Palaty

Restaurant
Palaty is a popular restaurant in Kutaisi, Georgia, known for its outstanding service and wide variety of flavors. It's a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers an authentic dining experience with favorites like Toma's Wine Cellar and Baraka Delicatessen. Palaty is highly recommended for those looking to experience the best flavors around Kutaisi. Whether you're interested in European cuisine or vegetarian-friendly options, Palaty has something for everyone.
This was one of my favorite food experiences in Georgia. Meals were delicious and the price wasn’t steep. Be sure to ask about ingredients which you would like to avoid, I was quite surprised with the spices I got in my dish. Nevertheless, I went with the flow and it was awesome. Chocolate cake was a bit off from otherwise amazing food. Highly recommend the lemonade🫡

Super cozy restaurant with a really charming interior—especially the front area, which is beautifully decorated. Later in the evening, they also have live music, which adds a great vibe, though it can be a bit loud if you’re sitting close to the performers. The food is tasty—we had the meatballs, which were good, but nothing particularly new or special. If you’re in the mood to try something different, I’d recommend going for a more traditional Georgian dish. Service was okay.
D V — Google review
Really nice and tasty food on a cozy space. Prices are a bit above average but the at least everything was delicious. Fried chicken with walnut sauce was crispy, crunchy and creamy. Apple cake was served cold and had an amazing flavour! There was no live music when we went. Service could be improved, I had to flag the waiters a few times as they are standing on the corner . Amber wine a bit expensive for a glass (19 lari)
Sonia R — Google review
Service was prompt and efficient. Atmosphere was quiet. Went during off peak hour for an early dinner. Food too salty for liking, maybe we are not used to georgian cuisine.
Juhong O — Google review
A very homey spot! The ambiance gives off a cozy, lived-in feel — the notes and photos on the walls add a personal and welcoming touch. The food was decent, with authentic flavors and fair pricing. The staff were somewhat welcoming and hospitable, though it was hard to tell if they were just having a long day. Overall, a nice place to experience local charm.
Alfre M — Google review
Great service, natural and welcoming. Nice atmosphere, with piano music and lively chat. Fodd was great, huge choice od Georgian dishes, authentic and well prepared. We have different dishes and I had it couple more times in different restaurants so I can tell it was great. Good food and nice atmosphere, the best combination.
Sanja T — Google review
This restaurant seems to be quite popular in the Kutaisi Saturday dining scene. And maybe to reason - with cozy ambience and hipster touch. My experience was however suboptimal. After making a reservation, I got seated at 9:30pm, ordered. And waited. And waited. And waited. I asked and finally got my food around 10:30pm, exactly 1 hr after ordering. Was the food good? It was ok. Was it worth the hour long wait? Probably not. And, of course, the grand finale. It was around 11, I asked for the dessert menu (after eating my roughly 1hr late chicken). And of course, the kitchen is closed. No dessert for you. The waiter was at least nice enough to apologize.
Jerome U — Google review
Super great place to eat in Kutaisi. Mate made us feel at home from the beginning, not only for his friendliness but also for the fact that he could speak our language like a native and 7 more as well (impressive). The live music was just wonderful and the food and wine spectacular. Highly recommend for anyone visiting or living in Kutaisi!

Toma's Wine Cellar

Mentioned on

Family restaurant
When in Kutaisi, a visit to Toma's Wine Cellar is a must. This family restaurant offers excellent service and serves delicious homemade wines and chacha. There's no fixed menu; instead, you'll be treated to a dinner featuring the best seasonal ingredients available. The bill comes to around 50 lari per person, covering both food and drinks.
I had the pleasure of dining at Tomas Wine Cellar recently, and it was a fantastic experience. The traditional dishes were incredibly flavorful, highlighting the authentic tastes that represent the rich culinary traditions. Every plate was beautifully crafted and served, making the meal unforgettable. Moreover, the service was remarkably warm and inviting; the staff went out of their way to ensure we felt welcomed and looked after. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of an authentic dining experience!
Stefania V — Google review
As with other reviews, this place is top notch - wonderful family home hidden away off the street with incredible food and hospitality. 50 lari each for their set menu including wine and a bit of chacha (for appetite!), we left stuffed and full of admiration for the flavours of mamas cooking! Such a wonderful experience! Personal favourite of mine was the chicken with walnut sauce - not what I'd go for normally but it was so good!! We didn't book for lunch and arrived at 3pm on a Wednesday and we had the place to ourselves, but given the size I recommend booking during peak season.
Edd M — Google review
Dining at this place was a truly memorable experience. For just 50 lari per person, you’re treated to a set menu featuring a variety of delicious, home-cooked Georgian dishes, along with a jug of white wine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was quick and efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic Georgian dining experience!
Mei H — Google review
This place is a must-visit if you’re in Kutaisi! It’s an authentic spot with a very interesting concept — you come in and are served a fixed set of dishes and drinks. Our set included delicious homemade lemonade, white wine, water, a fresh vegetable salad, a beetroot salad, a mix of eggplant appetizers with walnut paste, homemade cheese and cheese spread, and traditional Georgian bread. For the main course, we had Mingrelian khachapuri, homemade sausages, and chicken in walnut sauce. Everything was incredibly tasty, and the portions were very generous! The price was 50 GEL per adult and 25 GEL per child.
Вероника В — Google review
Absolutely magical! Toma's Wine Cellar is a hidden gem in Kutaisi that captures the true heart and soul of Georgian hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed like family—with warmth, laughter, and a table overflowing with the most delicious homemade dishes you’ll ever taste. Every bite tells a story—perfectly baked khachapuri, tender meat, vibrant salad and freshly baked bread that’s still warm from the oven. And the wine? smooth, rich, and absolutely unforgettable. It’s more than just dinner—it’s an experience. You’ll laugh, you’ll toast with strangers who become friends. If you want to feel the real Georgia, you don’t just visit Toma’s—you live it. Don’t miss this place. Truly unforgettable.
Алина К — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Tomas Wine Cellar in Kutaisi. It was our best dining experience from the whole trip in Georgia. The food was delicious – fresh, flavorful, and made with care from family! The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the food and drinks - and the whole experience. The restaurant has a cosy, welcoming vibe. It’s run by an amazing family who treated us with genuine warmth and hospitality. The service was attentive and friendly. It’s more than just a place to eat – it’s a place to experience true Georgian hospitality. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kutaisi !! What an amazing experience!!
Angeliki E — Google review
Wow! What an experience. I really wasn’t expecting such a warm welcome, authentic ambiance and delicious food. Also I’m gluten free and they were able to cater the menu to me. But the genuinely friendly service was the highlight. Highly recommended!
Bevan B — Google review
They have a tasting menu which was adapted for a vegetarian (me), my husband and kids had the regular fare. Food was spectacular, wine lemonade and chacha great. And the hospitality was top notch. They open at 3. Best to call and go. A highly recommended experience. Things you should know: They don't have the standard menu from where you pick and choose. It's a fixed set testing menu, which is cooked by mama. Let them know your dietary restrictions and they will try their best to accommodate it. Portion sizes are very healthy... And if you have leftovers they're more than happy to pack it for you. The wine is homemade (I loved it) and they don't sell it Parking is available on the street, outside their home

Restaurant
Lilestan ლილესთან is a charming restaurant in Kutaisi that offers a delightful culinary experience, blending the rich flavors of Imeretian and Georgian cuisine with a modern twist. The venue boasts colorful decor and utensils, creating one of the coziest atmospheres in the city. Visitors can expect an aristocratic atmosphere, bohemian and vintage style environment, and attentive staff with genuine smiles.
Very nice and calm atmosphere (classic music 💔) with fancy-restaurant-design, but you’ll forget it all then you make a first bite. The food is juste AWESOME!!! So are the service and clients facilities. If you are not sure what to order, ask the waiters, they will be happy to suggest interesting dishes and wine. I highly recommend the pear dessert, that is mindblowing - i came again to taste this before we left Kutaisi.
Анастасия — Google review
The experience at this restaurant was absolutely perfect. The food was outstanding—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Mariam and Anna were exceptional, offering warm, professional, and attentive service that made the evening even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was enhanced by tasteful classical and ambient music, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed and memorable lunch experience. Highly recommended!
Tomo K — Google review
The best restaurant in town. Delicious Georgian food, authentic and super fresh. Good variety of vegetarian and other food. Very friendly service, attentive to detail and making sure the experience in the restaurant is a perfect one! No wonder did the receiver the prestigious „Table Originale“ award from Gault Millau in 21 and 22! So if you are in town and look for exceptionally good Georgian food this is the place to go.
Thomas K — Google review
we went there three times as we loved interior/ atmosphere and the food was amazing. waitresses are also nice, nia is exceptional. unfortunately we have pictures just from our second/ third visit but everything was very delicious. also good choice of wines.
Maja P — Google review
Firstly, we had to wait 50 minutes for our dishes, and the waitress never warned us that it would take so long. Secondly, to find her I had to look all around the restaurant and even go down to the kitchen to ask her to come to the table, even though there were only two other guests besides us. The food itself was tasty, but the soup was served in a large bowl with less than half of it filled. As a result, I didn’t feel full and had to go to another place to eat. I truly hope the restaurant will improve its service and pay more attention to portion sizes.
Nicole S — Google review
Delicious food with some really interesting items on the menu — a great mix of Georgian classics and a few creative twists, like salmon khinkali. We ordered khachapuri, ojakhuri, and the eggplant rolls — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and a special thank you to our waitress Nia for being so attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Daria A — Google review
We came here for a small lunch, and were very happy with the service. Our servers name was Mari. The food came in good time and was delicious. They did charge an 18% service fee, which feels somewhat excessive, but that's the only negative.
Matthew U — Google review
Cozy atmosphere, yet approaching the border of a "fine dining" experience. Classical music, fine cutlery and well presented, taste-refined dishes. We took two veal dishes (astaragon and pomegranate, both delicious and with a very tender meat) as well as a khachapuri. Everything tasted great, and our waitress for the evenening Nia added her touch to the experience, helping to choose the wine and making sure we didn't lack anything through the dinner. Definitely recommend the place, matter of fact we'll probably be going back tonight and add some pictures to the review! See you soon and thanks again for the nice dinner. (Additionnal good point is that altough slightly more expensive than other restaurants around, prices are very decent for such service and quality) Edit: here pictures from yesterday indeed, Kali (pomegranate sauced veal and cheesy purée, and surprise of the day was the garlic sauce from the chicken, absolument perfect. Add to that thr Pear Dessert and à local artisanal wine, and you have everything you nedd and more to e.joy a great evening)

European restaurant
Restaurant
Bar-restaurant Papavero is a popular dining spot in Kutaisi, Georgia, known for its European cuisine and grill dishes. Situated in the prestigious Balakhvani neighborhood along the Rioni riverside, it offers a delightful experience with its flavorful menu. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes while taking in the charming surroundings. Whether you're looking for an up-market hotel or a cozy guesthouse, this area has something to offer every traveler.
Don't skip this! Walked around city center to get an overview and shortlisted this location due to many locals and lovable atmosphere. Kebab was outstanding, Pizzas were really big and Wine and local lemonade (tarragon) surprised positively. Stop by and have a great time as we did for dinner! Very cozy, laid back and the garden/terrace feels like a hidden gem in Kutaisi :-) Will come back!

Just extraordinary! The decoration was beautiful, the menu very diverse and the food delicious. We ordered a lot and everything was tasty. Staff was also kind.
Navy M — Google review
This is a very nice restaurant in a quite central location in Kutaisi. They have a wide selection of local but also international food. Everything we ordered was delicious and nicely presented. We came for dinner when they had some lights on and also live music. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The only thing is its a bit expensive, but its definitely worth it
Fekete M — Google review
We spend there the whole evening We had great service. The food was amazing. The variety of the food is great and very friendly to kids. The atmosphere is electric. We got Servis from Luka. He is amazing.
גיא פ — Google review
It’s an absolutely beautiful restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the live music added a great touch, though it was a bit loud from where we were sitting. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kutaisi.
Clara S — Google review
The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the food is tasty. However, the service is very slow, and it’s difficult to get the staff’s attention — at times it felt like we were being deliberately ignored. Do not order desserts here! We ordered the Belgian waffle — big mistake. Not only did we wait a long time, but the waffle was completely dry, and even the ice cream on top couldn’t save it.
Liat L — Google review
- Food is nice - service is great and very welcoming - absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibes
Ahmed S — Google review
Papavero is the first restaurant we came to have lunch to when we visited Kutaisi in 2019. It's been open for a some time and got only better. Central location, Europan fusion cuisine, green decor, kids menu and in my opinion best salads and coffee in Kutaisi. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Stuff are young students who speak good English. Open 7 days a week. I personally love this place for lunch. Highly recommend.

The best restaurant in Kutaissi! Good meat, wonderful homemade wine (we drank white wine), khachapuri so delicious 😋 , price is good and staff was very friendly, highly recommended

It’s Georgian restaurant, We ordered chicken skewer, Meat with vegetables and Georgian salad. I think the restaurant's dishes are not halal because the test is unpalatable chicken skewer 1/5 Meat with vegetables 2/5 Georgian salad 2/5

the food is very tasty. portions are large

The best and biggest portions we've eaten i whole Georgia
Pilum M — Google review
We were surprised to visit the place rated 4.5 and to have the worst lunch ever…. The food is disgusting (over roasted and dry), we ordered several dish, tried a bit each of them but never touched them again. The staff had no questions to that, looked like they knew it was a disaster. When we said the food was disgusting, the old blond girl just thanked us…
Tatyana B — Google review
Amazing food for pretty good price👌
Reda B — Google review
Just normal. Quite tasty Georgian dishes, especially khachapuri. Good for visiting with group of people (up to ~8). Reasonable prices and helpful staff. P.S. but the most horrible beer I've ever drunk
Giorgi B — Google review
Soup was a senseless mix of few vegetables. Cheese as a dish did not deserve to be a dish. Service was very slow and careless/unpleasant. After 1 hour I learned that they forgot my chinkali. Card payment did not work. When I suggested to recompensate us with a free fruit they didn't care about our satisfaction. I fully feel that our visit was a 1 star experience. Even though the interior of the restaurant is OK.

Georgian restaurant
Georgian Cuisine 1870 is a beloved restaurant in Kutaisi, Georgia. The city itself is described as beautiful and radiant, with the restaurant located in a magnificent area. Despite the city's challenges, this eatery remains a special place for locals and visitors alike. The staff is praised for their excellent service and language skills, while the food is highlighted as delicious and of high quality.
Incredible live trio playing and singing enchanting Georgian folk music. I've been working in the music industry for more than 20 years now, but these three touched me directly in the heart. E x N x V you perform your repertoire so effortlessly, Keep on doing that, I wanna see you again. The food in this place is top shelf too. Good selection of wine, wonderful house wine, attentive service staff. The best overall experience in Kutaisi. A must try is the pkhlovani filled with beet tops, cheese and herbs.

One of the best restaurant i visited in kutaisi, delicious food , friendly staff and i am not even talking about view and atmosphere just beautifull , really recommend this place had so much fun and i am sure everyone will have❤️
AnimeQartulad 1 — Google review
Place was way too noisy and over-rated in my opinion. I ordered Khinkali or Georgian dumplings but I wasn't too impressed by the taste despite them being recommended. For dessert, I ordered an espresso and a strudel but the espresso came way before the strudel! In fact, it had been forgotten and I had to remind three waiters about it. At least I was given a new espresso when the strudel arrived.
Mark G — Google review
We had a great experience with the restaurant. I can say the best Georgian food I found in Kutaisi. The location is near the Best Western Hotel and white bridge. Accessible to all transportation. We ordered the best Imeritian Khachapuri, Mchadi on Ketsi, try the Kuchmachi, Chicken fajitas, Shaslik, and some red and white house wine. The food was excellent and the ambience was perfect. Staff can speak and understand English which is 👍 great. Good value for the price

This is my hometown and I love it very much. It is a beautiful, very radiant, and special city. It is hard to come to terms with the fact that people leave this city by the thousands every year because of a bad and poor life. This place of the city, where this lovely restaurant is located, is simply magnificent. On that day, the International Women's Day, it was very crowded there, but we all had a pleasant time. They cook tasty and quality food there. The staff is all youth. They are nice but not great professionals.

The restaurant has garnered positive reviews and is often recommended by travelers. Eldepo offers a great dining experience with a variety of traditional dishes to choose from. Located in the heart of Kutaisi, it's easily accessible for tourists exploring the city.
We kept on thinking about the food here our whole trip! I think it was the best meal we had on our 12 day tour of Georgia. Try everything! Waiting time was super long. If your order is not coming out make sure you check they haven’t forgotten it, it happened to us, but when the food finally arrived it was amazing!!! Best Khinkali, we also seem locals eating here, not only tourists.
Antoniette R — Google review
We stopped in for a late lunch and it was great! Lots of good Georgian food choices and the prices are very reasonable. All of the food was great, especially the beans - probably the best I've had in Georgia. I have read reviews of the staff being unfriendly, but this wasn't our experience. This place gets very busy and we saw some customers being unreasonable, so take those previous comments with a pinch of salt.
Paul A — Google review
To be honest, I can't rate their kitchen because they never bought us what we ordered. Just waited 40 minutes for our order, and they didn't give us anything except water and lobiani. You definitely should improve your service otherwise it's NOT recommended at all.
Roman R — Google review
The best khinkali I’ve ever had, hands down! With its thin, silky “town-style” dough, each bite bursts with an incredible amount of juicy soup. The filling is more refined than “mountain-style” khinkali, with spices and herbs adding a sophisticated, grown-up flavor. My top recommendation is the mushroom khinkali. The moment you bite in, the aroma of mushrooms gently blooms, and the broth floods your mouth with rich, savory goodness. It’s so satisfying that just 6 to 7 pieces will fill you right up.
ASUMI K — Google review
Very bad service! We ordered 15 khinkali, pork barbecue, beer and lemonade. They brought the barbecue, reminded the waiter about the beer, he brought one. Then they brought 5 khinkali, 5 more khinkali. And that was it. We wanted to order more khinkali, but we weren't full. In the end we were left without them, but they didn't forget to include anything in the bill and instead of a normal check, they wrote it by hand in Georgian (the translator didn't translate what they counted, but the price was much higher than planned). We left hungry, we won't come back.
Idel L — Google review
Local bar/pub/restaurant. They serve traditional food, the menu is not very extensive, but enough taking into account they serve food really late at night - it is a good option when you want to eat and any other places are closed.
Jose W — Google review
Nice local restaurant in the city center. Plenty of room, huge amount of locals, great chinkali. Service slow needs to be improved as this place has huge potential. Good choice of beers...
Sir_Bankster — Google review
I think the correct description would be Bar and not restaurant, because it mainly serves starters. Anyway the food was really good, we had beans (it was really tasty), salad and the famous kinkhali. At first we thought the kinkhali was thick but it was simply perfect. Juicy, tasty and fresh😍 totally recommend!

El Paso

Georgian restaurant
Kutaisi offers a variety of dining options, including Caffe El Paso and Palaty. Caffe El Paso is known for its Georgian cuisine and has received positive reviews for its food. The restaurant's decor is described as slightly more upscale than a typical cafe. Meanwhile, Palaty has also garnered praise for its offerings, with visitors enjoying the menu and overall dining experience. Both establishments are popular choices for those looking to explore the local culinary scene in Kutaisi.
Went for a late dinner, its a georgian cuisine restaurant so not many options on the menu for the food. Their ajaruli khachapuri was delicious. The pizza is really yummy and also ordered the potato cheese puffs which was also very good.
Heba G — Google review
1 | The restaurant with Georgian cuisine is located on the square near the Colchis Fountain. It's worth a visit for a taste of the local cuisine, but its quality loses out to Western standards. 2 | Adjarian khachapuri priced at 14.60 GEL was good, there was plenty of cheese and it was even in the edges. There was no shortage of egg and butter. The khachapuri satiates on its own. The pork barbecue at 10 GEL was disappointing for me, the meat was tough and not well seasoned. 3 | The prices were higher than what I was expecting at this place. However, it is possible to pay by card. 4 | The menu is available in English, however the staff did not speak English. Staff was diligent and friendly. 5 | The interior of the restaurant is traditional, it may look a bit outdated. There are over ten tables in several height levels for seating. 6 | I would recommend trying the Georgian Natakhtari lemonade with vanilla cream flavor once. The lemonade is terribly sweet and I honestly didn't like it much, but the flavor, popular in the former USSR countries, is at least worth a taste for its uniqueness.

Khinkali (meat and mushroom) super delicious. Fast service. The deep fried samosas are average. Toilet is clean. Visit: May, 2025

We tried the “Khachapuri Imeruli (Closed Cheese Pide) and Khachapuri Acharuli (Open Cheese Pide)” — both were absolutely delicious! If you’re a cheese lover, Khachapuri is definitely a must-try.

Extremely good! I couldn’t wait to eat and forgot to take a picture before we mixed the butter, egg and cheese together on the khachapuri. Definitely recommend! We’ve had beer, salad with tomatoes, cucumber and walnuts, khachapuri and lobio. Everything was perfect!

9th day of the month, already been to 4 restaurants include this and this was only bad service. I think tourists choose this bcoz of the location. But this isn’t really recommended locally, I would say, or to say tourists there are lots of better places in Kutaisi!!! The place I went last night was mucccccccch better like x100!!😂 If you wanna have a good memory of visiting Kutaisi, choose other place! Staffs educations, hospitality are none. Food menu is also pretty limited. If Khinkali, go the best Khinkali restaurant of Kutaisi, not this one!!
Michi ( — Google review
The place is not too bad, the food is ok but extremely fat. We asked the weither if the food we ordered was too much and he said he was the right quantity, but we were three adult man and half of the food we ordered was leftover. I did not like that.

Hacker-Pschorr Kutaisi is a popular German-themed restaurant in the city, known for serving German drinks alongside Georgian cuisine. It's renowned for its diverse range of khinkali, including meat, mushroom, cheese, and potato variations. The restaurant offers a wide variety of beer types and excellent service in a friendly atmosphere. Open 24 hours, it's a convenient spot for late-night cravings.
Hacker-Pschorr is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants we’ve tried in Georgia! If you’re visiting Kutaisi, this spot is a must-visit. Their traditional Georgian delicacies, especially the khachapuri, are a delight, and their Mexican potatoes are absolutely amazing—a must-try for anyone who loves great flavors. The restaurant stands out for its budget-friendly prices without compromising on food quality. It has a relaxed and chill vibe, perfect for enjoying a drink and conversation without the usual noise of bustling eateries. A special mention goes to our server, Nikko, who was incredibly professional, hospitable, and attentive, offering top-notch customer service that made our experience even better. Highly recommend Hacker-Pschorr for anyone in Kutaisi looking for a fantastic dining experience!

Had a stop on a very hot day. They don’t serve alcohol during lunch time. The iced coffee was good. Clean toilets and facilities.

Nice restaurant. Medium priced. Delicious food. Simple but very tasty menu. Just 2 kind of beers to choose. Service needs some improvement as we got our meals in 3 different times. 10% service charge added to the bill. It's still worth it to eat over there.

A great tourist bar in Kutaisi. The staff were very friendly. We stopped just for a beer, and it was good. They have a nice chilled outside area, and inside feels like a trendy cafe. Prices were about right for a tourist place and they have free wifi

It was the worst experience I’ve ever seen the worst service in all the world they late us waiting the food for 2hours and when we make complain about it they said if you don’t want to wait you can go

Food was ok. We were sitting outside and the waiters didn't pay much attention to us. Had to go inside a few times to ask something. The menu said 10% service charge will be added. When I got the check they already added 10% service charge to the total and the waiter still asked for a tip. When I told him about the service charge the waiter said 'he forgot' it was already added automatically.

Rude and extremely bad manager as well as extremely unorganised and unacceptable service. We were four ordered foods , my own meal which was Mexican Fajita was not eatable because chicken and beed stripes were undercooked the sauce which was supposed to be Mexican was very sweet! However the worse was when they brought one of our company meals 15 minutes after other 3 already finished the meal! and manager refused even to acknowledge. They brought Khinkhali very late while they served the same food for those local who arrived after us! Manager (young woman) came to throw the dish on our table and explained that’s Georgian way of serving! Saying: this is not Europe! Without any sense of remorse pr apologies. Quiet rude and arrogant!

Baraqa

$$$$affordable
Georgian restaurant
Baraqa is a popular restaurant located in central Kutaisi, near the famous Kolkhida fountain. It offers traditional Georgian dishes such as khachapuri, khinkali, kababi, and chkmeruli, as well as international options like Mexican-style potatoes, pizza, and sandwiches. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is friendly. The restaurant attracts a diverse crowd including tourists, locals, families, and couples.
We had a lunch here and ordered khinkali, salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, and chicken with vegetables. Everything was fresh and delicious. I also recommend a homemade lemonade, very tasty. I wouldn’t say that it’s expensive compared to other places.

We had an amazing Georgian feast. Very reasonably priced, lovely food, good beer, great atmosphere, would definitely recommend! Luka was a great waiter and helped us understand the menu and made great recommendations!

In this restaurant they charge for a service fee (I didn't check if it was the right amount actually but people have complained). I asked for a soup and Veal Ojakhuri. Around 40 min later I still don't have food or drink... I ask the waitress and she comes from the kitchen and says 5/10minutes more... "40 minutes for a soup?!" I asked. She goes in again and a few minutes later she brings me the soup... almost 1h after I sat at the restaurant... then she brings the main course immediately. So now I have the hot soup to eat and the main cooling down 🤦‍♂️ And when I pay, the waiter asks for tip??? You already charged a 10% fee! He said it's for the restaurant. The food is already more expensive than the raw ingredients because of that! Not tipping,no. Other than that, the atmosphere was good. Saw some people complaining about food but that's not my business... The food wa alright. The meat was chewy. The potatoes were delicious though

Nice place in center with great Georgian dishes! Very tasty and big portions. On busy hours service might be slow, check the estimated waiting time in advance.

Great place in the heart of the city. Great wine and my wife had the homemade lemonade and it was so good you have to get it. This is a must go restaurant!

Excellent georgian cuisine, incredible tasty! The famous Kinkhali are the best which I had in Georgia (and I travel Georgia up and down for almost 6years).

Ate dinner here tonight. Service was fast, food was delicious and big servings. We came a 2nd night and were advised khinkali was not available due to water being changed. We had git chicken salad instead and it was nice. We also had the special khachapuri which was ok.

The food was good, the ambience was good but the service was pathetic.. we didn't get the orders that we asked for.. We ordered a pizza, the other table got their desserts and we were still waiting for main course. Could be racist, but I will give them benefit of doubt.

I recently traveled with my family from Kutaisi International Airport to Abu Dhabi, and our experience was smooth and hassle-free. Everything went well because we followed the rules. We had 5kg carry-on and 26kg checked bag, both within the allowed limits our checkin was smooth. while many are overloaded and oversized faced difficulties... The airport is new, Beautiful, staff were professional and well-organized. Our check-in took less than 15 minutes! It's important to note that the airline booking app clearly stated that mobile PDF boarding passes are not accepted, you must bring a printed version. Still, we saw about 80% of passengers trying to use mobile PDFs, which caused unnecessary delays. So here's my advice: be prepared, read the instructions, and follow the rules. If you do that, you won’t face any issues at all. Be Cool, Go Cool. Best of luck!

A small airport with decent service overall. Both the arrivals and departures areas are fairly modern and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, which is a nice plus. I recommend arriving well in advance of your flight, as long queues can form - especially at check-in. There's an additional control procedure in place, where Georgian citizens are screened by police before departure, which can slow things down considerably. The airport is clean, modern, and visually appealing. However, prices in the duty-free area are quite high - I didn’t notice any good deals. One thing that surprised me: there are no vending machines in the departure and waiting areas to buy water or snacks. There are only a few cafés where you can purchase food and drinks, but no quick-grab options. Overall, the experience was positive - it's a decent budget-friendly airport that does its job well.

Kutaisi Airport is small but really nice. As Europeans, we went through the security checks smoothly and without any issues. The staff didn’t speak perfect English, but communication was still easy and friendly. There are convenient buses right outside that connect you to all the main cities in Georgia, which makes traveling super simple. Also loved the outdoor green area for smokers, peaceful, very green and well kept!

Smaller but modern airport, which is mainly used by WizzAir in certain time slots. You can have an electronic ticket to enter the security section. At the security check they don't have classic frames, but old columns (I haven't seen them anywhere yet). During the security check, they also threw away our nail clippers, which are normally allowed in Europe. At the gate no one checks priority/non-priority boarding - everyone is in one line

The building is modern, but the staff ruin the experience. At the entrance to passport control, the woman was rude and hostile when I asked a simple question. In Europe, what matters are your documents, not who you stand with. If Georgia wants to match EU standards, it must start with basic respect for tourists.

Very good airport. Security is a breeze, kept laptop in bag too. A 29 minute walk or 2 min taxi ride from Kutaisi Airport Train Station. Avoid the aggressive taxi men waiting outside, always order from an app (Bolt, Yandex) using WiFi or data! They will rip you off. Is free shuttle bus to airport train station. Mostly serves EU destinations.

Arrival: Nice and quick disembarkation from the plane. After only 10-15 minutes, you're through passport control and welcomed by beautiful Georgia. Departures: After passing through the automatic gates and scanning your boarding card, you're greeted by a rather sluggish Security Control. One person checks passports and matches them with boarding cards, while three others wait to do bag checks, looking bored as the entire queue is held up by the initial passport/boarding card verification. Approximately 30 minutes later, and without much urgency, the 2nd officer joined the passport/boarding card check-up. A bonus was not needing to remove electronics and liquids from bags. However, after scanning, one bag was requested to be opened. I'm not sure what they were looking for, but after it was completely emptied, I was told everything was fine. But then, just as I was about to continue towards Passport Control, they took my other bag to scan a second time. All clear again. Attempt number two: I was about to proceed, while my wife with our 2-year-old toddler waited for me, but again... They then started scanning my wife's bags a second time, and later even my toddler's small backpack. I've never experienced anything like it. Finally, we made it to Passport Control: No issues here, just 2 minutes, stamped out of the country, and through to Duty Free. Duty Free: * 500ml bottle of water - €2 (not cheap) * Cigarettes - Cheap (compared with EU countries) * The rest: * Georgian wine - Overpriced (compared to supermarket prices in Georgia) * Whiskey and Vodka - Some well-known brands were overpriced, others were reasonably priced. All prices are in EUR, but you can also spend leftover GEL. A few coffee shops are spread around other Duty Free shops and gates. However, these coffee shops no longer accept EUR if you've spent all your GEL at the first Duty Free shop. Boarding was okay, but it became a bit cramped in the waiting area with limited space before getting permission to go straight to the plane. There are no airbridges here; you walk outside, and the plane is already waiting for you. Summary and Conclusion: * Nice modern airport with lazy security. * Ineffective modern 3D scanners (resulting in double scanning). * Too many passport/boarding card check-ups. * Overpriced Duty Free for tourists. * Confusing multiple currency acceptance (and non-acceptance). What other similar-sized airports accomplish in 10-15 minutes, this one managed to extend to an hour.

Terrible experience! Security confiscated my nail clippers with a sharp part of 4 mm, they were in their original sealed packaging. The girls were very arrogant, constantly shouting: Don´t touch! even though I stood there in my endless bewilderment and did not move whatsoever. Wizzair prohibits scissors with blades of more than 6 cm as measured from the fulcrum, but they also took my nail scissors with blades of 3 cm. I had flown to Georgia with these scissors on board, they were my go-to scissors for light travel! But the security girls were exceptionally rude, they stuck a piece of paper (in Georgian) under my nose, which was supposed to say that Georgia prohibits all kind of scissors. When I pointed out that nail clippers are not scissors and that I might as well hurt a fellow passenger on board with a wooden toothpick, they sent me to the luggage drop-off with the false information that as a Wizzair Flex passenger I could give my luggage off for free. There was a huge queue at the drop-off (the airport is really poorly organized), so I gave the brand new nail clippers to a random arriving passenger and threw away my trusty travel nail scissors. I'm sorry, but this incident has darkened my otherwise bright travel impression of Georgia! I've also informed Wizzair.
