Great atmosphere, awesome food, but unfortunately service was subpar to great food and atmosphere. Unfortunately one server out of the team stood out for their uneducated approach and unprofessional handling. We were referred to to this place, but can’t commit to returning.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been. Amazing food (especially recommend the Arroz de polvo!!!), great service and beautiful surroundings. If there was a possibility of giving more than 5 stars, I definitely would! Hoping to come back soon.

Being a Brazilian who has grown up coming to Praia do Rosa, I was excited to come this place. However I was disappointed initially because of the food and then the bill. Nice atmosphere and service, but very pricy and it’s not real Thai food. Perhaps the place should be called “Thai inspired food”, since it’s not real Thai.

Used to be a lot better. Unfortunately nowadays the food is average to bad for the price. We ordered a coconut shrimp starter and it came burned (very dark appearance and burnt old oil smell). My wife and I hate to waste food, but we had to return it. It was even unhealthy to eat food that way (my wife is a Nutritionist and knows the matter very well). The main courses were only so-so. The appearance is ok, portions were ok but it tastes like reheated food, and we had some bad aftertaste for hours after eating. Over the last 2-3 years maybe they changed the cooks, because this place used to have great and fancy food. Only the fancy prices continue. My wife and I wanted to like this restaurant. The ambiance is still perfect, service is very good. But you just cannot expect to return when the restaurant falls in quality as much as this restaurant has fallen. We won’t be coming back, unfortunately.

We are a Brazilian-American couple and half of our guests were American, half were Brazilian. The owner Rodrigo and his staff welcomed us graciously and attended to our every need that arose throughout the week, including helping to translate for our guests from the US. The food is at Engenho do Mar is all delicious, and the services is excellent. Many of our guests ate at the restaurant repeatedly throughout the week and were never disappointed. We served a steak salad, shrimp risotto, and steak at our wedding (and late night snacks!) and several guests told us it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding (We agree!). The restaurant also very graciously accommodated many dietary restrictions and allergies, including offering vegetarian options. They also kindly printed menus in English for our international guests! The staff entire is unmatched in their professionalism, friendliness, and proactiveness. We had the wedding of our dreams.
