II Terrazzo

$$$$expensive
Italian restaurant
II Terrazzo is a bustling restaurant in Victoria, offering some of the best Northern Italian cuisine. The intimate and romantic ambience features brick fireplaces, candlelit dinners, and a covered terrace with outdoor fireplaces for al fresco dining. The menu boasts excellent appetizers like smoked tuna over arugula with horseradish dressing. Tucked away in a back alley, this hidden gem provides an old-fashioned courtyard setting that transports diners to Italy.
If you want to experience true wow dining in Victoria, this Italian restaurant is the place. From the moment you walk in, the service is fast, attentive, and incredibly kind — you feel taken care of without ever needing to ask twice. The food is absolutely outstanding: fresh, high-end ingredients prepared with real attention to detail. Every dish feels carefully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. It’s the kind of meal that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate how good it really is. This isn’t just dinner, it’s a masterful dining experience. If you’re looking for the best Italian food in Victoria, this is the spot.

This is an honest review. My wife and I got married at the Empress Hotel years ago and had our dinner party at the El Terrazzo in Victoria. Decades ago, it was simply an amazing experience on all fronts: food, atmosphere, etc... we have been going back since to celebrate our anniversary, including last Thanksgiving Sunday. The experience was absolutely FANTASTIC. From the minute we walked in (even as they opened) WOW. Great table, great wine and our meals were over the top. We tarvel lots in Europe and especially France and Italy for the food and it's always the best at El Terrazzo. Well done. You've been open what, 33 years....you are the best !!!
Michel T — Google review
Some restaurants manage to do everything well, and Il Terrazzo is one of them. We hadn't visited in some time, but were were impressed with the atmosphere, service, and above all the food. In such a large restaurant, personal attention and impeccable service are not a given, but these were handled with aplumb. Our server, Yan, his attentive manager, and the many support staff at every stage of the meal were lovely, professional, and without a hint of pretension. The noise level was much less than I remember from the past, perhaps because of the quaint paned windows installed between many of the tables. With its warm interior, accented by firelight and brick befitting an historic Victoria building, Il Terrazzo is perfect for special evenings. The food — everything we tried during this evening's birthday dinner — was perfectly prepared to our specifications (e.g., one vegetarian, one GF/DF, another DF). Grilled calamari appetizer, house-special seafood (one GF/DF) over pasta or risotto, peppercorn steak, and Caprese tomatoes with mozzarella and balsamic — all were as good as any we've had at more rarified (and smaller) restaurants. The prosecco was a delight (despite BC Liquor closures); personal touches were everywhere, including the manager circulating to ask us whether we were satisfied. We very much were.
Lincoln S — Google review
A must-try in Victoria! Every time I came here I always enjoyed every dish from start to finish and left with a full, full stomach. Also the service was always great. Some must-have in my opinion: the mushroom salad, the marinated lamb chops, the seafood linguine and the tiramisu. Also one small note that the restaurant can get loud during peak hours, and it’s on heavier side with the smell with the chef working hard.
Veronica W — Google review
Nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria, Il Terrazzo is a long-standing, family-run Italian restaurant that truly captures the essence of rustic Italian dining. Housed in a building that’s over a century old, the space exudes old-world charm with its warm lighting, brick walls, and inviting ambiance that feels both elegant and comforting. From the moment you walk in, the authenticity and attention to detail are clear. Every staff member contributes to an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and proud of what they do. The menu offers a fantastic selection of rustic and flavourful Italian dishes, each prepared with care and presented beautifully. I did experience a small mix-up with my meal, but the professionalism and warmth of the team made it a non-issue — a testament to how well they value their guests’ experiences. Il Terrazzo isn’t just one of Victoria’s best — it’s easily among the finest Italian restaurants in our country. A must-visit for anyone seeking exceptional food, heartfelt service, and a timeless dining experience.

First of all the ambiance and the service is exceptional here. I celebrated my birthday here with my fiance. The complimentary foccacia and the olive tapenade was absolutely delicious. We ordered Caesar salad to start, the pulled pork canneloni and the spaghetti carbonara. Caesar salad tasted good, but just tasted average. The pasta dishes came in huge portions. The pulled pork canneloni tasted good in the first two bites, but it became kind of nauseating after awhile, as it tasted far too sweet with the bbq sauce, and along with the cream sauce, it was too rich, which caused my fiance to have stomach issues later in the evening. The spaghetti carbonara, the steak that it came with was of excellent quality, even when I ordered it well done. However, the spaghetti itself was far too salty. We also ordered two pannacottas for dessert, which was sickly sweet. The strawberry sauce tasted like the DQ strawberry topping, and the texture was gummy and pasty, with no hint of vanilla bean, and it all tasted one dimensional. It was by far the worst pannacotta that I have ever tasted. Will I visit again? Perhaps..., but there are far better authentic Italian restaurants in Vancouver.

My second time here, and it’s just as amazing as the first! The Frutti di Mare della Casa is absolutely delicious - fresh seafood, perfectly cooked pasta, and a rich, flavorful sauce. Highly recommended for pasta lovers visiting Victoria!
Maewarr — Google review
I eat out a lot and very rarely does the entire meal for 4 people go perfectly without a hitch. The timing of the food was never too fast or slow. Our drinks and waters were always filled. Someone came to check on us periodically and the food was chef’s kiss. My rack of lamb was superb. I shared it with my mom and it was the right amount of food for us as we aren’t big eaters. There were 6 pieces which I thought was very generous. The service from the host to our server and every server I interacted with was warm and genuine. The outdoor/indoor dining is so unique. I feel like I’ve been transported to Italy with all the terracotta plants and small details. I will try to come here each time I’m in town. Thank you for a great evening!

Shelter Restaurant

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Shelter Restaurant is a modern wooden house with a charming outdoor patio that offers elevated bistro cuisine made from local ingredients. Regardless of the weather in Tofino, this bustling restaurant ensures all your needs are met. Their menu features a variety of dishes ranging from seafood delicacies to more casual options.
It was a great ambience, the lounger chairs and chimineas were such a touch! It creates a bougie vibe 😌 ✨️ treat yourself to a great meal with a superb view. We shared the calamari which was ok, but I wish we didn't share the TUNA TATATKI ! Cuz i could have eaten 10 of them. They're take on it was incredible with with crispy rice beneath... add the extra one guys, I messed up! Meg was our server and she was very sweet! She tried to tell me about the tuna too haha Also really enjoyed the crispy tofu bowl. But next time id ask for less spice in my Cesar! Thanks for a wonderful meal! Great place to catch up with a friend 🧡
K M — Google review
Beautiful waterfront view and very fresh seafood. We ordered the calamari which was delicate and crispy. It could do with a bit of salt and pepper in the batter to make it even more awesome. Mussels were fairly flavourful and delicate. The seafood chowder needed a bit more salt and pepper and perhaps some herbs would enhance the flavour. It was slightly bland. Halibut was good but adding a bit lemon or lime on the side would have enhanced the flavour. Brussels sprouts was absolutely delicious with a bit of sweetness and tang. The server was attentive and friendly. If you don’t have a reservation try coming in early before 5 for a walk in. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Jennifer — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing. The calamari were the best I have ever had, super fresh, soft and light. We also tried the tacos, seafood fettuccine , beef burger and halibut and they all were excellent. They also have an in-house somalier, Paula, who is very knowledgeable and amazing all-around. Our server Nina was extremely friendly and informative. We will return!
Ioana Z — Google review
After some research, we went to this waterfront restaurant and was seated at the bar so we could watch the World Series. The menu offered a good variety of seafood and meat dishes as shown The popular venue was quite busy. Service was very good. We had mussels, halibut, calamari and sockeye salmon all which were very savoury and flavourful. The Pilsner beer was served in proper frosted mugs. Lighting was quite dim so it was a challenge to see our food particularly the mussels in the bowl. Our server brought us a table light to accommodate. Great dinner experience in a beautiful setting
Gate P — Google review
Great service. I highly recommend the oysters, one of the best I’ve had on the island as I visit. Got the kale salmon salad also which was a bit bland I almost thought they forgot to add the vinaigrette. I didn’t find the kale salad notable as I expected from the reviews. The tuna tataki was amazing though, I highly recommend that. Great heated patio looking over the waters. I’d return here again.
Jordan Y — Google review
We got in right away without a reservation mid October, though it was busy and just two of us. Sat next to a fireplace and had a gorgeous view of the Harbour sunset. Food and service were both phenomenal. We had the calamari, halibut and mussels. Next time we would go sooner to enjoy the view before it got too dark to see anything.
Cass C — Google review
Service was amazing, our waiter was interactive but not annoying. Food was top notch. The seared salmon and risotto was worth every penny. The brussel sprouts were out of this world.
John D — Google review
We had to wait approximately 30 minutes to get a table as a walk-in. The weather was great so we didn't mind to wait. I wish there was a place nearby or at the restauran's bar to be able to order a drink while waiting. Reservation is highly recommended to avoid wait time. The food was amazing and service was professional. The food items and the drinks are priced moderately for being a premium Vacation spot restaurant. My Wife and one of our friends had a the Halibut and it was amazing. I had the Seafood chowder as an appetizer and we shared a couple of Calamari. Our Mom had the Thai Curry seafood dish and I had a Large bowl of Fresh Local mussels. We had a bottle of wine, a couple of cocktails and a Beer We will definitely return on our next visit.

Wolf in the Fog

Mentioned on
1 list
$$$$expensive
Restaurant
Bar
Wolf in the Fog is a charming sea-view eatery with a cozy, rustic atmosphere that offers innovative dishes and cocktails made from locally sourced ingredients. This popular restaurant not only captivates diners with its exquisite food, but also impresses with its stunning decor and ambiance. It is worth noting that Wolf in the Fog caters to families, as it provides a kids menu for younger guests.
It’s our second time here. The first was back in 2019 when we had travelled to Tofino for the first time. This restaurant never disappoints. One of the best views of the town with the beautiful mountain backdrop. If it’s a warm summer day, sit on their patio. The service is exceptional. We remember our server as the “phenomenal girl” who would use that word a lot to explain the food (and she’s absolutely right). We tried the following: Special Cod collars 3/5 Octopus 5/5 Seaweed salad 4/5 Scallops gratin 4/5 Duck pasta 5/5 Dream on (whiskey cocktail with coconut) 5/5
Akash B — Google review
All the dishes tasted fantastic and the portion sizes were very generous, but it felt like every dish had maybe 1-2 too many ingredients. They were all very saucy and had too many textures for my preference - for me, every dish felt like I was eating a salad (even when it shouldn’t have). Not my favorite, but again, flavors: 100% I also ordered the Oracle as an NA drink, super subtle flavor (like almost non existent)
Monica C — Google review
Wolf in the Fog has a warm and cozy vibe, especially on the second-floor patio. Our server was very friendly and made the experience even better. We really enjoyed the octopus, but the scallop dish was a bit too sour for our taste. Overall, a nice spot with a welcoming atmosphere.
Nikoo H — Google review
The food at Wolf in the Fog was so delicious and the service was outstanding!!!! Unfortunately, I do not remember the gentleman's name that waited on us but he was super knowledgeable of the food and drink menu. He was also quick to fix the heater on the patio for the table next to us!!!! We had the appetizer on special that he recommended which was along the lines of a bruschetta but SO much better! The beet salad, pierogies and halibut!!!! All so wonderful! The wine and cocktails we outstanding and well the Jameson....it speaks for itself. We only drink that on special occasions and that night was the specialist! Our wedding night and my 42nd birthday! Thank you Wolf in the Fog for making it memorable! Cheers!

We’ve been coming here for over five years, and it continues to be the highlight of every trip to Tofino, so much so that we often come twice in one visit. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star; in our opinion, it’s the best dining experience in BC, hands down. The innovation, creativity, and consistency are unmatched. We dined both last night and tonight, and every dish was next-level. The octopus was unreal, perfectly cooked with warm spices, a gentle heat, and served on a crunchy, flavourful base that tied everything together. The gnocchi blue cheese special was pure comfort: warm pear pieces, toasted hazelnuts, and crisp vegetables in a bowl of rich, layered flavours. And the dessert — the pistachio cake — was so mind-blowing we ordered it twice. We’ve never done that before at any restaurant. Every bite was perfection. We wish our photos did it justice, but honestly, the food was so good we kept forgetting to take them. Hats off to the chef, truly a legend. We chickened out of saying it in person, but want to say it here: these were the best meals we’ve had in North America. This place deserves every accolade imaginable.
Marissa K — Google review
I think my expectations were too high because of all the “best food in Tofino” comments I’ve read over the years. It depends what you’re after I suppose. The price of the dishes just didn’t really reflect the quality, in my opinion. My tenderloin was undercooked and my partner’s halibut was soggy. The actual flavour hit the mark, but I have to agree with some reviews here that the cumulative textures were off. We ordered a fish dip to start and were quite confused when we were presented with something more like a croquette/crab cake. The taste was there but portion was so small for $20. However, the service and cocktails were excellent. Edit: after reading other reviews… pretty sure they didn’t even give us the right starter. 🫠 So disappointing.
Veronika S — Google review
Had dinner here last month, and the experience was amazing. The service was so attentive and engaging and the interior of the restaurant was really nice and warm. The cocktails were great, and the food was so delicious. If we are ever back in Tofino we would 100% need to eat here again, we loved it.
Logan G — Google review
After a greatly anticipated visit, my wife and I finally visited The Wolf and the Fog. We made a reservation three weeks in advance, so we were disappointed to be seated alone on the outdoor patio, despite several empty tables inside. We asked to move indoors but were told the empty tables were reserved. Frustratingly, one of these indoor tables remained vacant for our entire visit. The food, however, was generally excellent. My wife’s salmon bowl (the specia) was amazing, and the fries were a perfect 10/10 while my burger was a 7/10. The main issue was the atmosphere. The indoor space had great decorations and a nice vibe, but the patio felt sterile and lacked the character of the restaurant. For a highly anticipated, three week old reservation, we expected more than to be stuck in the outdoor patio while indoor tables sat empty. I'd like to say we'd come back but not being able to make a reservation that guarantees being sat inside makes that uncertain.

Bard & Banker

$$$$affordable
Pub
Nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria, Bard & Banker is a classic pub that beautifully marries history with modern-day charm. Housed in a building that dates back to 1885, this venue was once the Bank of British Columbia and now serves as a vibrant gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. With its warm wood accents and old-world decor, it offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying handcrafted cocktails or draft beers.
Lovely dining experience! We came from the Blackball Ferry and spotted the outdoor seating area while strolling downtown. We came at an off time between lunch / dinner and didn’t need to wait. Our server was sweet and checked in on us every so often. My husband and I shared a dozen oysters, the Bard salad, and the spiced honey fried chicken sandwich - all of which were excellent! We enjoyed the drinks as well. The bar inside the main restaurant looked phenomenal and made us want to make a return visit in the future.
Vivian C — Google review
Feeling like we are in 1900s because they still maintain original interior. Memorable moment with my family to celebrate the birthday for my wife. Better not to serve a food at once because table is compact. Food, wine and staffs are wonderful. Strongly recommend to book in advance.
Sean L — Google review
Be aware that if a wine is N/A on the Happy Hour menu there is no substitution. We had a great server, Jill, and she helped us at our outside table with food choices. Later when it started to rain we got to be at the bar inside. Good food portions. The nachos looked great at another table;) Interior decor excellent. Servers were helpful all the way through our service. Go and enjoy this pub.
Catherine D — Google review
Beautiful space but very dark. Good service. Over priced, underwhelming food. But worse, downright bad marketing. The lettuce wrap dish described as shrimp and veg on crunchy noodles. Really 7 tiny shrimp tiny. Wilted straps of green pepper, 1/10th of a very small pepper, 3 shreds of cartots and 8 bits of green onions, and some over oozed ramen noodles (the super cheap kind) swimming in a sweet sauce. Overall disgusting and scammy. Nothing fresh and clean about the food.
Samantha M — Google review
This was the best cheeseburger in Victoria. We stumbled into this place late afternoon. It wasn't busy but nothing really is during the week anymore. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was epic. I'm definitely coming back during the night....I can only imagine what a fun time it would be.....top Marks.
Alan G — Google review
Had the fish and chips here and they were excellent. The batter was light and crispy, and the portions were generous. I ordered the two-piece but probably could have managed with just one—definitely not leaving hungry. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. Great spot, highly recommend.
Robert S — Google review
If you're visiting Victoria, I recommend this restaurant. It has very good dishes, and you'll really enjoy what you eat. The place inside is incredible, and if you're there in the summer, you can enjoy the patio. They're dog-friendly. The service of the waiters and staff is very good and they are friendly.
David S — Google review
Bard & Banker is a great place to be with your family and friends! Beautiful live music started at 21:00 on Saturday night and enjoyed my favorite beer Guinness! The fish and chips I have ordered was very delicious and reasonable priced! Loved the rich wooden interior and made me think of the Irish pubs in Dublin , Ireland ! Definitely worth a visit and would love to come back soon .

The Schooner Restaurant

Seafood restaurant
Steak house
Nestled in the heart of downtown Tofino, The Schooner Restaurant has been a beloved dining establishment since 1949. This charming eatery offers a cozy yet refined atmosphere, perfect for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings with friends. Renowned for its delectable steak and seafood dishes, The Schooner frequently updates its menu to showcase fresh local ingredients.
After a long day of exploring, we were sad to find that many restaurants were already closed by 8 pm, even thought it doesn’t get dark until after 9 in summer. We happened upon Schooner while driving around town. We don’t have a reservation, but they seated us right away. The service was friendly. We had the bacon wrapped scallops, which were tasty. I had the seafood pasta which was surprisingly light despite its white cream sauce. The salmon in this dish was the highlight for me, so tender. My husband at the ribs which he said were some of the best he’s had in a long time. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. He could not stop eating until his plate was clean! Portions were ample as we were both stuffed. Oh yeah, the drinks were also good.
Lanny H — Google review
Thank you Mackenzie and the staff at The Schooner Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious with amazing presentation, flavours and textures. Please plan ahead and make a reservation to take some stress out of your dinner. For drinks we had the margarita and longer island. We had the tenderloin and the hot pot for our meals. Finished with the creme brule and crumble. It was all mouthwatering. Hopefully we can come back again someday.
Denis G — Google review
Our experience at Schooner was lovely. First time in Tofino and we decided on visiting here for convenience. What a great restaurant with a wonderful cozy vibe (the October fog/rain aided this). Our dishes were equally as warm and cozy, wonderfully flavourful and exceptional quantity of food served for the price. We both left with full bellies. 110% recommend dining here if you’re staying in Tofino!
Michael E — Google review
My goodness what a blast we had! Amazingly delicious food, served by the most kind, hospitable, funny and passionate team I have ever met! Immediately felt at home… We ate there twice in our 4 days stay… When in Tofino, go eat at the Schooner Restaurant!

We stopped in on the last day of our wedding week in Tofino. We ordered a titan(ic) Caesar and even though it wasn’t being offered at the moment the kitchen said yes to making us one ! What an epic creation, grilled cheese with bacon, chicken tenders, salmon skewer, spicy shrimp , onion rings all hovering above an awesome Caesar ! Sooooooooo good! The staff here are legends- thank you SO much for the great memories 🤍
Molly W — Google review
We went to The Schooner in August for my daughter’s birthday and it was such a memorable night. The food was outstanding, top quality seafood that felt like fine dining yet still welcoming for kids. Even the kids’ meal was impressive and beautifully presented, which made the evening feel extra special for my family. Our server, Tyese, went above and beyond with kindness and truly made the night unforgettable. She even surprised us with a handmade gift at the end, which touched me deeply and is something I am still reminiscing on. Her thoughtfulness turned a wonderful dinner into an experience we will never forget.

The Schooner Restaurant in Tofino has a long & varied history since it was established in 1949. This family eatery is now in the capable hands of Mare, who took over the helm in 1987, & is now supported by her son & a team of friendly staff members. The team includes Kenzie, who graciously served me on a recent visit. My late lunchtime visit’s bill came to 74.85 $ with tip, after a Tofino Ethereal IPA @ 9:50 $ & a Tofino plate crafted to serve one @ 50$. It is centrally located on Campbell Street, which is the main street in Tofino, which links directly with the Highway by which one enters this stunning west coast ocean village. It is closed on Monday & Tuesday, open other days for lunch & dinner. Posted by S Fuller

The fish were perfectly cooked, light with a fantastic peppercorn sauce. Great server, funny and very helpful.

Nautical Nellies Steak & Seafood House

$$$$expensive
Seafood restaurant
Nautical Nellies Steak & Seafood House has been a beloved family-owned establishment in Victoria since 1997. It's renowned for its gourmet seafood and steak dishes, as well as its happy hours and heated patio. The restaurant is known for serving high-quality fine dining with creative twists, earning a reputation as the go-to place for Surf And Turf in Victoria.
We’ve been coming to Victoria for years but this was our 1st time ever eating at Nautical Nellies. And it most certainly will not be our last! It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Everything was perfectly prepared and Melissa N. was a fantastic server. She was kind and attentive. We got lucky with finding a parking spot directly in-front of the restaurant; however there’s 2 parking lots near by. We booked a reservation which we’re glad we did. Because it was really busy but there didn’t seem to have a wait. We ate here on a Thursday evening. Not in the photos below is the bread that we ordered and it was also absolutely delicious! For how busy it was, it was very quiet which was really nice. So we were able to chat without the need to “yell” or speak loudly. Made for a really comfortable meal. Truthfully this place would be a fantastic date night or family dinner. This 100% will be where we eat the next time we’re in Victoria.

Nautical Nellies Steak & Seafood House offers a delightful dining experience right in front of the harbor. The atmosphere is charming, creating a perfect setting for a relaxing meal, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you are well-fed; you definitely won't leave feeling hungry! The cocktails are impressively large, almost pint-sized, and they are absolutely delicious. As for the food, it was beautifully cooked and elegantly presented. Each dish was light, accompanied by a flavorful sauce that was neither too heavy nor overly spicy, making it a pleasure to eat. After such a satisfying dinner, a leisurely walk along the harbor was the perfect way to conclude the evening. Overall, I truly enjoyed my meal and the ambiance at Nautical Nellies. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Victoria

We was visited Victoria for 2 nights and try to find a nice restaurant for lunch. We found "Nautical" in Google Map and decided to give it a try. We got a very nice and warm welcome. We chosen to sit outside, because it was a sunny day. We had a wonderful view of the harbor. We didn't wait too long for the food. The food was really nice. We enjoyed very much.

We were visiting Victoria from Saskatchewan for a wedding, and one of the days we had to ourselves we wanted to go for fresh seafood. We were recommended to Nautical Nellie’s and boy were we glad! This spot was phenomenal for a nice dinner out! With it also being so close to the ocean, it was so phenomenal. The food was exquisite. Will definitely come again!!

A visit to Victoria BC isn't complete without a dining experience at Nautical Nellies Steak and Seafood House. You'll be extremely lucky if you get Aaron as your server, amazing customer service and very friendly demeanor, he is good at what he does and is knowledgeable about all the dishes on their menu. Went there shortly after landing in Victoria to grab a quick bite for lunch, thoroughly enjoyed the Lobster roll w/ Lobster bisque and Fries. Food was so delicious, went for dinner the following day. This time they knocked it right out the park, the Oysters were so fresh, the Dynamite roll did not disappoint, keep the Margaritas coming and I highly recommend the Painkiller it will cure anything...the star of the show was the Atlantic Lobster Seafood Platter. A whole Lobster, Salmon, Scallops, Jumbo Shrimps, Mussels, Clams and Crab cakes, Buonissimo!

If you're looking for a fabulous dining experience, this high-end restaurant in a fantastic spot is just the place! You'll enjoy mouthwatering food, delightful cocktails, and the warmest service. And let me tell you, the dessert was truly the star of the show!

We took a couple of friends out for a birthday. Everything was perfect. The service was spot on. The food was thourly enjoyed by everyone. The cocktail I had many different levels of flavors. The steaks were all cooked to perfection. The fish also cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes are so creamy with hints of butter. My wife and I will definitely be back for more. Thank you all for an amazing birthday experience.

Their specialty lies in their variety of pancake flavors such as Oranges Del Sol, Double Stacked Pancakes, and Apples Charlotte pancakes.
Excellent food and service. So many fresh, homemade ingredients paired perfectly together. We did wait in line outside for 25 minutes before being seated but it was worth the wait. Homemade whipped cream, fruit compote, and French toast were delectable and big enough to share. We shared the breakfast sandwich as well and it was huge and delicious. Highly recommend eating here while in Victoria.

We ordered the avocado toast, the margherita omelette, and the double stack griddle cakes. Everything was great. The pancakes were incredibly fluffy, and the homemade maple peach jam on the toast was delicious. The service was excellent, super attentive and friendly. I’m really glad we came here. There is a bit of a wait, but it’s totally worth it, not just for the food, but for how well they treat you too.

We came to Victoria for a weekend getaway and I planned ahead for places to eat. The Blue Fox cafe was one I was looking forward to for breakfast. We were able to easily walk to the restaurant from our hotel and I was surprised to not see a line outside, based on what I had read. There were only a couple of others in front of us and our wait was short. The inside is not a large space, but it is cozy and the atmosphere was great and has a nice personal feel. Our server was very friendly and our order taken promptly. Our food was delicious and portions large. Honestly, looking around I didn’t see a dish that I would not have wanted to try. As we ate, I noticed that the line outside had grown significantly, and I saw why many reviews mention a wait. I could see it being 30 minutes, easily. We hit it at the right time, luckily. I would definitely return if I visit Victoria again.

A few weeks ago, I came to Victoria to join a race and wanted to try a brunch place while I was there. Blue Fox Café seems like a really popular spot, we waited for around an hour, and the line didn’t stop even as it got close to closing time. The portions are massive, and the menu is quite varied. I’d definitely recommend sharing, as I can’t imagine finishing anything on my own (we took the pancakes to go for a pre-race breakfast). They also have a pretty quirky drink menu, with options like chili hot chocolate and hot cider. I really enjoyed my dirty chai, nicely spiced without being too sweet. Overall, recommended if you are in Victoria! Just come prepared to wait for a table. Oranges del Sol ($22) Two griddle cakes (massive, thick pancakes - I’m pretty sure they used buttermilk) with oranges, pecans, vanilla bean cream, and orange blossom syrup. As a sweet tooth, this was my favorite! The pancakes were super fluffy, and the orange added a refreshing twist. I also loved the orange blossom syrup and they even gave us extra at no extra charges for the leftovers. Chorizo & Eggs ($21) Eggs with spicy chorizo and tomato purée, served alongside toast and jam. A solid dish; the chorizo added a nice kick, though the egg texture felt a bit off to me. I think potatoes would have paired better than the toast. My main complaint was that the dish was served cold. Moroccan Chicken Benny ($24) This benny was served on a bagel instead of the traditional English muffin. The portions were generous, and the chicken was tender, though the overall taste was a bit on the sweet side (probably from the apple chutney or Moroccan spice). Still, one of the better Bennies I’ve had… their hollandaise was quite good.

I went to Blue Fox Cafe in Victoria for breakfast Today. I got lucky as it is a Tuesday and I got a table right away. But the place got quickly full, soon after. I had the ‘Special coffee of the day’ and Fox’s Grill (see photo). You get free regular coffee refill with any Coffee order. Coffee was great, so was the Fox’s Grill (generous serving). It is not a breakfast one can/should do on a regular basis but for a special occasion, for sure. If I had to suggest anything, it would be if they offered a ‘senior’ portion of Fox’s Grill. The service was superb and they were right there to top up your coffee and your water. I definitely recommend Blue Fox Cafe to anyone visiting Victoria. Keep up the great work.

In town visiting a friend and we came here for brunch. Everything was great. There was a little wait to get in, but it only took 20 minutes. Once inside, the staff was very friendly, food was delicious, and atmosphere was great! More than worth the wait.

Food was good. Service gave me a feeling we were discriminated. It was our first time at the cafe yet we did not expreience a warm greeting. We realized there was a sign saying how to line up. 2 groups ahead of us went inside, 1 was at the doorway for a while so we thought that was how the line goes. So when we went in, we did how the one before us did but then we were called out and led to wait outside to keep that area. Our server was nice, but the lady who led us outside who seated us was cold. So yeah we are all paying customers, we atleast expect same treatment...not discriminating based on color and choosing who to call out.

This is a special cafe. Portions are big. Menu items are exhaustive with a huge range of omletes, porridge etc. I would want to return several times just to try everything. Loved the chai and the maple banana porridge. This is the best cafe I've gone to in Canada.

Wonderful atmosphere with great service. Got in quickly and were treated with fresh focaccia bread! So good we ate 2 baskets!! I had a seafood curry pasta - very good - and my friend had the truffle meatball pasta which she also loved. We had the small size and still left stuffed because we had so much delicious bread! Also loved the sangria on tap! Would come or recommend to anyone in Victoria!

Great Italian all around. Nice variety of dishes. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food amazing. The bread for me alone is worth coming back for. Nice atmosphere. Very ample helpings so bring an appetite and the happy hour has some great values on drinks and appetizers. Compliments to the management for such a well run restaurant. Wish we had a few places like this back in the states.

Went on a recommendation and loved it. Luckily when we went there was a band playing Jazz. It was so cool. Loved the atmosphere and the chilling vibe. Has a patio but inside is way better for seating. Got their Hot Chocolate for drinks and it was delicious. For food we got Gnocchi and Salad which again were just so good. Totally recommended.

I really liked the service. The host was very welcoming and accommodating especially when it was so busy. Our waiter angel was also attentive his timing and the knowledge of the menu helpful as it was our first time there. Their happy hour seems like it has some great values. Overall I would definitely come here again!

Writing this I kind of feel a bit sad that I can't back soon as we are on the other side of the country. :) We went one night and the line up and the place was packed. So decided against it. The recommendations from friends made me go back. It was our 30th anniversary month and the visit was worth it. The evening was very enjoyable. The place was busy as usual but it really wasn't a long wait. It's tight in there. The staff have it worked out like experts to be able to manoeuvre the tables and chairs to get you seated. Awesome staff. Thanks very much. Thanks Kelsey for the service. Menu items as attached the pics. So delicious.

We were 2 nights in Victoria for a short holiday. So we search Google Map for a nice restaurant for lunch. So here we are. We are impressed with Pagliacci's Restaurant. The Decoration and the atmosphere are very nice. The Food & services was excellent. We enjoyed our Espresso very much. Too bad that we cannot have any grilled, because it will be served only Dinner time. We has pasta for lunch. The restaurant is good located, easy to find and with some seating outside.

This is still the best Italian eatery in Victoria. We haven't been since COVID but the memories came flooding back. The Happy Hour menu was very good.... I recommend the Oceans Eleven mussels. We also shared the Bicycle Thief..... fantastic. Bill Murray's Meatballs......and desert was a marble cheesecake. Just unreal.....we overdid the Happy Hour menu..... next time we'll destroy some entrees.

I went for dinner with a friend tonight. When we ordered, I asked for the Mr. Robert's Seafood Lasagna half portion and the Hemingway Short Story half portion. I don’t remember exactly, but I’m pretty sure I mentioned “half” when ordering the lasagna. However, when the dish arrived, it looked like a full size. I asked two different staff members if it was a half portion—one said the lasagna only comes in one size, while another said it looked like a small. The food itself was tasty, but the service left me confused. Our bill came to around $90 for two dishes, one 5oz glass of wine, and one beer. When I asked our server again about the lasagna size, he repeated that it only comes in one size. What was even more confusing is that I noticed the table next to us had their lasagna split into two portions, but ours wasn’t. On top of that, when we were first seated, there was no guidance or proper welcome from the server. It would have been better if the staff had simply explained from the beginning that the lasagna only comes in one size. The menu had two prices so I thought I could order half. The food was good, I can’t say the service was impressive.

SoBo Restaurant is a renowned seafood spot known for its relaxed setting and menu featuring local, seasonal ingredients. It gained popularity as one of Canada's best-known eateries, starting as a small purple food truck. The restaurant offers crispy rock shrimp, cod, and halibut sourced directly from the ocean. Additionally, it houses Tacofino, which has become a destination in itself with food trucks in Vancouver, Victoria, and Kelowna.
Excellent food! Everything seems to be made from scratch - from the falafels to the wraps to the seafood chowder. And they serve real whipped cream on the tasty key lime pie. Fish tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back to this family owned place that’s putting so much love into their food!

Overall impression of this place is good. We tried 6 of their dishes during lunch and my favourite item was the salmon chowder. Served hot and smokey. The crispy polenta fries are such a treat. I was expecting more leafy greens in the soba noodle salad, but it is a bit heavier on the carb side. Other dishes were ok.
M P — Google review
The restaurant looks really good and when you enter you see the pastries and their own cooking book. Can’t go wrong you think. But the food is a disappointment. The octopus was overcooked and the sauce made it unbalanced. The salmon was to raw and tasted somewhat fishy. Service was okay but not adequate when I told them about the salmon dish. The local beer was good. I found the place overpriced. Unfortunately not a great experience after all.

The only place that opens during the afternoon. There was a bit of a wait but wow, the food is amazingly delicious. Ordered a dozen Pacific oysters, which were delicious. The seafood chowder was absolutely delicious. Nice friendly staff and service was excellent.

We had an awesome time and great food. The mushroom pizza is to die for! The oysters were good but need to be eaten while hot. Very nice decor and interesting artwork. Great for bringing the kids. And the cutlery is magnetized so the kids can play with those At the table.

A great place for lunch or dinner! We had the Manila clams x 2 and the margherita pizza with a starter of polenta fries. All was delicious. Know that the polenta fries are quite filling so one per person is lots (if also eating mains) tho it seems like it wouldn’t be. Our clams had a bit of sand in them but that happens. The bread with them was excellent with salt flakes on top. Perfect for dipping in the clam broth. We finished up with a slice of key lime pie which is not to be missed!

We came to visit Tofino/Ucluelet from Vancouver. After doing a bit research, we decided to come to SoBo for lunch. This place is simply amazing. The staffs are ultra friendly and knowledgeable. Their food is fresh and delicious. Price is also very reasonable. We had tofu pocket with smoked salmon, fish chowder, broiled oyster, fried oysters, and their daily special - wild mushroom linguini. Every dish is so good that I so want to just come back for dinner again. These guys really know their food. 👍👍👍

The Irish Times Pub in Victoria is a traditional Irish bar located in downtown Victoria, offering a warm and lively atmosphere with its cozy interiors and spirited charm. This iconic pub features two levels, live music, classic pub fare, and an extensive selection of draft beers including both Irish and local brews. The venue also boasts a comprehensive whiskey collection and menus that blend classic Irish dishes with fresh west coast ingredients.
Popped in here to eat and have some beers while visiting! The architecture of the building is simply astounding and the interior is just as full of character and charm! We were greeted outside the front door by a hostess and seated. A kind waitress came to get our drink order then once they came, she took our food order. The local beer was very good and you can get a custom printed Guinness where they print a picture you upload in the head of your Guinness! The shepherds pie, butter chicken, burger and salmon burger as well as everything was quite tasty! I’d highly recommend eating here and having a pint or more! Great atmosphere to soak in and enjoy your good and beverage! Great spot!

The atmosphere here is really nice — I loved the stylish and cozy interior. It’s a great place to hang out if you’re just looking for a drink. The beer was decent, and the service was okay, though it could definitely be better. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and in the evening we were actually turned away because the place was fully packed. As for the food, it was just average. I’d especially avoid the chowder — it was nothing like the real thing. Overall, it’s a decent spot, but expect crowds and don’t come hungry.

I stopped into the Irish Times Public House in Victoria and had such a lovely experience. I tried the mango peach Bellini, which was sweet, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, and ordered the happy hour mini mac & cheese, which was baked in a rich three-cheese blend and topped with truffle breadcrumbs. Comfort food elevated! What really made the visit stand out, though, was the bartender, Cody. He was incredibly welcoming and genuinely friendly, one of those people who makes you feel right at home. Service was attentive and warm, 100% on point from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the historic pub vibe added a lot of charm. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Victoria!

The restaurant was clean and busy, and we were seated promptly. Greeting staff were very polite and welcoming. The place definitely had a pub vibe and the patrons seemed to be having a good night. Food was plentiful, tasty, and came very quick. We had the fish and chips, with a tremendously large Nacho platter and some Irish stew. The food was great and would come back to eat again. The downside was our server, who seemed more interested in attending and selling merchandise to a table across from us. We didn't get much attention and had to ask several times for refills. Eventually, we asked some of the servers who brought our food for things we needed. First time in a while where I tipped very minimally due to disappointment.

Fantastic friendly welcoming service from all the staff we met. The drinks (Guinness and Kilkenny of course) were poured expertly. The pork bites are delicious, as is the rest of the food. Plus you gotta make a custom printed Guinness!

Airport
Vancouver International Airport is a major hub located in the southwest of Vancouver, offering seamless travel experiences with exceptional facilities and services. The airport boasts impressive organization and efficiency, with dedicated staff providing commendable professionalism. It is a busy and beautiful airport that sees thousands of passengers traveling globally. The entire space is clean and well-maintained, featuring numerous restaurants catering to all types of travelers, ample amenities, natural lighting, comfortable seating, and detailed signage for easy navigation.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is one of the most well-organized and traveler-friendly airports I’ve been through. The layout is clear, signage is easy to follow, and the staff are generally helpful. I especially appreciate the clean facilities and the variety of food and shopping options. Security and customs are efficient compared to many other major airports. Overall, a smooth and pleasant travel experience.

Had a great experience here doing a quick layover. Was able to get out and into the airport without any issues or major delays. Some food/souvenir options as well throughout the airport that make it easy to pass time when needed. The only concern is that security instructions were not always clear, but nothing major.

2025 August 3★ The Vancouver airport is really the bridge to Asian countries from Canada. There's no doubt about that. With Canada spanning a good chunk of land between East and West, you are certainly going to need a stop here when flying from the East coast. This airport isn't bad, but it's not spectacular. The good: easy interconnecting connections for multi leg flights There's some decent open spaces such as the open air atrium and play areas. The bad: the food prices are atrocious. About $20+ for fast food. Face it, you'll be stopping by here eventually. Just pack yourself a cup noodles.

This airport, despite its substantial size, proved remarkably easy to navigate. Signage was strategically placed and straightforward to comprehend, with ample bathrooms, rest areas, and dining options available. The facilities, including the bathrooms, were impeccably maintained—no issues encountered during my first visit. Priority pass lounge were good as well.

I flew into Vancouver (YVR) airport and out of 5 days later. I was booked to stay at a hotel in the Richmond area, which provided a complimentary shuttle ride to and from the airport. Once my plane arrived, and I disembarked, there was an easy pathway to guide you to Canadian immigration and customs control points. Be prepared for about a mile walk from plane door to the immigration area. You will be stopping to collect your luggage, unless you only had carry-on. Once through the immigration and customs control points, you will see signs for transportation. If you are looking for the hotel shuttles, head upstairs and look for the exit doors around the Purebread shop. The doors will be right near the sign. Go out the doors and to the right. There will be signs indicating hotel shuttle pickup point. I've added some pictures of what the area looks like so there is some familiarity. Overall, I found the airport really easy to negotiate and well laid out. While you will NEED to be observant to look for the signs, you should be able to find your way. Also, the staff walking through the airport, the information desk, and security people are really helpful in answering questions. I hope you experience in this airport is as good as mine.

The chapel area is very CLEAN, quiet, private, and welcoming. The information lady upstairs wished me to enjoy my prayer when I asked her where the chapel is. I DID 😊. Staff are respectful welcoming taking really good care of the place. Dennis guided me and my son. Very thankful and grateful to the management and personnel in charge. Staff are great, smiling, and supportive. The chapel is located on Level 2 - across from Tim Hortons. Enjoy 🤲🏻📿📖🧎🏻‍♂️‍➡️🧎‍➡️

One of the nicer airports out there. Clean, modern, and surprisingly calming for a busy place. The layout makes sense, and the signage is clear so it’s easy to get around. There’s a good mix of food and shops, plus some local touches that give it personality. Security and customs usually move pretty efficiently. Overall, it feels like a smooth start or end to any trip.
