Loved how peaceful it was on a Saturday morning, with most of the crowd over at the market. We ordered a toastie, a roll, and coffee. It tasted like salt was sprinkled instead of pepper, so both the toast and roll were on the salty side. Still, I appreciated being able to customize my toastie by removing the cheese and adding an egg.

The bakery boasts an impressive range of baked goods. However, the apple donut left a bit to be desired in terms of moisture and flavor. The veggie pie was ok, but a little spicy. It would be appreciated if the service could be a touch more amiable and understanding, especially when warming up items is requested. A suitable spot to drop in if you're in the area, but not a top priority to visit.

The pies taste great, but the last 3 times I've brought them over the last month they are cold, tried again today only just warm. Sorry 3 strikes I've told the staff, seems like falling on deaf ears. That's the last time. A pity been getting great hot pies for years from there.

Just spent $11 on an Avocado, chicken and cheese sandwich - bread was stale, avocado was brown and dry! The one bite I had tasted terrible!

Spent a bit of time here on holidays,Great bakery! Absolutely delicious bacon eggs sandwich and lemon iced tea. Coffee is the bomb!

Have had both Takeaway breakfast & lunch .Food fantastic, & sourdough bread is really good but far too long a wait for the food ,especially just for a toastie as they were premade just had to be toasted .Staff were friendly enough .

CUP CAKE MIX WAS CHEAP AND GLUGGY The service was really good considering I placed the order at the last minute. However if you’re expecting quality, it isn’t there. Not much effort put into making sure the experience of actually eating the cupcakes was enjoyable as the texture was as if they weren’t cooked enough/not aerated. More like muffin mix and the flavour was floury. Although they looked pretty from the outside, the icing also missed the mark.

Absolutely beautiful cakes. We had a cheesecake and a marble cake for the 4year and both went down a treat. Staff were great with communication and accommodating our delivery. Would highly recommend

Kurt is amazing! He listened to everything I wanted for my wedding cake and it was just beautiful. My young niece said it was “yummy, moist and delicious!” I have to agree! I came here specifically because I saw a review on Facebook about a guy rating vanilla slices all across Australia. I agree with his review, this vanilla slice was incredibly tasty. I happened across two customers devouring them in the generous seating area who said it was delicious. $6.50 - The custard filling wasn’t too sweet, perfect consistency - light and fluffy. The pastry topping and bottom was crisp not soggy and the icing the ideal thickness, not sickly. It’s a generous serving, I had half and it was plenty for me. The hardest thing was trying to eat it without getting it squished all over my face haha. Highly recommend!

I love this bakery so much! i even think they serve the bestest cakes in the entire Darwin city. The price is affordable, the taste is incredible. The staffs and owner are really nice and warm people too. The roast beef toasty is my fav there. All cakes are good actually. Some people also recommend to try carrot cake there 👌🏻

If you looking for an authentic flavourful cake this is your place I can’t recommend enough Kurt’s is the best pastry chef up here! My go was vanilla sponge cake with chocolate custard topped with extra decorations (macaroons)for my hubby special slice on his Birthday.

The chunky beef was very tasty and the crust was baked to perfection. The gravy is thick and not overly salty. In my opinion, the best pie shop in darwin. Had my first vanilla slice here and it was amazing as well. Highly recommend!

Great variety of pies. You can also get frozen ones to take home. Steak and kidney, Pepper steak ,and steak and onion are really good. I ll come back and try their loaded pies with mash, peas and gravy.

There are excellent choices of pies and chips available, with every imaginable flavor. The service is highly efficient, and the shop is well-maintained. A wide range of takeaway food options is available, including fresh sandwiches and rolls, making it the perfect spot for a delicious lunch. I highly recommend visiting this place.

Picked up a few frozen pies for our travels and enjoyed every one. Each pie is of proper no-nonsense size and weight, something too many bakers and shops severely fail on which is sad for the consumer! The chicken pie was one of the best we’ve had flavour wise, it just needed a few bigger chunks of meat to seal the deal. All other pies were honest with their flavours but could do with a bit more of a kick or boost in ingredients to get our 5 stars… extra jalapeños, more bacon/cheese flavour etc We would happily drop in again for more pies

Yummy pies..💋…. me and my husband we went there first time to try . Oh my God we end up having another one . Coffee is good and the young lady behind the register was so lovely welcoming and helpful. We are definitely going back.

Best Bakery / Cafe in the NT. If you have had Tommos Pies while traveling around the NT i'd encourage you to come get one directly from the source.

Meat pies are very rarely available in the US and more of a specialty item. You'll find them in various forms, from frozen pot pies to restaurant offerings, and even some regional specialties. Tommos Pies are fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to try them all.

The meat pies are good, particularly the pepper one. There are some impressive looking pastries too that would have tasted much better with fresh cream rather than fake.

Great selection of quality food and drinks at really good prices. Some places gouge you when you are in remote locations, not this place very reasonable and exceptional quality. Very good range of really health food and also awesome pies and cream buns and the like!!

Expensive but bloody good food, one of the trade offs for a remote location. Second best shop after the bottle shop.

I had Beef Chilly pie lovely lingering taste in the mouth has a little spicy kick to it.

Not sure about the rest of the goods but the pies are the best! Good and hot too.

I am really disappointed with the service. You might be making good cakes but I feel service is important. Would never recommend to anyone because I don't want my friends to go through what I have experienced. You just spoiled my day...The only suggestion please be kind to all your customers.

I have always heard this place does great cakes. I have always been meaning to try them and I just did and I am glad I did. Worth every cent. The cake was so yummy. Nice and moist and light and not too sweet. I have ordered a cake for my sons baptism too so we will look forward to that. If you haven't tried them yet do not leave it because it might be out of your way. They are worth the journey. Plus great customer service. Asked many questions and wrote plenty details down.

Have been ordering from this little family shop for many years. The quality of food has not changed since I was a child, always fresh daily. My personal favourites are the Milfae (best to get at lunch as it always sells out), the profiteroles, and the chocolate mousse cups. Family very lovely too.

VERY RUDE, NOT POLITE AND DOES NOT RESPECT CUSTOMERS. We have been a long-time customer for this shop, went there Saturday morning (10/Feb/2024) to order a customized cake. We discussed with the girl available sizes and pricing, the largest size as she said is starting from $220.0 and the smaller size according to her is in the range $120-$175. We agreed to come later to bring the design, which we did and came one hour later. We gave the design, and the girl took all the details, we decided to go with the smaller size. The girl went inside and checked with Dimitrios, and came back saying the price is $275.0. I know it is their shop and they can charge whatever they want for their service. I just asked her to go back and confirm it is the smaller size that we want not the largest (this is way above what she quoted earlier). Everything was quiet and friendly. She went inside and few minutes later Dimitrios came out and he was very angry, and his lips were shaking, he took the papers with the details and teared them in our face, saying in an angry and non-respective voice “I CAN NOT MAKE YOU CAKE, GO OUT”. We did not say a word and left, but I will never ever step into that shop again and will spread the word. Very disappointing behaviour from a local business, I used to visit very frequently. I went directly to another business and ordered the cake.

Delicious desserts in a very reasonable price. If you are confused about any food items , they provide detail information with smile. Lovely people and shop at convenient place with parking facilities.

great little, tidy, lovely shop. Delicious milfai. Oh, they made the best vanilla sponge cake, it's sooooooo good. Not too sweet and the custard is just amazing.

Friendly service, decent coffee and food. It's outside of the Foodcourt which gives it an advantage as it's in a quieter spot outside of big W. The coffee was hot, they even have smiley faces on the bottom of the coffee cups looking up as you drink. It's hard not to get a little happy when you see that. Also their rewards system will get you every fifth coffee free plus a coffee and muffin on your birthday.

No offer to warm up cakes. My daughter had a Duffin and I had a scone. Both tasted stale and would have been better warmed through. The scone in particular was dry and crusty around the edges and doughy in the middle. Not the first bad experience here - even when not busy

The Duffins are still AMAZBALLS!!! But the furniture let it down alot, it was rather rickety, dirty and the leathers seats were ripped. If you want 5 stars your dining area needs to be looked after too.

Service is slow and variety of products is poor! We went there late morning specifically for the Duffin - "giggle, giggle, there's none, everyone keeps asking for them!" Doh, well, why not stock what people want? We finally received our order - the vanilla slice was disgusting (hubby left 3/4 of it) and we weren't given paper napkins with our food. Queue again, no customers ahead of me, but no, we are too busy talking behind the counter. We help ourselves to the napkins, when we finally found them, only to be given the stare of death. We won't be back!

Took them ages to make a small hot chocolate while they were serving other people that came after me. No apology given whatsoever. Cake slice was horrible too. Won't be coming back.

After being recommended to this bakery for their great pies , the chunky steak in particular, I was disappointed at 11.30AM they had no chunky steak pies left . We decided on the mushy peas pie ,the pie had plenty of peas but the pie itself had very little flavour , in my opinion it was quite bland. But don't just take my opinion,do try them for yourself . The hot crossed buns were tasty at $10 for six .

This is my go to bakery for the best plain meat pie, actually any pie in Darwin. Their focaccia is totally delicious and everything else they offer is simply yum. I also order their mud cake for birthdays, it’s to die for. Great bakery, great service, so friendly.

Sensational..!! I reckon the pastry chef has got it perfected. This Bakery is my go to for the Meat pies and great service. The beef curry pie is really good and goes good with a Steak and onion pie Yummo! I rate this Bakery 9.5/10 keep up the Go you good thing!!

I usually make a purchase at least twice a week. Today however I was very disappointed with the Ham and Salad Roll. Usually there stuffed with salad vegetables and are totally yummy but today it seemed that someone else had made them even wrapped differently, It seemed the roll maker was put on a budget. The rolls were just very average and boring. I hope the new owners are as dedicated as the previous owners. Please make the rolls as they where before. Update on review. Went there today 13th January and they have redemed them selves. Got a chicken and salad roll and it was full of salad veggies and so yummy . The young man with the tattoo is very good at his job ,please leave him as the roll maker.

The donuts and cream buns are tasty and not too pricey to boot. (Haven't tried ought else yet tho).

The pies and cakes are amazing. I may have over catered with this mud cake but it’s that good we’ll happily eat if for the next few dates. To top it off our 3 trips to Outback Bakery were all met with awesome customer service. Will certainly be back whenever I’m in Darwin

The public can't buy food from here

We have been a client of Palmerston Bakery for nearly 10 years and wouldnt go anywhere else. They deliver on time, they are thoughtful when we needed to change the order of bread we wanted to use and went and purchased us new pans just for our business.
