Day-use onsen
Day spa
Miharashi-no-Yu Hot Spring is a popular onsen in Hachijojima, offering indoor and outdoor baths with stunning views of the coast and ocean. The facility has separate bathing areas for men and women, each with its own unique view. It's recommended to visit two days in a row to experience both sides. The hot spring is accessible by bus, but there are no nearby dining options, so bringing your own food is advised. Green tea is available for free.
The outdoor onsen has an excellent view of the sea. I visited during the evening and enjoyed looking into the ocean. You can see few whales at far also.

A nice Onsen overlooking the sea, too bad abit cloudy. I was using the Bus-pa 2 days pass using mobile app. The network here wasn’t that good. But managed to connect to an unsecured wifi. The towel here cost $300 yen. Advice to bring your own, in my case a souvenir.
Steven S — Google review
Awesome spot for 500yen only, with a stunning atmosphere and view and a friendly staff. But it gets packed fast. Was lucky to enjoy it by myself for a while before so many people showed up.
Fiso — Google review
There's 2 bathrooms for men and women as same as other onsen. One of them has extremely good ocean view. And the rooms exchange based on the number of date, even number or odd number. So I recommend you to come here 2 days in a row. And bus comes just few times a day. There's no place to eat around here. So I recommend you to bring some food. Green tea is free of charge with self-service.
Ahimsa 4 — Google review
The hot spring which represents the island. As it is common in Japan this hot spring divides men and women for their baths and it changes daily who can enter the "beautiful" side of the hot spring. However, I have been to the both sides and I'd argue that both are equally beautiful. You can enjoy the ocean view from both sides so no worries there.
Mantas J — Google review
We enjoyed the beautiful star while in hot spring! We will visit again!
Akiko K — Google review
Very nice outdoor pool Onsen, which actually was second or third best in Japan. Views are great, facing south, so while you can’t see the sunset directly, you can see the sun go down behind the mountains. As they switch the pools daily between gents and ladies, should go at least twice. Admission was 500 yen, so it’s on the pricey side, but I’d say it’s definitely worth it twice.
J K — Google review
No frills onsen with a fantastic view of the mountains and ocean. Note that while we had the onsen pretty much to ourselves (mid-June), the onsen is reportedly packed during most other seasons. This onsen does not have food or onsite massage. Just the onsen with a Hachijoujima towel you can purchase.

(Translated by Google) January 28, 2025 You can enjoy beautiful views from anywhere on Hachijojima, but there are eight must-see viewing spots. One of them is the Nago Observatory. It is a spectacular spot where you can see the waterfall flowing between the cliffs on the right and the vast Pacific Ocean on the left. However, the floor of the dressing table is rotten, so you need to be careful ⚠️.

(Translated by Google) This place is also famous for viewing the harvest moon. However, the moon was only 3.7 days old on this day, making it difficult to enjoy the view. It's also said that if the weather is good, it's possible to see Aogashima, but we arrived at 5:50 PM. As you can see, there was no view of the horizon. So... Nago Observation Deck, about 100 meters further back from here, shows a temporary closure on the map. There's a rope strung across the path leading to the observation deck. Perhaps it's a landslide or something? It's dangerous, so we turn back. The rest house is also locked and inaccessible. I peered inside, but it was empty, with only a table. They probably don't serve food or drinks there anymore. As I was heading back to my car, I happened to look around and noticed a stone monument. It was a memorial to the 16th Shin'yo Special Attack Unit. Shin'yo was a suicide weapon developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy at the end of the Pacific War. The boats were made of plywood, approximately 5m long and 1.7m wide, and were equipped with a 250kg bomb mounted on the bow, designed to crash into enemy ships. At the bottom of this stone monument is a plaque detailing the history of the 16th Shin'yo Special Attack Unit, and at the top is a stone slab engraved with the calligraphy of politician Abe Shintaro. Why is Abe Shintaro at this memorial for the kamikaze units? After researching, I found out that Abe joined the navy as a reserve student while attending Tokyo Imperial University. He was assigned to the kamikaze units, but the war ended before they could be deployed. He then became a politician who supported the turbulent postwar era. I feel like I've gotten a glimpse into the core of his political philosophy; my hands are in peace. Hachijō-jima is a volcanic island that boasts of traditional lodgings, hot spring resorts, campsites, multiple hotels and excellent surf spots. The most convenient mode of transportation around the island is by car or bicycle if you prefer this. To experience an adventure-packed weekend trip, taking a ferry ride to the island would be perfect. Although some restaurants may not offer English menus, researching online beforehand can help overcome any language barriers.
Absolutely one of my favorite places in Japan. The cheapest way to reach Hachijo Island from Tokyo is by ferry. This island is so beautiful, there are many activities to do, hiking, hot springs, swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling etc… I recommend to do the BUSPA, for 1000¥ you have unlimited bus rides and onsen for 2 days. Also you must climb Hachijo-fuji with its stunning views.

It was very windy there when I visited the Island last year after my 2nd attempt because the Airplane could not land due to strong winds. Clean-fresh air, good people, enjoyable stay. Was so busy that I forgot to mention it here 😜, in 3 days I’ll be visiting Tokyo Izu Oshima Island by Speed-Boat this time. 👍♥️

Very unique experience, would recommend a visit. 45 minute flight from Haneda Airport. Snorkeling is a must do! Not very English friendly as it is more rural but we got through our trip with google translate. Lodging was booked through hotels.com & rental car was arranged at airport. People are very friendly. Was a tad expensive for the few days we were there.

Easiest way to get around is by car, so if you can I'd highly suggest renting a car. If driving is not an option rental bicycle is another great alternative. Coming by ferry is quite the experience, perfect for the weekend (a few days) trip. Some restaurants might not have an English menu so might be worth checking out online before-hand if you speak 0 Japanese. Overall, lovely people, great harmonious places and awesome hot springs!

Outdoor Activities
Sokodo Beach, located on the stunning island of Hachijo-jima in Hachijo-machi, is a unique gem that stands out as the only man-made beach on the island. With its striking dark sand and well-maintained shower facilities, it offers a perfect spot for relaxation and fun. This beach is particularly famous for its incredible sea turtle sightings, making it a must-visit for snorkeling enthusiasts eager to explore vibrant marine life.
This beach is very safe, with lifeguards constantly on watch. Since it is located within a bay, even when the waves are rough in the open sea, it's still possible to swim in the bay. Sometimes the sun can be quite intense, and the lifeguards seem to work hard under the heat. Unlike other beaches, the bay has a sandy bottom, so there aren't many fish, but you can still spot plenty near the nearby rocks. This is one of the safest swimming areas on the island. Because of the sandy bottom, there’s no risk of injury from sharp marine life, and you can float freely on the water. The beach is equipped with showers and restrooms, making it very convenient.

Nice clean green emerald water, but can get dirty with plastics and other debris... Volcanic beach with black sands is tiny. Mountain view is nice. Parking and clean toilet and shower amenities are a nice add. Can be a good star viewing spot at night, although I found the stars to be not so shiny after all.

Ranches
The Fureai Ranch is a suitable place to visit for those who are physically fit and equipped with a touring bike. It is advisable to have a decent low gear and general fitness to climb with the bike, although walking it up is also an option. The advantage of ascending with a bike is that you can later descend via a different route, adding variety to your experience.
Hachijofuji Makino & Fureai Bokujo truly embodies the beautiful nature of Hachijojima. The expansive ranch offers breathtaking panoramic views that stretch endlessly across the ocean and the surrounding island. It's a remarkably peaceful and relaxing environment, a perfect escape from the ordinary. Watching the cows graze freely in such a picturesque setting is incredibly calming. The opportunity for interaction with the animals, including curious goats, adds a lovely, unique dimension to the visit, especially for kids. The fresh, refreshing air and the sheer scale of the landscape make it an ideal spot for a leisurely afternoon. It's a fantastic photo spot for capturing the vastness of the nature and the charm of the farm animals. This must-visit experience offers not just a view, but a profound connection to the island's serene beauty and agricultural life.
T P — Google review
I climbed with my touring bike definitely only recommend that if you have decent low gear and general fitness though you could walk it up with the bike I suppose. Benefit of going up with bike is that you can go up, then down later via different route for variety. Nothing overly special about this farm though you can get pretty close to the cows and calfs if lucky. Decent sights of the area in good weather. I also used this as a visit spot to spend bit of time waiting for the clouds to clear (if you time well clouds can disappear during afternoon) I gave it 4 stars mainly because this is the last stop for toilet or drinks before the hike and crater loop so I assume most will get here on the way up.

If you're looking for delicious ramen in Hachijojima, then head to Sakaike Nikurin at 麺's CLUB 酒池肉林. Victory is guaranteed when the presentation is beautiful. The base is gentle salt ramen, the seaweed has a strong aroma, and it's as delicious as you'd expect. Also, the presentation and taste are the same as the popular Nippori restaurant where there is sometimes a long line, which means that the taste of Hachijojima is popular in the city! I was so happy. The green noodles, perhaps due to the Asuka leaves kneaded into the noodles, go well with the rich seafood soup, and I think it's a flavor you won't find anywhere else. Although it's ramen rather than tsukemen, the soup was so rich and delicious that I wanted to split the soup. It was also nice that both tissues and wet tissues were always available at the desk. Also, I think this is a good place for people who want to try original local ramen and tsukemen using Asuha. The most recommended dish is the ``Spicy Seafood Tonkotsu Ramen.'' This is a classic rich pork bone seafood ramen with a really slightly spicy taste, and I think they serve the richest ramen on the island. ! For me, ``Ashitaba Seafood Pork Bone Tsukemen'' was impressive. A green soup with Asuka leaf added to the noodles kneaded with Asuka leaf, which is used in green juice. It was really interesting. This time, I ordered salted tonkotsu ramen with extra seaweed and small rice. It seems like you can choose the flavor, cotton type, hardness, etc., but I ordered everything as normal. The ramen that arrived looked like a diluted version of regular tonkotsu salt ramen. When I tried it, I felt that the soup was a little bland. When choosing a flavor, it may be best to choose a strong one. What bothered me a little more was that the garlic was amazing. After eating it, I felt quite anxious. The char siu was quite firm and I didn't think it would be suitable for ramen char siu. That's why it's a ★3. However, if you want to eat ramen in Hachijo, I think this is the place to go. There are ashitaba beer and tea which are very interesting! The parking is on the opposite side of the street and there are plenty of parking!

Great spot to spend your evening in an otherwise very quiet island. Friendly staff, great service, and excellent (if a bit pricey) food. Definitely try the local specialties, such as the shima-zushi. I visited three times during my five-day stay. (Note: Japanese menu only.)

I visited this restaurant about 10 years ago, Ryozanpaku, on Hachijojima Island, and they served very good food. I missed the chance to drive the ring road at the top of the island on a clear day, so I would like to go there again!
Jims G — Google review
The place for island's cuisine. Apparently they use fresh fish (caught in the morning) to serve the island's sushi every day thus the servings are limited. They also have ashitaba beer available, fried ashitaba, and other goodies! On the side note, it seems to get busy during the later hours so it's best to come a bit early. No wifi, but menu is in English (!). Parking is nearby.

A must visit restaurant with delicious food and great service. Very popular (for a good reason). Open till late in case you can’t get a reservation. Shimazushi, gratan, ashitaba tempura are among the highlights.

(Translated by Google) I visited the counter alone at 6pm on a weekday, and the food served was Hachijojima ingredients, and the izakaya (more Japanese-style) mainly featured local cuisine. Hachijojima is famous for fishing, and the quality of the fish dishes was as expected. Personally, I thought the soy sauce with crushed island chili peppers on the sashimi was punchy and unique, which was fantastic. I was sitting alone at the counter, but the chef was considerate and talked to me about various things about Hachijojima, so I had a great time. Considering that many of the local ingredients on Hachijojima are rare, and that ingredients from the mainland are more expensive than in Tokyo due to the boat fare, I felt that the price was reasonable and the quality was high. It is common knowledge that restaurants on remote islands are not of a high standard, but Ryozanpaku is among them and is highly recommended.

There was only one day available during my stay, and I was able to make a reservation on the condition that I would be seated once the previous guest had finished. I had sashimi, braised bonito cubes, island okra, and kusaya, and finished off with island sushi. The sake flowed well and it was absolutely delicious. It's no wonder that this popular restaurant is the pride of Hachijojima!

Asoko Sushi offers superb sushi at an affordable price, with a friendly and knowledgeable sushi chef who takes the time to explain the ingredients and even provides pictures of the fish used. The quality and freshness of the fish are outstanding, making for a delightful dining experience. While there is a slight drawback of tobacco smell in the restaurant, it does not detract from enjoying the delicious fish. The owner is also very welcoming, and reservations for their special chef's sushi are highly recommended.
Awesome sushis at an affordable price. The sushi chef was also very friendly and bothered to explain what sushi was made out from what fish with pictures of the fish and even detailed explanations of what is the recommended best order to eat them. Loved the quality and freshness of the freshly cut fish, although I wished the restaurant was smoke-free since there was a heavy tobacco smell, but nothing that prevented from enjoying the delicious fish.

Italian restaurant
Pizza Paradiso is a delightful eatery with excellent ambience and friendly staff. The quatroformagio pizza, while enjoyable, features an incredibly thin crust and could benefit from a more seasoned sauce. The lasagna is decent but would benefit from additional cheese and seasoning in the tomato sauce. The calzone stands out as the best among the three items ordered. Overall, Pizza Paradiso provides a satisfying dining experience that warrants a return visit.
The pizza was delightful, crafted from fresh ingredients. What truly stood out was the lemonade—it's exceptionally refreshing and bursting with citrus flavour, easily one of the best I've ever tasted. The restaurant itself is lovely, and the staff are incredibly kind and attentive.

The restaurant is very nice and the staff is very kind. We ordered the quatroformagio pizza and it was good. However, the crust is super thin and the sauce lacks seasoning. Nontheless we enjoyed it immensly! The lasagna is okay, could use more cheese and again seasoning in the tomato sauce could help. The calzone was pretty good, probably the better of the three items we ordered. Overall it was a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back :-)

To be honest, we didnt even expect that we could have such a delicious pizza in Hachijo island!! We were two people and had a salad and two pizzas. Its one star missing for the "service" is for them closing a bit early. (8;30 for Last order, 9pm for closing isnt it a bit too early??) But the restaurant is full of art, which was cool. the foods was amazing, the staff was kind. Thank you for the amazing dinner.
Akie D — Google review
Came here at the suggestion of a girl at the information booth on the island. Came here during lunch. The atmosphere is very down to earth. The breezeway from the dinning room our to the patio allows you to truly enjoy that “outdoor-indoor” living that you’d expect on an island. That being said the service was exceptional and came with a smile. The pizza was nothing to write home about. More dough than sauce (albeit, delicious dough) with sparse toppings leave you wanting more than what is offered. The price point is moderate for the island. Overall though, a lovely spot to grab a slice.

Ozato Tamaishi Wall, located in the Okago area of Hachijojima, is a historical tourist spot with a unique story. The stone wall was constructed by exiles who were banished to the island and showcases impressive craftsmanship that has stood the test of time. The wall is made of cobblestones brought from the coast and features hexagonal stacking, creating a visually stunning sight.

(Translated by Google) I feel the charm of the beauty of the countless balls, or rather circles. In fact, there is a legend on the island that says that when people who were exiled to Hachijojima went to carry the island's specialty jade stones, they got one rice ball 🍙 for each jade stone 🪨. It's on high ground, so when I learned that, I couldn't just look at it, and I became curious about what kind of people lived on the island and what their reasons were for carrying the stones.

(Translated by Google) Hachijojima is on the path of typhoons and has been frequently hit by them. For this reason, it is customary to surround houses with stone walls to protect against wind damage. This stone wall is one of the most elaborate stone walls on Hachijojima. Round stones of uniform size are piled up using an elaborate technique called "Roppo-zumi". Since the building that surrounded it was a camp, the effort and cost may not have been of concern. These round stones were collected from Yokoma Beach (Yokomagaura), about 1 km away. It seems that the exiles were paid one rice ball per stone to transport them. It is a cheap reward if you like. However, walking 2 km round trip consumes about 90 calories of energy. Since they also carry luggage, the consumption is estimated to be 1.5 times that, 135 calories. And since one rice ball is about 200 calories, it seems that the energy balance was somehow positive (although this is just a calculation...). By the way, there is a condition called "topophobia". It is a condition in which people have a strong aversion to clusters of small holes or bumpy things, but it seems that the size of the bumps that people react to varies from person to person. Some people are frightened by the size of a beehive, while others have difficulty taking close-up photos of compound eyes. And for me, the size of this stone wall seemed to be the "size." Gritting my teeth, I managed to take this much, but that was the limit. This is the result of having the opportunity to see a valuable cultural asset. I'm sorry. 2025.5.19

The Jersey Cafe in Hachijojima has gained popularity for its dairy products, which are made from the rich milk sourced from the freely ranged cows at Yuyu Ranch. Hachijo Botanical Park is a truly beautiful and lush hidden gem on the island, offering a unique experience that's a must-visit for any nature lover. The botanical garden is incredibly well-maintained, with various paths winding through diverse tropical plants and trees, making for a wonderfully relaxing stroll. What truly sets this park apart, however, is the magical phenomenon of the glowing mushrooms. Seeing these bioluminescent fungi softly illuminate the darkness was an absolutely unforgettable and almost surreal experience. It adds an incredible layer of wonder to an already peaceful setting. During the day, the air is so refreshing, and the nature is vibrant. This park perfectly blends education with a sense of wonder, making it ideal for both leisurely walking and exploring. It’s an experience you won’t find just anywhere, especially with the chance to witness the natural glow. The glowing mushrooms make it feel like stepping into a fairy tale.

There is also an area fenced off with small dear, called "Kyon" in Japanese which is a nice place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. (Translated by Google) It's a modest tourist spot. I've been traveling to Hachijojima about once a year for about 30 years, but this was my first visit. I was satisfied to learn about the island's ecosystem and learn about things related to it. The Hachijojima Muntjac is also cute ❤ I learned about Hachijojima Muntjac from the old manga Gaki Deka! It was a much smaller deer than I had imagined. There was a stuffed specimen at the Pricia Resort Hotel, which went out of business a long time ago, but the living Muntjac was completely different from the image I had of it. If you're here, I recommend seeing the Muntjac of Hachijojima. The tropical botanical garden was also a good learning experience. The way bananas, vanilla, and other tropical foods grow, and the traveler's tree (Tabibitonoki) were spectacular. The glowing mushrooms at the visitor center can be seen in an instant if you close the curtains, so I think it's a good idea to see them. There are also large stuffed turtles on display. In fact, when you go fishing on Hachijojima, you sometimes have the chance to see large turtles. Especially when fishing at night, I have seen turtles with heads as big as humans. Just looking at the stuffed turtles is impressive. I would especially recommend this to people visiting Hachijojima for the first time.

Despite the free admission, the garden is expansive and well-explored, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. What particularly impressed me was the abundance and diversity of plants. Surrounded by the impressive trees and flowers unique to the tropics, it felt like I'd wandered into another world. The greenhouse area was particularly impressive, allowing me to see rare tropical plants up close, and it was full of learning and amazement. The garden is also dotted with little delights, such as a delicious gelato shop. When you feel a bit tired from exploring the garden, it's a delight to enjoy a cool, sweet gelato. There's also an area where you can observe glowing mushrooms at night, a fantastical sight unique to Hachijojima. The different charms of day and night are also fascinating. As a government-run facility, I had a slightly stuffy impression of it, but it was actually a relaxing and exciting tourist spot. In addition to the impressive plants, there is also a combination of gourmet food and unique exhibits, making it a place that can be enjoyed by a wide range of people, from children to adults. It is a recommended park that is definitely worth stopping by when visiting Hachijojima. Udon noodle restaurant
Soba noodle shop
Meidai Ikkyuuan is a renowned eatery located on Hachijo Island that specializes in ashitaba soba and ashitaba udon, both of which feature the utilization of "Tomorrow's Leaf," a vitamin-rich plant found abundantly on the island. Visitors can explore an array of ashitaba-themed souvenirs at nearby shops, but this restaurant offers a unique opportunity to savor freshly made ashitaba soba, an experience not readily available elsewhere.
Overall tasted good, no English menu, but got goggle translation to do the job.

Meidai Ikkyuuan is a restaurant in Hachijo Island specialized in ashitaba soba and ashitaba udon. "Ashitaba" means "Tomorrow's Leaf" and is a plant typically found in Hachijo Island, very rich in Vitamin B. At the souvenir shops, you will find all things "ashitaba", but this restaurant is the chance to eat a fresh, homemade ashitaba soba - which you won't find so easily anywhere else. I ordered the tonkatsu soba just to make sure I would get full. And yes, I did!

If you find yourself on Hachijojima, a visit to すし処 銀八 is an absolute must for sushi lovers. This long-established restaurant specializes in island sushi, a unique local delicacy that dates back to the Edo period. Here, you'll experience the delightful combination of sweet rice and soy sauce-marinated sushi rice enhanced with karashi instead of wasabi—a fascinating twist that showcases regional flavors.
Ginpachi, a long-established sushi restaurant on Hachijojima 🍣, is a famous place for island sushi. If you visit Hachijojima, I highly recommend trying their island sushi. You will be amazed by the different taste and flavors compared to Edomae sushi. I recommend it!

Very disappointed and it was terrible! Because overall there was nothing special and I gusss it was below average. I was especially surprised that sea urchin was the worst one since it was very stink! Never ever recommend. FYI I did not have Shima zushi, just had Nigiri, traditional Japanese Sushi. And the owner was so strong character, be careful.

We stopped by without a reservation on a Monday night and were seated right away. The sushi, maguro maki rolls, kappa maki rolls, and the Island sushi were all delicious!! The service was great and although we do not speak Japanese we were able to order and have a little conversation with the staff. Price was very reasonable too!

Awesomely delicious and reasonably priced. Get the shimazushi, a local specialty. The fatty tuna is not too shabby either! It is recommended (required?) to make a reservation, even for lunch. (Translated by Google) It is a relaxing place with a unique island atmosphere. This is an izakaya restaurant that uses local ingredients such as fresh seafood. The menu is extensive, especially the island sushi and sashimi, asparagus tempura, kusaya, fried octopus, and the thick fried egg, which contains a little island chili pepper and is spicy and delicious. If you serve it with a seafood salad, there's no end to it. The island sushi made with Hachijojima's unique mustard is the best, and its unique spiciness goes perfectly with the fresh fish. The staff is courteous, and the fact that we have many repeat customers shows that our customers are highly satisfied. The inside of the store is also very beautiful. Also, the free soup is rich and delicious, making you very satisfied. The price range is relatively reasonable and it has a reputation for being good value for money. Since it is located on Hachijojima, it may take some time to get there, but we highly recommend it when you visit. (Translated by Google) Izakaya Daikichimaru is a cozy izakaya with a local atmosphere. I came without a reservation on a summer vacation weekend and was wondering what I would do if there was no restaurant that could fit my family of five, but we got in without any problems. There are spacious tatami mats, tables, and counter seats inside the store, so you can easily accommodate families. It has the casual atmosphere of a local family restaurant, so you can relax. The last order for food was 8:30 p.m., so I arrived just before 8 p.m., but the food was served smoothly and I was fully satisfied. Especially recommended is the Ankake Yakisoba, which is 1200 yen and has a large portion. I also ordered a thick omelet, but it was a little spicy because it was an omelet rolled in Shimadashi soup stock. It may not be suitable for children who don't like spiciness, but adults will enjoy the tangy taste. It seemed like a lot of local people were using it as well. Daikichimaru's island sushi was truly impressive and delicious! (I don't know about other island sushi lol) Marlin tuna and horse mackerel are marinated in soy sauce and served with mustard instead of wasabi. This is...more divine balance than I imagined...! The freshness of the mustard goes perfectly with the fatty swordfish, The umami of the horse mackerel becomes thicker with the zuke, and it goes great with the sweet vinegared rice! The umami spread through the warm and warm rice...I couldn't help but get a second helping. There are also other special items that can only be found on the island. Particularly impressive was the "Ashitaba and Kusaya with mayonnaise." This combination is really delicious, and the taste is exquisitely mellow with the Ashitaba and mayo. Even if you are new to Kusaya, you should definitely try this! It goes perfectly with island shochu, and the drink goes really well. It wasn't too touristy, it had a full izakaya menu such as fried chicken, and there were many locals, so it had a lively atmosphere. The price is also reasonable. The soft serve ice cream for dessert is also delicious. It's a popular restaurant, so reservations are a must! The first thing that surprised me was the selection of fresh fish. The sashimi, caught in the island's waters, all had a crisp texture, and as a tourist, I was left feeling truly satisfied, saying, "This is Hachijo!" The island sushi and grilled fish in particular were simple yet flavorful, and I could see why they're beloved by locals. The restaurant has a homey atmosphere, bustling with both regulars and tourists. The staff are friendly and willing to explain the island's alcohol and cuisine, so it wasn't just a meal; the conversation was a feast. The food, paired with local shochu, was excellent, and I found myself drinking more than I ever had. Rather than tourist prices, the portions are reasonable, generous, and the casual atmosphere makes it an appealing spot. It's an impeccable spot for fully enjoying an island night, combining a comfortable atmosphere with satisfying food. I'd recommend this place for both first-time tourists and those looking to experience the local atmosphere. This is a great place to start your night on Hachijojima, or to end it off by relaxing here. It's an izakaya that will make your travel memories even more special.
