touched the door while on the toilet and the only way to stand in the stall space was with my feet under the stall door. The accessible stall looked standard sized.
L. S — Google review
Our tour bus driver (Red Robin) told us we need to eat at this joint. Being in Denali two days with Princess we had time. After hiking the Horseshoe Lake trail we stopped in with 10 people in our Group. Ordering was easy at the counter. Since the place is named Lynx Creek PIZZA, we ordered pizzas, cheese sticks, and wings. All of it was delicious. We had to order extra because the kids ate so much. There are expectations that food at a remote resort might lack but it was truly delicious. Give it a shot if you have time while traveling through.

Prey Pub & Eatery is a cozy dining spot conveniently located near the Parks Highway and situated in front of the Denali Cabins property. The menu features classic dishes, a well-stocked bar, and attentive service. Guests rave about the mouthwatering Rib eye and recommend visiting for a pleasant dining experience. Despite a smaller end-of-season menu, visitors enjoy satisfying meals like the half house salad, beast burger with sweet potato fries, and Alaskan salmon.
Had some amazing venison chili here last night. We just stumbled along this place while doing a jeep tour and were we impressed. One of the best meals we’ve had in alaska. I highly recommend the barley cornbread, but look out as it’s sweet. Will definitely come back here.
Andrew C — Google review
Smash burger was well cooked and seasoned. The chilli was a little watery and slightly under seasoned for my preference. The wings were not smoked but fried with a really good coating and served with a lot of ranch / bleu cheese.
J M — Google review
Nothing is better after a long day in Denali to come here to enjoy a warm meal and cold beer. Very cozy atmosphere with nice servers! So nice to eat and then walk back to your room. Would highly recommend!
Hannah G — Google review
Very nice menu, good service. The food is less than mediocre. Venison chili is watery and unflavorful, crab hush puppies are decent but only a few, salmon is dry potato burned and the corn is clearly frozen because it was cold. Toor a long time. Everything was lukewarm except the prices. Glass of wine is $14 but doubt it was more then 3oz. I would absolutely not come back.

Being a vegetarian, the only dish I could have was vegan and it wasn't even edible. My family enjoyed their non veg dishes though. We had the corn bread later and that was a saving grace for my appetite

Nestled in the Alaskan wilderness, Canyon Steakhouse at McKinley Chalet Resort offers a fine dining experience with a variety of steak entrees, appetizers, desserts, and an impressive selection of local wines, microbrews, and liquors. Guests rave about the delicious steaks, burgers, and desserts. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity but walk-ins can often find seating at the bar area. The service is highly praised for its attentiveness and friendly demeanor.
The steaks were awesome! The service was great, even though they were slammed. We had breakfast the next day and the omelets were awesome! Good job

The steakhouse was located very close to the lobby! The portions were average size but the atmosphere was nice. However the rib-eye was kinda strange in that it was simply a piece of meat with nothing else.
Matt L — Google review
This was the first full week of the season so trying to give some grace as they work out their rhythms. The waiter was nice enough however I was not told about the specials (I overheard another waiter share them with his table after I had ordered) and felt rushed to order, like I was inconvenience. For how pricey the menu was I was expecting a more upscale experience, most people were in jeans, as well as decor, it felt very dated - so that leads me to conclude it’s expensive just because they’ve got you there as a captive audience. The food was good, I loved the plating of the halibut but it was way too salty.
Beth W — Google review
The food was excellent. I had the Rockfish dinner with smashed potatoes and carrots cooked to perfection. The bacon wrapped scallops had me making happy noises and tapping my feet. The Apple pie almost brought years to my eyes it was that delicious. The bang bang shrimp was phenomenal. The service had us feeling like V.I.P.'s. The view outside is breathtaking.

I love steak dinners and I have high standards. Both the bone-in ribeye asparagus were cooked perfectly and delicious. Normally I avoid this area like the plague because it's a tourist trap, but this was well worth it.
Dan M — Google review
Rockfish, and bacon wrapped scallops were quite good. Apple tart dessert was also great. However where this establishment is lacking is the service and atmosphere, especially when you see the prices of the food. In my opinion, the prices are not justified for the mediocre service and overall atmosphere. Also is too noisy and bustling. Definitely room for improvement.
J’s L — Google review
We started w the Wedge salad and french onion soup. Both were large servings and tasty. Three of us had the Beef tenderloin (filet), two had the Braised Ribs and one had the Pork chop. All was fall-off-the-bone fantastic!! For dessert it was four bread puddings, one mud pie and one berry tart. Our only criticism is warm the bread pudding!!! Two bottles of red nicely rounded out this highly recommended meal. Make a reservation!!

Reserve ahead during summers, this place can get booked super fast. We grabbed an outdoor seating because the weather was good, but the bar area seemed the coziest with good ambience. The burger and the salmon bisque were great! The drinks were amazing - we got arctic coffee, berry crush mule, & they were great. Apple pie with ice cream was good. Our waitress Danijela was amazing to converse with & gave us good tips about travel in AK. Highly recommend!

Bar & grill
During my adventures in Alaska, I discovered a gem known as The Mountaineer Grill & Bar, nestled within the Denali Bluffs Hotel. This delightful spot serves breakfast and dinner throughout the summer season, making it a perfect pit stop for travelers exploring Denali National Park. Breakfast options are hearty and nutritious, designed to fuel your day of adventure.
This place is outstanding. The service was top notch and everything our family ordered was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve ever had. Same for the coconut shrimp. The bbq sauce on the wings was outstanding. Pasta, burgers, also great. I hope I’m not overselling it but we had a great experience and we weren’t even staying at the hotel. It was very comfortable in a place that doesn’t offer a lot of comfort.
Andy P — Google review
A complete ripoff! $30 plus tax and tips per person for a standard breakfast buffet. What a terribly exploitative move. Yes it’s a remote town and you may be the only option for folks staying here (many in a rush, with tours scheduled) for breakfast, but it’s just such a pity how blatantly greedy this upcharge is. Additionally, the normal menu items are also very overpriced and taste just ok

Enjoyed two nights at Buffalo Lodge. The best part of our stay was taking in the atmosphere at the Bar and grill was fantastic. Service provided by staff and others was very inviting. Special thanks to Ava and Fernando who were ever so accommodating and friendly Food on offer was very tasty and filling.
Peter S — Google review
Fernando was lovely and attentive as were the other staff. Food was delicious—I highly recommend the Brussels and the Spinach dip. Both were the best I’ve had in a very long time. The only thing that would make their delicious, juicy, smoked wings better is if they made their ranch in house. Cozy atmosphere

We were a little hesitant after reading the reviews here. We were staying on site which is the primary reason to eat here. Service was awfully slow. Took almost 20 minutes for our waiter to come over and bring us waters. Food was surprisingly good. We had appetizers - coconut shrimp which was very good and spinach artichoke dip which was a little “spinach forward” but very good. Excellent drink menu including many local-ish beers on tap. You could eat here. It would leave you full! Views are stunning!

We had the Salmon Corn Chowder and Fried Brussel Sprouts. The Brussel Sprouts were amazing! The soup was good, very well done and spiced well. A tad bit fishy but good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive

Rose's Cafe is a charming and character-filled diner in Healy that offers a warm and homey atmosphere. The cafe has a rich family history, with the owner sharing the story of how it came into their hands. The breakfast menu features delicious options like homemade cinnamon buns and country fried steak with eggs and hashbrowns. Guests can enjoy the cozy ambiance adorned with framed quotations while savoring fresh, made-to-order food served by friendly staff.
When you want a traditional American breakfast, this is your place. Roses Cafe is a cute dinner in Healy, AK. The veggie omelette was good with a sourdough toast and I topped mine with their homemade sauce. The pancake was huge! 🥞 The service is very friendly. We felt like having breakfast at auntie.

Best breakfast place! Definitely will go back. This hometown restaurant was a perfect place for our family of 9. The servings were large portions and so satisfying. A GREAT find! Breakfast was awesome and the sour dough cinnamon roll was homemade ❤️❤️❤️ better than any franchise…. A must visit for a real homemade meal. The service was awesome and very welcoming. Thank you Rose’s Cafe, you made our last meal in Denali the best! If you want a good homemade, large portioned, meal with great prices …stop here !!

Great American diner. Food fabulous. I'll never get used to being asked so many questions about my breakfast, everything is optional. When you are used to either a full or a mini breakfast, with no options, the 20 questions is quite an ordeal. I'm not used to choice, and having to think in the morning. So it's eggs sunny side up, linked sausages and french toast, all choices I wouldn't get at home. I'll find out when they open in the morning, we'll come back.

An absolute hole in the wall! This place is one of the best comfort food restaurants I’ve ever been to. I got the Healy special and my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak. I opted for pancake instead of hashbrown/toast and it was MASSIVE. Everything was hot, delicious and service was friendly and quick. The whole place was full but service never slowed down. Ladies here are very friendly as well.

While staying in Healy (overnight) at Aurora Denali Lodge, we got the chance to eat at this cafe (not just once but twice, dinner and breakfast). The place is full of character, charm, and story to tell. I so love the simplicity of the place and the unexpected framed and funny quotations all over. So this place is usually filled during summertime, but in winter, when visited, we had the place to ourselves (tour group). We had so much fun (and laughter) dining at this place where we had great interaction with the owners and staff who are vivaciously funny. The breakfast menu is outstanding and has a big portion. I love the french toast. You got to love family owned diner that is being managed, tended, and served by the owners themselves. That in itself make eveything personal and special.

New American restaurant
If you're visiting Denali, make sure to visit The Overlook for a memorable dining experience. Although reaching the restaurant may be a bit challenging due to an uphill gravel path, the stunning view and lovely atmosphere make it worth the effort. The menu is somewhat limited, but the dishes such as reindeer stew, salmon, curried Alaskan halibut, and yak tenderloin are highly recommended. Don't miss out on their delightful baked Alaska for dessert.
We ate at this place called the Overlook which had beautiful views of the Denali National Park mountains. It sits on top of the crows nest resort. Kicked things off with an IPA, and then the appetizers were all great. The first was the Focaccia with alaskan sea salt, it was airy and soft. And came with a whipped ricotta spread that was light and sweet from the honey. They actually hook it up with the ratio of ricotta for the amount of bread you get. The king crab Rangoons were creamy and had the sweetness of the crab actually noticeable in the bite. The Smoked Salmon dip was very generous with the Alaskan salmon portion, the ritz crackers went surprisingly well with the smoky salmon, but I think they set the bar for themselves where they should’ve been homemade crackers. One of their signature dishes is the Alaskan Halibut Steak that comes with a homemade tartar sauce, whipped potatoes, and carrots. The tartar sauce added a tangy rich flavor to the halibut. The coffee was underwhelming, but the dessert certainly wasn’t. The thing to get is the baked Alaska that is a brownie with moose tracks ice cream encased in meringue flambeed tableside.
SERGELATO — Google review
We ate outside and loved the views. The food was very good when it arrived but our service was not great. The strawberry mojito was great! We waited over 20 minutes and had to ask the host for our server to even come to our table and then the server brought 3 waters and 3 rolls of silverware for our table of 4 and took another 15 minutes for our last person to get their water. When our food arrived, one person received their chowder without a spoon and asked for a spoon and one was never brought so after 15 minutes we had to ask the host for one. Another person only received part of their meal and someone else was brought out the wrong dish. It took over 20 minutes for the last 2 people to get their meals. We were given free desserts due to the long wait and poor service. The baked Alaska was great! Our plates and silverware was already cleared, so we asked for silverware for our dessert and never received it, so we had to go up and ask. Hoping that this was an off night for the service.
Jenna K — Google review
Both the salmon and halibut were delicious. I had the curry halibut, and while the rice & curry was kinda bland, the fish itself was fantastic. I wouldn't order the focaccia again.
H J — Google review
It's possible we ate on a bad night. During our appetizer course, the bread was stale, so that gave us a bit of concern. The fillet was much tougher than it should have been at medium rare. The fries and mashed potatoes were grossly under seasoned and the halibut steak had very little flavor. We had planned on dessert, but decided not to push it any further and just left. It certainly didn't taste like a $100+ meal for two. The atmosphere and service were amazing however. The view is fantastic, as would be expected.

What a hike up the hill, but worth it. Beautifully decorated restaurant. Our food was good once we got it, they forgot to fix my husband’s salmon. It took over 1 1/2 hours. They did give us a discount for our wait.

Dessert will be well earned once you hike up. The road up is a little easier than the stairs. The view is awesome. The burger was as good as promised by the guide of the nearby river water adventure place.

Loved it. Delicious food with a very kind and helpful staff. We had a variety of options that were all good Definitely try the bread and crab dip for an appetizer. The calamari we well prepared, fresh, and tender and it had a delicious cilantro sauce with it. I usually prefer cocktail sauce but it was better with the prepared sauce. There was no rush to get us off of the table when we were finished. Thanks for a nice meal.

I didn’t actually stay in the hotel but I did have dinner with friends at the pub. The bartender was really friendly and informative letting us know all about local beers to try. We had a great time and when we left I accidentally forgot my digital camera. I left the next day and wasn’t able to make contact with anyone in the pub because it was closed until the afternoon. I flew back to Canada and called the Totem Inn and they were so so helpful. I spoke with a woman named Lisa who sorted the whole things for me. She shipped my camera free of charge and was so kind through the whole stressful process. Thank you so much Lisa.

Exceeded all expectations! We stayed here in early December. The room was spacious, clean, warm, and comfortable. Amenities include an endless pool that works amazingly well. No hot tub, but there's a tiny yet very effective sauna in the fitness room. Dark skies all around so should be easy to see the aurora. Bobby(?) at reception was super friendly and gave us a wealth of information. Bar/restaurant also super good :)

Rooms and location were great. We stayed this past week when it was in the 80s. They had ac window units in each room but could not use them because they needed a special adapter plug to plug them into the outlet. They said that they already winterized them or something. We had stayed from 7/22/24 to 7/25/24. This was the only hotel that didn't have air conditioning during our whole trip!! They did have floor fans and a window that did open halfway and it was still super hot in the room!! This place is opened year round!! So do better when there is a heat wave during the summer season!!

Hotel staff were super sweet and helped us in any way they could (we were part of a big tour group, so it couldn't have been easy!). When we departed, I didn't realize I had left behind my very precious stuffed animal until we were already 3hrs away on a train. Grizzly Burger is a popular spot with a mixed bag of reviews. While some visitors raved about the tasty food and great service, others were put off by long wait times and issues with their orders. The menu features a variety of burgers, including handmade veggie options and classic cheeseburgers. The fries are particularly praised for their crispiness, and there's even ranch for dipping. However, some diners experienced stomach troubles after their meal.
We stopped by Grizzly Burger for a casual dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The burgers were juicy, the salad was fresh, and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Great views from the patio, friendly staff, and quick service even during peak hours. Definitely worth visiting!

Fir the name. They only offered one hamburger for 17 bucks, add cheese more, add bacon more. Hamburger was gross regardless of what you did to it. Fries where over cooked or seemed to be refried as to warm them up. Waitress didn't clear table at all till we were leaving! Great view, great look inside, but definitely better places to eat.

The views (especially on the patio) are worth eating at least once at this restaurant during your visit to Denali! I had vegetarian burger and it turned out to be very decent, and definitely surpassed what I was expecting from a restaurant in such a remote town. Service was fast and courteous.

Really good food and wonderful friendly service! We ordered the cheese curds, a cheese burger and a couple of the cocktails. All were made really well. I am not usually a fan of crinkle-cut fries, but the crispness and seasoning of these was spot on, as were the cheese curds. The curds were coated with some seasonings in the batter, and paired with a jalapeño jelly, which was an interesting pairing, but kind of a neat twist. The outdoor atmosphere was lovely, and if you sit right next to the rail, you can sit and watch the river race by below. Beautiful views from the balcony.

Bar & grill
Nestled within the Denali Park Village resort, Gold Rush Dining Room is a popular eatery offering a variety of dining options. Guests can indulge in two breakfast buffet choices and a dinner buffet featuring an array of delectable dishes such as carved prime rib, Alaskan catch of the day, soups, mac & cheese, and a full salad bar. The restaurant boasts excellent service and an inviting ambiance with unique table setups.
Our NCL tour had us staying at the Grizzly Bear Hotel and at the recommendation of our tour bus driver, we decided to walk over to Denali Park village. We looked at the menu for the Gold Rush and we were seated immediately. The dinner rolls with maple butter were very good and we also ordered the warm salmon /Seafood Dip with toasted baguette slices. The dip was good but we've had better. There were small pieces of salmon but it had more of a fish flavor then salmon. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and fries and was very satisfied with it. Even though it was the priciest option, I felt like trying the Halibut entree. It was a very generous sized portion, lightly macadamia nut crusted, very thick and cooked to perfection! The flesh was tender and tasty. There was a small dab of pineapple mint butter on top that was a very nice touch, although I did not pick up the mint. It came on a bed of coconut flavored rice that was quite delicious. Just a hint of coconut flavor to the steamed rice made it perfect! It was accompanied by grilled sliced zucchini and squash, which was just slightly overcooked for me. The halibut was generously sized and quite tasty! The Huckleberry cocktail was also very tasty and not super sweet which was great! Our server Mason was really fantastic! He was efficient with refills and ordering and was very personable. We would definitely go back if we were staying another night!

The crunchy baguette 🥖, was delicious. I Had to have steak 🥩 - and it was done perfectly, tender and to the point! The seafood dip WOW 10 ⭐️!! My wife order a Ceasar salad 🥗 with salmon! Really good!

Very delicious food. We got seafood chowder, Caesar salad with grilled sockeye, halibut with coconut rice. The food and the service were excellent. Just a little pricey

The place has a nice varied menu and prices are in par with the area. Nothing is cheap around here. Two of us chose the burger made with a meat blend that included wild boar. We were informed that the meat had to be cooked to well done because of the boar meat. The service was very slow. When our meal came the burgers were cooked to medium at best. Plenty of pink! Didn't see our server till we were nearly done. At this point we just finished the meal. It was hot and tasted good. Drink refills were offered way too late into the meal. Yes they were busy, but other tables around us were being served with more attention.

Writing this to give Gold Rush the positive bump it deserves. After a long travel day, we were hesitant to eat here—especially after seeing some of the negative reviews—but our expectations were exceeded. It’s possible this place gets slammed at times, which might explain some of the mixed feedback, but our experience was great. The cocktails were well made, the food came out hot, and while a few dishes could use a bit of fine-tuning, everything was tasty overall. Servers were excellent - friendly and attentive! Glad we gave it a shot.

Quick lunch before tour at Denali National Park. McKinley burger was excellent and fries were good. Madison was excellent server. A little pricey at $27 with cheese but I guess the location dictates.

Review for the coffee bar attached to the restaurant: Muffins were stale. Portion sizes tiny for the price. Apple Crisp Cup was just all fake, sugary cream rather than yoghurt or fresh cream, making this too sweet and not enjoyable. There's no competition here, and as Cruise ships load their passengers on land tours into tgis property, they have no incentive to be better.or provide any value for money..

Morino Grill is a cafeteria-style eatery located in a lodge setting adjacent to the Visitor Center. It offers American comfort food such as burgers, paninis, and hearty soups. The grill also features a barista stand serving coffee and espresso drinks. While some visitors found the fish and chips below average, others enjoyed made-to-order items like burgers, fish and chips, chowder, and beef stew. The establishment also provides vegetarian options and serves Starbucks coffee at an on-site shop.
The grill is closed but the building is open for the visitor to use the flash toilet, warm water from the sink, drinking water fountain, picnic table and chairs,... Such a natural lit and warm place to take a break.

We had a cheeseburger and chicken tenders. Cafeteria style pickup and checkout. Convenient location in Denali park. Staff was friendly, beautiful scenery, clean dinning area. Pricey for what it is but I guess that’s expected being in an Alaskan national park. Returning again for our second lunch today.

Sad Aramark cafeteria food that is prob twice as much it should cost. There is absolutely no attempt to make things look good. Fish and chips? Two pieces of fried fish on an oversized paper plate. No fries. Only bags of chips. Burgers? Yea cafeteria burger

Jacked up prices makes sense, but the chicken pesto was small with very little chicken or pesto. The fries were cold and hard, but the server was willing to give me some fresh. Overall disappointing even on top of expecting high prices.

Fast food restaurant
Subway is a popular counter-serve chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering health-conscious options. Customers often refer to the staff as "sandwich artists," praising their finesse and quick service. While some locations may have varying quality, Subway remains a convenient choice for quick meals, especially in tourist areas like Alaska.
Clean, friendly staff, more expensive than a regular Subway but that’s expected here and it’s one of the most affordable options for healthy food and a good portion. My protein bowl was delicious with tons of fresh veggies.
Anastasia L — Google review
Came in to restaurant and employees were not welcoming at all went to order my food and they put the wrong chicken even after I specified what kind I wanted. One of the employees was taking bread out of the oven with no gloves on and it wasn't till the person behind me asked about it that someone else told her to out gloves on. They tried to put minimal lettuce on my sandwich and then weren't happy when I asked for more than a sprinkle of lettuce. There was 4 employees in the front of the store and none of them would even help the person behind me until something was said. And 25 dollars for a ft long with extra chicken and a drink that is delicious. The store was nice and comfy my food was good beside the bread being overcooked a little. But the service was not good at all.
Norma — Google review
This is by far the worst Subway experience I’ve had. The employees were unprofessional and unhelpful. I ordered a Veggie Delight as I’m vegan, but the amount of vegetables they added was so minimal that it felt like I was just chewing bread. Despite repeatedly asking for a heavier portion of veggies, they only added about 6-7 small pieces of lettuce. To make matters worse, I visited around 12:30 PM—well within lunch hours—and they did not have herb and cheese bread and spinach wraps. It’s incredibly disappointing for a franchise that prides itself on customization and fresh options. If I could, I would give this place a negative rating. It’s better to avoid this location and spend your money elsewhere.

Just wanted to share a few notes from our visit to the Subway here in Cantwell, since it's pretty much the only option around Denali. The employee who helped us, I think her name was Alex, seemed like she was in a real hurry. I probably took a bit too long deciding, so my advice is to know exactly what you want before you get to the counter. It just helps keep things moving along for them. Also, maybe double-check your order as it's being made. I asked for a 6-inch but ended up with a footlong. My friend chose flatbread but got a wrap. A big surprise! Oh, I ordered one of the new options right off their menu board, and she gave me a really confused look, almost like she'd never heard of it before. She also almost forgot the avocado, but we caught it at the end - no big deal, I guess things get missed when it's busy. BTW, the other two male employees were friendly enough and kept smiling tho. Anyway, it's a Subway. It gets the job done. Just a very different vibe from what we're used to. The service here definitely has its own unique flavor.
Kaidan A — Google review
Was nice to get a meal that had fresh veggies and wasnt 30$+ a plate. Its a typical subway, but by far the most affordable option in the area. Hot Tip: Get a sandwich here, get bag of chips/drink from the liquer/grocery place up the hill and enjoy a full meal.

This place is awful, they put egg on my wife’s sandwich when she never asked for it, took it off when we corrected her, gave us the same sandwich and put the eggs back with the rest of the eggs. The prices are also absurd.

Experience the delightful and entertaining Alaska Cabin Nite Dinner Theatre, a charming dinner theater show that offers a mix of cheesy yet captivating performances. The $75 per person ticket includes a satisfying meal featuring ribs, salmon, mashed potatoes, salad, and mixed berry cobbler. The talented waitstaff puts on a musical show that educates guests about the history of Alaska through engaging performances. While some may find it somewhat corny, the original music numbers are evocative and well done.
Great dinner show with excellent food and service. Provides a lot of entertainment for the entire family and plenty of food to eat. Had a lot of fun hearing about some Alaskan history and eating the great food. It's family style seating so you'll be with other people but it's a fun time from the moment they open the doors. Well worth the time and money.
Jozef W — Google review
I must say I am not the theater type but this was a great time. I was in tears from laughing so hard. A little corny but a lot comical. Dinner was salad, salmon, ribs, corn potatoes and baked beans with cheese herb biscuits. Most was just so so but the salad was nice and fresh and a welcome sight after eating on the road so much. The dessert was a berry crisp and was delicious. It elevated my food rating a whole star. Meal is served family style at tables of 10.
Missy S — Google review
This dinner far exceeded our expectations, it was pricey at $90 per person and $45 per child but we left feeling like we got our money's worth, the staff and entertainment were great I was really suprised by the level of talent from the performers. Food was all you can eat and served "family style" everything was fresh and well seasoned. We had salmon BBQ ribs, corn, biscuts, baked beans, mashed potatoes, salad and warm berry cobbler. The only thing I didnt care for was that soft drinks were not included in the ticket price however water and iced tea were on the table at no additional cost. Would definitely do it again.

This is a great dinner show. The talent serve and perform. They have spectacular voices. The food is served family-style and we had salad, ribs, salmon, mashed potatoes, corn, baked beans, and cobbler for dessert. All the food was very good and portions were all you can eat. I highly recommend attending.
Annette R — Google review
I had mixed reviews of this experience. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. I had a group of 8 with me. One brother-in-law needed to have a gluten-free dessert. This was not provided, but he explained to our waiter what should happen, and in less than 5 minutes was served a gluten-free dessert. This was definitely a plus. On the other hand, the seductress picked on a few people from the crowd to sing to them. Some of her humor was borderline adult. Another of my brother-in-laws was selected as her secret lover, and he was with his wife. He handled it well, but it was very embarrassing to him and his wife. I imagine others in the crowd felt the same way, but laughed it off. Her routine could have been incorporated with the piano player, and the same message would have been conveyed. This by itself soured the evening for me.
Dave I — Google review
Good show based on a history around Denali. Food good and plenty of it. Family style seating is cute but did make food service and passing items difficult. We arrived on time at 5:30 and the table we were placed at for the show and meal was already occupied. Which was ok, we were 4 people and had to sit one on one side and three on the other. Could not talk to our group. As for food, everyone was already done with their salads and bread. Made it feel really rushed. If the start is 5:30 then serve at 5:30 or tell us earlier and we would have been sooner. The whole night just felt rushed. Would recommend as the talent was good but arrive 30 minutes early so you can actually eat normally!
Connie L — Google review
Great excursion when you visit the area. Ribs and salmon were awesome, all you can eat. The cast who did the performance were top notch. Beautiful voices and crowd engaging. Well worth it. 2 showtime. 530pm and 745pm. Book ahead with your travel advisor
Ken G — Google review
This show is pretty much the same as the Music of Denali, except that ththis show let you take photos during the show. Cabin Nite gave very generous and unabashedly endless portions of food! The veritable moat of berry cobbler and whipped cream at the end was the highlight. This show had a lot of energy from start to finish, and there was more room among the tables than the other show.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. Eric was a great driver and the college graduate girls loved Malachy's accent. But let's face it, the real stars of the show were Jay & Turbo. Nestled in the wilderness near Denali National Park, Denali Perch Resort offers a cozy and private cabin experience. The rustic cabins are tucked into the woods with views of Carlo Creek, providing an authentic Alaskan stay. Guests can enjoy on-site dining at the lively pizzeria/bar and the mountain-view restaurant, including tree-top dining at the Perch Restaurant.
Amazing stay here. Stayed in a cabin with two good sized double beds, and the cabin was super cute and very clean. The lady at check in was absolutely lovely and super welcoming. Was a little bit tricky to find the reception building - just keep following the gravel road around to the right and up the hill! Would highly recommend this place if you are in Denali - very reasonably priced compared to other options. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We stayed in one of their dry cabins. Ours looked recently updated, but some of the others looked pretty dated on the outside. The inside was nice and comfortable, but wifi signal was poor. We loved being right next to the creek. The bathhouse had been updated and was just a short walk from the cabin. It was a bit small with just two toilet stalls, two showers, and one sink on the women's side, but I never had to wait so I guess it's adequate for the number of dry cabins they have. It was just a quick drive to Denali National Park and the price was very reasonable compared to everything else in the area, so we would stay here again. Their website and older reviews mention a restaurant on site, but that seems to have been closed in 2023. There are a couple of other food options nearby, but not many.
Sonja J — Google review
The location is perfectly placed for a Denali visit that's removed from the large crowds of the town center. The views are spectacular and the pizza pub with stellar pizza and a large selection of draft beers is in walking distance.

Spent 3 nights at the Perch Resort. We stayed in a one room cabin with no bath. The cabin was clean and the beds comfortable. We left the windows open at night to listen to the stream running by the front door. It was a short walk to the bathhouse. The toilets and (single) sink area were kept clean. The shower stall was clean, except for the shower curtains, which were soap scum covered along the bottom - they were about 3 inches too long. The walkway up from the Creek trail to bathhouse was a bit sketchy. The traction tread was completely worn away, making it slippery with a light rain. Several of the boardwalk boards were soft and sagged when stepped upon. The kitchen is open only to groups. But there is a nice cafe just on the other side of the creek. It’s an easy walk to breakfast before heading to Denali.

Beautiful little duplex private cabin with a full bath and view of the creek. Parking was simple. Great food and drinks nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. My only complaint is people should pay attention to what they are reserving when booking online. The lady who checked in prior to us did not pay attention and attempted to give the check in hostess a hard time about it, which she handled beautifully. Would definitely stay again if we come back this way.

The owners were SO friendly and accommodating. We rented the tiny cabin right by the river and, it wasn't the Hyatt, but it was very clean, comfortable, and a good value for the price. We loved the sound of the river right outside. The restaurant is AMAZING!!! It was such a great surprise to find a gourmet restaurant with locally sourced food and not outrageous prices. The bartender, Bacon, is the BEST! He whipped up custom drinks with homemade bitters and liquors. Everything was top notch! Playing with the local black lab, Rocket, was a huge treat too.

Denali Thai Food offers a taste of Thailand in the heart of Alaska, making it a convenient option for those craving authentic Thai cuisine after a day of hiking or exploring the wilderness. Despite being located in a food truck, the green curry and pad thai are highly recommended, with the option to request spiciness levels. While prices may be higher due to its remote location, it's considered a solid choice given the limited dining options in Denali.
The food was amazing! We were only in for one night, so we only got to try two meals, but both were fantastic. Drunken noodles with chicken and a red curry with shrimp. Both meals were made quick and retained heat on the walk back to our room. 10 out of 10 would eat there again.
Anthony S — Google review
A good variety of Thai and American Chinese food served out of a food truck. The gentleman who took our order was friendly. The price was pretty high, but you get huge quantities so it's basically like buying two meals. Vegetables in the dishes tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly. There are some picnic tables, but if the weather is bad, you're better off eating in your car or taking the food to go.
David T — Google review
Absolutely delicious and wholly unexpected find this far out. Both the massaman curry and pad Thai were excellent. We also ordered from their other location in Healy but we were really disappointed with the pad see eiw and the pad Thai was not quite as good.

Paid $20 for noodles, dried chicken and a sliver of cabbage. No vegetables or peanuts. We used to go all the time, but won't waste our money at either location again. The last 3 times were all terrible.
Michael M — Google review
not sure why this is so highly rated (It's closer to 2.5 stars), we were excited to have different flavors on our trip. and thai food at Denali village! Ordered several pad thai and fried rice. The food was pretty bland all around. So level set your expectations. On the good side, they were quite busy and they were cranking out the food. Also noticed that several people commented on portion size and price. Alaska is expensive and Denali is far from central supply chain. So it's comparable to food in Alaska in general. Issue is lack of flavor.

We were warned that food is very expensive in this area. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered the $18 sweet and sour meal from the food truck. It was more than I could eat and was fantastic! Thank you for a great mountain experience.

Nestled in the charming Denali Park/Nenana Canyon area, Denali Glacier Scoops Ice Cream is a delightful stop for anyone craving a sweet treat. Alaskans have a well-known love for ice cream, consuming more per capita than any other state, so it’s no wonder this quaint shop thrives during the bustling summer months. As you approach, the enticing aroma of freshly made waffle cones beckons you inside, where you'll find an array of classic flavors that are sure to please.
Super ice cream! A lot of choices ❤️😋 and they have very good coffee! They make the waffle cone themselves. They bake donuts and decorate them themselves. Very tasty. You can see the sign from the road.

This place has a pretty good variety of flavors, nothing crazy. I tried caramel caribou and I'd rate it 7/10. It had good flavors, but the texture was partially smooth/creamy, and partially "icy". This isn't a wow factor place, but it'll satisfy your sweet tooth after hiking on a "warm" day.

This shop takes advantage of tourists by serving the lowest quality products at extremely high prices. A plain small vanilla shake made with crushed ice is over $12.00.

Although we weren't initially looking for ice cream, we were drawn in by the scent of fresh waffle cones. The line outside also showed us that we must be in the right spot to get a delectable treat. What a treat it ended up being! The chocolate peanut butter cup ice cream was simply divine. We didn't have any significant issues with this place and would recommend it to anyone in the area.
Teddy G — Google review
No samples, ice cream has chunks of ice, employees do not care about food allergies. Definitely not worth $7 for a single scoop.
Gabby F — Google review
This place has a sign visible from the highway with 5 inch letters outside which advertises Fresh Donuts; when I walked in and asked about these donuts, the girl working was instantly rude af and said that they won’t be doing donuts this YEAR..obviously a couple issues here: if you’re out of donuts, that’s one thing, but if you’re not planning on serving donuts for this entire year, then having fresh donuts written on your sign visible from the highway is false advertising. The other issue is how sad customer service can be at some places; do employees not understand that you’re allowed to convey information to a customer without having an attitude about it? And that patrons inquiring about an advertised item doesn’t mean that you should become antagonist toward your customers? The ice cream was okay, but with other ice cream options available in the same shopping area without the horrible attitude, then choosing this place doesn’t make much sense.

Nestled in the heart of nature, Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge offers a seasonal escape with comfortable accommodations and on-site dining options. Guests can enjoy various excursions and relax in hot tubs while taking in the breathtaking surroundings. For a unique wilderness experience, visitors can opt for a stay at a backcountry lodge within the park, such as the historic Kantishna Roadhouse located 90 miles inside the park.
Fun place with lots of options. We were happy being placed in the Wolf’s area. The property was beautiful. They have a great deck to hang out on with views of mountains and the river. Our room was on the second floor, (the building had no elevator), my traversing the stairs was a bit challenging since my knees hurt from getting up from such low chairs and restrooms, and all the time squashed in on the plane. The room had more modern two full sized beds. The bathroom area is a bit small. The restaurant served good food but was very pricey. We wouldn’t have eaten there at all but we had the meal plan. Service was spotty. No one seemed to enjoy their jobs.

Everything about the place is great except they offer no free food or coffee for breakfast at all everything costs and it can be expensive buffet breakfast $25. Want a cold breakfast $21! There is a coffee shop that sells other items so it does get a little cheaper but I don't get when spending the money I would think they could have a small cold offering for guests. The staff are awesome, the location is great, the hotel is clean and well kept everything in the area is walkable but the hotel does have a shuttle that runs around all day and easy to catch.
Clark B — Google review
Location is perfect for Denali entry with free shuttle running all day. Grounds are pretty with a nice walking path along the river. Dining options were diverse and additional options across the highway within walking distance. Rooms were clean and comfortable but bathroom could use a shelf or hooks to put your clothes on.

Great views. Comfortable beds and pillows. The smoke detector kept making noises when we arrived. I texted the front desk and Enyah sent maintenance right away and they put batteries. All the staff at the Grizzly Burger was very nice. The burgers, the crab cake burger, and the chicken sandwich were good. The fried cheese curds are good and the portion is for 4 people. Lots of shops with beautiful items. Loved the carved bears and Moose with their funny signs. Shipping is included on the price. Great location with walking distance to some beautiful hikes. Rooms are a little outdated, and the bathroom was always cold.
Maribel A — Google review
Wow! This place is like a small village. Huge lodge with rows and rows of 2 story motel style structures. Our room had a lodge like decor, but modern convenience and clean. The rows of rooms are spaced nicely and the grounds are landscaped beautifully. There are cute little displays, community firepits, a burger place, and a full service upscale restaurant. Again very busy so waits for tables were a bit longer. Our server was quite a bit slower than others. We saw several tables come and go during our visit. We were advised that our multi meat burgers needed to be cooked well but we're served medium. Server never returned to our table till we were done. We took our chances, it tasted great and we lived to tell about it! Amazing trails to hike across the river, but it's about a 20 minute walk along the highway to the trailhead. As with the rest of our trip the transfer of baggage was very efficient. Overall a great experience.
Pete Z — Google review
Overall the lodge is an ok place to stay. It’s 90% catered to the cruisers but the convenience of the free shuttles and proximity to the park and the train are worth it. The restaurants on site are nothing to rave about. Food taste was ok and some food was soggy but the service was fast. My main issue was the room cleanliness. The room was visually “clean” but dusty. The bathroom had a mildew smell and mold/mildew on the window edges, the shower is not ventilated well (didn’t realize it until the last day). We had family in the room next to us and had the same issue. I get that it’s the end of the season but I would expect cleanliness to be consistent the whole season. The lodge grounds are very pretty and good for a morning or evening walk. It’s quiet and relaxing and we enjoyed the fire pits in the chilly evening.
DinoMarc — Google review
The hotel is pleasant and the room we had was comfortable and big. There are a number of restaurants with lots of variety. Locally there’s quite a few businesses for excursions, eating and provisions. Denali National Park is nearby and there are shuttle buses to there.

Room are dated the one we stayed in didn't have a good thermostat it was either hot or cold. Its a beautiful location with plenty of food options and close to the park. The resort has a free shuttle to the park the run every 30 minutes.

Nestled on a secluded hilltop, Grande Denali Lodge offers rustic accommodations with stunning wilderness views. The lodge provides free Wi-Fi and features a relaxed restaurant for guests to enjoy. While the property is located in a small town with limited accommodation options, it stands out as one of the recommended places to stay near Denali National Park.
Great views, adequate lodging, easy access to transportation, excursions, and things to do. Reataurant is not good at all but what can you expect for a hotel in the middle of nowhere?
H D — Google review
Nice large and updated rooms overlooking the Denali NP area. The hotel shuttle and drivers are wonderful for getting into the town, to the train station and national park. Hotel desk "day staff" did not make us feel welcome; however the desk night staff was excellent. Restaurant is overpriced with moderate/low quality. There are no moderately priced dining options on the premises. Take the shuttle into town for some excellent food options.
Gaylene M — Google review
Great location. Rooms are looking weathered. Our room door looked like it was kicked in once and all the cold air is coming through the sides and bottom. Room definitely not secure. Shuttle bus was roomie and had great drivers but run every 40 minutes which means you could be standing in the rain a long time. Snack/coffee stand is a mess. Young lady had no information about any of the items for sale, which wasn't many, and didn't take her barista skills seriously. For the price, I will find somewhere else to go next time. Dinner at the lodge was good at best. It had a limited menu and was quite expensive.
Bill F — Google review
Good room, good service, reasonable prices for the area. I gave rooms 3 stars for my comfort reasons (no glasses in bathroom; no guide for TV) Minor things, but they increase comfortability.
Tim K — Google review
Great hotel with a view. Food was fair, but very overpriced. Room was better than expected. Bathroom sink was not good, no counter space. Water in shower was set so that you could not have a "hot" shower. I was freezing after being out in 40 degree weather all day. Cute signs coming up the driveway to the hotel. Nice place to take scenery pics.
Kimmy K — Google review
The positive for this hotel is the spectacular view from the bar and restaurant. Food was good but at a premium price. The negatives are many : accessibility is difficult , you can only take the shuttle every hour and all your activities will have to be planned around it. The hotel being so high up a steep mountain doesn’t help at all. House keeping in the rooms are very mediocre , we stayed there for 3 days and the room was not done even a single day. The day we arrived a room was allocated to us which was not cleaned at all , had to complain and then we were given a different room.
Shibani N — Google review
The Grande Denali lodge is an average hotel. The rooms are similar to a Holiday Inn Express or Best Western. For $ 500 a night you would expect much better. The beds are good/comfortable. The view is great. As you are way up on the mountain, you have no other food/meal options. So, I guess they feel they can take advantage of that. They want $31 for a breakfast buffet. There is no lunch option available. The dinner option is good. The front desk staff is indifferent. We asked them for a wakeup call if the northern lights were out. They were and they did not call. So, we missed them lights. They only have one small shuttle bus which runs on a one-hour loop. Several times the bus was full and the driver had to leave people waiting at the stop. They do not service your room during the entire stay. We had to ask for additional toilet paper, coffee and Kleenex. Even so, they had a QR code you could scan to leave the staff a tip??? All in all. They know there is not much competition and they take advantage of that fact.
Henry H — Google review
Good location, reception staff are very polite and responsive however the rooms are beginning to date. Be aware that "view rooms" are really standard rooms - your view maybe that if the carpark - you will need to upgrade to look into the valley (our experience). Location is great for a view from the bar. On our second night the power failed which also meant no water was available. Power came back on at 5:30am along with all alarms which repeated several times over the next half hour and soon late that afternoon. Rooms weren't serviced daily - up to you to message your own bed. Other than restaurant/ bar - not many other facilities.

McKinley Creekside Cabins, Café & Bakery is a rustic lodge located just 15 minutes south of the Denali National Park entrance. It offers 45 cabin rentals, including newly constructed and remodeled options. The owners are two friendly female best friends who ensure guests have a wonderful experience. The on-site bar/cafe serves delicious homemade food like smoked salmon seafood chowder and warm chocolate chip cookies.
We stayed at the Carlo Guest Cabin (2-Bedroom) in early July. The cabin was very spacious inside for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids. We appreciated it's close location to Denali NP (15 minute drive north) as well as to the Denali Highway (15 minute drive south). The restaurant was much better than I had anticipated and we had two dinners there, a "boxed lunch to go", and breakfast pastries & coffee. For dinner, the Thai Lettuce Wraps were unexpected and delicious as was the Salmon from a local river. It also had one of the best gift shops from sweatshirts, etc. -- even better than Denali NP. Overall the location and accommodations were great. Highly recommend!

We LOVED our stay at the Creekside Cabins! This was our favorite place we stayed our entire Alaska vacation. The property is beautiful and newly renovated. We stayed in a signature creekside cabin and highly recommend them! The cabins are very clean and I definitely appreciated the little details and attention to hospitality. I loved sitting by the creek and listening to the trickling water. Having the cafe and restaurant on site is such a benefit because the food is truly top notch! The location is a bit south of the Denali National Park entrance and you will definitely need a car to get here. Highly recommend staying here as part of your Denali adventure, it's truly a gem!

Pricey but worth it. Good spacious cabins located just beside a creek. Tastefully decorated space. Clean rooms, comfy beds, great staff. Good assortment of toiletories. Ample marked parking for every cabin. 15 mins from Denali park entrance. No breakfast included which i think should have been included for the price which is high. The restaurant is good too.
Amit G — Google review
We found the perfect hideaway to use as home base for a few days while exploring Denali National Park on our own. McKinley Creekside Cabins is located about 15 minutes south of the park entrance, right off the highway. A pleasant drive to the park, but away from all the tour bus hotels clustered around the park entrance. The cabins are small but clean and comfortable, with good beds and all the amenities you could need. Our cabin faced the creek, really a small flowing river, and we greatly enjoyed falling asleep while listening to the water. The staff were friendly and attentive even though we were there at the end of the season and I’m sure they were exhausted. What makes it perfect is the excellent restaurant they operate. Visitors to the park will quickly find that quality food options are limited. We wound up eating multiple meals at Mickinley Creekside Cafe and were always pleased. Customers were a blend of cabin guests, locals, and tourists staying at the park entrance, desperate for a good meal and willing to make the short drive. Definitely recommend and we will be returning on our next visit to Denali.
Carlton S — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at Creekside Cabins. The cozy riverside location made falling asleep to the sound of flowing water so relaxing. Blackout curtains were a huge plus during Alaska’s summer white nights. The staff was incredibly helpful, giving us great road and hiking tips. Dinner at their on-site restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. Everything about our stay was excellent—highly recommend!
Marta S — Google review
we LOVED our stay at MCC. We had a room right next to the creek and fell asleep (in a very comfortable bed) to the sound of a babbling brook every night. The cabins themselves were located 15-20 minutes from Denali National Park, but it was well worth the distance. The restaurant is fantastic and they make it so easy for you to eat there! Very early breakfast available (in case you want to get to the park early), to-go lunches and dinner open late in case you get back late from your Denali explorations. Also a great gift shops, delicious lattes and mouth watering pastries. Would 100% stay here again if coming back to Denali
Jeremy E — Google review
We stayed 3 nights mid-August. We had a cabin with queen studio with a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. It didn’t include breakfast. Our cabin was super cute and we had a great view of the creek & mountains. The bathroom was well stocked. There is no tv which we really didn’t need since we were out and about. There was a restaurant on site and the menu items were similar price to other restaurants in the area. It was in a quiet location and only 15 minutes away from Denali National Park. I initially thought that our lodging was expensive but the other lodgings in Denali were expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Catherine H — Google review
Stay here! We stayed in the lodge and had a great experience. It’s just enough away from Denali to experience some beautiful peace and quiet, yet close enough where you can go back and forth to Denali as needed. Our second floor room had a spacious balcony with a view of the mountains. The room was spacious for our group of 4. The room was incredibly clean, along with having all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay. The fresh chocolate chip cookies and welcome postcard were a sweet touch too. The onsite cafe is an added bonus with delicious food and drinks and great hours to accommodate schedules!

Healy Thai Food is a popular bright orange food truck located near the entrance of Denali National Park. It offers affordable, quick, and delicious Thai dishes that are perfect for satisfying cravings for something different from the standard American menu found in most places in town. Customers often find themselves enjoying favorites like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles, with enough to take back to their hotel rooms. The food truck also serves Thai Coffee as a sweet post-meal treat.
You'd never expect amazing Thai food 50 feet from a gas station, but life is full of good surprises. A hardworking crew is making great Thai food that revivals any casual sit down restaurant. The woman taking orders is doing a lot of multitasking, so just kindly wave to grab her attention to order. The pra ram was rich with peanut and coconut flavor, with a generous amount of meat and vegetables. The drunken noodles were bouncy with a tasty sauce (medium spice added a nice kick), would've liked a few more veggies but can't complain. Looking forward to eating all my leftovers tomorrow.

This is some of the best (objectively) Thai food in Alaska. My wife and I keep a list of our favorite drunken noodles in anchorage and this tops them. If you want good ambience while enjoying your take out, we take our Healy Thai to the 49th state beer garden and enjoy a nice drink with our meal.

We were on a roadtrip in August and we were driving from Denali to Fairbanks. We wanted a quick lunch and we found this food truck on Google Maps with very good reviews. The service was good. We are our lunch in our car and enjoyed the delicious food. There were picnic tables but it was cold outside.

We had the pad Thai that was dry and undercooked noodles. The fried spring rolls were undercooked and doughy no flavor. I had the green curry with chicken that was nice.

Best Thai Food near the Denali National Park Entrance area. We ordered the Chicken Thai Fried Rice, Chicken Drunken Noodles, and the best ever Thai Iced Tea I have had. We did a Spice level of 7/10 and it was simply perfect. Took them about 15 minutes to whip it up in this Take out place. They do have a couple of picnic tables set up as well.

Amazing authentic Thai right near entrance of Denali national park. It was delicious to have hot served after spending entire day at Denali. Denali TakeOut is a food truck located at the Great 1 Grocery & Liquor Store. They offer a variety of delicious options including street tacos, nachos, burgers, and more. Customers can place orders online but are advised to call ahead due to the small operation. The food is reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and efficient. Some highlights include the loaded potato wedges with generous toppings and the surprising halibut burger. However, some customers found excessive use of aluminum foil unnecessary.
Hidden gem of Denali. Most affordable spot with really good food. We got burritos and cheese curds. The curds came with super good ranch. The burritos were grilled and had great flavor. The service was super friendly!

Quick service, pleasant staff. Salmon burger was ok, affordable menu considering the surrounding options.
Nick S — Google review
I got the beef burrito 🌯 ($9) and a BBQ pulled pork sandwich (9$). Both were prepared quickly. The beef burrito was good, but the quality of the ground beef was low. The other ingredients like rice and onions were fresh and good. The barbecue pulled for a sandwich is a decent approximation.

Call ahead if you order online. It’s a Mom & Pop operation so sometimes the cashier is the cook and might not see the order notification. Loaded Potato Wedges were fire! Still steaming when I picked up my food; not stingy with the toppings. I added ground beef and was glad I did. Super friendly crew.

Dinner plans fell through, so I checked subway's hours online. Google and the official subway site said the location closes at 10pm, and with the 45 min drive I would have to make I'd be there by 9pm. I arrived at 9pm to find the door locked, and the sign on the door ALSO said the store was open til 10. Wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time and gas and had just made dinner instead. Don't count on this store to be open when they say they are.

The menu also features other delicious options like ribs and turkey, ensuring there's something for everyone in your group.
The best ribs I’ve tried in Alaska hands down! Homemade potato salad and jerky. Been in Alaska 19 years first time having the best ribs. Prices are very good and portions. Great customer service!

We kind of stumbled upon this roadside BBQ stand on our way to Denali and it didn’t disappoint! My family tried the pulled pork, ribs, turkey and slaw and all were great. There really isn’t anyplace to sit for more than 2 people on a bench but the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Thanks for the great lunch!

Stopped by Steve’s Cantwell BBQ food truck on a whim and wow—so glad I did. I ordered the Hot Hog pulled pork sandwich, and it was hands-down one of the best BBQ sandwiches I’ve had in Alaska. The pork was juicy, flavorful, and had just the right kick of heat. What really took it over the top was the homemade coleslaw—perfectly creamy and crunchy, adding a cool, tangy balance to the smoky richness of the pork. The sandwich was piled high (no skimping here), and the bun held up beautifully. Service was friendly and super fast, even though it was clear the food was made with care. You can tell Steve knows what he’s doing behind that smoker. If you’re anywhere near Cantwell, don’t miss this little food truck gem. The Hot Hog is worth the stop—and then some.

The Mariachi Moose offers a delightful dining experience with its unique take on burritos and enchiladas. The burrito is not your typical one, but a delicious blend of rice and beans topped with melted cheese. The salsas are absolutely fantastic, adding an extra kick to the meal. This locally owned establishment also provides Thai food from a neighboring food truck, which has received high praise from patrons as well.
Delicious food! We had both the burritos and enchiladas. Not you typical burrito but rather a yummy combo of rice and beans then heated so cheese melts. Absolutely fantastic salsas. There’s Thai food in the next food truck which our friends enjoyed very much as well. Locally owned and run and one of our best meals in Alaska!
Kate L — Google review
Never again. The first time I ate here, I had the Mexican burger and it was huge, delicious and was served with an overfilled box of fries. I was absolutely stoked to try the rest of the menu. So the second time, I had the beef burrito, after being told to not order the pork by the staff. The beef burrito is not as advertised and consisted of broken up old hamburger, white rice, and black beans. No cheese, and skimpy, poorly tasting sauce on the side. So I figured I would at least stick with what was great in the beginning, and went back for a third time to get the great Mexican hamburger. What I got was roughly half the size of my first visit with a side of fries I could fit in my palm. Absolutely never again. Total rip off. Eat at the Thai cart next door. Grizzly Bear cabins would do well to kick this cart off their property.

DON’T FOR THE LOVE OF GOD EAT HERE!!! If I could give it negative stars I would! Ridiculous price for awful food. GROSS IS THE ONLY WAY TO DESCRIBE IT. What mexican restaurant serves white rice??? Cheese enchilada with no cheese ? Carne Asada fries with about 10 fries on lettuce with yucky tasteless hamburger meat. Better to starve than to eat there!!! I love going to food trucks and patronizing small businesses but in this case just don’t waste your money.

Taste is not so bad, but price is unbelievable expensive. 4 tortilla costs $9? Forget it. As this resort hire lots on non-native from Russia, China, East Europe, Asia, they offers Thai and Mexican food here. Shout out to Harley and the Sled Dog Liquor and grocery. Up in Danali with wife during fires and National Park closure. At highway with crowd due to no railroad service (at least busses to rescue). There isn't much open at Glitter Gulch, even the traffic lights have been turned off. Getting take away from the food truck at the liquor store looked to be one of the better options. We had fish tacos and carne asada tacos. We just moved from San Antonio, TX, and the carne asada tacos would have stood up there. Not so much with the fish tacos. Also had a side of rice and beans which were quite good. In all, it was a good choice. I'd avoid the fish tacos, but everything else was quite good.

Their food truck is very good and has some good vegetarian options! We talked to the owner/manager about our dietary restrictions, and she and the cook did a great job in preparing fresh and tasty food for us.

In a town of turist traps, it was a nice oasis to go to a small store that had a little bit of everything. Weather your wanting snacks, grocerys, just add water meals, hygine products, or adult beverages, this is a one stop shop. Its easy to navigate, has much better options then anywhere else in the area and though expensive compared to the lower 48, its cheeper then eating out every night.

Expensive resale of Costco food. Liquor was pricey and food truck in parking lot was expensive for what you got.

41The Shack

Hamburger restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Miners Plaza, The Shack is a culinary gem that beckons visitors with its irresistible aromas. As you stroll through the plaza, you may find yourself drawn to this charming eatery, where juicy burgers made fresh daily are a must-try. While some adventurous diners opt for unique offerings like reindeer hotdogs, many rave about sticking to the classic hamburger. The Shack boasts an inviting atmosphere with ample outdoor seating and additional indoor options available in a nearby overflow lodge.
Great food but only counter service with very limited indoor seating, what we didn't discover until later is that there's additional seating in a separate building about six storefronts to the right of the entrance to the shack, see picture

For a tourist spot -not bad. We had reindeer hotdogs ( should have stuck tho the hamburger). The facility was absolutely amazing. The regular shack had outdoor seating. There was an overflow lodge with additional indoor seating. There was outdoor seating. They were clean public restrooms, and fire pits. The location and ambience was amazing.

Burger Shack was one of my favorite small stops at my time in Denali. They had amazing service, and even better burgers. Ashay was very friendly when serving food, and Narek was cooking up some great burgers. I definitely recommend trying the McKinley Burger!

Hamburger was a bit dry and the wait in line was terribly long. The same thing at the Starbucks counter. Not sure if they can't get help or if they are trying to run the place with not enough help
