Really enjoyed our visit to the brewery on our trip to Victoria. Good selection of beers from lagers to IPA. The raspberry wheat ale had juicy raspberry flavour. They printed the beers in the flight as part of the order which was quite cool.

Great spot for some great beer in Victoria. Went on a sunny evening and sat outside on their good sized patio - it’s on a side street so relatively protected from the traffic noise of Government St - on which the brewery fronts. Did a flight of IPAs, which were all great, but my favourite was the Free Ride, followed closely by the Yacht Rocker. Three of us shared the Loaded Hot Dog Tower, an homage to seafood towers in fancy restaurants, consisting of 4 x hot dogs, 4 x corn dogs plus loaded tots and accompaniments! Unfortunately came out kinda cold, like it had been sitting for 5 or 10 minutes before being delivered to our table, the only reason I deducted a star from the review. All staff were very friendly.

Amazing place! amazing beer! Amazing people! We don’t usually drink beer, and we enjoyed the beer and food so much, after a long bike ride, so we went back for a second time in a week. As we were enjoying the good tasting beer, my husband dropped and lost his wedding band under the terrasse floor. As we’re looking for it, the staff came, they removed a long wooden piece of the floor so we can look for it, and they found it!!! We are blessed to have met those nice people! The printout card you get with your flight telling you about your 4 beers and the order to drink them in is cool! Fun decor and vibe. Busy spot. While it is a great spot, they really should clean the floor more frequently - so much food debris everywhere! Was there a food fight?? There seemed to be a security guard staring off into space... Maybe they could pitch in with the floors....

I have always thought of Phillips as just a brewery and myself not being a beer lover haven’t gone there much. However with the addition of Roast, there is now plenty of tasty food options. And they also make their own gin so I was pleasantly surprised with a summer gin cocktail that tasted great. They have expanded their patio so we didn’t have any trouble finding a table on a hot summers night and it’s also dog friendly… how can you go wrong?

This nicely located brewing company has an amazing selection of brewed beers and locally sourced soda’s. Their beers are overall a bit more on the funky side which isn’t my style. Some of them also lacked a bit of depth, but I’m used to the Belgian beers so it’s probably my preference. They have a lovely spot which is really cozy and quiet. I would definitely recommend visiting!

The staff were friendly and welcoming as we sampled some beers before ordering. I absolutely loved the ube beer – it was amazing, and I'm even considering coming back every day just for that! The atmosphere was great both during the day and at night. While I can't speak to the other snacks or drinks, the service and the ube beer were definitely fantastic!

Enjoyed a great flight plus a pint or two on the fantastic patio in Market Square. The service was great, the beer was top notch and I would happily come back again next time I’m in town. They have a wide variety of beers to suit any preference, do yourself a favour and check them out!

Lovely place for a beer. The selection is diverse and I tried a tasty frothy pale ale as well as a hazy IPA that packed a fruity punch. The patio is a great place to soak in the sun rays when it's out.

Had stopped in Victoria from an Alaskan cruise, had a snack here and glad we did. Very nice atmosphere overlooking the water. Nachos were outrageous good as were the parm truffle fries. Cold beer and super service too.

The dark lager was fantastic. Bartender was really patient helping me decide on what to try. Our whole group tried something different and all beer styles were super tasty. Patio seating on a little courtyard with lots of shops and places to eat. Absolutely recommend stopping in for a pint and snacks.!

Whistle Buoy was on our list of craft breweries to visit while in Victoria and as it turns out..as the rains hit, we were there! Two flights of beer later and with great food from Grub, we were set to order more beer! Went in for some samples...ended up eating there, drinking more, meeting new friends and picking up cans for the rest of our vacation. We can definitely highly recommend Whistle Buoy Brewing Company as a place to relax, enjoy craft ale and great food and music and enjoy everything Victoria has to offer!!

After years of waiting to visit Hoyne, today I got the chance to visit the best brewery in the BC province. Hoyne makes the most remarkable beers. Cheers to more beers!!

Top level Brewery. I’ve had multiple breweries provide beer for our keg in our multiple professional men in our residential home, but nobody delivers like Hoyne. No delivery charge with a wide range of delicious beers. Many favourites we are enjoying over the years and currently loving the liquid sunshine. We had the chance to taste test the excellent true north beer at the Grizzlies hockey game while being promoted by one of their great employees Finn. Competitive market, but Hoyne’s free KEG delivery is a huge bonus. Thank you Hoyne for making me a satisfied customer for almost a decade. ❤️

Hat's off to the Hoyne team (particularly Laura in the growler station!). Not only have I enjoyed their beers for the longest time (dark matter is my favourite), the staff are super welcoming and very easy to deal with. I had ordered a small keg off of Hoyne, and they were totally on top of it with ensuring it was cool, and providing a large bucket for ice, and the tap. Unfortunately I had to cancel last minute, and a full refund was promptly issued. Fantastic customer service from these folk, and the best tasting beer.

I introduced my partner to “Dark Matter” tonight believing he would really enjoy it. I am not a beer connoisseur and I don’t like stout but Hoyle Brewing’s Dark Matter is an amazing beer! My partner says he has now found his new favourite and will look for it whenever we are out or for just a nice thirst quencher at home. Way to go guys, although I’ve known of your amazing “Dark Matter” for a few years now I was so happy to introduce my guy to it. Then for his reaction to be so enormously positive I knew I needed to give a shout out to you. Well done, can’t wait to go to Victoria to visit the brewery in person.

These people are SO good at what they do, they make it a pleasure to do business with them. Professional, helpful, knowledgeable and patient. As newbies to the craft beer world, we love it whenever we get to visit them on Bridge St. Thank you for being so awesome!

Nice little space to pick up a growler fill or some cans. They do tastings and flights as well. Very approachable as the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend stopping in to discover your new favorite!

Enjoyed a flight of taster beers. The Cozy Boi cream ale and the Hefeweizen were delicious. The Black IPA was different! Recommended. Disappointed that the Cozy Boi didnt come in cans for takeaway.

I recently visited this brewery and was impressed by its spacious layout, perfect for hosting large parties. The rotating taps offer a variety of tasty beers, and the staff creates a welcoming atmosphere. The 12oz and 18oz beers are reasonably priced, making it a great value. The addition of games and pinball adds a fun element, while the good music and events enhance the overall experience. The brewery is clean, well-constructed, and features a deli case with delicious sandwiches from The Drake Eatery, providing a satisfying culinary complement to the brews. The owners of this brewery are not only friendly but also contribute to the warm atmosphere. With occasional live music, the venue becomes even more vibrant, offering a well-rounded experience for patrons. From friendly owners to live entertainment, it's evident that this brewery goes the extra mile to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all.

This place is quite underrated/undiscovered gem, imo. Their beer is absolutely fantastic, service and atmosphere has always been top-notch and they also have a nice 'sidewalk-adjacent' patio. With all the different choices a beer drinker has in Victoria to sample tasty brews, this place really should be very close to the top of your list to check out. We definitely will come back here again. Highly recommend to anyone.

Good! Nice place, atmosphere inside is lovely, you can see the the brew kegs and bins and see the inner workings. Lots of unique beer at fair prices. The owner even gave us a gift certificate to try out more brew! The snacks are very good, especially liked the focaccia pizza! Some fun games to play while enjoying some brew and eats. Recommend.

Had the Tropical Sour and it was delicious. Perfect blend of flavours without the “sour” flavour overpowering everything else. I really liked being able to see the brewing equipment. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Absolutely wonderful. This is one of the better spots in Victoria to drop in to for a tasty brew. Although the prices are slightly higher than some, the flavours will not disappoint. They are deep and full body. I guess that’s the power of a nano brewery. This is a must visit for anyone that loves beer or just appreciates a nice venue to rest and relax in.

The establishment has a lovely view & charm. Hadn’t been in quite a few years and decided last minute to pop in for dinner with friends. I was SO disappointed with the food - genuinely shocked at the quality and selection of the menu. I was actually so annoyed I had to pay for the food lol, as a previous server I could not bother to complain but I will not be dining in again. Felt like the most basic frozen pub food I’ve ever had. For the price I would check out any other local pub near by. So strange as their food used to be authentic flavourful and unique. On the positive the service was decent and they were accommodating on a busy weekend night.

Nice location, friendly staff, decent beer, but food was disappointing. The gluten-free mussels was just the regular mussels without the bread (no GF bread or alternative carb was offered). The cod and fries featured an embarrassingly small fillet of fish (it could have been on the kids menu) and it was poorly cooked (soggy batter). This is a shame because we've been here a number of times and have generally found it to be pretty good. It feels like they are trying to keep prices stable while cutting portion sizes.

My dish was tasty (the mac and cheese) but my son's was pretty bad and I mean watery bad. He ordered the "summer" fettuccine and it was full of oil and water at the bottom with over cooked soggy veggies. So what ever you do avoid that dish. The service to be seated took exceptionally long. I mean needlessly long because it wasn't that busy. But once we were seated our server was excellent, friendly, and helped to improve our overall experience. He was a rockstar!. I won't likely return unless its take out and even then thats a stretch. Overall just an average restaurant with average to bad food. Parking is free but limited. Outdoor patio is narrow but faces the water. Not ideal for those with accessibility issues. Restaurant inside is very dated. Oh and they offer a limited selection of their sodas as a flight which is neat, but lacks in the variety of flavours offered. Example: they offer 5 and you get to pick 4 which is strange since they offer almost 10 or so soda varieties in their on-site store.

Third time here in about a year and every time the food and wine and beer are excellent, the service is super-friendly and efficient, and the views are gorgeous. They always make sure we can have our favourite wheel-chair accessible table with lots of light and windows overlooking the ocean. Love it 😍

We have been to Spinnakers several times but this time we went in the morning to try their specialty coffee, tea, and baked goodies. Their scones and muffins are okay and their coffee and tea are average. However, the location of the establishment is great as it is overlooking the inner harbor and their staff are friendly and accommodating.

Terrible service, flatbreads & drinks were just okay, overall our least favorite meal in Victoria (by far). Wish we would have gone somewhere else for pizza. Ordered our food from a very nice server but she never came back to our table once. Someone else dropped our food and we had to flag down another server to order more drinks. Original server had 3 other tables in our section, continued to help them, but completely avoided us for whatever reason. (Outside upper deck evening of 8/26).

Great pub! Good place for a beer and bite to eat. Been back a few times now only downside is the service! Customer service from hostess’s is EXTREMELY lacking. One girl in particular, young blonde, is borderline rude. While waiting for a table she walked past multiple times with no hello or even a smile. She stood behind the hostess station without even so much as a “someone will be right with you”. That being said, our server today was awesome! He was extremely personable and friendly and she was the only downside once again.

I have no idea what's going on in their building, but the amount of noise including fans blowing at different volumes makes it impossible to sleep. It's so loud that I can hear it through my earplugs AND tonight it's started rattling. It clearly needs maintenance. It's actually as loud as an airport with active aircraft almost 24/7. And while one might say "close your windows," we don't have AC and the fans just don't cut it in 20+ degree heat. Here's to another sleepless night... Edit: note location, unit, and sound. I walked around the whole block today and you can’t hear it from lighthouse’s front door because the fan is way in the back as close as you can get to two multi-unit apartment buildings that have been here for years. Their brewery backs onto residential buildings, so there’s no way they’re in the “middle” of the industrial district. I found out today that they’ve been noticed about the noise before and refuse to acknowledge it.

It's sunny Saturday so perfect for a bike ride along the E&N Trail to Lighthouse Brewery... right after popping dinner in the oven to cook for 90mins. We savoured a tasting flight on their gorgeous sunny patio distanced from others who were doing the same. There's racks for 18 bikes, so lots of room if you're on a group bike ride! After chatting with the manager, we bought a mixed four pack to take home and enjoy later. Thanks for your hospitality and and enjoyable reprive while dinner was in the oven.

100% local beer, something reminiscent of the Czech. No paphos, only quality product. Recommend to try set 🍺🍺🍺🍺

This is a terrific small brewery. I enjoyed the outside sitting area and the beer selection was great. The prices were terrific too. We hadn’t heard of Lighthouse Brewery before our trip to Victoria but now we are a big fan.

Incredibly friendly + knowledgeable staff and a coffee lager that is truly one of the best I’ve ever had! And if you get hungry, they also have a great selection of small bites (vegan friendly!) to pair. With a beautiful and relaxing patio, Lighthouse is a lovely space to spend a summer afternoon 🍻🌺

Tried a pilot mango wheat here, and it was delicious and refreshing, and very smooth with a strong mango flavor. Definitely needs to become part of the permanent summer lineup. I have had other mango wheat beers from different breweries and this was by far the best one. Clearly the brewer knew what they were doing with this one. The rest of the beer is very good too!

Western Canada's mecca for sour beers! My taster flight plus one of five crystal clear sour beers was great. Not being a fan of sours, my partner opted for "normal" beers which she loved. Her flight had another bonus for me, a delicious tart grisette farmhouse-style ale. A few tables amongst the massive foeders make for an adequate tasting area which brings the overall rating down one star for me, but the beers are all five star brews.

Essential visiting if you're a fan of sours. A little off the beaten track if you're walking from downtown, but well worth it for the quality of the beer. The hibiscus and cinnamon gose was divine. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Also a can fridge for takeout.

Food truck food was tasty. Lots of beer selections - something for everyone - sours, stout, IPA, lots fruity beers, lager! Open concept brewery and eating area. Looking forward to next time when we can try the blackberry beer and the barrel aged Pinot beer.

Absolute must visit if you enjoy sour beers. Some incredibly creative/unique flavours along with a number of more approachable options. Great relaxed atmosphere and the food truck outside was fantastic as well.

This out-of-the-way little gym beside a pizza place. By the way. But never mind the pizza we’re talking about beer here. If sours are your game. This place is your game. I mean, who doesn’t like a good sour every once in a while. Once in a while being the key thing here. But they have lots of other beer to choose from.staff is wonderfully accommodating. Place is clean. Lots of parking. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere. But I’m not from Victoria so what the hell would I know. Love the place. This place has a wall full of awards for a reason. Great variety of beers, with flight options to try four at a time. Most of the flavours on the menu are fruit/sours, like blueberry, raspberry, pineapple or melon. Great atmosphere with indoor (upstairs or main level) as well as outdoor seating options. Friendly and helpful staff to guide you on your tasting journey. This is also part of the Victoria Ale Trail for those checking out the different breweries on the Island. Excellent place to take your dog and sit outside as well.

A bit of a dated set of pictures from early visits to Ile Sauvage, but basically the same layout, different lineup. Ile Sauvage specializes in sour beers (usually unfermented beers) with a lot of fruit content. The owners and pourers are always willing to give an explanation of the process. A neat place, especially on a warm summer day when You can take advantage of the tiny patio (sometimes with a food truck nearby). We went as a group and enjoyed a good variety of flavors from coffee to yuzu, to blue or red berries. This is a usual stop in for us when we are wandering by. I like to do a double flight, when possible) and try everything on tap.

Out of the water. Now Brass Monkey with new items. We ordered the Double Double burger, the Lamb burger, and the Truffle Shuffle (mushroom burger). Very flavourful. Prices are very reasonable. We were squeezing the burger juice on to our fries. OH MY!

We are fairly frequent visitors during the summer months. A few years back we were able to tour the new distillery room being setup and talk with the owners/operators about their plans for distilled spirits, and of course we took the opportunity to try out some of the current brews. Used to have great potato skins, and there is always at least one funky beer on tap that needs to be checked out. Super friendly and attentive staff and a nice patio area.

Both times that I have been here the food and service has been excellent. The fish and chips is delicious. The halibut had a nicely flavoured coating that isn’t too thick or overpowering like one sometimes finds at many places that have fish and chips on the menu.

I've come here twice, and both times have not disappointed. They always have a new seasonal drink to try, that's only shown when you visit in person, and they host the Cinco de Mayo celebration menu. The food was quite tasty and filling. The ciders here are very rich, and happy hour is all days on weekends which is great! I recommend visiting Moon Under Water brewpub!

Moon makes the most amazing whiskies. We had the chance to taste some of the single malt whiskey and the 3-sheets whiskey stood out. Definitely highly recommend Moon distillery. The hosts were super friendly!

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I did not realize they had rebranded before I showed up, my friends & I went specifically for shaft flights today. The menu is completely different & they no longer have shaft flights. When we told the waiter we were looking at other places to go instead (as we really wanted their old shaft flights & we’re bummed they no longer do them) he made a snarky comment & said “do you want the wifi password for that?” which is completely unprofessional & uncalled for. Super unhappy with the experience & will not be returning.

Nachos were good. Yes one pound is enough! No A/C in the bldg. which is tough when there is a heat wave. Overall good place.

We are staying in the hotel attached so thought we'd check it out. Fish and chips lunch special was really good, I really enjoyed the seasoning on the fries, We returned later for the Tuesday nacho special, it may look a little odd as I'm a weirdo and don't like anything but cheese on my nachos. Is a little pricey for some of the cocktails and food at regular prices, but seems on par with the area. I would recommend it.

Service was speedy and the food was excellent. Me and my friends came during a rush and our server was so busy but that didn’t change our experience. Thank you Rachel for all the recommendations, we will be checking out those vintage stores and we will definitely come to swans again before we leave Victoria.

I had a fantastic experience here. Swans Pub accommodated a large family event for us and let us stay for several hours without shooing us away to make room for the next reservation. I really appreciate that. Happy hour drinks were great. Service was fantastic. My cousins had food and they said it was delicious. Looked tasty to me! Specifically Rachel (not me) took care of us on one of the saddest days of our lives. Thank you for a wonderful experience during a hard time for my family. ❤️

This place was amazing!!! We picked the right time to stop in for lunch as it wasn’t very busy, got seated right away and prompt service. The waitress was very nice and provided great service. The food was fantastic! We got the jalapeño corn dogs to start. They were great and served with a nice, sinus clearing mustard (big fan). My husband got the swan smash burger which he loved, and I got the falafel wrap. My wrap was so dang good… I could eat it every day. Fries were served with both and were very good as well. Highly recommend this restaurant. If we ever make it back to visit Victoria, we will be stopping in.

Let me start off by saying, love the food here, portion sizes are generous and the it's always fresh and good quality. I have been going here for almost 4 years now. Last night, went with my friends and everything was great. We had our dinner, had a great time but the staff was in a huge rush to give us our bill. As soon as she picked up our plates, one of us wasn't even done eating, she asked if she could bring us the bill. We said not at the moment. Not even a minute later, another server and I informed her that we will be ready for it in a bit. Again, 1 minute later, we were asked if we needed the bill. It was 10:30, the restaurant was not busy. I guess the servers shift might be getting over but it's crazy, to be almost Forced to get out of a restaurant you just have your money to.

We hosted a meet and greet at Swans Pub for our wedding guests and we had a phenomenal experience. Thalia served us and was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect and the booking was very easy. Would highly recommend Swans for a large group booking.

Craft is a nice place! The first thing you will appreciate is the table, it is well built and sturdy. You can easily fit multiple people at the outdoor seating area without worrying the weight will be too much. They are finished well so that the colour is pleasing to the eye. The staff takes the time to carefully wrap the cutlery in the napkins. So that it stays clean and tidy. The fork has well spaced prongs so that you can easily twirl the pasta on the fork. The knife had a good weight to it which makes you feel confidant while cutting your meal. The plates also had a nice crisp colour that enhances the experience. Over all it is a good place.

We had to wait 15 minutes although the majority of tables were clean and ready. The place was by no means busy. We went to the bar for drinks which were original and super good. However, they were minuscule yet expensive and gone in just a few sips…. The small glasses were filled to the rim with ice cubes, leaving little room for the good stuff. We had to settle our bill at the bar before moving to our table. The bistro style food was delicious and served extremely fast. I had the tuna sandwich (sashimi tuna) and my daughter the mac and cheese. The service seems to be provided by inexperienced staff. Friendly but clumsy and not professional. The staff is plentiful and again the place was not busy. A key detail that was significant is the overflowing garbage containers in the bathrooms. We were here during Happy Hour but you must choose from a specific unattractive menu. Didn’t see the point. Overall, we ate well but didn’t feel good about the service despite the relatively high prices of food and drinks.

Loved the vibe! I was lucky to catch happy hour and tried a bunch of tasty appetizers, small portions but packed with flavor. Cocktails were great too! The patio was the highlight: spacious, cozy with heaters, a great view, and even some fun games to enjoy. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

Super enjoyable afternoon lunch outdoors. The food and drinks were very good, service was great, nice place. Although, the bees REALLY liked my Cali Bowl with salmon, they would just not want to move away from my food.

From the moment I walked in I loved this place. The hostess was welcoming, the atmosphere cozy, and the food and drink excellent. I had the crispy rice salmon sushi dish and a raspberry lime brew. Hardly had time to look at the salmon dish before I had eaten it all 😋 Can’t wait to come back again!

Craft in Victoria is one of our go-to spots — we come here every time! It’s such an enjoyable and friendly place, perfect for meeting up with friends. They have their own beers, which are always worth trying, and the food is consistently very good. Prices are reasonable, and if you visit during happy hour and order from the happy hour menu, you can enjoy the same great food and drinks for less. The variety is impressive, with plenty of options for both food and beverages. One of the highlights is the perfect patio right by the ocean, which makes the whole experience even better.

Update: ** I've been a regular at Swift Brewery for months now, and it never disappoints. A huge shoutout to Matt, the bartender, who truly makes the experience exceptional. Matt is a great server—always attentive, providing fantastic vibes, and engaging in solid conversations. His welcoming nature and excellent service make Swift Brewery a perfect spot for me to study, relax with a few beers, and chill in my favorite chair. If you're looking for a place with great atmosphere and outstanding service, Swift Brewery, with Matt behind the bar, is the place to be.*** This retro-themed brewery is a nostalgic haven for 70/80s kids. With vintage gaming systems like Atari, classic movie video cassettes, and comfy couches reminiscent of your mom's basement, it exudes a cozy vibe. The diverse beer selection is exceptional, and the retro furniture adds to the ambiance. Transporting you back in time, the music from the 70/80s completes the experience, making it a must-visit for those seeking a trip down memory lane.

In town for the day and found this small spot after Totally impressed with the atmosphere, decor, and friendly staff!!! Coleman ( behind the bar) was an awesome person to speak with while we were here friendly and attentive! Thanks again.

The retro tasting room was so cool! We had a good time checking everything out. We got one of their non-alcoholic options (Phillip's Iota Lager) and a small size of the Disco Juice and the Hawaii 5-0. The pineapple in the Hawaii 5-0 was very flavourful!

Such a cool spot for a beer! 70s living room vibes. There is both indoor and outdoor seating (dog friendly outside). They have some small snacks but are connected to Craft Beer Market where you can order larger dishes if you are hungrier. Both the raspberry beret wheat ale and Hawaii 5-0 pineapple wheat ale were great

This place is a pillar to the community. They have 29 beers on tap. Something for everyone. Their food is great and seems to get better every year. The seating and decor have a genuine Victoria feel. One can enjoy a beer at the bar, or sit at a table, or even get comfy on the couch. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and I never tire of it. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I needed a snack and a place to rest. I was greeted by friendly staff and found my seat. I was able to jot down a few thoughts when food arrived. I had the Kafka ‘Esque. A nice snack that came with pickle spears. A refreshing peach Ice tea. I grabbed a jumbo dill pickle to go. It was the best decision.

Y'know, I don't consider myself someone who would order bread and butter but I sure did enjoy their sourdough with Ceasar dressing butter (I know, and it's even better than it sounds). We also got the pretzel with a date and apple cider salami that was also fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beer selection (the main event, am I right?) was choice. My wife and I each got a flight to share and found many that we really enjoyed. My top pick was the raspberry IPA.

Stopped in for the first time while on one night vacation from Nanaimo. We took a chance while walking by and it paid off. The kimchi grilled cheese was excellent, the bread was so good. We also had the vegetarian squash tacos and they were yum. We had a side of peppers, I have never seen a simple but delicious dish like this. There is also huge selection of local beers. But the food was the highlight for me, the food is all actually made and not pulled out of a freezer and deep fried. Real food is hard to find, this is real food. This is a must stop in Victoria for amazing food and delicious drinks. We will be back. We ate our food too fast to take pictures of the food.

Fantastic pub, plenty of local BC taps, staff that can advise on beer selection, great patio overlooking market square. I had a Banh Mi sandwich which was a really good meal, very fresh ingredients and a different take on banh mi than I’m used to back east. Friendly staff and patrons, good vibes, great food, great beer selection (however there is no table service, you order at the bar)

A chill eatery with a warm ambience. Solid chill staff. Recommend baba ganoush 👌🏻 Tips: my tuna tacos were super delicious and flavourful, fresh ingredients ...but there was only three small dices pieces of tuna. Definitely not enough, even for a small person. Recommend adding some 'meat' to it. Otherwise, this spot should be a 5-star.

Fab eatery and bar in the market square independents quarter of Victoria with fab local sourced produce, diverse choice of drinks, and lovely location. Husband strongly recommends the local ales 😜 Staff attentive without being too pushy. And right next door to one of the best vintage shops in Victoria- purchases were made after as well as before lunch 🤣

Nice restaurant with a lot of spaces indoor and also nice patio. There are customer parking spots so I never had difficulty parking downtown. Service is great, reasonable waiting time for the foods to come but a bit slow at the end after we finished and wanted to leave. Foods have nice decorating and tasted quite good for pub foods.

Great setting and brick building. Right on the harbor. Inside beautiful. Local brew excellent. Had the HELLES pale bavarian-style lager and was enjoyable. Had curry tomato soup and did not enjoy to my liking nor the fried chicken. Should have read menu better. Service was good to ok. Ambiance is chic. I’d return for the beer, ambience setting but different food choices.

Great ambiance, views and service. The menu lacks a few of my quintessential pub orders but the stuff they have isn’t too bad. They’ve generous portions but are tad bit expensive. Seating arrangement is nice and spacious. I had the veggie burger which was slightly dry but the flavour was great. Decent sized side of fries. The Chicken wings only come in one flavour and it wasn’t bad. Tacos are a surprise package. They are marked as a starter but are meal sized when combined with a side of fries.

We had a really nice outdoor table. Tried the canoe burger, poke bowl and kids chicken tenders. The fries are delicious! IPA was traditional style and enjoyable. House red wine was good also. Service was personable and efficient. We will return!

Awesome patio and great service! Great beer brewed in-house. Great place to start your night as it is downtown with lots to do and see near by! You even get a view of the new bridge from the patio.

Very clean and lovely space. They do have a 2h limit per table. The fish and chips were decent however the humus appetizer wasn't memorable. The beer flight was very good. Staff was very kind.

Since moving to the Victoria area 3 years ago, Canoe has become my absolute favourite place to go. I’ve been to 3/4 of the restaurants, pubs, and craft breweries in the greater Victoria area, and this place comes on top for me. Any family members, or friends who come visit, I ALWAYS take them here and they are never let down by the hype I bring up about it before. The building couldn’t be any cooler or more beautiful, old brick with lots of history, the staff have gone above and beyond and I don’t say that lightly. They have fantastic beer that they brew on location (I’m a beer nut), and the food is amazing and constantly fantastic. You can literally order anything in the menu and have a 99% chance it’s going to be amazing. A must if you like historical architecture, delicious beer, and tasty inspiring food.

Feeling like we are in 1900s because they still maintain original interior. Memorable moment with my family to celebrate the birthday for my wife. Better not to serve a food at once because table is compact. Food, wine and staffs are wonderful. Strongly recommend to book in advance.

Be aware that if a wine is N/A on the Happy Hour menu there is no substitution. We had a great server, Jill, and she helped us at our outside table with food choices. Later when it started to rain we got to be at the bar inside. Good food portions. The nachos looked great at another table;) Interior decor excellent. Beautiful space but very dark. Good service. Over priced, underwhelming food. But worse, downright bad marketing. The lettuce wrap dish described as shrimp and veg on crunchy noodles. Really 7 tiny shrimp tiny. Wilted straps of green pepper, 1/10th of a very small pepper, 3 shreds of cartots and 8 bits of green onions, and some over oozed ramen noodles (the super cheap kind) swimming in a sweet sauce. Overall disgusting and scammy. Nothing fresh and clean about the food.

This was the best cheeseburger in Victoria. We stumbled into this place late afternoon. It wasn't busy but nothing really is during the week anymore. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was epic. I'm definitely coming back during the night....I can only imagine what a fun time it would be.....top Marks.

Had the fish and chips here and they were excellent. The batter was light and crispy, and the portions were generous. I ordered the two-piece but probably could have managed with just one—definitely not leaving hungry. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. Great spot, highly recommend.

The place inside is incredible, and if you're there in the summer, you can enjoy the patio. They're dog-friendly. The service of the waiters and staff is very good and they are friendly.

Bard & Banker is a great place to be with your family and friends! Beautiful live music started at 21:00 on Saturday night and enjoyed my favorite beer Guinness! The fish and chips I have ordered was very delicious and reasonable priced! Loved the rich wooden interior and made me think of the Irish pubs in Dublin , Ireland ! Definitely worth a visit and would love to come back soon .

The atmosphere here is really nice — I loved the stylish and cozy interior. It’s a great place to hang out if you’re just looking for a drink. The beer was decent, and the service was okay, though it could definitely be better. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and in the evening we were actually turned away because the place was fully packed. As for the food, it was just average. I’d especially avoid the chowder — it was nothing like the real thing. Overall, it’s a decent spot, but expect crowds and don’t come hungry.

I stopped into the Irish Times Public House in Victoria and had such a lovely experience. I tried the mango peach Bellini, which was sweet, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, and ordered the happy hour mini mac & cheese, which was baked in a rich three-cheese blend and topped with truffle breadcrumbs. Comfort food elevated! What really made the visit stand out, though, was the bartender, Cody. He was incredibly welcoming and genuinely friendly, one of those people who makes you feel right at home. Service was attentive and warm, 100% on point from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the historic pub vibe added a lot of charm. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Victoria!

The restaurant was clean and busy, and we were seated promptly. Greeting staff were very polite and welcoming. The place definitely had a pub vibe and the patrons seemed to be having a good night. Food was plentiful, tasty, and came very quick. We had the fish and chips, with a tremendously large Nacho platter and some Irish stew. The food was great and would come back to eat again. The downside was our server, who seemed more interested in attending and selling merchandise to a table across from us. We didn't get much attention and had to ask several times for refills. Eventually, we asked some of the servers who brought our food for things we needed. First time in a while where I tipped very minimally due to disappointment.

Fantastic friendly welcoming service from all the staff we met. The drinks (Guinness and Kilkenny of course) were poured expertly. The pork bites are delicious, as is the rest of the food. Plus you gotta make a custom printed Guinness!

Travelers here. This was the perfect place for our lunch in beautiful downtown Victoria. Table on the sidewalk, beautiful day, fantastic server Caitlin, beers were enjoyed and burgers tasty. We loved it.

I remember visiting this place years back. Their shepherd's pie was amazing. Since then, every time when I visited, I was less satisfied each time. Fish and chips were okay... The coleslaw was the worst. Their beer selections are always good. The atmosphere is also great and the staff has always been friendly. Unfortunately, food has turned from great to okay.

A great English/Irish pub with attentive service, a wide selection of beer, and great food. The staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to ensure you're never without a drink. The poutine is of perfect consistency and a favorite of mine. Additionally, if there during slow times, there is free wifi, so it's easy to get work done as well. Overall, among my favorite places in Victoria

Really cool spot in the heart of Victoria. Prices are a bit high but the location is likely the cause. The chicken tenders, the chicken pot pie and the poutine fries were all amazing! The beer delicious as well! The reason I only gave 4 is because my burger was awful - way over cooked (well past well done) and it was SO SALTY. Loved most of what we had, we would return. Great service, cool vibe, awesome beer selection.

This place has been around for a long time. The wood floors and old bar add to the ambiance and character to the charm of the place. Great beer selection. Fish and chips were very good. The beet salad was perfect with the addition of goat cheese and candied walnuts. Definite stop for good food and drink.

A spontaneous night out turned into a classic “man talk” session at The Beagle Pub 🍻 Located in Victoria, this cozy local pub hits all the right spots — lively vibes, solid selection of craft beer, and crispy wings and dry ribs that totally hit the mark. We weren’t looking for anything fancy — just cold beer and good talk, and The Beagle delivered! Perfect place to unwind with your mates. Staff were friendly and chill, making the whole experience smooth and relaxed. Must-try: wings (sticky & juicy), dry ribs (crispy with just the right amount of seasoning). We’ll definitely be back for another round.

Touring Victoria and happened to be hungry and spotted this pub. What a GREAT find! Added to my favorites list immediately!! For was great, our party ordered fish and chips, candied pecan & apple salad (which I substituted instead of fries), the bacon jam and Brie burger and poutine. It was all delicious! An absolute gem! Found this as we looked out the window of our tour bus. Had the prawn bowl and poutine. It was $8 martini madness. All 3 were very well made. Delightful patio with heaters, blankets, and great service. Will definitely be returning if ever in Victoria again.

I came in on Sunday and had such a great experience. I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. Madison made the visit even better with her amazing service. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The whole atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend asking for Madison when you go.

Ordered the cashew chicken and falafel wrap. The portions were large in the food presentation was very nice however the flavor was off-putting. Prices were very reasonable. Would not recommend however may give them a second chance on our next visit.

We stopped in at the Bent Mast for a quick dinner and had a great experience. The server was friendly and service was quick. The food was good and extremely reasonably priced. We got the fish and chips, veggie burger, and chicken Alfredo - all of which were great. We absolutely loved the atmosphere to sit outside and watch the horse drawn carriages go by in the sunshine! Would definitely stop back again.

Not sure why this place has less than 5 stars because it’s amazing! We came here with a large group including picky children. We walked from the cruise ship here and we were not disappointed. No one is leaving here hungry. The service was phenomenal. Food was delicious. And the atmosphere was top notch. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

I've been to the bent mast a few times and really enjoyed it! It's nicest there when the weather is good and you can sit out on the patio which is quite big and so lovely. I saw someone who had their dog with them at their table outside and I think it's so great that you can do that!! The other people on the patio and the servers all seemed to love the dog and it led to a lot of us chatting with the dog's human and petting the dog. Our server had long blonde hair and these cute heart shaped sunglasses - she was super friendly and helped make it a really nice experience. I could tell it was busy on the patio but she was always very attentive! Whenever she had the time she would chat with us for a quick moment and was super welcoming :) I'll definitely go back when I visit Victoria again!

We [our group] was served by an extremely rude and pretentious young woman. She had no concern or customer service skills. It was not a great experience. Sadly, we hope others don't have to endure her condescending attitude and lack of respect. The food was very average, although the setting was pleasant enough. Terrible customer service. Will not visit again. We hope the owner takes note.

I visited The Bent Mast with a few friends on Sunday around 12 PM. We ordered the calamari, cauliflower quesadilla, and a chicken burger — and everything was absolutely mouth-watering! The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and the presentation was on point. We were seated inside the restaurant, which was clean and cozy. However, it was very quiet — no background music or vibe, which made the atmosphere feel a bit too silent. That’s the only small thing I’d change.

We went as a family group for a Sunday brunch. We are inside, although they do have a nice outside patio. Place was comfortable enough, but too noisy for comfortable conversation. Where things really went off the rails was the service and the food. Two orders were wrong, and coffee was never refilled. Food was poor quality and not hit. This place is really close for us, but the experience was so disappointing I doubt we'll return.

Probably the biggest draft beer selection in town, plus any kind of whiskey you can think of, mixologist is top notch. Not a lot on the food menu but enough to get you by for sure. Was in on a Sunday afternoon and wasn't terribly busy. Food was delicious. Cheeseburger has a charbroiled taste to it.

They seem generally quite inattentive and kind of oblivious to customers, almost like you're kind of a bother to them. On a positive note, the appetizer's have always been decent. Personally, I would recommend heading next door to the Garrick's Head Pub, instead. Really good service, great beer selection and a fun, atmosphere at the Garrick's Head.

Didn't have any food. Just a couple of drinks on a quick stop over on a cruise. This is the kind of casual, comfortable bar that I love. Historical, great atmosphere where you can talk to the people you are with without having to scream at them. Our waitress was a delight, service was as quick as it could be on a busy Friday night. I adored the place and absolutely recommend it if you are looking for a comfortable "local" while in Victoria. 5*.

We stopped for a drink rather late after dinner elsewhere. This is a traditional and very beautiful bar like in NYC or Chicago. If there is a something you want they will have it. And the service was excellent.

This is the perfect brewery for a lot of occasions. First of all the service was incredible! Our server was so friendly and obviously enjoyed her job. The beer and cocktail menu had lots of choices and everything that came out was top quality! We also tried some dumplings and bao buns which were delicious. They had a lot of seating including a really nice patio. The atmosphere was casual and fun. We will be back!

Love the Fat Tug. The other beers I had were pretty damn tasty too. My server was friendly and kept on top of things. The fire I ordered was great. It's recommend the Thai Green Curry with the chicken.

I love the beer.I love the staff.I love the environment. But what I don't love are the kids in an adult environment. I was there today and there were four kids playing on the stairs.Not paying attention to people walking around and down the stairs nearly tripping me. And then you have moms who have their strollers in the middle of the parking lot. Already having a bad day, I really didn't need the aggravation of kids running around. Please do like other breweries and pubs and not allow kids into the environment. It's a good way to lose customers

Absolutely love it here! Not only do they have some of the most delicious beers in the city, but they have one of the coolest taprooms! The atmosphere is almost always warm and friendly. The addition of Dumpling Drop to the location is a perfect 10. I would recommend everyone heading here and trying their dumplings, bao buns, and a beer flight.

It’s always tough choosing between 4 or 5 stars. Great spot, great beer and cider on tap. But my wife had a flight of wine, white, rose and red and the red was fridge cold. That’s taboo! Could even be 3 stars for that but it’s a great spot otherwise.

A small taproom with a good vibe. They offer a decent variety of beers to try. I do wish the flight included 4 or 5 samples instead of just 3, though. Keep in mind, they’re not a brewery themselves, but most of the beers are from BC, so you still get a nice range of local flavors

My partner and I were visiting Victoria (first time for me), and I have heard about the amazing beer scene on the island. This place probably had the best craft beer I had ever tried. It was so good that we had to visit twice. My (and my partner's) favourite was definitely Howl Brewing's Blackberry Grand Fir Ale. I can only hope to have it again. The service was amazing and the patio seating was super cozy.

Used to be a five star place to grab craft beer. Went again tonight and had terrible service for the second time. The two people working seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else. Cool atmosphere and good beer but not worth going for anything else.

Lovely place to stop for a drink and some snacks. We sat outside in the back garden area, which was quiet and intimate. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and out. We each had a beer flight so we could try some different ones. The snacks were excellent, especially the different mixes and the pepperoni sticks.

Cozy, inviting spot with a wide selection of local rotating craft beers, ciders, and sours, plus lovely staff and great service. Nice to see some snacks on the menu too.

Great selection of beers, great service, and great music! 4x4oz flight is a good choice before settling on a pint to order, and the staff are very helpful if you need help choosing beers (I certainly did). Comfortably chill - loud enough to feel busy but not so loud that you can’t have a conversation. I went to Whistle Buoy shortly after, but found I much preferred Phillips in terms of both beer and atmosphere.

Really comfortable brewery/distillery to stop in and grab a pint and a bite. The beer selections i had was delicious and refreshing. Although I didn't find the menu of food particularly appealing, your needs are probably different than mine, so have at it. The people working there were friendly and knew about their beers. Definitely stop in. If I find myself there again, I'll be trying the gin and whiskey.

Very fun vibe. Colorful and eclectic names for their beers. Pro tip - check out the low key hilarious timeline of the brewery under the "on air" sign. Negroni was top notch and solid lineup of lighters beers for the flight I choose. Apparently they throw epic parties/concerts off their loading dock. Definitely coming back for one of those.

I've been a fan of their beers for years, so I was really looking forward to finally visiting the brewery. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite match my expectations. There was a very limited selection of beers on tap, which was surprising given how much I enjoy their range in stores. I was also expecting a more vibrant and fun atmosphere, something that reflects the creativity and colorfulness of their branding. Instead, the space felt quite ordinary and lacked the character I associate with their beer labels.

Part of an old old railway system, this is now near the beginning of the Galloping Goose biking and walking trail that leads from downtown to Uptown when it then splits into to trails following old train track towards the western communities or north towards Sidney. This trestle is the only non vehicle oriented crossing of the gorge waterway. From the trestle you can see the little island of rock between the bridge and the canoe rental area.

I started my day with a refreshing morning walk from my hotel to Selkirk Trestle, and it was absolutely worth it. The trail leading to the trestle is well-maintained and peaceful, with scenic views of the Gorge Waterway and plenty of spots to pause and take in the natural beauty. Took full advantage of my DSLR & Phone. The trestle itself is a charming wooden bridge that offers a great vantage point for photos and quiet reflection. It’s a perfect spot for families, joggers, or anyone looking to enjoy a calm start to the day. I saw a few kayakers on the water and locals walking their dogs, which added to the friendly, laid-back vibe. There’s easy access from the Galloping Goose Trail, and parking nearby was convenient. Highly recommended for a short, scenic walk that blends nature and local charm. A hidden gem in Victoria!

Amazing pedestrian/bike wooden trestle that crosses the waterway and affords amazing views! For a non-vehicle bridge it’s actually quite wide, giving everyone plenty of space to share the path… It’s a great place to stop and take in the scenery, wildlife and water activities.

A wonderful place to take a walk at. This was part of a great Vancouver Island railway history and now serving as a bridge. It always has a very beautiful appearance so it makes a wonderful location for photography and videography. Best time to visit is during the golden hour.

This trestle crosses the Gorge waterway in Victoria BC. It is a bridge habilitated for pedestrians and bicycles. It is a great place to visit

Such an awesome place for an evening walk. Needs a few lights all ng the trestle for night though. Also can we for the love of God get some enforcement for the 1000 Lance Armstrong wannabes going 100 kph?

This bridge is very sturdy. I have crossed it hundreds of times and it has never collapsed. It does an excellent job of getting you between Gorge-Burnside and Vic West — much more convenient than swimming across the Selkirk Waterway (or walking to Bay Street or Tillicum Road to use one of those bridges). The bridge boasts great views of the inner harbour and Gorge Waterway because it is right in the middle of them.
