Outdoor Activities
Maenam Beach on Ko Samui is a laid-back, several kilometers long stretch of coastline lined with palm trees, rental bungalows, and restaurants. It faces north into the Gulf of Thailand from the island's north-central coast and offers deeper waters for adult swimmers compared to other beaches on the island. This beach provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with children looking to swim and sunbathe in shallow waters.
Perfect beach, stayed here during a crazy storm but it was still really beautiful to take walks along and watch the sunset on 🌴✨️☀️🙌 Really a lot more quiet then other beaches too which is so nice!
Rana C — Google review
I loved this beach area from day one because of its beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. The only downside is the noise from water scooters when they’re running close to the shore—it can get a bit loud at times. Even so, it’s still a quiet and relaxing place to unwind. Plus, you can see the nearby islands from the beach, which makes the view even more special!
Diego E — Google review
Beautiful beach. The water is so calm, perfect for swimming and jet skiing. And you can see Ko Pha Ngan Island right opposite( Tte full moon festival's island).
Krasimira V — Google review
Very nice and quiet beach with a lot of palm trees love it
Kaan A — Google review
A quiet and peaceful beach in the day. Our hotel let you walk directly onto this beach. Lovely for a morning walk to get a coffee or breakfast.
Katy J — Google review
Wonderfully accessible and uncrowded. A wonderful beach that is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches on Samui.
Withold P — Google review
This beach is very calming and peaceful. There are not many people who come. The water, sand and view are all beautiful.

Market
Nestled in the heart of Mae Nam, Walking Street Maenam is a bustling market that comes to life every Thursday evening. Visitors can indulge in a variety of local delicacies and snacks while perusing through stalls offering an array of products, including clothing, handicrafts, and famous brands. The vibrant atmosphere is enhanced by live music performances that add to the lively ambiance. With an abundance of food carts and mobile cocktail bars, this market offers something for everyone.
For Maenam, Soi 4.(traffic lights) walking street is on Thursdays, from about 5 pm.until about 10 pm. Good selection of Vendors, selling all kinds of merchandise, plus a huge choice of both local and foreign food... Parking in the area can be a bit difficult, so be prepared to do some walking from where you can park your vehicle ! Worth while way to spend an evening.
Jim P — Google review
The living street of Maenam,, direct acces to the quiet and beautiful beach. This charming place offer massage, pharmacy ( good one), and grocery. Also a multitude of restaurant bar for each taste and budget. Thai, western( Austria, french, German, Swedish,... ) You will find your daily delicacy
Sebastien H — Google review
Very nice atmosphere and vibes street. Couple of nice trendy shops and many nice restaurants and cafes. View point to the main beach is breathtaking with the cool Koh Pangan island in front of you. Try one of the beach bars or massage places around, sunsets are really romantic.
Marek H — Google review
A very pleasant night market on Thursdays, lots of food opportunities!
Matthias200587 — Google review
This is a small market spread over two streets on a Thursday night. Great variety of stalls with lots of street food choices and drinks, all at very reasonable prices. There is some entertainment, which is very pleasant to enjoy a drink and street food. One of the best aspects of the market is that you are not hassled and can therefore walk around taking I what's on offer without any pressure. Certainly worth a visit.
Stephen T — Google review
Nothing unique or special about this market. Food wasn't too great either unfortunately. I guess its good for Koh Samui but I hope Thailand visitors have experienced much better on the mainland to get the real feel of a Thai Market
Dax C — Google review
A beautiful and pleasant street with a relaxed and European atmosphere, very nice restaurants, cafes and shops. the street leads to a beautiful and quiet beach. Every Thursday there is a stunning night market!
Noam G — Google review

Bo Phut Beach

Mentioned on

Beach
Bo Phut Beach, located in the north of Koh Samui, is a modest yet charming destination that offers a mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. The beach is divided into two sections: Bophut Beach itself and the renowned Fisherman's Village. This village is known for its well-preserved elegance, with wooden Chinese shop-houses blending seamlessly with modern buildings to create a Mediterranean atmosphere. It was once the main French outpost on the island.
Very pleasant hotel. Nice beach access and rooms. The staff was helpful and very nice. Some of them even remember our names! The breakfast was excellent and they offer lots of choice. And the hotel has lots of activities planned weekly. The management staff actually walk around and speak with the guest. Which is a very old-school, but very nice touch! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hidden Gem in Ko Samui – Fisherman’s Village at Bo Phut Beach 🌞🌊 Stumbled upon this charming Fisherman’s Village during our Ko Samui adventure—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! Nestled along the picturesque Bo Phut Beach, this spot perfectly blends laid-back beach vibes with vibrant island culture. By day, it’s a sun-drenched haven ☀️—great for strolling, beachside lounging, and popping into cozy cafés. But as the sun sets, the whole village transforms 🌅✨. The streets come alive with lights, music, and a buzzing energy that’s both relaxing and exciting. You’ll find everything here: 🎨 Talented local artists showcasing unique pieces 💈 Trendy barbershops with serious style 💅 Chic nail parlors for that perfect vacation manicure 💆‍♀️ Massage shops offering pure bliss with an ocean breeze And don’t even get me started on the food—incredible beachside restaurants serving up fresh seafood, Thai favorites, and global flavors in a cozy, candle-lit setting. Whether you're looking to unwind or explore, Fisherman’s Village is a must-visit slice of Ko Samui paradise.

Beach is long but definitely not wide enough to fully rest without multiple people walking right past the towel to lay. Also water further is a bit muddy
Agata D — Google review
Bo Phut Beach on Koh Samui island is one of the most known place there. It offers a laid-back atmosphere with its soft, golden sands and clear blue waters. It's an ideal spot for those looking to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of Thailand. The beach is particularly notable for its stunning sunset views, which create a magical backdrop for evening strolls or dinners on the shoreline. The nearby Fisherman’s Village adds to the beach's appeal, with its quaint shops, vibrant night market, and an array of restaurants serving fresh seafood and local cuisine. Bo Phut Beach’s shallow waters make it family-friendly, providing a safe environment for swimming and playing. Additionally, the beach is lined with palm trees and cozy loungers, encouraging visitors to relax and enjoy the tropical vibes.
Nataliawtajlandii — Google review
Beautiful house for rent daily, monthly, comfortable, spacious, quiet, beautifully decorated in a modern style on Koh Samui, close to the community and the city center, easy to travel and convenient.
Jibberry J — Google review
Nice beach but the sand was not white and soft but rather full of broken shells and little rocks. The water had the color of a lake and when you went in you were left with a weird brown smear on your body. So we left after only 1 1/2 hours.
L J — Google review
Stunning location. I stayed in a beach front resort in the area. Like many places in SE Asia, plastic and debris washes into the shore. Rather than complain about it, pick it up and collect plastics from the water for the sake of the turtles and other sea creatures.
Melissa H — Google review
Beautiful long beach. The sand is a bit coarse-grained, but still not a problem for long barefoot walks. The beach is not overcrowded and there is no vehicle noise. Quiet, very pleasant & relaxing atmosphere and there are some nice restaurants to stop by.

Nestled in the stunning Khao Sok National Park, Thailand, Tan Rua Waterfall is a serene oasis hidden amidst towering limestone cliffs and lush jungle foliage. A leisurely stroll from Mae Nam Viewpoint leads to this picturesque cascade, where visitors can marvel at the water tumbling through verdant greenery. The area offers opportunities for both adventure and relaxation, with rocky terrain leading to additional sections of the falls and nearby attractions like local restaurants.
I love it here and spent 4 hours here relax. Thought the waters fall 1 is small but they were barely anyone there. Took 10 min to walk down to water fall 1. Can relax at the Restaurant with a proper toilet provided there. Good vibe good view good environment
Khor J — Google review
Quite short but tricky, rocky steps from the scenic Treebridge Cafe / zipline place (from above). Not as much water as expected for some waterfalls; but, an enjoyable quiet spot in nature and serenity. Trek with caution and care on the rocky, irregular tracks here.
Wunda S — Google review
Nice beauty waterfall, we went here in the morning and there was only us, so we took the opportunity and took a bath 😍 There is a place you can buy drinks, also fresh toilets.
Sebastian T — Google review
Worth a visit! We went to Waterfall 1, about a 10 min track walk from Tree Bridge cafe, a bit slippery in places but there’s ropes to hold onto and we managed with brave 3 and 4 year olds. Some pools at the base to wade/cool off in :)
Danielle — Google review
Well maintained hiking trails to this lovely waterfall, both a low & high route, easy to follow. The access road is quite steep at times. We took our car but most visitors use a scooter. We really enjoyed our hiking time & enjoyed some drinks afterwards at the Tree House. A couple used the Zip Line while we were there & appeared to have fun. Nice spot overall.
Gerry S — Google review
We visited the waterfall in July 2024, there wasn't too much of a waterfall to see, but nevertheless a small pool was there to enjoy, but one to sit in, not to swim. You have to go through the tree bridge coffee to reach the waterfall, where you can also find toilets. After you crossed it, there are signs to waterfall 1 and 2. Turn left to waterfall 1 to reach the places where my photos are taken. Waterfall 2 was almost dry at our visit, maybe because it didn't rain a lot and because the water is drained by the tree bridge bridge coffee. A plus is, that it has good reachability with the scooter, the road to the waterfall is pretty steep though so bring a scooter with enough horses to power through. We had a 160 cc one which had absolutely no issues with two people on it. You can drive up to the tree bridge coffee café and walk from there. It's about 7 minutes. It is still a nice place to visit, you can see the beautiful view in the photos, but the waterfall itself is overshadowed by the tree bridge coffee with the high rope course they've built. The café is beautiful, but of course, built and priced for tourists.
Uberkinger D — Google review
Fabulous place! All for free - we sat at the bar at the top of the viewpoint on these comfy swing seats for free, it was amazing (photos attached!) There are 2 waterfalls there, the first one would be difficult for young children & those with accessibility issues as you have to hold on to rope to get up and down & unsteady ground - WEAR GOOD SHOES NOT FLIP FLOPS, ETC! Zipline was 1200 baht per person for 4 turns. I didn’t do it personally due to the price but everyone else seemed to enjoy throughly! Deffo recommend!!
Becca S — Google review
Worth the trip. My family and I tried to drive our rented Tuk Tuk up the mountain to this place we got within a 20 min walk and parked it. Then walked straight up hill to the Tree Bridge Coffee and on to the waterfall. The cafe is nice with Great views. The waterfall is a short steep hike downhill from the Cafe. There is a small swimming hole at the bottom of the waterfall for swimming.

Fisherman's Village Night Market is a vibrant hub of culinary delights and local culture, perfect for those looking to indulge in an authentic experience. As the sun sets, the market comes alive with stalls offering a variety of delicious street food that showcases the region's flavors. From fresh seafood to tantalizing desserts, there's something for every palate. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by local artisans showcasing their crafts, making it not just a place to eat but also to shop and soak in the unique ambiance.
This place is even worth the visit during day time. It's so nice to walk around with all these charming little restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Amazing places with sea view for massage as well worth paying a little bit more for the experience. Looking forward to go this evening and see it all but yeah definitely a must visit spot on Ko Samui.
Krasimira V — Google review
The souvenirs at the night market are a bit of a tourist trap but the food is absolutely top-notch and very affordable. We just wanted to keep eating, everything was so good. Do note that it doesn't run every day so make sure you check in advance to avoid disappointment.
Rory A — Google review
A lively and popular night market with a wide variety of food and souvenir stalls. This market offers a vibrant atmosphere and a great selection of local dishes and souvenirs, making it a pleasant place to explore during an evening on Koh Samui. It is quite popular among visitors, so it can get busy around 6:30 p.m. Those interested in a more traditional Thai street food experience may wish to explore some of the smaller local markets as well. Overall, it’s an enjoyable stop for anyone wanting to experience the island’s lively night market scene.
Maximilian I — Google review
This continues to be the best night market in Samui. There’s an incredible variety of food stalls offering everything from authentic Thai dishes to international favourites. We’re always drawn to the banana cakes, they’re absolutely delicious and this time we also loved the chicken wraps from the vendor next to the central seating area. Any of the Pad Thai stalls are a safe bet too. We skipped the sushi and cocktails due to past experiences, but plenty of other visitors seemed to be enjoying them. We took some time to sit in the centre and enjoy the beatboxer’s performance, he’s genuinely talented and well worth giving a small tip. After eating, we wandered around the market stalls. There’s something for everyone, and the sellers are generally open to friendly price negotiations, as long as you’re polite. We picked up a bag last night, and the bargaining was done respectfully, leaving both sides happy. If you’re in Samui, this market is a must-visit. Come hungry, enjoy the entertainment, and take your time exploring.

The Fisherman’s Village Night Market in Bophut, Koh Samui, is an absolute must-visit and one of the highlights of the island. The atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed, with a perfect mix of local charm and international flair. Strolling through the lively streets lined with market stalls, you’ll find everything from handcrafted souvenirs, clothing, and jewelry to mouthwatering Thai street food and fresh seafood. The food choices are outstanding – from sizzling skewers and traditional pad Thai to fresh coconut ice cream and tropical cocktails, there’s something to please every palate. The beachfront setting adds to the experience, as you can enjoy your meal or drink with a view of the ocean and stunning sunset. What makes this market special is its welcoming energy – live music, friendly vendors, and the buzz of both locals and travelers create an unforgettable atmosphere. It’s not just a shopping spot but a place to soak in the culture, enjoy great food, and spend a memorable evening. If you’re in Koh Samui, the Fisherman’s Village Night Market is an experience you shouldn’t miss – perfect for dining, shopping, and simply enjoying the island vibe.

Samui Water Park

Mentioned on
2 lists
Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Park
Samui Water Park, also known as the Pink Elephant Samui Water Park, is a beloved attraction in Koh Samui. It's conveniently located near the main Samui ring road and offers a delightful experience for families and children. The park features an array of high-speed rides and 15 slides, including exciting options like a twister and Super Bowl. Visitors can also enjoy a lazy river with inner tubes and grab a bite at the open-air eatery on-site.
Went in Jun, the park was almost empty and we thought it was closed! I think there were around 6 families throughout the day. We stayed whole day from 11am to 5pm. Entrance fee was 1250baht per adult. Kids height 130cm and below would be cheaper. The slides were clean and water was also generally clean. Just slightly more leaves and dirt on the lazy river water. The slides attendants were attentive. Whenever we went up the stairs to play the slides, they would make sure someone would station there. Wave pool was a hit with the kids. They spent a lot of time there. Food at the park was nice. Even the ice blended coffee was good. Towels are for sale, so be sure to bring your own towels.
Janet T — Google review
Great place to have a change on Samui. Very well kept and maintained. There generally isn’t a lot of people so very relaxing. Kids loved all the rides and you felt comfortable as there is plenty of life guards around.
Paul L — Google review
This place was closed several days during our vacation with a sign on the door stating that they were having some maintenance going on. We wait to go back again today (01/08/2025) and they change the sign saying they will open soon… not sure when that’s going to happen. Nobody answered the phone and nothing about this maintenance working is announced on the website or this business profile. That’s a pity!
Karla I — Google review
A great find in Koh Samui! Although this aquapark is on the smaller side, that actually turns out to be its biggest advantage — there’s no waiting in line for the slides! You can enjoy ride after ride without wasting time, which makes the whole experience much more fun and relaxed. It’s also excellent value for money, especially compared to larger parks where you spend more time queueing than sliding. Perfect for families and anyone who just wants to have fun without the crowds.
Maciej G — Google review
Nice water park overall. Clean and tidy. The crew is helpful and kind. The jacuzzi doesn't work. I enjoyed mainly becuase there weren't many people. But it's basically an average water park. Only two slides are good for an adult. Can be perfect for childern and teenagers though.
Hen C — Google review
We visited the water park in July and had an amazing experience! The park is super clean, well maintained, and perfect for families. The staff were kind, friendly, and really supportive with the kids whenever needed. We spent the whole day there with children aged 3 to 9 and they all had a fantastic time. There’s also a lovely sandy playground that added to the fun. Highly recommended for a full day of family adventure!
Paz V — Google review
This old water park is really overpriced. Even so, I decided to pay because I just wanted to enjoy the day with my kids. They list separate prices for adults and children, which makes it seem fair — but in reality, the child ticket my kids got didn’t allow them to use the big slides at all. The sign even says the price is based on height, but that didn’t make any sense either. I honestly don’t understand why they post the sign that way. Also, there are very few attractions inside. So if you plan to come here, make sure you check everything carefully before paying.
Kara C — Google review
This is a complex review as I think you have to account for whether value is achieved. Yes, it is expensive (1,250 for an adult ticket) but this means that there are no queues and every ride is easily accessible and available. Whilst the restaurant is nothing amazing, they make every effort to produce everyone’s food simultaneously and it is decent fare. The lazy river is pretty solid and the kids area is engaging for a range of ages. The price is really the only negative but it does create the accessibility to all rides. My suggestion would be to get there early and to stay until closing to achieve the best value. The park is well located within palm trees so it is easy to grab a sun lounger or five and enjoy the weather.

Nathon Pier

Boat ramp
Nathon Pier is a major ferry terminal located in the northwest of Koh Samui. The pier is surrounded by shops and food stalls, offering convenience to travelers. Visitors can embark on luxury cruises from Seatrans Discovery Yacht, which includes activities like kayaking, snorkeling, and enjoying an international buffet lunch while cruising towards attractions like Koh Tai Plow and Koh Mae Koh.
We walk around the pier looking for massage parlor and found one which is clean and the masseurs skills are good. Price quite steep compare to Laemchang, but it's still worth spending. The area is safe and after 3pm, there is a food street near the pier
Christina C — Google review
This small pier is well-organized and traveler-friendly, featuring essential amenities for convenience and comfort. There are dedicated ticket offices for ferry services, including Lomprayah, as well as a tour counter and a currency exchange booth. The area is clean and sheltered, with a spacious waiting area and available seating for passengers. Additional facilities such as a toilet are present, making it a practical stop for those traveling to nearby islands. The overall atmosphere is open, bright, and efficient, providing a smooth experience for visitors.
Olenka S — Google review
The ferries here go to a number of islands besides Samui. When boarding, passengers must alight and and walk while the driver and vehicle go in separate from the passengers. Passengers must ensure you board at the correct time otherwise you will be in a different ferry from your vehicle. This happened to my group and our driver was frantically looking for us in the ferry. We boarded a ferry that left half an hour earlier.

We came to Koh Samui from Surat Thani by ferry. It is very nice to travel by ferry and its convenience is also very nice. If you are coming by ferry, then you can sit on the terrace and the sea that is visible in the top view is very beautiful.

The pier has a walkway down both sides covering the full length. Good views on the walk. The water is quite clear so you can watch the fish swimming as you are walking along. Loads of taxis waiting if needed.

Only place which connects you to mainland via ferry. I came from Surat Thani. Clean and good vibe. You can get that Koh Samui Tuk Tuk (suv with two bench on the back) to drop you to your hotel if you looking for cheaper travel or you can hire a cab via grab ;from here. There are a couple of food market near by, one is just outside which starts in the evening. Very cheap and good fresh food. Other one may be 10 minutes walk from here . Larger market.

Wat Phu Khao Thong is a hidden gem on the island of Samui, offering a serene escape from the bustling tourist spots. This local temple boasts beautifully maintained grounds adorned with traditional Buddhist architecture, making it an ideal place for contemplation and relaxation. As you wander through its peaceful pathways, you'll encounter friendly cats and playful soi dogs that add to the charm of this tranquil setting. The atmosphere here is calm and inviting, perfect for those seeking solace away from crowded attractions.
My favorite temple on Samui. It is a local but active temple. Can't say why this temple, which has beautiful grounds but there are others like it, captured me. Many cats, chill soi dogs. Local people. An elder monk who I couldn't communicate with because of our language differences, but just with hands and smiles we greeted each other. Great place to chill under shades of trees and contemplate.

This is not a touristy Temple / Wat.... the grounds are quiet pleasant to wander through. New addition at the entrance has been erected in the last while. Not a "must see" but if in the area of Soi 4 Maenam it's probably worth a small amount of time. Short walk or ride from the traffic lights, inland.

Nestled near the beach, the Chinese Temple stands as a stunning example of traditional Chinese architecture and serves as a serene place for worship and contemplation. The journey to this hidden gem is an adventure in itself; many travelers stumble upon it while exploring off-the-beaten-path routes, often finding themselves alone on the final stretch surrounded by lush jungle.
A nice place to visit a colorful Chinese temple in Nathon. It is somewhat hidden in the greenery and it was not easy to find him with Google Maps As everywhere, only narrow streets... we go by our car 🚙. Apart from us, there were no interested tourists there. If you like temples, you can make a short stop there... we liked the many colors and figures at this temple. 😊

(Translated by Google) I discovered this temple completely by accident. There is an ambulance station nearby, there are few buildings around and a lot of jungle. Absolutely out of place, practically no information about this place on the Internet, and the temple is quite large and beautiful. There are six Chinese temples on the island: two in Nathon, one each in Maenam, Hua Thanon, Taling Ngame and Chaweng. All of them appeared on the map based on my tip. If you are interested in learning about the rest, go to the VK or FB group “Normal Samui”, I will answer there. The Samui Sheep Farm & Salad Bar is a delightful destination suitable for visitors of all ages. The farm features charming sheep and rabbits, along with play areas for children and a cozy cafe for adults. Additionally, it houses an in-house restaurant offering fresh salads and other healthy delicacies. Accessible by taxi, this attraction is perfect for families looking to spend quality time together.
Great place to take young kids! Sheep and old goats are friendly! Also one of several hydroponic farms on Samui.

We visited the park today, but it was very run down. Needs a bit of money spent in it to bring it up to a good standard. Especially on the sheep statues! The "Salad bar" was not open. The service was very poor from the Thai lady who we gave our entry money to. She grunted when we asked for a drink and walked away. No drinks avaliable or food fyi. However, well maintained grass and a bit of fun if you want to kill an hour with your kids! A real pity as has so much potential to be great!
Suzanne R — Google review
TERRIBLE! Awfull! This sheep farm is the worst place to come with children. We came here to feed sheeps and rabbits. 3 sheeps were walking in the garden. But when we bought carrot for then. One of them ( the biggest one) started to behave aggressively. She jumped on the chest of my husband ( he hold carrots) with her front hooves. Ok it's grown man. And if would be my 3 year old sun? Or me, holding up 1 year old daughter? Then sheep started to run and butt, and it was actual attack, not a game. 5 minutes I tried to cross the field with two children while sheep was running to my husband. Well what can I say? Stained t-shirt, frightenned child and bad mood it is the result of this trip. If the animal is so agressive it shouldn't walk near children.

Good place to take your kids for a day out, decent playground and some sheep, goats and rabbits.

Treehouse

Resort hotel
Bar
Nestled on the beachfront in Maenam, Treehouse is a laid-back property featuring simple huts and vibrant bungalows. The casual atmosphere extends to its restaurant and bar, offering a wide array of delicious and healthy food options. From traditional Thai dishes to fresh Red Snapper Fish and an extensive selection of international cuisine, there's something for every palate. Guests can also indulge in refreshing cocktails and diverse starters while enjoying the serene ambiance.
We came at Treehouse for having breakfast and then we spent the rest of the morning at the beach right in front. We did not sleep in their bungalows, but would have liked to if only we had discovered it earlier. We found the smoothies there very refreshing and made with good quality fruit. The rice and banana bowl I found a bit too salty for my taste, I couldn't finish it. We decided to have a massage, since the service is offered in front of the beach and it was a good choice. The masseuses made us spend a very relaxing hour with a well done Thai massage.
Silvia F — Google review
We ate dinner at the restaurant one evening and had a very enjoyable time. My toddler particularly enjoyed the play area (slide / sand pit / swing). The good was deliciously and the cocktails went down very well while enjoying the view over the beach.
Kim W — Google review
Chillaxed old school setting with wide sorts of international and Thai menus as well as healthy and vegan / vegetarian options. Enjoyed myself a good khao soi gai, some berry smoothies and an espresso over a quiet afternoon. Beautiful spot to enjoy the beach from sunny noon to scenic dusk hours. PS, tracks leading to the premise is surprisingly deeper than expected, but it sure does feel like a track to a hidden gem.

Stunning bungalows on the beach. Really off the grid and comfy. The service was so kind! The restaurant was amazing. So many options (also vegetarian and vegan!). We ate almost everyday for breakfast and dinner. Nice atmosphere and good value

🌴 Relaxed spot by the beach — review for the beach bar only! 🌴 I haven’t stayed at Treehouse, so this review is only about their beach bar. I went for a meeting and was pleasantly surprised! From the outside, you can hardly see it — so make sure to check Google Maps to find it easily. Once you walk in, it’s really cozy, with lots of tables close together but a nice, laid-back atmosphere. It was a Sunday afternoon, and people were swimming and relaxing, so it seems you’re welcome to swim and enjoy a drink or food. I only had a shake (cacao, avocado, blueberry, chia seeds — I think!) and it was delicious and gave me so much energy. Next time, I’ll definitely come back without a meeting and try the food — it looked tasty and fresh. The staff were very kind and friendly too. Definitely a nice hidden spot to chill by the beach!
Meant B — Google review
We had a beautiful sea view cabin. The place is amazing and everyone is really friendly, they can arrange everything for you. The food at the restaurant was also incredible, botj Thai Food and the Treehouse wrap!
Roel S — Google review
We only visited for having a breakfast. The wrap we had was very good and they have the great atmosphere. The location is perfect to relax since the restaurant is located right in front of the beach. It's like a little hidden place to be, we enjoyed our breakfast :)
Lina A — Google review
Love the old school Thai vibes and the food is great, very reasonable price. A creative little quiet place , just how it used to be. A comfortable bed , not luxurious but it's all you need. Simple comforts with the sound of the ocean. Very peaceful.

Pepenero Koh Samui

Italian restaurant
Charcuterie
Pepenero Koh Samui is a popular Italian restaurant located in Chaweng, offering an exclusive and cosy atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is known for its authentic Italian delicacies, including classic Bruschetta, pasta dishes, and a selection of high-quality desserts. Guests can also enjoy a variety of Italian wines to complement their meals. The passionate owners and service-oriented staff ensure that visitors have a memorable dining experience at this welcoming location.
We had walked past this place a few days ago and hadn’t thought much of it but it came recommended to us. Tonight we went for a family meal and it was amazing! The food was beautiful, tasty & cooked to perfection. If you’re looking for a good wine selection this this is the place to go to. The owner of the restaurant was very charismatic and talked us through the dishes. The decor is exactly what you would expect from a nice Italian restaurant and the menu has some funny pointers regarding Italian cuisine and culture. There were a few songs that were played to make us laugh and cheer which we all did and at the end of the night, the owner drove us back to our villa as a huge storm had hit. Extremely thankful and how can you top that level of service? Thank you again to everyone at Pepenero for making our last meal in Koh Samui an amazing one 😊
Rebecca K — Google review
Absolutely delicious food and fabulous service at Pepenero. I took the mushroom pasta and it was delicious. Even a simple fresh salad was seasoned and presented perfectly, it’s hard to get excited about a green salad, but I was. Cool interior and brilliant service.
Jet_Set_Gypsea — Google review
Authentic, personal and passionate, warm customer service. Incredible owners and chef who took such good care of us. Super real Italian food with such fresh ingredients. Decent wine list too, and well priced dishes.
Julian S — Google review
EDITED: I am honestly shocked that the owner threatened to report us for leaving an honest review, calling it defamation. What I wrote was based on my real experience after dining here I became very sick, with stomach pain and vomiting for three days. I shared this so that others can be aware, because food safety should always come first. I would never have left such a review if the manager had cared for us properly. We returned almost all of our food after only trying a few bites of everything, there I realised that the food is not good. no effort was made from the manager to replace the dishes or to reduce anything from the bill. A professional response would have been to take customer feedback seriously, not to intimidate guests who speak about their genuine experience! We came here with very high expectations after it was recommended to us and it turned out to be the worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had. Food quality: Absolutely unacceptable. The tuna tartare was tasteless and watery, the steak was inedible, and the beef tartare was honestly disgusting. The salad was equally bad. We couldn’t eat anything and actually left hungry. We genuinely felt that eating this food could cause food poisoning. Service: The waiter/manager showed no care at all. When we tried to share our concerns, there was no interest, no effort to make things right, not even the most basic gesture like offering to exchange a dish. Value: For this terrible experience, we paid 6,000 THB, which is outrageous for the quality and service we received. We live in Dubai, we travel a lot, This restaurant was beyond disappointing and completely unsafe in our opinion. 👉 We absolutely do NOT recommend this place. Save your money, avoid the risk of food poisoning, and choose anywhere else.
Ad B — Google review
Nice, intimate Italian restaurant right on the ring road just opposite the tracks leading to W hotel, and it's well worth a try. The food was superb. Started with the beef tartare and enjoyed thoroughly their lasagna, spaghetti carbonara, fettucine of porcini mushrooms and a tuna steak. Unlike common western dinners, we shared the dishes to get a taste of everything - and able to confirm all the dishes are so well made and prepared nicely. Service was friendly and attentive from all staff, and the restaurant manager couldnt do more to accommodate. I especially like his thoughtful recommendations to best enjoy the dinner with a variety of different dishes. For desserts, the tiramisu and torrone were enjoyable as well. The prices are above average, but the quality experience nicely reflects it. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Koh Samui and looking to dine at nice Italian restaurants with attention to quality.
Wunda S — Google review
Brilliant Italian place owned and run by experienced Italian restaurateurs and Chefs. Great selection of real Italian pasta classics, made properly, wonderful fish and meat, fresh and delicious. The comprehensive wine list includes many regional Italian wines and bubbles even Franciacorta! Yummy yummy. We highly recommended that you visit. We will be back.

Excellent service by the manager and also staff. Greeted well and got to choose where we wanted to sit. We got drenched on the way to the restaurant due to heavy rain but the manager still accepted us. Everything was amazing and tasteful.

Great atmosphere for a great dinner. Everything we have tried has always been of a high standard. High quality, tasty, beautiful! The chef is always on top! Many options for vegetarians, the chef can also customize the dish, especially for you. Highly recommend the eggplant bruschetta!

Restaurant
Ristorante&Pizzeria Da Bardo is a charming Italian restaurant and pizzeria nestled in Mae Nam, offering an intimate dining experience with only a few seats available. The owner, Alan, takes great care in preparing the more than twenty varieties of pizza on offer, ensuring that each one is heavenly in taste. This tropical-themed dining spot exudes energy and passion for authentic Italian pizza.
Very nice relaxing environment. The food is giant. The pizza sauce was tasty, the best part of the pizza. The service was fairly fast. It is very authentic; the worker is Italian and came to introduce himself. Very friendly, hard working people. They even have a specials menu on a separate card. It is a little more expensive then others in the area, but the portions are American sized.

I was looking for authentic Italian pizza and was recommended this restaurant. I couldn't have chosen a better place to taste original Italian pizza, which is so fresh, crispy and delicious that you will want to have another slice... The chef and owner of the restaurant cooks everything himself and adds his Italian charm, joie de vivre and passion to create the perfect atmosphere that will make you feel like you are in the middle of a square in one of the streets of Italy. We will definitely come back here again and again.
Timea I — Google review
Just ate here and had an awesome time. We were craving pizza and saw online that the pizza is made in a pizza over. Great! Sign me up. My boyfriend and I split a margarita pizza and salad which was filling for us both. We also got a half litter of white wine. Everything was great. The chef, who is from Italy, told us that he imports everything. The accompaniments for the pizza were awesome and more than we get in Italy or the US: chili oil, olive oil, vinegar, balsamic glaze, dried oregano, salt, pepper, and chili flakes! If you want pizza with a thin flaky crust and fresh ingredients, vieni qui!

We really love this pizzeria! We come here often — the pizza is delicious, the desserts and spaghetti are also great. The presentation is impressive, and everything feels made with care and passion. The owner is very kind and clearly puts a lot of heart into the place, which creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely one of the best spots on the island for Italian food lovers!

Some of the best food we’ve had on our travels! The duck breast, the steak and the chicken were superb, and the presentation was lovely! You feel like you are having dinner in someone’s garden, but with welcoming atmosphere and tranquility. Don’t be discouraged if you can’t find it at first as it’s really hidden away from the main road. Have a taxi take you there!

Nice restaurant , with a unique style . Quiet place , feel good . Dishes are frenchy style , yummy with good portions . Wines also great value , reasonable prices . A place to discover
Sabai G — Google review
Exceptional experience to recommend to anyone who loves French cuisine. The setting is subdued and intimate, ideal for spending a successful time with the people you love. The menu is varied, with very fresh products and mainly French-inspired dishes. I was spoiled by a multi-lane menu, statistically multiplying the risk of missteps, but nothing came of it. I would rate the dining experience as perfect, as was the service by the way, and I will definitely be returning there on my next visit to koh samui. I highly recommend it !

WOW!! Absolutely amazing!! Me & my fiancé came here last week and what can I say!! We used google maps to find the location (you will not find it without) We were a little nervous as we were the only people at the restaurant however it was an amazing find! Welcomed by the owner he explained the whole menu in depth to us with his recommendations. He was very thoughtful and alway around when we needed something!! We had a 3 course meal & 2 drinks each and the price was amazing!! Honestly a beautiful little gem in Koh Samui and somewhere you MUST visit!!

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here yesterday. Friendly owners who took the time to discuss with us, good service and good food, what else could we need ? I advise you call and book ahead as the restaurant cannot accommodate hundreds of people per day (I guess maybe around 20 per evening ?) and they are quite famous. I recommend !!!
Matthias200587 — Google review
How does one begin rating this place? Do we talk about the cosy atmosphere? Or should we wax eloquent about the amazing hosts - Magali and Patrice - who warmly recommended the best dishes on the menu, stopped over to chat about their life back in France and in Thailand!? Or should we merely stop with expressing how delectable each of the dishes were? From the starter platter to the French wine and potato au gratin sides - everything we ordered was delicious! The roasted goat cheese with cranberry salad combined smoky, sweet and pungent tastes to bring forth a salad that was out of the world. The Ratatouille was flavoursome with the Provencal herbs combining well with the rich tomato sauce. The food not just validates the great reviews you hear about the place but also indicates how passionate the couple is about cooking and running an authentic French experience. The decor is eclectic with bright upholstery and paintings, and a smattering of rustic garden chairs. They have modelled the place on a more casual home environment rather than a restaurant so that you feel snug throughout. Overall - go to this place for a nice romantic evening spiced by exquisite French cuisine.

A fantastic French cuisine you could hardly find in Koh Samui, if not Thailand! The place is cosy and homely. The atmosphere both indoor and outdoor are very romantic. The food is very authentic and unique. Both restauranteurs (Magali and Patrice) are very hospitable. Would definitely give it a five star for French cuisine lovers! I could only manage to take some photos under very dimmed light condition so please bear with my photos.

Everything was delicious. We had fried prawns and chicken skewers as a starter, so good! As main courses we had the sea bass (only 380 baht!) in lime sauce and a special massaman curry. So tasty. The staff was so nice, very friendly. This is a must try. Best food in Samui.

One of the best restaurants in this area - although it is located near the busy main street it is very cosy. The owners have a very good sense for good design. Best Pad Thai in Samui We discovered this gem of a restaurant on our second night at a nearby hotel and had dinner 4 nights in a row. The best Thai food we have had so far including high end Thai in Bangkok. Service was excellent and Mimi (along with all the team) deserves the biggest thank you - super friendly up for a chat and a laugh and makes a mean drink as well. Feel Travel provided a customized day-tour in Koh Samui and the Philippines. The tour was well-planned, including activities like snorkeling and visiting Pig Island via a long tail boat. They also offered delicious Thai cuisine. Aom, the driver and guide for the day, was friendly, fluent in English, helpful, and provided interesting insights. Overall, booking a tour with Feel Travel is highly recommended.
You can't miss this absolute treasure! We went on the island hopping tour and it was perfect. So glad to be in a small group. The BBQ location was especially dreamy. Philip and his team speak (at least) fluent English, German and Thai. We ate in the restaurant too, and again, perfect. Highlight of our trip. You won't regret choosing Feel Travel !

Amazing! The first time all the reviews on Google were actually right. This is the best Thai food we had since we came to Thailand, and we tried a lot! Tom yum soup from the heavens! Highly recommended! Pineapple fried rice, so deliscious. Chicken satay the best one we had. The most perfect mango with sticky rice. Affordable prices, HUGE portions, great and friendly staff! I'd gave it 6 stars!
Đorđe Đ — Google review
Very delicious Thai food and good service. A lot of German people visit this place due to the German owner but I recommend it also for non German guests. On the same place you will find the possibility to book tours, which are highly positiv rated on TripAdvisor.
Tobias K — Google review
We stayed in the area for a couple weeks and this was our favorite restaurant time and time again. The flavors are spot on and the portions very generous! The chicken satay is a must try, as well as the Phad Thai. Don’t pass this place up.
Tianna H — Google review
You might be confused on why this place has almost a perfect rating. We came in wary, but the restaurant definitely deserves it. Portions are absolutely humongous with very fair prices. The portion size isn't the only good thing about this. The green curry is very creamy, and you can actually feel the spice in it. The pineapple fried rice is also very good. The rice comes in a carved out pineapple and is cooked to perfection. If you're around the area, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Be warned, if you have a small appetite, consider sharing a dish.

This is one of the best restaurants we have been to in Thailand 🇹🇭 and I base this purely on taste, service and value for money. The service is attentive without being pushy the food is fresh and perfectly prepared whether your having a snack or something for lunch or a two course dinner. I’ve read reviews saying it’s expensive, to me it great value for money for freshly cooked food. If you want cheaper food it’s available along the beach that’s fine, we have done this also, but if you want something a bit special here is the place. 😀

This place is just perfect… the atmosphere is fancy and chill, the live music definitely adds to the cool vibes. The food is INCREDIBLE, the best we had in Thailand so far, we tried the wagyu steak ( absolutely amazing, must try!!), lasagna and sea bass, everything was fresh, hot and simply delicious!! And their meat is Halal which caters to the Muslim community. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming, the service was fast and very attentive to details. 100% recommended!!

One rainy Saturday evening, we chose this restaurant for dinner and were warmly welcomed. The service was excellent, and our attentive Thai waiter took our order, ensuring the spice level matched our preference—a thoughtful touch. My dish arrived exactly as requested, which I truly appreciated. Shortly after, the owner introduced himself, and we had a delightful conversation that made our experience even more enjoyable. Just 10 minutes after our wine was served, our appetizers arrived, followed by the main courses. I ordered crab curry, prepared exactly as I wanted—not spicy at all. The portion was very generous, and I couldn’t even finish it. Live music added to the romantic and pleasant atmosphere❤️ Overall, we were delighted by the food and warm ambiance. We can’t wait to return and try more dishes. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We had 2 beautiful dinners at this place. Besides good food and decent wine, we also had lovely conversations with the owners. They’re very nice people and made sure that we felt comfortable all throughout. The staff was very nice and very accommodating to us as well. The prices were a bit on the high end, but the meat and sides were pretty high quality too. We will definitely come back in the future!

We had amazing night as couple. High quality italian resturant. We talked with owner ( Italian) and his wife and they were very nice. The staff was also kind and made sure we are satisfied. We enjoyed every dish we taste and the wine was tasty. In addition there was an amazing singer which performed that contribute to the lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. The average desserts didn’t take away from the overall experience. I will come back!

Absolutely excellent. Everything we order was elevated and amazing. Chicken ceaser salad. Beef short ribs. Schnitzel. Pesto Gnocchi . Scallops in vodka sauce. We are coming back here during our visit!

Lovely and beautifully decorated restaurant. Food was super tasty, quickly prepared, and the staff is very kind and efficient. The owners take personal care that everything runs smoothly and that customers are happy. There was a live music performance the day we went, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We went one more time for lunch and had probably one of the best tenderloins I've tried in a very long time. Also the eggplant parmigiano and the ravioli with truffles are delicious. Long story short, wholeheartedly recommended.

Very nice restaurant owned by couple of Italian and Russian. Super friendly and welcoming to everyone, both owners made sure to stop at each table and get to know their guests in person. They have a great choice of both Western and Thai dishes, done very well. And as a cherry on top you have live music with really good singing every evening. If you feel like it, you can also swim in their pool. Highly recommend!

Samui Airport

International airport
Airport
Samui Airport is a charming island airport with a tropical ambiance, featuring thatched roofs and open-air design. The airport boasts lush gardens and trees, creating a unique and pleasant setting reminiscent of a resort. Visitors can enjoy browsing through lovely shops offering local treats like Kalamare, while also having access to snacks, soft drinks, coffee, and water provided by Bangkok Airways. The service is commendable, making it feel like more than just an airport.
Koh Samui is a stunning island, and its airport truly feels like a crown jewel – one of the most beautiful and comforting airports I’ve ever visited. Forget the usual sterile lounges and generic terminals. Here, you’re welcomed by open-air parks, breezy canopies instead of enclosed halls, and charming market-style shops in place of sprawling duty-free zones. The moment you land, you’re greeted with lush greenery, Thai-style huts, and even a large Buddha statue next to the runway — a serene, almost cinematic welcome. The airport staff is incredibly warm and helpful, adding to the whole laid-back, island vibe (then again, almost everyone in Thailand is wonderfully kind!). This isn’t just an airport; it’s a destination in itself. You’ll find bean bags, hammocks, lounge chairs, and the occasional shaded bench — creating a peaceful blend of comfort and nature. It’s the kind of place where you wouldn’t mind a delayed flight. ♿ Wheelchair Accessibility: The entire airport is on one level and fully wheelchair accessible. Whether you're arriving or departing, navigation is smooth and hassle-free. Even if you’re not flying, this is a space where you can park your car, sip fresh coconut water, and watch flights take off against a backdrop of palm trees. It’s surreal, calming, and refreshingly un-airport-like.

Koh Samui Airport (USM) is renowned for its unique, beautiful open-air, resort-like design, providing a relaxed and stress-free travel experience. The major benefit for flyers is that Bangkok Airways (PG) provides complimentary access to its Boutique Lounge for all economy class passengers. This free lounge access offers a comfortable escape and includes a good selection of free food and beverages, such as light snacks, sandwiches, pastries, dim sum, coffee, and soft drinks. This feature is widely considered a significant and highly valued perk, distinguishing the pre-flight experience at USM.

Unique experience. The airport is built to make passengers feel relaxed and comfortable (maybe except for the tiloilet facilities) - it gives you a resort-like feeling. It also has hundreds of shops with souvenirs, clothes, coffee shops, restaurants and offers complimentary drinks and snacks on at least some of the gates. Well done, Koh Samoi!!

I’ve never seen such a uniquely beautiful airport! It’s an open-air airport with stunning views and park-like areas to relax in. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to explore as well. The only downside is that it can get quite hot during the summer.

I mean for an island airport it’s pretty decent and fluid. A little delay here and there but nothing bad. was surprised by the easy flow of arriving and departing. The court yard areas outside and hang out areas are so cool for an airport. Really island life ! enough cool places and snacks and coffee shops to hold you over until your flight. Also all domestic so you do not have to be as worried about the pressure of arriving insanely early. an hour is more than enough.

One of the most beautiful airports I have visited. What shocked me (in a good way) the most, was the complementary food for everyone in the departure area. You would not ever see this in any European or American airports. Amazing customer service

A beautiful and pleasant airport with a tropical vibe. After going through the security check, they will take your water, but right after that there’s a great surprise – the self-service “Courtesy Corner” where everything is free. You can grab water, juices, coffee, popcorn, cookies, muffins, and pastries. There’s also a free charging station and the entire waiting area is nicely air-conditioned, which makes the wait very comfortable. Power banks and e-cigarettes are no problem – no one checks or takes them. The environment is clean, there’s comfortable seating, and the overall atmosphere is very relaxing. A perfect way to end your stay on the island. Highly recommended!

Surat Thani International Airport

International airport
Surat Thani International Airport is a great little airport that makes travel surprisingly easy. It’s small but very well organized, which means check-in, security, and baggage claim are all quick and stress-free compared to larger airports. For us, everything ran smoothly, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout the process. There are a few small shops and snack options, as well as places to grab a drink, so you can easily pick up something before your flight. While it doesn’t have the wide range of facilities of a big international hub, it has everything you need for a comfortable journey. Tips for visitors: If you’re connecting to the islands, check ahead for combined bus-and-ferry tickets from the airport — it makes the transfer seamless. The airport is compact, so you don’t need to arrive extremely early, but giving yourself a bit of extra time never hurts. Overall, Surat Thani International Airport is convenient, straightforward, and reliable — the kind of place that gets you where you’re going without unnecessary hassle.
Samuel — Google review
A small airport with basic amenities, including a few shops, small dining options, and charging stations for electronic devices. However, facilities are not as extensive as those at larger airports, particularly when it comes to airport lounges, which would add to the comfort for passengers. The airport’s operations are well-managed and efficient. The areas inside are well-maintained, with clean restrooms, and the seating area for boarding, with its four gates, is especially comfortable with strong air conditioning. However, since the airport is located around 20-30 kilometers from the city, public transport options to the city or nearby piers are limited. Passengers may find it more convenient to use a taxi, Grab, or rental car rather than relying on general public transportation.
TOngz N — Google review
Not the greatest small airport, but they do have several little cafes, coffee shops, snack shops, and plenty of bathrooms. There are stands available outside of baggage claim when you arrive to schedule taxis or buses/ferries to the islands from here. It takes over an hour on the bus to get to the pier for the ferry. I would definitely recommend scheduling your transfers in advance, especially during high season when buses and ferries can get over booked.
Mark P — Google review
It deserves it’s international status, the staff is friendly and understand English quite fairly. My Lion Air flight to Bangkok was an hour late though but nevertheless I kept myself busy walking around the stores in this fairly small airport
Lesego M — Google review
Not big and easy access with very clean. Not much restaurants for the waiting area. The new building is open but no cafeteria. Bus and car rental are in new building.

Surat Thani International Airport (URT), located about 21 kilometers west of Surat Thani city in southern Thailand, serves as a key gateway to the Gulf islands, including Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao. Primarily handling domestic flights—especially to Bangkok—it also accommodates some seasonal international services. The airport features a single terminal with basic facilities like restaurants, souvenir shops, ATMs, and limited Wi-Fi access, but lacks left-luggage services. Ground transportation includes buses and taxis to Surat Thani city, with fares ranging from 140 to 700 baht. It operates daily and is managed by Thailand’s Department of Airports. The best is car rental from airport

Compact size. Not too big, not too little. But clean and few restaurants available inside the terminal.
PAM N — Google review
It's a clean, cozy airport. It's small, but I think that it has most basic things you need.
