Osaka Castle, a historic gem dating back to 1597, stands as a testament to Japan's rich heritage. Although it has faced numerous challenges over the centuries—from battles to natural disasters—it has been beautifully reconstructed while retaining some original elements. This majestic structure boasts five floors on the outside and eight within, all nestled in an expansive 15-acre park adorned with cherry blossom trees that come alive each spring.
Can’t really miss coming to the Castle if you’re in Osaka. It’s beautiful and iconic. I walked from Namba to the Castle and it allowed me to explore different neighbourhoods. I recommend buying tickets online as it can hasten your waiting time a little bit, but you still need to queue. When entering the castle, you have to decide if you go left (to the elevator) or right (the stairs). Take the stairs. They are easy to climb and on each floor you have exhibitions. Unfortunately, no photography is allowed on two of those floors. Also, I found the available bathrooms tiny. Maybe use those near the shops and cafés on your right when entering and facing the castle from the grounds. The souvenir shop has some cute gifts, such as lego-like mini Japanese shops, restaurants and facilities. I bought two for my brother who loves Lego. The views from the top are amazing and I believe it’s even better than at Umeda Sky Building. Also, visit the gardens (200 yen). They are peaceful and although you don’t find beautiful flowers there like in French gardens for example, you can take beautiful pictures of the castle from different perspectives.

Osaka Castle (Osaka-jo) is an absolutely breathtaking historical landmark and a must-visit destination in Japan. I give it a resounding 5 stars! The castle structure itself is stunning, especially the golden accents on the tower, but the true beauty lies in the surrounding castle grounds. The massive stone walls and deep moats showcase incredible historical engineering. The park is vast, meticulously maintained, and perfect for walking, offering incredible views of the castle from every angle. The museum inside the main tower (Tenshukaku) is highly informative, detailing the castle's rich history and the story of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The panoramic view of Osaka city from the top floor is unforgettable. An unforgettable experience of Japanese history and architecture.
Shah H — Google review
Osaka Castle is a very beautiful place on the outside with very nice grounds, but it’s not really a castle on the inside, it was rebuilt and turned into a museum after a fire, so don’t come in here expecting to see an actual castle on the inside. Very much skippable to go inside the actual museum, most exciting thing was the great view from above and the stamps. If you do end up coming here buy a ticket online, as ticket queue is very long, also do so from the official website, even if it is in Japanese, as it doesn’t have any extra fees.
Robert N — Google review
10/10 would recommend if you want to learn more about Japanese history and experience beautiful cultural architecture. This site is also wheelchair accessible with an elevator to the 5th floor but I am not sure if there was one all the way to the 8th floor which is where you get to look out around the entire site. We had to climb stairs up to each level from the 5th floor to experience all the different exhibits on each level which wasn’t difficult for us. We quite enjoyed the history. Also, it was a beautiful view all around the castle grounds and an experience to remember for a lifetime. We would suggest accessing this site using the Osaka Amazing pass if you can get it from Klook. Much more affordable and there are many attractions close by that can also be enjoyed with the same pass.
Jon-Marc B — Google review
Only if you love the history then worth the visit inside the castle you get to go up and you get a little museum of a tiny history of osaka castle but very crowded and you get an okay view of the top, you can do quick. There is a long queue for elevator best to take the stairs or you will be there forever and buy tickets online to avoid another queue to enter the castle. There is boat ride of the castle which is nice best to do on a good sunny day. Not much else but can be all done within 1 hour.
Yashmi C — Google review
Osaka Castle is undeniably iconic — the exterior is gorgeous, the architecture is striking, and the surrounding park is pleasant to walk through. It’s one of those landmarks that looks amazing from the outside and makes for great photos, especially if the weather is good. That said, the interior museum experience is just okay. A lot of the original history has been replaced with modern displays and signage, so you don’t really get the feeling of stepping into an ancient castle. The upper viewing deck is decent, but the crowds can get overwhelming and the lines move slowly — especially on weekends or holidays. Overall, it’s worth a visit to see the building and the grounds, but the inside feels a bit commercial and less immersive than expected. If you’re in Osaka and have extra time, it’s a convenient and solid sightseeing stop — but not a “must do” if you’re limited on schedule.
Jack S — Google review
A historic castle. The outer area is very large. The inside has a lot of diorama, mini museum. As a castle fan, history and culture enthusiast, I truly enjoyed this exhibition. You can try one the helmet too for 500 Yen and another 1800 Yen to get photographed profesionally (green screen) But the crowd should got capped 20% less in order to better enjoyment.
Mario K — Google review
Super fun experience, it was so amazing to see and be able to walk inside of the castle. There was so much to read about its history within. It was a very quiet place inside apart from some people's children making some noise, fairly crowded when we went in late September/early October but it wasn't too bad. It was easy to navigate to and the grounds were cool to walk especially after being able to see inside and learn more about points of interest and how the castle was made!

Park
Nature & Parks
Osaka Castle Park is a vast green space that offers various attractions such as gardens with cherry blossoms, athletic fields, and open-air theaters. It's a budget-friendly option for families, providing entertainment for children with play areas and fountains to splash around in. The park also features a stunning Japanese castle that can be admired or toured. Located near Tennoji Station, the neighborhood offers revitalization and increasing popularity with shopping, dining, and nightlife options.
Osaka Castle Park is a fantastic urban escape and a must-visit for its sheer historical and visual impact. While the castle keep itself is a modern concrete reconstruction housing a museum, its exterior grandeur and the massive scale of the moats, gates, and towering stone walls are genuinely awe-inspiring and highly photogenic. The park grounds surrounding the castle are the real highlight, providing a spacious and beautiful green oasis in the heart of the city. Strolling the expansive lawns, past the enormous granite blocks, and around the deep moats is incredibly relaxing. It's particularly stunning during cherry blossom season (spring) and when the plum blossoms bloom earlier in the year. The main drawback that prevents a perfect score is the castle keep interior—the museum is informative but feels very modern, which can be jarring if you're expecting a preserved historical structure like some other Japanese castles. However, the panoramic view from the top observation deck is excellent. Allow a couple of hours for the park alone, plus time for the castle museum if you're a history enthusiast. It’s an easy, worthwhile trip.

Very large Castle & park!!! Took the tram up to the entrance for my senior parents, which really helped. Gear photo opportunities everywhere. Weather was good, late September early October. I picked up a really nice T-shirt & other souvenirs at the gift shop. A little pricey but good quality.

As one of Japan's most famed landmarks and a symbol of reunification, the construction of the Osaka Castle was built in 1583 and has undergone many restorations throughout the centuries. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks around the vast Osaka Castle Park, which offers breathtaking views, particularly during the cherry blossom period. While it's free to walk around the park, it is paid entry to your main castle tower. Just admiring the castle's grandeur from the ground was enough for us! For those who want to take photos of the castle without swarms of tourists milling around, we recommend taking photos from the side or beyond the moat.

Osaka Castle Park is an absolutely beautiful place to visit! The scenery is stunning from the lush greenery to the majestic view of the castle itself. The castle museum offers a fascinating look into Japan’s rich culture and history, with well-presented exhibits. The observatory deck provides a great panoramic view of the city and surrounding park. Overall, it was a truly memorable experience! A wonderful blend of nature, history, and beauty. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Osaka!

Very neat place. We climbed the stairs to the 8th floor. I was a challenge in the heat and humidity. There is a one way elevator (up only i believe, but maybe I'm wrong since I took the stairs). The stair way is not air conditioned, but each level where the exhibits were is. Nice views from the top. Some nice gift shops in out buildings. I'd recommend a visit.

Nature's beauty is on display in full regalia. This park is so incredible. It has everything trees, flowers, birds singing, even the crow's cawing is not annoying. Come here in the fall and you'll see the fiery red colors of the leaves turning. The Japanese maples are absolutely stunning and you get these beautiful reflections on the water. This is world-class beauty.

Woah!!!! That’s the least I can say about this splendid masterpiece. We went at night and the castle was lit up throughout the whole night. I strongly encourage to go at night as it’ll be less crowded and less hot. There are patrols onsite for security obviously. It’s a white castle and super pretty especially at night. No tickets were bought to enjoy this beauty.

Osaka Castle is an impressive and beautifully preserved landmark that perfectly blends Japan’s rich history with modern city views. The walk through the park is relaxing, and the observation deck at the top offers a panoramic view of the city skyline that’s absolutely worth the climb. Everything is clean, well-organized, and family-friendly — a must-visit for anyone coming to Osaka!

The museum also hosts fun events for children, including quiz rallies and workshops. It is a must-visit attraction for history enthusiasts of all ages looking to delve into Osaka's fascinating heritage.
Really enjoyed my time at the museum! It was an impromptu plan but I’m so glad I went. Some really interesting exhibits to learn about Japan’s history. I think the entire museum will take you about 60-90 mins to cover if you visit all exhibits.

Beautiful museum just right across Osaka Castle. If you're into history, this museum will make you happy. There are multiple floors to visit each covering different era of Osaka history.

Diving myself into rich history of osaka and vicinity are, I spent about a couple of hours to learn and enjoy the exhibiyion in this place. It’s so extensive but entertaining without exhaustion, the journey begins with buying tge reasonable price ticket on 1F then proceed to top 10th floor, story of very first osaka, nanniwa palace , then step down floor by floor , be not missed !! The stunning view of osaka castle complex .

We stopped by on our way to the Osaka castle park. A good experience. A great place to learn more about the rich history of Osaka and to get a bit of rest and cool down too (especially if you go during the hottest months).

Well worth a visit. Takes you through the history of Osaka from prehistoric times. Very impressive life size models, original artifacts and miniature townscapes are spread over 3 floors. Very good information provided in English. As you move between floors you get a fantastic view of the castle & moat. Part way through you can have a break and try some archaeology based puzzles. Harder than you think.

Nicely curated museum just beside Osaka Castle. As soon as we got off the train, the NHK Building was there and we decided to check out the museum first before exploring the castle. We learned a lot about Osaka - its history and how it became the city it is today. The regular museum exhibit starts at the 10th floor, each floor showcases Osaka's history from geological formations, to the different parts of history - shogunate, industrial transformation etc. While going down to the other floors, you can see the beautiful views of the city facing the port area and a great view of the Osaka Castle. We spent about 2.5hrs here going through every display and reading most of the descriptions. There's an area for kids (and adults too) where they can play with puzzles, look at microscopes, play on a 90s model PC, dig some fossils and more.
Belle — Google review
Absolutely wonderful Museum. Beautiful service, you begin on the 10th floor with a great view of Osaka Castle, and as you go to lower levels the display becomes more current. If you are in Osaka this is a must to get some insight on the history of this magnificent city.
Till — Google review
Who could've thought it was possible to fill 4 floors for a local history museum, but Osaka has done it. The exhibits are of the highest calibre, especially the models of the Naniwa Period. Although the life sized models on all the floors are excellent. There's a currently a special exhibition of Japanese sword making, which I highly recommend. Although most of it is about traditional Japanese swords, there's a special section. This special section is a collaboration between sword-smiths and modern manga artists to create some fanciful swords. It's also worth taking the escalators down and you can get birds eye view of Osaka Castle and the castle park. Well worth a visit.

RAMEN CHORO

Ramen restaurant
Nestled in a cozy corner of Dotonbori, RAMEN CHORO 〜貝と地鶏だしのらぁ麺 ちょろ〜 is a minimalist noodle haven that specializes in crafting exquisite ramen using shellfish and free-range chicken broth. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, with the hustle and bustle of staff expertly preparing delicious bowls of ramen that draw both locals and visitors alike.
This is the first time i saw my wife finished bottoms up a ramen bowl that quickly! The special seasoning of dried sardined sauce and butter is the soul of the ramen which reminds me of the wide savoury breeze near the granblue waves of the sea where we can hear echoes of the duet between medium well and medium rare chasiu pork, accompanied by endless seaweeds. What a great gourmet journey. The price is quite fair and the service is awesome. Good job to the chef and the assistant who patiently explained many things in english we dunno. Definitely a reminder of when we return to Osaka someday.

I have my last lunch in Osaka with my friend in this restaurant before I leave Japan today. And I would just like to say the experience was really great. The food qualities were extremely good. And the price was sensible too. The staffs were very friendly. And they were trying their very best to introduce their products and using instruction to us. At last, I was happy that I could have a short talk with one of a staff together before I left the shop. We must be back very soon and thanks for their warm treat to us!

This was my first time trying ramen with butter, and it turned out to be surprisingly delicious! Plus, they offer free seaweed that you can add as much as you like. On top of that, the waitress was super friendly — so friendly that I even felt a little shy ☺️ Highly recommend everyone to come and give it a try!

Ordered the special with shoyu and the super special with dried sardines shoyu and both were freaking amazing! The butter really makes a hugeeee difference, add the whole chunk in and you won’t regret it! Would highly recommend this place, the atmosphere is great and service is fabulous!

Lovely experience overall! First of all, the Salt ramen! There is nothing more one could ask of it. Perfect balance of salt with Umami. They also provide you with nori that gives you that additional saline nuance and umami. If you want to steer a bit away from the simple but perfect broth, they have hajikami flakes(first time seeing them, would love to buy them) that provides incredible aroma and that slight tingle to your tongue that wakes the taste buds. (Also I swear they do something to that eggs. How are they cooking them and how are they infusing the aroma..?) Another thing that I appreciated (immensly) is that they provide smaller portion of noodles. Usually when I go get ramen, I can't finish them. And by no means because I didn't like them. Even for ones I loved I left 1/3 to 1/2 portions. I hate food waste, and also I didn't want it to seem like I didn't enjoy the dish. So when Choro had smaller portion option, was relieved and actually finished the whole thing! Lastly. The overall experience outside of the food itself was somewhat different (in a good way) from other ramen restaurants I've been to. (By no means an expert, but I love my ramen. ) I felt Choro was quite spacious with a bright and light atmosphere (personally think, matching the food). Also, my first time seeing the restaurant actively collect user experience and opinion which shows what the restaurant values. Of course, the welcoming staff made the overall experience start off as and kept it amazing.

I don’t usually leave reviews for food but this ramen was the best ramen I’ve ever had in my life and my time so far in Japan! Highly recommend the dried sardine soup and the key to the ramen: hokkaido butter 🧈😭 it’s sooo good i’ll definitely be back for this! 🙌🏼 Bonus for exceptional service ☺️

One, if not the best ramen we have tried during our two-week trip in Japan. Extremely tasty broth, thin and soft meat and very friendly staff. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you are in Osaka!

The Umeda Sky Building is a remarkable architectural gem in Osaka, standing tall at 173 meters. This iconic structure features a rooftop garden observatory that provides breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape, making it an ideal spot for both daytime and nighttime visits. The experience is further enhanced by its vibrant restaurant floor, which captures the charm of early Showa Period Japan. Visitors can enjoy delicious meals while soaking in the historical ambiance.
It was an amazing experience watching the sunset from the observation deck. I loved the view, loved the escalator both up and down the building. We got hearts and engraved them for a forever memory. We had such an amazing and romantic time ! The only issue is you have to queue for some long wether you booked in advance or not and it was pretty long. If you don't mind the wait, I would 100% recommend. 👌
Kawtar E — Google review
This initially unassuming building has a quite good free area, with a shop and great views, but it's worth paying to go all the way up! No prebooking was needed when we came during a weekday morning. The open-air top has good views of the surrounding area, although the ideal south view is blocked by other skyscrapers, unfortunately. There's a very small museum with the history of the building, containing an excellent time-lapse video of the unbelievable central area raising process. There's a fairly good food & drink shop inside, worth a rest here if you can get a good window seat.

Due to the roadworks and construction this was difficult to find. But once we found it, it was a lovely building. I used the Osaka Amazing Pass. Note that if you come before 3pm or is free with the pass. Unfortunately we can after 3pm so the pass allowed us a 10% discount. We bought the tickets on the day. There was no queue and the tickets were readily available. Then it was a lift and an elevator up to the top and the skyline was amazing. There is a specific area for photo spot. Not controlled by the staff but everyone was respectful by queuing up and not taking too long to take the pics. It was an amazing view. Also walked up the stairs to the outer layer of the sky building. It's outdoors with ample amount of safety so wonderful to go out and feel the warm breeze.

One of our first activity in Osaka. We visited this building and queued for some time to get access to the elevator which will take us up to the observation floor - which is the top 2 floors of this building. Once upstairs, you have to get tickets and then, you are free to roam around the 2 floors. There are plenty of nice view all around. There is a cafe, lavatory as well as a souvenir shop. The rooftop is the most popular spot as you can view the Osaka skyline and it is gorgeous in a clear night. I wish we had come here during sunset as I am sure we could get aome amazing pictures then. We spent quite sometime admiring the cityscape. There are a few platforms set up for taking photos. We finally left when it became too cold due to the strong, chilly wind.
Gevs — Google review
Walked from Osaka Castle to Umeda Sky Building and the walk itself was nothing special, with the aggravating factor that there are roadworks going on. Also, expect to wait a long time to take the lift (almost 1 hour), and then to come down (it doesn’t matter if you buy a ticket in advance or not, it’s just the normal waiting time to take the lift as there are only two that take turns). The views are ok, but you clearly realise (if you haven’t done so already) that Osaka is a very grey and brownish city, with too many buildings. You almost see no green, no nature. Also, most of the windows are blocked by tables and chairs of the café and people seem to love to block your access to them, so it can be tricky to take decent pictures. Once again, souvenir shops and I didn’t really care for what they were selling. Was hoping for a great experience as every blog tells us it’s a must-see place, but in my opinion it wasn’t really worth the walk (it’s far from everything) and I preferred the views from the Osaka Castle. Oh, and bring cash, I believe the tickets machines only accept cash (2000 yen per adult), but I’m not sure.
André M — Google review
This is great place to see the skyline of the whole city. Highly recommend to check it out. Without paying ticket to the highest level, people can still visit the gift shop and see the city through the windows. But the outside visiting floor is awesome. Not dangerous because there is another open floor below the outdoor patio. So it's not very scary if people are afraid of heights.
Joseph Z — Google review
Interesting building and history, nice views. A bit too long waiting time for me. Very organized. On the top you have a nice cafe where you can take. A couple of selfies. Worth it if you are doing this and other Osaka activitys on the "Osaka amazing pass"(if pricing doesn't change "

Offers an astonishing night view of Osaka City, split into an open door and indoor area. The indoor area is quite huge and there were not many people in it. There are shops as well as eateries, providing merchandise and souvenirs for visitors to buy. A must come if you wish to view the night skies of Osaka, might be hard to find due to the nearby construction site.

Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda is a must-visit destination for tech enthusiasts in Umeda. This leading electronics chain store, conveniently connected to JR Osaka Station, offers an extensive shopping area across seven floors. From baby and children's goods to electronics and cosmetics, the store provides a wide variety of products at competitive prices. Additionally, visitors can explore sweet shops and gourmet eateries within the building.
A megastore for electronics and gadgets. It has everything under the sun! As a visitor, you will get to see the latest iterations of camera, televisions, etc. But the products will adopt a Japanese language system. The service level is also good. The store occupies many floors of the building. No visit to Osaka is ever complete without visiting this iconic store. High recommended. Thumbs up!

This place is excellent. All kinds of toys, games, tents, fridges, shavers, suitcases, blenders, shaved ice machines, barbecue rigs, and pretty much everything else one could need or not need. Well worth spending several hours looking around. Plenty to see and do for all ages. Great for all the family. Half of the building is Yodobashi Camera and the other half various other stores.

This place feels like teleporting into a 90s shop! You can still buy brand-new audio cassette players, CD/MP3 players, and even movies on VHS and DVD. They also offer new products at good prices since they provide tax-free shopping for tourists. It’s a great spot to see classic Japanese brands alongside modern high-tech items as well.

Amazing multi-level store to shop, particularly if you are a fan of toys, camera, electronics. They offer a huge selection of things you are thinking of and things you don't know exist (but you will like). The prices are generally good and tax free for tourists, so bring your passport. When we visit, they have the Expo metal built Gundam. You can easily spend a few hours if not a day there if you want to browse everything.

Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda is absolutely massive! If you want to quickly browse through all the floors, it would still take at least 60 minutes—and we ended up spending a few hours there. It’s not just electronics—there’s so much more to explore, including beauty products, toys, and even a food department. Plus, there are over 100 gashapon machines, making it a paradise for capsule toy lovers! A great place to shop, wander, and discover all kinds of gadgets and goodies in one spot. Been trying to purchase a Sigma 17-40mm f1.8 eMount in the Philippines and unfortunately, after months of waiting, it is still unavailable. Had the opportunity to go to Yodabashi Osaka, and finally got mine tax free! Amazing lens. Excellent quality. Better service!

Great flagship store. It's nested in an amazing location with shopping and food. Well worth the visit. Right outside of Osaka station.

This department store is quite large, with a primary focus on selling electronic devices such as computers, mobile phones, tablets, and various accessories. In addition, there are general retail zones, such as Uniqlo and several other shops. The staff are highly skilled and can check stock availability online, as well as assist in navigating the store efficiently. However, if you're specifically looking for sports equipment, this may not be the best option as the selection is limited, with most items being golf clubs and golf accessories. Another point to consider is that some items may not be in stock and may need to be pre-ordered, such as certain keyboard models. If you need them immediately, it’s recommended to check in advance. The restrooms within the store are somewhat hard to find, as the store layout is packed and not very orderly, making it take some time to locate them. If you're looking for IT products, this store is a good choice, though when compared to other places, the prices aren't significantly different.

Grand Front Osaka is a modern and stylish mall located in Osaka, Japan. Opened in 2013, it offers over 260 shops, services, and restaurants across its three structures: Umekita Plaza, the South Building, and the North Building. The complex also includes the Intercontinental Osaka Hotel and office space. Additionally, visitors can enjoy trendy fashion shops, interior goods stores, sportswear outlets, as well as various dining options like restaurants and cafes.
A stylish and modern complex right next to Osaka Station. Great mix of shops, restaurants, and cafes across multiple floors. Perfect for shopping, grabbing a meal, or just relaxing between travels. The rooftop garden and open spaces are a nice touch. Clean, convenient, and well-designed — a must-visit if you’re in the Umeda area.

The Grand Front Osaka complex is actually a combination of several buildings. Unfortunately, I didn’t research enough before visiting and assumed it was just one building, which left me feeling a bit lost while exploring. Overall, it’s a great place to visit, as long as you use the building floor plan to know where you are. The complex is welcoming and conveniently within walking distance of Osaka Station.

Another huge mall in the heart of Umeda. Has a lot of unique brands that cover many aspects of life. The place is always busy with people. Good for businesses!

Huge mall next to the train station. Well planned with spacious walkways and easy connections to adjacent buildings. Lots of shop, cafes and restaurants. The area is clean and well maintained. I love the outdoor fountain area with cute sculptures. I struggled with the signages initially but got the hang of it eventually.

Grand Front Osaka is a fantastic destination for shopping and exploring! The variety of boutique stores is impressive, offering everything from high-end fashion to unique local finds. It’s a great place to browse and discover something special. The Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning and added a magical atmosphere to the whole experience—definitely a highlight of our visit! That said, the layout can be a bit confusing, especially for first-time visitors. It took some time to navigate between the different areas. Overall, it’s a lively and vibrant spot that’s worth checking out, especially during the holiday season.

Large, modern shopping complex with lots of shops and restaurants. The open space outside has water features and a large green bear sitting in the water spitting out water from its mouth. The steps also have an advertisement for the expo. Probably quite a pleasant outdoor space when it’s not so hot. Rather busy inside, not many people outside due to the heat.

Grand Front Osaka is a beautiful and well-designed complex — clean, modern, and full of great shops, restaurants, and cafes. It’s one of Osaka’s most stylish areas, perfect for shopping, dining, or simply enjoying the atmosphere. However, in the early morning hours, you may notice several homeless people or individuals sleeping on benches around the building and nearby plazas, so it’s good to stay a bit cautious if you visit early in the day. Other than that, it’s a fantastic and vibrant place to explore — safe, lively, and very comfortable during the day. I recommend visiting on weekdays when it’s less crowded and you can fully enjoy the calm yet sophisticated vibe of the area.

Train station
Osaka Station is a major railway hub that has been in operation since 1874. It offers a wide range of shops, services, and dining options for travelers. Nearby, Kuromon Market spans around 600 meters and dates back to the Edo Period. The market features about 150 shops selling fish, meat, produce, traditional sweets, and affordable clothing and homeware.
Really nice impressive station. Big. I used the storage lockers to make a day trip in Osaka castle and then came back to pick up the luggage and take the train. Very nice how the platform I was in, was open so you can see the city from inside the station.

An impressive station which is the stop point for a large amount of trains and travellers modernized with a large shopping complex above containing shops such as the Pokemon Centre and Nintendo Store. I recommend spending a day to explore and get lost with the offerings that Osaka Station has to offer!

I can give this 10 stars if it's available. I come from a country where our station smells like crap and falling apart. So it's amazing how this is just one of many amazing train stations in Japan.
Monkey ( — Google review
Osaka Station is one of the largest and busiest transportation hubs in the Kansai region, serving as a key gateway to major cities like Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara. The station connects multiple train lines, including JR and local subway services, making it incredibly convenient for travelers. Inside the station, there are numerous restaurants, cafes, and shops, offering a variety of food and retail options. Several hotels are also directly connected or nearby, such as Hotel Granvia Osaka and InterContinental Osaka, providing excellent accommodations for visitors. Right next to the station is the Yoshinoda Electronics Store, a large electronics supermarket where you can find a wide range of gadgets, appliances, and more. With its strategic location and abundant facilities, Osaka Station is an ideal starting point for exploring the Kansai region.

I didn't plan to visit the Osaka Station, just wanted to try a new route. First time here in this station, it's so big and grand . It's amazing to see the building structure of the station, all the different train tracks really opened my eyes . A busy station, but people moving around quietly. The road signs and directories are very clear and helpful , because they have many different railway lines and companies , you may need to walk a long way to change to another line . I am really impressed by the whole system !

Osaka Station is one of the most impressive and busiest transportation hubs in Japan, and it lived up to its reputation during my visit. The station itself is massive, modern, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate even for first-time visitors. It connects various JR lines, including the Osaka Loop Line, and offers direct access to Kansai Airport, which is incredibly convenient for travelers. What sets Osaka Station apart is not just its efficiency but also the range of facilities it offers. There’s an entire shopping complex, Lucua, directly above the station with everything from fashion to souvenirs. You can also find plenty of restaurants and cafes to grab a quick bite or enjoy a leisurely meal. Whether you’re looking for local Osaka cuisine or international options, you’ll find something to suit your taste.

This time I ordered [Tori Ten Udon] (photo included). 🍜Points of Review • The dashi has a gentle Kansai-style flavor. The clear-colored soup is based on kelp and bonito, and is mellow enough to drink down. It is not too salty, so it is comforting. • The noodles are chewy and slightly thick udon. Unlike the firmness of Sanuki, they have a good elasticity in their softness and are easy to eat. • The chicken tempura is freshly fried and fluffy. The batter is light, and even when dipped in dashi, it doesn't get too soggy, and it has a rich aroma. Personally, I wanted one more (lol) • The garnish of green onions is a nice touch. It adds color and flavor. 📝 Summary The noodles are carefully made and are perfect for a quick meal. They're not flashy, but if you like Kansai-style udon, you'll love the taste. This is a restaurant you'll want to visit again and again when you're just a little hungry!

This udon specialty restaurant is well-known in Osaka. This time, I ordered Zaru Udon. The thick, firm udon noodles were smooth and easy to swallow, and the more I chewed, the more I could taste the distinct wheat aroma. They were thoroughly chilled in cold water, giving them a delightfully cool taste. The dipping sauce was a slightly sweet Kansai-style dipping sauce. It wasn't too strong, but had a subtle flavor that brought out the rich umami of the broth, and it paired perfectly with the chopped green onions and grated ginger garnishes. Adding a little wasabi midway through added a refreshing touch, keeping me entertained until the very end. The udon was also generously portioned, making it a satisfying lunchtime meal. Many customers add tempura or rice dishes as an added bonus, and the wide variety of set menus means you can customize your meal to suit your mood that day. The restaurant has a clean, calming Japanese atmosphere. With counter and table seating, the layout is convenient for both solo and group dining. The staff are attentive, and even my first visit felt comfortable. The fast service makes it perfect for busy lunchtimes. ... The soba and two inari sushi are filling enough for breakfast, and they'll leave you full. The broth and inari sushi are bland and unsatisfying. It would be impressive if they reduced the salt content with the end of summer, but it may simply be a mistake. The restaurant is clean and hygienic, and the prices are still reasonable and convenient. The staff are all polite, smiling, and friendly. While this is just my personal preference, I felt the food was a little underwhelming, so I'll give it an overall rating of two stars. The rice balls were filled with plenty of ingredients, and when eaten with the udon noodles, it was especially satisfying. As far as department stores go, I reckon this is the Gold standard in the Kansai region. Located in the Nakanoshima neighborhood of Osaka, the Osaka City Central Public Hall is a beautifully restored neoclassical building constructed in 1913. This cultural landmark has played a significant role in the artistic and cultural development of modern Osaka, hosting events, concerts, lectures, and notable figures such as Helen Keller and Yuri Gagarin. The hall's neo-renaissance style architecture with red bricks and arches has earned it recognition as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
Osaka City Central Public Hall is a stunning architectural gem and a symbol of Osaka’s rich history. Built in 1918, this historic building is a blend of Neo-Renaissance and Baroque styles, featuring a striking red brick and stone façade that stands out beautifully against the modern cityscape. The interior is equally impressive, with its grand halls, chandeliers, and detailed woodwork evoking a sense of elegance and timelessness. The hall is still used today for a variety of cultural and public events, from concerts to exhibitions, and even weddings. Even if you’re not attending an event, it’s worth visiting just to admire the architecture and take a guided tour. The location along the river also offers picturesque views, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely walk before or after your visit.

The Osaka City Central Public Hall, built in 1918, is a symbolic landmark in the Nakanoshima neighborhood, which is lined with retro historical buildings, and is still an active public facility used for cultural, artistic, and social activities. The building was built by Einosuke Iwamoto, a stockbroker in Kitahama, who donated his personal fortune to the city of Osaka in order to provide "a place that everyone can use. Each room, from the stained glass windows and chandeliers to the staircases and doors, is a masterpiece of the technology of the time.

Well, for better or worse, I like this type of red brick building and the architectural style. I find it easy on the eye. Centrally located and easy to get to, with plenty to do around it. Would be nice if at least part of it could be open year round for visitors to see the inside, perhaps just a few restored rooms to give an idea of the interior around the period of construction.
Timothy P — Google review
Beautifully restored! The building elements were so clean and crisp, unmistakably Japanese!

Beautiful building with rich history. Take your time to explore the interior and don't miss the permanent exhibition on the ground floor. Oh, there's also a beautiful rose garden 15 mins walk away from the Public Hall.
Chris O — Google review
A historical landmark and architectural masterpiece, the Osaka City Central Public Hall gently bears witness to Osaka's rich past. This magnificent structure, which is situated in Nakanoshima, draws tourists with its breathtaking Western-style architecture and cultural value. It radiates elegance and majesty. The Central Public Hall's elaborate façade, arched windows, and fine craftsmanship instantly draw your attention and are reminiscent of early 20th-century European architecture. The building stands out among the city's architectural landscapes thanks to its distinctive red-brick facade, exquisite domes, and detailed ornamentation. Entering, one is taken back in time to a more affluent and sophisticated period. The opulent interior design, with its elaborate woodwork, stained glass windows, and grand staircases, emanates a classic elegance. The Main Hall makes one feel nostalgic for a bygone age with its lavish chandeliers and well-kept decor. The Central Public Hall is a cultural center that hosts a range of events, concerts, and exhibitions that honor local music, art, and culture in addition to its architectural beauty. Its importance as a community hub is further highlighted by its use as a venue for both public and private events. The Central Public Hall, which is bordered by the lovely Dojima River and Nakanoshima Park, provides a calm atmosphere in the middle of the city's bustle, making it the perfect place for leisurely walks and quiet moments of reflection. A trip through history and culture awaits visitors to the Osaka City Central Public Hall, offering more than just an architectural tour. This famous monument, which is still a beloved and significant part of Osaka's present, gives a glimpse into the city's past for those who are interested in architecture, history, or just a peaceful getaway.

Hanshin Department Store Umeda Main Store, located in the Daihanshin Building, is a beloved department store deeply rooted in the local community. It offers luxury brands, select shops, daily necessities, and various goods. However, its main attraction lies in its food products. The first floor is dedicated to an array of food items including Osaka's specialty souvenirs and snacks.
Hanshin in Umeda is an incredible experience and has the best food events. The first floor has seasonal food events with a focus on festivals, celebrations, or specific food. Just after the New Year, they held a sweet potato event where vendors from different regions came with the most delicious sweet potatoes I've ever tasted. For coffee lovers, Tashiro roasters offers many delights and third wave specialty roasts. Try some off their natural processed coffee. Their Ethiopian is particularly fruity and delicious. On the 3rd floor, Cosme kitchen is an excellent restaurant with many vegan and healthy options. There is also a small specialty food and snack shop on the opposite side of 3F closer to the escalator with vegan snacks, chocolate, dried fruit and more that I could not find elsewhere.

What makes the entire first floor food area of Hanshin Department Store worthwhile is a French bakery stall called PAUL. Their croissants are the best in all of Osaka Station area. What’s also good is their croissant mixte sandwich. I am grateful to be able to enjoy authentic French croissants here in Osaka without having to endure a pickpocket ordeal in Paris. Thank you, ❤️ Japan ❤️from a visiting American. The fruit area of Hanshin has very good selection as well. There are grapes for all budget levels. The grapes from Nagano are the best. On the other hand, the extensive use of blue light in the meat section to make meat look more red than it actually is does not make selling meat here feel very sincere. I would rather go to Hankyu Department Store or somewhere else for meat because of this.

This is my very special department store that I always visit when in Osaka. On the B1, can buy various food items, which are enough for my simple dinner or breakfast. I especially like the mackerel rolls, and there are also many different kinds of tuna sushi, which are excellent. On this trip, I was happy to buy "Dassai 23" at a very reasonable price. Tax refunds were processed quickly on the second floor, and the staff were also "kawaii" (cute).

You will be spoilt for choices for the 'limitless' and mouthwatering food items. And if that's not enough, a short walk, you will find another 2 large department stores with similar offerings! ✌🏻

huge mall where you can find everything on the 11th floor. In the basement there are restaurants... I recommend a small yakitori pub

Amazing bottom floor full of the most incredible food displays. I couldn't choose what to eat. Never go past this place. Underground access via station. Beat the heat or cold by moving sub ground is the best in japan.

This was a completely unexpected and speechless experience. We went to the store to buy Royce Chocolate and were looking for it in the B1 sweets section. The store was crowded and my infant dropped her favorite soft toy in the store. Since the store was crowded we searched for it a bit but in vain. We then reported it to the lost and found section and the Manager of the section noted my name and hotel phone number, since I didnt have a local Japan phone number as I am a tourist. We didnt expect but in the evening when the store was about to close, we received a call from the Lost and Found section manager that they found the toy. Unfortunately it was the store closing time so we couldn't go to the store and also it was not possible for us to pick it up from the store on the next day as we had an early morning departure from Kansai. To our surprise the super kind Manager offered to drop it to our hotel. We mentioned its not necessary and we can let it go, but he insisted to drop it. After 30mins the gentleman came to our hotel and handed over the soft toy. I was so overwhelmed by his kindness that I forgot to ask his name. This experience in Japan will stay with me for a lifetime. Never ever have I seen hospitality at this level. Japan😍.

The tax refund service was very poor. When receiving the refund in cash, we were given a lot of small change. We politely asked if they could round it up to 100 yen by adjusting some of the coins, since we have lots coins, but the staff refused. I suggest going to a different department store—others usually offer much better tax refund service.

Osaka Station City is a sprawling, modern complex located at the northern end of JR Osaka Station. This former freight depot has been transformed into a vibrant area that seamlessly integrates the station with the city. Visitors can explore a variety of attractions, including a shopping mall, movie theaters, sports gym, hotel, restaurants, and even a hospital.
This is my favourite place in Osaka, the hustle and bustle is unparalleled to the rest of the city. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is amazing, your access to essentially everywhere in Japan is amazing - I highly, highly recommend staying here. Before you go make sure you have a brief understanding of the station because it’s big, but it is also great. If you do stay here you’re in proximity to a lot of activities by just walking as well as by train.
Sam C — Google review
Osaka Station, located within the shopping complex of Osaka Station City, is the biggest and busiest station in Western Japan. Like its neighbour Kyoto station (29 mins train ride away), Osaka station offers plentiful facilities and services to tourists and locals. The station is well liked by people as a great recreation and entertainment haven. The station itself has North Gate building and South Gate Building which are linked at ground floor by the station concourse. There are department stores, restaurants and many recreational facilities in both buildings. If you stay in nearby hotels, then you don’t need to venture out to any other area like Namba or Dontonbori for a huge and convenient shopping spree. You can go between the two buildings via two bridges on 3rd floor and 5th floor respectively. If you are a train enthusiast, then go to these two bridges and watch the trains coming and going on the rail tracks below. We spent a beautiful morning at the North Gate Building which is a 28 stories tall premises. Popular department stores like Lucua (my favourite store) and Isetan are located in this building. Shop till you faint. There are also a cinema, a fitness club and offices in this building complex as well. First we went up to the Toki-no-hiroba Plaza on the 5th floor of Osaka Station City. There is a bridge, decorated with 2 large clocks: one is gold and the other is silver in color. If you can get some snack like spaghetti, pizza, lasagna etc from the Caffe Bar Del Sole here on 5th floor. From this floor you can also see the train tracks and platforms below. We continued to visit the 10th floor of the North Gate Building. There we found a traditional Japanese style garden (called Yawaragi-no-niwa Garden; the meaning is peaceful garden). We saw many people enjoying the fresh air and warm sunlight peacefully whilst we were amused by the stunning city view calmly. Then we continued our exploration by going up an outside staircase to the Kaze-no-hiroba Plaza on 11th floor. Kaze-no-hiroba means “garden of the wind”. The plaza is quite true to its name because it is a long and breezy garden. However this garden is famous for its multiple and colorful fragrant flowers. A lady gardener was carefully tending the flowers and plants while we were there. She was really really focus on tending of the gorgeous flowers (see photos). Many young kids were playing joyfully at the water feature garden next to the flowers garden. There is a Tenku-no-noen Farm (heavenly plantation) located on 14th floor. It is a small rooftop farm 3 floors above the Kaze-no-hiroba Plaza. Well the name is really appropriate for this plantation! Why? Let me tell you. We would love to see the plantation, but we have to walk up an almost 70 degree angled long flight of stairs. When I looked up the long stairs I felt as if I were going up to heaven.😅😅I made 3 attempts but my legs went jelly and could not move so finally I gave up. For some unknown reasons, I felt the staircases were built in a scary straight angle (at least to me). I have climbed 12000 ft mountain in Tibet but it did not make me feel scary as I faced this only 3 floors high staircases. Unfortunately I chickened out after trying several attempts otherwise I would have taken some nice photos of the plantation to share with you here. All I know from my research is that a small vineyard and local vegetables herbs and fruits are planted in the plantation. Anyway I saw the same gardener from the 11th floor garden walked up elegantly and relaxingly up the “stairway to heaven” shortly after I quit walking up the stairs. Last but not least let’s explore the South Gate Building. You can find Daimaru department store and Hotel Granvia and Taiyo-no-hiroba Plaza (plant of the sun). I find that all the big train stations such as Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka stations have provided many great entertainment and recreational facilities for people to enjoy and explore.
C K — Google review
If you are new to this building, you gonna get lost. But exploring here is fun. Shops everywhere and food everywhere.

Too crowded... The city lives here and so to go somewhere can be impossible time to time. Everything you can find here, shopping 🛍️💗 eating etc. Osaka is not my type city and exactly different than Tokyo and Kyoto but in spite of this the city left good memories on me.

This is a very busy station, for traveler that are not seasoned, you better know where you are going and be ready to navigate a sea of people. If you are catching the Shinkasen be sure to get there early, They depart on time. We cut it to close and missed our train, because our city train was delayed due to something on the track

HEP FIVE is a popular shopping and entertainment complex in the heart of Umeda, Osaka. It is renowned for its iconic 75-meter-wide red Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views of the city. The facility features over 150 fashion-related shops, amusement facilities on the B2 floor, and some restaurants on the upper floors.
Shopping mall with so many floors of clothes shopping! Great selection of styles, especially for young women. Ferris wheel was very cool and goes extremely high. If you are afraid of heights, brace yourself!

was lucky to have a chance to ride the Ferris wheel on the top floor of the mall shortly after it opened, no line at all. The view of Osaka was beautiful, especially on a clear sunny day. The cabin was very stable even when we moved around inside. It was a peaceful, nice experience. I can only imagine how amazing it must be at night.

Beautiful each time I come here, but the be honest I hope they put off the lights under the seat because it makes reflection in the windows and it shows in photos, and if they could clean the windows higher it would be wonderful so we have a transparent 100% arigato gozaimasu

It’s a mall for the young ; trendy and upbeat . Apart from the alluring heights of the Red Ferris Wheel ; my only other reason for visiting the mall …. Is the likes of the Tokyo characters shops . I visited the Moomin shop which is filled with variety products that a Moomin fan will deemed as a “must to visit “ spot.

Large shopping center with a huge Ferris wheel up top, views were astonishing and the variety of shops inside were also amazing, sat down for a parfait as well as rode on the Ferris wheel. There were also ACG shops inside, with the Jump shop and detective Conan cafe being the most recognizable.

Great shopping center in Osaka! The shops do have a big variety of products and there are as well some restaurants on the higher floors. The ferris wheel is another awesome experience, especially at night, because the view on the city is stunning in the evening! The shopping center is easily accessible on foot from Umeda Station, about 10 minutes.

where is unnecessary hyper on this area if you’ve got nothing to do and you’ve got lots of money waste you could just go and check it out else. There’s no need for this. The Osaka Museum of Housing and Living is a unique museum that offers interactive exhibits showcasing traditional Japanese homes and lifestyles from the past. Visitors can wander through recreated streets featuring shops, houses, and even a river, providing an immersive experience of different historical eras in Osaka's history, including the Edo period and the Meiji era.
This is an extremely cool place if you are into architecture or into Japanese traditions! I got to meet new people inside that taught me the ways of the Japanese that used to live long time ago in these old style villages. It was a really cool experience that I wish I experienced again. The place looks clean and well organized where tourists can appreciate Japanese art and architecture with little trouble. All in all, really great place. 9/10, my only complaint is that I wish there was more history on the actual architecture.
Grygorii O — Google review
If you got Osaka Amazing Pass, the entrance would be free. Just show the QR code and they will give you an ticket access. The museum is located on the 8th floor. Its very organize flow in the museum. You will have nostalgic feel of going back in time during the edo period of how the people live that time. There is a stortly telling presentation which is great to listen. Also, there is rental kimono if you want that more historical vibe of the place for reasonable price. Visit this Museum if you like historical stuff and edo era Japan.

A fun indoor experience for the whole family. This is my second time to this Museum and I love going mostly for the indoor outdoor experience. For a small fee you can wear you caught up and walk around the indoor City in the museum for 30 minutes. The staff is incredibly helpful and helps you wear the Yukata. I love how the ceiling shows all the different times of the day when you're walking around the indoor city.

A nice little museum that documents evolution of housing in Osaka. I really liked the 1:1 replica of a typical neighbourhood during the Edo (?) period. They simulate both day and night scenarios, and you can enter some of the houses and shops. If you like diaoramas, you will love this museum. There are scaled miniature models featuring different eras of housing at the 8th sty.
Monnica M — Google review
I got the ticket with the special exhibition. The special exhibition was very simple probably not worth the extra. However, the main exhibition hall was impressive. They have simulation of day and night, as well as day with thunder shower! Get the audio guide for the full experience. Also watch the video that will be played every 30mins or so. The videos were nicely done. Enjoyed the trip here.
XJ Z — Google review
An interactive museum where you can dress up in old kimonos and walk around a simulated old era Japan, as well as having multiple photoshopping locations. Museum also has souvenir shops and overall a great immersive experience.
Aviator C — Google review
This museum is an amazing place to witness the housing and life style of Osaka residents few centuries back. The museum has several model houses built the ancient way, decorated with items and home goods products of that time. They play a short movie every 15-20 minutes to explain the historical aspect of each of the house in the museum, including annual festivals and rituals that residents used to follow. It takes about 30 minutes to explore the space. They also have kimono rental here. I have seen some visitors renting them to take photos around the houses. After existing the houses, the museum has few more section and exhibitions related to growth and modernization of Osaka city. There’s also a small museum shop and restrooms after existing this area. Overall it was a nice, and more importantly indoor, place to visit to learn plenty about history of Osaka.
Nehal A — Google review
It’s inside a mall (?) top floor. There’s no line when we arrived. We used Osaka Amazing Pass so did not have to purchase tickets. Cool museum to show old Osaka life style. They have a short film and kimono experience if you would like to. It’s mainly display houses and items. Some you can actually go inside the houses. They have tours if you wish to sign up. We spent maybe 1 hour there. Experiencing and feeling the old city gives another taste among the modern city we have lived

Takoyaki restaurant
Hanadako is a popular spot in Shin-Umeda Shokudogai known for its delicious takoyaki, a classic Japanese snack originating from Osaka. The place is always bustling with locals lining up to savor their famous negi-mayo takoyaki, which features grilled octopus spheres topped with green onions and mayo. Despite the long queues, the service at Hanadako is fast and efficient.
Line up to eat on the counter or get to-go (faster service). We opted to get to-go. There is a guy that ushers you to another shorter line for to-go (they specifically tell you to not eat around the stand if you are getting to-go). Menu is all Japanese. We saw a good mix of locals and tourists here on a Saturday afternoon. We got a standard 8-piece takoyaki and it was delicious. They are very generous with the octopus pieces in each ball! Recommend.
Tj B — Google review
The place was a bit hard to locate but definitely worth the effort. The balls were perfectly cooked and generously loaded with spring onion and various sauces. I had the best Takoyaki ever. Highly recommended!
Saheb K — Google review
We went for an afternoon snack around 4 pm and the line was huge, but it moved fast — we only waited about 10 minutes. We chose the takeout option, so we got served even quicker. Got the 8-piece takoyaki for under 800 JPY an absolute steal! Freshly made, super tasty, with a big piece of octopus inside. Great snack, great spot, totally worth the wait.
Nicoló D — Google review
Though the waiting line looks long but it only took 10 minutes to wait and I think the time I spent was worthwhile. The takoyaki with scallion is amazing probably is the best takoyaki I've ever eaten
Cjs._.w — Google review
Did not disappoint. Watched Mark Wiens YouTube video and tried it out myself. Came early at slightly after 10AM and the queue was ok. We waited for about 20mins. Great experience

Hanadako is a popular takoyaki shop located in the Osaka New Umeda Shokudo-gai, conveniently situated next to the train station. The shop constantly attracts crowds of people eager to enjoy their delicious takoyaki. You have the option to dine in or take out, with takeout typically being faster. For dine-in, you’ll have to wait until seats are available. The seating is limited to a small standing counter that accommodates 8-9 people. After placing your order, you can enjoy your takoyaki while watching the chef skillfully prepare them, creating a lively atmosphere. We ordered 10 takoyaki for just 1050 yen, which is very affordable. The takoyaki comes topped with a generous amount of green onions and mayonnaise, forming a literal “mountain” of toppings. The takoyaki themselves are delicious — crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with tender, chewy octopus pieces. You can also add chili powder (which isn’t too spicy) for an extra kick, transforming the flavor in a delightful way. Overall, this is a highly recommended spot, and it’s clear why it’s so popular!
李厂长来了 — Google review
Great Takoyaki! Flavorwise, it was fantastic. The octopus portion in each Takoyaki was good. I just wished it was a lot more crispy on the exterior. Take note that if you are ordering from here, the eating-in option means standing by their store to eat which may require about 5-15 minutes of waiting. While the take away option requires you to leave anywhere near the station as you are not allowed to eat at the premises.
Wee Y — Google review
Went within 30min of opening, 15 min wait. Counter setup allowed us to see the process. Ordered both original and with green onions. The taste was flavourful, including the fresh green onions. Planned to go back again!

Negiyaki Yamamoto Umeda EST Shop is a long-standing restaurant that has been serving its specialty negiyaki pancakes since 1965. The restaurant features an open kitchen and can accommodate up to 46 seats. It is conveniently located inside the Osaka Noren Meguri food court near the Shinkansen ticket gates at Shin-Osaka Station, making it a great stop for travelers heading to Tokyo, Nagoya, or other destinations.
Awesome Osaka okonomiyakis. Extremely fresh, tasty and so filling. We had the Kaisen (Seafood) Deluxe-Negi and Kaki (oyster) Negi which is a winter offering only. The tables have built in hot plates to keep the served Okonomiyakis warm throughout which is a nice touch. Place does get filled up quickly so recommend coming earlier (or later) than usual meal times.

Ordered the deluxe yakisoba and Okonomiyaki. Both were good and was a cool experience. Minimum of 1 order per person. Not allowed to take photos of the kitchen area
Charles K — Google review
⚠️ at least order one item per person⚠️ English mean available with pictures for some of items, starting from ¥880 Okonomiyaki taste good while Negiyaki is a bit dry without topping and sauce like mayonnaise on top. Food served on the heating panel on every table in whole piece and served yourself.
Jacky P — Google review
Great service, waitress always refill the ice water without prompting. However no photos of the main grill. One person one okonomiyaki was just nice and does not make you feel too full. Taste wise - flour amount was ok and quite substantial ingredients.
HLC — Google review
They are known for negi yaki (green onions instead of cabbage). I ordered the most popular suji negi yaki, while it doesn’t have much meat inside, so probably should go with another option clearly stating more meat ingredient. Yakisoba is delicious, strongly recommended. Also note that no pictures of the kitchen.
Joy Z — Google review
Great restaurant serving negiyaki which is basically spring onion version of the okonomiyaki! The taste is interesting for those who have not tried. I highly recommend but I still prefer the original okonomiyaki because it is much more tastier. Spring onion version taste like eggy with lots of spring onion taste. Not much sauce taste. Staff of the store is very good and friendly, can speak English as well. Long queue as it’s popular with Japanese as well as tourist. Side note, you will stink after eating with smell of stick to your clothing. Best to eat late at night.
Shawn — Google review
If you like Negi (Japanses spring onion), then you might like this place. Negiyaki replaced cabbage in okonamiyaki with Negi, and so it has a softer texture. This store is famous and can be really busy, so you may have to queue up a bit. Or you can have a late dinner to avoid the crowds. You can make the order once when you enter the store, so make sure you order enough for yourself. 1 main item is usually enough for one person, but you can do with an extra side dish, and a large eater might need 1.5 potion.
T T — Google review
We had one special beef and Konjac Okonomyiaki and one shrimp Negiyaki, which is basically the same pancake but replaced cabbage in okonamiyaki with Negi (green onions). We liked the beef Okonomyiaki more than the Negiyaki though (maybe because it had soy sauce and mayo on top which gives it more flavor) This restaurant can be very busy, so you might have to queue up. Also during these busy times, you’ll have to make your order before entering the store, and once you make your order you cannot add anything else, so make sure you order enough for yourself. We liked it very much and would recommend the place

Ramen restaurant
"Ramen アゲイン" is a newly opened ramen spot in Kitahama, Osaka managed by Yoshinori Hayashi. The place has gained attention for its delicious salt ramen made with a seafood-based soup and served with flavorful Kurao pork char siu and straight noodles. Visitors have praised the friendly owner and highly recommend this restaurant for a delightful dining experience.
The ramen is very flavourful and the portion is big. I like the miso flavour. Please prepare cash since you can only buy the food from a machine. Bonus point! They offer changes if you only get large amount bank notes!

That was the best bowl of ramen I’ve ever had. As good as, or better than the spots you have to wait in long lines for. The staff was so kind and friendly, I will come back any time I am in Osaka. I ordered the spicy miso, my wife ordered the spicy soy sauce and the picture is of hers.

Best ramen I've ever had, coming from someone who's come to Japan three times and tried 20+ different places! The ramen is crafted perfectly and expertly, each ingredient is amazing on its own. The meat is tender, the egg is so delicious and creamy, the noodles are the perfect size and hardness, and the soup is just DELICIOUS! The spicy miso is a MUST TRY - I don't typically have spicy soups, but it was so flavourful delicious. We had to come back multiple times. The waitstaff are so kind and helpful. The owner is very passionate about what he does, and it's reflected in these perfect bowls of ramen.

Good ramen, I ordered the second most flavour which is spicy miso port ramen, not too spicy. ramen absorbed all the taste of the soup. but the soup is bit salty at the bottom. U may need to wait in line in the weekends lunch time.

We visited this Ramen spot after a train ride into Osaka from Kyoto. This was thr best ramen we have had since being in Japan! A flavourful spicy miso broth topped with succulent thinly sliced pork, a jammy egg and bouncy noodles. We were also impressed by the free accompaniments and additions (ginger, garlic, etc) which you can add to your ramen. The service was top notch, a very friendly and welcoming resturant. Highly recommend getting your ramen fix here whilst in Osaka :)

Takoyaki Wanaka in Ten-yon (Ten 4) is a cozy spot that specializes in Japanese street food, offering a variety of tasty treats such as seafood-filled rice balls and refreshing beer. One of their popular dishes is the takoyaki, a doughy ball filled with octopus and topped with savory takoyaki sauce, mayo, dried seaweed, and bonito flakes. These delectable balls are grilled to perfection in a special circular pan.

Nakanoshima Park, established in 1891, is Osaka's first public park and a serene escape from the bustling business district. Situated on a man-made island between two rivers, it offers picturesque views and various attractions. Visitors can explore a library, ceramics museum, and a beautiful rose garden boasting over 300 varieties of roses. The park also hosts group yoga and dance sessions and provides an ideal setting for picnics.
It was such a lovely experience walking along the river in the park. The scenery was beautiful, especially with the sakura in full bloom. A peaceful and picturesque spot, perfect for a relaxing stroll.

This island in the middle of the busy city is a good place to relax. The rose garden, from early summer to autumn is colourful and scented. The old, brick-built city hall and ceramic museum are also worth a visit. If you like jogging or walking, you start at the park and, without having to deal with cars, go on foot all the way to the Yodo River and beyond (as far as Kyoto!).

Yesterday was wonderful day. The sun was bright and out. It was breezy and really good to be out. I went to Nakanoshima Rose Garden, the roses were beautiful. There was an event held yesterday, there were foods stalls, music, and some performances. It was nice to see a lot of people enjoying all and a little nature. It was by the river with lots of restaurants and cafe’s around. I enjoyed the a little picnic at Nakanoshima Lawn Square, read a book and just enjoyed the breeze and beautiful view. I think it’s perfect for family and friends.

A must visit rose park during May when the roses are in full bloom - you can smell roses all around the park, and there’s so many different beautiful variants. We visited both during the day and during the night, it’s equally enjoyable. Also, make sure you take a stroll along the river, there’s a lot of cafes and things to see.

after finishing my coffee at Brooklyn, I visited this park. it’s located just across the coffee shop, separated by a river, so it was within walking distance. when I got to the park, some of the flowers were already in bloom. it was so beautiful, the flower beds were full of vibrant colors. everyone was taking pictures of them. the park is also perfect if you just want to chill on the grass or go for a run. I wish I had worn my workout clothes, I definitely would’ve gone for a run in that beautiful green space.

Nakanoshima Park (中之島公園) is a serene oasis in the heart of Osaka, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park is beautifully landscaped with lush greenery, seasonal flowers, and wide open spaces that make it ideal for a leisurely walk or a peaceful afternoon. The paths are well-maintained and provide lovely views of the river on both sides, with plenty of benches to sit and relax while watching the boats go by. For those looking to unwind, the park has a calm and tranquil atmosphere, making it a great spot for a quiet stroll or even a picnic. It’s especially lovely during spring when the roses are in full bloom at the rose garden. The blend of natural beauty and urban surroundings creates a relaxing environment that is perfect for couples, families, or anyone needing a break. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Osaka and seeking a peaceful retreat in the middle of the city!

What a wonderful place, the park, the river, the buildings and how clean and well organised!

It's a truly beautiful park, and although many roses in the rose garden have already withered, you can still enjoy their lovely fragrance. If I had visited a month earlier, I think the scenery would have been absolutely stunning.

The Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka is a pottery museum located in Nakanoshima Park. It houses an impressive collection of East Asian pottery spanning over 2 millennia, featuring pieces from Persia, Vietnam, China, Korea and Japan. The museum's focus is mainly on Chinese and Korean ceramics but also includes Japanese items. Visitors can admire the exquisite works displayed in natural light and may find themselves developing a newfound appreciation for the art of pottery after exploring this exceptional collection.
This is a world class museum. People should not be deterred if they think they don't know a lot about ceramics. The information provided in English is comprehensive and allows you to fully enjoy the entire exhibition. The space itself is amazing. Enjoy the viewing rooms overlooking the river.

Visited for the exhibit ‘Celadon Masterpieces from China and Korea’ in September 2025. They also house a permanent collection of amazing Korean ceramics from the Rhee Byung-Chang Collection. If possible, check out moco-chan, an adorable Korean tiger they’ve animated from a piece of porcelain from the second half of the 18th century in the current exhibit.

We discovered the museum through Google Maps because we were heading to the bookstore near there. We went on September 21st (Sunday) around 4 p.m there was no one in line and few people inside. The adult ticket cost about €12, which we thought was expensive considering the contents. We really liked the building's interior architecture. And the cafe next door where we had lunch. Regarding the exhibition, I have no criticism. You can see it well in 30 minutes; there weren't any outstanding works. Overall, if you have free time, I recommend visiting, but perhaps without going into the exhibition.

A beautiful museum for those interested in ceramics and Chinese and Japanese culture. Some items date back to B.C., which is quite impressive. The museum is also equipped with a highly advanced anti-earthquake system. Photography is allowed. No need to buy tickets in advance. They accept both card and cash and there is also a locker room to store your items for 100 yen.

Passed by, didn't have time to go in, but spent a while avoiding the clean details of the architecture from the outside. The contrasting steel stair care against the tiles facade made for an interesting composition.

Nestled just a short five-minute stroll from Hattori-Tenjin Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line, Hattori Tenjingu is a unique shrine dedicated to the god of feet. This charming location draws many locals, including students from nearby Daisho Gakuen High School. Each year on August 25th, visitors flock to celebrate the foot protection prayer festival, an event that honors this rare deity in Japan and offers blessings for healthy legs.
(Translated by Google) I visited the shrine on July 7, 2025. It's a 2-3 minute walk from Hattori Tenjin Station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line. It's also close to Umeda. It's a shrine that can be visited even in the hot summer. The goshuin is a summer-only wind chime that costs 800 yen, but usually costs 500 yen. There are also paper cutout goshuin (1000 yen). The cool sound of the wind chimes helps to ease the heat, but they are a great accent for taking photos and videos. It was a weekday, so there were only two groups of visitors, and I was able to receive the goshuin without having to line up. Since it is the god of the feet, I prayed to be able to continue to visit cafes in good health. On his way to Dazaifu, where he was exiled, Sugawara no Michizane was attacked by a foot ailment, and after praying at the shrine for recovery, he was cured and was able to travel to Dazaifu safely. It seems that Michizane is also enshrined here. Incidentally, the sacred tree of Tenjingu Shrine grows on the platform of Hattori Tenjin Station, the nearest station. Okonomiyaki restaurant
Umeda Okonomiyaki Izakaya Fuwatoro is a cozy and unique restaurant located near hotels. The one-man show-run establishment offers a humorous introduction via a how-to-order video, adding to the fun atmosphere. The Japanese menu, which can be translated using Google Camera, features quirky items like "Speak ill of the manager." The okonomiyaki served here is made with okara (bean curd) and comes in generous portions.
Probably the craziest and most chaotic place we ate in Japan but we loved it. We were greeted enthusiastically by the one man running the show, happily telling us he could accommodate vegetarian okonomiyaki. His enthusiasm and good vibes were welcome after a long day. The portions were generous and the food was awesome, great experience overall! Definitely a unique opportunity to enjoy during your time in Osaka.

They had great music playing, mostly punk/pop punk and some T Swift obv, the gentleman working was HOT, hilarious, and super friendly, and the okonomiyaki was so savory and saucy and delicious! You get your own drinks and squeeze a rubber chicken when you do which was very fun. The decor was weird and funky and once again PUNK af. Love it.

Completely unique experience. The managers friendliness and energy is unmatched and the food is awesome. I’m a big eater but couldn’t finish a single serve of the delicious okonomiyaki. Truly one of a kind experience that everyone should try while visiting Osaka!

The place is run by only one person. Although he is quite nice and energetic (ocasioanlly too energetic), he cannot take care of everything. The place is pretty much self-serve and self clean. There was no soap in the bathroom, and the place overall is far from clean. Given the tight space and lack of big tables, I recommend this place for groups of at most 3 people, unless you don't have an issue sitting at different tables. Also, some of the spaces are quite tight and uncomfortable. The food is quite good and plenty.

Nice guy, good vibes and very good food! Lange portions. He made the food vegetarian for me. Thanks for that! We had a lot of fun there. Do not press "yes" when the ordering-machine asks you about surprises unless you can handle it :D. We did not eat the surprise (I think it is only when you order a side dish) but we were really surprised :D

Such a fun experience! Very small place full of character, there is one incredible guy who welcomes guests, cooks, cleans, and all with a smile on his face. One of the few places where you can get a great vegetarian okonomoyaki! The portions are huge and cheap. We loved it and we are recommending it to everybody. A tip: he is very generous with the okonomoyaki sauce, ask for sauce on the side if you’re not a big fan of it

My dad found this place when we were in Osaka and we decided to have dinner here. It was literally the most fun, interesting, and welcoming experience we’ve had in Osaka. The food was glorious, the atmosphere of the place was so fun, and the owner was so kind and friendly! My dad spoke to him in English and the owner did his best to communicate back, bless his heart. Prices of food were good, and it was a lot of food! I’m definitely coming back when I return to Japan at the end of this year!

After eating at western-style restaurants in Tokyo that were very demure, so to speak, this high energy, cozy, and amazingly tasty spot was a breath of fresh air. Make sure you scan their QR code for instructions on how to order. It’s fun! While it appears gyoza wasn’t on the menu, a big highlight for me was they were able to modify a number of the dishes to be vegetarian. The yakisoba is killer, and the owner very kind and fun.

Steak house
On May 9th, I visited Sandaya-honten Toyonaka, a steak house that has caught my interest for some time. Despite not making a reservation, I was smoothly guided inside the store. The elegant view of the lush green hedge through the window caught my eye as I settled at a table for two.
(Translated by Google) It was my first time at the Toyonaka store. There is a grand piano in the spacious restaurant, and you can request from the song list, so you can enjoy your meal while listening to wonderful live music. Everything was really delicious, but the highlight was the prosciutto. It's soft and doesn't have any unnecessary saltiness, making it so delicious that you'd think raw ham would be like this. Considering the atmosphere and food, the cost performance is good. The experience started very well with the lunch set offering free servings of their in house ham served with a superb carrot dressing. Everything was going well until three of us who ordered the hamburger sets noticed a funny taste. The chef had forgotten to unwrap the plastic around the cheese and it had melted into the sizzle plate, causing a strange burnt taste and smell. We returned all three dishes half or less eaten. The manger apologized profusely but to our surprise didn't bring out fresh sets! He brought out, without asking a free dessert for each of us..we never ordered the dessert set in the first tolace so I have no idea how he thought we might be ok with that. I was in no mood for dessert when I hadn't eaten my meal yet. It was a formal function I was attending and didn't want to kick up a fuss so I let it go. However they should've comped the three meals or re-cooked and served them. We were charged for them as usual and given some free curry ( boil in a bag type) on our way out. Quite disappointed with how they delay with that and I had to eat lunch again after. Definitely would not go again especially as lunch starts at around 4,000 yen per plate there.

Nestled in Toyonaka, Hokusetsu, Osaka, "イタリアンレストラン LA VERITA" is a delightful Italian restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in exquisite cuisine, this charming eatery has something for everyone. Guests rave about the delicious dishes crafted with care and attention to detail.
(Translated by Google) I went to dinner with my family to celebrate my 20th birthday. Starting with the specialty course, steamed vegetables, you can tell that every dish is carefully prepared. It was delicious, with a gentle flavor and a good balance. I ordered a separate cake for our anniversary, but this cake was also handmade and delicious! The strawberry gelato that came with it was light and went well with it. We also enjoyed a variety of Italian wines. There was also a selection of soft drinks. I would like to visit you for lunch next time.

(Translated by Google) I visited LA VERITA, the restaurant behind the much talked about Four Toxins Removal, for the first time. ✨ The restaurant is located on the basement floor. The atmosphere is lovely as you enter the door. Today, I ordered the Four Toxins Removal Omakase Lunch. ① First, the vegetables. 😊 The vegetables are steamed at 400°C. While they're delicious without the sauce, they also come with tomato sauce. The colorful vegetables were all soft and fluffy, pairing perfectly with the tomatoes. It was delicious. 🤤 ② Next, the cold corn soup. The soup had a subtle sweetness and wasn't too cold. ③ Bread made from rice flour. Two adorable loaves. Both were firm and hard on the outside, slightly soft on the inside, with a hint of salt and sweetness. They were delicious. They might even taste better with the soup. 🤙 ④ The main course was octopus and summer vegetable pasta. The pasta had firm noodles and a slightly bitter flavor. The vegetables included were, I believe, octopus, bitter melon, eggplant, corn, cauliflower, and tomato. I think the flavor might be a matter of personal preference. ⑤Finally, dessert: chocolate cake and hot coffee. The chocolate cake was beautiful, with a detailed cat design painted in cocoa on the plate. The taste was bitter with a hint of sweetness. It was chewy and had a lingering flavor. I had black coffee. It was just delicious. ✨ Overall, I'm grateful for the excellent service, especially since there aren't many restaurants that offer a "4"-free option. The service was attentive. If I had to choose, it would be great to try the carbonara or meat. I'd definitely come back. 🙂‍↕️ I also bought some rice flour donuts to take home. They were sesame and chocolate. They're best eaten slightly warm.

It didn't seem crowded, so I was able to enjoy my meal in a relaxed manner. A course meal, left to the chef's discretion. First, a plate of warm vegetables. The hot sauce is very rich and delicious. And white asparagus and prosciutto. The prosciutto tastes just right, not too salty. Firefly squid pasta and beef steak. The bread also had a unique texture and was very delicious. We finished off with the tiramisu that we had requested. All delicious and healthy. Also recommended for women. The owner has trained in authentic Italy and recommends Italian food that is good for your body. He is also familiar with Italian wine and pairs it with food. This time I visited for lunch. Leggera course 1,480 yen appetizer, bread, focaccia, pasta, This is the course. Our recommended appetizer is the vegetable fondue made in a 400℃ steam oven. Steaming vegetables preserves their nutrients. The texture is good, and above all, the selected Gorgonzola sauce is rich. This is a high-class bagna cauda. Bread is focaccia and baguette. For pasta, choose bacon and mushroom cream sauce. The texture of al dente pasta gives it an authentic feel. Ah, I've never been there lol Bacon and mushrooms are definitely a good choice. Luxurious from noon. And I also ordered Dolce. Espresso with black tea pound cake and blueberry gelato. The pound cake went well with the sugar in the espresso. The less sweet gelato is also good. This time I visited by car, so next time I will visit by train so that I can have some wine. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal (*´∇`*) (Original)

Hattori Ryokuchi Park, located just a short train ride north of Osaka city, offers a unique blend of traditional rural architecture and modern recreational facilities. The park features an open-air museum showcasing traditional residential architecture, including the iconic gassho-zukuri houses of Shirakawago. Visitors can explore the expansive grounds, which include two barbecue areas, a flower park, and a concert amphitheater.
Its a nice and big park actually. Its free and has lots of amenities and activities to do such as childrens playground, BBQ and camping area, tennis court, museum and a lot more. Its really good for families especially with those who have kids and pets

I visited this place in the last few days of October. Some trees are beginning to change into autumn leaves. Place is full of locals and not very popular for tourists, mainly because of location but it’s accessible by train (Midosuji line) there are historic houses/buildings and the rest of the park is clean, peaceful and perfect for picnics.

The Japanese Folk Houses Museum in Hattori Ryokuchi Park is an architectural and cultural museum that relocates and exhibits typical 'minka' houses from the north-east to the south of Japan. Minka refers to the houses of the common people. Most of the houses on display here are farmhouses. Due to the long length of the Japanese archipelago, the climate differs greatly between the southern and northern parts of the country. As a result, the shapes of minka and the construction methods used vary greatly from region to region. In this minka garden, visitors can compare and learn about these regional differences. Minka is not very decorative, but you can feel the Japanese view of nature in the primitive and elegant appearance of the wooden structure.

I do jogging there. It is a good place for that if you circle around it with lot of shade, same if you just want to tbke walk. There is even a small bamboo area. If you go inside the park on evening the central plaza kind of become skater territory. Big playground to kids. So not so many shade if going in the center.

(Translated by Google) I was grateful that Aeon was offering such a big discount, and when I put some items with discount stickers on them in my basket, several staff members came out from the back and started sticking half-price stickers and price stickers on the remaining prepared foods. I asked if this was okay since they were the same products, and they firmly replied, "We don't put stickers on items that have been kept!". It was my first time using this store, and I hadn't kept them, and I had asked them if they were the same products, so I thought that was the wrong way to say it. I had no choice but to return them and exchange them for the prepared foods that had stickers on them, but they just took the items I had left behind and discarded them. Several other people had also been told this and returned their items, but they were also collecting them, so I wondered if they didn't want to give a discount and were intentionally putting stickers back on them. As I watched the staff members put the discount stickers on, they didn't start off with half-price stickers, but started with 10%, and then they put stickers on in small increments, and I watched from the back as the customers took them away. If a customer takes away a 10% discounted item, the remaining same item will be discounted by 20%. They changed the prices like that, and when the customer pointed it out, they refused and took the items back. If that's the case, they shouldn't have offered discounts in the first place, but I guess they're just trying to cover it up by saying they're a member of the SDGs. It wasn't just one employee, all the employees who put the discount stickers on were treated the same, and they kept their names secret, so it was clearly planned. What angered me was that they assumed I wanted to keep the items and said they wouldn't put them on, and by "keep," I mean putting in multiple items that don't have discount stickers and asking them to put stickers on them. I didn't stay there for hours, so I don't think it was the right way to say it. It was really unpleasant because other stores would properly put the stickers back on for me.

The Café and Buffet "CHAGALL" is a part of a series of shops at the Expo. Despite its popularity, it is relatively easy to find a spot here as it offers online reservations. However, when I presented my discount coupon at the checkout, it turned out I could only use one of the following: ① Member benefits, ② Set discount, or ③ Coupon, so it didn't feel like much of a bargain. As for the meal itself, it was absolutely amazing and I was impressed. Needless to say, the highlight was the fried shrimp. They were long, probably about 25cm, and very plump. I thought the oil might have been a little too hot, so maybe it was too much, but that's the chef's preference, so I enjoyed it. They only gave out 23 shrimp at a time, so it was difficult to eat a large amount, so I divided it into several portions and ate a total of 8. I didn't try the steak or tempura this time, so I can't speak to their taste. This hotel is going out of business in March of next year, so if you're planning to eat there, it might be best to go early. The main dish, the freshly grilled steak pictured here, is the worst (;´Д`) It's crunchy and smells like red meat in curry or something.💦 If you're going to serve something like that, it's better to remove it from the menu 💦 I wonder if the others are buying really cheap low quality hors d'oeuvres and lining them up? The worst pattern is that if you use the main ingredient to attract attention, it will taste bad🤣 The person who thought this has no management talent🤣🤣 It's just damaging the company's image. From now on, I have the impression that Hankyu food is low quality and tasteless, so I will no longer go to Hankyu hotels. The staff is quick to respond, which is good, but if the food is like this, the restaurant itself won't get a good review, so it's a pity. I would have given it a 1 star rating, but I added 1 star because the staff's response was quick and attentive, so I'm not giving it a lenient rating. The taste is so great that only people with extremely poor tongues can satisfy it ( ゚д゚) If I were to evaluate it based on taste alone, I'd say it's all you can eat for 1,500 yen. There is a wide variety of Japanese and Western food, rice, and bread, so I think it's something people of all ages can enjoy. None of the products are instant or commercially available, and all of them are carefully made. There aren't many types of desserts, but I've eaten a lot by then, so it's just right for me. A small quantity of a high-quality dessert is better than a large quantity of mass-produced desserts. I've been there twice so far, and my impression is that most of the customers are groups of three. Grandmas and grandpas bring their children and grandchildren out to eat during their summer vacation, and the children are noisy and lively, but since it's Senri, it's less noisy than Osaka's aunties (except for groups). While the prices may be on the higher side, the quality of their premium salted tongue is unparalleled—many consider it to be the best in Japan! The prices aren't cheap, so if you're looking for a cheap but delicious yakiniku restaurant, this one might not be for you. No matter which Tajimaya branch I go to, the meat is consistently delicious, so I love it so much that when this one is fully booked, like on weekends, I'll go to a different Tajimaya branch. The service is often polite, and they'll even offer to change the grill without me having to ask (depending on the day), which is really helpful. The only thing that bothers me is that the restroom is small and dark, and the sink is difficult to wash your hands in, so I'd be happy if they could renovate and clean it up. I finally entered the restaurant at 12:21. Unfortunately, the coarsely ground soba I was looking for was out of stock, so I ordered grated daikon radish soba. What was brought to me was grated daikon radish soba with seaweed, green onions, and bonito flakes on top of the soba. I couldn't tell from the menu that it was grated daikon radish soba, so I would have liked it if they had confirmed in advance if possible. If it doesn't say bukkake, I would have imagined it being served separately. I personally prefer grated daikon radish soba with a stronger soba aroma and flavor when served with soup, but it was still delicious. Thank you for the meal. Inside the store, there were six tables that seat four, two tables that seat two, and one table that seat one. It seemed like many people came alone. This time, I went with my partner on a tandem bike. We each had coarsely ground buckwheat. It was like 28% buckwheat flour soba, but it was moist and chewy, and had a good aroma. Ramen restaurant
Ramen Yashichi is a cozy little gem nestled in Osaka, perfect for those craving a delicious bowl of ramen. This charming eatery features a simple storefront and offers hearty noodle soup served at an inviting counter. What sets Ramen Yashichi apart is its innovative ticketing system that eliminates the hassle of long lines, allowing diners to enjoy their day while waiting for their meal.
Ticket system with hours. Convenient because don't have to wait in line at the front but the negative point is that you have to eat quickly There are two people working there and they were very nice. The lady distributes the tickets and helps to order at the terminal. She also gave me an English menu. I ate here twice, the soy sauce noodles topped with bbq pork is delicious and the meat is tasty and melts in the mouth. The first time I ordered with extra noodle (140g) and an extra egg but it was too big a portion, the second time I took the small bowl of rice + meat and poured the noodle sauce into it : it was delicious

Quiet, intimate, and truly special. There are clear guidelines (no talking, no phones) which help create a calm atmosphere. The full dining experience took 2.5 hours (with a waiting list), which I didn’t expect, but it was completely worth it. The owners were lovely and welcoming, and the food was simply outstanding. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something unique.

Simply one of the best ramen I've ever had. The simple, but clever, ticketing system indicated when we could come and eat. There was already a small queue outside at 10:15, half an hour before official opening. We got a ticket stating the time 11:07 when we could return. The place itself is very atmospheric, and the foot is excellent. It was great to have a quick chat with them to give thanks for the food. I really hope I'll be fortunate enough to visit Osaka again and enjoy another bowl.

The wait outside was not bad. They give you a ticket with a number and an estimated time so you can walk around and come back if you wish. The cook spoke enough English to explain the ordering machine. I got the top option with soy sauce and my wife got the one under it with salt. We both agreed the top one is definitely better. Would like to try the spicy dipping sauce one some time. It only seats about ten so when you come in and order from the machine you still will stand inside watching people eat. It’s not as awkward as you think as most people are looking at phones while waiting or eating. Fantastic noodles if I didn’t say that already. I like the style of noodles here, almost pasta like in texture. Just be sure the hurry and eat and not sit around talking so others can eat! I would add that for Being such a small place it had a lot of customers who were English speaking, My wife and I were not the only ones. As my wife said “I guess that’s what happens with good internet reviews!”

We discovered Ramen Yashichi in Dec 2013, quite by accident. We stayed at a hotel nearby, and saw a very long queue outside the restaurant, so like good Singaporeans, we decided to join the queue. We have been back every time we visit Osaka. So why do I find it great? Firstly, the noodle is made in-house by the chef, great texture. The broth is at the right temperature, so it doesn’t continue to cook the noodles after it has been served; this is important as the ramen can get overcooked like good spagetti and meepok. The broth is rich but not too salty like many other ramen shops. He heats each serving of the broth separately with each order. The char siew has the right mix of lean and fat meat, tender. He also pan fries a separate serving of pork bits (see top left of the bowl) so that there’s a good amount of wok hey aroma in them. The topping is generous with different types of greens (sorry if you’re a vegetable hater!) and a dash of sesame. I only wish the onsen egg was a bit more runny. The restaurant only sits 10. Here you order from the ticket machine, sit and watch your order being cooked, slurp it all up and leave. No chit chatting as there’s usually a long queue of people waiting in the cold outside for their turn! The friendly service is provided by a lady (assume she’s the chef’s wife). They even provide umbrellas outside if it rains and you have to queue to get in. The price has gone up to 1200 yen since we started coming here but it is still great quality food at this price, especially when compared to Singapore’s ramen which cost between $15 and $20 these days. As many of you realise, I don’t post pictures of my food. This is an exception. 👍 PS the queue for the queue numbers start at 10.15am Mon-Fri. The restaurant opens at 10.45am. Queue starts forming at 9.50am.

Amazing ramen! He is specialised in chicken paitan soup blended with soy sauce. I loved the smoked flavour in the broth. The noodles also had a rich taste. I think he made them by himself. I reccomend the extra BBQ chicken meat! It’s amazing! The shop is not big: 3 chairs at the counter and two tables so, even in a week day, there is usually 1h wait. They have a good system of ticket, so you don’t have to wait in line. The shop is not far from Umeda, so you can go for a walk.
