Nestled in the charming city of Lichfield, Lichfield Cathedral stands as a stunning example of Gothic architecture and is unique for being the only medieval cathedral in England adorned with three spires. This magnificent structure boasts over 1,300 years of rich history, featuring captivating medieval wall paintings and exquisite Herkenrode stained glass windows. Visitors can marvel at the renowned Lichfield Angel, which dates back to 730 AD.
Lichfield Cathedral Tower Tour Lichfield Cathedral Tower Tour is a great experience. Tours must be booked in advance from the Cathedrals website, but they are very reasonably priced for what you get to see. You must be reasonably fit, and good with heights, as there are some steep narrow staircases to negotiate, and small gaps to fit through. Our guide Graham was very knowledgeable, and great at explaining a lot about the history of the Cathedral. When you reach the highest point, there are some stunning views to be had. I highly recommend this tour. We loved it and will do it again at different times of the year for some differing views.

A truly breathtaking cathedral. The Gothic architecture is stunning, with its three spires creating a unique silhouette against the sky. The stone carvings and intricate details on the façade are remarkable, each statue and ornament telling its own story. Inside, the stained glass windows glow with vibrant colors, filling the space with a quiet, almost sacred light. The vaulted ceilings and fine woodwork show an incredible level of craftsmanship. It’s not just a place of worship, but also a masterpiece of art and history, worth taking time to explore slowly.

Today I finally did the tower and roof tour. It was amazing and the views from the tower are stunning. Got to see a lot of stuff you don't normally get to see too. The tour guides George and Alan were very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot of new stuff about the cathedral and Lichfield in general. Well worth the £18 as the tour was nearly 2 hours. Made my day and now when I look up on future visits I can say "I've been up there" 😁

One of the best Anglican churches in the region and in England. The church building has a great character don't forget to walk around the church to appreciate the lovely location and features of the church building. Going inside the church has no ticket, but donations are appreciated which goes towards the maintenance of the Cathedral. Volunteers were kind and helpful and can guide you around the premises. From the East side of the building you can go up yo St Chad's terrace and is quite and peaceful for a prayer and specially very positive vibes when hearing the choir. The giant table made with 5000 year Dark Oak wood! Worth visiting! Recommend checking the website, there is plenty of activities specially in the summer. For concerts recommend booking tickets in advance.

Lichfield Cathedral truly is a hidden gem. Although it’s only a short drive from the M6 motorway, it’s like stepping back in time. The cathedral itself has a grandeur to it which is unlike many other, smaller, more modern cathedrals. The outside of the cathedral is beautifully designed, in proportion, and well appointed with a variety of statues. The West door is huge and impressive with a variety of ornate Victorian carvings outside. Once you enter the cathedral, the visitors’ desk is staffed by polite and helpful members of staff who will guide you around the cathedral. The ceiling of the nave is particularly impressive and the grand arches are second to none in the UK. The stained glass throughout the cathedral is particularly impressive. However, when you get to the far east end of the cathedral, you will see the Herkenrode glass which is unlike anything you will see in any other cathedral in the UK. There were several treasures contained within the chapter house, such as the Saint Chad Gospel which make this cathedral a real pleasure to walk around and visit. There is parking nearby in Bird Street car park and the public toilets are easily accessed. The Minster Pool next door is also worth a visit to feed the ducks. Although Lichfield is not on the usual tourist trail, it is worth a detour. I can’t recommend this cathedral strongly enough.

A very good cathedral for visiting with family and friends. You will enjoy the outside area as well Inner sanctuary. Very well maintained. We visited during the time when there was a showcase of wild life photographers photo’s.

Such a beautiful peaceful place of worship. I am not a Christian but felt so welcome by all patrons I came across. I was astounded by the amount of colonial history from the empire, from flags, priests, infantry.

Large cathedral in centre of scenic Lichfield. Costs £5 voluntary donation admission. Extra to go into tower area. The cathedral has many beautiful stained glass windows. Lots of other interesting areas to visit within the building. A nice little shop selling a variety of souvenirs etc.

Erasmus Darwin House, located on Beacon Street in Lichfield, is a museum dedicated to the life of Erasmus Darwin, the grandfather of Charles Darwin. This fine Georgian townhouse was home to many influential figures during the 18th century, including inventor James Watt and pottery entrepreneur Josiah Wedgwood. The house stands as a testament to Lichfield's rich intellectual history and its role in the Industrial Revolution.
A real gem of a museum about a relatively unknown great mind. Dedicated to the life Erasmus Darwin, grand father of Charles Darwin, who lived in Litchfield for a time. The museum can be accessed either from the front on Beacon Street or via an alley way at the back from The Close, which is opposite Litchfield Cathedral. It is right in the heart of Litchfield, so plenty of car parks nearby and places to eat. Entrance to the herb garden is free but to access the house/museum it is just £5 per person. You can pay by cash or card. The staff there are very friendly and knowledgeable. The museum consists of a large house with displays and information in each room. Surprisingly for a museum of this size, a lot of the exhibits are interactive so good fun for the kids. It will take about an hour to have a really good look and read all the information. It was fascinating to learn about Erasmus as I knew nothing of him before. Well worth a visit.

Located across the green from the West Front of Lichfield Cathedral this small but perfectly formed museum tells the history of polymath Erasmus Darwin. Information boards, period costumes for younger visitors and many interactive exhibits bring his life and work alive. The courtyard garden is a hidden gem.

Erasmus Darwin, Charles Darwin's grandfather, was a naturalist who developed one of the first formal theories of evolution. His work included ideas about how life evolved from a single ancestor, and how competition and sexual selection could cause species to change.

This is a fascinating museum that tells the story of Erasmus Darwin and the Lunar Society of scientists and inventors. The museum is well presented, with video and audio clips as well as hands-on models to demonstrate the inventions. Outside, there is an apothecary’s garden with medicinal herbs.

Absolute gem of a place near Lichfield Cathedral. Lovely garden which I imagine looks stunning later in the year. Fascinating story and really helpful volunteers

Interesting museum in Darwin’s house. Lots of surprising facts and interactive exhibits, so interesting for all the family. Pretty garden to walk through with all the medicinal plants that would have been important. Wonderful views of the Cathedral from the windows. Worth a visit, friendly staff.

Definitely a nice attraction in lichfield. They are celebrating Dr. Darvin' s birthday with actual settings.. and staff is friendly. On Darwin's birthday the entrance is free..but we can donate. Normal days museum entrance has a small fee..but garden has free entrance. Had a nice experience in there.

I stumbled upon this enchanting establishment while attending the Lichfield Food festival, and it was truly a treasure trove. It's like stepping into Aladdin's cave, with an abundance of beautiful finds to marvel at, especially their exquisite jewelry collection. The staff is welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. I could easily spend hours exploring its expansive space filled with a blend of genuine antiques and retro items. In fact, I found a stunning vintage ring during my visit.
Great place to find some little gems! Staff are extremely friendly and were lovely to my daughter who has ADHD and can be a bit loud but she does behave in stores. We had a great time looking through the extensive collection and my wallet took a hammering but it was great.

Unfortunately, my experience with this antique shop wasn't good at all. I was there for the first time last Thursday, on the 23rd of January 2025. First thing when I entered the premises I felt like sick, I don't know the reason, but I felt sick. Two men at the cash desk, looked alright, but keep this information 👌 Plus, there's a weird smell in the shop, they should sort it out! As soon as I started to see the glass cabinets, and all the stuff around, it looked like a mess, and disorganised, plus, I have checked the prices, and I observed that most of them were overpriced, something in my head suggested me to leave that place without looking back, but, I didn't, instead, I continued to look for "treasures". I love antiques, pottery, figurines, etc. So, I finally found a beautiful figurine from Beswick, cat and mouse "watch it" collection, which got to my attention straight away, so I asked for it, one of the shop assistants took the key for the cabinet, and took it away (not in front of me), while I was looking for another stuff around (there are so many stuff in the same place that you get mad), so I was looking for some earrings around which I was interested too, so I asked them to take them.for me (also, overpriced). When I got to the cash desk, my Beswick figurine was already wrapped up...I found strange but in the same time I felt grateful, so it would save some time, as I could pay straight away and leave the shop happily with my figurine and earrings, but I was wrong. As soon as I got back home, I unwrapped it, and I found that the mouse was loose from the base of the figurine, which wasn't my fault, I am sure that problem was there in the cabinet, they knew it, so they wrapped it up straight away while I was looking for the earrings, in fact, the 2 men opened the cabinet and in the same time they took away the figurine very quickly while I was distracted looking away the other stuff. Next day, I called the shop to make a complaint, and the first thing he said was that I should ask the shop assistant to unwrap the figurine for me to check(so he was trying to blame me for their dishonesty), and he added that I could take the figurine back to the shop, and see if they could exchange it, or fix the figurine, however, when I said I was interested in a picture I saw there, he said, that I could only exchange for the stuff displayed in that cabinet from the same dealer...the shop rules! Also, no refund offered, he said he don't refund...why? The law says otherwise...so, the shop have their own laws, as much as the shop states they don't refund or exchange for anything else in the shop, it doesn't apply. I was very close to go back to the shop the next day with the figurine, but instead, I decided to not confront anyone there, because I knew it would end up with the police involved there, because they can't do whatever they like with the consumer rights, their stuff is expensive, I paid £48 for that figurine, when in ebay I could find for much less and without any problems or cracks, etc. The earrings were beautiful but still overpriced too. Obviously, I won't be back to that place. There are too many around, principally in London and with better customer service.

Deserved five stars but downgraded to one after the cashiers rude comment on checkout. We travel the world retrieving antiques and collectibles and traveled from Washington DC to England and happened upon this antique shop in Lichfield under guidance of Google Maps on our return trip from Cambridge to Liverpool. It was an easy stop and car parking was plenty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed browsing the three or four rows of locked glass cabinets containing various collectibles and jewelry. If you want an item you’ll need to cite the cabinet number and inform the cashier who will retrieve the appropriate key and unlock the cabinet. Collectively, on our trip we spent several thousand dollars on antiques and collectibles and in Lichfield, we inquired if there were any discounts offered for multiple item purchases. The elderly lady (cashier) behind the counter said she would entertain discounts only on checkout. A man behind the counter working with her also stated “we can offer a discount on anything over 20 pounds” and after the lady tallied our items at 183 British pounds, she looked up and said “unfortunately since you shopped so frugally, I’m unable to provide any discounts” We weren’t worried about saving five or ten pounds. It’s your mouth that deserves the one star rating lady.

Visited today. Very nice place. Everyone can find something interesting. Bought a silver ring in a good price. Will definitely come back again.

Do not buy any German militaria from here. Most of the stuff is fake or overpriced, they are selling refurbished helmets for the same price as originals and most medals/badges are reproductions. The man inside is a nice chap or seems to be but the women that work there have an attitude on them. Nice for anything else but if you’re a militaria collector I would stay away.

Great for a mooch. Lots of small items at decent prices. We always pop in when in Lichfield as you just don't know what unexpected and unnecessary object will cause you to fall in love.

Lots of things to look at, only grip and very mild one is that things like jewellery are spread around the shop. I'd prefer personally jewellery in one section military in another, ceramics etc etc but I guess it makes you look around entire place..

My second visit to this one, and I wasn't too pleased with the abrupt service. Not to worry, anyone can have an off day, even if all the staff seemed stressed. Quite busy- creating a vibrant atmosphere. I had a Brixton ale for £6.60.

First time we tried this cafe sat outside in the sun. Lovely day today. We had Tuna melt & 2 teas very nice. We took 2 bags of books to the St Giles book shop they were very happy with the books. We had a walk around bought a complete salad for £1 of the market. Then popped in B & M for a few thinks. It Lovely to walk around Lichfield & not get bothered by beggers asking for money

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. Ordered and paid via their table app. The only issue was the lack of interaction from the staff. Never asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything. Had to get up and get more napkins twice. Even when we left, they never even said thank you or goodbye.

Hard to know where to start. An excellent experience from the moment we walked in and Neve greeted us. The QR code worked and the platform it takes you to is seamless. Art work is fun and we initially stepped in because there was an “energy” outside. We looked through the window and the place was packed. Food - amazing. Vibes - stellar. Coffees - incredible. Will come back to this little town just to eat here. Shout out to Neve. She’s the best. ❤️

Visited here many times for lunch, but our first visit for dinner. It was busy on a Saturday night, but only a short wait for a table. It's great that you can order everything over the App, a lot less hanging around. The tapas was great and the food is reasonably priced.  Staff always seem friendly, a must visit when in Lichfield.

My wife and I have been coming here for years and it has never EVER disappointed! I decided to arrange a surprise birthday party for my wife. I requested a party for 28 people on a Sunday evening which went amazingly well courtesy of Heidi and the team. Everyone was exceptional and professional as well as being extremely helpful and professional. We had an amazing few hours, thank you everyone. The food was again, fantastic.

Really impressed. Our first visit this morning for breakfast. The dish I wanted wasnt availabile which was shame, but between the lady (Didn't get a name) who served us and the chef, they went out of thier way to actually do it. It was brilliant attention to detail and I really did appreciate the effort. The food was spot on, it looked brilliant on the plate and was great tasting. We really have no complaints and would certainly recommend this place. The service was great and I really do appreciate the effort. Keep up the great work. 🤟🤟

The theatre offers over 400 shows annually, catering to audiences of all ages with a diverse range of productions such as The Elvis Years, Cinderella, and The Three Musketeers. Additionally, it presents seasonal pantomimes featuring well-known personalities.
Went to the pantomime last night 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. An all around great experience. The show was a real hit and all the performers were fantastic. To see such professionalism in a small theatre was excellent. Had us all in stitches and set us up for Xmas. Thanks to the cast and everyone behind the scenes. See you all again.👍👍

This was my first visit to Lichfield Garrick Theatre. The show we watched was near capacity, but the bar area still had some seating available. Prices for drinks and refreshments were high, like a cinema, but that's expected. The views are really good, it's not a massive venue, so you're not too far away from the stage. The seats are a squeeze if over 6foot, but again expected. A great venue, easily accessible so would recommend a visit.

Watched Re-Take That. The best concert I have seen in a long time: The three boys were great sound alikes, but the star of the show was Robbie, who not only sounded like the original but could have been Robbie's twin and copied the same mannerisms - He was wonderful !!

My wife and I had not been to the theatre in quite some time. We thought it would be nice to go again and so we went to see The Lion in Winter at the Garrick. We had a fantastic time, the performance was excellent. The Garrick is really well situated with parking very close by. The facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly. We will be going again to see something else hopefully quite soon.

Family trip to the Lichfield Garrick Panto, front row seating and what a magical experience, the cast were amazing and the set look fantastic, great special effects and a wonderful experience had by all the family. Children were able to interact with the performance and the performers at times which made it extra special. If you get a chance this Charity run Theatre do amazing productions so get a ticket and enjoy the entertainment. Tickets available now for Cinderella in 2025 we are already booked back in and can’t wait to enjoy next years entertainment

I recently saw Rock of Ages at this venue and had an incredible experience. The atmosphere was electric, the acoustics were spot-on, and the staff were welcoming and well-organized. The seating offered great views, and the lighting and sound design really brought the performance to life. It was the perfect setting for such a high-energy show. Would definitely return for another night of entertainment! Location just by the edge of high street with plenty parking spaces just minutes away.

A lovely little local theatre. Very clean and well maintained, comfortable seating and plenty of parking within a two minute walk that was reasonably priced. I particularly liked the lounge/bar area that created a comfortable setting whilst waiting for the show to start. Great variety of shows suitable for all ages and genres, whether you're looking for children's shows, comedy, music or drama. Reasonable prices too, would encourage people to go support this wonderful place to keep the arts alive within this local community.

Went first thing in the morning. Able to drive the car close nearby as no restrictions before 9am in the town centre. Well stocked full of sandwiches, cakes, treats, Drinks and pasties. Breakfast deals available, roll and drink for about £2.30. Both lichfield City centre stores will close early or switch coffee machine off early . If your meant to open till 7 then actually open till 7 and don't turn the machines off at half 6 ! . If you're looking for a vibrant dining experience, 55 Wade Street is the place to be! This trendy venue offers a delightful atmosphere that’s perfect for gatherings, whether it’s a bottomless brunch or an evening out with friends. Diners rave about the delicious food and impressive cocktails, making it an ideal spot for any occasion. While some dishes may have had minor hiccups—like a cold steak or overly spicy chicken salad—the overall quality remains high.
We had a lovely time at 55 Wade Street when we went for the 'Magic Room' on Wednesday night. The venue was lovely- modern, well designed and very trendy. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. Friends had a range of snazzy looking cocktails while I enjoyed the beers. Oh, and the magic was great too.

We visited for my dad’s birthday and unfortunately the experience felt quite rushed from the start. When we arrived, staff weren’t sure which menu we had booked (normal or bottomless), so we were sat at the very back of the restaurant on sticky tables. We asked to move to the front, as we thought it would get a bit noisy with the bottomless groups, and while the manager did let us move, we were told we’d only have 1.5 hours before the next booking. The new table was much nicer though. We ordered drinks and were told all food courses had to be ordered at once, which felt a little pressured. The food and drinks did come out quickly and were of a good standard. However, one member of our group asked to swap sweet potato fries for normal fries, which was agreed to, but the dish still arrived with sweet potato fries. After raising it, the plate was eventually swapped. Another disappointment was when our main meals arrived — the waitress told us that if we wanted more drinks, it would no longer be table service and we’d have to go up to the bar, as they had large groups coming in for bottomless sessions. This really isn’t what you expect at a restaurant, and it left some of us with empty glasses during the meal as we didn’t want to leave the table mid-course to go up and wait at the bar. The waitresses seemed a bit rushed off their feet, even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy, and that made the whole service feel a little impersonal. Overall, for a birthday meal it didn’t feel particularly relaxed or special, more like the focus was on turning tables quickly. We probably wouldn’t return for a family meal, but it seems better suited to a lively bottomless session with friends.

We had a bottomless for 15 of us and they were on point. Drinks flowed really well, starters came out perfect, mains 1 steak was cold, chicken on salad was too spicy for some and even though we pre ordered they didn’t have 2 of our puddings. However the food was still delicious and we were such a large group- the serving staff were fab and we really enjoyed it. Definitely be back.

We had a family wake at 55 Wade Street and want to thank Tom and his team for their kindness and support. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was comfortable. The food was lovely, the space was perfect, and their care really made a difference on a difficult day. We’re so grateful.

Dreadful service — or should I say, complete lack of it! Booked a table for a pre-theatre meal, thinking we’d have a nice, relaxed start to the evening. Despite being the only people in the restaurant, after 20 minutes we still hadn’t even been asked if we fancied a drink. So, we took the hint, got up, and left — not that anyone noticed, as the staff were far too busy chatting. Ended up grabbing a bottle of wine from Tesco Express and heading to Major Curry instead, where the service was, as always, spot on. Sometimes Plan B turns out to be the best one!

Disappointed with the menu table was very sticky Staff were around bar all chatting to one another eventually someone came and took our order. We chose fish and chips which were acceptable There wasn’t any atmosphere or customer service from the staff . We have been to bar 55 previously and had a different menu which had more choice . Last time the restaurant was full this time we went there were only the two of us in restaurant . Very dissapointed we went to see show at Garrick afterwards and thought it would be nice to have somewhere close to eat but would not recommend bar55

Indian restaurant
Bar
Located at 9 Bird Street in Lichfield, Qmin Restaurant offers a stylish and trendy dining experience with a contemporary twist on classic Indian dishes. The restaurant is known for its seasonal and classical Indian cuisine prepared by highly experienced kitchen staff. Customers have praised the attentive service and delicious food, with some noting that certain dishes were spicier than expected. Whether dining in or ordering takeaway online, Qmin Restaurant promises a satisfying culinary experience with ample portions of flavorful food.
Are you looking for an upmarket Indian restaurant where the food is delicious and the service exceptional? Well, Qmin Restaurant certainly fits the bill. Visited Monday evening with a friend for the first time and we were not disappointed. A wide range of traditional and non-traditional dishes were available in a laid back and elegant surroundings. We started off by sharing two types of poppadoms (plain and spicy) along with dips. The crispy onion bhajis along with the chicken puri (what a revelation) were really flavoursome. The main star of the evening was the Chasni Dhara, a delicious and mild spicy curry sauce, with lots of prawns. Steamed rice and garlic and coriander naan really complimented the dish. The meal was round off with Gulab Jamun served with ice cream and fresh fruit. What a truly lovely place to experience outstanding cuisine and service. Can’t wait to go back.

I hadn’t visited Qmin for a while, but really enjoyed my takeaway on Friday evening. I had Pink Salmon Tikka, which was delicious, plenty of spices and very moreish, a perfect starter. For the main I had one of my favourite dishes, Chicken Shatkora, I love the zingy, tangy taste of the shatkora rind, it came with lemon chilli rice which added an extra layer of ‘kick’ without being overwhelmingly spicy. The portions were large and it came with complimentary poppadums and pickles. The staff were very friendly, and I’ll definitely be popping back for a ‘sit down’ meal soon!

I booked a table for twelve for my 60th birthday and asked for the tables to be laid out in a rectangle, rather than a long line, so that we could all chat more easily as a group. I wasn’t really expecting this to be possible so was delighted to find the table exactly as I had requested. The food was lovely, as always, and the service very friendly. There is more space around the tables so you don’t feel on top of the table next to you. We will be back!

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant
Ego Mediterranean Restaurant & Bar is a delightful waterside destination that boasts stunning views of the Minster through its expansive glass front. This charming venue offers a diverse menu featuring an enticing blend of Spanish, Greek, and Italian cuisine, making it a perfect spot for food lovers seeking variety. Whether you're in the mood for tapas or traditional pasta dishes, Ego promises to deliver an enjoyable dining experience amidst picturesque surroundings.
If you're looking for a lovely place to eat in Lichfield, look no further than Ego. A contemporary Mediterranean restaurant with a wide lakeside view, modern furniture, and great food to boot. Despite having arrived early to our booking, we were quickly welcomed and brought to our table overlooking the lake. For the most part, our experience was great, having been served by very attentive staff and rapid food service. For our night, we started with pan-seared scallops on a bed of mashed peas. These were wonderfully tender. Following this was a fantastic beef bouginogne, which I couldn't recommend enough. The portion was large, with plenty of meat that just melted in the mouth. It was absolutely brought together by the flavourful gravy, with the vegatable crisps adding a crunch to balance the tenderness of the meat. My partner instead had Morrocan lamb, which was well worth a try, being just as tender as the beef and incredibly rich in flavour. For dessert, I would also recommend the tiramasu, which was perfect in both texture and flavour, particularly the marscapone. Though if you prefer ice cream, the sundae portions were certainly generous. Overall, the food was great, and the service was attentive. The only perceivable downside was a loudly upset child that repeatedly disrupted the atmosphere of an otherwise lovely night.
Harrison L — Google review
Great food, Really tasty, served hot and fresh. Only complaint was the amount of peppercorn sauce you're given for £2.50, it was pretty insulting tbh 😂 We had to ask for extra. They did give us 3 ti.es as much in the extra portion for no charge though. Great friendly Service. We don't live locally so it was a nice treat before a concert at Lichfield Cathedral.
N B — Google review
We attended here to celebrate two of my family members birthdays, we were greeted and seated quickly which was nice, drinks were asked for quickly and that's where it kind of went down hill really. The food service was extremely slow in-between starters and mains, so much so the waitress had to apologise after we were asked for more drinks and still hadn't been served our food. The appetizers were lovely! I had a harrissa chicken and my partner had the hummus with pitta bread, both delicious and perfect size for a starter. There was then, over 1 hours time until the mains came out. We are a table of 6 and ordered the food all together so not exactly a huge party unexpected on a Friday night. When the food did come out, 4 of us had ordered the Duo pork and they were all presented differently, some were cut, some were whole, and one came out the size of a kids portion. We then had to ask for a gent to come over and see the differences, and in fairness he was great, he completely agreed, it wasn't spotted by 2 chefs and within 2 minutes had a fresh plate out for us. My veggie partner did say there was plenty of vegetarian options and the goat cheese pizza was really nice, but soggy on the base and would advise it needs cooking more. Unfortunately as beautiful as the pork was, it was like it was sat under a lamp for 15 minutes because 2 were warm, the potatoes were the hottest part of the dish. Drinks wise, my friend had a passion fruit martini, the first one I'd ever seen without an actual passion fruit in it and said it was weak. My long island ice tea was also weak. Overall, was a lax meal, we felt it was quite overpriced for what we received and the timings in the kitchen and the service of food was not up to par.

A happy place. The Management at this restaurant clearly understands that happy staff means happy customers. Not all Ego's are the same. Usual lovely food, served hot typically a one hour visit for your two course meal. Some disappointing portion control when I would rather just pay a bit more. A mean side of scallops and only half a bread roll with my soup...

What a pleasure to be served in a restaurant where the staff are clearly very happy, totally competent and work together as an efficient team. Nestled in the heart of Lichfield, The Tudor offers a delightful blend of history and culinary excellence. This charming establishment, dating back to 1510, boasts an inviting atmosphere that transports you to a bygone era. Visitors can indulge in quirky chocolates from the luxury chocolate shop or savor traditional dishes like omelettes and hearty pies. Enjoy a cup of Earl Grey while admiring views reminiscent of Samuel Johnson's time.
We took some friends here as we had been previously and had an amazing experience and time, so thought we would share with some more friends who travelled from Stoke on Trent. We were all absolutely delighted and the staff team delivered outstanding customer service, we were met and greeted by Leah and Natasha who are lovely ladies and what great senses of humour! Guy, Harry and the Chef Jay and Ahmed took exceptional care of the 6 of us. The menu has an excellent array of choices and we had deep fried onion rings and cheesy garlic bread the best we’ve ever tasted. The Bacon chop, cottage pie and chicken parmigiana were quite simply delicious and excellent value for money and we all tried something different and we all agreed it was worth the journey from Stoke on Trent. One of our group bought some chocolates as we were leaving but they were gone by the time we arrived home! Thanks to Guy and the team who made our visit perfect nothing was too much trouble and they all went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed! We shall definitely be back! An outstanding customer service experience in such an iconic setting we shall definitely return!

Went there yesterday for the first time and will definitely be going back. I had the cottage pie which was amazing and way underpriced @£14.95 as would have been happy to pay £18.95 in today’s market. Service and ambiance were also amazing and, had to buy some of their wonderful chocolates when leaving. Apparently they do fantastic afternoon tea so respectably suggest that the old fashion black and white uniform with aprons, like they wore in the old tea rooms might add to the charm . Im sure visiting Americans would love it. 😂😂

We were looking for a venue that would customise an Afternoon Tea as there's always too much cake. We struck gold with this place!! Some of the cakes were replaced with savoury bites and we added a few bowls of chips to the table. Ahmed and his team were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. A 60th birthday treat to remember. Would highly recommend!!!

Would of given 5 stars if I had a window seat but unfortunately either occupied or smaller table. Ordered club sandwich , all day breakfast and kids burger meal as pictured. It’s a 500 year old building so price is reflected in that . Served very quickly , maybe not as busy as normal due to people outside getting ready for Lichfield Barrow. Food is good quality.

I took a friend for a treat for afternoon tea having enjoyed a very nice breakfast at The Tudor cafe a month earlier. The terrace upstairs is very pleasant but on one of the hottest days of the year sadly the parasols were all locked away in the corner. Our afternoon tea consisted of 3 finger sandwiches each, which were pleasant enough, a nice scone with jam and clotted cream, a mini macaroon a mini Victoria sponge cake (mini being a small mouthful) and a chocolate of our choice as well as a small brownie. After the afternoon tea was served we were left. No cutlery, no napkins, no service! That was it. We had to go to the til several times to ask for extra milk or top ups of tea and it was not busy at all. Really disappointing. To top it off we were then charged for the extra pot of tea. At £20 a head for a standard afternoon tea I would have expected the tea to be flowing. Very poor service indeed….. up your game Tudor Cafe

We ate here with friends on a Saturday afternoon. Food was excellent and freshly cooked. Good portion sizes. Excellent service and friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Even brought some chocolates from the shop as a present.
Paula K — Google review
Been coming here for years for afternoon teas for birthdays etc. we came here last month for my mother's birthday for the afternoon tea and was utterly disappointed. Firstly I must say the girl serving us was attentive and lovely so no fault there. The fault lay in the food itself, we had afternoon tea for 5 adults. One of us only eats cheese sandwichs which I let them know ahead of time. We ended up with 2 ham and tomato (one small piece of tomato on each) 4 cheese, 2 chicken mayo, and 6 tuna mayo. Less then 3 sandwich fingers each and not the lovely array of fillings like Cajun chicken etc as advertised online. Also when we asked about the drinks included we were told at the time 1 drink per person. Again not the 2 as advertised. My sister did phone after when we re looked online and noticed we were essentially short-changed and spoke to someone who said they would speak to the kitchen and get back to us....that was last month. Poor food, don't know their own menu and poor communication. It was wonderful the 1st few years we started coming then the last 2/3 years it's slowly gone downhill.

The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum and Bookshop is a must-visit for literature enthusiasts. It's the birthplace of Samuel Johnson, the renowned writer behind the first English Dictionary. The museum offers tours of the 1707 house where Johnson was born and raised, providing insight into his fascinating life through a collection of over 8,000 items including original manuscripts, books, sculptures, and even his favorite armchair.
A much bigger building than you first think. I spent about 90 minutes there, as there are 4 floors of information. We didn't realise at first but there is a "way round" following the information boards, starting in the basement and working upwards. To be honest I wasn't massively interested in SJ but it was quite interesting and worth learning about. The house itself is lovely and interesting with a view over the market. The book shop is okay and the lady there was informative and friendly.
Brian M — Google review
Informative and interesting museum over four floors of a period townhouse. There's a short video explaining Johnson's place in British history and a copy of his groundbreaking dictionary on display. Engaging and helpful staff make for a worthwhile visit that fits comfortably under forty minutes.

The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum is a delightful gem in Lichfield. Stepping inside feels like traveling back in time, offering a charming glimpse into the life of one of England's greatest literary figures. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting—a must-visit for any history or literature enthusiast! Plus, the entry is for free 🆓
Gigliola M — Google review
Really appreciated the "Johnson in his century" exhibit on the second floor — it's a simple thing but this type of formatting is just so effective in contextualising history (which can too easily be a muddle of names and dates). Also had fun using the ink blotter on the first floor and flipping through the dictionary facsimile on the top floor. I was pleasantly surprised to find that entry is free (given that it is a smaller museum far away from the London belt) and hope people donate generously. I came away with a greater interest in the man behind the first definitive English-language dictionary and would happily visit again. In the meantime, I'm off to visit its London counterpart, 17 Gough Square (and Hodge the Cat)!

Excellent small (and free) museum with friendly host.

Had an excellent time learning more about Samuel Johnson and the staff member was very knowledgeable about Johnson and Lichfield in general, so I sound up walking away with plenty of ideas for other stops while visiting Lichfield. The museum looks small but packs many exhibits and artifacts from Johnson's life and times across five floors. Free to enter and there's a bookshop on the ground floor, so do consider visiting and maybe bringing home a book (or at least a bookmark) to support the museum.

With its inviting indoor seating and a delightful beer garden offering stunning views of the cathedral's spires, it’s an ideal spot to unwind. The pub boasts a selection of bar snacks like cheeseboards, pork pies, and scotch eggs to complement your drink.
Visited this little pub in Lichfield for a quick drink. The atmosphere was great as soon as I walked in. It was quite busy but I didn't have to wait long to get service. The pint of lager that I had was excellent and the barman was really friendly and efficient. The whole place was clean and with an open fire it felt very much like Christmas. There is no car park but I certainly think that it is worth the walk. I will be returning.

The wife and I had a very enjoyable drink here. Being a real ale lover who likes to take his dog out with him, unsurprisingly I'm a fan of the Joules chain. It's certainly a very popular place as we had the last seat in the long end narrow bar and it remained standing room only until we left. Simple bar food is available which would have been very tempting had we not already eaten. Reasonable prices and a friendly crowd, what's not to like.

The Wall Roman Site in Staffordshire is an ancient archaeological site that offers free entry to visitors. It was once a Roman military staging post, serving as an inn or mansio along the route to north Wales. Established in 50 AD, it became a crucial stop and posting station due to its strategic location at a crossroads. The site features ruins of a bathhouse and inn, providing insight into Roman military operations and daily life.
Fantastic site. Went on a Tuesday and it was pretty empty, so would definitely recommend going on a weekday. Overall nice history and the town of wall is a very lovely town

A compact little site with Roman foundations but it was explained there is probably more in surrounding area. We had a guided tour which was great as you can only get so much on notice boards. Plus spoken word is so much easier to absorb when you are dyslexic. It interesting, free parking and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Even have a few arrowheads on display in the museum

A well signed, well kept Roman outpost. Definitely worth the visit. There's a small free car park about a 1 minute walk away, and it's free to walk around the site.

The Wall Roman Site is a lovely and fascinating historic place to visit. It's great for getting a sense of Roman history in the area, and it's well-managed by English Heritage. A big bonus is the available parking, which makes it an easy and convenient stop for a day out. It's a highly recommended visit for anyone interested in this period of history.

It is a nice enough place. Green and great for walking with pets. The ruins are, well, ruins. Nothing much to see here (for a naive audience). There are small information boards throughout to educate visitors. There are no entry tickets. I found it empty on a Saturday afternoon.

A nicely presented Roman site with remains of a bath house and guest house. The site is owned by the National Trust and managed by English Heritage, which is why the same place appears on both websites - that wasn't clear to me before I visited! The small museum is free but only open on some days - check before you travel. The volunteers staffing it were very friendly and informative, and helped me enjoy my visit. Strongly recommended for an insight into Roman activity in this area.

This intimate restaurant features just 24 seats, including four at the Chef's Table, allowing guests to enjoy an up-close view of the kitchen action. The ambiance is cozy yet sophisticated, perfect for those looking to indulge in modern British cuisine.
In a pretty unassuming town, is this wonderful restaurant. I went because he was on the telly, after waiting a year for a table. At the last minute, we had to move our reservation because of a daughter’s theatre show and the team were kind and helped that happen. It was our first experience of this team and the actual experience of being in the restaurant followed that. The staff are young, friendly, chatty (but not too much) and genuinely seem involved in helping you have the best time. The staff are everywhere and nowhere in the best possible way. It’s a beautiful room and it’s cool to be able to see the many chefs hard at work. The menu was excellent. Everything made sense and was delicious. We went for a shared wine flight and the sommelier was cool - she was really into it. The place has this balance of intimate yet family sort of feel. On the edge of formal and casual. It was also full. It’s great to experience such quality of experience and see young people getting into it with great service and a commitment to excellence. Thank you for a lovely evening. The banana was great and not the best dish! So much to enjoy.

So it’s taken a while to get a table, was it worth the wait? To be honest we had forgotten we had booked. Too many drinks on New Year’s Eve had resulted in this lunchtime treat. It was so so good. From the opening snacks to the Banana man dessert there was no disappointment. The service was impeccable and you could see why the restaurant had earned its Michelin star.

We waited 12 months for our table. It was worth the wait. We had the 7 course tasting menu. The food and ambience were fantastic. The bread was outstanding. The waiting staff were great. They explain every course to you as they arrive. Our table was next to the kitchen so we could watch as our food was prepared. We would love to go again.

We waited over a year for this evening and it was definitely worth it! The service was impressive, from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Flo and Ky, in particular, we're an absolute delight and made our experience so much more fun! They're a credit to the team! The food itself was exceptional and every dish (as part of the contemporary tasting menu) was packed full of flavour and exquisitely put together! It was great to try new ingredients and flavours. We opted to try Tom's infamous 'No Ordinary Schoolboy' dessert too, that he created for the Great British Menu, inspired by the Bananaman cartoon. It was as fun and delicious as we'd expected it to be! The dining area was relaxed yet classy, and it was lovely to be able to see Tom and his staff at work in the open plan kitchen. We were hosted beautifully with no pressure for us to leave. We'd highly recommend you try this restaurant, we will definitely be back again.

We had the most fabulous night, the service was faultless and the food was sublime. Each course was culinary artistry. It is obviously expensive, but it was an experience we will not forget. Tom runs such a team, all of the staff were very knowledgeable about what we were eating and seemed to enjoy their job. Meeting Tom at the end of the night was a big bonus. ( And a lovely young man,Ronnie, that I taught 27 years ago) Thank you everyone for a fabulous night.

Visited with my wife last Saturday evening. We booked this over a year ago so we have been looking forward to this for a while and had high expectations! However they were exceeded in every way. Potentially the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life - The service was outstanding from the minute we walked in until the minute we left. Great to see Tom Shepherd working hard at the pass as well! We will definitely be back.

Although a late review, it’s certainly a glowing one! I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Upstairs by Tom Shepherd in Lichfield to celebrate my 22nd birthday, and I can honestly say it was flawless from start to finish. We had the tasting menu, and every single course was an absolute masterpiece — beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and bursting with incredible flavours. Each dish felt like its own little celebration, and you could really see (and taste) the passion and creativity behind every element. It is certainly on the expensive side, but that’s to be expected from a Michelin-starred restaurant of this calibre. And honestly, it was worth every penny. I would highly recommend treating yourself at some point, you will have absolutely no regrets. A truly unforgettable dining experience. I can’t wait to return in the future for another special occasion!

Excellent service. I love the 20 hot wings, they’re amazing and such great value for money. The fries were piping hot and delicious, as was the whole meal. Thank you KFC Lichfield for such a great experience.

Lizzy & Fatima were absolutely lovely. Very friendly and polite & Great table service. We aren’t from this area and popped in for lunch. The branch was super clean and good open space to have family lunch. Great prices, piping hot food and a speedy service. Would give 10 stars if I could. Probably the best costumer service I've experienced. We had a table of 11. We were seated immediately. The were zero complications or mistakes with the orders. Food came out very quick after ordering. Was piping hot, flavoursome and very generous portions. (What more could you want?) Staff were so lovely! Amazing atmosphere. The only con would be the metal chairs. Maybe okay for some but I have a disability so, that's the only thing I would change! 10/10 definitely going back

My husband and I visited Jungle steeet kitchen for the first time this evening and it was the best experience! Its been the hottest day of the year and as soon as we walked in, the place was lovely and cool because they have air con! This made us happy from the start and then things got even better when we saw how gorgeous the place looks - very nice and so clean! All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We tried a few different drinks and they were so refreshing and tasted really good. We ordered the Crazy Chaat and Monkey bites for starters and they were some of the best starters we have eaten in a long time and we have eaten in lots of different places! The food was presented so well, the added touches with the pretty flowers on the food and the flavours of the food were insane! We also ordered the Carnivore feast platter which we both enjoyed loads! We will definitely be going back and highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience at Jungle Street Kitchen! The variety of dishes they offer is impressive, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We went for the Tiger Fiesta, which included a perfect mix of chops, jerk chicken, and mac and cheese. It was super filling and packed with flavor – every bite was a treat! Plus, it’s great to know that everything is halal, so it’s a win all around. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for tasty, hearty food with a fantastic vibe!

An okay place for food. I wonder if there is too much choice on the menu. Also would strongly recommend against serving food on a plastic tree stump. Not only does it look a bit daft but it also means the food went cold much quicker! Drinks were really nice!

Well, where do I start they put a 5% service charge on your food bill automatically witch is fine but when a server spills gravey off someone else's plate that they serve to another member of your party down the back of your coat and says NOTHING at the time no apologies or recondition they have done so is not acceptable. The stake is served on a plate where you can't cut it without the gravey spilling everywhere. No stake knife provided my friend sent the food back for a replacement plate, which took around 50 minutes to an hour for them to bring a fresh one back with an appropriate plate & stake knife My friends arrived an hour earlier than us so they were eating starters as we arrived they did not finish them, and they were bringing them their mains out. Myself and partner had ordered on the same recipe an my starter took around 60mins then after that hour 45mins after had a server come ask me with a receipt of what our odder was asked if we had our mains served yet I said No & my parter has not had his starter yet he ordered the same as me 😒 then it was about 20 mins later they come with his starter he had been waiting 2 hours 15mins for his starter my main still had not arrived it come around 15mins after by this point our friends then were asking if he had his main yet because they were ready to leave as they arrive at the restaurant at 6pm its was half 9 at night at this point we arrived at 7pm due to child care reason his main didn't come until around half hour after that so finally by 10pm he had his main served with a refund off them with out asking but only for his plate of food £11.50 They seem to be quicker with some dishes than others it was all a bit un organised. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING EVER !! They clean the back of my friends coat off as he had to tell them what had happened so they clean it for him -2 out side he had to walk to the car with NO coat on as it was WET ! From them wiping it down. The food really wasn't worth the wait, nothing special. On the plus, you can take your own alcohol in just get intoxicated. Why you wait 3 hours for your food
Anna C — Google review
Very nice food though it did take longer than the 45mins we were told it would take. The service should have been more attentive, was not spoken to once whilst waiting.

We were visiting Lichfield to see family and came to this restaurant and wow what a gem! Delicious food for everyone! The chicken, meat and fish were all divine! So flavoursome, tender and just delicious. Super fresh too. We shared the carnivore feast and seafood island amongst adults and the children had kid meals. Highly recommend the platters, best we've ever had out. The lady that showed us to our table and served us during our meal was extremely accommodating and friendly. A service rare to find these days. I'm worried to eat out again as I know it just can't get any better than this place. Lichfield is a very lucky city to have you.

Situated in a beautiful location, it's praised for its ample parking and accommodating atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy the relaxed vibe and tasty food options at this popular establishment.
Hi I perform here regularly with the house band and help host on Tuesdays. Many years ago I used to go to the jam night at the Grapes Stafford and was gutted when it stopped. Never thought I'd see that kind of atmosphere or setup ever again..... Until I found the Feathers! If you want a top night out with food, drink, banter and incredible bands....look no further. Mike and Trace make you feel part of the family, and even the band! We have some incredible times on that famous stage and it must be seen and heard to be believed! Amateur or pro, all levels of singer and musician have joined us on stage and returned for more fun week after week. It's a major fixture in my diary now and Mike and T really helped me emerging from covid when I was literally on my own in life. Try it. Come down. Book a table. Enjoy these incredible moments of live music and food/drink rolled into one! You can check out anytime you like.... but you can never leave!

Stopped over in the motorhome for a night and ended up staying 2 nights to see the open mic night on Tuesday and what a night it was great atmosphere and awesome music. Unfortunately no food during the week but just a 20 min walk to Lichfield center with loads of eateries, shops etc. Couldn't give 5 stars as no dogs allowed in bar but there is a lovely beer garden. 1st time staying over at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Booked in via Booking.com and it was for work reasons, in the area, too. Ended up staying three nights. Ideal location from work perspective. Lovely hotel, gardens and facilities, just off the main A51 heading out from Lichfield. The bar and restaurant are huge and split across several rooms, and further seating at the rear of the property is for serving breakfasts primarily. Great choices of alcohol on tap and bottled. All the serving staff are marvellous too. All friendly, personable, chatty and welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Lots of friendly banter. Food is deliciously prepared and just right. Breakfasts are sumptuous, and such a variation for all courses, in fact. I had chicken and bacon salad, olives and tiramisu one evening, followed another night, by homemade pizza, ciabatta, chips and ice cream. I had a triple room booked for me as the last room available and not disappointed. Big bedroom, firm and comfortable. Loads of space facing the front of the property. Big bedroom/lounge, windows, and bathroom, and good rainwater/spray shower All in all a wonderful experience and would stay again

We had our wedding reception at The Hedgehog in Lichfield yesterday. As it was a relatively small affair, 18 people in total, we were able to use the private dining room. Alina and her team were fantastic on the run up to the event and on the day itself. The whole event went so smoothly. We were allowed early access to the room in the morning so that we could dress it ourselves, although they did offer to do this for us. The welcome and service from Alina and her team was amazing. The food was exceptional and our guests were able choose exactly what they wanted from the full menu. The bedrooms were very comfortable too and the full English breakfast was most welcome after the night before.

Amazing quality of food. I had the roast beef Sunday dinner and it was delicious... Perfection. They gave me extra gravy on request. A little noisy but this is a popular place so it was to be expected. I love that it is a dog friendly place, with a large designated indoor area and bowls and fresh water by the front door to help yourself. Our waitress was very friendly and went above and beyond and got some treats my dog. Definitely go again, need to try everything on the menu.

The art center called The Hub at St Mary's is a stunning structure made of Derbyshire sandstone, located in Lichfields Market Square. It was constructed in 1870 and is the third church to be built here since the 12th century. However, due to a decline in congregation during the mid-20th century, efforts were made in the 1970s to repurpose it as a multi-use cultural facility.
A lovely place for a gig. Miles Hunt was brilliant. It was beautiful inside and very handy with bar and toilets closed by. Comfy seats and a good view of the artist. Excellent 👍 A funny part was the head of Lara Croft poking over the top all the time which was an item from the 90s exhibition 😂

St Mary's Church Tower Tour I did the recently started up again Tower Tour today (Wednesday 23rd July 2025) The weather wasn't ideal today, but there were still some great views to be had. You need to be reasonably fit, and good with heights to do this. There are some almost vertical steps to climb, and descend again afterwards (backwards), as well as narrow spiral stone steps. Well worth a visit, and reasonably priced too. Tom & Angela were our guides and were very knowledgeable, and explained everything in just enough detail to make our visit interesting, without overdoing it. We visited the café beforehand where there is a lovely selection of drinks and cake, and pleasantly spaced seating. Nice clean toilet facilities on hand too.

A great use of a former place of worship within Lichfield centre, part community hub, exhibition space, events venue and cafe. The Hub was a well used and popular venue. Access to the 1st floor was via a 2 or 3 lift or a short staircase. Pricing within the cafe was reasonable and staff were friendly and attentive. Can't really comment on other aspects of its use but looked professional and well used by the public. Worth a visit.

I did the tower tour on Saturday. I have to say, it was even better than I expected. We were guided expertly and knowledgeably by Tom, who not only ensured our safety at every level, but was also full of amazing stories about the tower and it's history. Not only an incredible view of the multi purpose hub housed within the old church, a close up sighting of the bell ringers gallery, the bells and finally a 360 degree view from the top. A birds eye view of the ancient city of Lichfield. Brilliant

Historical landmark
Speakers Corner in Lichfield is a significant community site where locals can gather to express their thoughts and opinions. Established in 2009, the area features a plaque and a code of conduct. It offers well-maintained outdoor benches, manicured gardens, and clean facilities including toilets for disabled visitors. Situated near Minster Pool, it provides a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful flowerbeds and bird-watching opportunities.
It is a nice quiet spot, next to Minster Pool. If the weather is good, it is a nice place to be. Especially with the benches nearby to sit on. When I went there yesterday, there was a flowerbed very close by. The tulips and other bulbs were in flower, so it looked really nice. Not many people were there, so it was quite peaceful. Being next to Minster Pool, it is nice to sit and watch the birds on the water. I like this spot very much, as it can be very quiet, and it is a lovely place to spend a few minutes. If the weather is warm enough, it is nice to sit and have a meal there. 😁👍👍

A beautiful place nature mixed with commercial and with religion too. Loads of outside benches well maintained clean and open space manicured gardens and cleaning teams who clearly pride themselves on a decent job. Toilets including disabled available and a huge carpark minutes away from speakers corner. Absolutely ideal chill out location as long as you can get a bench as it is a hugely popular area with everyone.

Not much of a point of interest in my opinion. Better things to see around Lichfield such as Minster pool behind it which is a beautiful place, especially in Winter when the gentle Christmas lights reflect of the body of water (for this reason I give it 5 stars)

Stowe Pool is a historic reservoir located in Lichfield, Staffordshire. It offers fishing opportunities and features a perimeter trail and grassy fields with views of the magnificent Lichfield Cathedral. The cathedral, known for being the only medieval three-spired cathedral in the UK, is surrounded by Beacon Park and Stowe Pool.

Nice leisurely walk around the pool with amazing views. This place is amazing for a leisurely walk looking at the wildlife. Just a short walk from Lichfield centre. Well worth a visit to take in some fresh air. It’s a recommend from me.

As a family, we always used to walk round this beautiful lake with the cathedral appearing in the background. We loved it and I still love it now. Such a peaceful walk. Can be busy but because Lichfield is such a nice area, it attracts good people so you know it will be a great day out any time of the year. You can fish on the lake with the necessary fishing license and day ticket which you can purchase from the ranger hut on site. There are grass parts and benches around the lake so you can sit, eat and drink. A shopping centre and some public toilets are located 5minutes walk away and a larger park around 10minutes walk where you can take the whole family and enjoy a picnic.
Thomas L — Google review
Absolutely beautiful pool, great for walks around the perimeter path which is in mostly good condition, stunning views across the pool towards the cathedral, the wildlife in and around the water is beautiful to see shame about the poor fish being hooked by the fishermen now and then, everyone we have ever met here are friendly and its nice to see other dogs, very well kept with plenty of bins for rubbish and dog poop , definitely worth a visitbif in Lichfield

Fantastic place to walk in the middle of Lichfield. Really nice to have a place like this in the city for wildlife. A few species of birds stay here or passby. There is a cycle path that runs along side which reduces the amount of bikes on the footpath.

Small pool with circular path around, do have a children's play area. Ducks and geese on pond so take some seed to feed them not bread. Dogs welcome, saw some enjoying a swim.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the historic city of Lichfield, Caffè Nero stands as a charming coffee shop that perfectly blends modernity with tradition. This cozy spot is not just about coffee; it offers an array of light dishes and specially crafted hot and cold beverages. Even if you're not a coffee drinker, Caffè Nero has you covered with delightful vegan hot chocolate options made from oat, coconut, or soya milk, along with a variety of syrups to customize your drink.
Amazing coffee shop! The baristas are great—I've been coming here weekly for the past two years, and they're always energetic and ready to serve my coffee!

Nero Lichfield is always very good. It is very popular so you sometimes have a 5 or 10 minute wait. The coffee is worth waiting for. The staff are always pleasant and very helpful. Thank you ❤️☕️

So, I don't drink coffee, but Café Nero remains my favourite place to get a good vegan hot chocolate! There's oat, coconut or soya milk and lots of syrups to choose from. This branch can get really busy, but there's comfortable seating, (plus wall plugs!) really friendly staff, and some great food and cake options too.
Hannah D — Google review
In the historic city of Lichfield, where centuries of history whisper from every cobblestone, there is a monument to modern life: Caffè Nero. One approaches this establishment not for a simple cup of coffee, but for a financial transaction that doubles as a lifestyle choice. The menu is a dazzling scroll of beverages, each one promising a taste of European sophistication. An Americano, a mere £3.60, is a bold statement—a declaration that you value your coffee, and your time, at a premium. The Frappes, at a more-than-a-fiver, are a work of modern art. A delightful concoction of coffee, ice, and syrup, they are less a drink and more a delicious, temporary loan against your future earnings. The atmosphere itself is a masterclass in controlled chaos. The furniture, an eclectic mix of leather armchairs and wooden tables, looks like it was curated by a student who once went on a gap year to Italy. You'll find yourself surrounded by a diverse clientele: students who've spent their last fiver on a drink and a place to charge their laptop, and well-heeled shoppers whose handbags cost more than your car. The true beauty of Caffè Nero Lichfield is its unwavering dedication to the concept of value. It's not just a coffee; it's a statement. A statement that says, "I am a person who can afford to spend this much on a beverage, and I will sit here with my laptop until the battery dies."

Ordered fruit boosters (not the one we wanted as they didn’t have all the ingredients), chocolate milkshake & an iced caramel latte…the drinks were lovely. It’s quite a small cafè so waited for a table - cleared it ourselves. Service behind the bar was friendly & quick. Pick up their locality card - each barista made drink gets a stamp - once you have had 9 drinks your 10th is free. …Unfortunately toilets were not clean.

Nice setting, with comfortable seating. Seemed under staffed, long wait to order and tables not cleared. Frappe not great, tasted like milk with bit of Nesquik, no noticeable ice, not frothed.
Pieter — Google review
My favourite place to sit and read my book. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, the shop isn’t too noisy so I can read very easily, the armchairs in particular are very comfortable & there is a number of them.

The Olde Nook is a charming and welcoming café that offers a wide variety of delicious food options, ranging from simple tea cakes to hearty meals. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and taste of the dishes, which are all made in-house. With a seating capacity of up to 24 people, it might get crowded during peak times due to its popularity. However, the exceptional customer service and value for money make it well worth the wait.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently visited The Olde Nook and had a fantastic experience! The café, set inside an old, charming house, has a unique and cozy atmosphere that immediately feels inviting. I ordered a Full English Breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious—everything was cooked perfectly, and the portion size was generous. Plus, the price was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The coffee was excellent as well, complementing the meal perfectly. Overall, The Olde Nook offers a great combination of unique ambiance, delicious food, and great value. I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hidden gem in town. ---

The long wait for very small tasteless bowls of soup with one slice of cheap bread each was extremely disappointing. We were sat close to the kitchen and heard lots of slammed cupboard doors with plenty of microwave dings which didnt compliment the ambience of the quirky building. Our two glasses of water were tepid temperature and really quite unpleasant. Not asked even how everything was etc. Poor attention to detail on food quality and customer service. Will avoid if ever back in Lichfield.

A quaint cafe in the middle of Litchfield. The breakfast was quite possibly the best I’ve had in a very long time. The coffee was Devine too. I’d 100 percent eat here again. This cafe has an upstairs seating area with bathroom.

Great experience! Met the owner and the team who were friendly and a great laugh. It’s old charming building with its quirks and an amazing history behind it. The breakfast was top notch you’ll end up craving one every weekend. Which admittedly I have walked the dog to for the past four weekends in a row. The afternoon tea was great value for money and a lovely cosy environment to catch up with old friends. I would definitely recommend .

Overall, The Olde Nook is a hidden gem in Lichfield, offering great breakfasts and delightful afternoon teas at very reasonable prices. Really disappointed with our visit this morning. We were served 2 breakfasts both with raw sausages. The atmosphere is very quiet so I quietly told the waitress about the issue. The cafe was filling up so I thought it was best to highlight the issue. We didn’t receive an offer of fresh cooked sausages, no apology, and to top it off charged full price. I didn’t want to make a scene as it was very busy but quiet inside but I do feel the food and the service was really poor. I’ve tried to contact them to discuss the issue (privately) since but cannot get through. I wouldn’t recommend.

Modern French restaurant
Nestled in a charming medieval building, Bistro 1709 offers a delightful escape into the world of classic brasserie-style cuisine. This cozy eatery is perfect for those seeking an authentic taste of French fare, featuring a menu that boasts generous portions and incredible flavors at surprisingly affordable prices. Diners rave about the delectable starters like brie and chicken pâté, while the standout pork belly with its crispy crackling has garnered much praise.
We went for Tuesday night which was quite. Simple set up, hidden gem in Lichfield. - Love all the food that we ordered. - Service was great. - Reasonable price I would recommend this place to friends and family. Hope to visit soon.

Amazing tasting food with amazing prices! Brie to start which was a good size wedge, chicken pate was very tasty and the pork belly was the best I’d had in a while with crispy crackling! Only negatives the portion of veg is way too small and the menu says £1 supplement for pork and they charged us £2, obviously not a huge difference but when we pointed out they had it listed wrong they didn’t even offer to rectify.

Eaten here lots of times. Food and service is always spot on. Very reasonably priced A must try in Lichfield .
David B — Google review
Very disappointed with my overall meal & experience. Fishcake starter was very nice apart from the 2 very large fish bones which were inside, one of which I nearly swallowed the staff couldn’t have cared less! Main of swordfish steak with £3 supplement was dry, overcooked and tasteless again staff couldn’t have cared less! My sweet was New York cheesecake with Eaton mess which was delicious when I told waiter his reaction that saved the meal - well actually no it didn’t really. Having said that my husband’s main of confit of duck was absolutely outstanding and also he enjoyed his goats cheese starter, he chose cheese & biscuits with port which was OK for his sweet. Not once did any member of staff ask how our meal was and no one bothered to apologise for the 2 large fish bones which I considered unacceptable and no one said thank you or goodbye when we left. So all in all dissatisfaction with meal we had high hopes for after 2 recommendations, had the staff not been so unfriendly & unprofessional we may have given a better rating, it was as though the 2 fish bones were my fault! There are many more places in Lichfield for us to try.

Queens Fish & Chips in Lichfield is a delightful spot that truly stands out among local eateries. This charming chippy boasts a clean and well-presented environment, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. The menu features generous portions, including their renowned kebabs, which are not only massive but also reasonably priced. Diners can choose from various options for chips and sauces, catering to diverse tastes. The staff here are known for their professionalism and friendliness, ensuring that every visit is pleasant.
First impressions count and it’s certainly the case for this chippy! I was impressed with how well the shop was presented and clean, especially during the festive season. I had the British classic “cod and chips” which tasted great and the mini fish was plenty big enough for me. They asked if I would like normal chips, battered or mixed - to be honest I preferred the normal but this is more about personal preference. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will be visiting again.

Prices are reasonable and competitive Plenty of seating inside and out whilst you wait. Offered free bottle of water on hot days. Staff are very professional, efficient and friendly - nothing is too much trouble 😊 Food is always hot, fresh and tasty. Plenty of parking. I have absolutely nothing negative to say!! Thank you for the great service you provide

Visiting from Toronto and this was the best chippie we visited during our 2 weeks here. Unreal chips (battered chips are a must try) and really great non fish options (the kabobs / mediterranean chicken are delicious). The staff were super friendly and walked us through all our options. Will be visiting again!

I got cod and chips this evening but the fish was extremely dry and the batter was not very crisp. I think the fish was frozen and it's the worst fish and chips I've had in a very long time. I'm so disappointed because this used to be a really good chip shop.

Ordered chicken & chips fpr the second time going here. First lot of chicken was dry as anything , and second time chicken is very pink! Lovely customer service but I won't be spending my money here again. If there was an option to upload the photos I really would.
Sarah L — Google review
Disappointed in my latest experience here! Low grade fish! I requested cod specifically and was clearly given coley (a cheap alternative that I was not fooled by). The worst part is that you don’t realise until you get home which is why I am leaving this honest review. It’s really frustrating that this is one of the priciest fish and chip shops in the Midlands and are serving cheap fish and passing it off as cod. I won’t be returning. This is the second time this has happened to me recently in the Midlands.

Shopping
Heart of the Country is a charming shopping village situated within rural Staffordshire on a converted farm. It comprises several unique boutiques, craft shops and restaurants housed in rustic farm buildings. Visitors can explore this quaint establishment on a sunny Saturday morning, whilst admiring its picturesque surroundings. In addition to the great selection of shops, there's also an outstanding tea shop/cafe that offers an extensive variety of teas for purchase and tasting.
We went to visit just after Christmas, unfortunately a lot of the shops were closed. But the fairy trail walk was open, and it was such a fun trail, it wasn’t really muddy either and it’s quite big and lots to see. Some parts of the trail did feel a bit tacky with the Barbie Fairies and a bit strange to see the McDonald’s toys and dummy plastic tree. It was good message to send, but I also felt putting plastic on the tree was contradicting. The pigs were out, busy splashing in the mud, so a bonus to see the animals too. The shopping area was quite big, lots of shops, toilet facilities and small businesses. Overall it was really nice to visit and I can imagine once lockdown is lifted, it’s a nice day out to go for a walk, see the pigs and get lunch too. The day out is free and there is also free parking too, so I would definitely recommend going for a family day out.

Great restsurants with affordable weekend lunch food and quirky shops. Just a pity it is so far out. Would go more if it was closer. Definitely can take the kids - young ones have outside woodland walk to explore. Older ones have food such as french style crepes and good South African bbq style lunch options. Affordable quick outing option.

The Green Fairy Woods is a delightful destination for a family walk with young children. The stroll is not too lengthy, and the park boasts adorable pigs that enjoy being noticed. Additionally, there are on-site shops where visitors can find various items and several cafe/restaurant options to choose from. While it may not warrant a long journey due to its one-hour duration, it is ideal for locals or those passing by.
Great little family walk for the little ones. Doesn't take too long to get around and there are a couple of pigs there that seem to like the attention. Shops on site for a few bits and bobs as well as cafe / restaurant options. Great if you're local or passing by, we drove 40 minutes to get to it. As nice as it is I wouldn't be able to justify much of a longer journey as you're done in about an hour, although Lichfield is very close so you could go there afterwards if you wanted to extend the day.

The fairy woods is a lovely place for a woodland wander, fairy doors, mud kitchen, stepping stones, and adventure. There's the "dummy tree" should you want your little one to donate them to the fairies and a book swap cabinet with seating for a story time. There's seating which makes for a lovely picnic spot and plenty parking! Highly recommended!!

Spent an hour here today with the kids (13 and 9). Got them some lovely crepes with Nutella from one of the cafes there. Plenty of space to sit and chill for an hour. Fairy garden is bigger than I thought, bigger and more interesting than the one at Cannock Chase.

I brought my grandaughter Esme here 4 years ago, but this time we brought her little brother Jackson along. Even though it had changed quite abit they both loved it espically when they saw Sandra, Alice and Sower (the pigs). Lovely little walk with lots of things for them to see and do.

Military Museums
The Staffordshire Regiment Museum, situated at Whittingham Barracks near Lichfield, showcases the history of the renowned regiment from its inception in 1705 till it merged with other regiments in 2014. The museum exhibits a plethora of military objects and artifacts, including armored vehicles and a replica WWI trench. Young historians can explore the museum's interactive events and dress up while learning about two old County Regiments and their successor, the Staffordshire Regiment.
Nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, The Staffordshire Regiment Museum is a hidden gem that offers a deeply immersive and personal look into military history. While it may be a small museum, it more than makes up for its size with its charm, dedication, and well-curated exhibits. The real highlight of the museum is its passionate and knowledgeable staff. Their commitment to preserving and sharing the history of the Staffordshire Regiment is evident in every conversation and exhibit. Whether you’re a military enthusiast or a casual visitor, they go above and beyond to ensure an engaging experience, bringing history to life with fascinating stories and insights. The museum itself is well-organized, featuring an impressive collection of artifacts, uniforms, weaponry, and personal accounts from soldiers who served in the regiment. The outdoor trench system is a standout attraction, offering visitors a rare chance to step back in time and experience the conditions of World War I soldiers. Despite its modest size, the museum provides an in-depth and moving tribute to those who served. The Staffordshire Regiment Museum proves that smaller museums can be just as impactful—if not more so—than larger institutions. Its welcoming atmosphere, dedicated staff, and rich historical narrative make it a must-visit for anyone interested in military history. Highly recommended!

This is my first visit here and it’s so close to Lichfield and Tamworth it’s easy to get to and has free parking. The staff member was so welcoming and gave lots of helpful information. It’s a really well thought out museum and the outside area is fantastic for wandering. The sound effects bring it to life too. The tank play area was fab and kept my children entertained for a long time

Freshly cooked food, so be prepared to wait when it’s busy. We had burgers and steak sandwiches which were cooked to perfection. Sat in the courtyard people watching and enjoying the atmosphere. Cannot thank you enough!!!!! I had my baby shower here at the weekend, from the first moment that we organised it, Claire and Nigel were extremely accommodating and made me feel at ease. Their communication with myself whilst organising the event was second to none and it made the whole experience of organising an event easy. We did a pre-visit to the venue beforehand, whereby Claire gave up her time to meet with us personally and discuss details of the event. Nothing was too much trouble for her! From here, we discussed sandwich options for the afternoon tea and also layouts of the room due to me having a large number of guests. Claire listened to all of my wishes and took these on board, going above and beyond sending me possible options via text message. On the actual day, all of the staff were so accommodating and helped set up a beautiful baby shower. Every single member of staff was a joy to be around and made the event run incredibly smoothly. They even made my friend a special treat of Brie and cranberry sandwiches which I was sadly not able to order due to pregnancy, which showed how thoughtful and care went into planning our event. The venue and overall event was praised by all who came and guests frequently commented on how beautiful the venue and food were. Cannot recommend this venue enough to host an event like this, it is absolutely stunning with fantastic staff members who go above and beyond for all!!!

Me and my wife dropped in for a fry up, we had the light breakfast £12 each and a pot of tea between us. The staff were just lovely and very attentive, they made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was beautiful, especially the sausage (think it was from packington) probably one of the best I've had. We will endeavour to visit again. The decor inside was splendid, you could spend the whole day there.
Kuldip J — Google review
The place is quite small. Less a barn.......more a shed, or an outhouse. I JEST OF COURSE. Given the size of the shopping village the size of the place is just fine. It's actually quite long, maybe ten metres but only, like 3m wide. It's enough for a dozen tables with a few seating five. The place is immaculately clean & tidy. The menu seems fine in terms of range. I'd be worried if they were trying to cook some super-posh 5 course meal with "Foam" and some hog jui cooled to sub zero temps with liquid nitrogen. You know it's a small kitchen so the menu is based (Or at least accounts) on that restriction. The staff seem efficient and communicative and are very polite and friendly. The view outside the window ain't half bad either. I had a cappuccino. It was lovely and only cost £3.50. It tasted like they used fairly dark beans - possibly an Italian espresso roast. So if you don't like dark roasts, ask before you order.

We got married here! Well had our reception here. A big shout out to Nigel, Claire and the team for helping to make our day so lovely. Despite all the chaos our guests caused them and my friends almost drinking the place dry they did an excellent job, handling everything with ease. The food was really good too and everyone had a lovely time. I couldn't recommend this place more. Whether you're just popping in for some food or holding an event here, you'll be in for a nice time

I visited this café with my toddler and found a piece of eggshell in her breakfast. When I mentioned it to the staff, the initial response was very dismissive — I was simply asked “oh, have you finished?” and given a casual “we’re sorry” with no real concern shown. I had to ask to speak to the manager before anyone took the situation seriously. The manager then tried to justify it by saying it was “only tiny,” which is not acceptable when food is being served to a young child. Finding eggshell in food raises questions about basic kitchen standards and hygiene. I was offered a free tea and coffee, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of accountability or genuine care. It’s a real shame, because I honestly thought I’d found a nice little spot to come back to regularly — but after this experience, I definitely won’t be returning.

This charming eatery has become a beloved spot for many, with its mouthwatering crepes that range from zesty lemon to rich chocolate sauce. A lovely little restaurant. I mix it up and either eat in or have a takeout meal/drink whilst waiting for my boys to be groomed. Food has always been delicious. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Delicious crepes, sweet or savoury would 100% come again just for the food, staff were so kind and lovely and the atmosphere was great too! Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our visit today. Our server was lovely and the truffle fries were the best fries we've ever had! Definitely will love to visit again .

We have an annual meal here and it couldn’t be a more ideal setting. The food is beautiful and the staff are always accommodating of our ‘loud’ family and theatrics. The French onion soup was the best, but this has been overtaken by the pate this year (2025). Go at Christmas

Decent food, but shame about the service! Rushed to order; as we were taking too much time to choose what to have, we were told we only had the table we had booked for 90 minutes (the place wasn't full and this wasn't mentioned when we booked). Desert removed before we had finished. The place was quite empty by then but we really didn't feel wanted. We could have stayed longer and have had more drinks. We went to another place in same outlet. Prices are on the high side for what you get. Shame as the place came highly recommended by a friend, although recent reviews seem to indicate it's not what it used to be.

Delightful Friday afternoon lunch. Excellent service with a smile from Carly. Attentive & friendly! ☺️ Absolutely delicious battered cod and chips with pea and mint purée. Perfect portion size - not too much. Lovely interior & atmosphere too, kept warm by the fire. Would definitely recommend! 💌

We attended for my birthday with our 3 week old son on our first outing for dinner. Carly looked after us, she was super attentive and really made our experience super easy. The food was exceptional as it always is. The chef (Connor) also found out about my birthday and went above and beyond by sending us a cake out as a treat to help us celebrate my birthday. He even decorated around the plate and put a candle on. The staff really went above and beyond as they always do!

Absolutely stunning meal once again here. Treated superbly well by the lovely Kim - we keep coming back here for several reasons - the food (delish!!) the service (tonight the wonderful Kim) and the atmosphere (always chill, always super comfy) - having moved to the area only a year ago this has cemented itself as my absolute favourite place to come to!

Lovely meal. Enjoyed our meal and had good service from the team. Lovely ambiance on a sunny Saturday. Weirdly quiet for the time of day and being a Saturday? Possibly as a direct result in being quite expensive for the average punter? Mid-high range prices in my opinion may be a put off for some. This is only my opinion and this may be fully justified by the owners etc. Other than that we really enjoyed the chateaubriand which was cooked perfectly and service. Many thanks

Nestled in South Normanton, The School House Restaurant is a charming dining destination that beautifully marries modern British cuisine with European flair. Housed in a historic 19th-century school hall, this stylish venue offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Whether you're planning a wedding or simply enjoying lunch with family, the restaurant's attentive staff ensures every detail is taken care of. Diners can indulge in seasonal dishes crafted from regional produce while soaking up the lovely views and ambiance.
Came as part of a group and enjoyed everything. The service was really good, some of the group were chatting to the team on a first name basis by the end of it. Food is fresh but from what I understand the menu isn't necessarily available far in advance as it's dependent on what is on season. Everything was beautifully cooked although one of the party wasn't happy with the size of the chips (thought they were too big)and requested a change to fries which the team was happy to accommodate. There was a decent sized car park with beautiful views that you can take in if you sit outside. It seemed like a popular space though so I would very much recommend booking in advance.

We shall be returning with our friends. Thank you to all concerned.

Attended this venue with for a post funeral/wake of a friend. A really nice venue. A very good use of space in the function room. The bar service could be improved a little as it was slow but staff were really pleasant and friendly. Venue looks great for weddings with plenty of space outside. The owners could do with considering some better air quality options like air conditioning on the warmest of days as the portable fans they just wasn't up for the job. Parking is a little limited but due to location they seem limited on options to improve this. Overall though a really nice venue and definitely recommend.

Had my Aunties 21st themed birthday (she’s was 70) meal here, paid for our private space, it was well presented and they reorganised when we said we were expecting more guests. My auntie is severely allergic to gluten and also very fussy, she had a separate menu and was told they could adapt some choices off the regular menu. The manager was attentive, very funny, and patient with us all. Food was good, a bit pricey but all 15 plates arrived hot and very well presented.

It was a great place to visit. The garden centre is a good one. There's a few decent craft shops, including antiques, but the 5 stars are awarded to the tiny corner establishment where I sat down to a delicious cornish pasty followed by a very tasty mint chocolate ice cream 😋 . The lady who served me was very polite and warm-hearted. I will visit again !

Love love looove this place! You can sit indoors, outside inn a veranda or in the courtyard. Very quirky menu - recommend the toasted bananas with bacon, banana, greek yoghurt and maple syrup - absolutely delicious. Went with several different parties and everybody was VERY happy with their respective choices which doesn't happen often😁.. Service was always friendly and efficient. Pricing was very reasonable as well. Lovely to find such a gem that is one of a kind rather than a chain. Definitely will return again and again!

Guildhall, located on Bore Street, is a stunning Medieval building with an unknown exact age. It is believed to have been completed in the late 14th century and served as the venue for Lichfield's Guild events. The interior boasts a remarkable hammerbeam roof and rich oak panelling. Attached to the building is a prison for felons and debtors, dating back to the mid-16th century.
What a beautiful building to see a very good Duran Duran tribute band. Duran UK are the best as far as I am concerned. A large crowd of fans made for a wonderful atmosphere. If you ever get the chance e to go to Lichfield do ,it's a beautiful place with stunning Tudor architecture

Fantastic venue for live music and arts events in the centre of Litchfield.
Jayne D — Google review
The Guildhall is a spectacular and ancient venue in the centre of Lichfield. I’ve been there several times now to see live music events. The building is very old, with a high ceiling, wooden beams, and plaques listing all the mayors of Lichfield going back hundreds of years. As a music venue it is slightly challenging: the high ceiling means that there’s a significant amount of echo which I felt wasn’t ideal for a loud rock band. However it does work for more acoustic acts, and when the venue is full that makes a difference to the sound. On the occasions I visited there was a bar staffed by volunteers which had a fairly limited range of drinks available, though still something to suit most tastes. As it’s in the centre of town there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby for drinks before or after the show.

We went to play chess in the Guildhall. The club is big and active with three matches being played against other local clubs on the night we went. Games start at 7:15 which is a little earlier than is usual. Though there were league matches in progress there were also plenty of people playing casual games, and there was also some instruction going on. Tea and coffee were available and free and the club was very welcoming. If I lived closer I'd be tempted to play there regularly

Having previously purchased two pieces of artwork from this branch, I have since received numerous invites through the post with meet the artists and special events on offer. I decided to attend one of the special events and wish I'd never bothered. The event was supposedly midway through, yet there was only one member of staff advising buyers and covering the whole store at 4pm on a Saturday. I went with my partner and we were greeted after 15 minutes of walking round the store not by a friendly professional mannered sales assistant as you'd expect at the front of house of a business, but by a condensending woman (elder than both of us) who looked us up and down and advised we needed to look at the affordable pieces, pointing us over to a corner of the showroom before we'd even had chance to speak. I am completely disgusted with their approach to customer service, let alone how they value returning custom. I will not be returning as there are great competitors in the city which offer the works of the same artists and service with a smile.

I bought two pictures from Whitewall Galleries Leicester Shop. The pictures were delivered quickly, were well packed and I was happy ... BUT ... I specifically asked NOT to be emailed any marketing emails They said they needed my email address to send me the invoice, which I reluctantly gave saying "Please make sure I am not added to your mailing list". The Shop Manager insisted I wouldn't be and even showed me the screen where she clicked the 3 "NO ADVERTISING" buttons on the screen when entering my contact details, but this has obviously been ignored and I have been getting 2,3,4 emails a week from Whitewall Galleries ever since. I have clicked unsubscribe several times and they just ignore that too and keep sending me advertising emails or 'offers' 3-4 times a week. It's incredibly annoying to the point I have had to call the Shop Manager to ask her to speak with their IT people and get me off their list. I googled their head office to call them too and a "write a review" box flashed up ... so I thought I would do exactly that..... LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND RESPECT THEIR WISHES. I won't buy anything else from you again for this sole reason ... just leave me alone!

Amazing food! Amazing service! Couldn’t recommend it anymore! The food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Had the chef special lamb dish (which was recommended by server) a chicken korma both fantastic. Have been now twice in 5 days WHOOPS! Can’t wait to return again soon.

Absolutely the best curry in Lichfield! We ordered the lamb bhuna and dupiaza, and the meat was so tender it just fell apart. The sauces were seasoned to perfection, and the garlic and cheese naan was wonderfully soft and buttery. The only small downside was that the rice was slightly firm, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience of the takeaway. We’ll definitely be dining in next time!

Visited yesterday and enjoyed our food. Very tasty and the chicken cooked perfectly. Nice looking restaurant and pretty good prices. The service was ok but they didn't have the drinks we wanted, they asked for our order twice and they brought out a sweet sauce when I asked for a spicy one and didn't swap it.

Ordered a takeaway on Saturday night. The order arrived within the time that was advised. Excellent food, both the butter chicken and tikka masala were so tasty! Flavours they also catered for my partners nut allergy as they only use Cocunut and no other nuts are used in their dishes. Thank you - we will definitely be back :)

Four of us turned up last night ( Sunday ) around 8pm as a last minute decision. We had a friendly welcome and our order for drinks came quickly . We ordered popadoms to start which came promptly and then our main meals . We all enjoyed our food , there was not a scrap left on all four plates which indicated we all enjoyed our meal . Food was delicious , staff all very friendly and attentive and we felt very welcome . Thank you all for a great service and to the chef for our delicious food 🙏

Have been to this restaurant on many occasions to celebrate birthdays etc & we've always had a brilliant night. We were there yesterday for my mother's 96th birthday, the food was delicious & the staff were very attentive. Had one issue with the prawn coctail with the sauce being too bitter but they quickly changed it to another starter (free of charge) will definitely be going back for the next celebration. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Thyme Kitchen, located at Curborough Farm Countryside Centre in Lichfield, is a top spot for breakfast and brunch. The venue offers a peaceful setting to enjoy classic and inventive dishes made with local ingredients. Visitors praise the friendly staff who cater to their needs. Some suggest adding omelette options to the menu for lunchtime visitors. Despite roadworks in the area, patrons appreciate the overall experience at Thyme Kitchen.
What a gem of a restaurant, nothing short of amazing. The menu was diverse and unique, offering an impressive variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. This place delivers on all fronts. The atmosphere was equally lovely - warm, inviting and good for children too. The service was friendly and attentive, striking the right balance between being helpful and giving us the space to enjoy our meals. Add that to the ample choices on the menu, at good prices, it's a spot that truly has something for everyone. I'm shocked having seen a review that it was costly, considering the premises and location, staff and food costs, and the clearly talented chef, the quality they provide is extraordinary for the price. Great for parking, lovely shops at the centre, easily accessible and a good outdoor seating area for the summer. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their brunch game. We will be back, not only for brunch, but to try your Sunday lunches!

Really lovely! we visited as a group of 4 adults, We were impressed with the menu, everything ordered was delicious. I can’t stop thinking about the flavours. They have something special here, we will definitely return.

Beautiful venue, came in for breakfast, very relaxing atmosphere, staff were super helpful and we were given a lovely big table too which was helpful with the pushchair. Breakfast wasn’t to our taste sadly - a little too much flavour going on for an English brekkie for us! (£14) It was all cooked well though and the sourdough bread was delicious. We bought 4 slices of cake to take to the in-laws for afternoon tea. They didn’t have 2 options on the menu, so we went with 2 lemon drizzle, 1 carrot cake and chocolate marble cake at £4 a slice. They were all tasty.

Fantastic food, service & surroundings. Our first time here but we will definitely be returning! I had the Persian eggs & my partner had the breakfast naan from the brunch menu; the flavours within the food were truly outstanding. We thought the portions looked small when they arrived but they were deceiving! We were both contently full by the end. It’s so apparent the chefs here are extremely experienced and knowledgeable, can’t wait to return and try some more of the dishes on offer!

Amazing service and friendly staff. Coffee was so good and so was the food. Location and atmosphere really nice. Will definitely come back to try other dishes as i couldnt make up my mind on what i wanted. The cakes are also so good, i got a hazel nut cruffin to take home.

I was so looking forward to trying this place but was mightily disappointed by their lunch offering. My meal was very small for £11.50 and served with rocket that had seen better days. I asked for more bread to make it more filling and it was suggested that more bread would be chargeable - thankfully not so when escalated. Payment was requested at the time of placing the order, despite being a table service restaurant - makes you less likely to order further drinks or dessert etc. Just a fair bit of common sense missing - one glass for two diners with a bottle of water for example. I still believe this place could be good as it appears they have guest chef nights and a Sunday roast offering but our midweek lunch visit was really underwhelming so I won’t be going out of my way to return.

Plenty of parking, plenty of interesting shops. Great service from staff - visited on a very warm day in a big group but food came out quickly and at the same time. Would recommend a visit, some fantastic variety, and great for the little ones too.

Fish and chips takeaway
If you're in search of a delightful dining experience, look no further than The Valley Fish Bar & Pizzeria. This charming eatery stands out with its remarkably crispy batter that perfectly complements their fish, avoiding the common pitfalls of greasiness. While some may prefer their chips to be cooked a bit longer for added crispness, the overall quality is impressive. The menu is extensive and includes an enticing selection of pizzas—an 18" pie at just £12.50 offers fantastic value!
Best chip shop in Lichfield without a doubt. And the pizzas they are just amazing, all fresh produce and made how you want it. They are so friendly and welcoming. I cannot say enough how good the food is from these guys!

We are so pleased with the service and quality of food The Valley, fish bar and pizzeria provided for us. They organised a delivery for 18 people. Everyone one of our guests said how lovely the food was. As mentioned in a previous review, it is the first time I have left a review for a fish and chips shop too. Lovely friendly people providing excellent food, highly recommend.

Amazing friendly staff and delicious food. We tried the battered chips - I’m converted!!! The fish was so fresh, the batter crispy and light, pizzas were extremely tasty and thin crust. Best we’ve had, thank you - we will be back!

I ordered via Lichfield Eats and had a large cod and small chips. I really enjoyed it, it was delicious however my throat started to swell and my tongue. I'm at a loss as to what caused the allergic reaction as my only allergy is nuts and it doesn't state nuts on the menu. Because of this I won't return here.

This is the first time I have left a review for a fish and chip shop... The fish was fresh, and freshly cooked, with a very light batter - and the chips were beautifully cooked. Delicious! The shop itself was immaculate, clean, and the service was excellent.

Only had a pizza but it was gorgeous, and made fresh. The couple who run the place are lovely as well. Highly recommended

Food is really nice and reasonably priced and you can get an 18" pizza big enough to feed 2/3 people for only £8. Staff are friendly, place is really clean

Genuinely THE BEST fish I’ve had here! Every other chippys batter is soggy and not great but this one was so crispy and not greasy at all! Would’ve liked the chips to have been cooked more as they were on the pale side but that’s just personal preference I suppose. Husband had a pizza and it was also fantastic! Would get again for sure
