Southeast Asian restaurant
Restaurant
Hanuman Restaurant in Darwin, located on Mitchell Street, offers a delightful fusion of Thai and Indian cuisine in a casual yet stylish setting. The open-plan space with high ceilings and Asian wood carvings creates an inviting atmosphere for diners. The extensive menu features a variety of traditional dishes that have been elevated to new heights, catering to a wide range of tastes.
Wonderful experience dining at Hanuman, Service was very good, food was delicious. The cost was reasonable. We dined with friends who were not so adventurous but try our food and enjoyed it very much. Thank You!

Great variety of food here although sometimes spicier than expected (not that its a bad thing). Great selection of wines and good service. Centrally located in the quieter part of Mitchell Street. Would recommend.
Sean B — Google review
A lovely dining experience. Great service, top notch food. The entire menu sounded appealing so I went with Hanuman's signature butter chicken. It was so rich and flavourful - the best butter chicken I've had in my life, full of spice and a rich sauce, thickened with ground cashew. The black rice brulee was a delicious dessert to finish on, with a nice crisp top and silky custard.
Rich A — Google review
So we did our research and was recommended to visit this restaurant. And then asked the Indian Uber driver, and the hotel, and random strangers … and yes … this place is as good as everyone said. We arrived just before 6pm opening and there was a line up. What an amazing dinner. #hanumandarwin #indianfood

We enjoyed the banquet for two! The food was fresh and very tasty! The butter chicken was awesome! Some of the chicken in another dish was very dry but did let the staff know at the time. Staff were attentive and friendly. little things like drinks arriving after entrees could be improved. The ratings on this place were high so I had high expectations. I wouldn’t say it is fine dining as it’s appears to be advertised. Expensive for the experience you get compared to Brisbane or Melbourne.
Jayne S — Google review
We enjoyed two dinners at this restaurant. Chicken saté and Butter Chicken the first evening and Chili Chicken with naan and broccoli cabbage the second night. Both meals were delicious. Kind service, though a bit slow on Friday evening. Servers Kim and Marvin were very pleasant.
Juliette S — Google review
It had been quite a while since my last visit to Hanuman, and I’m delighted to say that the dining experience exceeded my expectations. Antonio, who served us that evening, demonstrated exceptional care and professionalism, providing outstanding customer service that truly stood out. The food was flawless in every aspect, confirming Hanuman’s reputation for excellence. It’s reassuring and impressive to see that after many years, Hanuman continues to uphold its high standards consistently.
Kristine A — Google review
I enjoyed the experience of dining at an expensive Thai/Indian restaurant. Menu had a wide range of choices which made it disappointing as a solo diner I could only pick an entree and main (no sampler item for 1 person) The food was delicious. The service was good but missed stuff like serving spoons, or aligning the desert with coffee.

North African restaurant
Cocktail bar
Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Darwin CBD, Moorish Cafe is a charming eatery known for its cozy atmosphere and diverse menu. The restaurant offers a fusion of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines, presenting an array of Spanish tapas alongside North African flavors. With colorful decor and tiled floors, the cafe provides a welcoming setting for patrons to savor seafood, steaks, and an eclectic selection of dishes.
Moorish is always a favourite! Beautifully spiced dishes, fresh flavours, and a menu that’s perfect for sharing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is consistently friendly and professional. Love coming here for dinner dates with my husband or interstate guests.
Nakita N — Google review
Booked a table on a Saturday night. I understand venues get busy but waiting for a glass of wine 15 minutes goes beyond any excuse. Mains took a good 30 minutes. Initial drinks order got an item missing, I had to double check if that was still coming however it was never sent through the system from the beginning. Service was bad and place lacked atmosphere, needs some noise distribution so people can hear conversations within their own tables. Oh and by the way, I did order the first two bottles of sparkling water but a third one was brought up by the staff without actually requesting it…. Yet the drinks we did ordered took ages to arrive at the table. Kind of weird, in the end I had to pay for it. Overall bad experience due to service being so neglective. Food is really tasty and was the only highlight to the experience! Maybe take away next time if I decide to give this place a second chance….
Andrea R — Google review
Food was very good, but when we arrived the restaurant was near empty and we got placed at a table next to another couple. Very close. I understand they were fully booked, but maybe spread people out based on arrival times. Other than that, it was a nice experience and we'll probably go back again.
Cameron B — Google review
Dropped in half an hour before closing for a quick bite and was not disappointed! Service was both prompt and very friendly; and food was exceptionally tasty! Will definitely be coming back again. 😁
Nicola M — Google review
We enjoyed a Friday night dinner at Moorish cafe, in July (peak, dry season). We booked a table for 2 online which was easy. The vibe is pretty young & hip, including the music, although the meals could easily cater to a variety of ages. Thete is an extensive menu & drinks list. We ordered 5 different tapas, which were all delicious! The staff were all very attentive & organised. Although we will happily award a well deserved 5 star rating, a couple of small pieces of constructive criticism though; we thought the music didn't suit the international / spanish / culture & style of the restaurant. And the order that we received our tapas was not in the order of how they were found on the menu, & felt the order in which the items were listed should have reasonably reflected the order in which they were enjoyed. We felt the prices were very resonable for the high level of the food & service. Definitely a centrally located restaurant to visit and enjoy whilst in Darwin. (PS- sorry in advance- some of the photos we had already started tucking into the food prior to photographing 🙃 as, being the usual with tapas, they all arrived separately at our table so a little tricky to remember each time to photograph)
Louise K — Google review
Amazing food. Best place to dine with a vegetarian 👌 But as a meat eater, the bone marrow dish is a winner. Staff always very customer focussed and engaging.
Trish O — Google review
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great service and amazing food! Stella is absolutely amazing! Very professional, she serves us every time we visit for dinner and always makes the experience enjoyable. The rest of the team is also incredible, always friendly and welcoming. And the food… simply the best, and consistently outstanding! We highly recommend Moorish! 🫶
Justine J — Google review
Exceptional all round. Plenty of food choices for all our group's flavour preferences and allergy quirks. Literally the only thing I can think of that would have made it better would have been to play more authentic music rather than western pop. Highly recommend this restaurant for everyone! I'll - We"ll be back asap,! Thank you!??

Sri Lankan restaurant
Ella by Minoli in Darwin offers a unique dining experience with a blend of Sri Lankan flavors and creative cocktails. The restaurant, named after a jungle town in Sri Lanka, is the brainchild of former MasterChef contestant Minoli De Silva. The menu features an array of dishes that pay homage to the Ayurvedic properties of Sri Lankan food, paired with original cocktails like Curry Season and Island Medicine.
Hidden away in an unexpected location in Darwin City centre. Don’t let the location and carpark vibes put you off, this is a very special place. The food was impeccable, could not fault it. It was a warm night and we were happy sitting outside, undercover with a fan above us. We ordered a fish entree and vegetarian options for mains, the eggplant dish was to die for and the potatoes a close second. Service was friendly and prompt. Would recommend to anyone visiting Darwin.
Francesca P — Google review
The lemongrass mocktail was delicious — perfectly balanced, not too sweet or sour. It was quite busy, but service was quick. Our small plates arrived within about 10 minutes of ordering. The curry leaf–cured snapper was fresh and well complemented by the coconut dressing and green chilli oil — flavourful without being hot. The spiced lamb ribs were beautifully seasoned, and the yogurt paired perfectly with the dish. The crispy pumpkin with its seasoned sauce was a standout — easily one of the best dishes. The spiced potato had a nice kick of heat, and the eggplant moju was rich and full of flavour. The goraka chicken was succulent and nicely garnished with shallots (not spring onions). Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place — it’s tucked away from the main tourist areas and well worth a visit.
Zoe — Google review
Pleasantly surprised at how good it was Not a fan of Master Chef or TV “chefs” in general so not really aware of the background of this place The service was of a very high standard. Given Darwin level service is generally poor this was well above that The menu is wonderful and the actual food delicious and again above my expectations Great cocktails as well Very pleasing experience all round
J B — Google review
Wonderful. What a lovely experience. An unusual place for a restaurant, but you are magically transported into a beautiful space with very attentive and knowledgeable staff. Cocktails were exceptional and a lot of attention to detail with every ingredient and this was apparent in the taste. All of the waiters knew the cocktail and food menu well and gave very sound advice when we were choosing. All of the food was delicious. A different flavour profile that was refreshingly needed in a dining world of repetitive tastes. We started with small plates of Kangaroo tartare, pan roll, lamb ribs and the crispy pumpkin. All were delicious. The lamb ribs were possibly the best. Hard to pick. For large plates we had the spiced potatoes- nice, but not exceptional $32 was steep for this dish. As was $34 cor the spiced pineapple- however, I’m so glad we chose this dish. It was unusual and refreshing amounts the other food. Beef wagyu ribs were good, as was the chicken. We got Roti ( yum!!!), rice and a selection of small chutneys- we were recommended to order these, however, I felt they were an expensive addition that was completely unnecessary. The flavour of the food was enough without needing any additions. For dessert we were recommended to try one of their dishes and share it. I wasn’t a fan. It was way too sweet, although I did like the cardamom taste and the aftertaste of black pepper. The sweetness and texture seemed a bit off for me . Overall, an amazing addition to Darwin’s food scene. It really has nothing to compete with and we will be back, many times over.

Exceptional food, incredible flavours, combination of traditional recipes with a modern twist that really exemplifies the ingredients, The techniques of the chef, and the incredible diversity of the flavours that encompass is delicious experience. The cocktails are absolutely divine and the wine list is something really special.

Had an amazing dinner here the other night. Highlights were the roti, lamb rib entree and goat curry. Complex flavours married well together and serving sizes are more filling than you would expect. Both bottles of red were nice. Would recommend to family and friends, easily my favourite dinner in Darwin
Catherine — Google review
Wow! My Sri Lankan mother would hate me if she knew I went to Sri Lankan restaurant, but this was amazing. The traditional flavours with a mix of Aussie influence, with well crafted dishes that oozes flavour. Beef brisket and lamb was my favourite dishes with a close third to the snapper. I had the feed me menu which was perfect and a lot of food, the roti was bit oily but otherwise everything was perfect.
Arosh F — Google review
Wow. Best restaurant I have been to in Darwin, I rate the food here better than what most people probably know as Darwin’s best restaurant… this place just lacks the view - but the vibe inside is wonderful. Amazing service. We chose the ‘feed me’ option hoping to try some things we might not normally try… which worked out well, we are not vegetarians and 2x of our favourite dishes ended up being so! We will be back for sure.

Wow- we thought the good and service were top notch. We had the seafood tower and desserts accompanied by some Sparkling wine . Food was amazing, service spot on and the whole atmosphere relaxing. 5 stars all around

An outstanding restaurant with fantastic cuisine, stylish ambience, and excellent service. The dishes are fresh, refined, and full of flavor – with seafood and meat dishes that truly impress. The wine list is excellent, and the recommendations were spot-on, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. A special thanks to Erika and Anna, whose warm, attentive service and thoughtful guidance made the evening truly memorable. With its stunning waterfront location and unique atmosphere at sunset, Wharf One is the perfect place for an unforgettable evening. A well-deserved 5 stars and my highest recommendation.

I had such a great experience thanks to Sarah and Erica! Their customer service was absolutely amazing, they were so kind, welcoming, and attentive. They took the time to explain the menu in detail, gave us excellent recommendations, and made the whole experience feel really special. Their professionalism combined with genuine warmth truly stands out. Highly recommend!

Lovely meal for my husband’s birthday. We had the charcuterie board which was huge followed by steak. Beautifully presented and we didn’t need the sides that we also ordered. Nice service from Francisco who was very attentive. We had booked an inside table in the AC but were put outside in the deck because of a party inside. The downside of that was that it was really hot which spoilt our enjoyment a little. Would definitely recommend and would revisit.

We hosted our baby’s first birthday (Zhuazhou) at Wharf One and couldn’t be happier! The venue was stunning, food was delicious, and service was exceptional. A big thank you to Alana for her warm and attentive service, Gia for helping throughout the evening, and Erika for making the booking process smooth. Our guests loved everything — truly a memorable celebration. Highly recommend Wharf One for any special occasion in Darwin!
Robert Z — Google review
We ate there for a friend’s birthday. We ordered Beef Brisket and Pork Belly and they were both delicious and had generous servings. The staff led by Alana did a fantastic job in serving us. We couldn’t fault it. Definitely would recommend this restaurant to my friends and families. God bless you guys.
Kristine A — Google review
Had a great meal of brisket and side of veges. I asked for no butter and less oil (trying to be good while on a work trip) and Federico and team were very accomodating. Lovely location for an evening meal al fresco.
Murray P — Google review
From the moment we made our booking, our experience at Wharf One was nothing short of exceptional. Carmine ensured a seamless reservation process and welcomed us with warmth, seating us at a beautiful spot right by the water — the perfect setting for a memorable evening. Throughout the night, we were looked after by Antony and Federico, whose friendly and professional service made us feel truly cared for. They anticipated our needs with grace and ensured we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. A special highlight was meeting Chef Wesly, who personally introduced several of the dishes. His passion and storytelling brought each plate to life, adding a layer of meaning and artistry to the meal that we won’t soon forget. Alannah’s cocktails were a delight, balanced, creative, and beautifully presented, while Gia’s radiant smile and warm presence added an extra sparkle to the evening. Every member of the team contributed to an atmosphere of genuine hospitality and excellence. Wharf One isn’t just a restaurant... it’s an experience. We left feeling nourished, inspired, and already planning our return.

Cocktail bar

Restaurant
Located in the heart of Darwin's CBD, Charlie's of Darwin is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Tucked away down Austin Lane, this multi-storey bar offers a unique experience with its vintage-inspired cocktail lounge, outdoor lantern terrace, and on-site gin distillery. The interior exudes an urban vibe with leather chesterfield lounges and dark wooden tables. The signature gin, featuring native infusions like Kakadu plum and water lily, reflects the essence of Darwin.
Today we’ve signed up for and attended the fun Masterclass mixing our very own gin. It was such a great and fun afternoon. Christian ran through all gin, excellent background and stories to tell. Following that we learnt how gin is made and of course the nuances to get the different flavours. We had great fun mixing our own concoctions, a lot of trial and error ending the afternoon by mixing our fav combo to take home. The post mixing food and laughs and chats with the group was really enjoyable. Definitely worth doing

I went here last night to celebrate my 20th birthday with friends - what an experience! The service was amazing, I think his name was Leonard? He was very attentive to our table, refilling our glasses when empty and checking up on our meals. The food was absolutely delicious. The Taste of the Territory platter was just so flavourful. I would definitely order it again! If you don't know what to order from the menu, the platter has a little bit of everything, so it was really convenient for someone as indecisive as I am. Definitely would return for a quieter date night though as the ambience in the restaurant suited it more than a group celebration I feel? The terrace outside would've been better but the weather's just too hot to properly enjoy it. Bottom line is I'm definitely coming back!

Pee Wee's at the Point is a modern restaurant located in East Point Nature Reserve, Darwin. It offers an oceanfront outdoor deck with mesmerizing views across Fannie Bay, making it the perfect spot to enjoy the famous Darwin sunsets. The menu features local produce-driven dishes such as coconut-crusted crocodile tail and oven-baked wild-caught NT saltwater barramundi.
We went to Pee Wee’s for the first time yesterday and I honestly can’t put into words how beautiful the experience was. From the stunning setting to the exceptional service, everything exceeded our expectations. A special shoutout to the young gentleman,Vincent, I believe whose attentiveness and warmth truly stood out. Every dish, from entrée to dessert, was absolutely flawless It was easily a 10 out of 10. The $600 we spent felt completely worth it. We will definitely be back.

For the price l would have expected so much better. Husband had the snapper he said was nice, l had stuffed chicken breast, dry, flavourless and served with a random black bean mixture. Service was just OK, scenery is what makes it. Would not go back.

Considered Darwin's best restaurant, the service is always 5 star. Food delicious and portions are very reasonable. The soft shell crab entree and pork main store out for us that night!

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere special for our wedding anniversary so we picked Pee Wee's at the Point and we are so happy we made that decision. The staff was friendly and service was excellent. Both entrees and mains were delicious and well portioned. The view of the bay is beautiful, especially around the time the sun is setting. We will be returning in the future!
Sarinah B — Google review
Sharon and the team at Pee Wee’s were absolutely phenomenal for our wedding! ❤️ We live interstate, so naturally we were a bit nervous about coordinating everything from afar. But having the Pee Wee’s team made the whole process a breeze. 💨 Our journey took around 18 months from engagement to wedding day, and from the very beginning we felt thoroughly supported and genuinely cared for. From their patience while we decided on our date (which I went back and forth on for life reasons!), to allowing multiple drop-in site visits when we were in town, organising an on-site rehearsal, seamlessly coordinating with all our vendors, and even taking the time for a generous planning video conference with Sharon 🥹 Pee Wee’s truly went above and beyond. They’ve done this hundreds of times and know all the local vendors, but what stands out is how personal the experience feels. They genuinely value how important your day is and put so much care into creating something that feels truly you. The venue is, of course, stunning, and the food was amazing! We’ve been to so many weddings where this isn’t the case, but Pee Wee’s catered for our 150 guests with ease. The service was flawless, and even the pack up and pack down were taken care of, which is such a relief at the end of a big night! We’d recommend Pee Wee’s to anyone planning a wedding. Just get in quick… because all of Darwin clearly knows how special this place is! 💛

A beautiful venue and wonderful view across the bay. Great staff and service. A great variety on the menu. Good wine list. For entree We had the crocodile & the brisket. For our main dish we had pork on the bone & barramundi with their local namesake wines. A repeat visit for our 39th anniversary.

We went to a wedding here and the food was amazing. I've never been to any function and been so well catered for as a vegan!! To be able to sit and eat a meal that is just like everyone else was such a pleasure. And it tasted incredible. I can't explain how good it was to get a well thought out meal with some protein and not just a random bowl of vegetables . Thank you so much 😊
Belinda J — Google review
We came here on a Tuesday evening to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, expecting a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, it fell short in many ways. The phone booking experience was unpleasant — the staff member who answered (with an Indian accent) was abrupt and hung up before we finished speaking. At the restaurant, our section waiter was not attentive. We were asked to order drinks just minutes after sitting down, before we had a chance to look at the menu. Later, we struggled to get her attention to place our food order. After the mains, no one came to clear our plates for a long time, and my husband had to go to the bar himself to get the dessert menu. One trainee staff member was very friendly and took our dessert order — he was the only highlight in terms of service. We had mentioned it was our 4th anniversary and hoped to see that reflected on the dessert plate, but it only said “Happy Anniversary” with no personal touch. As for the food: the pork ribs were delicious. However, the “wild caught” barramundi tasted mushy and not fresh — more like farmed fish — and the sauce left an odd, toothpaste-like aftertaste. The crème brûlée, on the other hand, was excellent: smooth, not overly sweet, and well-executed. The whole meal (1 starter, 2 mains, 1 dessert) took nearly 2 hours, and the level of service didn’t match the expectations of a fine dining venue with a $100+ per person price tag. At payment, the server didn’t inform us how to opt out of the tip option, and we were automatically charged 10%. We usually don’t mind tipping for good service, but in this case, it felt undeserved and uncomfortable. The only redeeming aspects were the stunning sea view and the live music, which added a pleasant atmosphere without being too loud. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Vietnamese restaurant
CHOW! A Taste of South East Asia is a vibrant and trendy restaurant located in the heart of the Darwin Waterfront Precinct. The menu features an array of Vietnamese dishes and creative cocktails, served in a cool space with a covered patio. The restaurant is known for its giant steaming bowls of pho, laksas, spicy beef with bamboo shoots, and legendary pad thai noodles.
A local colleague recommended this place for their Laksa and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh and flavourful. Friendly service and nice to sit outside.
Nicholas R — Google review
With the humidity hitting like a warm, wet hug from Mother Nature, we made our way to the wharf for lunch at Chow. We ordered a mix of banh mi, pho, duck pancakes, spring rolls, and—because balance is important—chips. Service was quick and friendly, so things were looking good. Then came the banh mi… the only dry thing in all of Darwin. Eating it felt like a personal challenge, like chewing through an edible sandcastle. Hopes were high, but reality had other plans. That said, food is subjective—maybe you'll love it, or maybe you’ll need a glass of water on standby like I did.

Great Atmosphere, food comes out fast but don't bother waiting to be served for dessert or additional food considering we where positioned right where the waiters come in and out and they could all see our meal was complete. Not a great first time experience, will not be back. We only waited around as it was my daughters birthday.

Fantastic spot with a great selection of Vietnamese and Asian dishes. The meal portions are huge - definitely designed for sharing between two or three people, which took me by surprise. I tried the Bo La Lot, Fresh Chicken and Veggie Rolls, and the Lemongrass Chicken - all were tasty, well prepared, and full of flavour. The cocktail list was impressive with plenty of great options to choose from. Staff were lovely, friendly, and genuinely accommodating. They were attentive throughout the meal and even took the time to explain how to enjoy traditional dishes like the Bo La Lot. Highly recommend for both the food and experience!

Amazing food and even better staff. So happy to find such a great place when on holiday. We went 5 times in the week for lunch, dinner and takeaway. Soooo good 😊

Laksa had no depth, tasted mostly like coconut milk. Chicken in the laksa was boiled and unseasoned. Everything lacked flavour.

This is the best Vietnamese resteraunt in town, great quality food with a great setting at the waterfront. Also great cocktails 🍸. Can get very busy at peak times though

We have been twice in the last week - with polar opposite experiences. The first time was Wednesday 26/6 and it was a 5 star experience. The service was amazing, the staff were friendly and attentive and were popping back asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. Food was amazing and we loved our experience. We went back last night 30/6 and if it was our first experience we wouldn’t go back. The wait staff were rude and rushed us to order even though we arrived early and there were only a few other tables full. There was no plain rice ready so I was offered fried rice, but when it was brought out it was barely warm. Our meals were lovely, but sadly our experience was soured already so we didn’t worry about desert and headed off to get that else where. One of the neighbouring restaurants had live entertainment out front, but the staff at CHOW ! decided to put on their music and turn it up louder which made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. Overall I would possibly go back, but we were all just disappointed after last nights experience after such a great one a few nights before.

If you're looking for a vibrant dining experience in Darwin, look no further than Hot Tamale. Nestled near the cruise ship terminals at the Darwin Waterfront, this colorful Mexican eatery is a feast for the senses. With its eclectic decor and lively atmosphere, it's an ideal spot for those wanting to enjoy creative cocktails alongside delicious tacos and quesadillas. The restaurant not only caters to traditional tastes but also offers a range of vegan options, making it inclusive for all diners.
We had dinner at Hot Tamale in Darwin and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with a fantastic variety of flavors that truly stood out. One of the highlights was their happy hour, offering some dishes at discounted prices if ordered before 6 PM—a deal that’s hard to beat. We especially loved the taco special with fish; it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The combination of a lively atmosphere, good view, excellent Mexican food, and great value makes Hot Tamale a must-visit.

About a 15 minute walk from our downtown hotel for dinner. Being from south Texas along the Mexican border my expectations were low but, wow, was I surprised. I had the pork carnitas tacos and my other half had the chicken enchiladas. Both were delish!! Friendly staff and great service. A big thumbs up from me. 👍

This place was recommended to us by some flight attendants who fly up regularly and let's say it lives up to the hype. The food was delicious and cocktails and margaritas hit the spot on a warm Darwin night. Would recommend the fish tacos any time. The service was quick and friendly with a creative atmosphere, this is a must visit.

Food was amazing! Their portions good enough for one person, I got the lamb enchiladas (very lamb flavour) and my friend got the chicken enchiladas (more on the cilantro flavour) . We also got the corn appetizer, (I don’t remember the name, nor did I take a picture) but definitely worth trying the appetizer!

We were very grateful for the service given to us by Andrea. She was a great hostess welcoming warm and friendly advising us on the their menu and recommended the quesadillas which we thoroughly enjoyed; along with our cocktails. The food portions were generous and delicious! Andreas warm and friendly approach was very refreshing and we really appreciated her help on advice of where to shop in Darwin. Thank you Andrea! From the three ladies….

Terrible tacos. I came in for the taco happy hour – I ordered 2 to start and that is also where it ended. Both tacos were cold. The pork taco was dry as all hell and lacked flavour. The chicken taco, although not as dry, was as bland as a soy boy. I would have loved to smother these in hot sauce, but the refrigerated sauce provided was congealed and would not come out of the bottle – rendering it useless. The one star is for the service and lagoon view. I would have loved to try the interesting desserts, but the taco experience left such a literal bad taste in my mouth that I just got the heck out of there, never to return.

3.5 stars is a fair rating. Waitress dropped some food on the floor prior to serving laughed it off. No follow up action. When ordering told food would come out together- nope came out 20mins apart. Fish Tarcos Yummy! Food is good overall but overpriced for the serving size. Best place for drinks only IMO.

Yots Greek Taverna is a well-established and popular restaurant in Darwin, known for its delectable Greek cuisine and fresh seafood dishes. Situated on the waterfront with a picturesque marina view, this restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring mouthwatering options such as Grilled Octopus, Chilli Anchovies, Prawns Saganaki, and Greco Barramundi.
Had dinner with my boss during business trip. The food was exceptionally good, and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Sitting next to the water made for a lovely dining experience. However, there was one uncomfortable moment. A staff member mistook me for my boss’s wife. It would be better not to make assumptions about people’s relationships. Not every young Asian woman dining with an older white man is his wife. That kind of stereotyping is disappointing.

My birthday dinner turned into a disappointing experience. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with 17 of my friends. I made the reservation in person, confirmed it again via email and voice call, and everything seemed in order. However, at the end of the evening, the owner approached me directly at the register and asked if I wasn’t going to pay the entire bill. I explained that each guest would pay for what they ordered — their own food and drinks — and when I paid for my own meal and drinks, I was informed there was a $30 fee for bringing my own birthday cake. I said I would pay it, but also asked why wasn’t I informed earlier? She replied that it was normal and that all restaurants charge this fee. What she didn’t know is that I have 11 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. Nobody mentioned this fee during the in-person booking, email confirmation, or phone call. As the situation unfolded, all my guests stood up and came to the register to pay, forming a line. After the first guest paid, she turned to me and asked, “If someone doesn’t pay, will you cover it?” I looked at her — still in disbelief about what was happening — and said, “Don’t worry, nothing will be missing.” Thank you, Ana, for giving me the worst customer service experience I’ve had in my 38 years. On a positive note, I want to sincerely thank the chefs the food was truly delicious, and many of my guests complimented the flavors and presentation. Unfortunately, great food alone doesn’t make up for how poorly we were treated.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The location was stunning, service was beyond compare. My choices tonight were chicken souvlaki for main course, and greek vanilla slice for dessert. Beyond compare! Will definitely return when we visit Darwin again.

We went to Yots yesterday as a group of 17 girls to celebrate a birthday. Everything was fine until the owner started rudely asking the birthday girl if she was going to cover the bill. She repeated this several times, raising her voice and using very expressive face, saying that if anything was left unpaid, the birthday girl would have to cover it. At that point, there were still 15 people who hadn’t paid yet, and the birthday girl said it was fine, that she was sure everyone would pay and nothing would be left outstanding. Despite that, the owner repeated herself two more times in a very condescending way, as if she didn’t trust us at all. In the end, of course, everyone paid and there was nothing left on the bill. So there was no need to talk to us like that. On top of that, the owner charged the birthday girl $30 just because she brought her own cake — even though, it was not mentioned when she made the booking and our total bill was nearly $800. For comparison, the night before we celebrated at another Greek restaurant, Meraki, and the experience was completely different. The owner personally came to the table to congratulate the birthday girl, happily stored the cake in the fridge at no charge, and kept checking that everything was perfect at the table. That’s what true hospitality looks like. Unfortunately, despite the food at Yots being good, neither I nor any of the 17 girls will ever return. The service provided by owner Ana was TERRIBLE, and her arrogance ruined what should have been a special night. It feels like a place that only cares about money, not about their customers — and Ana clearly have no idea how to deal with people. Feel sorry for the staff if she treats them like she treated us!

Had a fantastic experience at Yots. We had booked a table of 7 fairly late, for 8pm, and told them about an hour out that we were running 20 minutes late. They told us on the phone that this was absolutely no problem at all, and that they would remain open for us until we'd eaten. We ordered our starters over the phone when we were about 15 minutes away and were greeted with a waterside table ready to go and our starters arrived as soon as we'd sat down. Portion sizes were very generous and the food itself was delicious. The staff were extremely enthusiastic and helpful in picking out wines and food from the menu. Definitely coming back!

I recently visited Yots Greek Taverna and was impressed by the exceptional service, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. The entrees were a highlight, particularly the dips — full of flavour and beautifully presented. However, the mains didn’t quite hit the same mark. The garlic in the garlic prawns was too overpowering and cut into large pieces, taking away from the prawn flavour, and the tomato sauce in the other prawn dish lacked depth, flavour and didn’t quite match the menu description. The shredded cabbage side also felt mismatched too large to be a garnish and could have used seasoning or a light dressing to tie it into the dish. Overall, Yots has a lovely atmosphere and fantastic service, but the mains didn’t quite capture the Greek food vibe…
Nic K — Google review
Last minute dinner idea, no booking and a bit of rain to scare off the crowds. Saganaki and calamari for entree, both amazing and portions were big. Lamb chops special with a herb crusting that was to die for and a tzatziki that packed a special spicy twist, delicious. Always have to get a gyros so we went with mixed meat and again was amazing.

Nestled in a stonewalled heritage-listed building with a rich history, including serving as an opium den and enduring wartime attacks and natural disasters, Stone House Wine Bar & Kitchen offers an old-world European charm with tapas-bar-style elegance. Founded by Rebecca Bullen, this wine bar boasts a wide selection of wines by the glass, delectable tapas, and monthly tasting events that have made it a must-visit spot in Darwin.
A gorgeous spot for wine lovers—Stone House has an incredible selection, delicious share plates, and a relaxed, rustic vibe. The courtyard is a hidden gem and perfect for a long afternoon catch-up.

Great spot to kill time waiting for a late flight to Sydney. Fabulous cocktails and wine list...Serrat Shiraz was sensational. Service was spot on. Food was mainly charcuterie platters which were fine.

Nicest place in Darwin to have a drink after dinner. Gina in the beer garden, a Shiraz in the wine room or a whisky in the bar. Staff are excellent. I love the garden outside at night, illuminated with strings of lights and rustic furniture. A great after hours place to have a drink.

We are very happy that we had selected Stone House as our location for our Wedding Reception. Their Salty Plum room was the right fit for us and the food they served was amazing. Aron who organised everything was very helpful and attentive. If you are looking for a great location to celebrate any occasion, we cannot recommend Stone House highly enough. They also have a lovely outside garden area and serve the best wines and cheeses in the city.

This a classy wine bar to go to. Maximum capacity is 70 people. Great wine menu list to cater for all tastebuds. The tapas style dishes are a little overpriced but for a date it is manageable. Tasting of wine before consumption is appreciated, and the staff is happy to discuss wines. A great evening.

Great bar for the mature of mind and young at heart. Great decor as I love Art Deco. The service was first class and good wine selections by the bottle or glass. Plenty of beers and cocktails made to order. I love the decor and there is plenty of seating inside and out. A great place for a first date or to meet with friends for a quiet drink.

Cannot speak highly enough of Aron and the team at stonehouse. The absolute perfect venue for events, the food was delicious and the service was flawless. Nestled in the Darwin Waterfront Precinct, Oyster Bar Darwin offers a delightful dining experience with its waterside tables and a delectable shellfish feast. The menu features an array of Coffin Bay oysters prepared in various ways, along with house pickled octopus, coconut crumbed prawns, pork belly bites, and popcorn crocodile. Visitors can also enjoy daily happy hour specials and sip on refreshing drinks like rose sangria or Bloody Marys.
If you’re wandering around Darwin, like I was, on a Wednesday! They have the best deal on oysters all day. I’m a sucker for some good oysters and these did not disappoint. Great vibe, friendly staff and a great range of food. Right by the water front. If you’re feeling brave. I definitely recommend the Bloody Mary oyster shot ‘chefs kiss’

The location of this restaurant is excellent, with beautiful surroundings. On weekends, the area is lively and bustling with people gathering and having fun. There are many flavors of oysters to choose from, and they are all delicious. The only downside is that the food takes a long time to be served, probably because of the weekend crowds.

The Oyster Bar is hands-down one of my favourite spots in Darwin! I go there all the time—whether it’s for my birthday, a casual dinner out, or to impress interstate guests. The food is always fresh and amazing, the cocktails are just as incredible, and the view over the water is absolutely lovely. The staff are always so friendly and provide great service, making every visit a 10/10. 🦪🍹✨

《Oyster Bar》 Situated along Darwin’s scenic waterfront, Oyster Bar delivers an experience that balances creativity with freshness. The restaurant is best known for its oysters, offered in an array of inventive flavors that highlight both local ingredients and refined technique. The chili cheese oysters stand out — a delicate interplay between gentle spice, melted cheese, and the natural sweetness of the shellfish. Each bite reflects thoughtful flavor harmony rather than excess. Beyond oysters, the menu offers distinctive small plates such as crocodile popcorn, a playful yet well-executed dish that pairs beautifully with a crisp drink. The freshness of the seafood is unmistakable, showcasing a level of quality that speaks to careful sourcing. With its relaxed ambiance and choice of indoor or alfresco seating overlooking the water, Oyster Bar combines casual charm with culinary precision — an ideal first stop for anyone wishing to taste Darwin’s coastal spirit. 🌊🍷

On 3rd May I visited the restaurant along with my family and friends. It’s was my first time there but the service was really embarrassing specially when you see the area and the place and value of money as per that the service should be better than what I saw. Table was not that clean. The server should be there Atleast at the time of sitting to clean the table. But no way . Please work on your service section. Thanks a lot

Staff did not even bother checking on us if we were looking for a table which we were but did have a booking, overall food was great but the price to portion is on the expensive side with the portion lacking. Tried to order to the website via QR code seems easy but at the end they do not have apple pay only gift cards or credit card? which I don't have seems outdated to me. food arrive fairly quick and restaurant seems maintain and clean.
Ye — Google review
They didn’t give me happy hour rates, the oysters are smaller than snappers and the wharf, and they didn’t taste great. The price is relatively fair but you’re paying for what you get. Crocodiles nuggets were great though but for an oyster bar I would expect better. The flies harass your food, best to sit inside.

Nestled within the Mindil Beach Casino Resort, il Piatto offers a dining experience that celebrates classic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Chef Carmine Labbozzetta's culinary philosophy is rooted in rustic dishes cooked with love, which is evident in the menu featuring traditional favorites and innovative creations.
Another amazing sunset to match an amazing dinner at Il Piatto. Garlic focaccia, soft and fragrant, with a stimulating Pinot Grigio, followed by the softest Pork Belly and a Seafood saffron risotto. I didn’t think that you could top that but the Lemon Sponge dessert tipped me over. I love Mindil Beach Casino Resort!

We were craving pizza and this place satisfied. The pizza was good! We had the diavola and Regina. It's loud and noisy, the bar is right there and shakers are constantly going. You walk through the casino to get to it. But you have a nice view of the sunset.

We had an incredible lunch at Il Piatto! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. Service throughout our meals was top notch, attentive without being intrusive and always available to check in and make sure we had everything we needed. Every dish is worth the price! We had the ravioli (surprisingly good), steak, lasagna (my fave!), ragu, pizza. Clarence our server recommended a selection of great wines that paired perfectly with our meals, enhancing the overall experience. Well done guys!

It s a beautiful restaurant but the fact that the waiters try to upsell is annoying. Also I had this pasta but I ate no More than 15%. When they removed my plate they did not bother asking me. The pasta was too oily cooked with low quality oil definitely not olive oil. Paying 30$ and not eating it’s pretty annoying. Maybe I had bad luck.

Pizza. Came here for the pizza and did not disappoint but the tuna omg so good and the pork belly oh my! Everything was consistent, fresh and flavourful. Even the tiramisu at the end was really good. My only complaint, and maybe it’s something I should have thought about being at a casino was the doof doof next door at the pool. Felt like I was having a nice meal inside a night club.

Il Piatto is one of Darwin’s best restaurants. Their woodfired pizzas 🍕 and handmade pastas 🍝 are top-notch, with the beef ragu pasta being a standout dish—rich, hearty, and full of flavour. The mains are equally impressive, but the real star of the menu is the CSG cocktail (CLARENZ Special Gin) 🍸 – hands down the most refreshing and perfectly balanced drink on offer. It’s a must-try. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined ✨, and the service is always on point. Special mention to Dustine, the restaurant manager – an absolute legend 🙌 who’ll always find you a table, even when it’s packed. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the steak offering 🥩. A better selection of premium cuts, especially something for sharing like a wagyu bone-in ribeye, would take the menu to the next level. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars all around. Highly recommended. Regards your favorite customer

Absolutely beautiful venue with an amazing view of mindil beach. Sunset was incredible. Food unfortunately took 50 minutes to come out after ordering with the restaurant not being overly busy. Our table ordered the steak tenderloin, barramundi, salmon and the lamb rack. No steak knives were brought out for steak or the lamb, which was much to tough to cut with a butter knife. Staff were lovely when we requested steak knives after flagging someone down. Although had to ask twice as they only brought out 1. Barramundi was nice, but lacked portion size with sides. Salmon was dry and the prawns it came with were covered in sauce, but still had the shells on. Making it an incredibly messy feat to attempt to remove the shells. Spoke to staff about this when they asked for feedback and they were very understanding and communicated that this is a regular comment made by customers. The lamb rack was a large portion with decent portion of sides, tasted lovely, lamb was slightly tough, but overall was happy with it. Till a few hours later when I got food poisoning which completely takes away from the whole meal and experience.

The food was absolutely fantastic, well-prepared, friendly staff. However, the service was a letdown. It took almost 30 minutes for the waitstaff to even take our drink order, and throughout the night, we had to actively seek attention just to order more drinks. It's a real shame because the food was top-notch, but the lack of attentiveness from the staff made the experience less enjoyable. A little more focus on customer service would go a long way in making this place even better.

Came here for a conference dinner. The staff were lovely, very helpful and courteous. I had 1/2 dozen oysters to start which were good and then a steak cooked exactly as I requested with the truffle fries. That truffle sauce was insanely good and the steaks green peppercorn sauce was fabulous too. Ended the night with the panna cotta which was light and tasty but a good portion size. Would recommend to a friend and the atmosphere was a vibe.

I tried several dishes there. The laksa linguine is nice with high quality pasta, fresh veggies, and Parmesan cheese. The only issue is it did not match the name. Good pasta but without laksa flavour. The coconut cake is a bit weird, especially the white cream. I think it is made of coconut cream. But it gives me some chemical feeling. I cannot continue eating, so I asked staff for a change. Staff are friendly and I changed to panna cotta. It is much better. Last, the restaurant did not have QR code for the Laksa festival.

I think this restaurant can be hit or miss dependant on what you order. Food - We loved the starter bread but my husband said his scallops were a bit mediocre, quite small presumably shipped up frozen. This has been mentioned in a past review so I wish we had read that before, as we could’ve avoided ordering it. I had the mushroom scallops which were nice enough but for $20 I probably wouldn’t order again. My husband ordered a steak main which he said was excellent. Past reviews also rave about the steaks so it’s definitely a safe bet. The fries with truffle aioli are also very good. For my main I ordered the fettuccine and it was a big flop. It was just very basic, store bought pasta with punnet cherry tomatoes & spinach. For $38 you at least expect handmade pasta. For $10 less you can get handmade Parpadelle pasta mains from Alfonsinos, the Funghi with double cream is so delicious we have to order it as an extra main as my husband & I fight over it. So please don’t make the same mistake I did & avoid the pasta, it’s a rip off. Atmosphere - It’s a gorgeous setting & the atmosphere is almost perfect. There is a function room upstairs with a bit of noise bleed & the night we went, there was lots of intermittent cheers & screams coming from upstairs as there was a junior dancing competition, so that was unfortunate timing.

Awesome dining experience! I usually avoid Hotel restaurants but PepperBerry is top notch, fine dining. Had an excellent 3 course meal, everything outstanding. Complimentary sour dough bread to start. Had Miso Tempura Crocodile for entree, Black Angus Scotch fillet for main and a 'Mess' for dessert, like an Eton Mess but Aussie style. Excellent food and service. Must try restaurant in Darwin

One of the best steaks in my entire life… succulent, blue to perfection with the tastiest prawns ever! Entree’s were magnificent! So good in fact I had three! The scallops with chorizo were off the chart, the kangaroo was next level and the mushrooms were delightful. Lovely panacotta dessert and brilliant wine, beer and spirits. Only dramas were staff attentiveness to beverages (we drank like fish though) and a little bit of a wait for the food to come out… but geez, when it did, the quality was exceptional. Decadent, delightful, delectable and do yourself a favour and come here, spend up and take yourself on a gourmet journey not seen much elsewhere in the NT! Thoroughly recommended. Have eaten here several times and always resplendent! Coming back again soon!

It's a nice place to visit with friends or family in the afternoon. You can see sunset. You can fishing too. There are some food stalls. They sell Asian food, Mexican food, seafood and west food. You can learn about the bombing of Darwin in here.

Night market
Mindil Beach Sunset Market is a vibrant hub that draws both locals and tourists alike, offering an eclectic mix of over 300 food stalls featuring global cuisines. From delectable Hong Kong dishes to Greek souvlaki, paella, burgers, and delightful desserts like ice cream and sorbet, there's something for every palate. Operating weekly from April to October, this market not only serves up mouthwatering meals but also showcases unique Aboriginal art pieces for those looking to take home a piece of culture.
I really enjoyed my 2 hours here and the Korean food I had, which was excellent, with lots of other national foods available. Certainly vibrant, and crowded, but parking was easy and plentiful, at least earlier in the evening. You can’t take a dog into the market, a shame but which is probably for the best as it was packed. The sunsets are fantastic to watch from here and even better from the vantage points on the dunes. It’s worth going to whilst on you travels

A great experience, a good range of food stalls and an amazing sunset to sit and watch. I visited about 12 years ago and these markets seemed to be lacking craft stalls this time, however was a good local experience. We had ice cream and watched some people perform at the stage area which was lovely. Parking was really easy too

28 Sep 2025 // Back at the market before leaving Darwin tomorrow. We got there around 6 pm and spent about 20 minutes finding a parking spot—definitely come early if you’re driving! The Sunday crowd was much bigger compared to Thursday when we first visited. Tried the pork stick (AUD 6) after a long queue—super fatty, juicy, and very salty.. Also grabbed the garlic butter corn cob (AUD 9), and it was amazing! The vendor asked if we wanted salt, I said no, and it was still delicious. Highly recommend eating the corn while it’s hot! 25 Sep 2025 // Came to the market around 4+ and it was already crowded. There’s a wide variety of food — from Chinese to Thai, Mexican, Japanese, Korean and more. We settled for a kebab and a bowl of chicken laksa. The kebab was really good at AUD15. The flatbread was crispy, generously filled with chicken, and the mix of ingredients inside made it delicious. The chicken laksa was less impressive. Coming from Singapore, I found it weak in flavor compared to our spicier version. The Darwin version was sweeter, with a strong coconut taste. It had so much chicken that I could hardly find the noodles. For dessert, I tried the churros in the “must-try” Lotus flavor. It didn’t seem freshly made and wasn’t as crispy as expected. Lotus is definitely sweet — I probably clocked my sugar intake for the whole year with that dessert. I also got 10% off for paying cash at the Laska stall. Credit cards are widely accepted but come with a 1.6–1.9% surcharge, so cash is a better option, even though I usually prefer going cashless.

This is a must visit marketplace with really lovely views out to the sea. The markets are incredibly vibrant with lots of music, food stalls of all varieties and lots of knickknacks and artwork to purchase. Just wondering around the market was very nice and I can understand why this is one of the iconic places to visit while in Darwin.
Ross D — Google review
I always visit the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets while I am in Darwin, as it is always a highlight for me:) The markets run every Thursday and Sunday from 4 pm to 9 pm, during the dry season which is late April through to late October. It does get extremely busy, so the crowds might not be for everyone. But the main attraction is the sunset. The view from Mindil Beach is pretty special; The sun looks bigger here as it sets right over the Arafura sea and you get that uninterrupted horizon. It’s one of those sunsets that really stops you in your tracks. Everyone claps when it is over because it is spectacular! There’s a great mix of street food stalls, local arts and crafts, and live music. I even saw people doing camel rides along the beach as the sun was coming down. Something to note – you can’t bring dogs into the market area, unless it’s a certified assistance dog. It’s a bit of a shame if you’re travelling with your pet, but good to know before you go. In July, the sun sets around 6.30 pm, so it’s worth getting there early to find a good spot, and get a good car park. If you’re visiting Darwin, this is a must-do – especially for that sunset.
Happy D — Google review
This is the most vibrant market I've been to in Australia. An abundance of quality food stalls, with cooking smells wafting across the site. Being able to sit on the sand and watch the sun setting over the water, as you enjoy your meal, is an unforgettable experience. Make sure to allow enough time to park, grab some food and get to the beach, so you don't miss the show! For those into arts, crafts, massage and face painting, you'll not be left wanting, either.
Rich A — Google review
What a great marketing to visit especially for the food stalls. Incredible food from all the way around the world. Great clothes and nice Nan stores so do yourself a favour and get down and check it out and I recommend going early as the queues get so long once the sun starts to set.

Mindil Beach Sunset Market is an excellent experience! The food choices are fantastic with flavors from all over the world, and the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. The highlight is sitting on the beach with dinner in hand, watching one of the most breathtaking sunsets you’ll ever see. Truly a must-do in Darwin!

Pub
Event venue
Restaurant
The Precinct is a trendy establishment located at Darwin Waterfront, offering an upscale pub experience with a bustling atmosphere and a terrace overlooking a wave pool. It features two concepts: the Craft Beer Bar with an extensive selection of 46 craft beers and ciders, as well as a stylish setting and an extensive wine list.
We sat outside overlooking the wave pool, nice ambience. Fairly standard pub style menu. Order inside. Meals were delivered very quickly. We ordered: calamari: very tender, small serving, nicely presented pulled pork sliders: meat combined with slaw and sauce - very tasty chunky chips came with gravy which I was very happy about. Total cost approx $60 Recommend.
Audrey S — Google review
I recently visited the Precinct bar and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the young lady playing guitar really carried the vibe of the place, creating a lively country atmosphere that made the evening enjoyable. The location is fantastic, right at the waterfront, with nice alfresco seating that offers a lovely view of the pool and grassed area. It’s definitely a spot where people gather to enjoy good music and drinks. However, the food left something to be desired. I ordered chicken wings that were significantly overcooked, to the point where the meat wouldn’t separate from the bone. The burger was exceptional, but I had to remove the bacon since it was uncooked. While the staff were extremely friendly, my table was unpleasantly sticky, which detracted from the overall experience. Despite the food issues, I appreciate the good price of the burger & chips at $22, as well as the regular musical entertainment. I would consider returning, but I’ll be more careful in choosing my meal next time. Overall, this pub has huge potential, and with some improvements in the kitchen, it could be a great spot to enjoy a meal and some live music.

Didn't try the food, but had a few drinks during our stop (it was the 4 beer paddle for $20 that sucked the hubby into stopping). The food was a little pricey ($22 for 6 oysters ....). The service was lovely and the outdoor seating was brilliant, covered from the rain and open; although thr table was a little sticky. A couple had their puppy dogs, so it's animal friendly. The interior was a little dark, needs a few more lights. Good range of pokie-machines. The live entertainment was brilliant when she was on - she went for a 15min break and still wasn't back 30mins later when we left. Pity.

Went for dinner on cracker night. Had the mexican chicken parmigiana. When it arrived I asked a staff member that I didn't order the kids palmy. She said it is very small but the only size they have. Chips over cooked and average salad for top price meal. Worst food I have had in Darwin and have lived here for 25 years. The place used to be good. Not anymore. Top prices for no quality.
Chris W — Google review
The calamari was under cooked and soggy. We had 3 people order it on the table and all were not good at all. Don't recommend it. The pepperoni pizza was good that the kids had.
Melissa W — Google review
Probably the worst food I’ve tried in Darwin, been here a few years, was invited to an event one time with okay entrees. Thought I’d try dinner. Nope never again. Oysters killpatrick has the worst killpatrick sauce. Japanese style squid salad, what are they even trying to do? Thinly sliced squid with a garden salad and some sauce… terrible idea and zero creativity. Was not a pleasant atmosphere on the palate. Waste of money, put simply don’t bother!
Daniel C — Google review
The Thai oysters are pretty good Hower also ordered the seafood plate was very average everything was deepfried to the $ hit house..the deep fry oil must be very old as it was Soo greasy wasn't very enjoyable, a friend with a chicken burger had the same issue just real greasy

We were lured in by the amazing smells coming from the BBQ smoker. People behind the bar were more than happy to help out. We decided to grab a drink while we waited for the food service to start. So glad we waited. Ordered the Sticky beef ribs and Chicken wings and we were not disappointed.

Asal's Cafe & Dessert Bar is known for its combination of seafood and desserts, while Ballantynes Fish & Chips is popular for its traditional fish and chips made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
An absolutely stunning spot for dinner. Easily the most beautiful location in Darwin. Good quality and generously-sized pub bistro style food and a big range at the bar. Enjoyed my chicken fried rice watching the sun set and the sky change from one beautiful colour to another.

Great food & service It's wonderful looking out into the sea while eating. The gardens are very well kept.
Sharon — Google review
The food is really good. If you could separate and only give a review for service, it would be 1 star. If you are expecting any kind of decent service, a hello at the bar, acknowledgement that you exist even. Don't come here. Multiple times over the last year we have been ignored by bar staff. I thought it was a one off. But no. They don't say hello, they don't even ask who is next, they will just stare at you. We organised a birthday dinner reservation and brought a cake. We politely asked if we could put the cake in a fridge, the woman said yes and just walked off. We were let standing there wondering what was going on. In addition, the glasses for the water jugs are kept in an old mouldy fridge thay doesn't work, which is questionably a health and safety issue. Again, great food. Really horrible bar service.

Saffrron Restaurant is an award-winning, sustainable Indian eatery located in Parap, just 4km away from Darwin city. The warm and eco-friendly restaurant offers a remarkable dining experience with a focus on seasonality and sustainability. Chef Selvam Kandasamy's menu emphasizes local seafood and fresh produce from Darwin's Markets. Diners can enjoy a variety of curries, samosas, tandoori dishes, and innovative Indian cuisine while sipping on carbon-neutral beer.
I tried their butter chicken and butter nan and its really delicious. Nan comes with pure butter smell and the service was really great. While having dinner they asked twice how we’re going with the food which was nice. Amount of the food was good too, i have tried so many Indian restaurants in Darwin and at some point found out the amount of food and price was not exactly matched my expectations. Really nice and loved their lunch options as well with a very reasonable amount and price.

Clean, tidy and great ambience. Saffron team members are hospitable and serve with 😊. Flavourful food, reasonable choice in non alcoholic beverages.
SHIVIK D — Google review
We've been getting food from Saffron (both main restaurant and express as takeaway) for around 8 years. The prices have gone up markedly in the past few years, and the balance has tipped now that in my view the (admittedly very good) food is no longer worth the exorbitant cost. I appreciate that all restaurants have put prices up as costs rise, but Saffrron seems to have done so significantly more than most others. I now can't justify the massive cost of food from here, so eat elsewhere. Fortunately there is no shortage of similar good restaurants in Darwin which are more reasonably priced. If the Saffrron prices become more reasonable in the future (very unlikely I suspect) I will return, but for now I've moved on and won't be returning.

It's been a while since we've eaten here (normally get take out), but tonight was a bit of a special occasion so we went in for dinner, and it were delighted with the amazing flavours and great service we received. Definitely one of the top restaurants in Darwin for Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine.

I order one curry with butter chicken using Uber and the first thing I got pissed off was they didn’t even gave any cutleries or napkins. Besides, the rice was not cooked well and it was sticky. Talking about the butter chicken, I had never ate such worse one from any Indian restaurants in Darwin ever. I doubt if it was even fresh as the chicken pieces tasted stale. You guys used to be amazing, but this order totally disappointed me. Try to take care of these basic things which could have been easily avoided.

Hubby had been here 26 years ago, I wasn’t excited looking at the exterior but this is a hidden gem! Cosy interior, sat in a little booth with kind lighting. Stapled menu’s. Very busy! Entree: Oysters…presentation was lacking but they were fresh with a pot of very tasty garnish. And oyster forks!! Yay as even oyster bar didn’t provide! Chicken tandoori was very nice. Main: Bug tails with Penang curry sauce…Delicious! And a side of stir fried vegetables with Thai basil and Kafir lime leaves. Very enjoyable and keep it a secret from the tourists 🤣 Highly recommend.

This place is a Darwin must visit! The dishes are incredible. Well portioned and incredibly flavoursome. Good range of alcohol also. Rice is not included with some dishes which is a suggestion for the restaurant to consider or larger portions at that price. The decor is eclectic and really adds to the unique charm of the restaurant. Great bar just next door for pre drinks otherwise there is a cocktail bar within which is also great for afters.

Fantastic Korean food in a cool setting. Staff were really attentive and drinks came out super quick even for the cocktails. Great value too. Everything we had was delicious. If I'm in Darwin again I'll certainly be back!
Eric G — Google review
Food was good. Korean fried chicken and small bowl of rice was expensive to my liking. The tempura eggplant was very nicely cooked. The kitchen did cater for my request to have one half of the Korean fried chicken in one flavour and the other half in another flavour.
Phil T — Google review
Most honest three star review I've ever given. Beer selection was good, however the staff were not very informed about the selection they were offering. The venue and atmosphere was fantastic, suited to the food perfectly. It was the food that kinda dropped the ball however. Pork dumplings were very nice, cooked just right. The spicy seafood was something that we were all excited for but what we got did not get close to the expectations. It would have been barely worth the money at $10 less. Prawns (all 3.5) were cooked ten minutes too long and were harder to shell than a mud crab. Was more or less a plate of squid. And the crime here was the lack of spice which seriously was the one thing that I was expecting. Flavour was a little bit mild too. Chicken wings were cooked perfect, but thats the only thing done right. Pigeon wings in a kilo of batter with enough dipping sauce for maybe four of the ten on the plate. The batter rendered them flavourless and the sauce was there as a tease.. Actually the pickled veg was good too. Condements were par for the course. The other issue I took was the young girl looking after us had no energy and really struggled to understand what she was serving, even the drinks were above her pay grade. We jumped ship before desert and opted for some icecream from John's down the road.
Justin F — Google review
Dumplings are delicious and you can have it for just $1 each for happy hour. The BBQ was good too, marinated beef, chicken and pork were tender and melt in the mouth. Just 3 stars because of the service, slow and rude, you don't feel really welcome. They had a fully booked restaurant and not enough staff to serve and clean tables. With the BBQ on our table the room temperature was not cold enough, we sweat a lot. The atmosphere is nice. Food: 7/10 very good Service: 5/10 need more staff to do better Atmosphere: 7/10 nice

With a menu featuring delights like charred local prawns, snapper ceviche, and reef fish burgers, every dish celebrates the flavors of the sea. The highlight?
Beautiful lunch by the waterfront. For lunch we shared 3 small plates amongst 2. Had the salt and pepper crocodile, ceviche and chicken skewers. The food was beautifully cooked, very filling. The frozen daiquiri packed a punch. Service was excellent.

Lovely staff and location. Highly recommend the slow cooked pork bao buns. The seafood paella was very flavourful, the crispy barramundi fell short with it being quite a bland dish. Wouldn't deter me going back though.

Pleasantly surprised! Stumbled upon Snapper Rocks while strolling at Darwin Waterfront on a Saturday evening. Decided to give it a go because we spotted the fish wings on the menu. We were quickly shown to a bar table, service was fast and friendly. The the fish wings, snapper in beetle leaves and papaya salad were all delicious. Nice Asian flavours and just enough chilli kick. Nice cold glass of SA to go with it. Highly recommend, it’s rare to find quality food in high tourist areas.

We had a later booking on a Saturday night but we were received with a warm welcoming smile & never made to feel that we should rush before the kitchen closed. Snapper Rocks has become a firm favourite of our circle of friends for its fresh delicious flavours & great service & tonight was no exception. Simone, the floor manager is flamboyant & passionate about great food & great service & when there was a slight issue with our order, he rectified the situation quickly and kindly offered us a complimentary beverage for the inconvenience. We are working our way through trying all the small plates each visit because it’s fun to do. The bugs were sweet fleshy buttery garlicky delights, the betel leaf wrap up morsels of cerviche snapper limey peanutty & heavenly & the sticky beef salad just so refreshing. This is all we had time for but we will be back. Congratulations Snapper Rocks. You certainly deserve your awards.

Waitress was rude when all we tried to do was get water for the table. We tried to let her know that three out of the six glasses had lipstick stains and we would like new glasses, but she quickly walked away when we were in the middle of asking 🙃. Drinks wait time took roughly 10-15 minutes, which is alright considering it was a Saturday lunch time and the waterfront was packed due to DAAF. The French waiter was nice and polite. He ended up serving us for the rest of the duration. He was attentive and made sure we had drinks. FYI it’s table service only, so you can’t order at the bar. Food wait time was roughly 30 minutes - not too long. We ordered the jackfruit bao bun - it was mediocre and could use with some more seasoning. Grilled chicken with cous cous - absolutely delicious, I would definitely order again. Lemongrass chicken skewers - dry and needed salt. It was alright once you squeezed lime on it. Fish (snapper) and chips - very nice and the sauce was full of flavour. Oysters - beautiful 👌🏾.

Delicious fresh food, quality wine list, excellent friendly service, great indoor and outdoor seating options. We keep returning for the small plates, especially the seafood options. Not impressed. Very generic decor and atmosphere. Horrible "pop" music mix. Decent but forgettable beers. Very unenthusiastic staff. Very pricey beer paddle. Overall OK to visit but I don't think I will be back. In my book they are a below average brewery and an average pub.

Not a bad place, first night I ordered the chicken fingers, and second night I ordered the Calamari. The chicken fingers were average and the calamari was very soft and soggy. Most restaurants serve calamari crispy. Not huge complaints here just my preference. The staff is incredibly nice. I’m surprised this place doesn’t draw more of a crowd.

We visited this bar a couple of times during our recent stay in Darwin and it was not bad. A varied selection of beers, with a happy hour reducing the schooners and house wine to $6, good value. The ambiance is very laid back but the music is way too loud. The staff were cheerful enough but lacked real enthusiasm. Good enough bar for a beer or two.

The beers, good and perfect. Happy our also nice to have a couple of cheap beers as a budget traveler. But we ordered chicken tenders and we just got 3 pieces!!!! A bit of coleslaw and some aioli….. we got compromised with a large beer and the tenders!

Got a recommendation from a local to check out Six Tanks Brew Pub as we love a brewery, the atmosphere is simply amazing, the decor is on point and they play decent music inside the bar area. They have 26 beers available on tap, with one through six being their own beer brewed in house. Unfortunately out of 26 beers on tap, there was no dark beer options, and the two Victorian beers on tap are mainstream stuff from CUB, it would be nice for the two Victorian options to be from our prominent craft/microbreweries rather than the foreign owned corporate monster that's CUB. The food was great, however by the time we got our food most of it was cold as the timing was a bit off how they prepared our share plates, but it's no big deal, this would be a five star venue with just a few small changes on how they serve their meals and a bit more variety in the beers - a couple dark beer options would be great and get rid of CUB for the Victorian representation in exchange for some of our fantastic microbrewery options we have down south. Certainly worth a visit if you find yourself in Darwin CBD, great venue.

Aboriginal Bush Traders is a cafe located in the heart of Darwin, adjacent to a gallery and souvenir shop. The establishment offers a modern twist on traditional bush tucker, with dishes like roasted kangaroo seasoned with lemon myrtle, aniseed myrtle, pepperberry and wattleseed. The cafe operates as a 100% not-for-profit organization and is committed to ethically sourcing its food in ways that directly support Indigenous communities.
An amazing shop/gallery with lots of good options for cultural souvenirs and recipe or story books. We had to go back as the shop/gallery doesn’t open until 9am and the cafe opens at 7am but it was well worth going back a second time. Good coffee and loved seeing a menu that celebrates bush tukka!

Lovely cafe and gallery. Had brekkie here and highly recommend the damper, which was fried for us and oh so delicious! Gallery was great and even bought a small piece of art. Highly recommend having brekkie or lunch here while in Darwin.

Incredible service - I missed their opening hours on my last day in Darwin having seen a piece I wanted to buy earlier in my trip and couldn't find it on their website. They found the piece that had been rotated to their backroom, created a link for me to buy it through the online shop and shipped it to me with zero issues. Awesome.

Great cafe if you are in Darwin. Has some bush inspired eats, the little treat pictured was great with a hint of bush plum which provided a nice sourness to offset the marcipan. Would also recommend the roast veggie salad with bush spices.

The door greater was very friendly but that’s were it ended. Bar staff service very average, there were two but seemed like they were rushed with only one table inside with people, the rest was empty. The food took ages to come out, it was Monday and there were very few people there. The calamari was way overcooked, the salad was clearly from yesterday but they try to drown it in dressing to hide it, the NZ whiting wasn’t fresh, mushy and very oily, should’ve said something but there was no one around to complain to. Counter sign says to give em a review, need to do better, so many offerings in the area. If you get salad, deep fried calamari and fish wrong it’s time to hand in your apron. Unlikely to be back and unfortunately can’t recommend it.

Fiddlers Green is the best restaurant in Darwin! The food is wonderful, truly delicious. But the highlight goes to Antonio! He was always super nice, attentive to the customers, and prepared incredible drinks for us, especially the Caipirinha, which was perfect. I highly recommend this place!

Stopped in for lunch on final day in Darwin, staff are friendly, ordered lunch on line through app & delivered in a reasonable time given number of people present, size of meals was huge, reasonably priced, fresh & tasty - chicken parmy & barramundi - worth a visit again - thanks

We stopped by during the Kindness Festival, so the whole place was packed—but the staff still managed to find us a table right away, which was awesome. The bar was super busy, but the bartender was super friendly and on it. Even with a line, he made our cocktails right away, handed them to us with a big smile and said, “Enjoy it, guys! Come back soon for another round!” Loved the energy! Food took a little bit to come out, but it was a big portion—totally worth the wait. We couldn’t finish everything, but they offered takeout containers which was really thoughtful. After eating, we went back to the bar and asked the same friendly bartender for a drink recommendation. He surprised us with a Toblerone cocktail—and wow. It looked amazing, with some cool art on top, and tasted even better. Honestly, we had such a good time. Even with the crowd, the staff kept things running smooth and made us feel super welcome. We’ll definitely be back soon

Partner and I are usual customers here and understand that the food isn’t always going to be exactly the same however after our last meal we probably won’t be back. We both got gravy with our meals and it genuinely tasted like someone had put cigarettes inside. Was awful and completely ruined our meal, made me feel nauseous even after only having one bite with it. Unfortunate as we both got steak and it costed over $90 and had to wait more than 30 minutes for our food

Crustaceans on the Wharf is a renowned seafood restaurant located along Stokes Hill Wharf, offering a relaxed dining experience with a sprawling harborfront terrace. The open-air tables provide perfect views of Darwin's tropical weather and ocean scenery. Specializing in seafood, the restaurant serves signature dishes such as Singaporean-style chili mud crab, locally caught prawn platters, and wild-caught NT Barra with garlic butter.
Fantastic we ordered the deluxe platter. The staff are very hospitable, warm, welcoming. This is the true example of Territorian spirit, they really care about their customers, the food was absolutely delicious, it was well worth the money we paid. The kilpatrick oysters was absolutely yummy, the scallops melted in your mouth, the lobster , bugs very tender and perfectly cooked. Can’t fault a thing and seafood is rather hard to get perfect, very fresh.
Georgia P — Google review
The location is very nice, just be careful of birds while eating. The service is slow, I had to ask many times to clear the plates, order new beverages, napkins, and salt and pepper. The food was ok. I ordered the soup of the day, which was pumpkin, and it did not have any flavour, didn't even know it was pumpkin honestly. I tried the garlic bread, which had quite the presentation, and was quite delicious. I ordered the New York Strip and asked for medium rare, it came out close to well done and there was no seasoning on the steak at all. When I ordered the steak the waitress asked me about sauces and I picked one they recommended, did not know it was gonna cost $4. I added fried calamari to my meal and it was not too bad, no dipping sauces provided. A friend I was dining with had a seagull poop into his food and the wait staff replaced his meal quickly. Come here for the ambience and drinks. The toilet could be cleaner and brighter. Wharf discount available, no military discount. Personally I will not come back here.

Disappointed ☹️. Best garlic bread I've ever had, but "low alcohol beer" was ordinary beer 🍻 and not non alcoholic or low alcohol. Got the earliest sitting to ensure full menu to choose from, guess what, no cranbs.....very disappointed as last day in Australia. Ordered "Morton bay bugs" and they definitely were not fresh and had been taken out from the freezer. Quite pricey for what it is. No sun shades.

Wow! A shuttle bus driver said this was the best restaurant in Darwin and we agree. We bought a platter for 3 (at the recommendation of the lady who served us). Platter was large and more than enough food for 3 people. Service was personal and spot on. The ambiance outside on the wharf with the sunset was amazing.

A very popular venue most evenings, glad we booked in advance or there wouldn't have been an empty seat. The place was packed on a Friday evening and the poor staff did well running around catering to everyone's needs. There was a 75 min wait time from ordering to getting the delicious meal on our table but with the fab sunset views and the tasty dishes we didnt mind too much.
GasgasLex — Google review
What a place and what a location!! The food is amazing and such great value! Make the time to go there!!! I also loved the service, I dont think ive had so many staff at a venue ask if I was being looked after or had ordered 👍

We love this place, from the seating, view, the staff ( they are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble)and especially the food. We had the deluxe seafood platter ( wow), and a friend had the seafood platter for one ( well worth the money). I found the wine a bit expensive, so make sure you look at the cost before ordering. Highly recommend booking in advance. Make sure you take your camera, the view is stunning, and we had a blood moon. The toilets are clean and big enough for disabled people with no step to manage. If you like my reviews please follow us around Australia 🇦🇺.

If you're a seafood lover, "Seafood on Cullen" is an absolute must-visit destination that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This casual buffet restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat feast featuring a vast selection of fresh seafood and succulent meats, all while you enjoy stunning water views from the terrace. Imagine indulging in everything from oysters to prawns, alongside perfectly grilled steaks, as you soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Great buffet in Darwin right on the water. Amazing sunsets to be seen here. Food is really great quality and a great selection. Chinese, chilli crab, oyster, the list goes on. Definitely a good night out and great prices for kids my 5 yr old was only 10 dollars. Definitely worth coming for a visit. Just look out for the people who clear the oysters in one go leaving none for others and do it over and over again. The prawns were top quality.
Daniel T — Google review
The crabs and prawns were not that fresh and the oysters were too small…. But it’s good that you can have different types of food at one time. Lambs are the best and then calamari. The sunset worth 20 dollars.
Yihan L — Google review
At $52.50 per person, this buffet offers remarkable value, considering the abundance of fresh seafood. The prawns, oysters, and crab were fresh and continuously replenished. The seafood alone makes the price worthwhile for seafood lovers. The buffet also features a diverse selection of cuisines from asian dishes to steaks and duck, there's something for everyone. They even cater to simpler tastes with options like chicken nuggets and fries - perfect if you're dining with kids. The setting provides flexible dining experiences depending on your preference. The outdoor seating area offers spectacular sunset views that enhance the dining experience considerably. Alternatively, the spacious indoor dining room provides air-conditioned comfort for those hot and humid nights. While not a five-star fine dining establishment (and it doesn't pretend to be), the atmosphere reminds me of a cruise ship buffet - casual, abundant, and focused on variety rather than refinement. What it lacks in elegance, it makes up for in choice and quality. The restaurant clearly has a strong reputation in the area, attracting both locals and tourists - always a good sign for a dining establishment. If you're looking for an affordable feast with plenty of fresh seafood in a relaxed setting, this buffet delivers excellent bang for your buck.
Martin P — Google review
Food is good value for the buffet price. Some dishes were really great, others not so. Service was average. Had to ask twice to order wine and then they brought over the wrong one. Hard to find napkins at times. The sunset over the beach was the best part of the atmosphere.
Selina P — Google review
3.5 overall for the atmosphere. What's not to like about an ocean view. Food was good but I'm not big on buffet style. Table service was okay but we had to keep trying to get the attention of the staff as they seemed to ignore without making it obvious. The pariots were being noisy as well.
Nathaniel L — Google review
Loved Seafood on Cullen. Gorgeous area to have a buffet meal, watch the sunset, enjoy warm night and we were lucky to be there on Territory Day. Fabulous fireworks display
Judith T — Google review
Overall nice, we showed up with only an hour left (we didn’t realise this until we got there), and so it felt like a rush to eat our dinners worth (completely our fault not the restaurants), but most foods were replenished which was great, but not all. Food was good, not fresh, but for the price and buffet style you can’t expect it to all be fresh. Only downside was that every time we left the table staff went and collected anything they thought was dirty or unusable. So we had to remember to keep getting more napkins and cutlery which just felt a little wasteful and a little rushed. Overall a good dinner! And we are still glad we went :)
Alice — Google review
The buffet offers a nice variety, and for the price, it's quite satisfactory. There's a good mix of seafood, Asian, and Western dishes. Plus, the view of the sunset over the water is truly lovely.

The food is rather good, I do enjoy a succulent Chinese meal, I ordered spicy salty squid, a vegetarian Buddha bowl and pork crispy platter. The flavours textures and food was on point, made with quality ingredients and crafted with care from a chef who obviously knows what he's doing. Friendly staff that were helpful in making suggestions when making my order and just a clean cosy atmosphere. Would recommend. They have a nice selection of exotic cocktails to try to which was something different.

Sliding doors moment. If not to stop to look at a building opposite, the bossman wouldn't have had an opportunity to invite us in. Absolutely one the best laksas I've had. The heat in it was spot on, for me, and the sauce, noodles, and pork was divine. The duck pancake was also the best. I'm not normally a duck eater, but this was cooked just right. My wife can only have GF and that was no issue. Lots of options. Just moved to Darwin and this is on the list of local places to visit and visit and visit again.

Yum! Service was friendly and inviting. Restaurant had a nice feel a decor and playing recent music with nice table settings. The siu mai and wontons were so goooodd!!!!! Honey chicken was also battered, seasoned and cooked deliciously with a great tangy sauce. The fried rice and Mongolian lamb were a good serving size but lacked depth and I would skip the Barra next time. Would come back and order heaps of entrees as they were good 👍
Clancy E — Google review
Had their soft shell crab (entree), Peking duck three ways (poultry), kinto pork spare ribs and spicy salt squid. The soft shell crab was okay. The legs were good but as you keep eating to the main body, you can taste a really fishy smell that not even the dipping sauce could cover. The Peking duck three way was amazing. The pancakes were warm, the duck meat was good (though the skin could be crispier) and the sauce was amazing. The duck soup is really nice to drink. The duck fried rice is what you would expect of a normal fried rice. The kinto pork spare ribs is the star of the dish for me. The ribs were fried to perfection and the sweet tomato sauce goes so well with it. Would definitely recommend this. The spicy salt squid is the star of the dish for my partner. I loved it too. I'm glad it had a slight kick to it as I couldn't see much chilli on it and thought it was going to be a plain salt and pepper squid dish. Overall fast service despite being full house. The waiters were friendly too.

Love Lazy Susan’s. Have visited a few times for dinner; the food is always fresh and tasty, and the service is top notch. Today we visited for Yum Cha (Sunday brunch). We booked a table at 11AM (booking is advised). Thoroughly enjoyed the brunch experience, food was delicious (as always). Highly recommend the Spicy Salt Squid and the Fried Wontons. Also loved my coconut crushie (natural), if you want a non-alcoholic drink; it was very refreshing after walking around in the heat. Looking forward to our next visit! Thank you.

Shenannigans, also known as "Shags" by locals, is a beloved traditional Irish pub located in the heart of Darwin city. With over 21 years of experience, this piece of Ireland in the Northern Territory offers a lively and welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy hearty meals and observe the world while sitting on the terrace with a pint. The pub features live music almost every night, inviting patrons to sing and dance along on the terrace.
The amazing cheddar melt chicken schnitzel my husband and I had at Shenanigans Irish Pub in Darwin was without question the best we have ever had in our entire lives—ever. Nowhere else, anywhere, has even come close. From the amazing start to the perfect finish, the atmosphere wrapped around the whole experience—warm, lively, and unforgettable. Truly, it was one of those moments you wish you could bottle and keep forever.

Nice Irish Pub on Mitchell street. Lots of TVs, they even played my NFL (American Football) game for me at 10am which was very nice. Cold and old was the buffet breakfast theme this morning. Let's start with what was good.. the pancake machine and tinned peaches. At least I could tell these items were fresh. The rest was borderline depressing for a large hotel chain's breakfast offerings. Is someone reusing last night's dinner for today's breakfast?, because that is the vibe I got. The offerings are just odd and not done well at all. Carrots in the mushrooms Kransky in some strange vegetation mix Uncooked tomatoes 🍅 What looked like last night's dry old noodles. Dumplings undercooked and oily. Not only did these offerings taste sad, they also were cold.. not even at safe food temp which I feel is pretty easy to accomplish. The cold side offered: Dry cracked cheese slices and rubbery ham. Croissants that had become almost stone like. Tinned and some fresh fruit.. the cold side definitely felt safer to eat. The yougurt however was lumpy and watery all at the same time so maybe avoid that. The staff are lovely, perky and attentive, the coffee was great. The restaurant itself is cosy and clean. Only the food felt dirty and not in a good way. So don't throw out the whole kit and caboodle but possibly get a chef that enjoys their job and puts even just the bare minimum in.

Noodle House Mitchell is a popular spot for those seeking delicious Asian noodle dishes and wok specialties. The restaurant offers an unassuming ambiance with the option of outdoor seating. It stands out for its Chinese stir-fries and a variety of menu options, including traditional Thai, Indian, and modern Asian fusion cuisine. One of its rare finds is the Singaporean black pepper crab from the dinner menu, featuring local mud crabs prepared in five different ways.
We didn't know this place was here until a friend told us. There is a carpark just 50 metres, or if you are lucky ones just out front. They were very quick to serve us and the waiter had a great memory as he remembered 8 drinks at a time. The food was delicious. The toilets are not for disabled people, as not very wide and a step to get in. They had round tables for big groups, so you could talk to everyone. I found it a little expensive ( but isn't everything these days). We will definitely be going back again. I highly recommend the Prawn spring rolls and the sizzling Mongolian Lamb. There is in and outside seating. If you like my reviews please follow us around Australia......

If you visit here, you should try their Signature Noodle. But I recommend eating that with another meal such as Fried rice since it gets a little bit salty after eating for a few bites! Very Nice Atmosphere.

Although this restaurant is called "Noodle House," it serves a wide variety of Asian dishes, and the menu offers many options. The mud crab has so many flavor options that it is hard to choose one. The mud crab is very fresh and tasty. The staff not only provided crab crackers but also thoughtfully offered gloves and aprons, so you can fully enjoy the delicious crabs without worrying about splashing sauce on your clothes. When the crab was brought to the table, its appearance, aroma, and flavor were all outstanding, even attracting a nearby diner who asked if she could take a picture. She ended up snapping several photos of the crab. It was an excellent dining experience.

6 of us went for dinner dine in, place was quite at that moment although it was a Friday evening. Ordered several dishes as we wanted to try their options. Unfortunately, the waiter heard Garlic prawns instead of Garlic oysters. Asked about the oysters and he replied you ordered garlic prawns. The dinner looked like Prawns party but we are still happy as the food was great. It would have been better if they could have noted the order correctly as it left us a bad taste.

Update: I've removed some stars because the most recent time that I visited Noodle House left me not wanting to come back ever again. We waited exactly 35mins at our table and not a single waiter/waitress took our order, they didnt even walk past us or make eye contact. We had reserved a table, and there were about 6 tables around us with people frustrated that their orders weren't being taken either. We sat at the tables outside - it appears to me that the indoor customers are highly prioritised, and the out-door folk get treated less-than. I have been noticing this practice getting worse over the years. We tried to get the attention of a waitstaff but they were just far too busy to even notice, yet they continued seating more people...only to not take their orders. I dont understand why they continued seating people if they couldn't even look after the current customers that were waiting for over half an hour. I stood up and returned the menu's inside after failing to get anyones attention, and walked out with my family to another restaurant down the road. The service has become so poor lately. The food is amazing, but far too overpriced; each year the food gets more and more expensive. Absolutely ridiculous for less-than average portions. Will not be returning again. This place has become an absolute joke. Again, to reiterate, it wasnt just my table that was waiting for over 30 minutes, the tables around us had been there much longer and still had their menus in their hands waiting for someone to take their order. Ps: these photos were taken over the course of a few years when I used to visit more frequently - back when someone actually took our order within minuites of us being seated.

This place was recommended and it did not disappoint. Big servings, delicious food, lots of menu options. I recommend ordering a variety and taking leftovers home. Highly recommend the Mongolian Lamb, salt n pepper squid, and the tofu and mixed mushrooms.

Italian restaurant
Alfonsino's is a delightful culinary gem that brings the essence of Italy to life with its wood-fired pizzas and homemade pasta. Nestled in an inviting atmosphere, this eatery offers a spacious patio where diners can enjoy their meals under the stars. The owners have created a charming spot known as Cucina Sotto Le Stelle, perfect for those looking to savor authentic flavors while relaxing outdoors.
Alfosino’s is my favorite Italian restaurant in the City! The menu changes regularly, so every time we visit, there’s something new and exciting to try. This time, we had the CARPACCIO as a starter — it was an absolute flavor bomb. The mustard seeds added a spicy kick, green rocket brought a nutty crunch, the black truffle sauce gave it a rich savory depth, and balsamic vinegar with fresh lemon made it bright and refreshing. The thin slices of rare beef actually reminded me of tuna sashimi. Absolutely delicious😻 We also had the LA FERRARESE pizza and a seafood pasta(forgot the name)— both were outstanding. We skipped dessert since we’re on our sugar diet, but still left completely satisfied. If you’re looking for the best food, service, and experience in the City, Alfosino’s is it!

The food at Alfonsino's is absolutely delicious! We couldn't fault any dish, and we went twice to try more from the menu. The manager/front of house man is so efficient. It has limited tables so make sure you book. Booking online is easy. Kids' meals are available and juat as tasty as the main menu. Highly recommended.

We arrived without a reservation and were kindly offered the last table available, just outside the kitchen. While the seating was a little hard (seat pads would be a thoughtful touch for this spot), I really appreciated that the team made space for us and apologized for the size of the table – thank you for the warm welcome 🙏🏻. For entrees, we had the seafood gratin which was delicious. A small suggestion would be to serve it with a little dressing on the salad and a wedge of lemon for the seafood – it would have really lifted the dish. Next came the Pizza Peppeniello, which was absolutely outstanding – one of the best pizza bases and overall pizzas I’ve ever had, even compared to those I’ve tried in Naples, Italy! Truly impressive, bravo 👏. We also enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara, which was expertly made and beautifully balanced. Overall, Alfonsino’s delivers excellent Italian cuisine with authentic flavors and a real passion for their food. With a few minor tweaks, it would easily be a perfect experience. Highly recommended if you’re in Darwin and craving real Italian!

Go there for the pizzas ! The dough is particularly delicious. Pastas are average. Shame that you cannot enjoy a S.Pellegrino sparkling water in an Italian restaurant, despite you find them in the supermarket. You better eat your pizza with your hands as the knives don’t even cut butter. Terrace is quiet and cosy at dusk. The tiramisu is ok, pistachio panna cotta is good. 4 stars still thanks to the excellent quality of the pizzas (prosciutto cotto e funghi).

Lovely outdoor dining. The food was outstanding. We had the linguine Alfredo and garlic cheese pizza. Finished with a pistachio cheesecake and vanilla Panna cotta for dessert. Jackie our waitress for the night was just lovely. Would highly recommend.

Nestled at the base of NT House, Rendezvous Cafe is a hidden treasure that has been delighting diners for over 30 years with its family-run charm. This cozy eatery specializes in a delightful fusion of Malaysian and Thai dishes, all infused with a Cantonese flair. One of their signature offerings is the laksa, which features wontons floating in a fragrant broth and is complemented by their house-made sambal—truly an experience not to be missed!
Me and my 2 friends visited yesterday at lunch time and the staff member name Deanne served us, she is an amazing person and giving us good costumer service. Very happy and smily member I went there specially to try the chicken leksa soup which I heard about that they have the best chicken leksa soup and it was really good as expected We tried some more food as well which was so yummy and good. Their lemon ice tea was very good too. I will suggest to all atleast once u have to visit this place.

On Saturday afternoon, we visited Rendezvous Café. It wasn’t too busy, and we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were very friendly. The café has a pleasant atmosphere and is kept clean and tidy. The service was impressively quick. I highly recommend trying the satay chicken with peanut sauce—it was absolutely delicious. The special fried rice and the combination dishes were also excellent. However, the seafood egg noodles were a bit too salty for my taste, and the seafood quality didn’t meet my expectations. Many people rave about their laksa. While I’m not a fan of laksa myself, it might be worth a try if you enjoy it. Overall, it was a good experience!

We were staying at the Hilton Darwin for one night and chose this restaurant for proximity to hotel and previous reviews. We were not disappointed. Lovely staff and fantastic food. It's BYOB but they told us that when we phoned to book so bought a bottle of wine to take with us. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant.

My partner lived in Darwin over 10 years ago and used to visit this restaurant all the time for the Laksa, at its old location. She wanted to bring me here for dinner and to enjoy the Laksa again. I had chicken and beef Laksa and it was phenomenal. Flavours were fantastic and the beef was so tender and basically melted in your mouth. Only in Darwin for a week but going to be stopping back in here for sure.

I ordered the won ton soup with extra won tons. When it came it had 4 won tons in it. I asked if they forgot the extra won tons- I get 5 won tons and an extra 5 at another place, which I prefer but they happened to be closed that evening. No you got your extra won tons was the reply- so I then clarified- so your WON TON SOUP only has 2 won tons? Yes was the reply!!! Absolutely embarrassed for them and won’t go again!!!!

Phat Mango by Martin the Chef offers a constantly evolving menu that showcases delicious and aesthetically pleasing plates, focusing on local seafood such as Coffin Bay oysters, Gulf of Carpentaria prawns, and marinated NT Spanish mackerel. The restaurant provides an unparalleled dining experience with its innovative dishes. Guests can expect a memorable culinary journey with each visit.
We had the best cocktails in Darwin so far and the meals were amazing as well. We had the chef's selection with pairing wines. Everything was fantastic but was way too much food!! Well that's hardly a problem...to be very critical, the zucchini was under cooked and bitter and the grilled prawns were over cooked, which i did pass it on to the staff at the time. I can not leave out the dessert...it was torturous because we were so full but the first mouthful of the pannacotta, i wanted the whole thing to myself 😋
DNA K — Google review
I waited long too come here! It didn't exceed my expectations. The food is ok, the menu isn't clear and there's not many options-mostly fish. I liked the Kanguroo tartare, I thought that was a special infusion of Australian food - the presentation could be a bit better The desserts were disappointing. The cheesecake was more like a scone. The Pannacotta looked like a cheesecake with a cookie base (too many flavours mixed). The scone bread was delicious, we asked for another one and got charged $5.50 (nothing is free in Australia, ok). The place is ok, no sound proof. The sea food was very tasty. To be honest, I would come back if they changed up the menu. Not the cheapest for what you get, compared to other restaurants here. Happy to come back to update my review:)
Andrea T — Google review
Overall it was a great experience, the service were great and the staff are very attentive. They ask for our honest opinion and constantly check if everything was ok throughout the night. Out of 8 dishes the slow roast with barley risotto in my opinion was under seasoned, and the desserts was probably the biggest let down because the honeycomb was slightly burnt and it left a weird after taste. However, everything else was great and would definitely come back next time.
Napoleao M — Google review
An excellent choice of restaurant using Australian produce and locally sourced items to create multiple pleasant flavour schemes. They have multiple plates, all delicious and rich in flavours. The share plate is a definite must, the wine list is great and extensive including some real gems ( check the museum selections) and the dessert list is divine. Also extremely helpful staff working there.

My husband took me to Phat Mango. We got the feed me deluxe. We enjoyed every course! Because we didn't know what was going to be served, it let us try food that we probably would not have ordered. Best prepared roo I've ever had. Also, my husband doesn't usually like cheese but he smashed the goat cheese gnocchi. A must try in Darwin
Mel C — Google review
Nice place, good service and creative menu. Just had some disappointments... Crocodile Laksa was a bit watery and lacked a bit oomph. On the other hand, it gives maybe more room for the subtle meat flavours. Steak was perfect. There was just something that tasted burned in the portion that ruined the taste a little

Laneway Cafe is my go-to spot for batch brew coffee—consistently excellent and full of flavour. It’s the only place I trust for a proper brew! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, even when the place is busy (which it often is—a good sign!). Great atmosphere, great coffee.

Very packed on a Friday morning compared to the other cafés and bakeries around. We ordered an eggs benny, a toastie, and two coffees. Interestingly, the eggs benny came out before the coffee, which isn’t usually the case elsewhere. It was served with smoked salmon and spinach on sourdough. The portion was just right for one, so we ended up ordering another toastie to share from the takeaway menu. Taste-wise, the eggs benny was average, and the ham and cheese toastie was pretty standard as well. Coffee was fine, nothing standout. Do note there’s a credit card surcharge, so I opted to pay cash. Prices are as listed on the menu with no extra taxes or hidden charges.

Great breaky, coffee and vibe but get some new knives. 🔪 I ordered the chilli scrambled eggs – it was delicious – although I would’ve loved a little more kick. My only criticism, and a pet peeve, is that the knife provided does not cut through their delicious crusty bread. Although entertaining – I don’t generally enjoy fighting with my breaky. Please give us some serrated knives. The coffee is always top notch, haven’t had a bad one yet.

Mindil Beach Casino Resort is a luxurious accommodation option in Darwin, offering over 150 rooms for both leisure and business travelers. The resort features a bustling casino, multiple restaurants, bars, and pools, as well as a day spa. Situated on 30 acres of tropical gardens by the Arafura Sea, it provides stunning sunset views over Mindil Beach. Guests can enjoy gambling at the casino until the early hours and then relax on the private white-sand beach in the morning.
My partner & I had a wonderful time at the Casino resort. It was the staff who truly made our experience relaxing and care free. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to do all the little things that make our stay carefree. It was such a treat to order room service & enjoy the view. Our ocean view room had a beautiful view of the sunset too. It was also quiet in the rooms & felt like our own little oasis!

The hotel itself and room was really well placed, incredible view of Mindil Beach😍. They did not properly clean the bath tub after the last guests, so that was not great to discover. A quick sweep/vaccuum of the room while they serviced the room would not have gone amiss either. Brought it up and they were very gracious. Everything else was amazing. Made a point to swim in either of their epic swimming pools when i could. Would stay here again.

Stayed for 5 nights. The room is never made up before 330pm - "there aren't enough staff" was the excuse The key to my room didn't work - after dinner. waited and waited. went back to reception and finally one of the managers came to "change the battery" in the door and told me it wasn't his problem he was just one of the "workers" it s great location but a 2 star hotel at best would recommend staying up in the CBD along the esplanade

I booked a lagoon pool access room through a Booking agent but they selected the wrong room so I went straight to the hotel reception to advise them it was wrong room, called the booking agent and they paid the extra as a room was vacant in a balcony lagoon view room for my stay unfortunately pool access all booked out - also side note book through mindil beach direct website to ensure you get the correct room, the hotel reception gave me 2 free drinks vouchers to apologise for the error. The reception, pool, cleaning and room service staff were all amazing and my room was beautiful couldn’t fault it definitely if you go, spend the extra for a lagoon room. Food and drinks were reasonable priced and the pools both infinity and lagoon pool beautiful - relaxing, definitely also book at the lagoon day spa treatment was amazing.

Despite its promise, we found most things about this hotel disappointing. As an older building, the rooms are echoey, and with tiles rather than carpets, it is very difficult not to hear your neighbours. Whilst some noise is to be expected, hearing your neighbours snore suggests the soundproofing is inadequate. It probably did not help that we were put in an interconnected room, with a single door separating us from our neighbours. I will never understand why hotels don’t separate guests by one room when they have the opportunity to do so! As the hotel is part of the casino complex which is open until 4am, noise is a constant and is not conducive to a good night’s sleep! On the positive front, the facilities at this hotel are excellent. The lagoon resort pool is open to hotel guests and this was the highlight of our stay. It has the only swim up bar in Darwin (apparently) and a beach area which is great for some down time. Unfortunately, the other hotel pool is open to the public at weekends and takes on a Bali beach club vibe with a resident DJ. Other things of note are that the food we had in the sports bar of the casino was not up to Darwin’s usual culinary standards, and the plumbing could do with some attention (the least we should expect is a functioning flush for the toilet!!!!). Overall, this hotel promised so much but was ultimately disappointing, especially having stayed at the Vibe/Adina at the Waterfront earlier in the week for a much better price and experience.

Date of event: 9/10/2025 My partner and I entered the building and headed to the reception to enquire where the pool entrance was. Before the lady on reception could respond to me, the security woman stood outside the casino door came over in a very rude manor to tell me I couldn’t be here “like this” and needed to get a tshirt on. (For reference I was wearing shorts, crocs, a bikini top and towel around my shoulder)she kept repeating over and over in a tone that I needed to get a top on. (All whilst I was getting my top on). The receptionist apologised for her behaviour, and directed us to the pool. As the receptionist was explaining the details of the pool, the security guard (Marina I think her name was) was still stood behind me rabbiting on to her colleague “she can’t come in like that”. I turned around to say “why are you still going on, I’ve put my tshirt on and there was no signage to state I couldn’t be at reception without a top on I was simply asking for directions”. She was in a huff and puff and continued to have a tone. I explained it’s a good job we wasn’t looking to book a night here as the first interaction was terrible!!!! Not what you expect for such a high end resort. That’s no way to treat guests. Props to the receptionist, she was fully capable of doing her job without the security guard coming over. On the other hand, the pool was great

Eva's Cafe is a charming spot located within the picturesque George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens in Australia. It has become a hidden gem for those seeking an enchanting afternoon tea experience, exuding rich history and exceptional flavors. The family-friendly cafe is popular with both locals and visitors, offering a blend of incredible history and delicious meals.
Give all 5 stars for all categories; food was really good; quality and taste wise. Big breakfast set is well worth it. Scones awesome. Love that the cream is not too sweet. Scones texture is bit different than what I have in the US, lighter, but that does not take any point away from my overall experience. Very nice atmosphere to sit and chillax. Another spot recommended when visiting Darwin.

I visited this café because it had good reviews, but I was really disappointed by the lack of hygiene. I’ve attached photos so you can see that my coffee was served on a visibly dirty, greasy saucer — completely unacceptable in any food establishment. It’s surprising that in Australia, which claims to have strict hygiene standards, food is still being served like this. The staff also didn’t wear gloves or hair coverings while preparing drinks, which would never be allowed in many European or Asian countries. This experience was genuinely off-putting. Who knows how they prepare coffee and other food!! I hope the management takes hygiene more seriously and trains their staff properly!! But I’ll still be reporting this to the local food safety authorities because customers deserve much better.

Staying in Darwin for a week, and we just found this gem today ( due to fly back to Brisbane on Saturday ) We wish to find it earlier and its a walking distance from our accommodation! Ordered the Laksa Egg Benedict with salmon ( it was scrumptious!! ), it sounded interesting on the menu, it looked good when it was presented and tasted delicious!! I would have it everyday for my breakfast!! Hubby had chocolate thick shake, and it was the real thick shake on the stainless steel cup ( which it should be ) unlike others they go on the glass! Hubby loved it!! It was thick, real milk and tasted so nice he said. The staff was lovely ( the lady with a blonde hair ). She was quick, friendly and welcoming! Plenty of tables at the front and at the back as well under the trees. The place was really nice inside the botanical garden itself. We could just sit there for the whole day enjoying their food and drinks. Plenty of parkings and dog friendly too. Also its disabled access too. We definitely will come again next time when we visit Darwin again! 👍☺

If you're keen on exploring Vietnamese cuisine, I recommend considering our restaurant. The flavors are good, the ambiance spacious, clean, and inviting, and the service is prompt and friendly. Food we tried: Hu Tieu Kho, Bun Cha and Spicy Beef Noodle (Bun Bo), Bo La Lot, ruby fried rice

Ruby Restaurant offers an interesting take on Vietnamese cuisine, but it leans more toward fusion than authentic flavours. While the dishes were nicely presented, they didn’t quite meet the traditional Vietnamese standards I was hoping for. Might suit those looking for a modern twist.

Our full experience at Ruby's the first time ensured we would be back during our week stay in Darwin. Appreciated the freshness and flavours of the food served and the kitchen accommodating our preference for a little more 'heat' in our green curry. Our second visit reconfirmed our previous dining experience there ... although we still had the dilemma of what to choose from the extensive menu, which I would describe as Asian fusion rather than specific Vietnamese cuisine. The professionalism and friendliness of the waiting staff should also be acknowledged.

Food was absolutely delicious. A grade quality and presentation. Especially love how the food is served hot and sizzling. Friendly service and they tend to you often.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Saigon Star is a delightful dining spot that beckons food lovers with its warm and inviting atmosphere. After returning from travels, I found myself craving something comforting amidst the rainy weather, and this place did not disappoint. With ample space and a central location, it’s perfect for both lunch and dinner—just be sure to arrive early as it tends to get busy.
Yum Vietnamese food. Lovely people. Great for lunch or dinner. Recommend the pork chop and fried egg dish or the special pho. Wonton (fried or steam) were good also.
Michelle K — Google review
Central, accessible, lots of space but come early for dinner. This place is popular and good. The food is tasty but the flavors are a little different. The chef is efficient with his cooking systems and the dishes come out hot and on time. The service is also efficient. Free water. I didn't test the Wi-Fi. But, the manager is a little strict with staff which is understandable given the number of clients. I didn't lime the unannounced surcharge for good Friday. If they want to open for Easter, it is not the customer's responsibility. Also note the price difference between lunch and dinner. 1$ cheaper at lunch, if you are on a budget.

Great food, heaps of flavour and generous serving. Friendly staff. I recommend at least trying it once. I will go back. 8/10

The most authentic Vietnamese Pho that we have had since returning to Australia. Love the depth of flavours. The chicken and seafood noodle soup was also amazing. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Meals came out in a timely manner. The only negative is the extra $1 per dish for dinner.
My A — Google review
Food is a little pricey for the amount given. I ordered the garlic fried chicken. The presentation looks really good but the chicken was too salty for me. I might come here again to try another dish but I wasn't impressed with my first time.
Eddie K — Google review
They were nice to the kids and gave us plastic plates and cups for them. The kids were noisy and the staff completely ignored them. This was appreciated. The crispy chicken was improved with salt. The price was typical of a city establishment. The toilet was clean but the floor was sticky. :o we accidentally left without paying but thankfully we left so slowly they caught us within ten metres.
Nim J — Google review
Their special pho and the dry egg noodles with crispy chicken is absolutely awesome. Won't be dissapointed with any choices.
Zinhan W — Google review
Pushy staff who almost throw you into a seat, overpriced (for the quality of food as well as compared to nearby restaurants) and the worst Asian meal I've had in a very long time. Wonton soup had massive chunks of carrot in it, floating in a tasteless broth. Seafood fried noodles looked good when it arrived, but honestly a pack of two minute noodles would have had left me feeling more satisfied. Do not eat here. Do not give this place business. It is in place to rip off tourists, nothing else.

Thai restaurant
Darwin's culinary landscape has evolved significantly, moving beyond its traditional offerings of laska, steaks, and barramundi. The new wave of restaurant owners is dedicated to celebrating local produce by incorporating fresh ingredients sourced from the surrounding natural environment. Among these dining gems, Sa-Bai Thai stands out as a beloved choice for those cozy nights in.
My wife was recently working in Darwin for three weeks, and this restaurant became her go-to place for dinner. She was thoroughly impressed with the outstanding service and how attentive the staff were to her dietary needs. A special shout-out to Deepak Pudel for his exceptional service—he went above and beyond to ensure her special dietary requirements were accommodated. The meals were not only delicious but thoughtfully prepared, making her dining experience consistently enjoyable. Thank you for the warm hospitality and care!

Pad Thai is insane ! And the kindest of people also! I’m coming every week for this !
Orain J — Google review
Mellow Thai soon had diners after opening at 5:30pm on a Sunday and also had a steady stream of pick up deliveries. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive, promptly receiving the menu and water. I ordered the Pad Thai Combination with a sweet, rich sauce and plenty of chicken, beef and seafood. The seafood consisted of a prawn, one scallop, crab sticks and pieces of squid. The dish was a decent serving and tasted nice although the beef was slightly tough, but the dish maybe difficult to cook due to all the different protein.
Alex L — Google review
The food is general very good, but the takeaway quantity is more than a little disappointing. This dish was around $20 and we received less than a container's worth of it. Will maybe avoid ordering from here next time. *I decided to give this a lower score as we received very small quantities for all of our dishes.

Mellow is opened. Reasonably priced Thai food on Mitchell street. I had the Drunken Noodle, sweet vegetable and beef noodle (17$) tasty, nicely decorated, bright clean, and popular. There is an outdoor area for the winter season. Centrally located, this Thai restaurant is worth a try.

As a lover of Thai food, the rice and cashew chicken were amazing, 5 star. Although, I was disappointed in the momo's, watery, and no flavour. Still a must place to try in darwin for their delicious Thai food.

Cove, a carnivore's paradise located within Mindil Beach Casino Resort, has undergone a transformation and now offers a fresh and vibrant dining experience. Overlooking the glistening swimming lagoon, this newly reopened restaurant presents a revamped atmosphere. Their menu showcases various top-notch beef cuts sourced from different parts of the country. Don't miss out on savoring the delectable Black Angus eye fillet hailing from Byron Bay, along with their finger-licking rib dishes.
Yummy yummy yummy It was fathers day 2018 (September) the restaurant was quiet full. Some customers there looked unhappy, however we couldn't be happier. Ordered the Barramundi, steak and pork ribs and the wagu burger. All the meals were delicious. Beautiful scenery, lovely waitress perfect evening.

We had a family dinner here to welcome in 2020. Firstly the front of house staff were outstanding. Couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a great experience. We all had a bit of a review of each of our dishes. The only main that wasn’t better than a 4 was the Mangrove Jack chefs special. It lacked depth of flavour and was topped with a creme fraiche or sour cream that was still almost frozen. The tuna also could have benefited from a little more seasoning. Although was very good. So with the marginal negatives out the way the other dishes including the oysters were exemplary. The eye fillet was cooked to absolute perfection and melted in the mouth. The green pepper Jus was the best I’ve had. Every dessert was outstanding. But a special mention must go to the star of the evening which fortunately was mine. The Parfait. Explosions of flavour. Divine. Our waiter’s wine matching was on point. Thank you.

What a great night out. The food was fantastic and incorporated over 16 Australian wild spices or flavours. Marksie's stories are fun and you never know what's coming next. Our kids had a great time spinning the billy and trying some bush tea. There's only room for about 40 people so book in early.

Wow Marksie made us really at home the moment we got there. There were 20 of us and with 5 different nationalities it made for an interesting evening. The casserole and damper were extremely delicious and was served by two lovely ladies. A few people were going back for 2nds and 3rds so I rest my case. To top off the evening we had gem scones with a special jam and cream, followed by authentic Billy tea which was spun 3 times. Marksie kept us amused by his story telling which was plentiful. A really enjoyable evening

4 th time eating here in the last 6 weeks. It’s been noticeable that portions are getting smaller. Service is still good but the finishing touches are not evident on the plate. Salt & Pepper shakers have yet to be replenished. And a sauce should not be an additional cost. It’s the small things that make a big difference to a good eating experience.

My first experience with Primal I ordered delivery. It was quick and warm when it got here, the food was plated up beautifully even in a takeaway box. Was a great portion of food and tasted so good. I do have to say some of the best sauces I've had and cooked perfectly. Will definitely have to be in for a sit down dinner. Happy to say it was well worth my money.

Absolutely amazing place, super friendly staff, delicious food. First time I came here I got the slow cooked longhorn steak. Wow! Most tender and delicious steak I’ve ever had, melts in your mouth. Super generous side portions - you get to choose any 2 sides. Also highly recommend the parma, cheeseburger and the southern chicken burger. All food was incredibly delicious! Staff were super attentive and helpful, gave a discount for the next visit.

Positives: First time going to this place today. Let me tell you, coming from a family of chefs this was delectable, the dine in meals came out fast, they were LARGE portions, and very good temperature. We ordered the flowered onion (fried and whole), we ordered the Louisiana chook both entrees. Then I had the parmigiana as my main with mash and veg. The mash and veg was perfectly cooked, though the mash tastes a little like packet mash. The sauce with the Louisiana chicken is a little spicy so if you can’t tolerate a little spice the sauce isn’t for you. But man oh man the crunch on the chook and the juicy chicken was incredible, was thoroughly enjoyable. The parmigiana was LARGE so much so I couldn’t finish it all. Great that they gave takeaways 🥰 Negatives: The drink I ordered was the summer one in the mocktails section, tasted great only issue I really had was the lemon seeds in the drink, lucky the straws weren’t big enough to suck them up otherwise we would’ve had an issue trying to fish multiple seeds out of the drink. We loved the Louisiana chicken so much we ordered some to take away, sadly to our disappointment the portion sizes were very different, much smaller and not as crunchy still very tasty and very juicy just not the same portion sizes as dine in (specifically regarding our dining experience) We also ordered take away chocolate churro and fruit fondu. The Churros are Exquisite as far as crunch goes but there is little to no cinnamon sugar on it. But the lack of cinnamon sugar can be covered up by the chocolate sauce and fruit eaten together bite by bite. The sauce also tasted Store bought which is still tasted good to me but may not be to everyone’s liking. The flowered onion, leaves much to be desired for, I definitely wouldn’t eat it by itself as it’s essentially just a whole onion fried up. The sauce was nice and it goes well with the main meal. Other: I must say they brought the mains out not long after we got our entrees which is okay. Just didn’t really get time to savour the entrees. The serves seems a little all over the place but generally very welcoming and accomodating. Also Incase anyone wants to know they have the MCCS discounts (for marines) Over all my dining experience was fantastic. Just a little disappointed with the takeaway serving sizes. And the wait for takeaway was MUCH longer than the wait for the main meal. Taste for those specific meals (besides the onion and the lack of cinnamon sugar) was great. Will definitely bring my husband and other family here again :)

Love Your Food/ Menu But I noticed that the prices displayed on your menu were lower than the actual prices charged at the counter, with a difference of $3–$5 per item. When I raised this with staff, I was informed that the menu reflects outdated prices. As a courtesy, I’d like to remind you of your obligations under the Consumer Commission guidelines regarding Pricing. # Businesses must clearly communicate accurate prices to customers prior to purchase and avoid misleading consumers regarding pricing or reasons for price changes. Non-compliance with these standards is considered misleading and may be reported to the ACCC.

Flavorful, Spicy, Authentic. Even though I had to ask for an extra side of chili. Not your average joe no spice butter chicken. The paneer masala was perfection! I love how traditional the food is compared to a lot of Indian places in Darwin. The service was good and we were checked on after receiving our meal. Such a great experience, we will be back regularly for our curry needs. 🍽️

Great place to dine in and the food is very delicious. The staffs also are absolutely great. The reason I’m giving 3 star is because on 3 consecutive occasions I’ve ordered via phone(one via Uber) and all the times the orders was either wrong or have innapropriate food. The staffs already stample the bag and can’t check it as the food was someone else dinner so didn’t want to open the bag. Upon calling they asked you to come back like seriously!!! This is really frustrating hopefully you can fix this. Overall will definitely recommend this restaurant and all the food on the menu is amazing.

Nestled in the heart of the Central CBD, My Friend's Kitchen is a charming family-run eatery that serves up authentic homemade Vietnamese and Asian cuisine. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for those who appreciate well-prepared comfort food. While some diners noted a preference for white onions over red and suggested more herbs to enhance their dishes, the rich flavors truly shine through.
Visited this lovely little restaurant on a Tuesday at 8.45pm. They accepted us even though they were closing in 15 mins (9pm) whilst they were extremely busy which I appreciated greatly. They warned me about the 30min wait and I am glad I decided to wait because it was so worth it! If I could give them 10 stars out of 5 I would because the food was simply delectable, flavourfilled and made to order so it came out piping hot. I ordered the grilled chicken rice paper rolls and the rare beef and ball noodle soup (Pho). My rice paper rolls were made with fresh ingredients that burst with flavours while my Pho had such an intense deep broth that came out smelling divine and tasted even better. The family that run this business really are so sweet and hard-working. In a busy street full of food options, this little place stands out the most to me. I will be visiting them again before I leave Darwin and recommend them highly!

Hard working people but we had to wait for too long. 30min wait for rice paper rolls and anther 25min wait to get the main dish. The thing was not many people were there in the restaurant. Small place but it wasn’t full or no food was getting ready for take away either. Food quality wise i had better Vietnamese places.

Kudos on the rice paper rolls - fresh, filling and delicious. The pho on the other hand was expensive and lacklustre. The only flavour was the onion and the noodles didn’t seemed to be cooked through or the right ones for the soup.

Great Value Thai in the City. I had dinner here tonight and was thoroughly impressed. If you're looking for delicious and authentic Thai food right in the heart of the city, this is an excellent choice. The location is incredibly convenient, perfect for a work lunch or a meal before heading out. What really stands out is the incredible value for money. The portions are very healthy-sized; you definitely won't leave hungry. For the quality and quantity of the food you receive, the menu is very fairly priced. I will say that the entire dish we had was very delicious, but once getting to main course it wasn’t the same pleasant experience. We know people have different preferences for spice levels and green curry’s are normally a bit spicy, so for someone who likes a bit of spice we still asked for mild. I could not handle how spicy this dish was to the point where I couldn’t eat anymore because I felt sick (and I hate to waste food). I know this can’t be managed that well even if requested, but the dirty glasses that we could not drink out of and the hair we found in the rice was not the best end to our evening.

Loud group of 7 on a Saturday night. Fabulous customer service, amazing food. Helpful knowledgeable staff who could guide our decision making and even though we were the only table left they did not try to push us out the door! The whole fish of the day (red emperor) was a stand out dish and for a group of 7 where only one person likes tofu, the Pie Pa Tofu was amazing! Thanks Connie we will be back again soon.

We visited this restaurant after hearing great reviews, and we were not disappointed. The ambiance was great, with comfortable seating and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they made sure that we were well taken care of. We started with crab and corn soup and steamed oysters with ginger and shallot. The crab and corn soup was more of a chicken corn soup with very few pieces of crab meat. However, the oysters were delicious, and they were some of the best I've ever had. For mains, we ordered steamed barramundi with vegetables and small seafood fried rice. The barramundi was cooked perfectly and the serving size was generous. It tasted great with the garlic sauce. The fried rice was decent, but it was not as good as the barramundi. The staff were lovely and warm, and they were always willing to help us. The price was a bit higher than other Asian restaurants, but it was worth it for the quality of the food and the service.

Best Chinese restaurant in Darwin City. Steamed Fish with Ginger and shallot is so good. Not fishy and very fresh. Their mud crab is also fresh and they have a tank of crabs for display inside the restaurant. Pie Pa Tofu is a must try. Very unique and tasty. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. I got the food here takeaway, twice, out of convenience since I was staying at the Novotel. Speed and service was a 5/5, but the food is quite expensive for it being oily and subpar; vegetables in the stir fry a little raw, and just not a worthwhile satisfying meal. I finished my meal regretting I had gone here. For future reference, next door inside the Mercure there is an awesome poolside bistro which is much better.

The best meal in Darwin! After spending a week having average meals, we finally found an amazing feed at Loong Fong. We shared hand made dim sums steamed, prawn toast, satay sticks, Mongolian beef, Szechuan chicken and pork and black bean. All were a taste bud sensation yet the Mongolian beef was a stand out along with the chefs satay sauce. I was traveling with a qualified chef and food reviewer, and both gave the chef their thanks. Even if you are a local, this place is worth a trip to the airport to experience. Along the pool at the Novotel.

Dropped in on a whim for a quick meal. The whole experience was a pleasant surprise, the service was good, the food was excellent and the price was more than acceptable.

Nestled in the lesser-known corners of Australia, Regent Court Chinese Restaurant stands out as a delightful culinary find. With an extensive menu that caters to diverse tastes and dietary needs, this eatery serves up dishes cooked to perfection. The addition of chili oil is a treat for spice enthusiasts! As the second Chinese restaurant in Katherine, it boasts a spacious layout reminiscent of classic suburban dining establishments with decades of history. Despite initial hesitations about Australian-Chinese cuisine, visitors quickly discover that Regent Court exceeds expectations.
Absolutely love this place! The food here is full of authentic Chinese flavors and suits my taste perfectly. Every dish is freshly cooked, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The stir-fries are bursting with flavor, the soups are rich and comforting, and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and attentive, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who loves genuine Chinese cuisine!

Vegeterian dishes can be made vegan but very limited menu. Food taste really amazing, and great service too.

When you're traveling through the remote parts of Australia you're not necessarily thinking you'll find the best foods. Especially as a vegetarian. So my delight when finding Regent Court was evident. With a delicious and large menu of options, you can get food for all palettes and dietary requirements. The food is delicious! Service is no fuss and simple. Decor not too different. Also, and somewhat strangely they wouldn't serve tap water though.

Had dinner here yesterday. Ordered the salt and pepper fish. As they normally use basa fish for this dish, I ask for the fish to be swapped with barra. What finally arrived was anything but salt and pepper fish. It was just chunks of battered barra deep fried with onions and minced garlic. It was just the same cooking style of sweet sour fish, without the sweet sour sauce..! As being someone from asia, i do know my salt and pepper fish. Just a waste of money and time.

Need a quiet place to chill out? Lovely old school decor of a Cantonese restaurant. Bought mostly vegetarian and was great. Veggies perfectly cooked and had plenty of chilli oil on the side for me. My mum had the quail which was also yum as. Sorry only a pic of the food half eaten as a gulped the first half. A welcome relief to roadside pies and chips 🥰

Food was simply dilicious. Service was great. I would say its the best chinese restaurant i have tried in Katherine.

Although we would normally avoid Australian-Chinese restaurants, in Katherine there were few other options. Unable to get a table on our first night due to it's great popularity, we returned (with a booking) with low expectations and initial amusement at the youth of the school age serving staff. This amusement changed to admiration as we were served with friendliness, interest and a willingness to help. The food arrived quickly and was surprisingly pleasant, with very generous servings. Pretty good for a local restaurant anywhere, and a gem in Katherine with good prices.

Pleasantly surprised to have such good Chinese food in Katherine! We ordered the Singapore chili crab (blue swimmers), and the flavours were really good (would be perfect if they served fried mantou with it to lap up all the gravy!) The combi fried rice was yummy too! Generous portions, good food at good value. Only let-down was the deep-fried ice cream, which was soggy. Overall a good experience tho (good service too), and i would come back if i ever visit Katherine again.

Exotic North Indian Cuisine offers a laid-back dining experience with familiar curries, naan, and tandoori dishes. Located in Darwin overlooking the Cullen Bay Marina, this restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere and authentic North Indian flavors. The owners' roots from Punjab bring a unique blend of northern Indian essence to the menu.
Been to this restaurant a few times in the past few weeks and I must say, it is one of the finest dining spots for Indian cuisine. The restaurant is located at Cullen Bay, right on the marina, and offers a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from. I highly suggest trying their Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken, accompanied by the Chicken Tikka Rice and Exotic Special Naan Bread as sides. The prices are very reasonable and the staff provide exceptional customer service, leaving a lasting and memorable impression. I highly recommend this place if you are in Darwin. Don't miss it!

On a personal taste and having eaten Indian food in many countries, unfortunately, this was not to my taste.. The location is fantastic, situated on the verge of a marina. Tables and chairs are basic wood with seating inside and outside. Service was fantastic from all staff! The food was a little bland for Indian food but we were a group 6 and there were mixed opinions.. Being a vegetarian there were quite a few dishes available so I took a paneer dish with rice and peshawari naan, the curry was ordered medium spicy but looks like they cater for westerners who don't like spicy foods, there was no kick to the curry. The peshawari naan was full of sultanas and no coconut or almonds plus very thin... I'm sure many will enjoy here but for me I wouldn't rush back....

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would like to take a moment to share my experience at Dragon Court Restaurant during our visit today. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and the staff presented themselves with professionalism and genuine hospitality. When placing our order, they thoughtfully explained how many dishes would be suitable for our group, which we truly appreciated. After serving, the staff checked in with us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction and to see if we needed anything further. The attention to detail and level of care provided was exceptional. A special mention goes to the manager, Nisha, who managed the team and the overall dining experience remarkably well. For our first visit, the service went above and beyond our expectations. Truly outstanding customer service, keep up the great work!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Dining Experience Me and my partner went for dinner at Dragon court restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The staffs were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional. Some of the best customer service I’ve experienced — it really made the meal special! On top of that, the ambiance was warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and excellent service in a lovely setting.

Great service! The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The food was good, but it was quite standard. While everything was prepared well, it didn't stand out or offer anything unique. Still, a solid choice for a reliable meal.

I went there for my yearly birthday dinner. The service was great but the food was not very good. When ordering I asked for the wings but they didn't have them even though it was on the menu, therefore the substitute was pork which was pretty bad. I also ordered the spring rolls which were strangely watery inside but the waitress asked if they were greasy. Again not a good choice. My main dish was the orange chicken which was unevenly cooked where the larger pieces were doughy (not cooked inside). Definitely not impressed and will never go back again. The best part of the meal was the bottled sparkling water. The next day I went to Happy Garden for a tenth of the price and I was very happy. I really was expecting better food. The strange thing was the questions from the staff like what exactly did you not like. I felt like a guinea pig for the restaurant which I paid $70 bucks to be experimented on. Dragon Court you must do better.

This is situated within the Casino and is very cosy. Best to buy just a few dishes and share them amongst a group which we didn't realise when we dined. It was $200 for 4 of us with drinks and we didn't finish all our food. The service was a little slow, we had reservations, but stood out the front for about 5mins waiting for someone to seat us (maybe some CCTV feeding into the kitchen from the front door or a bell might be a good idea?). Would go again, but order less next time.
