Restaurant
Le Roof is a renowned overwater restaurant located in Anse Vata Bay, offering stunning views of the turquoise lagoon and occasional glimpses of marine life. The restaurant is known for its upscale ambiance, featuring an open-air terrace and modern decor, making it perfect for sunset dining and intimate gatherings. It serves a French-Pacific fusion menu that highlights local seafood and tropical ingredients. Additionally, Le Roof provides a vibrant nightlife experience with live bands and energetic DJs spinning both local and international hits.
Nice restaurant good service and you get to enjoy watching fishes and if you are lucky you can see the dolphins like we did! We enjoyed the dessert. Prawn spring rolls were nice. Disappointed with ravioli. Duck was ok. Very expensive place to dine but you are paying for the ambience!
Ann K — Google review
One of the best nights we have had so far in Noumea. Watching the huge fish, turtles and a shark or two swim below while eating some of the best food . The prices are on the higher side but the quality and presentation of the food was so worth the price. Have eaten other places here for not much cheaper that didn’t even come close to the quality of the ale Roof menu. If you come to Noumea you must visit this restaurant at least once!
Kali L — Google review
We wanted something special for New year's Eve so we booked in advance and pay half of the special menu. Everything was delicious and well matching in flavours. I was surprised cause one of the courses had lamb and I don't like it, but was so well prepared that I even like it. The views were very nice, we were outside and the breeze was nice, and we get to see all the different fish dancing around and some dolphins there. Also big big fish that we actually debated about, is too big to be a fish to small to be a shark or to slow to be a dolphin, so, very entertaining for us 😜. Seagulls and small white fish dancing around, even rare jumping ones. Was definitely a very nice night. Service was excellent and dedicated. If we only have more days to stay.. definitely recommend fine dining experience.

This company exceeded all my expectations in terms of service and professionalism. The staff is highly trained, courteous, and always willing to assist with any request or concern. Management is clearly focused on maintaining high standards, ensuring that every client experience is seamless and positive. Communication was clear, timely, and consistent at every stage, which made me feel secure and confident. The attention to detail and dedication to quality are remarkable, showing that the company genuinely cares about its clients. I left feeling completely satisfied and assured that I had chosen the right company. I would gladly recommend their services to everyone seeking dependable and outstanding results.

Really enjoyed Le Roof, we went for lunch, really good menus to choose from and good prices too. Enjoyed the relaxed pace and friendly service. Food we had was fantastic, packed full of flavour, very comfortably full at the end of the meal. Great views too over the water to the islands.
Jonathan B — Google review
The reviews always say it's expensive, but what they don't say is that the prices are actually reasonable given the quality and the ingredients of their dishes. The prices are no more expensive that what you would find in fine dining restaurants in New Zealand and Australia. But be mindful of your bill though because something gets lost in translation so look at it carefully (they ask you though to check it anyway). We didn't and we had to call, but they were apologetic and gracious and dropped off the difference at our hotel (we stayed at the Le Meridien) as promised. The location is more than a novelty- it's central to the experience of dining in a restaurant where seafood is the star attraction. The service is impeccable and their glassware is PRISTINE. Sorry, these are the small things we check. Will definitely come back again and prepared to pay a small fortune BECAUSE IT'S WORTH IT.
Zac C — Google review
By far the most expensive meal we had in Noumea, and we ate at some of the best restaurants in town. It was worth it for the amazing view. What a location. We even saw a dolphin!! Staff could speak English too which was helpful. My dining companion said the seafood was delicious. I am vegetarian and there was just some roast veggies for me.
Nicholas R — Google review
Dined on a Tuesday night, was absolutely lovely, great atmosphere, fantastic service and food was fabulous. Was quite expensive but compared to the rest of Noumea and Anse-Vata it was value for money - we got the set menu (various options) which helped too. Stunning fish display even in the dark, they certainly put on a show. Would highly recommend for a high quality dinner out. Booked at lunchtime for the 7pm reservation and got a perfect table outside overlooking the water, almost every table has a water view.

The Tjibaou Cultural Centre, designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, is a remarkable tribute to Kanak culture and heritage. The center's striking design features ten towering structures made of steel and timber, reminiscent of traditional Kanak huts. Located in a picturesque bayside forest setting, the center offers insights into Kanak culture through its museum, concert hall, and various exhibitions.
Important and interesting cultural landmark of New Caledonia. Explains rich history and culture of local Kanak peoples in beautiful Renzo Piano-designed architecture. Worth visiting to understand this archipelago more profoundly.
Dan T — Google review
Visit here totally surpassed my expectations! I had thought there might be a small visitor centre with a few exhibits and we called in on route to the Blue Lakes. However, it was well worth the one hour visit. Extremely culturally sensitive exhibits, impressive architecture, and beautiful surrounding walks. Highly recommend.
Valerie C — Google review
It was an interesting place to learn about the original inhabitants of Noumea, the Kanaks. We were immersed in their culture and way of life. Their respect and love to nature and how it reflects in their daily lives. It was a pleasurable walk and visiting the traditional houses was great. We saw how they are great architects and the functionality of the houses and its role in the community. It’s definitely worth a visit!
David L — Google review
I wish I could have a guide to get more context around the place. The centre was fascinating however videos were super interesting but far too long to take the appropriate time to look at them. A fabulous history with an enjoyable touch of art
Sonia B — Google review
If you have a couple of hours spare in Noumea, it's worth visiting the cultural centre, only 15min drive, cost 2000CXP. Don't miss the last guided tour at 2pm or walk on your own though most information in French, they have free wifi so you can always translate. Great sunset view as well.
Sally C — Google review
Saw the location on the map and decided to make the drive up there as no bus service is available. We were told it takes about 2 hours to view everything and that the ticket would allow us to come back and forth all day if we wished. Some installations were open to view, with limited English explanations, most in French (they do have signs up recommending using Google translate) so wifi and internet is needed. But lots of empty or locked areas that seemed a waste considering the size of the place. Maybe we were there at the wrong time of year, but it was a bit disappointing. No cafe for food and drinks, only vending machines with coke and coffee.
Caddie T — Google review
Tjibaou Cultural Centre is good to learn about Kanak heritage and modern island art.
Rachel — Google review
Disappointing: insufficient displays offer English translations, considering that this is a premier destination for overseas tourists. The sign offering free internet and translations appeared in one place only, and we only saw it after we had attended every exhibition. The cafe and gift shop were closed (it was Saturday). Also, there wasn’t actually that much info about Kanak traditional life eg food acquisition, production and trade; social and family structures and life; village and inter-tribal politics and customs; history of migration; music, not even in French. Good exhibition of carved wooden poles, and a lovely walk through the gardens with adequate information about spiritual beliefs and practices. Perhaps this place isn’t really intended for foreign visitors after all, but a centre for local traditional owners to gather and practice traditional arts and crafts in workshops and residency projects.

MV Lounge is a trendy beach club located at the northern end of Baie des Citrons in Noumea. It offers a relaxing atmosphere with leafy surroundings and sandy beaches, making it a popular spot among the cool crowd. The lounge is known for its excellent Australian-style espresso coffee and breakfast favorites served at Lemon Bay Cafe, which is run by a New Caledonian and Australian couple.
We only had drinks this time so I can’t speak on the food but we will go back when it’s not raining. Can’t really complain about a place where you can sit in a beautiful beach and watch the sunset with great drinks and friendly staff
Kali L — Google review
BEACHSIDE BAR - Such an amazing location and the restaurant is laid out to have great seats for everyone. Seats above and literally on the beach sand. Good drinks (could be stringer for the price ... omg!) and snacks, like the shrimp rolls. Maybe it is just me, but everything is sooooo expensive. Two Mai Tais and shrimp rolls for $63 USD.
Astrofish — Google review
This bar is fillled with locals and every afternoon it's busy as! because the sunsets are stunning! Not only that the tap beer is a reasonable price for this type of lounge/bar. The music is a cruisey Ibiza style and the bar staff are on the whole friendly...but when they are busy they can appear abrupt. We love it. If you want the sofa areas you need to book them some are right at the ocean edge so you can drink cocktails while dipping your toes 😍
Tracey C — Google review
Perfect spot for the sunset! We came here at 5pm and sat here for 1.5 hours and watched the sunset. It was really special and especially to have the beach to ourselves as it was low season. I was told that have good nights here but unfortunately we didn’t get to see it. I would recommend coming for the sunset for sure.
Luke K — Google review
Great selection of pricey, but delicious cocktails. Sweet location to watch the sunset. However, very poor service.

Parks
Place des Cocotiers, located in the heart of Noumea, is a charming city-square park that has been a central gathering place since the late 19th century. The square features a central pavilion, wide walking paths, and lush greenery including palms and spreading trees. Visitors can relax beneath the flamboyant trees or enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the square. Notable attractions include a band rotunda, a petanque pitch, and a giant chessboard.
Place des Cocotiers is like the heart of Noumea. It's this huge square surrounded by tall coconut trees, and it's always buzzing with activity. The ocean view is just stunning, perfect for watching the sunset. There are tons of restaurants and cafes around, so you can grab a bite to eat or a coffee and just chill. And there's always something going on, like festivals or markets. I could spend hours just people-watching and soaking up the atmosphere. Coming from Thailand, which is so far away, I really wish my hometown had a beautiful square like this.

Thursday markets!!! I didn’t see a mention of Thursday markets anywhere in any of the tourism literature for Noumea, and we stumbled on them by accident. So interesting, it’s clearly where the locals do their buying and selling of fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, pot plants, flowers, clothes, cut flowers and plants, jam, pickles, and loads of locally produced takeaway food for breakfast or lunch. There were a few cruise ship tourists but not many. We had a great time.
Sue M — Google review
We had an amazing day in Numea. City Park was the first place when we got off the shuttle bus. The location was great. The views were amazing. There was a lot of friendly people to greet us and let us know what was available to do. Bus tours and train bus tours etc. The park was child and wheelchair friendly. Overall a great place

Enjoyable for a shaded stroll on a hot day. Clean area. Some cafes along the far end. Locals go there for picnic lunches and shade.
Christina C — Google review
Interesting place with local vibes ! On a weekend there is a musical kiosk that plays a local music! The band is very vibrant! You can hear local song! It was a great experience. There is also a flea and street markets . People sell all kind of stuff. You can potentially find a little souvenir that you want to bring home. Everything is very cheap there. There are also few food tracks. Something good to experience when you are there!
Deanna — Google review
Very nice park in the center of town. There are many tropical trees, shrubs and flowers. There big tree shades that the locals and tourists can relax during hot noon.

July 2023 - Lovely big open space in the middle of town. We had a short pit stop and wander before carrying on with our journey. Not much happening whilst we were there, but I imagine it gets really busy.

This is the heart and center of the city. Very nice place to relax. It is hot in the morning but there are some shaded areas where you can hide. It is best to visit at night where you can see a lot of Christmas lights and feel the holiday season. There are also nearby stores where you can buy some stuff you need at night.

Les 3 Brasseurs is a must-visit restaurant in Noumea, offering a unique experience with its craft beer and culinary delights. Located in the Baie des Citrons neighborhood, it provides stunning views of the beach and features live concerts on certain evenings. This lively bar and brewery is known for serving flammekueche, an ultra-thin pizza from Alsace, making it a quintessential dining spot in the area.
It is an excellent place to stop and have excellent cold beer and good food from the roof top patio. Very friendly service and a perfect location close to the hop on hop off bus stop. we would definitely recommend.

The mussels were mostly small & broken, not much sauce, served just warm, not hot. They could’ve been better. Good double Agnu burger but pricey. Good service, friendly hosts & waitress. Nice view at sunset.
Mo H — Google review
Chanced upon this bar after our hop-on-hop-off bus ride from the cruise terminal, to the 2nd stop of Lemon Bay. I like that they're a micro brewery themselves, which also means they have their own beers and that's always exciting. Prices are very reasonable, although it's also not cheap. Paid about 200 AUD for the 4 of us for Lunch. Some beers, some bar food, nothing that required too much skills. Tried like their Le Brune dark beer, their L'Ambre semi-dark beer, and their seasonal Lemon Ginger beer. All very refreshing, and enjoyable, especially on a hot day. Bartender apparently used to work in Singapore, which was a nice touch.
Flo Y — Google review
WHERE’S the BEEF? — Noumea seems to have a common thread among its burger serving restaurants — laughably small burger patties on a huge bun (look at the picture!). This one was edible cuz the flavor and texture were ok, but why would this much meat cost $22?! The beer is good and they actually serve it as an option in large steins but each one was $20! So for me to have a “burger” fries and two big beers was $62. I’ll be going to the grocery store from now on.
Astrofish — Google review
This place is awesome made us feel very welcome as tourists. They take Australian dollars as well as local francs. Also there is a shuttle from the passenger terminal to lemon bay where this bar is located. The shuttle cost us $10 which is well worth is and the beers and food here are great. Will I come back here ?...... of course I will
Igor S — Google review
Friendly staff and the prices were ok. The food was better than expected and the had a really nice locally brewed beer. The night we went they had love music which made it a treat.
Steve M — Google review
Huge place and beers are about 1200 Franc a pint which is about right for good craft beer. The only issue I get is the place was so huge it felt empty as there was hardly anyone in there. They brew the beers onsite and you can watch it being made. I tried the IPA and really liked it.

Port Moselle Harbour, located in the Quartier Latin of Noumea, is home to a vibrant marketplace known as Port Moselle Market. The market features covered stalls offering an abundance of fresh produce and seafood, including over 100 varieties of yams and a dedicated section for seafood. The market's distinctive blue-tiled pavilions house a wide range of goods, from local handicrafts to fresh foods, creating a colorful and aromatic atmosphere.
Huge marina of Noumea and most beautiful in my opinion. You can take a promenade along the water admiring views ! There are few place to stop and have a snack or a drink along the promenade. This is also a place where you can take a boat to other islands and get on a chu-chu train. Marina is surprisingly clean and water is so clean so you can see all sorts of fish and sea sneaks. Check out my videos. Its like a free aquarium for you !

Théâtre de l'île is a charming and historic venue that offers a variety of entertainment options, from nightclubs and rooftop bars to Tahitian-themed parties and electronic music events. In the capital city of Noumea, visitors can experience lively and convivial nightlife scenes. In more rural areas, integrating into local festivities such as bingos in communities and tribes provides an authentic cultural experience. The building itself exudes beauty with its old architecture, creating a prestigious atmosphere for spectators.

La Barca is a popular bar on the Noumea coastline that offers a great view of the ocean and local musicians playing on weekends. It's also overpriced but has some of the best smoothie bowls in town.
Great bar to relax and take in a great atmosphere. Love the cocktails and quirky decor. A must, especially when there's I've music.

As a Cruise Ship passenger visiting Noumea for the first time, this has to be the worst cocktail (Pina Colada) that I have had the displeasure not to finish. It was curdled, sour and tasted off with hardly any alchohol for 1300 Pacific Francs . My partners also tasted horrible. Come in spinner, as they say. I did mention this to the staff, but they seemed indifferent and couldn't care less. 🤢

So-so. Looks fantastic and nice atmosphere. Beer (Havannah IPA) was average and service was slow and lax. Great view to the beach.

Stopped in here for just some drinks whilst walking around the coastline of Noumea. It definitely stands out in comparison to other places around it and has an incredible view + nice vibe. Prices are reasonable and staff were nice - not overly friendly though (and most certainly not rude). Would go to this place again if in the area. Lovely for relaxing in the afternoon whilst taking in the view.

Cool funky vibes. Was very quiet because we went on a Monday but the atmosphere was chill and the decor is fun . I had the goats cheese toastas which was delicious . A little pricey but worth it for the view and the comfortable seating

Best place, such fun decor and such a variety of different foods and drinks! They have darts, pool and live music. Had a blast and the food was great for a more affordable price than the restaurants on ansa vata beach. Definitely check this place out. Also loved that it is open early as most places open at 7pm for food.

Looks very relaxing and inviting but person behind bar was rude and lacked any customer service nous (possibly because her shift was ending and I couldn't talk French). Pint cost A$15 and a Schooner was A$10 so not cheap ... and ... only filled 80% as froth disappeared! Manager was much more friendly but not enough to get to 3 stars! A shame as it has the potential to do really well.

Nestled in the heart of Port Moselle, Le Bout du Monde is a charming bar and restaurant that serves as an ideal retreat after a long day. With its inviting atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to unwind while watching the sun dip below the horizon behind moored boats. Whether you're enjoying cocktails with friends or colleagues, this venue offers a delightful open-air experience with stunning marina views.
Good Cafe & Restaurant in Port Moselle Noumea. It’s a big restaurant with a wide range of food& drinks menu. The breakfast is good - both the croissants & pain au chocolates together with the coffee really make my day. Do go for the set meal - cheaper than a La carte. Staff is friendly & food is served fast.

Relaxed, friendly pub vibes. We arrived pretty late on a Tuesday, the place was bustling and the staff were friendly if a bit busy. The oysters were fresh, large and tasty, the home made iced tea was yummy. Decent prices. This will probably be a frequent stop for us as it is right next to the boat shuttle for the Ilot Maître.

Very lousy service. Waited 10-15 minutes & no service. Had to get my own water. We had a menu for drinks and tapas. Asked the waitress if that is the menu, she said yes. After trying to figure out menu. She said there is another menu. We asked some question and she replied"this isn't her area and she doesn't know what they are doing today. I got up and left.

POOR SERVICE - In general, the waiters were clueless. The pizza overly was off and only after drinks were ordered and served and we had all decided on what to eat were we made aware that pizza was not an option. Shrimp and pasta dish I had was nearly flavorless although the shrimp were large and in good quantity. Getting follow up drinks was difficult and when the food when served, they had NO IDEA who had ordered what. Even w the drinks they would return and had no idea. Toward the end there a homeless guy that wandered into the seating area and kept asking everyone if he could drink their beers. Waitress did nothing. It was weird and uncomfortable. Finally, people smoked and while it was outside it was just freakin rude to smoke when others are eating. Plug in to the current global perspective on cigarette smoke! Won’t go back after spending nearly $70 USD on myself.

Location is good, staff super friendly and good vibe, but clearly way under staffed. I had to wait 25 mins for a menu, and the drinks came in dirty glasses. Only came here due to it being Sunday and everything else was closed.

Zero service. Impossible to order food and drinks without going to the bar. No one ever comes by to take your order. Ordered frites from a server and never received them. It’s always like this. The cocktails are not good but The mussels are good. Everyone smokes.
Brent — Google review
This is a very nice place to sit outside and have a drink in the evening, but they could use more waitstaff. Many people we know don't bother to wait and order their drinks directly from the bar, always a good option. Update: We just had lunch again there, and the fish tartare trio plate was outstanding. Thus, I'm adding another star.

Nestled along the bustling Baie des Citrons, Bodega del Mar is a delightful bar and restaurant that captures the essence of Mediterranean dining in Noumea. Had a couple of cocktails here before dinner and the atmosphere is great, the margaritas were so good and also pretty strong . Didn’t eat any food here so can’t speak to that but definitely recommend as a chill place to watch the sunset and have a drink!
Kali L — Google review
We went to grab some “tapas” as a small dinner - however the food choice was quite limited and didn’t seem Tom match up with the online menu. We tried the four cheese pizza, the tuna pate and calamari. Can’t say any of them were to write home about. Matched with a beer and a cocktail, it made for a rather mundane experience. I think this place is better served for those who would like to have several beverages and not worry too much about any food. Whilst the location was quite nice and handy to our hotel, the service was disinterested at best and rude at worst. Overall, I would suggest maybe somewhere to drop by for a drink, but then there are plenty of other options for that nearby.
JED — Google review
Absolutely incredible place! Loved the vibe and atmosphere of this place. Staff were extremely lovely and friendly. The view from this place is second to none. I would definitely rate this place as one of the top 5 places to dine in Noumea. Went to this place twice during my visit and both times were welcomed by the staff with a friendly smile. If you only have a short time in Noumea I would definitely recommend this place - the drinks are awesome, the view is incredible and the staff are friendly.
Karine D — Google review
Came here because the tapas menu on the website looked good. That’s not what the menu was. Food was less than average and my husband was violently ill all night after eating the crispy chicken and ham and cheese croquettes. Waiter seemed to be hating life. Pretty boring place to be honest. Has potential as it’s a nice location.
Alison L — Google review
There seems to be something going on here all the time. On the night we’ve visited, the evening started off with live guitar trios, and by the time we left a full dance floor was set up for jazz couple dancing. As another reviewer put it - this looks like the place to be in Noumea. The place is built over wooden platform over the waters and that means nearly every table is right by the water, looking towards beautiful Anse Vata Bay to the west. We’ve timed our visit to sunset and was able to catch beautiful view of sun going down the horizon, accompanied by excellent Number 1 beer. We had couple of tapas dish and serving size was quite generous and both were tasty. Sausages in tomato sauce were recommendable - it has quite a heat in them and goes well with beer. Despite the looks of a pub, they are fully table serviced, and even when the place got very busy the service was still attentive and fast.

Le Bilboquet Plage is a lively and vibrant spot situated in Noumea, offering a unique tropical atmosphere right on the beach. It features an external deck area that provides the perfect setting to relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. This bar is popular among both locals and travelers due to its relaxed yet lively ambiance. Additionally, it is located near the Stone Grill, making it one of the oldest restaurants in Anse Vata.
I see a number of one-star reviews of this restaurant - are we talking about the same place? This was the best dining experience we had in Nouméa by far and we went to a number of places. Service was excellent: attentive and intelligent - the staff knew their table etiquette. The food was superb. Unlike many French restaurants, which offer big plates and small food, this place has generous portions and a first-class chef. We both had fish and it was crazy good - the best I have had in years. I also cannot fault the venue - a former colonial style residence with excellent views. Of the two courses we had, only one dish was less than perfect - this was the tiramisu dessert, which was acceptable without being awesome. Overall, a fine dining experience and we would happily go there again.
Tim M — Google review
Food is terrible. Asked for anything without meat they said no only the garden vegetables. I’m assuming at least cooked vegetables. Nope just shredded cabbage and some string beans and shredded carrots. Husband got a French sausage that smelled awful and he couldn’t eat it, and this man usually eats anything! Daughter got carbonara that was bland and watery . The price is way too high for the food quality.

The veal was very thin and overcooked. The mahi mahi was very dry and not fresh. You can get much better food for the same or lesser price in the surrounding restaurants. Le Fun Beach in New Caledonia is a popular and lively hotspot, especially for those seeking an energetic night out. Additionally, the restaurant at Le Fun offers a new concept called 'Steakstones' with panoramic views of the sea, making it an ideal spot for lunch on sunny days.
Highly recommended. Had dinner there twice. First time was with my 12y daughter and we had the goats cheese salad and steak tartare followed by Crepe Gerard and Lemon Meringue tart. The food was delicious and the staff very attentive and friendly. The second time I brought the boys (both 17) and we had the meat on hot stone plates. We tried the lamb, beef skewer and half duck. The meat was superb and we enjoyed the unlimited sides and sauces. We still had room for dessert and it was Crepe Gerard again (delectable) and creme brulee (nice portion, beautiful). Thanks to the team at Le Fun for 2 excellent evenings.

The upstairs restaurant food is to die for! Absolutely beautifully cooked & presented. This is certainly a restaurant that should get 5 stars if I could review it on its own. The bar food options are tasty & fresh. The drinks are exceptional. It’s a hidden gem in the world when it comes to food & service. The staff are super friendly & dedicated. The downstairs cafe also boasts quality & fresh foods cooked to perfection. The entire casino staff should be proud of their efforts. The casino itself is smaller than most but it’s expected when it’s a little hidden gem on a beautiful island. I’ve been here 3 times and a total of 30+ days. It’s got quite a homely, welcoming feel. 4 star review is only due to the size. It’s just so people know it’s not a large casino. If it were it would be close to the best in the world!

The first striking thing about Grand Casino was its size. If it qualifies as a casino, it might just be the smallest one out there. Any Australian RSL will beat this place in size. We’ve only visited gaming room because Le Meridian has given us 2 tickets that gives you a free soft drink and 500 franc chip if you visit gaming room. When we were there only a few tables were playing - 2 roulette, 1 blackjack and 1 poker. Dealers were easily outnumbering the guests. We’ve realised quickly that 2x 500 franc chips we got were only enough for 1 minimum bet on blackjack. That got us going for perhaps 5 minutes and then we left. For what it’s worth, everyone we’ve interacted with in the casino were very friendly and professional. I think they just need more guests and ambience.

Hiking area
Ouen Toro Hill, located in Anse Vata, offers a variety of trendy bars such as Bodega Del Mar and Poplight for cocktails, live music, and DJs. For a more relaxed atmosphere, Muzz Bar in downtown Noumea is perfect for drinks and tapas with occasional live jazz. Additionally, Le Bout du Monde provides stunning rooftop views of Port Moselle Marina for sunset drinks. The hill itself features a sealed road leading to the summit where two WWII guns still stand.
Really enjoyable walk with fantastic ocean and city views in all directions. We walked here from our accomodation at Hilton La Promenade and it was a bit over an hour round trip on a hot day including time for photo stops. We followed the main path along the edge of the road but there are also other trails. We visited on a Thursday afternoon around 2pm and it was pretty quiet. The views are magnificent and on a sunny day it has to be one of the best short walks in the Pacific. Pack water, hat, sunscreen, camera and decent shoes. And avoid the toilet at the top at all costs, it is truly atrocious.

Vigorous hill walk with lagoon views to take your breath away. A variety of good trails, generally fairly steep. Fantastic way to start the day!
Dan T — Google review
Nice and easy city hike very popular amongst locals and tourists. It takes about 15-20 mins from the hill foot to the top. Last 100 meters may be bit more steep and challenging for kids and elderly. Two different, well marked paths of different difficulty level. Dogs only allowed on lead and as everywhere in city you need to clean after them. There are several entrance paths to hike from various sides of hill but all lead to the top!

Chai de l'Hippodrome is a charming wine bar known for its perfect food and wine pairings. The welcoming wait staff and knowledgeable sommeliers create a delightful dining experience. The menu offers high-quality tapas, generous portions, and an impressive wine list. Guests can enjoy tasting boards of quality cheeses, dips, and meats in a separate function area for private events.
Beautiful wine bar with very impressive food and interesting decor. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. The waiter gave us an excellent wine recommendation as the menu is vast and detailed with a lot of good wines and the history of them, so we let him choose his favourite. We had the ceviche and venison and both were delicious and went very well with the bread and wine.

Deserves all the accolades. The staff are very pleasant and very quick to organise everything from drinks to food. Food is delicious and the wines are so varied it's difficult to choose but they have the knowledge to help. Going back again for our 3rd night tonight. We've hit in the real thing here 😋

Lovely atmosphere. They seemed to be quite booked, but the staff were kind enough to split a table for us so that we could dine there (under dripping water but they weren’t to know). Service was very quick. We had the salmon and tuna dishes, they were excellent. A good size serving of bread came out at the same time as the mains (shame it wasn’t warm and served with butter). Very reasonably priced for how nice this establishment was. Would come back here 😊

Wow, wow, wow. After the initial dining experience I decided to host a function here for 50 people. Romain was amazing ti work with during the event planning. We were provided with a seperate function area with ample room for our guest to socialise in private. On the night the food was simply amazing. Even catering for a couple of vegetarian attendees. Started out with some tasting boards of great quality cheeses, dips and meats. Then some tapas styles toast, finishing on screwers of beef, lamb band prawns. The staff were very attentive and kept the drinks flowing to a very happy crowd. We will certainly be back next visit to New Caledonia.

Château Hagen is a preserved colonial mansion museum with a focus on arts and culture. Originally built by a renowned trader, it now serves as an artistic and cultural space hosting various events such as exhibitions, film screenings, dance shows, theatre performances, and concerts. The site has been skillfully repurposed to promote cultural exchange and expression. Despite some temporary closures due to street construction, visitors have praised the beautiful architecture of the building along with its well-maintained gardens.
Absolutely magnificent building. Historical piece of architecture with beautiful sculptures and shapes.

It’s a credit to the community that this historic home was saved… and from the outside it is regal. Beautiful, modern grounds. For me, there was no “soul” or much charm inside as it has been completely renovated. No period furniture, an art exhibition that didn’t interest me. I was disappointed, after a very long walk from Noumea center.

If you're looking for a place to party on the water with a view of the sea, XO Club is the perfect spot for you. It's known for its two different atmospheres: Terrazza, where they host electro nights, open mic events, and disco parties; and Clubbing, which offers a more general ambiance. The club opens at 5 pm for sunset views over the water, transitions into nightclub mode at 10 pm, and closes at 3:45 am.
Music is pretty good, although not the most recent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They're willing to speak English with you. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. The cocktails are especially good. Really nice ambient, over the water. Most of the 1 star reviews are written by racists who don't like that Black people come to the location. (Translated by Google) I wanted to eat angel shrimp, so I looked everywhere, and this was the only place I found, so I came here. This restaurant is located on the second floor of the Hilton Hotel, and is quite spacious. There is a buffet space in front. On Thursdays, they had all-you-can-eat angel shrimp, and the other menus seemed to be set depending on the day of the week. I happened to go on a Sunday, so I was able to order a la carte. Drinks include alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, but cocktails are expensive. It was around 1300 yen. Sofudori costs around 600 yen. A plate of angel prawns costs 2,700 francs. The bread comes before the plate comes, and you can choose between rice or French potatoes for the shrimp plate. The bread is a hard type of bread that is often served in Nouméa. The shrimp were sweet and delicious! I thought the shrimp wouldn't be up to par with the best, but it was delicious in Nouméa, where you don't often find delicious food! This is a dish that made me think. I guess it just tastes a little strong. The staff were friendly and had the warmth of New Caledonia. Can you see the sea during the day? J'informe la serveuse de ma trouvaille qui s'empresse de vouloir reprendre mon assiette pour la changer mais je lui dit que ce n'est pas la peine pour ne pas gaspiller le plat. Where to start...with the superb food,, every bite is more delicious than the last ! The very friendly hospitality from the owners to the wonderful entertainer with a beautiful voice. The amazing chef ! They pay attention to all the important details in the food and the service. I can't remember when I have had a better dining experience. The atmosphere was just wonderful. Will definitely visit again.

A real gem in Noumea! The food is superb, along with friendly, professional service. Can highly recommend the lobster. Wonderful ambience & the manager personally drove us home due to the taxi situation in NC. A must visit.

A must when in Noumea - beautiful food with international tapas dishes crafted in the French style. Extensive wine and drinks list. Service was perfect and you get the feeling these restaurateurs take great pride in what they do. Thank you for being a highlight of our trip!

My husband and I visited this place on our final night of our honeymoon from NZ. We are very big foodies and had read amazing reviews! This was the best way to end an already incredible time away and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice of restaurant. The food, world class. The cocktails, incredible. The service, outstanding. This is a MUST GO TO restaurant. It will not disappoint and we will 100% be coming back on our next trip to Noumea. Merci Beaucoup, Sahara and Caleb x

Such a journey of flavours! Photo quality presentation of food, with amazing service and great atmosphere. Such a large selection of tapas that it was hard to choose. Every plate served was a 10/10..incroyable!

Loved everything about 12 Glasser! Great atmosphere and service, impressive wine list (of course), delicious and beautiful cocktails, and tasty and experimental dishes. Will definitely visit again when I go back to Noumea.

Great tapas (3 plates between two people was plenty) and cold beer. Nice staff with a calm but fun manner.
