Hotel
Escape At The Gap Hotel offers a pleasant and relaxing experience with its friendly and helpful staff, decent food and drink options, spacious rooms that are cleaned daily, basic pools, and easy access to the lively nightlife at The Gap. While not claiming to be a 5-star establishment, it provides good value for money. Guests can enjoy the nice rooms, friendly staff including the security guard, and satisfactory dining options. Additionally, there is easy access to transportation for exploring the area.
Have been going here for a while now.... The place is pretty decent. Staff veru friendly and helpful..... Food and drink pretty good.... Rooms huge and cleaned daily. It's not a 5 star place but doesn't claim to be - that works in it's favour. Lots of basic pools, a huge beach and easy access to the Gap (pretty good nightlife). It's a relaxing experience and worth the money.

Beautiful beaches, two parts to this hotel, one side with the security and staff on the desk, the other side. . . . . dark and dingy,no staff or reception, very very outdated rooms, very dirty, shower was a joke, went all over the floor! Was "cleaned every day, lovely until i saw the water they were washing the floor with! absolutely filthy. asked to change to the nicer side, and was told i would have to pay,(then later found out that other members of our group were changed without paying a fee!!) although got that back as we left early. staff were lovely,. wouldn't return!

Restaurant
Bliss Cafe, a charming family-owned establishment in Dover near St. Lawrence Gap, has become a beloved destination for both locals and visitors. The cafe is renowned for its delectable paninis, toasties, and fresh waffles that are sure to leave you feeling satisfied. With a focus on exceptional customer service and ample portions, the cafe also offers an array of vegetarian and gluten-free choices.
I had such a great experience at this brunch spot! The menu has a wide variety of breakfast options, and I loved that they offer both half and full portions for most dishes. I ordered the waffles and bacon, and they did not disappoint. The waffles were perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweet with its powdered sugar coat. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The service was great, the waiter whose name I forgot was super attentive and great with the recommendations. Thank you for a great time and experience. Will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to Barbados!
Taha M — Google review
Enjoyed breakfast at Bliss Cafe. Our waiter was very informative for our party since it was our first time visiting the location. Food was good. Prices were a little surprising for just a waffle but other than that I love the spot.
Elgin T — Google review
This place is so good we had to visit twice!! From the drinks to the main dishes, Bliss Cafe will always have a place in my heart! The workers are all nice and courteous. They do bring out the food one by one, which I prefer over waiting for all the dishes to be served yet cold by the time you eat. I highly recommend the shakes, and the jerk chicken flatbread! The waffles are also very soft, compared to other places where they are too hard to enjoy. Definitely add Bliss Cafe to your list!!
Jayda H — Google review
I have very mixed emotions when writing this review. Put simply the food at this restaurant was AMAZING and the atmosphere was adorable! The customer service, on the other hand, was lacking at even the most basic level. While we were in Barbados for vacation, we decided to visit Bliss. Based on other reviews, we totally understood and expected to have a significant wait to obtain a table. As a group of four, we were prepared for this and did not mind the hour wait. Once we were seated, we sat there for 30 minutes (no exaggeration) waiting for someone to take our order. Once our order was taken, we were told that it would be another hour before our food was delivered. We agreed to this and thought we would be able to sip on the coffee and drinks we had ordered. As it turns out, the coffee and drinks were not brought to our table for 50 minutes. This seems like poor business because we would have happily ordered additional coffees or drinks due to the extensive wait, but because they never brought them... we just sat there at an empty table. When an hour had finally passed they brought us water, but still no food. Ultimately, we had to ask that our food be packaged to go because we had to catch our flight back home. Although we had allotted plenty of time to eat at Bliss, it simply was not enough time based on the customer service. While I deeply understand having a laid-back island mentality can make life enjoyable... this went well beyond 'laid back'... it was just poor service. While I can say that we really enjoyed the food we got, it was a huge disappointment to eat it in the car on the way to the airport. If you're brave enough to handle the customer service, the food items I would recommend would be the lemon blueberry waffle and the jerk chicken flatbread. They were both excellent!
J B — Google review
What a lovely place! The food was super fresh and amazing. Definitely recommend the jerk chicken flatbread. Strawberry Lemonade was just slightly too sweet for my taste, but the regular lemonade was great. Very kind and welcoming staff and overall atmosphere. Sad we visited on our last day or we would be here everyday!

Took auntie out for her birthday and it was awesome. The service, food and atmosphere was great.

This is hands down one of the most amazing restaurants I’ve ever been to, and easily the best breakfast place I’ve ever had. We ordered the flatbread, and it was absolutely phenomenal - honestly you’re missing out if you’re not ordering this. Highly recommend!

Bliss is a great cafe located in the St Lawrence Gap area. The decor, music and general atmosphere is chill. Really good vibes. There is a morning menu and an afternoon menu from after 11:30 am. I’m definitely going to go after 11:30, because the lunch menu looked incredible. I really enjoy the turkey sausages. I recommend making reservations to avoid disappointment.

Bistro
Cafe Luna Barbados is an award-winning restaurant located on the rooftop of the Little Arches Hotel in Oistins. It offers panoramic views of the ocean and a romantic setting with palm trees adorned with fairy lights. The menu features a fusion of Caribbean, Asian, and Mediterranean flavors using local ingredients. Whether it's brunch or dinner, guests can enjoy a delightful culinary experience with dishes like the famous Sunday Gospel Brunch Buffet at L'Azure or the sublime flourless chocolate cake.
Cafe Luna is special. The restaurant is upstairs but before we even went up there we noticed a beautiful koi pond at the bottom of the stairs. It even had fish food so my kids had a blast feeding them and watching them swim. We had breakfast and it was delicious. Plus the view was amazing and the service was great! It’s easy to get to and we were able to park right across the street. I can’t wait to come here for dinner.
Lacey M — Google review
This boutique hotel has within it a beautiful and rustic Spanish style restaurant. This of the staff was very efficient and super quick ( 8mins) within ordering. I had a shrimp salad that was very yummy and left me just replete. I also had a cream drizzled carrot cake that was super tasty. This restaurant offers super view of the beach nearby and is comfortably cooled by the offshore breezes.
Pickles S — Google review
We booked dinner here for 17:30 so we could see the sunset. All the food was excellent and so were the drinks. The service was very professional, but still friendly. The location is superb and so are the views. The prices are quite high, but everything was excellent so I guess they're justified. Make sure to book at least a day in advance for dinner, especially if you're going on a weekend.
Vlad S — Google review
Hands down one of the best experiences I have had on the island. Was recently here on a day pass. Has a delicious breakfast and then decides to stay for dinner as well. The service was impeccable. I was overwhelmed with how well the staff treated me. The food was absolutely amazing. Definitely my best breakfast on the island so far. And the dinner overlooking the sea at sunset was my best dinner so far as well. They are really running a great place here

Came here for breakfast and it was phenomenal. Our host was Adam and he was the sweetest! Very attentive and respectful. I’d definitely recommend the bajan breakfast if you pay them a visit.
Jayda H — Google review
After touching down in Barbados, the very first thing on my mind wasn’t the beach—it was food. Jet lag and travel cravings led me straight to Café Luna, a rooftop gem perched with a panoramic view of the ocean. The scene was instantly calming—the waves stretching into the horizon, the sea breeze carrying just enough salt in the air, and the rustic charm of the café making it feel both inviting and authentic. I ordered the Luna Benedict, and it was everything I hoped for: two perfectly poached eggs set on toasted salt bread, with golden hash brown potatoes on the side, all draped in velvety hollandaise. What made it stand out was the island twist—local smoked marlin paired with cream cheese, adding a smoky richness that elevated the whole dish. The eggs were absolute perfection, yolks spilling like liquid gold. To sip, I went for a classic virgin piña colada—creamy, refreshing, and tropical without being overly sweet. It was the perfect complement to both the food and the setting. Between the ocean views, the rustic yet inviting atmosphere, and the unforgettable flavors, Café Luna made my first meal in Barbados pretty amazing. 🌊🍳✨

Surfer's Cafe, also known as The Cafe locally, is a laid-back and rustic restaurant and bar situated at the mouth of Oistins on the South Coast. It offers a delicious breakfast and lunch/dinner menu with live music by local artists on select nights. The cafe features deck seating that provides breathtaking views of the South Coast ocean. The food is hearty, traditional Bajan cuisine with generous portions, including homemade Bajan fish cakes and buljol.
We had breakfast here and it was great. If you're lucky, you can get one of the 2 tables with sea view. There is also some outdoor seating available. The food was great, the drinks were as expected and the prices were good. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
Vlad S — Google review
This was a good experience, the restaurant is very open, and I felt very comfortable throughout the meal. The view can be good depending on what seat you get. The food was good. The burger was huge! I could finish it, but I recommend it. My boy liked his ribs - polished clean off the bone, and my wife enjoyed her catch of the day. The price of ok. Parking is limited.
Ashleigh N — Google review
very nice location! We sat right on the edge with the ocean to our side (con: was kind of toasty, sun was right on us) the food came quickly and I was impressed with the quality and tastiness!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here :)) I got the avocado toast with smoked salmon and every addition was well seasoned and prepared (the lil tomatoes were really good!!) my partner got the steak and eggs (well seasoned and nicely cooked steak!) and we got french toast to share (maybe a little over ambitious with the room in my stomach) but wow, I will be back here again
Yseult H — Google review
This was the best breakfast we had in Barbados (including Cafe Luna)! We were lucky enough to get one of the two tables on the outside patio above the surf on our first visit, but our second visit not on the patio was still well worth it. First off, the coffee is both excellent and hot (lukewarm coffee is a pet peeve of mine). I had the avocado toast which was sumptuous, and my partner had the excellent breakfast flatbread. The portions are ample so come with an appetite!
Douglas W — Google review
One of the best views around! Our table was very one of the two tables on the balcony and they are literally on the ocean, if you could jump you would fall in the water lol Great food (we went for breakfast), good service as well! A must go place if you are in Barbados
Noemi R — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing! The view, plus the great food you can’t go wrong. They serve the best Rum punch in the city!!!
Wayne F — Google review
Lovely breakfast the morning after we landed. Got a table for four quickly enough. Service was relatively fast (by Bajan standards!!). We had the chicken, waffles and syrup - unusual combination for me. It was nicely seasoned, cooked and the portions were satisfactory. The omelette and benny eggs were good. Fishcakes are not what we expect them to be- the person who ordered it was happy with the choice. Smoked fish was unremarkable. Cappuccinos to round off. They obligingly split bill of you ask them
Tarasangeeta U — Google review
We had a friendly welcome and were served a lovely hot coffee and some ice cold water straight away. As we arrived early (our first morning from the UK so not quite on Bajan time) we managed to get one of the little balcony tables which was great at the view is amazing. We received such attentive and friendly service throughout. The breakfast was tasty and filing. The prices were reasonable and it had a lovely atmosphere. What a great place to stop for breakfast!!

Located in Chattel House Village, St. Lawrence, it's renowned for serving the best breakfast and brunch options on the island. The cafe offers a variety of dishes including sweet cinnamon French toast for breakfast and grilled catch of the day for lunch.
The food here was excellent as well as the service. Their French toast and pancakes was delicious, I also had an omelette and we were served very quickly. This restaurant is a must visit if you’re visiting “The Gap”.

This is our fave breakfast and lunch spot when on the island. We have never had a bad breakfast or lunch. Love the edition of the patties, the perfect beach or pool snack. The staff are always so friendly and the owner is such a nice person and so welcoming to everyone, both locals and tourists. Good value for money also.
Lisa C — Google review
How lucky that we had this wonderful place right across the road from our hotel. The food, whether it's breakfast, brunch, or lunch, was delicious, and Nick, the owner, and his wife were just the most lovely people. Considering how expensive the Island is, the prices are very reasonable for top-quality food. I don't usually write reviews but when I do it's because the places are outstanding. Don't miss out.

We had breakfast here and all the food was excellent. The service was very friendly and the prices were fair. Would definitely recommend eating here.

An absolute must place to come and start your Bajan days! The food is really good here, all cooked fresh to order. The owners are fantastic people, incredibly friendly and welcoming. Brilliant value for money! Cannot recommend this cafe enough...we are picky eaters and had our breakfast here daily during our holiday.
Jana M — Google review
this was one of my favorite breakfasts we had on the island during our stay. Nick was very helpful in letting us know the best time to arrive since they don’t take reservations which was very appreciated as we were on a schedule today. We had the pancakes, French toasts, eggs, and sausage. Pineapple smoothie was delightful - really, Everything was perfect and well priced. I’d be back here for breakfast next time I’m on the island.

We came here twice during our vacation and the service and food were excellent. They accommodated us with a little one and carriage. There are little gift shops you can shop at as well. The locals come here and you can see why it's a staple in St. Lawrence Gap.

This is a hidden gem,it was our favourite place. I tried Marlin, swordfish, and the cutters. The food was so delicious, my favourite was the grilled swordfish. Anne provided an excellent service. Highly recommended.

Staying nearby and wandered over. First night we just had drinks. Second night dinner. Definitely worth it. I had the jerk chicken with salad and grilled potatoes. Excellent. Friends had fried marlin also excellent. And the steak was really good also. People kept talking about the salad. It was fabulous. I was wondering why the salad was so popular but I get it. I thought was well priced for the quality and quantity. Both nights super friendly attentive service. Will return to try at least 2-3 more things. Edited to add: I arranged to have them do lobster for me. You have to order in advance. Perfectly cooked and worth every penny.

5 stars 🥰 The staff here are very nice, I love the atmosphere but let’s get into the food. . I’ve visited more than once during my trip, I had the “catch of the day” grilled Marlin fish with sweet potato fries, Caesar salad and coleslaw. The food was delicious 😋 it rained a lot during my visit but it didn’t matter the food made up for it. The lovely lady at the bar was so nice (I believe her name was Anne).
Shanera — Google review
Great food and service at a sensible price. Buy a small bottle of rum and mixers. Favourite foods, Jerk chicken or fish cutters, also the best salad topped with Gorgonzola or cheese of your choice.

We tried this place for the first time this holiday. We’ve now been 4 times. The burgers are amongst the best I have ever had. So cheap too, only 15BDS.

It was an amazing experience for group of four friends! We were there from Canada, US and Bangladesh. We had a great time and the food was amazing! Ann was excellent and prepared the fish as per our taste! We loved the spices on the grill! The salad was fresh and delicious as she described. We went back the next day again to have more! It is a must try local food restaurant if you are in Bridgetown!

Friendly staff. Food made from scratch. Reasonable prices. The place is known for pasta, but I tried jerk chicken. They also have shrimp in creamy mushroom sauce. The owner and the cook are super nice. I wish them all the success. Salad and side dishes super sized. Chicken was cooked to perfection. It's a small place with adjoining establishments, so gave atmosphere 4 stars. Food was delicious, must try if on the south side of Barbados It's located close to Infinity and Timeout hotels. Steak house
Lucky Horseshoe Worthing, affectionately known as "The Shoe," is a 24/7 steak house, bar, and gaming saloon offering food and drinks at all hours. With four locations in City Centre, Warrens, Worthing, and Bagatelle, it provides dining and entertainment for the entire family. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with options like teriyaki steak and a large grilled burger with a smoky flavor.
I was here for a lunch around 1030am. - I was the only person here at this time, but a few tables had reserved signs on them. - nice open air dinning but they have booths and tables. - I came for a burger, but when I ordered it they said they were out of 8oz burgers and only had 13oz burger. I did get it but it was a bit big for me. The fries were good, and burger was good except for the size. - service was good and friendly. - I would come eat here again
Adam C — Google review
Great place for lunch. The burger is grilled and has an excellent smokey flavor. It's also very large - more than most can finish! The three bean salad is great whether you are a vegetarian or not. Fresh ingredients, well mixed, and served in a crispy tortilla bowl. Make sure to ask for dressing. The prices are very affordable, and I would say a bargain for the quality. The tables facing the street are great to watch the world go by, and they also collect a cool breeze. The service is very friendly, perhaps a little slow, but what's the hurry? We enjoyed the mellow time, the smiling faces, and the great food - headed back here again soon!

Used by locals, grandkids enjoyed watching gymnastics and Wrestlemania on the tv screens while eating. Had the shrimp curry which was excellent, not too spicy but tasty. Would definitely eat here again, about a 20-25 min walk from out hotel the Restrevor on the Gap. They have a children’s menu which is unusual in the area

The service was great and affordable. They are open 24 hours and they have slot machines by the bar area. We enjoyed the blackened snapper with baked potato and side salad. The New Yorker steak was made as requested and flavorful. Fish cakes were freshly made and hot.

Claire J’s Ice Cream is a hidden gem in Barbados, offering an excellent selection of desserts and ice cream. The owners, Terry and Claire, are known for their extraordinary treats such as bread pudding with caramel syrup and brownie with ice cream and chocolate syrup. Visitors rave about the wonderful selection, reasonable prices, and delicious flavors. In addition to desserts and ice cream, the place also offers beautiful coffees, cocktails, and frozen mango daiquiris.
What can you say about Claire’s located in Oistins behind legendary fish cakes. After we eat in Oistins we always finish off at Claire J’s as the welcome is so warm and friendly. Teddy serves the best rum punch/Gin and tonic on the island. Plus Claire’s many desserts are delicious and good value. I’m not a big fan of bread pudding until I was encouraged to sample Claire’s, just wow it was to die for plus a wide choice of ice creams to add to the dessert. The atmosphere is so relaxed and that is down to these 2 very special hard working people, can’t wait to return to the island and revisit Claire J’s. Thank you guys for making us feel so welcome.

Delicious ice cream, and quick service. They also had fairly cheap rum punch 10bbd each (fairly strong as well). Great spot to grab a drink on Friday night and watch the live entertainment on the stage near by.

Terry & Claire are extraordinary people who serve excellent treats. The bread pudding with caramel syrup for myself & the brownie with ice cream & chocolate syrup (just to name a few)for my wife completed our meals and sent us over the moon. Hidden gem that should be listed on TripAdvisor top ten for Barbados because desserts did not seem too common throughout the island. Wonderful selection, prices and taste.

Went there on a whim, just out in Oistins having had a lovely meal and wanting something sweet. Loading up Google I looked up desert places near me. Claire J’s was the first result so I thought why not. Walked to it in little to no time and was not disappointed. The brownie was warm which was surprising for a takeaway place and best of all you could choose what ice cream you would like. What a wonderful surprise ! My dad and uncle had a rum punch from there and said it was the best from the whole holiday. Couldn’t recommend this place enough so much choice and open quite late for a desert place.

Fast food restaurant
Chefette Oistins is a popular fast-food restaurant in Barbados, known for serving a variety of local favorites such as fried chicken, roti, pizza, and ice cream. Located near the fish market in Oistins and close to the Bay Gardens, it's a convenient spot for locals and visitors alike. The drive-through and dine-in establishment has been satisfying cravings since December 1985. Families with children can enjoy the playground while savoring their meals.
Chefette is a Barbados original that is worth a stop. The number of choices is quite diverse for a fast food joint, and I love that they have somethings you won’t find at any other chain. Their fried chicken is excellent. This visit, I tried some rotis and I think it’s my new favourite Chefette item. It won’t match some of the independent places on the island but the roti had a nice curry flavour and was quite hefty despite appearing small. One of these on its own will take care of your hunger, and the fully contained nature of the roti make it perfect on the go or at the beach. Their crinkle cut fries are also nice and are perfectly salted. Burgers are not the focus of the chain, so I wouldn’t go in here looking to compare to the many chains in the US or Canada. I have yet to try the pizza. Note that this specific location is one of the smaller ones that does not have a play park. Chefette is a must try if you haven’t been there yet!

“Fast” food in a VERY slow way. Even for Barbados standards. I ordered 9 piece chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce and 20min later while waiting in the drivethrough I received 6pieces with sweetchilli. So everything that could go wrong, went wrong. I wonder how this establishment is still in business.

Nice staff, helpful when we didn’t know what to order. The chicken is succulent and flavourful!

Usually get the all chicken or beef roti, today’s was very disappointing. Seems as though curry ran out because the filling is a pale yellow and the curry Flavour is not there. Had to throw it out

Update......back again this month. crispy chicken still delicious, good roti, tasty pizza and amazing milkshakes. Nice little treat if your missing your fast food restaurant from home. This is pure comfort food. They serve beef and chicken burgers, crispy chicken, pizzas, roti's and ice cream. The beef burgers don't seem to be as nice as last year when I was there but still okay. The chicken pieces however are delicious! Proper crispy fried chicken like mama use to make. More popular with locals then tourist but definitely worth a visit. You can pre order pizza and theres a drive through here. Staff friendly.

It was fast & delicious! We are from NYC. So we don't have any Bajan standard to compare to. 😅 It was fast servi e and delicious. Hubby Enjoyed his Rotti filled with Chicken & Potato. I enjoyed burger with Pork. Pretty big patty with juicy meat. Is it the BEST burger in the world? probably not. So is McDonald. For fast food, it was great experience. I heard so much about it before I landed to Barbados so I had to try it. 😄 It was good~ And oh boy- compare to other restaurants!! IT IS SO CHEAP! to save money, definitely- 👍 💯

Each time I visit Barbados the first food stop is Chefette for their Roti. Walking through Oistens anticipating the moment I get to enjoy Chicken and Potato along with the Beef and Potato Roti. One meal is enough for lunch and dinner. Upon entered Chefette there is a temperature check and sanitation station. Actually these stations are setup around the island in the airport, every store and business establishment. The dining experience is always a pleasant one. The employees are friendly and the Roti is always delicious! This is one of the many experiences I look forward to when visiting one of my favorite islands. Chefette has a drive thru & they deliver. Dining in is an option but limited seating is available. With the beach right across the street that become a viable option too🤩.

Chrfette is a Barbados FF institution. You can get almost anything you're hungry 😋 for here. ie burgers, pizza, chicken, rotis etc.. & dessert! This is our favorite place to have dessert in Oistins after dinner. The ice cream really hits the spot. Our favorite is 🥥 coconut, but all of them are delicious 😋 and really hit the spot.

The friendly staff ensures that your orders are made right and served with care.
A really nice place to come down for a drink such as iced lattes, coffees, milk shakes . This place is inside the Coverley square. I only just discovered it and will definitely becoming back again
Stargazer J — Google review
The young lady who served us at the Coverley outlet was not pleasant at all and made me and my clients seem like a bother. But the coffee was ok.
Wards T — Google review
The staff are always moody or it’s just my perception. The coffee can be a hit and miss, today it was just bad. This could be a good place to buy coffee with some little improvements. I came back June 7th at around 9:00 a.m. the lady was very friendly and made my order right. One more star just for that. 😌

Wife's favorite spot for coffee and I love their blueberry muffins and the spinach quiche.

I loved the Coverley location. The surroundings can accommodate all the moods or needs of your visit. A gas station nearby to refill the car too. Go by sit, relax with a spouse and sip your delicious frescante. But if work is on your mind the cozy, spacious Gazebo it for you. Your workmates are going to rush over if you don't hide that cup on your zoom meeting. Enjoy😋🥰

Pricey, coffee is OK, but will not knock your socks off. Flat white served a touch too hot for my tastes, but you can add more milk if necessary. No cream though 😬
Bart D — Google review
The staff are very rude, when we ordered the server gave a very loud sigh of indignation, as if asking for something was inconveniencing her. The croissant we ordered was burned, and the smoothies did not taste good. Overall a waste of money. Don’t waste your time.

Delicious ice cream, value for money, friendly staff
Shocker T — Google review
Ice cream was enjoyable, hence 2 stars. However, Google and the sign on the door says closes at 9pm but the server lady started turning customers away at 8:28 and the lights were off and doors locked at 8:50. At least 9 customers disappointed. The lady's attitude was disgusting. Customers were a nuisance, she wanted to leave. Poor selection of flavours available. All of the other flavours were present but they had been packed away/covered down for the night already.
Zena — Google review
Super friendly staff, loads of unique flavors, and a topping bar. The Cookie Monster scoop is a must—blue, bold, and ridiculously good. Perfect spot to cool off and treat yourself.
Yoyo J — Google review
My family is treated well every time we go. I appreciate the patient staff, especially, when the kids are trying to choose between chocolate icecream and the 'other' chocolate icecream they can't have but don't understand why. The experience at Chillz is why I'm a frequent customer there...and also at the gym!
Paul G — Google review
The service needs to be better. They mostly only ever have one flavor sorbet out of the 3 they advertise and when you call to double check what’s in stock no one ever answers the phone. So now you drive all the way there and there’s none in stock!!
