Peace River Wildlife Center-Education Center

Wildlife refuge
Outdoor Activities
The Peace River Wildlife Center-Education Center is a local refuge and rehabilitation facility that offers educational tours to the public. Located in Ponce de Leon Park, it overlooks the Charlotte Harbor and is surrounded by mangroves. The non-profit center specializes in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native Florida wildlife, with over 2,000 small animals and birds cared for annually. Additionally, it provides a permanent home for nearly 200 animals unable to return to their natural habitats.
This is a small facility, but is still wonderful and worth a visit. There are many different types of birds to see, as well as a few other animals. It is free, but donations are appreciated. When was the last time anything was free? 😁 Staff was available to share information and answer questions. They were all very friendly and seemed to really love their job and helping their guests learn more about their animals and mission. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to visiting again.
Terri C — Google review
Very wonderful place to go. Only $10 for a recommended admission donation and they truly take wonderful care of their animals. We saw Jaxon the opossum eat and we saw the bald eagle chirping. Wonderful place and very friendly and educated people there ready for any questions and wonders!
Sylvia P — Google review
I really loved this place when I visited for the first time. I came down to Florida from Missouri and was really interested in something wildlife based to visit that 1. Didn't cost very much (this is perfect because there is no entrance fee, they only ask they you make a donation if you can. There is suggested amounts to donate, but no one is there twisting your arm) and 2. Didn't require much hiking to see cool things. It was quite hot and sunny the day we visited so it was nice that it was in more of an urban setting. I want to start by reminding anyone that this whole place is pretty much run by volunteers! They are super awesome people, very knowledgeable, and incredibly generous to dedicate their time to the care of all of the animals. For review purposes: I will warn anyone with children or a large party that it isn't the biggest place. It is a single walkway with animals and information on both sides. It is NOT air conditioned, but partially shaded. There is a small gift shop that IS air conditioned which is a wonderful break from the heat. There are not bathrooms in the facility, but there are the park bathrooms outside. While it isn't a "premium" experience, you get what you didn't have to pay for. If you really love wildlife, rehabilitation, and general education then it is a nice little place to visit. The gift shop had quite a few things I was happy to buy lol.
Kayla M — Google review
This sanctuary has such beautiful animals, friendly staff and a great setup in general. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and gave a great presentation on Halloween. We saw lots of birds but there are a few furry friends as well! The gift shop has a ton of fun and cute items for a good price. If you’re in the area this place is the perfect place to stop.
Kore — Google review
I really enjoy coming here with my wife to check up on the critters, but I am extremely concerned about what will be done with the land after the move to the new facility. It is my understanding that a developer wishes to come in and build on Ponce de Leon Park. People need to wake up and get vocal! Nobody wants more condos!! We want our beautiful nature!
Daniel C — Google review
Great people working there pretty educational and friendly. My daughter and us were so happy about the explanations the workers provide. It's really good and you learn a lot about what they do and how good they take care of the animals.
Roxana R — Google review
Took scenic route home and glad we stopped here. Volunteers were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Maria T — Google review
The Peace River Wildlife Center Education Center is a true gem in Punta Gorda. The staff and volunteers are passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply committed to the care and rehabilitation of Florida’s native wildlife. I learned so much during my visit—not just about the animals, but also about how we can help protect their habitats. The educational displays are well done, and seeing the animals up close is both moving and inspiring. It’s a wonderful place for families, nature lovers, or anyone wanting to make a meaningful connection with local wildlife.

Military Museums
Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Military Heritage Museum, situated near Fishermens Village in Punta Gorda, Florida, offers over seventeen square feet of exhibits and activities. It provides a diverse range of ways for visitors to learn about the connections between civilians and the U.S. military branches through displays, libraries, movies, lectures, and a hands-on flight simulator. The museum features three galleries covering American history from the Revolution to modern conflicts.
Honors those who served, covered many conflicts and the people who served. Large library, multiple dioramas, models, and speakers (changes - so it may be different when you get there.) Don't miss the flight simulator or virtual reality head sets and laser shooting range. It's not real big, on 2 floors, elevator was out, stairs only. I would highly recommend going, but you'd have to go multiple times to read read everything.
William J — Google review
It's one of the best military museums i've been to. Great collection of badges, insignia, medals, and uniforms as well. Covers all eras starting from the American Revolutionary War, but also has a Spanish Conquistador section from early Florida. The staff is very helpful and friendly and they have a great gift shop. There is a large room that honors the Purple Heart and the Medal of Honor recipients. It has a few outside displays as well.
Dave R — Google review
Nice way to spend an afternoon if you like military history. Plenty to see and lots of memorabilia and historical artifacts. If you have anyone in your family like grandpa that served in the military like a Vietnam Veteran he really like this place. Takes about an hour to hour and a half to walk through and their simulations for flight and there are laser target practice ranges. All all pretty good I’d recommend this place.
Foxx T — Google review
Great attraction if you’re visiting Port Charlotte, Military Heritage Museum. Fun day to walk around. They have stimulation rooms. I believe you have to be 10 and up to go in was really cool. Recommend take the kids or your elderly family who may have served our country.
Chrissy F — Google review
They have done an amazing job recovering from Helene Wonderful displays! Enjoyed talking with the docent. Appreciated the covered parking. Hope they are able to get the elevator fixed soon.
BL W — Google review
Awesome place with lots of military history, virtual flight simulator, uniforms and lots of military memorabilia. The volunteers were amazing and funny. Nice hidden gem in Punta Gorda.
Ramon R — Google review
Awesome place, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable. You can learn a lot at this museum, it is not a very big museum but there is a lot of stuff for its size. It was great reading all the details and stories about both the history of the events illustrated and the story about the pieces of history. Overall a great place to visit.
Alex369 — Google review
I love this place, the staff and Veterans are lovely and very happy to share their experience and knowledge with the visitors. They make you so welcome and explain in detail all the great exhibits, layout and information of the many many wonderful collections of memorabilia contained in the large new building that houses the museum. You could happily spend a whole day here. The flight simulators are great fun and the virtual shooting range brings out the competitiveness in most people. Very well thought out and the vets ensure that your experience here is second to none. Respect and best wishes to you all ❤️

Ponce De Leon Park, located in Punta Gorda Isles, is a 19-acre recreational park offering various amenities such as a beach, playground, mangrove boardwalk, boat launch, and wildlife center. The park provides opportunities for outdoor activities like walking, bird watching, photography, environmental education, and wildlife observation. Visitors can enjoy sensory experiences including boat watching at the beach and exploring the mangrove boardwalks to encounter diverse wildlife.
Great spot to watch the sunset! Beachy area to hang out, and also little small areas to hunt for shells and play in the water. There are also areas specific for fishing and a boat launch. It also has a nice playground for the smaller kids and an animal rescue place. Didn't visit the animal rescue yet, but it looked interesting.
Jacqueline P — Google review
Wow! It was hard to find the beach but Google helped. Only gave it a 4 star bc the boardwalk is still closed from the damage caused by the twin hurricanes that hurt Punta Gorda. Otherwise great place with beach, boat ramp, shelling, and fishing.
Jody E — Google review
My recent visit to Ponce De Leon Park was a truly enjoyable experience, earning a solid 5-star rating. This park offers a wonderful combination of natural beauty and various recreational activities, making it a great destination for different interests. One of the standout features is the wildlife conservation preserve located within the park. It's inspiring to see the dedication to preservation, especially considering the challenges they've faced. Recent hurricanes caused significant damage, with a devastating 9-foot storm surge that decimated their main buildings. Currently operating out of trailers for their office and gift shop, the staff, including a very knowledgeable individual named Barb, are doing commendable work. I was particularly captivated by Bella, a beautiful owl residing at the preserve. While their current facilities primarily house aviary animals, they have plans to include more land mammals as their new conservation building is developed with the help of visitor donations. It's heartwarming to know that visiting and donating directly supports these crucial conservation efforts. Beyond the conservation area, the park boasts a lovely beach with a unique blend of fine, white powder sand mixed with numerous broken seashells. It creates an interesting texture and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. For families, there's a children's park, and for those who enjoy being on the water, the park also provides opportunities for fishing and a convenient boat launch to access the Gulf. Public restrooms are also available within the park. Ponce De Leon Park is a testament to nature's beauty and human resilience. Despite recent challenges, it continues to offer a relaxing and engaging experience for all. Highly recommended!

This secluded pocket park is a perfect spot for a beach gathering, sun bathing, or shore fishing. The well kept beach has beautiful white sand. There is a picnic area, a boat launch, and restrooms. There is ample parking. The Peace River Wildlife Sanctuary is near by.

This is a very nice little park. It has a beach (there is a seawall separating it from the water), a pavilion, a playground for kids, fishing pier and a boat launch. It also has a small animal/bird park within. There is a trail that is closed.
Richard C — Google review
It's a clean park with a fishing pier and a boat ramp. There is a playground for kinds that seems like it's in good condition. It has a bird aviary which closes at 4pm every day. They have restrooms, picnic areas, and historical plaques. It's seems like a great place to watch the sunset over the bay.
Brooke P — Google review
Nice little relaxing park with a small sand area. People were fishing off the small pier, and playing in the sand. It’s a good place to take young kids.
J C — Google review
*The wetlands boardwalk is currently closed due to the hurricane* A park and much more! They have a playground, boat ramp, fishing pier, wetlands trail, beach, and more! They are also currently connected to a animal rehabilitation center. There's some awesome critters and a very cool gift shop there.

Harborwalk

Sights & Landmarks
Harborwalk is a charming 2.5-mile paved trail that runs along the waterfront of Punta Gorda, offering picturesque views of the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor. The pathway connects Fishermens Village to Bayfront Health and passes through various waterside parks, restaurants, museums, monuments, and hotels. Along the way, visitors can enjoy glimpses of nature with mangrove forests and sweeping vistas of Charlotte Harbor.
Great place for a walk, ride bicycle or walk your dog. You can bring your children to have fun and a picnic. Or if you play tennis or pickleball this park has a awesome view and summer breeze. The area is clean and safe, there is a lot of history with the historic houses and fishermen's warf nearby.
JD C — Google review
The Harborwalk itself is nice. There's plenty of places to wander off to. There is a decent amount of seating, but not a whole lot of shade near seating. I'd like to see better areas to sit with the dogs where they aren't exposed to the full sun. Now, to be honest, the only issues I ever have here are when retirees feel the need to come up and grab my dogs without permission because "Why bring them in public if you don't want them to get attention?", which has proven to be a daily occurrence. It's a great place to meet people, but if you are thinking about coming here to socialize your furry friends, it can be hit or miss.
Hunter G — Google review
Plenty of biking and walking paths. Great bay views. A little loud by the bridge though.
Nick B — Google review
Its the place to be for a peaceful stroll at sunset. Or a breezy bike ride for a more fast paced venture. If you are visiting Punta Gorda it is a must see during your stay. There are also some good restaurants along this stretch if you get hungry or thirsty.
Matt S — Google review
Nice boardwalk with access to loads of things to do
Charles B — Google review
It was so hot, we decided not to walk it. Maybe next time.
Ana T — Google review
What a nice place to take a walk after the Thanksgiving meal. Wonderful view of the water with lots of wildlife to see. I especially like the birds. such a nice breeze with the smell of salt in the air. So glad that I only visit this city or I'd probably get used to it. It's not far from Fisherman's village if you need a little something sweet after your walk. I would drive there though. This whole area is good for getting your 10,000 steps in per day.
Tony L — Google review
One of the charming features of Punta Gorda. Stretching from Lashley Park to Fisherman's Village, this walk makes for a great stroll. Most of the trail has been re-done within the last couple of years to enhance the overall look and functionality. New seawall, New washrooms, New gazebos, and New paving along the Gilchrist park portion, has really made the walk great. You can borrow a bicycle at one end and also ride the trail. There are 2 Tiki bars along the stretch if you want to stop for a drink. An Ice cream shop, if you are hot. Many sites to see. A great place for a walk!

Laishley Park, located on Charlotte Harbor in downtown Punta Gorda, is a popular destination known as the special event capital of Charlotte County. The park features a fishing pier, marina, memorial garden, harbor walk, and a seafood restaurant. It was originally named Municipal Mobile Home Park but was renamed after Phil Laishley, a former city councilman and mayor who played a significant role in its development.
Nice park on Charolette Harbor. Went there for the Punta Gorda Seafood and Music Festival. Lots of food, booths selling products and people. The music was pretty good on Saturday (the first 3 bands). Parking was what you would expect, mot easy to find a place up close. The prices didn’t seem too bad to me. We went 1/18/25 and will go back in 2025

Went to Copperfish Bookstore to catch Joe Pans Florida Palms book to sit, read and eat at the Crab House nearby. Park Under construction but still great.
Ava M — Google review
Lovely area that provides beautiful views, and shelter from the rain under the pavilion. Safe, clean, ans family- friendly.
Danielle Z — Google review
Good for walking, fishing, have a picnic day or celebrate something, there is an area where you can have a party.
Ivette — Google review
I participated in a vendor event at this park last weekend. The waterfront location is nice, but the bathrooms are horrendous. It was obvious they had not been maintained in a long time. I would like to bring my daughter here but will avoid it because of the state of the restrooms.
Amanda C — Google review
Super, this place is amazing for a walk, the view is increíble, people are so nice, you can find many stores in here; clothes, tea, drinks, tours, souvenirs and more. You can tent a place and fishing with the locals!! The small Beach is good to rest, enjoy the sunset and get some cocktails. We spent the new year in this Florida paradise and it was incredible! All people are super welcome. The parking is huge and even for trucks, next time I'll go with mine 😄😅
ALITTA M — Google review
Leaving a review with photos so others don't do what we did--there is no play structure for kids! It was a nice place to walk around, but they must have removed the playground. It would be five stars if they gave it a little TLC. The location is beautiful.

Gilchrist Park is a 19-acre waterfront green space located in the heart of Punta Gorda Isles. The park hosts community events and provides sweeping views of Charlotte Harbor. Visitors can enjoy outdoor activities like walking, bird watching, photography, environmental education, and wildlife observation.
So beautiful to walk along waters edge on a level, safe sidewalk. It is refreshing and lifts my spirits to see all the nature, dolphins jumping, etc The benches are helpful to those who need a break or just want to take in the view. Hurricanes have tried to destroy this area but it remains glorious!
Darl M — Google review
We go to this part 3 to 5 times a week. Great trails, beautiful views, everyone is always so nice. Unfortunately some of the amenities were affected by the hurricanes this last season. However, it is still open, operational, and lots to do! Such a perfect end to a nice day, if you have a chance to get there. There is often drum circles, bands, individual musicians. Lots of dogs. Kids from 1 to 99 riding bikes or other various of fun transportation. Just overall a nice place to be.
Uhhh Y — Google review
Beautiful place to have a picnic , take a stroll or even practice sports. Plenty of space and parking. Lots of birds to watch and pet friendly!
Erika B — Google review
Beautiful little park to walk in. There’s still some damage from the hurricane to check out. Had a lovely walk by the water and around downtown Punta Gorda. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of parking.
Darla D — Google review
Gilchrist Park has been my home town park since 1959. It existed long before our family arrived in Punta Gorda and continues strong to this day. Once rebuilt from the recent storms, I believe the park will rank highest in the state as far as scenic beauty and use. I do hope the various musicians return to play their home spun variety of favorites.. and I know for a fact, the setting sun will never dissapoint the visitor or residents of Punta Gorda. Gilchrest Park has been the community anchoring point throughout my life time. I hope someday to add my own commemoritive brick to the Ponce Deleone tribute statue and walkway.

Very beautiful view of the harbor. Clean and maintained. Definitely dog friendly.

Stunning sunset!!!! Very peaceful. Tennis courts are in great condition. Great for dog walking. Great trail boardwalk. Overall 10/10 highly recommend! I had a picnic with my puppy under a Banyan tree by the water once. Such a well-maintained park. Fabulous sunset view with the ocean!

This park was beautiful before and after the storms. They are still in the process of rebuilding some areas, but the playground is open, and it is a gorgeous place to take a nice stroll along the water, or lay a blanket out and read a good book. Lots of friendly people passing through, with their friendly dogs

Punta Gorda Nature Park is a 21-acre natural oasis nestled in the heart of Punta Gorda Isles. This park features diverse wildlife, lush forests, and serene marsh areas, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the park's walking trails, relax at picnic tables, or try their luck at the fishing pier. The city has also invested in creating bike and pedestrian-friendly pathways, with a free bicycle loaner program available for those looking to explore the 4.
This was a pretty little park with trails and picnic tables and volunteer workers there beautifying the place. It was a place of comfort on a very trying day for our family as we were trying to give my sister's beloved pet beauty before he went over the rainbow Bridge. For us, it was everything.
Kat L — Google review
We went here a few years ago and it was absolutely beautiful. This time was a different experience. The plants are still pretty that are located near the parking areas. However not only are most of the trails flooded and not pretty, the area is unsafe.. especially if you have a dog or child. Not only did we encounter many flooded areas with very smelly water, we encountered rusty nails, bridges with gaps big enough for a small dogs feet to fall through (look like poor repairs), bridges that can cause someone to trip, part of the trail borders scattered all over the place, tree limbs hanging down about to fall on trail, and more! I think hurricane Ian over a year ago probably hit it hard. However the clean up on the trails has been very slow. I think they should close the trails until they can make them safer. The gardens by the parking lots are beautiful and well kept as well as the picnic areas. Also be aware there are no bathrooms. I took many pics. It's sad to see this once beautiful place in this shape. The one star is because there were poinsettia plants and berries scattered around a dog friendly park, there were rusty nails on the trail, and my dog almost hurt herself badly on the bridge with the gaps. So they one store was for safety reasons. Also the flood waters made mosquitoes HORRIBLE even at 4pm. I will change my review when safety things are addressed.
Shell T — Google review
It has a groomed trail a little over a mile long. It's actually two ½+/- mile long trails that connect to each other. With information placards about the plants and animals you might see along the way. And the most important part is it's dog friendly. And bring your own water.
Matt J — Google review
Nothing to do, and very little to see during the dry season. Was expecting a bigger park, should have checked the map before I went. There are no restrooms, and this is basically just a loop for people to walk around. Nothing else. Maybe during the rainy season it looks better as it was dry and almost abandoned looking when we went.
Jose B — Google review
Garden areas are nice, but the actual nature park is a real bore. Better views than the neighborhood and good hard trails.
Robert L — Google review
Gorgeous flower gardens and trails that real a lot of nature if you.know what to look for. Serene and peaceful in the middle of city. A must visit for those who love the outdoors.
Mark M — Google review
Small park with nice landscaping and a short nature trail. Not usually crowded. Nice place to read a book or have some quiet time.
Frank D — Google review
Very cute walking/picnic area. The walking trails bring you threw some wetland area about 1/2 mile hike. It got a little beat up from the recent hurricanes so you can't make the whole walk around at the moment because some of the trail is closed off. Made multiple picnic tables in the garden area. Dog friendly also

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in a charming Old Florida Cracker Shack, Peace River Seafood Restaurant & Market is a hidden gem that seafood lovers simply cannot miss. This delightful eatery offers an authentic taste of the Gulf with its daily supply of freshly caught seafood. Renowned for their mouthwatering Florida Blue Crabs, guests can indulge in a variety of dishes that change with the tides.
Omg! The stuff we accumulate and think why, how? Well I took a “me day”after going through some things for a couple of days in my little apartment, I packed up my cargo area of my car. 3 medium boxes , 2 large and a bag of clothes and linens. So I went got my hair done and then off to Goodwill to Donate. Of course, I just had to go in and browse Goodwill to see what treasure I may find even though I know I should not , I just had to have that cute orchid picture, in case my real one dies lol , a lovely summer dress, a shirt, an outdoor rug for my patio after management paints the building. Oh yeah a Green flowered shirt for St Paddy’s lol ok that’s it , I put on the brakes. I still have to go through boxes and scared to look in my closet!!! I am proud I am moving at a steady pace and gonna get rid of more to make up for what I bought! Giggle, snort. My heart is happy that some one will love the treasures I leave and those in need. I then treated myself to a seafood dinner at the old Peace River Botonical restaurant . The ladies there were happy to see me and I them, as its been a while since I was there. Blue crabs are in , but i felt like trying their stoneccrab and shrimp special. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the fact that being alone , I shared a table with two couples . Who welcomed my crashing their table and we ended up having quite a few laughs! This place reminds me of old Florida and the little hole-in-the-walls with great chances to meet people, good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Looking at the old large tree and the cool breeze running through it, it reminded me of what is important , living life and loving these memories of my many, many years in Florida and why I love it. Peace River you made my day and thanks for the reminder. Well off the browse my treasures. Love you all!

This feels authentic. We got the steamed seafood platter, just show them this picture, incredible. I love the seasoning on the shrimp and the clams and oysters tasted so fresh. None of that awful ‘Did I just eat vibrio vulnificus’ flavor we all fear.
Patrick Q — Google review
Peace River Seafood has fresh seafood, which means it's caught in the morning. The servers are knowledgeable about seafood preparation and had good recommendations. The key lime pie topped off a delicious meal.
Mick B — Google review
Delicious! Closest we have come to finding Maryland style steamed crabs since we moved!!! Shrimp were also amazing.
Sabrina B — Google review
This place was good for what it’s supposed to be, strictly a seafood boil place. Very straight forward and to the point, the seafood tasted fresh, and the server was nice. It’s a tiny tiny place, about 5 tables outside and 5 inside.
K D — Google review
We have been here a few times. This last time we went in August of 2025, after seeing such large crabs, we were disappointed to find the crab plate pictured must have been held close to the camera. They were not at all this big when we dined there. There was so little meat and a LOT of work. The butter is not real butter, even though I was told "it is!" It was an oil based I don't know what, but was absolutely was not butter and it ruined the taste of what little crab we had. The establishment very mom and pop and we LOVED that! The servers were nice but forgot things, we waited for drinks while they chatted with other patrons, we had to ask several times when she walked by. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
My2cents — Google review
This is a cute spot with excellent service — 5/5 stars for that alone. The price is fair, and I’d call it a good value to try out. If you like blue crab, you’ll probably love this place. Turns out I really don't like it, which was kind of humorous. The waitress even gave us a kind tableside lesson on how to eat them, but it just wasn’t for me. I don’t recommend sharing the 12-large-crab platter — I left hungry. The corn was plentiful but bland, and I can’t speak to the small potatoes since my friend ate both. Overall: not my style of seafood (I’m more of a snow crab and fresh fish fan), but it’s clearly a local favorite and worth a try, especially if blue crab is your thing. The menu has many more items from which to choose; perhaps I'll return some day to try those, too!
C C — Google review
If you're looking for fresh seafood in an "old Florida" atmosphere, look no further! The staff was incredible and the food was even better! You might drive by this "little shack" on Duncan Road without giving it a thought, but that would be unfortunate for YOU! So in and enjoy fresh fish and crabs! You won't be disappointed.

Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary (OWS) is a refuge for abandoned wild animals that provides self-guided tours to visitors. This facility receives support from the surrounding communities due to their exceptional care for unwanted exotic animals, mainly large cats. Recently revamped and well-maintained, OWS ensures that all its residents are healthy and content in their environment. Care-givers at this sanctuary are friendly and helpful, making it an enjoyable experience for all who visit.
Our Octagon experience was amazing. It was apparent the moment we walked in that the Octagon staff/volunteers were dedicated to the animals within the sanctuary. Our tour guide was so informative to the participants and compassionate towards the animals. We were fortunate enough to be there on "enrichment day" where the aninals had to search for their meaty treats. It was fantastic to get so close to each of the animals. I would highly recommend the Octagon tours to everyone.

This was an amazing place to visit with my kids. Our tour guide Tracey was warm and welcoming and so knowledgeable about the background of the animals they have rescued. The Sanctuary really gives you a more interactive and in depth animal experience than any zoo could ever do. They really care about all of the animals that they have. Be sure to make a reservation in advanced to visit!

What a wonderful place. They rescue and care for abandoned and abused exotic animals and give them good lives. You can tell the staff cares so much about the animals. Elsbeth took our group on a tour of the property and introduced us to all the animals - lions, tigers, ligers, bears, primates, wolves, hyenas, and so much more. She was soooo nice and fun. They plan little enrichment activities with the animals during the tour so we can watch them in action - like getting a new toy or a snack or something like that. It was just such a great place. I loved every minute.

Great seeing the animals. They gave the animals puzzles with food treats in them so you were really able to see them. Only downside with it was real slow moving. Glad I didn’t have a child with me or they would have been bored.

Octagon is a great sanctuary for exotic animals. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and informative, the animals are healthy and well cared for, and the facility is clean and secure. Highly recommend!

We hadn’t been to Octagon Animal Sanctuary since before COVID, and the new setup with private tours only. It made the experience even more special. Our guide, Tracy, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate—we learned so much about each animal and their unique stories. One of the highlights was watching the animals enjoy their enrichment time and snacks; it was heartwarming to see them so active and engaged. While some of the animals have heartbreaking pasts, it’s clear they are now surrounded by love and excellent care. We’re so grateful places like this exist. Highly recommend a visit!

A very nice sanctuary. All the animals have enclosures that include enrichment items; swimming pools, toys, climbing towers, even tvs playing cartoons. I thought the animals seemed very happy and they were very active during my visit.
Jennifer S — Google review
An FWC approved and verified facility housing abandoned and abused lions, Tigers, bears, hyenas, wolves and many other species. Run with the help of an all volunteer staff and donations the tours are available by booking online, super easy to do. Single tour Monday at 9:30 am starting October moving to Three days a week, starting again November Monday, Thursday and Saturday, 9:30 and 10:30 am start. I went on the 9:30 am tour lasting till 11am. Elisabeth our tour guide is knowledgeable, gives a history and origins of each of the animals, the new wireless mic and speaker made it easier to hear everything said on the tour. Enclosures meet and exceed all the standards, all are a sand or dirt floor with large swim pools for each animal. They offer enrichment activities to each of the animals and special treats periodically. Double fenced with special gates to access or separate the pens for cleaning and maintenance it is a well run facility. A number of the enclosures are being expanded and new enclosures are in the planning too Take note of the picture of the sign with the amount of food needed, donations, visitors always welcome. Started Volunteering here, great experience and happy to be close to nature 😀. Enclosures being updated and enlarged. New enclosures and enhancements to others underway.

Twice here, amazing both times. Service from start to finish was wonderful and very attentive. Atmosphere was casual but beachfront nice and perfect to celebrate a birthday a date night or just a nice dinner out. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Well seasoned in every dish and obviously freshly made. We will be back many more times for sure.

Its on the water, the view was beautiful and we sat outside. I had mermaid water, smoked salmon Bagel sushi roll, Oyster Rockefeller was absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious. Service was stellar. Great atmosphere for all families. Prices are on point for what you are getting. I highly recommend.

LOOKS ARE DECEIVING! So much to say about this meal. Do NOT eat here! Service was good. But when a customer eats 2 bites of the meal and you ask, did you not like the food" I say no. Typically that should be addressed. Nope. Paid and left. Wife order grouper laishley. Fish so dry and over cooked. I had the grouper sandwich. The bun was so dry it crumbled when I picked up and my grouper was over cooked and very fishy, aka old. Fries were old, cold and no salt. We had the artichoke crab dip. No flavor and a big ball of cream cheese in the middle. Old plastic glasses for soda and water. So many fails. Tap beer $7.

Laishley Crab House I have been wanting to stop by this place for a while and I finally got the chance to. I just love this place. They are on the 2nd floor but have an elevator to help get you there. The inside is huge with a very large bar area and a massive Crab hanging from the ceiling. There are lots of seating on the inside but where I believe where they shine is the seating on the Patio overlooking the River and Harbor. The view is just amazing. For an Appetizer we ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and a bowl of Clam Chowder to share. For our main orders I got the Captain’s Platter which had Shrimp, Clam Strips, Grouper, Hush Puppies Fries or Coleslaw. My wife ordered the Blackened Scallop Salad which had Blackened Scallops served over a Spring Mix with Strawberries, Walnuts and Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing. Our Appetizers came out first and they looked good, and they were. The Shrimp were large, and the Clam Chowder was very good. Our main orders came out they looked amazing. They were very good, and our plates were full. All our food was hot and very flavorful. Our waiter Billy was on the ball with any needs we had, and he checked on us many times. I loved the service, the food, and the views. I for one can’t wait to go back and you should make sure to stop by and visit this place. I Must give this place 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me On FB For More Reviews & Fun Gulf Coast Terry

Delicious! Everything was on point for our early dinner. The scallops, mahi mahi, and crab cakes were all tasty. The servers were friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Coming back to Lashley’s Crab House after 8 years later felt like catching up with an old friend—one that still knows how to serve great food and flex with the best sunset in town. I used to live here before I joined the military, so this wasn’t my first visit—but it still hit different. My wife ordered the steak salad, and I’m pretty sure it could get its own fan club. I went with sushi, because why not be the rebel who orders raw fish at a crab house? Zero regrets—fresh, flavorful, and gone in about three minutes. We kept it simple with waters and lemon (hydration over hangovers, baby), but the atmosphere didn’t need dressing up. Lashley’s shines on its own. If you want a truly memorable experience, plan ahead. This place is known for its waterfront sunset views, and the golden hour here is next-level. Get there early or make a reservation—trust me, it’s worth it. Still just as special as I remembered. We’ll be back—maybe next time we’ll even try the crab. Or not. Sushi squad for life. Spent about $57 for two people (this is including tip) ***they offer military discount***

We live in Fort Myers and decided to spend the day in Punta Gorda. We reserved a table for 6 o’clock. We were immediately seated with our server showing up quickly, taking our order for drinks and appetizers. All of the food came out rather fast and was delicious. We had con fritters, sushi, rolls, and seafood nachos. Our only issue was running out of beverages during our meal and having to find someone to locate our server. I would definitely recommend restaurant and will return in the future.

Wow! A great lunch… sushi, salad, and a wrap was tasty. Heather was an attentive server and was always right on time. Veterans, they have a discount just for us. Thank You Laishley Crab House!

TT's Tiki Bar is a laid-back beach hut in Punta Gorda, offering casual American food and a sandy patio with a fire pit and volleyball. It's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy tropical drinks while watching the sunset. The bar features tiki-themed decor, live music, and a diverse menu of cocktails and local beers. Additionally, it's located near Fishermen's Village, providing opportunities for shopping, dining, boat rentals, and fishing charters.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TT’s Tiki Bar is the place to be for live music and waterfront vibes! Great atmosphere, awesome staff, and a perfect setting for a night out. We caught a show with Pure Country and the production was top-notch — big thumbs up to WC Sounds Event Productions for the incredible sound, lighting, and stage setup. Everything looked and sounded fantastic. Can’t wait to come back for the next show! 🎶🍹🌴

It was my first time there and I’m fairly new to the area. You can see the tiki bar from the bridge and always wanted to check it out. The ambience and the vibe of this place is amazing. There’s so many areas to get frozen drinks and cocktails Live music and entertainment and of course the beautiful sunsets that West Coast Florida has to offer. I highly recommend it.

TT's is a great place to watch the sunset. The staff was friendly and the drinks cold and delicious. They have a great variety from which you can choose as well. I particularly enjoyed the Million Dollar Sunset. We will definitely be back to try the food.

A great tiki bar on the water. Lots and lots of room. It has event space. The main bar is great, with Preston M being very friendly. Stopped in for a few beers and cocktails. The chicken fingers are the flat kind that I like. Pet friendly!

Love the atmosphere here, beautiful views, but the food is never good. I try something different every time I come and its either dry, flavorless, or just not awesome quality. If the food was good, this would be our new go-to. Hopefully some changes happen!

This is a fun tiki Bar ,very festive well taken care of, very clean!!! The mahi sandwich was delicious exactly the way I like it. It was a tad bit dry ( i dont like sticky/wet fish sandwich ) but yet it was nice and flaky. How to recommend a stop. Great folks here

Wow what can I say about this place.. Me and my. Wife had vacation coming up and on this beautiful night we decided to go over the bridge to go get some food and drinks and came across the Tiki Bar.. When I mean when you get here go have a seat at the bar and ask for Mitch.. He definitely will get you in the right direction.. The food was to die for.. And the drinks was amazing we had the Don Julio Le-Man-Ade and my wife had a Lemon Drop Martini

It was a little confusing to get to the entrance but after circling the bridges we found it. The tiki bar is well kept, the food is delicious, and we loved the atmosphere. They had different games to play and a few chairs and tables outside of the tiki area. Will definitely go back.

Peace River Seafood has fresh seafood, which means it's caught in the morning. The servers are knowledgeable about seafood preparation and had good recommendations. The key lime pie topped off a delicious meal.

The Perfect Caper

Located in Punta Gorda, Florida, The Perfect Caper offers a casual yet elegant dining experience with creative dishes paired with vibrant cocktails and wine. The town itself is known for its waterside shopping and walking areas along the Harborwalk and at Fishermen's Village on Charlotte Harbor. In addition to its variety of shops, Punta Gorda is home to several museums including the Military Heritage Museum and The A.C. Freemen House Museum.
The Perfect Caper is an absolute gem with a warm, inviting ambiance that makes you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The highlight was definitely the mussel appetizer, which is a must-try!! It’s the dish that beat Bobby Flay, and rightly so! We also enjoyed the fantastic drinks that were perfectly crafted and definitely worth ordering. While the entrees weren’t our favorites, the appetizers more than made up for it. The staff, especially Rania and Zach, went above and beyond! Rania was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu, and Zach’s photo-taking added a special touch. Seeing the picture of Taylor Swift and Lorde with Chef Jeanie Roland was a fun surprise. The genuine hospitality and top-notch service truly set this place apart, and we can't wait to return to experience it all again!

So I thought I had a reservation at a different restaurant but my bad. I screwed up and picked the wrong date. I thought no way would anyone else have a table for 2 on a Friday night in PG. we had been wanting to try it but simply haven’t made it there yet. I called and to my good fortune they were able to accommodate my wife and I for our anniversary. Our server was Zach. Seasoned professional! Told us of favorite items from both diners and staff on the menu. We started with the calamari. Perfection! Then my wife had divers scallops and I had the 8oz filet. Both were simply amazing! Then we finished with a salted caramel tart with homemade ice cream. Service was impeccable and everything moved right along at the perfect pace without being rushed or having to wait. It was an amazing experience and we will return. I wish we would’ve went sooner.

WOW! This was an unbelievable experience! The food is simply jaw dropping. The selection; the attention to detail; the presentation; the quantity and the taste - all superlative! Our server Jenny was so lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. I had the Thai curry mussels as an entree and Gary had the tempura shrimp - I don’t think I’ve ever seen shrimp that large - even in Thailand! Even if you don’t have room for dessert you must try the butter tart - it’s huge and so delicious!! I don’t know how anyone could eat one alone but Jenny claims she could do it!! Don’t know about that! she’s such a wee bit of a thing! Only drawback was we were seated beside a large group of business people that were very loud. When the owner said - is this table ok? He offered another that was equally as close. It was very loud and not as romantic as we had hoped for. Everything else outweighed that though. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. I ordered the New York steak and my boyfriend had a pork dish, both of which were absolutely delicious. The presentation was beautiful and made you want to dive right in. The meat was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. You could really tell the quality of the ingredients and the chef’s great work. This is definitely a place I’d love to return to and highly recommend to anyone who appreciates a good cut of meat. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Phenomenal, each & every time! Pictured in order are The Fried Mushroom, Calamari, Crabcake, Burger of the Day (all from today), then A Warm Goat aside The Fried Mushroom and Seared Scallops (from 01/2024) Today was my mom’s birthday & we’ve been here before but this was our first lunch experience. We had Amanda, who executes her service with incredible kindness, knowledge, and sincerity. That’s vital, to have a server who is Sincere. She’s not going to sell you anything based on dollar signs! You’d do yourself a solid to ask for her. Let’s talk food! The Fried Mushroom is something I get every time…it’s not breaded! It’s flash fried, served over whipped goat cheese, drizzled with balsamic & olive oil, s & p, & accompanied by delightful toast points & arugula. You must try it!!!! The calamari exceeds any calamari I have ever had in any other restaurant. The spicy sweet chili sauce is outstanding! The batter is light and the combination of flavors is exquisite. We each got the burger of the day…today served with a bacon mayo, red peppers, provolone cheese as well as a side of frites. They have the best frites ever! I had those first because they don’t heat up very well. I tried to work on the burger—it’s HUGE! My mom ate about half of hers, but I have also gotten an à la carte crabcake. Love the à la carte options! You can add a scallop or a crabcake or shrimp. I couldn’t choose between the crabcake and the burger, so it worked fab, as that crabcake is delectable beyond measure! Guess what?! It’s also Gluten free!!! The roasted red pepper lemon butter—oh my God I could eat it with a spoon! We didn’t get dessert today because we have the Birthday Cake they make already. It’s on their special’s menu this week & you’ll not ever have anything finer. Amanda made sure we were well cared for and Gabe, the manager, checked on us several times, wishing my mom a happy birthday. Love them both! Let’s talk about the atmosphere. It’s very understated and simple. I personally love it. It’s quite comfortable and I can focus on just enjoying the culinary adventure laid before me, which isn’t that what going to a fine dining establishment should really be about? We sat in a lovely booth, which was comfy as can be, very quiet, and, like I said, just simple. I have a relative in the music industry so here’s my analogy: he always said the more trucks and equipment a band takes, the more they are trying to “wow” you with something other than their musical abilities. In my opinion, a restaurant is not much different! Decor can definitely add something but in my opinion, it’s not necessary to be over the top when you have over the top food. The Perfect Caper does in fact have food that consistently exceeds expectation. This is the best food that I’ve had in southwest Florida. Consistently. The Perfect Caper makes my tail wag, each and every time.

Riviera Bar and Grill is a charming restaurant situated by Alligator Creek, offering a delightful outdoor patio where guests can enjoy boat-watching. Boaters can take advantage of the docking facilities available. The menu features an array of options including seafood, burgers, chicken, and a kids' menu. Live music performances add to the inviting ambiance. It's important not to confuse this establishment with River City Grill as they are two distinct dining venues in Punta Gorda.
The service was on the BALL here, even during the busiest time of the day. The restaurant was PACKED at 5pm but they got us in and seated immediately. Two of us got the Captains chowder followed by the Captains Dog, and it was amazing. The fish tasted like a river fish, the briny flavor in the front of the palette followed by the taste of the fish itself, which was flaky. The English roll might have come out of a bag, but it was buttered and toasted well, and the toppings of the "dog" made it a perfect creekside meal The chowder was fantastic One of us the l got a burger and onion "straws" which were actually just small onion rings. They were delicious, not stiff at all, breaded and the onions inside were just a little slimy. I didn't try the burger but they said it was good. The mahi tacos were a little bland according to another person in my party. didn't try those, but they got eaten. We'll be back soon!

Awesome spot for water front dining. The tiki bar is awesome and so is the food. Our waitress Angie was great. The grouper dog was excellent but the crab cake was a disappointment. Too much aioli and too soggy. Otherwise the experience was great. Will definitely return.

Stopped here today for lunch and so glad we did! My husband ordered blackened red fish and I got one pound of shrimp (which I happily shared with him). We decided to order the orange cake for dessert and it was equally delicious!! Our server, Ann, was delightful! This restaurant seems a bit off the beaten path, but not one table was empty the whole time we were here. That speaks volumes!

One of our favorite local restaurants on the water here in Punta Gorda. You can enjoy a number of specialities, from fresh seafood to lobster rolls to burgers and salads. You won’t be disappointed. They have an excellent views of Alligator Creek, which is loaded with snook. If you order the Shrimp Shack Basket, remember to keep your shrimp tails to feed the snook in Alligator Creek on your way out. We had fun throwing the tails in the water and watching the chase after them. You’ll have fun too! They have A/C inside or you can dine on the covered deck on the canal side. Boaters can dock there too after an exciting day on the harbor. So whether you come by land of water they have you covered with tasty meals and refreshments.

Dining on the water in SWFL, it'd be 6 stars even if the food was meh... Great views. Staff is fun and friendly. Food is good - I've never had anything we didn't like. Come by boat, plenty of dockage. Local tip - always get the peel and eat shrimp, and go out on the dock and feed the shells to the snook - they love it!

This place is always on our list of places to go when we are in Cape Coral. We love the menu and service is great! Hidden tip: I'm not a cauliflower buffalo sauce or not, nor bleu cheese fan AT ALL but somehow they make it taste good! All of their main dishes, Gumbo, jambalaya, crayfish mac n cheese, shrimp n grits, etc find themselves in my leftover dishes for an extra meal or two. The BEST of all is BANANA PUDDING for dessert. You gotta try it !

Food and drinks were good, the service was outstanding. The pork belly buns, collard greens, garlic mashed with gravy, and the blackened salmon, were all very good. The fried green tomatos were cut in thick wedges. Tgey didnt seem to be cooked well and were just too large. If you haven't been, you need to give them a try. Ill be back, but not for the green tomato or on a Sunday during football season. A bit loud 😆

First impression: no one was eating when we walked in. I should have known from there but I wanted to give them a try. I had the pork chop platter. The pork chop had no flavor and the collard greens were overly salted. My guest had the catfish platter. No flavor and the breading slipped right off. The staff weren’t friendly at all. My guest and I were disappointed and will not return.

The menu boasted an array of delectable dishes, including the gumbo, oxtail, collard greens, and homemade corn bread, all of which were expertly prepared and presented. The food and drinks are always epic. While it can be crowded at times, we have always had excellent service and a great time. The bands that frequently play have thus far been great and quite fun. It’s definitely worth stopping by for at least a beverage, an appetizer, maybe some of the food (*psst - not on the menu but definitely worth getting is the banana pudding). The ice tea even though I asked for 50/50 was SWEEEEEET! Next time I’ll do a 75/25 mixture. If you need energy shot, drink the sweet Tea! This will give you more wings than Red Bull…🤣. The hard boiled eggs an bone marrow extremely tasty. ok I left the best for last. The Banana pudding is the best I’ve ever tried.

Stopped in on holloween most of dinning room was empty by this time. Hostess gave us a tablet to use for menu.... but it died. Sat for over 10 mins before we were acknowledged.. tables around us sit dirty still. Band could be good on nights like this but way to loud for space.. plus they at this point they are screaming... more like high paid karaoke 🎤 😜... food has always been good but a little pricey.. but its whatever.. the cider beer is awesome by the way.. but I would love it more on draft.... and offer regular menus too as an option. I love the use of technology but it takes away from the dinning experience.. especially someone such as a southern kitchen such as leroys... keep up putting lut good food leroys just dont forget the basics....

Dinner was beyond delicious. Come expecting superior service. Beau was our server and was delightful. Portions are generous. They even have gluten free pasta as an option. Soup or salad with each meal, and the salad was just so yummy as well. Authentic Italian with a great setting. Go a little earlier than sunset so you can walk across to catch it set.

This was our first visit to Carmelo’s. Nathan was an attentive server. He made excellent suggestions and helped pace our dinner out perfectly. The food was divine. We started with Bada Bing with sausage. Entrees were Chicken Valentina and Lasagna. Dessert was a cannoli and crème brûlée. Everything was so good and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

This place is an absolute vibe! High quality food/drinks. Service is phenomenal. The place offers indoor and outdoor seating, including on the front porch and courtyard where you can really enjoy the atmosphere. I’ve been here a handful of times and have enjoyed everything I’ve ordered. Highly recommend this place and to make reservations beforehand (preferably days before!)

Once again we found ourselves at Carmelo’s Italian Ristorante celebrating another wedding anniversary. The cuisine is an absolute out of this world palette pleaser! So delicious! The service was attentive and exceptional, with their talented staff making sure we had a delightful dining experience. This is one of our favorite places to eat in Punta Gorda. Thank you Travis for making celebration so memorable.

Excellent Service, server was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Food came out promptly, at temperature and was the best Italian fare we’ve had in the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area! W ordered the “Bada Bing” w house made sausage and shrimp scampi as apps! Wonderful! Dishes ordered were Chicken Piccata, Sachettini w shrimp, shrimp and scallop limoncello, and Spaghetti Pescatore, all were delicious and served with soup or house salad! Every dish ordered was well received and raved about! We will DEFINITELY be returning to try other dishes! We highly RECOMMEND!!!

Wow. This is our 2nd time here, and both times, the food was delicious. We made a reservation beforehand, and our table was just finished being set up when we arrived. Our whole table was impressed with each of the dishes. At the end of the meal, they brought out the dessert tray. I could have ordered 1 of everything because it looked so good. We had the bread pudding with Gelato on it. It was really good. We also took a slice of chocolate cake to go. It was busy but our waitress was still pretty attentive. Bathrooms were clean. The table was a bit small for a party of 6 and all the plates we had, but we made it work. If you are looking for a relaxing evening and a delicious meal, then this is the place to go. You can even watch the sunset at the park across the street after your meal.

Best dining experience I have ever had. Atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Service was amazing. And the food was worth every penny. Made our anniversary dinner one we won’t forget.

Wow… I don’t know how one has anything negative to say other than there isn’t enough space in their stomach for all of the delicious food. RUN HERE DONT WALK.. We drove 40 minutes for this and plan on making it a regular date spot, Linda (Collin was training) were both amazing and would come back for the service alone. We can’t wait to come back

The restaurant also surprises guests with its breakfast offerings, including stuffed French toast and specialty omelets. In addition to being a burger lover's paradise, Burg'r Bar also caters to vegetarians and vegans.
This place spectacular! Food was AMAZING! PRICES WERE GREAT, THE SEVERICE WAS OUTSTANDING ! They have a nice little outside seating area. Jim, our server went above and beyond, and observed with other customers as well. Mahi mahi dip A+. Our group also had the Cesar salad and rhuben. All was delicious, and good portion sizes.
Tiffany R — Google review
Have been here a few times, but wow! They have stepped up their game! Even serving on real plates now. Once we were able to get service (which is why the 4 stars, the person we told we were sitting outside failed to tell others) but the others made up for it! Very friendly! Eggs Benedict (sorry for messy pic, I dug in first, but shows perfect poached egg😊), hubby ordered the Cuban omelet special and it was well loaded, all served hot. Delicious and well priced for the area. We’ll be back Burg’r Bar!!
Kelly M — Google review
Burg’r Bar in Punta Gorda is honestly just okay. The food was fine but way overpriced for what you get. Service was really slow — the waitresses seemed more interested in standing around chatting than checking on tables. For the cost, I expected a lot better overall experience.
Lisa F — Google review
Burg’r Bar is fantastic! The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the onion rings were crispy and delicious. Service was quick, and the staff were super attentive and friendly from start to finish. Great experience—can’t wait to come back!

I went in the place was really clean and welcoming. My server ,Alex, suggested the BLT, and it was one of the best I've had. Great price too. Alex was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I will for sure be returning at some point.
Shane M — Google review
In the past I have loved this place. Tried going yesterday morning for breakfast. Walked in and saw tables were full though there was a table outside and room at the counter. Asked if we could sit at the counter and we were told no, it was a 20 minute wait and the kitchen was behind. We decided to wait. Another couple came in, asked about sitting at counter and we're told the same thing. Third couple comes in, goes right to the counter (host sees this and says nothing) and sits down. We left as they were being served drinks. Not sure I'll be back.
Angel R — Google review
We got the pickle fries to start and they were delicious! My wife got the BLT (amazing bacon) and I got a cheeseburger on the pretzel bun with chili cheese fries. Both dishes were scrumptious and portions were huge! Definitely will return

We had christmas dinner here tonight. The food was delicious. We had the Mexican street corn deviled eggs, prime pork rib and the meatloaf. My husband also had a bourbon smash which he loved. We shared a slice of the chocolate cheesecake for dessert. Oh my, it was sinfully delicious. It was extremely busy, and they made over 600 dinners for people. Even though they were busy, the staff was in great spirits and attentive. Denise was wonderful. She made our evening even better. Thank you all for being open and serving so many people. We will definitely be back.

What a great meal! Thank you Angie for the great service. Summer specials available are very good. Asian Wontons were great. New England Clam Chowder was thick and delicious. Took a chance and ordered the French Onion Meatloaf and loved it.

The food was alright, nothing special. It’s a little bit pricey for the amount of serving. We paid $86 for these two meals and 1 cocktail. Service was great though.
Leni L — Google review
I'm from Ohio and was visiting my mom and daughter. I was so happy to find this eatery. The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch. The first course was the free rolls and butter. The second course was Boom Boom Shrimp. The slaw was fresh, and the shrimp was perfectly seasoned and had a good texture. We also had the spaghetti stuffed grande meatball (from the Italia restaurant on the other side). It was huge and had spaghetti inside and a rich tomato sauce on top. The third course was our entree. I had the special. Perfectly cooked scallops over potatoes and veggies. Lastly, we had cheesecake for dessert (one was coffee and the other mango). I was surprised how much I enjoyed the mango cheesecake! Prices are mid-range (a tad more than a chain like Longhorn). Service was above average. Daniel was our server, and drinks were filled up quickly, and he checked back in with us frequently enough to be attentive but not annoying. I will definitely be back!

If you are in the Punta Gorda downtown area definitely do not hesitate to experience this gem! The food is phenomenal and very flavorful as well as the presentation being spectacular. I went for the first time yesterday and Amanda(the waitress) provided great recommendations from appetizers to the main meal. Excellent experience from the minute we walked in! Very attentive, proficient server who was very knowledgeable about the specials and popular menu items. Great mixologists on the free-poured cocktails and good dinner quality wine. I ordered the Tampa Cracker Ribeye steak and I can’t think of a time I’ve had it’s equal. I look forward to my next visit!

This is a great place for Irish food, good live music and a great vibe. The Guinness Bacon Cheeseburger Pasty was awesome. There is also an amazing beer selection. This will become one of my regular spots m.

Really cool Public house. Lots of seating, huge bar, excellent food, great beer, friendly staff, it’s just a good place to stop and eat and grab a pint of Guinness. We had shepherds pie and fish and chips and enjoyed every bit of it. Portions are hefty and worth every penny. For dessert we had Dublin tart - baileys and chocolate…yes please! If you like spicy ask for the hot sauces!

Southwest Florida International Airport

Airport
Southwest Florida International Airport, also known as Fort Myers airport, is a regional hub that showcases local art and offers a variety of dining and shopping options. It provides easy access to the city center via LeeTran bus service or rental cars from Miami Airport. While Concourse B has limited dining options, the airport generally receives positive feedback for its convenient location near I75 and efficient TSA process.
It was my first time flying to Fort Myers and coming to this airport. We landed on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty busy. The airport is really huge however, its super navigation friendly. There are multiple gates and lines to check in/out. The most important factor for any airport is how fast you get the luggage, which here it was pretty organized and fast. There are multiple luggage belts and space around it for travellers to find and get their luggage pretty easily. Officers were pretty professional and fast as well. Washrooms were super clean and spacious. There are multiple stores and cafes to use if you need to wait for a flight as well.

Clean, Friendly, Professional. I would nick name this Airport, "The Airport with glass floors." It looked like I was walking on water the way these floors shined. I had an overall great experience at this Airport. I will definitely be back. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your kindness attention to detail and over all great performance as a team.

Spent 20 min in normal TSA line. That wasn’t bad. If you tip the baggage people out in the drop off line outdoors, they’ll let it slide that you have a pound or two extra over weight. While I was here there were a few people in the TSA line that were complaining that their boarding passes and tickets were messed up. It told them to go to gate D but it was actually a B gate and the switch of airlines happened last minute. People missed their flights because of this and TSA was unforgiving, nobody got to skip the line. That didn’t happen to me. Show up a couple hours early folks in case things like that happen. The Starbucks line wasn’t long on this Monday morning 7a. They have lots of plugs at seating areas and tech charging bars. The bathroom stalls are small to bring your luggage into. They have a companion restroom which I thought was nice. They have a water bottle refilling station. The gates have very tiny seating areas. Definitely not enough room for even have a flight’s passengers so lots of people standing around. This is a relatively quiet and clean airport.
M W — Google review
Overall, great airport. Very small and clean. Generally well-organized. Smooth tsa. Occasionally, due to weather there will be delays or cancelations. This has more to do with the specific airlines. Airport is very easy to navigate. Very few stores or food options. Eat beforehand.
Lisa B — Google review
Where do I begin with this Airport. My whole life vacationing to Southwest Florida I have used this Airport. This Airport is probably the most organized airport I have ever been two. There are many shops and restaurants and it is very easy to navigate. All the baggage claims are in one spot and once you collect your things the rental car/road is right in front. There is never any traffic and it’s an easy in and out of the airport. They are now building a new terminal which I can’t wait to see when it is complete! Highly recommend using this AirPort while traveling to this part of the state.
Leduardo M — Google review
It's a nice airport to travel into or fly from. There are a Starbucks, Burger King, stores, and other food stands in Concourse B (where my family and I landed and took off from). TSA moves pretty swiftly and they do not take favoritism over who passes the x-ray scanner. They're very thorough. The rental car building is located across the street from baggage claim. Preferred rental car parking is inside the parking garage behind the building. The airport is undergoing construction. But overall it is a very nice airport.
Travis B — Google review
Nice airport. But if passengers got off the plane, walked through the airport, back to the tarmac, went into the planes cargo hold, searched for their bag and walked to their parking spot, it would be FASTER than this stupid airport. I've seen glaciers faster than these baggage people. 30-45 minutes from when you walk off the airplane to get in your bag is seriously normal. Come on RSW...

The Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is a great airport. It’s under construction in some areas, but the B Gates are fresh and new.

Punta Gorda Airport

Airport
Domestic airport
Punta Gorda Airport, located in Punta Gorda, Florida, serves a community that has experienced significant growth in recent years. The area is particularly popular among retirees due to its peaceful lifestyle, boating opportunities, safe neighborhoods, and quality healthcare facilities. With a predominantly older population and a majority leaning towards conservative political views, the city offers a laid-back atmosphere with waterfront parks and various amenities. The airport itself is well-maintained and organized with convenient parking options and clear signage.
Wonderful experience with Allegiant Air at Punta Gorda Airport. I've never used a smaller airport and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of check-in and going through security.
Laura D — Google review
For a small airport it is clean, quick and easy. It is certainly small, but convenient. It seems to be well run and has easy quick flights. Even on one of the busiest travel days of the year, security was a breeze, facilities clean and staff were professional. You do have to embark or deplane outside on the tarmac like it's 1994, so that is probably rough in crummy weather, but thankfully, Punta Gorda has nice weather almost year-round.
Sherry — Google review
Very easy airport to come in and out of. Literally only room about 5 minutes to make it through the security check line however it wasn’t all that busy when we arrived. The gate waiting however was very packed. Easy access off of I75 with a gas station nearby to refill rental car if needed. Rental car was easy pick up and drop off however was a bit more pricey than RSW rental for same time. You board the plane from outside which is unique! There was no air conditioning in gate 1 and 2 which made for a muggy wait with Allegiant being delayed, again. We would use this airport again.
Randy M — Google review
Nothin’ fancy here, just a friendly little airport that gets you from Point A to Point Porch without all the nonsense. I fly PGD whenever I’m headin’ down to the cabin to hear myself think and remind the squirrels who’s boss. You walk in, blink twice, and you’re already at the gate. No mazes, no mile-long hikes, and nobody trying to sell you a neck pillow shaped like a llama. Just regular folks doin’ their jobs and pointin’ you toward the plane. Got on the flight quick. Walked straight across the pavement like I was in a 1970s action movie, minus the explosion. Felt kind of important, honestly.

Highly recommend. A beautiful airport to fly into. Small, simple, well organized. Our flight arrived at 10:00 pm. We were off our flight and in our rental vehicle in 20 minutes. The rental counters were at the airport located in a building right beside it. The staff was extremely efficient and within no time we were off. Only one hour drive to Naples!

Staff helpful as we cross street from parking lot. Staff behind check in counter, security check and ticket scan desk and area we walked to walk the ramp to our plane all very pleasant. Parkinglot clean as well as all of inside airport that I traveled. Nice to have a few shops to make a last minute purchase too! ❤️ TY everyone involved with PGA!

Love this airport, but the inside gates need to have some type of fans blowing air because when the terminal gets crowded it gets very warm and uncomfortable.

Love this airport; it goes to so many small airports assuring easy in-and-out. And the non-stop flights are a dream, no layovers, transfers - perfect!!! The waiting area by the gates in Portsmouth, NH are so comfy, open and inviting; you almost don't mind the wait!!!

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport

International airport
Airport
Domestic airport
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) is the main air travel hub for Sarasota and Bradenton. It provides convenient access to the vibrant culture, local cuisine, and wellness-focused lifestyle of the area. The airport offers efficient services with minimal wait times at security, allowing travelers to quickly reach their gates or transportation upon arrival. While the food options are somewhat limited, there are a couple of bars and a Jimmy John's for quick bites.
Very nice airport. Just wish they had more options for food. Got walk through here and see that they have a limousine service downstairs. Gave them five stars for their professionalism. The companies name is ALD. I took another car service to the airport. They were very nice in the Ford SUV. But the company at the airport seems to provide more options. The prices looked very affordable, compared to other cities. They have all the major car rental places here. The airport also has a giant fish tank. And it looks like they are remodeling to extended. And I added a couple of more pictures so everybody could see how this airport looks and how nice it is. Finally getting on the plane, it’s a full flight tonight. Can’t wait to get to Dallas.

I appreciate the convenience of this small airport! It offers a straightforward experience without the hassle of long walks to the gates. The large, clear glass windows provide a great view of the planes, adding to the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the TSA process is efficient, making travel smoother. There are also some charming souvenir shops and good restaurants available. Overall, it's a pleasant and practical airport experience!

Sarasota–Bradenton Airport is a pleasure to travel through. It’s easy to access, with short lines and a smooth check-in process. The smaller size keeps everything simple and efficient, while the calm atmosphere makes traveling much more relaxing. The airport is also very clean and beautifully maintained, which makes flying in and out of here especially enjoyable.

Sarasota Bradenton Airport was magnificent! It's a small airport, which makes traveling through it easy and stress-free. The atmosphere is calm, the staff are friendly, and everything is well-organized. It’s a great place to start or end a trip — smooth, clean, and convenient. I’d definitely choose to fly from there again

Very nice and clean! Security is a breeze staff Is very nice and helpful! This airport is very easy to navigate and it is incredible how much it has grown in the past 10 years!
Emmett L — Google review
The airport itself is easy to navigate however they do not keep up with parking capacities and push people the far Lot D when long term parking spots are in abundance. It makes it difficult and time consuming for such a small airport. Even worse, there is one shuttle running in the later evening hours delaying your departure by more then an hour.
Erin M — Google review
I've always like SRQ because it convenient, clean, and and well organized. This last trip we arrived Fri at 11:30AM and found both short and long term parking full, as well as several of the overflow lots. We were directed to the "Tower Lot" which is hard to find as the sign is almost invisible in the sun. This is very stressful when tryin to make a flight. I was not able to find anywhere on the website with parking lots status. I guess I'll take an Uber next time.
Michael B — Google review
I cannot speak on parking issues but the remodel is so nice! Allegiant has a huge private terminal so getting to your gate is a breeze. TSA doesn’t open until 4:30am which I thought was odd but I guess because it’s a smaller airport that would make sense. Super easy to navigate and handicap accessible.
