Nestled in the charming town of Elgin, The Ditsy Teacup is a delightful spot for those seeking a light lunch or an indulgent afternoon tea. With a menu that features freshly made soups and scones daily, this cozy café also offers an array of treats including traybakes, cakes, brownies, sandwiches, wraps, and baked potatoes.
I don't think one can find more of an enchanted place than this, where lovely faeries are taking care of your palate with sublime homecooked cakes and scones. we had a tea and a latte with sweets and cakes, watching the staff preparing next day sweets while doing their magical bakery was a surprising addiction to an already wonderful experience. do pass by and grab a bite when u can, if you're lucky enough to be local i am sure you know the place already but if you find it by chance, let yourself be enchanted.

Searched Google for places to eat breakfast whilst visiting and came across The Ditsy Teacup. What a find. Excellent food. Friendly, helpful and polite staff and a really pleasant setting. Will definitely visit again when next in the area. Trying the homemade fresh scones is a must!
Charlie A — Google review
We popped into The Ditsy Teacup a little after 2.30 on a weekday and were greeted with such a warm and genuine welcome The atmosphere was calm cheerful and instantly put us at ease Lunch was just what we needed We had paninis with fresh salad and crisps everything tasted homemade and the portions were surprisingly generous My daughter had the coronation chicken and was absolutely delighted to find it had no raisins or bits of fruit finally one that gets it right The service was thoughtful and kind without being over the top and we never felt rushed I even noticed another customer came in well after 3 and was still warmly welcomed for a drink which really shows the attitude of the place For context we had first tried Batchen Street Coffee around 2.15 after reading good reviews but were turned away quite abruptly by the man behind the counter even though they were still open and not busy No explanation and not exactly friendly So pleased we ended up at The Ditsy Teacup instead It turned a frustrating start into one of our nicest moments of the day and we will absolutely be back
Sunny K — Google review
What a lovely little tea shop. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast. One staff member had just begun her training and we were warned that service might be slightly slower than normal. My daughter asked if she could charge her phone and that was not a problem. Thank you Ditsy Teacup.

What a nice place! This is a cozy little treasure and we really enjoyed our breakfast and the heartwarming athmosphere.

My wife loved it a real neighborhood staple for a tearoom place. The two women that run the treehouse really pour they're heart and soul into it. Everything seems to be made fresh and from scratch and looks homemade in the best sence of the word. Hidden little treasure

A lovely place which served properly hot food which was really appreciated. Service was brilliant and if your in town you should definitely call in here.

Batchen Street Coffee is a popular independent coffee spot located on one of Elgin's most vibrant streets. The cafe is known for its delicious breakfast offerings, featuring options for both omnivores and herbivores. They serve their own hand-roasted, single origin coffee alongside a variety of hot drinks. In addition to their breakfast and lunch menu, the cafe also offers a selection of brewing equipment for serious coffee enthusiasts.
Great cafe serving traditional and unique breakfast options! We had delicious chai lattes, Smoked Salmon Benedict and the French Toast Special. All items were delicious and filling!

We wanted to find a new caf that we had never gone to before. And we got there and there is 30 minutes before closing, and there are very accommodating, especially with my 2 little girls that decided with 10 minutes to closing, wanted some food, and even though the kitchen was closed and being cleaned down, they still made them some toast with jam. So yes, I'm very welcoming and nice little cafe.
Richard S — Google review
Amazing coffee, and always a consistent taste, staff are always pleasant and friendly. We have now changed our shopping days to Elgin to coincide with their opening times. Probably the best coffee in town
Jan E — Google review
Batchen Street Coffee Shop is my absolute go-to café in Elgin! They have the BEST coffee & the chicken, tomato, avocado & siracha mayo toastie is sooo tasty!! The cakes aren't too bad either ;) my latest favourite is the croissant with scrambled egg, bacon & maple syrup. I wasn't sure about the combination before I tried it but it was so good! The service is always amazing - the team are brilliant & really look after you when you visit. I can't recommend it enough.
Chloe D — Google review
Really great speciality coffee shop in Elgin - stopped in for a coffee and ended up getting lunch too. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and they have a great selection of retail condiments and coffee/tea kit. Was pleasantly surprised to see V60 on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed the Ethiopian beans.
Phoebe R — Google review
We were on holiday in the area and around 2pm I looked up cafés nearby and this one came up with great reviews so we decided to give it a go. Walked in at 2:15 and waited politely at the entrance. There was only one table of customers inside so I asked the gentleman behind the counter if they were still serving. His response was a very curt “no” with no further explanation. Online it clearly says they’re open until 3pm so we were a bit taken aback by the abruptness. I later checked the reviews more carefully and realised quite a few people had mentioned the same attitude. A shame I didn’t spot that earlier really We ended up going to The Ditsy Teacup instead and what a difference. Warm friendly service and we were happily tucking into lovely paninis by 2:40 according to my phone photos. Won’t be returning here but at least we found a new favourite elsewhere ——————————————— Reply to the owner: Thank you for your response. I understand that kitchens have closing times, and that is completely reasonable. However, when my child and I arrived, we were simply told “we don’t serve food” with no further explanation or offer of drinks or cakes. I said “okay, thank you” and we left. The interaction felt a little abrupt and didn’t quite feel very welcoming. Maybe he assumed I wouldn’t understand, which is a shame. Both my child and I noticed this and were a bit disappointed. Fortunately, we found a lovely café nearby and enjoyed the rest of our afternoon. I hope future guests have a warmer experience at your place. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I will leave it here and hope this feedback helps improve things moving forward.
Sunny K — Google review
lovely place, with friendly staff. Great variety of cakes and hot drinks! I had a Mocha and a Banoffee cake both were delicious, and even got a biscuit for the dog! Thanks for your reply! but having just read your post on facebook that Dogs may no longer be welcome, I very much doubt you will see me again as the only reason we visit is because you WERE dog friendly! 🐶☹

Great coffee, great food , lovely friendly service from the manager and young staff and a wonderfully laid back relaxed vibe , why are all cafes not like the Batchen? a breakfast naan with bacon and egg and a fab flat white x 2 , excellent place for a light lunch when in Elgin

Pancake Place offers a vast array of delectable options and an impressive variety. However, some of the younger employees lacked competence, as they struggled to identify the pancakes they were serving and failed to follow up with customers. Additionally, one milkshake was tasteless and required multiple reminders from a forgetful staff member. The restroom facilities are in need of renovation as they are outdated and unclean. Despite these drawbacks, Pancake Place's cuisine is enjoyable.
Large group which resulted in slightly slower service than but the food was fresh and everything was eaten. Drinks were all great , recommend the tuna toastie or baguette, pancakes were healthy portions, decor slightly dated but gives the feel of a local place to eat
Alan S — Google review
Looks small and outdated but really cosy and big inside. First thing first so there is a bit of musty smell when you enter. And once you sat down you can’t help but notice stains all around the sitting area while you wait. The food itself was spot on, huge portions and tasty apart from lentil soup which was extremely hot but tasteless. All in all I will recommend if you’re looking for breakfast, awful coffee so stick to tea maybe.
Izabela B — Google review
Had pancake stacks and they were delicious. One would’ve us done us both! Decor and furniture a little dated and tired. But service was excellent and dog friendly, so a big win for us. It was extremely busy when we were there on a Saturday around 12:30pm and service was excellent and didn’t wait long for our delicious pancakes. Looks much smaller outside but extensive seating through the back. We would recommend and definitely return for delicious pancakes.
Billy A — Google review
Me and my friend were the only people in at 15:45 on a Friday so the atmosphere was dead. Service was slow considering nobody else was needing waited on and food looked like a 4 year old cooked it. Wouldn’t recommend. I had the ‘dirty fries’ which were chips with packaged and presumably microwaved chicken, dry bacon and a splurge of mayonnaise with some spring onion. My friend had a very moist chicken wrap which was both warm and cold. On the positive side the desert was chocolate pancake with whipped cream which was actually not too bad and the staff were nice and polite.
Olly K — Google review
Huge quantity and lovely selection. However some of the young staff weren't very good. No idea which pancakes they were bringing and didn't come back to confirm. 1 milkshake had no flavour and waited 10 mins had to ask the young girl again as she forgot. Toilets needs sorted, outdated and dirty. Which is a shame as food was nice
Katie M — Google review
I was after breakfast and my better half wanted pancakes so no better choice than Pancake Place. The facilities are OK, starting to show its age a bit but, the food is spot on and the staff are great. This was my second visit. Thank you Pancake Place.
Stu's T — Google review
My partner and I had a delicious breakfast during our trip to Elgin. The staff was super nice and the food was simple and lovely. We even came back for lunch the next day! Definitely recommend!!!
Caroline L — Google review
It was a really great experience at the Pancake Place. Looks small from the outside, but there's plenty of tables in the inside. It has a lot of booths and it feels like an American Diner. Very cosy, staff very friendly. The pancakes are AMAZING. However, I give it four stars because the coffee was not very good, nor the onion soup. Go for the tea and the pancakes!

Decora Ltd is a delightful destination that combines a charming café with an extensive retail space, perfect for those who love home and garden decor. On my first visit, I opted for the lunchtime fish and chips special, which was not only generous but also offered great value. The café serves up delicious home-cooked meals alongside ample seating options, making it an inviting spot to relax.
My wife and I visited Decora today to check the status of an order and to have breakfast in Miller's cafe. Double success as our order had just arrived and will be delivered on Friday morning. The breakfast as always was lovely and served by enthusiastic and friendly staff. It's always a pleasure to visit Decora with nothing too much trouble for the dedicated friendly staff.

Decora's is a nice place to go, love walking around the shop and garden area. Slightly disappointed in the food. I was told that the chicken fillets which are dairy free, would be put into a fryer that products with dairy have been in. In theory this isn't dairy free then 🤣. The server at the counter was nice enough to inform me of this.

Normanlly cafe 1st class but today tables not wioed down when cleared and had to ask for it to be cleaned. Counter staff at coffee station couldnt be bothered mixed two orders out if two very off had when poited out and then said if you want to replace it wit a large you will have to pay for that on also!! Wont rush back in a hurry to coffee shop!!

There christmas section is beautiful as always. It was a bit tricky to maneuver my mum's wheelchair up the steep ramp leading to the cafe and some of the aisles are a bit small with some items blocking the middle of them for a wheelchair to get throw especially in the kitchen and bathroom section of the shop. Other than that it's a nice place to visit.

An amazing Aladdin's cave of stylish items for the home and garden. Decora always has items in every size rather than just standard items. Within the store is a very large cafe serving wonderful home cooked food, with a large choice of items. The garden centre outside has a large variety of plants along with all items needed for the garden.

Bijou is a delightful gem in town, perfect for those seeking a cozy spot to indulge in delicious treats or find the ideal gift. The café boasts an impressive selection of homemade scones and cakes that are simply divine, paired with smooth and flavorful coffee. Since its reopening post-COVID, Bijou has implemented thoughtful safety measures like tasteful dividers between tables and a robust cleaning system using red/green cards to indicate table readiness.
Stopped in past for a quick coffee and cakes. Was pleasantly impressed with the service, nice coffee and scones. Toilets were lovely, clean and fresh smelling too!

Visited with a wheelchair to get a take-away coffee, of course this was an issue as the cafe is upstairs! However, a lovely member of staff (with a great fringe!) kindly ordered upstairs for us and had it brought down. It was very nice and made our day.

Very good coffee, hot chocolate and cinnamon pancakes. Staff could not do enough even split the cinnamon pancakes into two portions

Great place, always great food and very friendly staff. Food is always served quickly. Now has screens up for social distancing and they've moved the till too. The stairwell can get a bit crowded especially as its very popular and gets a lot if customers. However its always a really nice place to go for a cuppa and scone or soup n sandwich.

In our opinion this is the best coffee shop in town. The photos do not do it justice. Their homemade scones and cakes are amazing and the coffee is so smooth and tasty. Since reopening after covid they have set up an excellent system with really tasteful clear dividers between the tables, there is a very robust cleaning/sanitising system in place using red/green cards on the tables to show which ones are ready. We visit on a regular basis and all of the staff are so friendly and efficient even whilst being busy.

Starbucks is a coffeehouse chain based in Seattle, known for its unique roasts, light snacks, and availability of WiFi. The cakes offered at this establishment are particularly impressive, especially during themed occasions like Halloween when they become gruesome works of art. Additionally, teenagers often find savory options that pique their interest before indulging in sugary treats. This coffee shop is a convenient stop while shopping and has recently relocated across the road with excellent and incredibly friendly staff who provide exceptional service.
Stopped in for a cold drink whilst in Elgin. The staff were really friendly and polite, and recommended a few drinks to us, which we did purchase. Everything was made quickly and tasted lovely.
Emily K — Google review
Just had THE WORST cup of coffee ever. I ordered a decaf with almond milk. My tag on my cup didn’t say decaf so I went to inquire if it was indeed decaf. The staff member was borderline dismissive and told me it was decaf. What’s the point of putting your order sticker on if it isn’t accurate? I then tasted my coffee and it tasted awful. So I went to ask why it tastes like marzipan and the same staff member rolled his eyes at me and said it’s because it was made with almond milk. I order the same coffee (decaf latte with almond milk) wherever I go (other Starbucks outlets included) and NEVER EVER had the almond milk made my coffee taste like marzipan. So either Starbucks has changed their almond milk supplier or the branch in Elgin is using a different supplier. I’m so disappointed as I’ve been craving a great cup of coffee and the drivel I drank tonight fell dismally short. In addition the store was dirty, unorganized and had a distinct feeling of being unkept.

Really nice place to just grab a bite and settle down for a coffee. I hadn't been here for a while so I was surprised it had revamped and moved across the square but it looks fab! The staff are all exceptionally friendly and they certainly make the visit a welcomed one. I find in a lot of starbucks, the cold drinks usually taste super weak and watered down but that wasn't the case here. Overall a really nice experience!

Nestled in the heart of Elgin, 19 Crepes&Coffee is a delightful café that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. During our visit for lunch, we were treated to an array of delicious options including a hearty soup and a pulled pork panini, both of which exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere buzzes with a bohemian charm, making it clear why regulars are on first-name terms with the staff.
I think this was the best breakfast I've had in Elgin. Good quality ingredients really could not fault anything. My girlfriend is particularly fussy and wanted specific items and gluten free breakfast. Usually this would be a problem but waitress not phased by this and dealt with our order with no issue even suggesting options. Very happy and we will return👍🏻

Stopped here for lunch during a bus tour — best food stop we’ve been on! The latte was delicious, my husband’s lemon lime tea was refreshing. The crepes were stuffed full, and there was an option on the menu for everyone! The staff was extremely friendly and personable. Our only regret is that we didn’t save room for one of their fabulous desserts! If we ever find ourselves back in Elgin, this will be our first stop!!

Costa Coffee is a beloved counter-service coffee chain that serves up an array of hot beverages, refreshing iced coolers, delectable sweet treats, and satisfying sandwiches. Many patrons enjoy their visits for the quality of the coffee; favorites include mochas and coconut cappuccinos. While some locations may benefit from a little refurbishment, the friendly staff often make up for it with their warm service and helpfulness. Customers appreciate the cozy atmosphere where they can relax with a delicious latte or snack.
Got a 3 shot coffee and a mini berry festive cake that was lush. Atmosphere i scored low. I was in just 5 mins after it opened at 7am so ... it was a bit early. They had ran out of hot chocolate powder however with cocoa the way it is that's expected for a delay

Could do with a refurbish but the service was amazing, I was served by Cora she was so nice and so quick with my coffee even took time to show my how the app worked and helped me get my first bean. Made my experience very pleasant :)
Yowann — Google review
I don’t normally leave reviews however the service in here is so poor I feel it’s needed. This has to be the slowest barista/service I have experienced. I’ve been in here a few times over the year to grab a “quick” coffee before work but the workers are painfully slow. Cream runs out- no replacement cream so everything stops while that one barista gets another one. No skimmed milk in fridge so everything stops while they go and get more from the back. No tables free apart from dirty ones with used plates and cups, que all the way back to the door. One barista making drinks with 6 tickets on the counter and you’re waiting 15 minutes to get a coffee to grab and go. Every visit I have had this has been the experience I have had more or less. More training and improved service flow is needed. Every other costa I’ve been in, in the surrounding areas is brilliant. This one always is a awful experience.
Connor M — Google review
I'm lost for words, food hygiene was awful having meat liners on the vegetarian chopping board, brand standards wasn't met for drinks, employees with unwashed hands touching the rim of the cups and allergens not met to the requirements on coffee what is very scary to think about. The bar was very unhygienic for a food establishment! Coming from an employee from costa in a diffrent district more training needs required ASAP !

Horrendous service for what seemed a busy Costa. I'm not a lover of Costa due to they only do Soya milk to replace dairy milk and for someone who can't have dairy and hates Soya there could be another option like Almond or Cocnut milk. Today the staff didn't know what they were doing, one employee took our order then walked of to clean tables leaving 3 other employees behind the counter who didn't know our order waited for first employee to return who then took order again then passed it on. By the time the last drink was poured first was cold also due to teapot not having a lid they put a small espresso cup on top which made the tea spill everywhere. Not a great coffee break😣

I'm regular customer at Costa, today I have visited Costa at retail park with my partner. We always enjoyed our stay there with good coffee, my partner loves mocha and my favourite is coconut cappuccino .Cosy atmosphere and friendly staff as usual.

Manna is a popular spot known for its healthy and fresh juices, smoothies, wraps, bagels, and pittas. The cafe offers a variety of breakfast options such as turkey, bacon, and scrambled egg bagels or homemade porridge with various toppings. While primarily a takeaway place, there are limited seats available. Customers praise the delicious soups like sweetcorn chowder and spicy lentil soup.
Lovely people making splendid food. I dropped in between a bus and train stopover and the folks at Manna made me feel welcome as a local. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely lunch at Manna in Elgin. It's a small, cozy spot with a really nice atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. Great service and a relaxed vibe—I'll definitely be back!

Food was amazing, some of the best salads I’ve had in a while, with freshly made smoothies made on the premises. The restaurant is a bit small so if you want a seat I’d advise being there early but they do a takeaway service if it isn’t available. Customer service was excellent with very friendly and approachable staff.

Stopped in for a coffee and was instantly tempted by a slice of homemade pecan pie. There are so many gorgeous homemade cakes to choose from! While I relaxed with the paper, the freshly prepared lunches started coming out and looked absolutely delicious. I only wish I’d had time to stay. This charming, family-run café serves excellent coffee, a fantastic selection of fresh juices and shakes, and everything has that true homemade touch. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to come back soon to enjoy lunch as well.

Another delicious trip to manna. We tried the Reuben and chipotle pork bagels from the specials board today, as well as the 'local' juice. Beautiful presentation, and even better service! ❤️

SO good. Catered for 8 of us no problem. Lunch, smoothies and vegan cakes - all delicious & friendly staff too. Thank you 😊

Manna is my favourite place to eat in Elgin. Excellent kind service where the food is amazing with specials that never fail to deliver. They often do a chilli corn coconut chowder that is the best soup I've ever had. Juices are freshly made and I would recommend the limeade as it's punchy and refreshing. Wide range of cakes so there's always a treat.

Really great wee place, fab range of food and drink options - a nice mix of healthy & wholesome and decadent & delicious, all super flavourful! Nice Friday night specials too! We enjoyed awesome beef brisket sliders & Irish nachos for St Patrick's Day!

Café Kombucha is a charming rustic café with a wide variety of tasty food options. The pizza was expertly cooked, featuring a thin and fluffy base that had crispy edges. The falafel burger was also delightful, offering an enjoyable eating experience. Additionally, the café serves cauliflower fritters which could benefit from a dipping sauce to enhance their flavor. The bathroom's door-handle flusher and bicycle pizza cutter added unique touches to the overall ambiance of the place.
Pretty awesome little rustic cafe. Pizza was cooked well, thin fluffy base with crispy edges, and falafel burger was pretty yum too! Also had cauliflower fritters but found them to be lacking a little flavour without a dipping sauce. (Loved the door-handle flusher in the bathroom, and the bicycle pizza cutter 😁)

Great little stop on our journey home from Inverness, with a fully vegan menu of delicious food and drinks. We shared a large munchie box, which was very tasty, and couldn't resist some vegan pick and mix. Staff could have been a little more conscious of masks and music, as per Covid regulations, but were doing a good job of keeping everything sanitised and socially distanced, despite the difficulties imposed by a small space. Would happily eat here again.

What a lovely cafe! Delicious food, nice varied menu, and very pleasant surroundings. I'd thoroughly recommend a trip here! I must confess I forgot to take photos before we started our meal, but I had the pakora burger, and my mum had the beetroot falafel - both were delicious!

Fresh, aromatic, crispy. It was tasty vegan food served with a smile. I think a certain amount of passion goes into the cooking and the prices were reasonable.

Popped in on Tues 8 Jul 25. I didn't realise it was 5 minutes to closing time. However the ladies took our order and were exceptionally professional and polite. Perfect example of customer service, when it would have been easy to have shown a negative attitude. The coffees were lovely and the cakes fantastic. Highly recommended and will certainly return.

Have been here a few times with partner/friends for coffee and croissants, lunchtime pasties. Service is good, atmosphere relaxed and quiet. One excellent thing that stood out was the inclusive choice of toilets: unisex, disabled plus traditional ladies/gents.

Misleading that they say online things are made fresh in-house yet I asked for a sandwich without the sauce and they said they couldn't because they're pre-packaged. 2 other sandwiches I asked for they didn't have so went with the NYC which was nice, however it had no salami in it. On the menu salami is the first thing it says it has in it. Pointed this out to the waitress who said she'd ask about it but never got back to us. They also forgot half of our tables sandwiches so we had to remind them to bring them out. The cakes were nice, but don't think you can advertise ingredients that aren't even in the sandwich and say its freshly made in-house when it's clearly not either. Overall disappointing, wouldn't recommend.

Really disappointed with this Costa asked if they had any more sandwiches to be told "Sorry they were all out" so selected what was available to make do However, just as we started eating, a staff member restocked all the sandwiches. On speaking with the BM in charge, we were told it was probably because they were busy! We just felt insulted and not a valued customer at very least they could have waited until we had left before restocking after saying that they had no more sandwiches... Thankfully we were on holiday and this is not our local Costa

I took my son as a treat after an unpleasant hospital appointment, he wanted us to have hot chocolates so we chose 2, with caramel syrup, cream and marshmallows. They looked good but the hot chocolate was nothing special at all and the syrup tasted really awful. Neither of us finished them and at almost £10 for 2 hot chocolates you would expect it to be nice but it was really awful and disappointing.

The tirimasu frappe was lovely, however. The short sour faced serving girl barely spoke and didn't make eye contact once. The food was standard costa food but slightly worse this time around, almost stale texture to the toasted sarnie. Additionally when I request oat milk for my frappe, I wasn't consulted about the whipped cream topping, it was just applied. Not a great experience.

Ordered a bagel, babychino (asked for sprinkles) and a cappuccino. Service was really bad, bagel was dropped before heated, babychino had no sprinkles and neither drinks had enough frothy milk as they should have! The Snug (Alves) Limited has long been a destination on many travelers' lists, and for good reason! Nestled just off the A96, this charming café offers a delightful experience that is well worth navigating its tricky car park. Upon entering, guests are greeted by bright views of the adjacent garden, setting a lovely ambiance. The menu may be limited but features enticing specials that change regularly—perfect for those who enjoy variety.
Enjoyed a lovely Afternoon Tea with a friend. Excellent selection of sandwiches, cakes and treats, including a mini cheesecake and meringues. They accommodated my vegetarian friend at short notice, nothing was a problem. Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value too.

Small place just off the A96 has a fairly limited menu. Revisited in Oct 24 Booked in advance for sunday roast which was a sensible sized portion. Food was hot and tasty. Had room left for cake and coffee.
J K — Google review
The Snug has always been on our to-do list but we've always been heading through Alves tooing and froing as we're such busy retirees☺️ but not today. Car park requires some skills accessing and egressing but don't let this deter you as it's worthwhile. We were led into the room, looking out into the adjacent garden, which was lovely and bright. There were specials on the board which can also be seen on Facebook, if you do that. In fact both of ours were off the specials board. My wife had yellow split pea soup and I had the fish and chips. Both reasonably priced. My fish was lovely with a perfect batter and was served with freshly made mushy peas; freshly made tartare sauce and chips. I think the only thing not made there was the packet of mayo to go with my chips. My wife couldn't finish her soup so I just managed to help her ♥️. Keep up the good work.

Tesco Cafe in Elgin is the perfect spot to unwind, whether you're looking to enjoy a steaming cup of coffee or savor a freshly prepared meal. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always eager to assist you. With ample seating and clean tables, it’s an ideal place for a casual catch-up or even some work, thanks to the complimentary Wi-Fi available. The menu offers great value for money, especially during these challenging times.
Frequently eat at Tesco Cafe for breakfast, always find the food cooked well and the quality excellent for the price. Wifi is provided free of charge, which is brilliant if you want to check your social media or work emails. Staff are always friendly and professional and the restaurant clean and tidy. Never any complaints.

Very good standard of food and clean as ever, but they have gone downhill with service by adding automatic ordering and payment machines like in MacDonalds. Probably me, but I prefer to talk to someone when giving my order. The staff here are kind and very helpful.
Anthony L — Google review
Cheap, cheerful and delivers what it promises. Visited last week for breakfast. Food is what you would expect for Tesco’s, mediocre quality and filling. A value for money breakfast that was really enjoyable, no complaints. Fast service and staff were pleasant 👍👍

My wife is currently on a fat free diet and was interested to see that you could get an oat milk latte. We ordered it along with an Americano and a roll and sausage for me, took the order number tab and went to our seats. A few minutes later the waitress came out and said there was no oatmilk and would coconut or soya milk do? My wife ordered soya milk but was surprised that they didn't know they had no oatmilk when she took our order. The coffees arrived followed quickly by the roll and sausage. My wife said the oatmilk latte wasn't very hot and could the waitress provide a hotter one. She replied that was the temperature it came out at. She didn't apologise and then took the oatmilk latte away. My wife offered a suggestion that perhaps if she heated the cup beforehand then that might help make the coffee hotter. Another server, male, brought the new oatmilk latte out but this wasn't much hotter. Other coffee shops can make lattes hotter without scalding the milk and perhaps heating the cup. It seemed obvious to us that the waitress didn't want to give us any feedback and so we are now giving ours.
Ciderman — Google review
I couldn't believe it when I saw the ordering system now. No physical menu to browse, all on the touch screens, trellis thingy up at "till" area like a barrier, no cakes/scones on show either. The atmosphere was terrible and sad really. Tesco cafes are not fast food restaurants, they are welcoming friendly cafes and it's lost that now. I assume this is to save on staff wages and costs? Food and staff remain lovely but the ordering system is just shocking really. It's lost that friendly welcoming atmosphere and this change is alienating a generation that avoid technology and seek out actual human interaction.
Tina K — Google review
So disappointed that they can’t offer gluten free options. When I asked about this - Tesco has plenty gf food in store-i was told “we are not part of Tesco “ which I found strange, but also not really a reason!
Linda C — Google review
The staff at the cafe are extremely rude and the manager should be ashamed! She had absolutely no people skills, sighing and rolling her eyes when I simply asked if I could have drinks with food not before as they often are cold by the time the food arrives! We were told this is not company policy what a load of rubbish!! Surely the customer’s preference is company policy!! The fact that they have automated screens now and don’t have to deal with many people makes their behaviour even more unacceptable!! Should be ashamed of themselves.
Gill E — Google review
Always a very pleasant experience coming to the tesco cafe in Elgin. Staff are pleasant, knowledgeable, and happy to serve, there's always plenty of space to sit and tables are always clean. Came in here looking for something hot and filling. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Got a got chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream and marshmallows hidden underneath and a cheese and ham toasties that was made quickly and was delicious. Perfect place to grab something to eat after a long drive or shop!!
Maya C — Google review
Having been in several Symposiums we like the crispy bacon bagel and the smoked salmon bagel, they always seem the same in everyone, not something you can say about other chains, especialy Caffe Nero. This is the first time we have been in one in a major store and habe to say, yes it was the same as all the others. This is a good thing as you can rely on it. The crispy bacon was very crispy and the partner said the salmon one was equaly as good. The coffee is strong and hot and the flat whites are how they should be so well done for maintaining the standard even in Asda. (Our favourite is still the one in Ellon though, just because😉) Wee update called in again as we were in the area 2 days later but just wanted a coffee and cake. Chose a cheese scone and have to say, it was very cheesy and quite light considering. Some scones can be quite claggy but this wasn't. Had it slightly warmed and again, realy enjoyed it.
Antonios R — Google review
This cozy little coffee shop offers the best coffee and pancakes I've ever had! Honestly, everything on the menu is exceptional—it's truly a five-star experience. In my opinion, Café Nero, Costa, and Starbucks don't even come close to the quality here. If you're in Moray, you need to try it for yourself to see what I mean! The service is outstanding as well. The staff are incredibly friendly and engage with every customer, making the experience even more enjoyable. This is my second visit, and I’ll definitely be coming back more often!
Rose K — Google review
Great little coffee shop (inside Asda), opened during lock down for takeaway. Staff are always very helpful and friendly. Now can sit in, within covid guidelines. Menu /food very good, competitively priced. Can order on-line for collection. Highly recommend.
Little B — Google review
Where to start…. Firstly there are no menus other than the super small print at the till. Secondly there is a lot of weirdly low tables which make it almost impossible to eat a bagel - (only tables left) Thirdly the ‘crispy’ bacon bagel I ordered wasn’t even slightly crispy. Fourthly the table had a wad of paper to stabilise it. We were all not very impressed after our first and only visit to this cafe, I doubt we will be back.
Alo F — Google review
This is my 2nd time here. Heavenly big proper scones. Always friendly staff.very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere
Mo N — Google review
On the menu the pancakes are 4.99, for some reason that they couldn’t explain, they gave me two pancakes but still I paid more than 2 pancakes on menu. It is a real pity when they don’t invest time in training their staff. I also need to say that they don’t have a breakfast menu, only pancakes and a lunch menu.
Laura P — Google review
Went in at lunch time with my Daughter in law, and Daughter and two small children for a sandwich and coffee, unfortunately there is no child’s menu, but no problem the girl serving us offered a Ham sandwich, for the children (aged 2). Adults ordered coffees hot chocolate, bacon and cream cheese sandwich and two chicken mayonnaise sandwiches. All prepared and brought to the table and not to long to wait, fantastic! STOP there the Chicken Mayonaise sandwiches were Hot, yes the chicken was hot and far too much mayonnaise. I went up to the counter to ask about the chicken being hot and was told that customers had complained the chicken was too cold so they had started heating it in the microwave!!! It was disgusting and the girls didn’t eat them Definitely won’t be back I

Cafe
Ashers The Hub, located in the St. Giles Centre, is an outlet of the successful Nairn bakery Ashers. It offers traditional Scottish bakery breakfast options such as sausage rolls and cooked dishes. Customers appreciate the friendly staff and excellent cappuccino. However, some have expressed concerns about pricing for sit-in customers compared to those using the takeaway facility next door. Despite this, many patrons praise the fresh food and welcoming atmosphere provided by the kind and polite staff at Ashers The Hub.
Can you explain to me, having been a customer in your cafe for many years, why I am expected to pay sit in prices from the girls in the cafe, to then witness people buying from your take away facility next door who then sit in the same seating area, who cannot then be challenged by your staff? The girls in the cafe do a great job and are frustrated by the situation, as are we the regular compliant customers. I would suggest some signage, as there used to be, stating that take away food is not to be consumed on the premises. In busier times when seating is at a premium, you will lose custom and the loyalty of other people like me!
Audrey F — Google review
Good morning, Went to the hub in Elgin yesterday to meet my partner, as usual I was late. My partner had bought a cake and some coffee and waited for me as usual. On arriving, I sat down at our table to see if she wanted anything before I ordered. Having been sat there for about 2 minutes I was asked by the world's rudest waitress if I intended to be much longer as she needed the table, despite the fact there were several empty tables around us. Obviously I decided this is not the most welcoming place, I'll go somewhere else. So to make things worse, when we got up to leave, the woman demanded we take our rubbish with us!! This would be the cake wrapper that my partner bought from your establishment. Suffice to say I will never visit this place again.

Enjoyed a coffee and cake here with friends. Amble room to maneuver a twin stroller in seated area. Quick service. Staff are pleasant. Limited baked goods and coffees available. Always feel area is noisy due to being on the lower ground of the shopping centre and not within a separate unit. There are seats within the cafe but these were cornered off today.
