I really enjoyed my visit to Glady's Vintage Tea Room. The ambiance, staff, and decor were all fantastic. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I especially loved that the cakes were homemade in the upstairs kitchen. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed inside, but if you have a car, you can leave your dog there during your meal. They have a variety of options on their menu, including a tasty dambuster breakfast.
Nice find after Hartlepool Parkrun. Really friendly local tea room. Great Full English Breakfast, I just had a regular I definitely couldn't have managed the large. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back 👍🏻

Once you step through the door, it's like you've gone back in time in the best of ways: from the decor to the music. The owners are the nicest people who clearly love what they do. We felt very welcome. Even though you are supposed to reserve a high tea beforehand (because they get their ingredients in fresh!), we asked for one on the day and the staff went out of their way to prepare something for us. The food was gorgeous and we really could not have asked for a better spread.

Great quality breakfast at a reasonable price. A wide range of options for breakfast. Excellent customer service. Customers are made to feel very welcome. It's best to make a reservation.

Been coming here for a few years now and always had a good breakfast. However, latest owners have raised the bar for breakfast now with an excellent full English that comes fully loaded, hot and very tasty ingredients. Will return for another as soon as I am back in the area. Thanks Stuart for a great start to the day.

Beautiful themed tearoom with a wonderful decor and setting. Both the freshly made breakfast menu and the afternoon tea were delicious and kept us coming back for more. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful which made the entire experience even better. Thank you again for the lovely time, we’ll definitely be back! -The Belgians-

RSPB Saltholme is a delightful nature reserve that offers an enchanting escape into the wetlands of North East England. This family-friendly destination boasts expansive grounds, perfect for birdwatching enthusiasts and casual nature lovers alike. With over 200 hectares to explore, visitors can enjoy scenic walking and cycling paths while keeping an eye out for a stunning array of wildlife.
Driving past so popped in no time to walk round but cafe free with great views of the water, can hire binoculars. Gift shop looks great, friendly staff, lots of parking, play area too

We have been before so we new it was be a lovely place to visit.A nice place to relax and enjoy the quiet soubd of birdsong..A flask of tea was taken but we also hand a lovely sandwich and soup in the cafe. Oh binoculars are a must but can be hired if needed..
Barry J — Google review
Had a really fab day at Saltholme. Relaxing walk around to range of hides. Plenty of birds including white winged tern which was causing considerable excitement. Friendly and helpful volunteers, staff in cafe. Enjoyed walled garden too.
Liz C — Google review
Made the error of going on a scorching day. Too hot for anything small to be out and about. That being said the facilities which are provided are excellent. Nice hides (could do with a clean) , good firm walks. One annoyance is that the Lake walk rarely allows sight of the lake! 🤷‍♂️. Cafe is pleasant but priiiiiiicy. Lovely staff. Could do with another loo block. But definitely worth the visit.
Mark D — Google review
Extremely peaceful, even though it's pretty much in the middle of an industrial estate. The paths are very well maintained, everything is well signposted and modern. We saw ( though not used, as our children are past the age) an absolutely fabulous adventure playground, and there was a discovery trail with amazing bigger-than-life wooden sculptures ( the mad hatter's tea party for example). We saw loads of wildlife and had a lovely lunch in the cafe before we set off on our way again. We highly recommend visiting.
Dana T — Google review
Went here on a day trip from Whitby with high expectations. The is a large carpark and the visitors centre looked well set out. Toilets were clean. There was lots of water but unfortunately lots of the ponds are hidden by large embankments so you can't see the birds or the reeds block your view. We found lots of paths that meander away from the water. The site has several hides. I did get to see Spoonbills that was my only saving grace. Don't think we will be making the journey back to this site again.
Helen M — Google review
Visited on my birthday 1st August, blown away by the reserve, amazing hides, amazing views, great staff friendly and welcoming, all in all an excellent and rewarding day at an excellent reserve will definitely be back
Garry — Google review
Well worth a visit, plenty of birds of all kinds. Great for the kids as well as adults. Excellent toilets, play park area and sculptures enroute. The paths were a little wet on a February day but you can get round this whole place easily with pushchair /mobility scooter etc. The hides were very plush and in great spots for viewing (wrap up warm if it's cold!!) The usual RSPB quality look shop (with 2nd hand books too!! 😁) Only the cafe was a disappointment - we'd checked the times and rushed back needing a hot drink to find it had closed half an hour early. Not impressed. The cakes looked wonderful too!!

Fish & chips restaurant

Cafe
Surfside Fish Bar & Restaurant is a delightful seaside gem that promises an enjoyable dining experience. With its friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere, visitors are greeted with smiles and exceptional service. The menu features freshly prepared dishes, including their renowned fish and chips, which many rave about—especially the high tea option! While some guests have noted smaller portions on occasion, the overall quality remains impressive. Diners can enjoy beautiful views of the bay from outdoor seating when weather permits.
The food was served tasty, freshly prepared & hot. Friendly staff & a nicely presented cafe. There is a loyalty card for free drinks when you've purchased the required number of drinks. You can sit outside when the weather is suitable. There are great views looking out over the bay. There is adequate parking around the cafe.

Absolutely amazing. Food is delicious. Best in Seaton Carew. Only place I go to whilst I'm there.
Rose — Google review
Food delicious. I had cod which was freshly cooked, chips were cooked thoroughly and crisp. Service was ok. We were served by a young woman who barely smiled. There was a big guy serving too. I watched him take his cap off, run his fingers through his hair, put his cap back on and continue serving, handling food with his bare hands!! He also wiped his ready hands on his clothes. Not hygienic.
Barbara W — Google review
Beautiful place. Came with my family. Got seated straight away. Amazingly priced, very polite service, welcomes you with a smile ☺️ ( not one bad thing to say. ) Food was unreal, Highly recommend and it won't be the last time we visit ☺️
Mandy — Google review
Not exactly a great first visit I wanted this place to be much better than it was... The Fish, Tasty nice crispy batter. The Chips, Well I don't know what to say other than not good very scrappy like the leftovers from a bag of store-bought frozen chips. Tarter Sauce, not the best very bland. Scampi, Mediocre at best could pass for store-bought frozen Scampi. Other food was also bought which was mediocre. Drinks were a little pricey. Staff, all seemed preoccupied with their own thoughts, and we had to ask more than once for cutlery and mayonnaise. No photos as I left my phone in the vehicle Overall 3 out of 5
Keith B — Google review
Visited yet again for a treat lunch. As always the staff are fantastic, the bread and butter is just wonderful. The cakes no matter which we pick are delicious. I bring visiting friends for the fish and chip high tea, everyone who has had one loves them. Slightly taken aback by the small portions of the fish and chips this time, I don't know if it was a one off, but the portions we were given were what I would call a smaller appetite, but we paid full price. Hopefully just an oversight. Still will return because of the quality, and taste of their fish and chips, but will try take away for a better portion.
Gillian — Google review
This lovely restaurant is situated at the sea front it is fantastic. Really good quality food not often found. Very good customer service. The staff are quick to smile. Really recommend a visit good family fun .x
Ann A — Google review
This place does not deserve one star, I was in with my family this morning as I was walking back to my car the manager was shouting at a young girl, which I thought was horrendous, the poor girl was in tears. I have been served multiple times by this girl and she is always smiling and be the helpful when placing my orders now I have made a big decision to never come back again if this is how managers are going to treat there staff. This is not the place to be like I said this young girl has been nothing but supportive especially since my mother suffers badly with dementia and often gets confused she knew exactly to say and what to I hope she is okay I can’t take my mind off what I witnessed I have told everyone I know to stay well clear of this place!

During my recent visit to Mary Lambert Food & Beverage, I had the pleasure of indulging in a delightful full English breakfast. While I felt the mushrooms could have been better if fried instead of blanched, the hash browns truly stood out as exceptional. My companion, who typically isn't fond of sausages, was pleasantly surprised by the delicious flat skinless sausage meat. The prices were quite reasonable, with some great deals available on select items.
I went there today with my woman and a friend. We enjoyed the best full English. The only things was the mushroom should have been fried preferably rather than blanched but the hash browns were on another level. My Mrs also said she doesn't normally like sausages but the flat skinless sausage meat was amazing. Prices were reasonable and also some cheap deals on certain items. Point to note, they have won the best fish and chips for serval years since opening. Friendly staff. Clean and pleasant cafe, well decorated and modern. I haven't found a better cafe in Hartlepool yet and I would recommend you give this place a try.

Food is nice but portion sizes are tiny. I paid over £13 a standard cod and chips. I expected more than 10 chips.
Anth R — Google review
Incredibly expensive! The fish and chips are really nice however … the price! £16:99 fair fish and chips, tiny portion of chips and does not include bread and butter or choice of curry or peas. And then there’s the drink, £36 for myself and my wife and she got the small portion.
Lee M — Google review
Few to low chips, the owner, an old man, couldn't keep up with the system of servicecat the counter, and the online orders as well as the in-house sitting customer orders. We were all waiting fish n chips pick up for me 33mins wait!!! Less then 10 chips in the pack for little over 3.50 joke need cliseing down or buying out
Wallis M — Google review
Food was decent but extortionate pricing. Nearly £9 for a sausage, about 10 chips and a splash of curry sauce! Should have just gone to a local chippy!
Stephen B — Google review
I had to que at the bakery count, to then que again for fish and chips. My fish was cooked to order, it looked nice when it came out. When eating it I found that the fish had just been stretched out, so it was over cooked and really dried out and scrappy. My order for fish and chips a fish peas and curry came to £27.50! Not worth half of that!
Brian W — Google review
Absolutely the best fish and chips in Hartlepool and up there with the very best that the north east can offer. Staff are lovely too.

One of my favourite restaurants in the northeast! Excellent quality food and prices that reflect this. The Dancing Cup is a delightful spot that truly caters to its guests, as evidenced by a recent visit where the staff went above and beyond for a child craving chicken nuggets on a Sunday when only carvery was available. The restaurant has undergone changes since its days as Coffee Rappor Bar, now boasting an inviting atmosphere with spacious and stylish decor. Visitors have praised the cleanliness and comfort of the space, making it perfect for gatherings.
We recently held a graduation get together for my daughters Northern family. This place was fantastic from booking . Nothing was too much bother. The food was spot on and more than enough ( several people took doggie bags home ). The staff could not have been more helpful even putting a coffee machine on for the none drinkers. I would 100% book here again. It was also the first time in 25 years my son used a dustpan and brush 🤣🤣
Dee K — Google review
Called in for the first time today with my little one for his lunch. Just so happened to be a Sunday, and on Sunday they only do a carvery menu, however the staff overhead us talking and heard the little one say he would like chicken nuggets and chips, so he rustled that up just for us! Because it was Sunday, I didn't fancy a carvery either (although the carvery looked delicious), and to accommodate me the member of staff offered to make me a sandwich! (Fantastic service!). We will definitely be returning for something else to eat, the little one was overjoyed with his meal and ate every bit! The service was brilliant, including speed of service. The cafe is very cozy looking and feeling. Prices are so reasonable too. Can't wait to call again!
Claire — Google review
UPDATE: 29.01.23: I haven't been since the change in ownership, but I'm excited to visit! I visited in July 2022. I haven't been for many years, since it was Coffee Rappor Bar. The Dancing Cup is great, I think it's much better. The interior decor is really nice and it's a high quality finish. It's very spacious, airy and comfortable. It's very clean and tidy and there is a nice atmosphere. I was very surprised at the quality of the food compared with the pricing. We'd had a bad experience at another venue that was significantly more expensive. This, however, was fantastic in every way and the perfect example of how to run a food and drinks business. The chips and cheese butties were lovely and very reasonably priced. The iced latté's were also delicious, especially with toffee or hazelnut syrups. The crepes finished me off, I couldn't move afterwards. They were clearly freshly made in a pan and not simply a prepackaged, microwaved crepe. I had Biscoff and a banana over mine and they were amazing. The service was fantastic and very attentive and the food and drinks were amazing. At less than £10 per person this was fantastic value for money and a great experience. Thank you.

Lovely vegetarian breakfast. Second visit.. Shame still didn't have the oat milk we requested.. Food lovely and staff polite and efficient. . Place spotless. The toilet must be in the top ones of Hartlepool!!

A beautiful little gem on York Road that I've been visiting for a few years. I'm always pleased and impressed with the menu, staff and service. Warm and friendly every time. A wide variety of good, fresh food. Great coffee. They also have quite a good selection of alcohol, in particular gin. 5/5 I always have and likely always will recommend this place to anyone local or visiting.
Friedrich G — Google review
Can't believe the quality of the food the quality of the service for such a reasonable price. A little gem of a cafe in Hartlepool with a fantastic choice of menu. Will certainly be back again 😄
Ann R — Google review
Staff are absolutely friendly, smile on their faces as always. Food quality is above par, most or I will say majority of them are freshly made. Prices are very reasonable as seen. Parking just located behind the bar, 70c per hr. Enjoyed a cup of coffee and tea here with a breakfast wrap and quiche, the quiche tasted really fresh and creamy, chips are made to order. Highly recommended. Will come again for sure.

Bianco's Deli is a delightful spot that has quickly become a favorite for many visitors. Whether you're stopping by for a quick snack before the big game or enjoying your first drink out post-lockdown, the atmosphere is always vibrant and welcoming. The staff are incredibly friendly, often engaging in cheerful conversation and wishing patrons good luck on their adventures. The menu offers something for everyone, from cheesy chips to hearty breakfasts and delicious paninis filled with roasted vegetables and vegan cheese.
Lovely friendly staff with a welcoming smile . Food was lush hot beef panini with horseradish and a lovely cup of coffee
Graeme P — Google review
I ordered a special beef sandwich. It was very tasty but was meant to come with peppercorn sauce and horse radish. It had neither. By the time it came it was dry beef on a dry sandwich with hard cheese due to it cooling and not what I was expecting. I ordered the chicken curry chips. Again nice but not sure why it’s curry. It was more like a chicken stew than a curry. Really good gravy but didn’t have any curry flavour at all, maybe they gave me the wrong one. The salad had no dressing and no lettuce. Everything tasted good but wasn’t really what I ordered. I wouldn’t have minded any of that if it hadn’t been that I waited nearly two hours for it to be delivered. I did ring an hour and a half after the order was placed and staff were very polite and reassuring and said it was on route. I then waited just shy of another half an hour for it to get here. I’m 9 minutes from the restaurant. all in all foods nice but order wasn’t right. Not good enough for a nearly two hour wait for a salad and a sandwich.

If you're looking for a delightful treat, "Happy Daze" is the perfect stop! The generous portions are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, and they even have dog-friendly ice cream! The retro decor adds to the fun atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy with friends or family.
Went into happy daze on a whim with my partner, we both had a sundae and got a ice cream for our dog. The sundaes were delicious (really generous with toppings and sauce, they had dog ice cream and a wide variety of items on the menus, including hot chocolates, waffles and some themed treats like iron man ice cream. I wish I took a proper photo of the ice cream sundae before I started to eat it 🍦 The decor inside was also fun and tasteful as it had that retro vibe and the staff were really friendly. They even did me a Reecees sundae instead of a waffle. I couldn't recommend them any higher and will be going back in the future.

Stopped in during the Hartlepool Tall Ships Festival. As it was a busy day with rain off and on they only offered window service. And I could see kids enjoying all the unique options for ice cream treats. They also offer other options for beverages.

Quite limited in choice and flexibility as we'd made the mistake of buying a groupon voucher and they won't let you upgrade to a sundae if youve got a waffle. Not sure why you couldn't pay more and upgrade. What we had in the end was nice but way too sweet

Came here for a Saturday breakfast before the long drive home. Arrived around 11 and was informed of a 30min wait for which they kindly took our number and phoned us up when ready. We waited only 15 mins in the pub next door before we called back! The service, food, and experience were all top notch. The full english was served perfectly and the coffee was superbly made. The prices were good for the quality on offer. Everyone was very friendly and I'm so glad I was recommended to come here.

Food here is as delicious as it looks! The pancake breakfast is the best of both worlds, sweet and savoury. Highly recommend a visit. The staff are welcoming and friendly. We had a little wait as it’s a small cafe but completely worth it!

Stunning as always! Food was amazing, staff are all super friendly and helpful and its a cutel little cozy atmosphere. I had French toast and my friend had eggs on toast!

What a fabulous place to eat after Hartlepool parkrun. The food and the service were spot on. I had the full English breakfast and it was filling and tasty. Well worth waiting outside if a table is unavailable when you arrive.

Fantastic little place, very accommodating, food was 1st class. Loved the small things, like individualised teapots. Best of all it's dog friendly...
Adrian W — Google review
Called in today - first time after passing it many many times. A great understated gem in Park Road. Good menu, all fresh and superbly presented. Even got a sausage for the dog. Highly recommended.
Nick L — Google review
I'm not sure if we just got here on a bad day, to begin with there were no tables and we were told we could wait in a small waiting area at the back which we were happy to do. We were rather amazed at how busy it was so early and could only think that yes, this was indeed a special place, the reviews were amazing and we waited happily, looking forward to our breakfast. We ordered the Full English. I knew as soon as the plates came out we would be disappointed and so we were.. The food was tasteless, the mushrooms undercooked, not sure what they cooked the sausages and hash browns in but they left an oily taste in the mouth for hours afterwards. The toast had barely even looked at the toaster and apart from all that..the portion size was way to small for the price. Also if you are looking for a nice peaceful breakfast...forget it...the noise levels gave me a headache 5 mins after sitting down. We won't be back.

Nestled in a picturesque park, "The Place in the Park" is a charming café that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With its friendly staff and delightful menu, it’s no wonder that visitors keep coming back for more. The owner, Maria, adds a personal touch with her warm hospitality. While some dishes may lean towards the pricier side, patrons rave about the delicious soup and other offerings.
I have been frequenting this establishment for the past year. The food is great and the staff very friendly. Its a good experience all round. The owner Maria is a wonderful lady, so friendly and a pleasure to know. I will certainly be back again and again. Keep up the good work...

I paid 9 pound for 2 pieces of cake. One was a cherry Bakewell and the other a cornflake cake. The cherry Bakewell was was awful. There was nothing cherry about it. It was extremely soggy, there was zero favour and it seemed that it had been sat in the dish for 2 days. I had a tiny bite and we both felt sickly after it. I wanted to return it but my wife is too polite. I can't comment on the cornflake cake as my son ate that and he will eat anything. His reply on how it tastes was "it's ok". I'm not sure where they get the cake from but maybe it's time to find a new supplier. I never go in there and I noticed it was so expensive I couldn't believe it. How they turn a profit is beyond me. The place is dreary and depressing, a minimum 5 pound spend if you want a drink. You can't even use the facilities unless you buy something as the door is coded. I've noticed other reviews that the food is dreadful but I can only comment on the cake. Anyway, don't buy the tiny slice of cherry Bakewell for £3.90, save your money go somewhere that's lovely cakes and have it with a lovely cuppa at home where you won't feel like you've been robbed.

Though on the expensive side, my soup was really nice. My granddaughter had a picnic box and my only advice would be to use sliced cheese rather than grated. It just went everywhere! Staff were lovely too!
M M — Google review
Food is way too expensive. Was about to pay £6.95 for a corned beef and onion toastie and quickly cancelled that! You pay more for a latte here than you do at Costa. Line is always huge! You need a passcode to use the toilet which is super annoying when you have kids.

I’m absolutely disgusted in the way this unprofessional and embarrassment of a cafe treats there staff and customer service, the prices are absolutely sickening I would never ever return here in my life the way the food tastes and drinks are absolutely vile how they are still in business I will never ever know! I’m absolutely disgusted by the way they treat staff and customers and will not even allow my dog to sip the chemically acid water that they provide for dogs it’s that bad!!! Do not reccomend to absolutely anyone!!!!

This is a lovely little Cafe with a great atmosphere/lighting. I also love all the items available to buy displayed inside. However, the two cappuccino we bought were just to say warm ;-( we didn't make a fuss as the staff were really busy serving an ever growing queue of customers! Disappointing...

This place was lovely. It's a quiet little cafe in the corner of a beautiful park. The staff were lovely, and the food was nice. I didn't get any photos of the inside of the cafe, but I got a few of the park. Also if someone can tell me the name of the bird with the red on its face it would be greatly appreciated.

We came here on wednesday. I understand the cafe was busy, but service was very slow, coffee was not nice at all. Latte very very strong and watery (milk re boiled to much i guess) . Scones very poor and dry. We were so disappointed because it looks like such a nice place.

Lyla Belle's Cafe is a delightful spot that truly captures the essence of a cozy brunch experience. With its inviting interior, which emphasizes eco-friendliness, and an outdoor seating area, it’s perfect for both families and friends alike. The cafe features a charming toys corner to keep little ones entertained while you savor their diverse menu options.
I’ve been to Lyla Belle’s a few times and have always really enjoyed it so we decided to hold my sister’s baby shower here and it was absolutely fantastic. It was only a small gathering so we had a corner of the cafe to ourselves and were able to put up a few banners and decorations to make it personal. We ordered the afternoon tea and the food was so good, the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was great! We had a last minute dietary requirement request (completely my fault for not checking beforehand!) but the staff were nothing but helpful and quickly made us up a separate stand which we were so grateful for and meant we could all enjoy the day. Every detail was thought of, even down to the cute teddy bear art on my sister’s coffee! Just wanted to say thank you so much for making the day so special and we will definitely be back again!

Came here for brunch. It's very busy at that time, but six of us could still get sit on the big couch. They also have seating area outside. And toys corner which was really helpfull to make my little one busy. The interior design was lovely, expressed environmentally friendly. The menus were so various, so it's hard to decide. The prices were good to the portion. Taste was also delicious. Friendly staffs and excellent services.

I had my baby shower at Lyla belles this weekend and it was quite a large party to cater to. I went mad with decorations and staff were more than happy to help with anything I needed throughout my private party. It was a lovely day and I can’t recommend the venue enough. The afternoon tea was very nice and a lovely range of delicious drinks to try. Thanks again to you all

The Cook's Corner Cafe serves a delectable hamburger that is incredibly tasty. The burger is juicy and comes with stretchy cheese, a fried egg, and crispy bacon, all at an affordable price. This burger feels like a high-end option without the hefty price tag. The onions are perfectly cooked to be slightly sweet and tender rather than the usual mushy texture. In addition to their amazing food, the cafe also boasts friendly staff and reasonable prices for their homemade meals.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing prices. Good quality homemade meals at great prices. Whether to eat in or take out. You cannot go wrong with a visit. If your in town I highly recommend paying a visit for you breakfast or dinner, you won't be disappointed.

I cannot get over how delicious their hamburger was. Lovely and juicy with stretchy cheese and an egg and bacon at an amazing price. Like we have been manipulated to pay £10 if we want a delicious burger but here was so much less! This was like an expensive burger but with every part just cooked right, even fresh onion cooked to be slightly sweet and soft before the usual moosh of fried onion. High level taste but at affordable prices you want to spend on food.

FALSE ADVERTISING I walked past this place from the train station visiting Hartlepool, I seen a great big sign in the window saying 3 course for £5.50 so i popped in to give it a try, i thought it was too good to be true, But really it should say a snack and a drink you don`t get 3 course it is two course with a tea or coffee. I ordered the mince dinner, The food came on a very small plate that was the size of a child`s dinner with a spoon full of gravy on it, it was very dry bland and very basic it came absolutely steaming hot off the microwave. The cleanliness of the place needs addressing it had 4 staff operating an empty cafe two girls stood talking, while the was food all over the floor and tables i was in there a good 40 mins plus and still no one cleaned the mess. stop talking and clean the place it takes 30 seconds it is off putting to sit at dirty tables

Food, disgusting! Didn't eat it, wasn't risking it. Neither did my son or partner. Was disgusted with the kids meal served to him, he's not a dog! Service I've never experienced anyone working somewhere so miserable and rude. They look about 12 and act about 12. Giving us dirty looks and slamming the food on the table. Atmosphere so dim and dark and depressing ooooow just absolutely horrendous never again.
Toni A — Google review
Went to the galleries for the first time in 3 years, food was shocking. Jacket potatoe was tiny, sprinkle of cheese, teaspoon of coleslaw, and small bit of salad looked terrible. The lady brought our food and would not come near the table with it because of my guide dog. Spent 17 pound to be embarrassed and have disgusting food.
Julie G — Google review
Absolutely disgusting - if you were only paying £2/£3 for the items fair enough. Corned beef toastie had 3 small pieces of corned beef and 2 onions per slice. 10 chips on the side (for £1.99!) and I’ve got no idea what the coleslaw was but it was so watery and smelt off. £5 for a kids picnic box with 2 pieces of stale bread, tuna swimming in salad cream or watered down mayo - both of my under 5s turned their nose up, a packet of pom bears and a multipack mini animal snack biscuit. Absolutely disgusting. Toilet seats hanging off and no locks. Place needs closing down awful.
Danielle I — Google review
Myself, my mam and my sister popped in this past Monday to see what the food was like nowadays as we hadn’t visited in over 10 years. What we were served with was a massive disappointment and was pretty much inedible. I ordered the sandwich platter which was around £6 for 2 slices of stale dry bread which tasted and felt like it had been out of the packet for days, supermarket ham and some basic ready salted crisps on the side and the odd leaf. Absolutely shocking to charge over £2/3 for that when I could have got more and a nicer meal from a Tesco meal deal. My families orders were shocking too and were barely touched. It’s safe to say we won’t be visiting again. It’s extremely sad to see what has happened to this place and needs taking over by new chefs and management immediately. The place also looks like it hasn’t been touched in over 20 years which is nice if you’re going for the retro look but at least clean your cafe.
Dalya P — Google review
If I could give this a 0 I would. Terrible cheap food. Definitely not worth the prices they’re asking. It’s ok to go here if you don’t have taste buds. This place has not been renovated or updated in decades. It’s unclean and has no feel to it. Do I need to say anything else? AVOID.
Jessica S — Google review
Awful, first time we had been in for a while due to shut down. Ordered two breakfasts, food smelled, and tasted like it had been fried in old stale oil. Small milk jug was coated in yellow crud. Food spilled on floor and not cleaned up. £18.00 wasted Never again, used to be a great place to eat, never again, left food uneaten and we walked out. Place has gone right down the nick.
Tony W — Google review
Went there twice the first time one of our meals didn't even turn up the food was cold and unappetizing there was no flavour at all. The second time the bread bun wasn't buttered, the dumplings were greasy and the toastie was burnt. Do not recommend going here at all.

Friendly staff, or proprietors, and a central location, being on Victoria Road, immediately behind a well-used bus stop. The place could have been a bit cleaner, but it was late in the day and it may have been busy just before we arrived. Unfortunately the cafe closes at 4 pm, as we were politely reminded a couple of times. The coffee Americano was great. The special "high tea" was quite alright, but somehow felt out of place here. Being in the city, there is no outlook, so this cafe really depends on passing trade. Parking nearby behind the Grange centre is convenient.

So, a small group of us went for afternoon tea here. It's a lovely little coffee shop, with the most friendly and accommodating staff. The window seat allows you to watch people milling around, off on the bus and so on. We had afternoon tea, a delicious combination of cakes and sandwiches and either tea or coffee. There was one of our group with 'simple' tastes who the staff were happy to help! It's a great value, family owned place with good food and drink. What's not to like.

Wasn't impressed, it was quite expensive, the scones we had were a bought in pack from a supermarket and the cake I had was home made but a dry sponge and overly sloppy cream plus two coffees and cost over £12.00. I have had coffee and cake in much better places in town at half the price with much better home baking. I hope that that this was an off day but I won't be returning to find out.
Laird K — Google review
I really have to put this on to try and get the girls who work in this place to up their game massively. The single worst breakfast I have had in my life. The Bacon was like hardened plastic and flew off my wife's plate like a tiddlywink when she attempted to put her fork into it, the sausages were the lowest grade known to man, almost 'aero like' a thick crust on the outside, hollow on the inside. The hash brown was saturated in what I can describe as really old chip fat which had a similar taste as to the smell of diesel, same again when it came to the mushrooms. The eggs were extremely burnt, grey on the top with no signs of a yoke, they resembled something that had been used to clean up the floor before being put on the plate. I really hope this is read and improvements made, as a functioning cafe should not be allowed to serve food like this to the public. On the plus side, the toast was nice and both girls were very polite, which makes writing this review all the more difficult.

Mediocre Thai food, not much beef in beef massaman, more potatoes than beef, swimming in sauce. Ok it tasted ok but lacking in ingredients. 3 of us dined, ordered only main course plus rice each plus 3 pints lager. Total bill £75 bit excessive. Won't be back.

If you live or are visiting the North East, you must visit this fabulous restaurant. We visited in September 2023, staying on the Headland, I couldn't believe the interior! It's stunning, with a beautiful bar and seating overlooking the sea, awesome pink and gold sofas, in the eaves of this once church At the time we went, it's only open to dine in the evening, Thursday to Sunday, and so worth it, food is lovely, atmosphere, and staff fantastic I believe it's also open for breakfast lunch and takeaway. Please go and support this beautiful restaurant The best in Hartlepool. ❤️

Such a gem for the town. Reasonably priced and some of the friendliest service I've ever had. My partner asked for a London Fog tea, however seeing as it was a hot day the lady serving suggested an iced version which went down very well, especially the lemon foam. All in all, an excellent place

The staff could not have been more helpful if they tried. The lady was so friendly, chatting to our little ones. They were brilliant with them, and just before we left one of them gave my 2 year old, who was acting shy some choccy, which he loved. It's hard taking little ones places like this usually but we had such a lovely experience. Oh and the coffee was 🤤 (and the cake and cookie was lovely.) would deffo call in again, maybe with out the kids though as with us and the double buggy we took up all the room 🤣

Apart from the beautiful courtyard to dine in, there is a fabulous dining room with relaxed decor and music. We visited today to celebrate a friends 60th birthday having afternoon tea, the homemade selection of sandwiches with complimenting breads, caramelised onion and cheese quiche were scrumptious, home baked cheese and chive Scones with butter and fruit scones with jam and lashings of clotted cream were devine and although we were bursting by now the chocolate brownies, cherry bakewell, lemon drizzle, macaroons and fresh strawberries were irresistible. All of the above was washed down with unlimited artisan coffee and pots of tea served by two wonderful ladies who couldn't do enough for us all.. Can't wait to visit again. Costa Coffee is a beloved counter-service coffee chain that has become a go-to spot for many coffee enthusiasts. Known for its consistent quality, you can always expect delicious hot drinks and refreshing iced coolers, alongside an array of sweet snacks and sandwiches. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it feel like a cozy home away from home.
Went for coffee with my Mam and family pet this morning and not only was the coffee fantastic, the customer service and warmth from the staff was superb!

Always friendly staff. Food is what you'd expect of a chain, and sweet treats are better than savoury option IMHO. Knocked a spot off as there's no WiFi, and hasn't been for a while now. It makes it difficult to even connect to your Costa app to collect 'beans' or redeem offers.
Lucy — Google review
I'm really disheartened to write this, but here goes. My wife and I are now vastly reducing our costa patronage. We are going to restrict it to once a week now, 2 FW's a week, probably on a Sunday.lol. The obvious response could be, well sod off to Starbucks etc but for us that would never happen. Our reasons are cost increases and no Internet. We have 2 visits a day with 3 or 4 FW's each visit, between the two of us. That works out at about 6 to 8 flat whites each day of the week, or nearly 2900 a year paid for by us. We run sewing courses and some of our clients will bring in 2 extra FW for us because they know of our addiction.lol. Therefore, my wife and I can easily have up to, 70 FW a week between us or 3600 per annum between us. There is also the food. I would guess, and it is a pure guess, money wisethat we have possibly 6 Cinibuns, 4 muffins and maybe 2 to 4 toasties a week between us. As you can see, we probably spend at least £,12000 plus each year between us. We dont do anything else, no holidays, drinking, smoking, gambling, sports tickets, et al. We only drive around 3500 miles a year so no excessive fuel costs either. It is a pure choice but the reason for this post is that our resteraunt Has increased prices 3 times since the refurbishment in May of this year. A FW is now £3.95, up from £3.45 at the beginning of April, pre refurbishment. There has also been no Internet for about 1 year now. You ask a question and you just get fobbed off as a head office problem. I may be wrong but I would guess that the cost of redoing the Internet cables in the resteraunt would come out of the store budget, therefore no Internet, more store profit. Therefore, if we want to use our phones with our coffee we have to have a larger data package which costs money. No doubt I'll get pulled by the manager, next time we go in as some staff,( who are extremely and stupendously wonderful people, all of them, ) read these posts. I know its a first world problem but it is just so sad that the owners of Costa, purely think of customers as cash cows. Anyway, we will definatly, save some serious money. Money that, as a tital, we were not aware of spending.lol. Take care, Alan.

Been here many times and this review should be 5 stars, however today as I am writing this review, I have not just taken into consideration the product (Coffee), but have also taken in to consideration the messy workplace the staff are working in to give a true review reflection of my visit, as after all this is what reviews are supposed to do isn't it? The coffee from Costa is the same everywhere you go so you know what you are expecting when you get served. 5 stars for this. Today it was busy in this branch of Costa (Vision Retail Park, Hartlepool) and staff seemed very pushed for the duration I was there. This obviously led to corners being cut in terms of cleanliness on the floor and the coffee machines themselves. The coffee machines were dirty, the floors were very unhygienic behind the counter with brushes and other things laid around, along with it being very dirty for the customers to see. (Pictures attached to the review). Interestingly, the steamer for the milk was only wiped down after use for everyone, and no steam was blown through the pipe to expel any milk that may have gotten up the spout. My question would be what if someone had a dairy allergy and that spout was used after serving someone with normal milk and expelled some normal milk into their drink? Surely a clean short blast of steam for each use would sort this potential issue out? The staff were polite and accommodating and I have found this on every visit to this branch of Costa so kudos to the team there. Despite today’s visit being a kind of “scruffy” experience with Costa, I will be back as it is a handy place to conduct my meetings. Perhaps Costa can invest in more staff resourcing at known busy times so the customer experience can be heightened further.
Paul D — Google review
As far as Costa’s go, it’s alright. There is quite a low ceiling on Costa ratings - let’s face it, for a coffee shop, the coffee is pretty terrible - burning the coffee to disguise the cheapness. Cheap in quality only, certainly not in the price. I do find Costa, generally speaking, the worst out of the chains, which is saying something. What I will give Costa credit for though is their festive menu, which temporarily elevates it to the best of the chains, by far. The food / sweet treats are decent by chain standards though characteristically over-priced. In terms of this location specifically, it’s not bad, I’ve been to worse. It’s quite small but uses the space well. When I used to come here years ago, one thing I could always rely on was the welcoming, polite and friendly service, unfortunately though, none of those words can be used to describe my most recent experience with the current staff.
Ryan R — Google review
Really lovely homelike coffee shop. Serves wonderful hot and cold drinks! Great seating and lots of food and drink to choose from! 5 stars all around!
Benjy J — Google review
Utterly abysmal with a complete lack of service. Ordered at 0600 and almost 2 hours later I'm still left waiting. No option to contact this location directly as the phone number states "All of our phone lines have been permanently closed", so how am I meant to contact you? Zero update provided as to why the order is continually being pushed back, even though Google shows less traffic than usual for this location, so you're definitely not too busy.
Friedrich G — Google review
Not used Costa much as the quality has went downhill (IMO)… but meet a friend today here… after ordering I watching the lady make my coffee, she overfill my Flat white and it went over her worktop, she then uses a old green cloth to wiper around the cup. I said that’s a dirty cloth, she said it wasn’t. It was literally black with old coffee grinds etc. she then gave me the coffee. Staff was polite but clearly not trained enough. 2 stars as the place in pleasant, staff are friendly!

Starbucks, the iconic coffeehouse chain hailing from Seattle, is a beloved destination for coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Known for its signature roasts and light snacks, this cozy spot offers a welcoming atmosphere with ample seating and convenient drive-thru options. Patrons often rave about the delicious cheese and ham toasties that make for a perfect snack alongside their favorite brews. The ambiance is bright and inviting, making it an ideal place to relax or catch up on work with complimentary WiFi.
Such a cute and comfy coffee shop with amazing coffee! And the staff are super nice. Decided to get a cute new polar bear mug too! 5 stars!

My go to Starbucks! Nice friendly staff always acknowledged my dairy allergy and the place is clean when I visit.
Jayne — Google review
Visited here for the first time in a long time with my friend for a coffee date and catch up. Sadly, we won’t be going back anytime soon and it’s also put us off bothering to go to any of the other local stores too. As soon as you walk in it’s just so scruffy and dirty, the floors filthy and needs renewing. The seating is all hanging on by a thread most of the chairs are ripped and threadbare and if not there’s next to no cushioning left in them. And it was freezing! We ordered to sit in and still got our coffees given to us in cardboard take outs and there was one single sign about the parking my friend had to walk around the store to find it to figure out how to register the car as there’s a sign when you walk in saying something about a tablet or something which doesn’t exist …. I’d honestly rather drink coffee at macdonalds ! That’s saying something ! We will stick to Costa and Tim Hortons from now on, where it’s clean, warm, comfy and you at least get to drink out of actual ceramics and sit in seats that don’t look like they are about to cave in.
Betty T — Google review
Nice branch with the usual range of Starbucks food and drink. The only downside was the staff seemed a bit lack-lustre, not very smiley or animated. I didn't get the feeling they loved their jobs, but who knows, could have just caught them at a bad moment.
Mark C — Google review
Good coffee lots of seating options . Car park very small and you need to log your car in . Lots of signs to remind you to do this .
Ged C — Google review
I find Starbucks to be middle-of-the-road out of the chains - worse than Nero, better than Costa, except for Christmas when Costa easily becomes the best. I have MANY issues with Starbucks but it does have the best chai latte, probably best food too, out of the chains. Basically, the coffee shop is good at everything but coffee, especially avoiding taxes but I digress… The rare occasions I do come here, I just go to the drive-thru as sitting in would give me a headache. I can’t overstate my hatred for Starbucks interiors. Modern minimalism at its very worst. So clinical, dreary, uninspired, soulless - at least it’s fitting and consistent with the company itself. This location specifically is alright - been to better, been to worse. Staff are quite hit and miss, both in terms of friendliness and quality of the drinks. Fine for every now and again but I urge you to not make this your go-to. It’s more important than ever that we support the far-superior independent business that actually have passion, character, heart, soul and skill, not to mention actually pay their fair share, and treat their staff well instead of just playthings for the corporations.
Ryan R — Google review
The place itself is great. There is so much light. It's clean and the food is good. The staff, definitely not enjoying what they are doing. Not even a smile in 45 minutes.
C V — Google review
Visit this starbucks often for drive thru, and to sit in, and occasionally through just eat. Staff are friendly, drive thru is extremely quick and personally I think the cheese and ham toasties are absolutely delicious!! Store is clean and tidy, as are the toilet facilities. Plenty of parking spaces too.

We've passed this cafe so many times but this was our first visit and it certainly won't be our last.....The food was of good quality, it arrived freshly cooked and fairly quickly considering how busy it was, everything was of a decent standard with proper home made chips and very good butchers sausage....The only downside was the very weak tea but next time we'll ask them to leave the bag in so that we can control the strength ourselves......

Visitors appreciate the friendly service and the tasty, straightforward menu that features homemade cakes and daily specials like scones. The cafe operates independently from the museum, making it accessible to all who wish to enjoy its charm without entering the museum itself. Daisy & Beas Cafe is a delightful gem in Hartlepool that truly stands out for its inviting atmosphere and diverse menu options. Perfectly suited for families, it features a fantastic kids' menu that goes beyond the usual nuggets and chips, offering various choices to please even the pickiest eaters. The cafe also boasts a charming play area where little ones can have fun while parents relax.
Well, you don't get an awful lot of places like this. First time visiting today after recently moving to Hartlepool. What a lovely little cafe, great menu, lovely kids menu, usually all you get is nuggets and chips on a kids menu, but this one had plenty of different options. The little play area is absolutely lovely, my 20 month old absolutely loved his time here. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly welcoming staff. Will definitely be going again and recommending :)

Michael B — Google review
Just okay. Quite expensive and would expect the play area to be free if paying for food since it's not a soft play or anything, it's just an area with a few toys. Won't be rushing back.

Wow! What a gorgeous place.. been a couple of times with my daughter and enjoyed it so much we decided to have her 1st Birthday Party here and it was perfect. As she isn't yet walking it was the perfect size for her, her friends where aged upto 3 and they all had a great time. The party package is fab and includes everything that you would require-and nothing to clean up at the end!! Sara and her team are on top of everything and go out of their way to make sure all is perfect. Would definitely recommend, thanks again xx

We love coming here and have a fab time everytime we come. My little girl loves having a play with the huge selection of toys and it keeps her entertained. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere, always clean and very friendly. Great place to come for a nice selection of tasty food and a good coffee. I often come alone with her and end up chatting to other mums. They do lovely events as well.

Absolutely love this cafe, shame it's temporarily closed due to covid-19 restrictions. The staff are friendly, food is great and my toddler loves the playarea. It's a godsend for parents, you can watch your child play whilst you enjoy a cuppa. Will deffo be back again once you re-open.
