Historic Walking Areas
Piazza Ducale in Vigevano is a stunning Renaissance-era square known for its arcades, bars, restaurants, and shops. The town is famous for its high-quality handmade shoes and historical buildings like the Castello Sforzesco and the Cathedral of Saint Ambrose. Just a 30-minute train ride from Milan, it offers a hassle-free escape with rich cultural and historical heritage.
The best Square in the world, designed by Leonardo da Vinci, it is the living room of the city. A visit to the square is mandatory

A very pretty square in the heart of Vigevano! It is very calm and was designed by Leonardo da Vinci! Very historic too!
Giovanni B — Google review
Even when we visited Vigevano in one of late September afternoons the piazza was almost deserted. It seemd that people were still on holiday and most shops were closed. It had a very calm and peaceful vibes to the town. Had a quiet stroll around the Piazza and had snacks and coffee. We enjoyed the couple of hours we had there a lot.
Pramuditha M — Google review
A few years ago I read somewhere that this was one of the most beautiful squares in the world. The numerous photos by pros and tourists testify it. Being born in Piedmont, I used to visit this quaint town quite often, appreciating its medieval cobblestone alleys, to reach the piazza Ducale and enjoy an excellent ice cream. A lot has changed, nothing stays forever, but the square has maintained its grandeur. The historical shops have disappeared in favor of expensive eateries with rude and hasty service, aiming only at you spending $ on mediocre food and drinks. Head towards the hidden, narrow streets that surround it and you’ll find small pubs and food joints with courteous and amicable service and decent prices. By the way, DO visit the Sforza castle, it’s a true medieval gem with frescos, ancient and secret gardens and horse stables. It’ll satisfy your cravings for history and well kept ancient artifacts
Veronica B — Google review
It is an incredible city😍 because it is full of monuments and place to eat and sit having the Ducale square view. It is very recommended to come at least one time.

One of many beautiful bridges I have seen in my life, but definitely not overrated. Very stunning! It's also called bridge of sighs and has an really interesting history, which is worth a google. I'm not too sure if you can actually walk over it but you dmcould view it from afar as see in the pictures or take a ride in a gondola and float along the waterways.

Very strange place, it has a good potential as a touristic place but they didn't invest and prepare enough what they have. (1) missing smiles to visitors (2) include explanations for each picture (more than just the time when Leonardo did it) (3) include English as well (everything was only in Italian (4) video Exposition requires more bright or less illumination, it was impossible to watch anything. (5) it was no explanation of the constructions prototypes at all (6) maintenance in general in the castle was veeeeery poor... Missing restores of painted walls, everything was practically in nude bricks (what it was not the original shape of the castle) It's a pity because the place can be really a nice touristic place helping to increase the economy of the village.

"L'Oca Ciuca" is a charming restaurant conveniently located near the square. The service staff may come off as a bit rough, but overall, it's a pleasant experience. The menu offers local and seasonal dishes paired with excellent wines. Signature dishes like slow-cooked goose leg and goose charcuterie are highly recommended. Despite some language barriers, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

Great food, the service was nice and friendly however a bit slow. We had the goose cold meat platter as a starter and the saffron risotto with rabbit sausage for the main course. Both were absolutely delicious. The dessert was good but not memorable. Will gladly go back there.

Local, seasonal dishes elevated in style and paired with excellent wines. Competent and friendly staff, you can never go wrong coming here. There are some signature dishes like the slowcooked goose leg and goose charcuterie, typical of the region, that cannot be missed. My hubby had the "leg", this time I opted for a fritto misto - a mix of deep fried vegetables and meat cuts, with different batters, all where crisp and delicious. The selected cure meats were served with a crunchy gnocco fritto, and the vitello tonnato was as good as beautiful. Sweet end with peaches in sweet wine, and sorbet.

Terrible food just thrown on the plate with brown cheep wrapping paper underneath. Food was served just warm, and one person at our table got served the main meal when all four of us finished ours. When waiters were reminded about the missing plate of food, the passing ones just nodded in response. Ignorance from staff throughout the whole restaurant, including the owner. I very strongly do not recommend this eating place ( can't call it restaurant) and will ask a hotel staff to exclude it from recomended ones.

Had the most delicious meal here last night! Staff were extremely friendly despite my lack of Italian, and so helpful. -It's a nice place with many stores. -there is a food court, but it doesn't have a Halal restaurant. - There is a large parking area, and it’s usually not crowded.

This is a decent shopping Center. Lots of different stores, and some things for the kids to do…. Not sure who’s idea it was to have a tyre bath for kids to jump into, but hey ho. Topfloor is a little empty, but the poke bowl place was fresh. People come and wile away hours with coffee and air conditioning. Has a large supermarket where you can get everything and a Variant of everything, best place is UniEuro, which will comment on separately. Parking is plentiful, it’s never that busy, and it’s clean.

Il Ducale is a decent place to spend a couple hours during a hot summer weekend in the city when it's too hard to stay outside but unfortunately many of the shops inside struggle and often close leaving many parts of the mall empty. I strongly suggest the ice cream.

One of my favorite malls when I visit the area. It is located on three floors, has covered parking and quite a few restaurants. There is also a major grocery store within, so most of the necessities are there.

I advise the manager to ban music for customers so as not to disturb those who appreciate tranquility and nature. Furthermore, putting in some games for children under 6 would be appropriate (swing, slide). Once everything is fixed, increase the price; €50/60 per seat for up to 10 people would be honest. (Original) Gestore TOP. Bel posto. Fornito.

Nestled within the historic grounds of a castle, Leonardiana offers an immersive journey into the life and artistry of the legendary Leonardo da Vinci. This museum showcases high-quality reproductions of his masterpieces, allowing visitors to appreciate his genius in one convenient location. The modern and tech-savvy layout enhances the experience, even as it invites exploration beyond its walls.
It’s an extraordinary experience. I don’t understand people who don’t like it. The high definition reproductions of da Vinci’s paintings are amazing. It is not possible to see the originals of all of his works (agreed upon by “experts”) in one place. I probably will never travel to Krakow to see the portrait of Cecilia Gallerani. The curators did an outstanding job. Bravi!

Pretty good exhibition though a tad small by comparison. The museum marries both, classical and modern methods of presentation. Clever use of technology does elevate the visitor experience. Many of the works are historical reproductions. The codex and manuscripts on display were interesting. I did wish for the exhibition to be more detailed/ enriching and larger given how well endeared Leonardo Da Vinci and his work is today.

Restaurant
Trattoria La Darsena is a charming restaurant located in a tranquil area of Parco Ticino with a meticulously maintained garden. It's known for its excellent service and setting, making it a popular choice for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. The spacious venue offers ample seating, and visitors usually spend around 1.5-2.5 hours here. While the pizza may not meet some expectations, the desserts are highly recommended, and the first and second courses leave a positive impression.
**Review of La Darsena in Vigevano** Tucked away at the end of a charming tree-lined street, La Darsena in Vigevano is a true gem that I was fortunate to discover, especially during a quiet August when it was the only restaurant open in the area. The spacious venue offers ample seating, making it an ideal choice for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings. Parking is plentiful, a convenience not to be overlooked. The menu at La Darsena is impressively diverse, offering a delightful selection of meats, seafood, and pizzas that cater to every palate. Each dish is prepared with a focus on quality, making every bite a pleasure. The wine list, while not exhaustive, is carefully curated and pairs beautifully with the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience. Despite the high standard of food and service, the prices remain refreshingly affordable, making La Darsena not just a place for special occasions, but a regular go-to for anyone seeking a consistently excellent meal. Whether you're a local or just passing through Vigevano, I highly recommend making a stop at La Darsena—you won’t be disappointed.

Fine dining restaurant
Ristorante I Castagni, located in Vigevano, offers a serene setting with a garden and complimentary Wi-Fi. The guesthouse provides six individually furnished guestrooms with modern amenities. While the restaurant serves a daily complimentary continental breakfast, it also offers satisfying meals for lunch and dinner. However, some diners have expressed disappointment in the quality of the dishes served, questioning its Michelin star status.
I had the most wonderful experience at I Castagni with friends and family for a birthday celebration. Luisa is the most gracious host and makes you feel at home, and she was beyond kind to allow our table to stay past midnight for us to celebrate the true birthday in the comfort of the dining room. And the food - the shrimp and calamari antipasti & the squid ink ravioli - was unlike anything I've tasted. Truly delicate, flavorful, and thoughtful. One of one in my books for both service and dishes.

🌟 If someone had told me in the morning that I would end the day in a fairytale — I wouldn’t have believed it. After 10 hours on the road, I arrived in a small Italian town, booked a hotel, and drove through narrow streets to find it. Eventually, I reached the Castagni complex — and that’s when the magic began. I was warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind and friendly hostess. She showed me my room (absolutely beautiful!), walked me through the garden, showed the pool, the restaurant… We agreed I’d come for dinner in the evening. And then — the evening came. I walked into the restaurant… And I couldn’t believe what I saw: the waitress didn’t just explain the menu — she sang it. And the hostess introduced each course like a scene from a culinary theatre. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavor and imagination. I don’t know who the chef is — but he’s a genius. Every bite was stunning. Each wine matched the dish in perfect harmony. You can feel the soul they’ve put into everything. You’re not just eating. You’re experiencing. You’re awakening. Even if you’re alone — here, you never feel lonely. This place feels tuned to inner peace. You feel like someone is holding your hand, whispering: “You’re home.” And then came dessert. And then — a collection of Armagnac, starting from 1945… I chose the 1947. 45 euros — that’s not a price. That’s the taste of time. The energy of post-war Europe, captured in a crystal glass. It doesn’t burn — it unfolds. It speaks to you. And suddenly, you understand something deeper about yourself and life. 💫 If you’re ever nearby — don’t miss it. One evening here can truly change you. The money? Not an expense. It’s an investment in a moment you’ll carry with you forever. And if someone asks: — How much does peace of mind cost? You’ll know: — I found it in Castagni. And I’ll be back.

I have been three times, in the last 6/7 years, to this restaurant of my native town, and I really appreciate its refined, but never pretentious, cuisine. I chose a menu "all fish" this time, made of five courses, and everthing was excellent: I especially liked the delicious appetizer "fried shrimps and squids". The previous times I had chosen some typical menus of the Lomellina zone, composed mainly of goose or pork meat, with the same good results in taste; besides, consider that the quantity of food in the plate is enough for the reasonably glutton customer. Good job as always, Enrico!

Basilica
Catholic church
Nestled in a serene neighborhood of Pavia, the San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro is a remarkable church steeped in history and spirituality. Commissioned by King Liutprand during the early 8th century, this Lombard architectural gem serves as the final resting place for St. Augustine of Hippo, one of Christianity's most revered figures.
This is a beautiful cathilolic basilica, which has been well maintained- San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro (St Peter in the golden sky). The arc (tomb) of Saint Augustine lies inside through the main door decorated with medieval creatures and angels.

Resting place of my Patron Saint, St Augustine. You will find Augustinian Monks here. There is a little plaque that tells you the original spot where his remains were found, this can be found on the right hand side as you enter the church. Definitely look to visit this church to pray at the resting place of a Doctor of the Catholic Church.

At first glance, you may think that this is just one ordinary church. The name of the church, San Pietro in Ciel d'Oro (St. Peter in Golden Sky), refers to the mosaics of gold leaf behind the glass tesserae, decorating the ceiling of the apse. However, the mosaics seem not very well maintained and give the impression that the splendour of this church had faded throughout the centuries. Nonetheless, the richness of this church is not in the appearance but the treasures within. You can find the tombs of St. Augustine of Hippo and a lesser known philosopher, Boethius, here. There should not be many tourists around as well, which will give you the quiet space and time to yourself.
Mo L — Google review
Nice facade (Lombard). Located in a quiet neighborhood next to a pleasant little park/piazza. Inside there is a beautiful 14th century funeral monument to St Augustine. Yes, the "Doctor of the Church" and "City of God" St Augustine. Legend has it that his bones are located under the monument (the usual skepticism is warranted with these sorts of claims). Still, the faithful make pilgrimage to this Church so it was, given it's location, rather crowded. In and out in 25 minutes. Free.

Great sanctuary and the Tomb of Augustine is spectacular. QR code information is great.

This is the church which hold the relics of st. Augustine. The hermit Augustinians and the Augustinian canons lived together in this location. But today the hermits (Augustinian friars) live here and Run this august pilgrimage site. Though an old church which was devastated by more than one earthquakes, it still retains its frescos and identity. The tomb of Augustine at the main alter is a sight to behold and a place to pray. Happy visit.

This is one of the best small museums I’ve ever been to. Fabulous if you have any interest in fashion. It shows the history of shoes over time starting with a shoe from the 1400s, and focuses on the shoemaking industry in Vigevano. See shoes worn by the pope, Marilyn Monroe, and Mussolini. Most signs are in Italian and English. Allot about 30 mins for the whole exhibit if you are taking your time

We arrived and ordered an identical €20 carafe, expecting to receive the same treatment... but the appetizers never arrived. We asked for an explanation, and the answer was: "The plate was for four." Now, let's clarify: the appetizers had been served before we arrived, and we didn't have to show up, so it's not a question of "number of people," but of transparency. No one informed us of this supposed rule, and honestly, it would have been correct to do so. Only after I insisted were we brought appetizers... different from those our friends had received. Add to this the total lack of attention: no napkins, no courtesy, no final question like "Did you like it?" It's not about the food: it's about FAIRNESS, RESPECT, and PROFESSIONALISM. When a customer spends the same amount, they should receive the same treatment. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here. Very unfortunate.

Compliments to the service, especially to Giorgio, a guy who despite not having professionalism in the job gets busy and asserts himself despite his very young age, keep it up and you will surely be rewarded, well done to the owner for believing in young people by trusting them! Well done and well done Giorgio! (Translated by Google) Pizza for "Saturday night" at home. Particular note of merit for the fact that I asked for a pizza, it arrived after 50 minutes of delay and, what's more, wrong but the owner brought me the right one in 10 minutes and apologised. This for me is a fine example of professionalism and humanity which, as far as I'm concerned, is worth more than any pizza! Great pizza, I'll get it again!

Nestled in the heart of Vigevano, Cappuccetto Rosso Bistrot is a charming eatery that perfectly blends quality dining with a cozy atmosphere. Located just steps away from the stunning Gothic church of S. Pietro Martire and near the Renaissance Castello Sforzesco, this delightful spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating options.

Cappuccetto Rosso is a lovely bistrot in the city centre of Vigevano, across the road from the gotic church of S. Pietro Martire, next to one entrance of the Renaissance Castello Sforzesco, and a short stroll away from Piazza Ducale. Many will recommend them for the tasty food or the breakfast or the frozen yogurth: while all of it is certainly true, I comment them for their excellent taste in the matter of local wines (from the Oltrepo region) and the tasty accompaniments. If you want to treat yourself to excellent local wines in the city centre of Vigevano with an outstanding service then do yourself a favour and pay a visit to Cappuccetto Rosso. You'll thank me later😁.

The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. My child’s ice cream was falling, so I grabbed a small cone that was right there. One of the girls said to me in a very rude tone, “You have to ask first!”. I told her that if I could just explain it to me nicely, I would have paid without a problem. Then another girl with curly hair told me, again in a rude way, to go to the cashier and pay 50 cents. I have never felt so unwelcome at a place I used to like. They completely ruined my coffee break with their attitude. I had a really disappointing experience at this place. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and completely unwelcoming. When my baby's ice cream started melting, I quickly grabbed a plastic cup from the counter to help — instead of understanding, the employee snapped at me and demanded payment, claiming it was a “high cost for the owner.” Another employee insisted I pay €0.50, even though I offered immediately. I had also paid for water, which they forgot, and when I asked for it as I was leaving, it was dropped on the table without a word. No apology, no kindness, not even a smile. I tried speaking Italian to be respectful, but they made no effort to communicate or help me as a tourist. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Torre del Bramante

Historical landmark
Nestled in the heart of Vigevano, the Torre del Bramante stands as a stunning testament to Renaissance architecture. This iconic tower, completed by the renowned architect Donato Bramante in the early 16th century, reaches an impressive height of around 30 meters. Its elegant design and historical significance make it a captivating sight for visitors exploring Piazza Ducale and its surrounding attractions, including the majestic Castello Sforzesco and the beautiful Vigevano Cathedral.

A historic tower which offers wonderful views of Vigevano! You can see all the way to Milan on clear days! Climb up can be hard but it’s worth it.
Giovanni B — Google review
(Translated by Google) A Renaissance masterpiece: The Bramante Tower, 55.72 meters high and made up of 7 floors plus the dome, represents one of the most iconic symbols of Vigevano. Built at the end of the 15th century at the behest of Duke Ludovico il Moro, it stands in place of a pre-existing tower and boasts Renaissance architecture that recalls the projects of the famous Donato Bramante. Climb to discover: The first 4 floors of the tower are open to the public. Through an internal staircase of approximately 100 steps, you reach a small protruding terrace, surrounded by Ghibelline battlements, which offers a breathtaking view of the Piazza Ducale below, the historic center of the city and, on clear days, up to the Ticino river and beyond. A view not to be missed: Climbing the Bramante Tower is an unmissable experience for anyone visiting Vigevano. The panoramic view that opens from its terraces is a real enchantment, allowing you to admire the beauty of the city from a unique and evocative perspective. An incursion into history: The tower, in addition to its landscape value, also has important historical importance. Its construction, commissioned by Ludovico il Moro, reflects the period of great splendor experienced by the city under the dominion of the Sforza and testifies to the high artistic and architectural level achieved in that period. Entrance price €3.50, discounted if you have a museum or FAI card. Paying by card requires an exorbitant commission for the ticket price. Maintenance and care of the assets not exactly taken care of.

(Translated by Google) Too many things go wrong with the visit to the Bramante Tower. The first thing, which is an understatement to define as incomprehensible, I experienced when paying for the ticket, 3.50 if paid in cash which becomes 5 by opting for electronic payment! When asked why this tax was about 40% higher, I was told that it was a choice made by the Lombardy Region and something to do with PagoPa (?) Once the visit began, after climbing the first flight of stairs I found myself in a room without any indication of its use at the time, the same thing for another room just above, on the other hand there was no shortage of graffiti and murals of dubious taste! You then reach a last room which leads to the first terrace below the clock from which you can enjoy a discreet view. Having abandoned this terrace, I am preparing to go up to the upper ones, as indicated in the graphic on the access panel to the tower, but I discover that the staircase leading up is closed and full of pigeon guano!!! Going down to conclude the short and not very satisfying visit I notice that where the rope of the handrail of the last ramp joins to a sort of ring it is almost cut, holding only a few strands of the aforementioned rope, as the ramp is steep and to go up you have to hang on to the handrail, photograph the damage and report what you observed to an employee who tells me that she will have measures taken... What happened and seen, I consider it to be damage to a Tower which should certainly be re-evaluated.

The reason behind the 5-star rating for Palazzo Roncalli is its remarkable architectural renewal from the 19th century. The splendid hall, which reflects the design of that era, adds to its charm, making it a rare gem in Vigevano. However, there is room for improvement regarding the restoration of both the facade and courtyard. Notably, this historical place also serves as a venue for civil wedding ceremonies.

Located a few steps from the famous Piazza Ducale, the palace stands out for its architectural charm and connection with the events of the city. Today it houses offices and cultural spaces, but is above all known for its harmonious presence in the urban context. Although it is not always open to the public, it is a point of interest for those who like to discover the traces of a layered city history. Villa Cascina Sforzesca is a remarkable historical site that showcases the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, who designed this ideal farmhouse. Originally built as a hunting estate by Ludovico il Moro in 1486, it served as a model farm where Da Vinci conducted significant agricultural studies. The stunning Quattrocento architecture and the picturesque wash house along the street are truly captivating.
Absolutely amazing place, where Ludovico il Moro had a model farm. Even the Gauls were impressed and carted cheeses away back to France during occupation. Beautiful Quattrocento architecture. It is devastating to see that this magnificent historic place is abandoned and is slowly decaying. What a shame!

It seems that Leonardo da Vinci also participated in his project (he certainly stayed there, helping to develop studies on the local "marcite" (a drainage and irrigation system for the fields...). It was used precisely in those years for the introduction of silkworm breeding in Italy. A small village developed around it, of which historic houses and an ancient washhouse still remain. Under the Savoys and in the possession of the Saporiti family, it even became the seat of a marquisate. It cannot be visited and unfortunately today it is in a state of abandonment, in very deteriorated conditions. Italian restaurant
Ludovico Il Moro, the Duke of Milan in the late 15th century, is often associated with a delightful historical dessert that has become a staple of Italian Christmas traditions. Legend has it that during his reign, a distracted cook named Toni accidentally burned the cake meant for the Duke's guests. In a moment of culinary creativity and urgency, he whipped up what we now know as Panettone using leftover ingredients like flour, butter, eggs, candied peel, and raisins.

(Translated by Google) What can I say, I don't want to sound too corny, but I'll tell you my experience as I lived it. The restaurant recently reopened after a 3-week renovation, which made it even more welcoming, but the lunch menu was also affected given that the quality of the food and the plating are typical of Sunday lunch! Today for example: meat cannelloni. amberjack with baked potatoes, all delicious, and if you add an appetizer offered. Furthermore, for the price of €14 an excellent sparkling white wine and coffee to finish, it seems a crime not to take advantage of it. An experience to repeat for sure! 😉

(Translated by Google) If you are looking for a good giropizza in Vigevano, "Mica Male" is certainly an excellent choice. The place is welcoming, with an informal atmosphere and perfect for an evening with friends or family. The service is quick and courteous, with the staff always available and attentive to customer needs. The variety of pizzas offered in the giropizza is wide, ranging from the most classic flavors to more particular and tasty combinations. The different doughs are well worked, light and digestible, with good cooking. Some fillings could be more abundant, but overall the quality of the ingredients is good. A plus point is certainly the quality-price ratio: the giropizza is plentiful and the cost is honest. Furthermore, the possibility of tasting many different flavors makes the experience pleasant and never monotonous. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is that, on busier evenings, the service can be a little slow and some pizzas arrive with slightly long waiting times. However, overall, the "Mica Male" is an excellent choice for those who want to enjoy a good giropizza without spending too much. 🔹 Pros: ✅ Good variety of pizzas ✅ Light and digestible doughs ✅ Excellent value for money ✅ Friendly and helpful staff 🔸 Cons: ❌ Slightly long waiting times on crowded evenings ❌ Some fillings could be more generous (Original) Se cercate un buon giropizza a Vigevano, il "Mica Male" è sicuramente un'ottima scelta.

Nestled in the heart of Vigevano, the Sanseverino Palace stands as a magnificent testament to the city's rich historical and architectural heritage. This stunning building, which played a significant role in political events from the late 15th to mid-19th century, is located at the western edge of the historic center along Corso della Repubblica. Visitors can admire its beautifully restored interiors where remnants of exquisite frescoes still grace its walls.
(Translated by Google) Of great historical and architectural importance, the palace embodies part of the history and political events of Vigevano between the end of the 15th and the mid-19th century. Located at the western end of the historic center, along the line of terraces, it is now inserted in the building curtain of Corso della Repubblica onto which the current entrance opens. Square in shape, today it has been profoundly modified in its external facades, while it retains original aspects in the courtyard characterized by the portico on the north side and the aerial loggia supported by granite corbels on the other sides. Originally there were two entrances, one towards the countryside to the west and another towards the city to the east, while the place of the current entrance was occupied by a staircase. A further passage on the north side led to the garden. Built between 1480 and 1490 as the home of Galeazzo Sanseverino, son-in-law of Ludovico il Moro and his general captain, in 1496 it was transformed by Ludovico himself into a fortress with the construction of a rectangular wall with four round towers and a moat that surrounds and it contains a palace and a garden. The palace is therefore called "new fortress" as opposed to the existing fortress built by Luchino Visconti, which is therefore called "old fortress". At the beginning of 1500, under the marquisate of Giangiacomo Trivulzio, the accesses were strengthened with the construction of two ravelins and in 1555, shortly before his death, Duke Francesco II Sforza had the portico and the part above built and decorated.

The worst food we have eaten in Italy and we didn't eat it, we tasted it and it was so bad. Before I ordered I even said that this was our last evening in Italy and please don't disappoint us but it was very disappointing. And we paid €50 for this experience 😕 they didn't offer anything!

We ordered a saffron and sausage risotto and a veal with tuna sauce with a side of potatoes: both dishes turned out to be tasty and of good quality. Lunch menu at 13 euros, excellent value for money. Overall, a more than valid choice for a lunch break. (Original) Pausa pranzo per lavoro. Cucina casereccia e ben eseguita. (Translated by Google) It's not that we expected fresh fish and unforgettable dishes: we are still talking about an anonymous provincial restaurant/pizzeria. In fact, one could ignore the tuna fillet - clearly from the "frozen food section" of the supermarket, overcooked, and accompanied by hospital-style boiled vegetables. The spaghetti baked in foil, whose seasoning had come from who knows what jar of ready-made sauces (always from the supermarket, of course), could be overlooked even less. What was truly unspeakable, however, was the starter: more than "assorted fish", assorted microwave, I would say. (I attach photo) €15 FOR A DISH COMPOSED OF LEFTOVERS, INCLUDING A PAINFUL SPRING ROLL AND TWO SOFT VEGETABLE FRITTERS... BUT SHAME ON YOU! Never again. (Allego foto) 15€ PER UN PIATTO COMPOSTO COI RIMASUGLI, TRA CUI UN PENOSO INVOLTINO PRIMAVERA E DUE FRITTELLE DI VERDURE MOLLICCE… MA VERGOGNATEVI! A mai più. 🤡

(Translated by Google) Excellent restaurant-pizzeria. Renovated in recent years, clean and well-decorated. The fish cooked here is delicious and very fresh. A wide selection of truly generous and special dishes. It may not be cheap, but the quality and deliciousness of the food make up for the bill. The owner is friendly and the waiters are courteous and fast. Although many similar restaurants in the area have closed, the Tre Re restaurant is not affected by the crisis and always has many customers, even during the week. It is made up of several rooms (one larger, the others more intimate) with a minimalist and modern shape and furnishings. In addition to pizzas, it offers both fish and meat dishes. We were not enthusiastic about it, we found a bit of confusion in the service and in the execution of the dishes (for example the grilled fish was a little poor and at the same time both a little raw and a little burnt, the appetizer of meatballs was better instead...) but it can happen, those who work sometimes make mistakes... Friendly staff, worth trying again for a second chance....

(Translated by Google) For lovers of the pure taste of sushi and sashimi and traditional dishes of oriental cuisine. Different from the usual commercial proposals without consistency. - The place is simple and clean. - The menu has a good variety of traditional proposals with some specialties to try (e.g. uramaki with red rice). Well-executed cuts of fish, with the right thickness. Portion size of real sushi/sashimi. - The service is not immediate, but quite fast and allows you to taste each dish and gives the idea that everything is freshly prepared. - The all-you-can-eat formula has a slightly higher cost than the average restaurant, more than justified by the quality/price ratio. The owners are kind and honest. For me, the best Japanese restaurant I've tried in the area in terms of quality of ingredients, cut of fish and authenticity of products.

Clean, quiet and welcoming place. Very friendly staff. The menu is not very well stocked, it presents dishes that essentially everyone eats, to order you have to tell the name of the dish directly to the waiter, so you have much more dialogue with the staff. Alternatively, they offered us various dishes even outside the menu. They also treated us well at the checkout. Advise! Consiglio!

Lievito Madre is a simple and central pizzeria located near Piazza Ducale, making it perfect for a casual meal. The specialty here is the pan pizza, which comes in a modular form allowing for various ingredients to be added to a slice of margherita. Options include taleggio cheese, caramelized onions, provola di Agerola, porcini mushrooms, cold cuts, and more.
It was very good and delicious. It had very good pizza and had a lot of options for drinks. I would recommend and I’m gonna come back.

The food didn't taste good, it was far too little for the price. The meat tasted like cat food and then we went somewhere else to eat because it wasn't enough. The only positive thing was my iced tea and the music.

(Translated by Google) Just finished a guided tour of Vigevano Castle, looking for a place where I wouldn't be too ripped off. I found it at the beginning of Via XX Settembre, just to the right of the cathedral facade. The place is small, but well-air-conditioned, allowing for excellent service from the extremely courteous and helpful staff. Wide selection of beers and excellent pizza slices; if in doubt, you can always ask the staff. Three slices (Margherita, ham and provolone, black salami with caramelized onions and provolone), two Sprites, and half a Menabrea lager, all for €39. All in all, not too bad, given the truly remarkable quality of the ingredients. Last but not least, the bathroom is spotless. Worth keeping in mind for any future visits to Vigevano.

(Translated by Google) I discovered Lievito Madre by pure chance, and also in a period during which there was a great need to come across a reality of this kind: you eat well, you feel good, all this thanks to Peppe and Fabio, father and son who run a place that really deserves it. They are originally from Campania, the type of pizza they offer is the tall one, cooked in a pan - perhaps not exactly the one you associate with Naples but trust me, pizza exists in infinite forms and what matters in the end is that it is good. The one you find at Lievito Madre is indeed good: long-leavened dough and extremely digestible, with the possibility of composing your own pizza starting from a white base and selecting the various toppings from a rather well-stocked list, or letting yourself be guided through a series of tested combinations on offer. This format is particularly suitable for an aperitif evening, thanks to the possibility of tasting local craft beers and, another valuable note, also traditional Neapolitan desserts in collaboration with Poppella, one of the most renowned pastry shops in the south that has become particularly well-known for the production of its Fiocco di Neve. At Lievito Madre you will find it as you would eat it in your homeland, the same goes for pastiera and babà that simply taste of Naples in a way that is really difficult to find in the north. The theme nights are very interesting, such as the one dedicated to zuppa forte or stuffed mozzarella, or even the classic sausage and broccoli combination, a tribute to many traditional recipes and ingredients from Campania that really make you have fun. The prices are honest, often a fixed menu for the evenings and commensurate with the quantity of ingredients for the slices. A beautiful reality of the Vigevano area, I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a pleasant evening in company!

(Translated by Google) A simple place, with a couple of tables outside and 6-7 inside, located to the right of the cathedral. The owner, a true Neapolitan, is very friendly and explains how it works right away. Basically, you start with a nice slice of Margherita pizza, where you can add whatever toppings you want, paying for each individual ingredient. "Special" pizzas are also available with a series of pre-defined ingredients. We ordered two slices with caramelized onions and porcini mushrooms. The portion is generous, the pizza is thick and well-cooked, and it was extremely easy to digest (I didn't even realize I was eating a pizza). We paired it with two excellent Belgian beers (the draft was acting up, so we opted for bottled beer), a single-serving pastiera, a super-delicious babà (said by someone who doesn't like babà, but this one was soft, fragrant, and didn't smell of alcohol), and two coffees, all for €44. Highly recommended. Molto consigliato.
