Hohenlohe Freilandmuseum Schwabisch Hall Wackershofen is a well-preserved area with over 60 restored buildings that depict life in the Middle Ages. It offers a unique experience for those who have grown up in such an environment and is a great place to revisit memories and feel refreshed. The museum offers student discounts, free parking, and many activities to do. Payment can be made using maestro cards or cash since visa cards are not accepted.
Here, we get direct and detailed impressions of a German village and the life of its residents in 1945. No boundaries, you could directly touch and feel the furnitures, kitchenwares and working tools from different families. We spend a whole afternoon there, 10 euro ticket and 4 hours , totally worthwhile!
Weiqiang C — Google review
It's perfect for kids of all ages. Our son is now two and a half and has enjoyed it so much. The price is definitely worth it. There are only three playgrounds, which are really small, but you won't need them.
Oli B — Google review
An enjoyable visit to learn more about the old rural lifestyles in this part of Germany. There are many relocated buildings to explore and learn about how people used to live. At the end of our visit we enjoyed a good meal at the Red Ox.
Darren B — Google review
Charming farming village. It feels like we went back decades! Worth to get the headsets (out of charge, just a €20 bond and you’ll get it back at the end). You can hear the story about each place.
Rodrigo — Google review
Alway worth a visit - nice exhibition of old houses, good food and friendly staff. I would really recommend this place and encourage more people to come here. On of the best times to visit is the so called "Backofenfest" which is an event with a small market and a lot of great food spots.
Matze M — Google review
A wonderful experience filled with so many things that showed how life was, in Germany, over the years. A day well spent and I highly recommend this place.

Ok, not sure though how to react,it's well preserved area , nice walk on Sunday afternoon . It's different experience when one say it's a museum. May be for city kid it's will be surprising experience but it didn't impressed or amused me. Maybe because some part of my life I grew up in such environment. But still good to re-visit your memory n feel refreshed!!

We were very surprised by the beautiful church turned into a museum and what a wonderful collection of medieval paintings. Absolutely free, friendly staff. And the exhibition deserves to be presented in the best museums.

St. Michael's Church is a must-see attraction in Schwabisch Hall, located right in the city center with its impressive tower and spacious square. Visitors can climb the bell tower for stunning views of the city, but should be mindful of the loud bells. The church boasts incredible historical architecture and hosts live theatrical plays on its steps during the summer. It's a beautifully restored building that showcases a blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, with some chapels featuring Baroque decor.
St. Michael's...wow! What a beautiful church, inside and out. Make sure to climb the tower for amazing views of Schwabish Hall! They have live theatrical plays on the steps during Summer which is awesome. Great cultural learning.

medieval church from 1156 from romanesque to Gothic architecture. the building offers all. beautiful baroque side altars, tower visit, magnificent bell with a clock timing. large stairs with an open theater and amazing main altar. it is the main highlight of the town.
David A — Google review
Besides being a historical building with the greatest architecture, the staircase outside is used by the town as a stage for plays. Away from home and wanting to serve God with fellow worshippers, it was the most amazing sermon I have attended.
I B — Google review
Oh wow. Past amazing. Everything is so old! Be sure to go up the bell tower, just watch your times around the bells because it is loud!! The church is just amazing. Only downside is that very little is printed in English so if you're a tourist, be sure to use Google Translate

German restaurant
Stadt-gut-Hotel und Gasthof Goldener Adler is an elegant hotel located in the heart of Schwabisch Hall, just steps away from Ehemalige Gymnasium illustre and Saumarktturm. The hotel features a restaurant with a terrace where guests can enjoy delicious meals for lunch or dinner, as well as room service during limited hours. Additionally, amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi access and a vending machine are available for guests' convenience.
Fantastic stay at Stadt-gut-Hotel. Here's what you need to know if you're planning to stay there. First note, my review is for a 6-day stay during the first week of November. Secondly, this is a very, very old historic hotel and perhaps not for everyone. You do have to climb stairs to get to your room, and none of the walls or floors are straight in this hotel! The floors will creak everywhere you step. My room was on the second (3rd in NA standards) floor. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable, and I'd say basic. The bathroom was clean and functional as well, with lots of hot water. My room did not have a coffee maker or mini fridge and no USB charging points, so you'll need to bring your own charger. I strongly recommend including breakfast with your stay as it was one of the best experiences of my stay. The morning breakfast was simply outstanding, and every morning, I wished I had a second stomach so that I could sample everything. This hotel simply has the best location ever, and you can't put a price on that! Right in the heart of the town square and next to the historic church, you can walk anywhere to explore the town. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful in every way. Check-in was very easy, and yes, you get an old-fashioned key for your room. The restaurant is very nice for food and drinks. You just need to make sure if they are open as they might be closed certain nights during off-season times. There are many options for hotels at Schwaebisch Hall, but none give you the experience of staying in a hotel built in the 1500s. This is a true opportunity to experience a historic sight in a prime location in the town. Highly recommended and a must visit hotel.
Armando S — Google review
Don’t miss out on being part of history by staying at this hotel built in the 15th century. The nostalgia is intense, location is perfect, rooms are modern enough, staff is super helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and right across probably the best spot on Schwabisch Hall
Santosh S — Google review
I Had a lovely stay at the Goldener Adler in Schwäbische Hall. The staff was so helpful and professional. When I checked in, the woman at the desk carried my bags to my room. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was everything you could imagine and more. I would happily return on another visit.
Sarah S — Google review
While the food and decor were good. The service and general atmosphere were lacking. The serving lady was extremely rude and took an excessively long time to take our our orders and bring drinks.
Gareth M — Google review
Great place to stay at the bottom of the big stairs. Staff was excellent! We can highly recommend staying there.
Christian T — Google review
Charming and genuine old hotel dating back to the 16th century. Modernised to make our stay comfortable, yet still retaining much of the history of the building.
Malcolm D — Google review
It was a nice hotel located in a historical wooden frame building. Parking right in front of hotel. Dogs welcome. Room was decent, good size. Modern bathroom. Downside was no air conditioning, and it was needed in July. Breakfast was good, had enough to eat, although they don't refill, so take what you want or start earlier. Very friendly staff. Restaurant also located on site for traditional dinner.
Paul H — Google review
The food here was classic German cuisine. Duck, potatoes and bread rolls were delicious. The shower was the best ever! The temperature and pressure was perfect. The town center was quaint and cozy with its many little businesses. We highly recommend!

It was such a luxury to find this place today!. I was treated better than I would ever Imagine!. Oliver (the owner) took a seat on my table to showed me what food they had to offer. The treat was superb, ever so human, I was delighted to be there!, the food made with love, no more ingredients needed! A truly awesome place to go to! I will come back here as soon as I can! They offer, as an aperitive, proper olive oil with smashed olives from Italy (really high quality) if you you can tell from good olive oil!. THANK YOU!!!

Nice atmosphere, warm interior with cleverly made separations that give an intimate look. I like this kind of places having an older and personal style (although some may call it oudtated). Food was quite good, wine from average to excellent. For us it was a pleasant experience.

Fills your heart and belly with LOVE. Feels like going to Grandma's for food that is good for your soul. This was my first time having Schnitzel with Spätzle, the breading was crunchy and delicious, the sauce lovely. But what really stole my heart was the Sauerbraten with purple cabbage and homemade dumplings. WOW!!!! It was so beautiful and well balanced. The lovely woman who took great care of us (I believe an owner) paired it perfectly with Dunkelgraf Trocken, a Cabernet Dorsa by Furstenfass. The food and service are top notch!

Pulcinella Schwäbisch Hall is an Italian restaurant that offers a culinary journey to Italy with its cozy atmosphere and diverse selection of drinks and dishes. Whether you're craving pizza, European specialties, vegetarian delights, or Mediterranean cuisine, this place has something for every palate. With an Italian owner and staff, the restaurant serves authentic Italian dishes and pizzas at reasonable prices.
After 40 years of my first visit, they continue offering terrific lasagna, pizzas and tiramisu!

Very good food but if you call they say they are booked out but later will be free and then you can here in the background how a guy says “just say we are booked out all evening”. That’s already highly questionable. But then I asked and we got the reservation. I asked for children dishes and she said we can make a small portion of noodles with butter. I said yes. Later they charge 9€ for that. The staff is quite rude too.

This is a well curated museum with lots of interesting artifacts, pieces of art, and information. I highly recommend going for a visit. It's a surprisingly large museum, so you'll need at least an hour or two to really get to see everything. Most of the museum is accessible via stairs, as it is housed in several historical buildings.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE A MUSLIM FAMILY I was there, preordered a table for 5 people (my muslim family including my mom who wears a headscarf). Terrible service, the young man didn’t even look at us while taking our order and even brought the wrong drinks. We had to wait 1.5h for our main dish, which was the point we decided to leave, since asking for the status of our food didn’t give us an answer. The boss was very unfriendly and not understanding of our dissatisfaction. People came after us and left way before us… horrible service indeed

I used to visit here regularly when I lived in SHA and it never disappointed with either the buffet or a la carte menu. However my last visit wasn't so great. We arrived just as they started filling the evening buffet bars, so we decided to order from the menu instead in addition, with Corona in mind, buffets are a worry currently.. The girl serving us persuaded us to change to the buffet "because it was quicker" so reluctantly we agreed. We were provided with a good supply of disposable gloves at our table (a positive) but the food came out so slowly we were waiting for over 20 minutes after having the soup before we could choose from the limited main selection that had been brought out - there were only two or three dishes initially. The food really wasn't as good as i remember it being before, it tasted highly salted generally and the battered fried products were bland and it was hard to tell what was what. More concerning for me was that the girls were regularly turning the food over with the provided serving utensils with their bare hands! They were wearing masks at all times though. Just felt disappointed generally.. with two non alcoholic drinks it came to just over 45 euros for both of us.. thought that was a bit steep for a less than impressive meal.

Great selection at the buffet. Good food at a good price. Their credit card machine however kept declining my card and they made me use cash. We tried 3 different cards so the problem was definitely on their end.

i was first time here together with my friends, we was 7 people together....the food was good a lot , but the waiter was Awful ...not friendly at all...she almost put the drinks on my friend ...when we made the order she was so offended becouse we did order one cola a little late !!!! I never see one waiter like that in no place i have ever been ... becouse of this waiter that treat the customer without respect i will never go back ! I feel sorry that one elegant restaurant can have so kind of waiter that don t know to make their job how they should !!!!

Lovely cafe in the centre of Schwäbisch Hall’s park “Ackeranlagen”. Friendly staff, beautiful outdoor seating in between fountains and trees and good value food and drinks. Good of choice of wines and cocktails. They have a portable baby changing station that they happily set up for us when we visited with our baby. Also toys for the kids available to play with.

If you have a lot of patience, you will have an amazing experience. The staff needs plenty of time to take your order, prepare your food and beverages and don't really check on you. You have to ask for everything once you get a hold of a waiter. But they are extremely friendly, know their menu, are flexible with requests for modifications to the food, which means they prepare it themselves and don't just serve you preprocessed food a store. The restaurant itself is located in a convenient spot of the Stadtpark. Also the decoration is appealing especially the seating area with the rug.

Before the screening, you can and should have a good meal in one of the many restaurants in order to be prepared for the screening, which lasts several hours. We saw Everyman, which was very well directed and acted. Since you can play even when it rains, be sure to bring appropriate clothing with you in your bag! (Translated by Google) I've been to the Schwäbisch Hall Open Air Theater twice this year – and I've been completely thrilled each time! The premiere of West Side Story was a magnificent production with impressive actors, powerful music, and lighting technology that transformed the staircase into a magical stage set. Yesterday I was able to see Jedermann – and I was so glad the weather held out. The production was simply magnificent: captivating music, an outstanding ensemble of Hall residents and professionals, and the wonderful involvement of the Schwäbisch Hall settlers. The musical interpretation of "Every Breath You Take" was particularly moving – one of the most beautiful versions I've ever heard. Last year, Hairspray made a lasting impression on me – with its colors, staging, and incredibly energetic music. Year after year, the Schwäbisch Hall Open Air Theater manages to bring world-class theater to the staircase – right in the heart of the city. Highly recommended! Neues Globe is a striking round theater located on the Kocher Island Unterwohrd, completed in its current form in 2019. It hosts various events and performances, including modern contemporary ballets like 'Somewhere Between' choreographed by Florian Lochner and Alice Klock of the dance group Flock. The venue has also featured entertaining shows such as Tobias Mann's 'Mann gegen Mann.'
My wife and I just saw one of the most beautiful modern contemporary ballets in the Neues Globe theater titled "Somewhere Between" choreographed by Florian Lochner and Alice Klock of the dance group Flock. If you haven't had a chance to see it, the work compares to any of the great modern choreographers such as Nacho Duato. The 6 dancers brought alive the dynamics of interpersonal relations. If you missed the show you can look up the the creators on line or the Facebook Flock page. The Neues Globe is an excellent performance space that provides high quality in an intimate setting. It seats around 500 and the acoustics are marvelous. If you have a chance to view a performance here take advantage of it.

(Translated by Google) “Tribute to Carole King” – A musical delight The Carole King tribute concert proved to be an impressive tribute to one of the greatest songwriters in music history. Tabea Scholz thrilled with her expressive voice and gave the timeless classics her very own touch. Especially with pieces like It's Too Late and You've Got a Friend, it was noticeable how deeply Carole King's music still affects her to this day. Supported by an excellent band consisting of Johannes Weik (guitar and arrangements), Michael Deak (bass) and Marko Klotz (drums), a harmonious overall picture was created that captured the magic of the original songs and at the same time added new nuances. Weik's arrangements provided musical sophistication, while the rhythm section performed with precision and feeling. The audience experienced an evening full of nostalgia and musical brilliance that celebrated Carole King's legacy. An absolute highlight for fans of handmade music and a successful tribute concert that hopefully wasn't the last of its kind.

The only thing that didn't convince me was the Insalata mista. The tortellini al panna for the daughter at home were also very tasty! I always enjoy sitting on this beautiful terrace and enjoying delicious food and/or wine while looking out over the old town! (Original) Sehr leckere Tagliatelle Emiliano! (Translated by Google) The old guardhouse has a colorful history (over 50 years ago, I sat on the steps there while my grandpa got his hair cut...). Today, this little temple has found its true calling! We experienced genuine hospitality and food prepared with love. Thanks to the head waiter and the head chef! A glimmer of hope—and a role model for the German restaurant industry. The location is available every day for a very good lunch, delicious cakes and always for an Aperol. The salads/bowles are the best around. Many thanks to the operators for this great place of comfort 🥰 (Original) Bestes Lokal in Schwäbisch Hall wo Preis/Leistung/Qualität/Freundlichkeit und Ambiente stimmen. (Translated by Google) Everything was perfect! A regular customer of the Pach family from the very beginning. A stroke of luck, the "Alte Wache" – high-quality and delicious cuisine guaranteed, all in a very pleasant atmosphere. And a note to those who like to complain: Only a customer who behaves like one can be treated like one ;-) (Original) Alles bestens! Stammkunde bei Familie Pach von Anfang an. Ein Glücksfall, die "Alte Wache" - Hochwertige und super-leckere Küche garantiert; und das in einem sehr schönen Ambiente. German restaurant
Restaurant Entenbäck Inh. Florian Braun is a European and German restaurant located in Schwäbisch Hall, offering traditional German cuisine. Situated in the heart of the old town, it has recently gained popularity under its current management for serving delicious local dishes alongside standard favorites. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make diners feel welcome, with specialties like Gaisburger Marsch showcasing the region's culinary heritage.
Besides all the local standards they offer, which was very tasty indeed, I tried something really typically for my hometown and the entire region: Gaisburger Marsch! This dish underlines perfectly the cozy little town Schwäbisch Hall. I almost forgot to take a picture of it. The service was adorable and we felt really welcome. We come back soon.

Staff are friendly and the service is good. Meal was nice but overpriced for what you get. Expected a nice Schwabish salate but just got a very ordinary one There are better places to eat at better prices.

Restaurant
Nestled in a cozy corner, Gaststätte Reifenhof offers a delightful taste of Croatian home cooking that feels like a warm embrace. While the menu may not boast extravagant specialties, it serves hearty portions that are sure to satisfy your hunger. The friendly service adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making you feel right at home. Although some dishes could benefit from fresh vegetables instead of canned ones, the overall experience is enjoyable with quick preparation and fair prices. A meal for three can be had without breaking the bank!

The Macedonian Rosé is recommended as a drink. The prices are very fair, three people get a full meal (main course with several side dishes and a drink) for a total of €50. (Original) Empfehlenswert! Waitress made two times a mistake with my order and had the nerve to tell me that I told her wrong! The food came also 1 hour and 43 minutes after we ordered it, even though we were told it will take some time, 1 hour and 43 is really unacceptably long. When the food came it was too salty.
A3 — Google review
We went there to celebrate a family member birthday. We were four adults and two seven year olds. Food was great, as always, but the service was bad. The weitress welcomed us with a long face right from the start. We ordered drinks, then one kid realised later they wanted a juice so we had to call the waitress again and renew the drink order - she had this attitude as in how do I dare to not order all the drinks in one go. I asked to take away some leftovers and she threw me a box to pack it myself. That table cost us hundreds of euros, least you can do is take the plate and pack it, and out a smile one with a polite attitude while you are at it..
