The Bursa Grand Mosque, also known as the Ulu Mosque, is a magnificent and ornate structure built in 1399 by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid. This Seljuk-style mosque features 20 domes and two towering minarets, making it a dominant and enduring symbol of Bursa.
The Grand Mosque in Bursa is a truly remarkable place – majestic, beautiful, and filled with a sense of history and spiritual peace. We visited early in the morning, when everything was still quiet and the mosque was gently alive with people in prayer. The atmosphere was deeply moving – a moment of calm and reflection that’s well worth experiencing. When visiting, don’t miss the chance to wander through the side streets around the mosque. It’s there that you’ll truly feel the heart of Bursa, surrounded by kind, welcoming locals and the charm of everyday life. A visit that leaves a lasting impression.

Impressive old historical mosque surrounded by businesses and recreation area. The grounds are always busy with worshippers and tourists as well. I did not see the inside but from what I gather it's also very impressive.

🕌 A must-see place in Bursa! Ulu Cami (Grand Mosque) is one of the finest examples of early Ottoman architecture. The atmosphere inside is peaceful, and the historical details are truly impressive. A perfect spot to take photos and feel the spirit of history.

The Ulu Cami Mosque is an absolute must-see! If you visit Bursa, this magnificent mosque should definitely be on your list. It was commissioned by Sultan Bayezid I after his victory at the Battle of Nicopolis in 1396 and completed around 1399. The mosque was designed by the famous architect Ali Neccar, and it stands as one of the finest examples of early Ottoman architecture. Built in the Seljuk multi-dome style, it features 20 domes supported by massive pillars, a design that symbolically reflects the Sultan’s vow to build twenty mosques, which he instead fulfilled by constructing one grand mosque with twenty domes. As its name suggests, the “Great Mosque” is truly majestic, richly decorated with intricate calligraphy, geometric motifs, and a central fountain used for ablution. Ulu Cami marks an important transition between the Seljuk and classical Ottoman styles, blending simplicity, symmetry, and spiritual harmony.

The grand mosque of Bursa is beautiful, it’s old, it’s reminiscent of old Islamic architecture, its calligraphy is one to see, and the cover of the Holy Kaaba in Mecca is just icing on an already very beautified cake

Koza Han, also known as Cocoon Han, is a historic silk market with stunning Ottoman-era architecture and a wide range of retailers. This multilevel han was built at the end of the 15th century by architect Abdul Ula Bin Pulad Shah under the orders of Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II. The han served as an inn for merchants and consists of two courtyards, barns, warehouses, and 95 rooms.
Beautiful building. Courtyard offered a serene place for a cup of tea. Bazaar style shopping to be had around the outside of building. Inside had lil shops with silk scarves and delicates. Fresh fruits and veggies galore a lil further down. Enjoyed this explorer day alot!
Hana S — Google review
Visiting friends in Bursa for the Adha holiday, I was invited, among other places, to experience the special atmosphere of this charming place, the Koza Han, where people flock from various places in Turkey and around the city. It’s a huge courtyard where cafés and other shops abound, each offering their unique coffee flavor, sweets or food. We settled in one corner overlooking the yard, and waited patiently for what proved to be the best Turkish coffee I’ve tasted to date: Gözde kahve (favorite coffee). What makes it unique is the way it’s prepared slowly over coal, the way one would barbecue. The server brought the trays carrying the empty cups (each of a different color), as well as water and loukoum, a local tradition, which I find endearing. Later, when the coffee was ready, he brought each separately in a copper coffee pot, made differently to meet each of our tastes (sweet, black, half sugar). Just sitting there and observing the crowd around gives one a sense of serenity and calm, something we needed at the end of a very busy and tiring day. People sitting and chatting, others mulling around, the smell of coffee brewing hanging in the air, it’s all a pleasure one has to experience. I would definitely recommend for everyone who gets the chance to enjoy 😊 this treat.

It might be a historical place. But it is occupied by cafes. And everyone smokes here. You can feel vibe of smoking heaven. If there are not many cafes here like now, it would be much beautiful and great place than now.
Mothusi — Google review
Beautiful place with shops specialized in different things but mostly silk. Ambient is nice. There is very small masjid in the middle from 2hich you can take more panoramic pics and videos fir the place. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because only being small but there several other Han beside it so you can walk for longer time and see other shops but most importantly enjoy the sepcial vibe there.

Koza Han is a beautiful historical place in the heart of Bursa. The atmosphere is peaceful, full of history, and surrounded by lovely shops and cafés. You can enjoy Turkish tea under the trees and feel the spirit of the old Silk Road.

A very cute inn with a tiny mosque in the middle, inside there are shops selling mostly textile products, and there are also small cafes where you can drink tea and coffee.

A very much nice place. Entrance is only 2 liras, you can use the bus card to go in. The place is nice and clean and the music playing all the time was very nice too. Walking inside was organised as well, you need to follow the foot signs on the ground to walk through it. The only problem was that all instructions were in Turkish language only.

The Osman Gazi Türbesi is an Ottoman tomb located on a hilltop in Bursa, Turkey. The building has been reconstructed from a Byzantine structure and includes a terrace with cafes that offer stunning views of the surrounding area. While some visitors find the tomb to be overly decorated and not aligned with Islamic teachings, it remains an important historical site for many people. The tomb itself is elevated above floor level, which goes against traditional Islamic burial practices.
Visiting the Osman Gazi Tomb was a truly moving experience. As the founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi holds a significant place in Turkish history. The tomb itself is beautifully maintained and reflects the grandeur of the Ottoman era. The serene atmosphere allows for quiet reflection on the life and legacy of this important figure. It's a must-visit for anyone interested in Turkish history and culture!
Lilih S — Google review
Here lies the founder of the Ottoman Empire. The shrine attracts many visitors and is ket in a very good condition. The guards at the entrance are dressed in the former of the days when Osman was the Sultan. They are a part of the attraction of the place. As it is a mausoleum, modest dressing is recommended.

The resting place of Osman Gazi, holy shrines of other important figures and close companions of the Ottoman regime. Located in Tophane park, which overlooks the panoramic view of Bursa city. Open to the visitors and free to enter, a calm, quiet and peaceful atmosphere near the tomb. A ceremonial reenactment used to perform there. Dressed as Ottoman soldiers and offer tribute to them in a crowd of spectators. Orhan Gazi's (Son of Osman Gazi) resting place is also next to this. Really a place to feel the old history and understand. A must visit spot in Bursa.
Hashim S — Google review
Here lies the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, I mean what can be said other than, May Allah grant Osman Gazi Jannat-ul-Firdous for all his contributions. The experience of visiting the tomb was very good. Make sure to stay till the end of the hour to see the guard change. Rest in peace sir.
Soban — Google review
The tomb of the first Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi! When Bursa was conquered in 1326, Osman was still alive but too ill and old to take part in the campaign, so his son Orhan led the conquest. Next to Osman Gazi’s tomb, you’ll also find the tomb of his son, Orhan Gazi. What’s interesting is that the tomb of Osman Gazi is still guarded by human guards!
Stefan — Google review
We wanted to pay something but the staff refused. May God bless the administration of Bursa for taking care of the place. Real soldiers are standing there! Bravo for their work and may God give them strength

Visiting the tomb of Osman Gazi was an amazing and unforgettable experience. As the founder of the great Ottoman Empire (Osmanlı Sultanate), his final resting place carries immense historical and cultural importance. The tomb is beautifully preserved, and the peaceful atmosphere allows visitors to truly reflect on the legacy of this iconic leader. What made my visit even more special was witnessing a traditional parade near the tomb. It added a vibrant and ceremonial touch to the experience, giving a glimpse into the rich Ottoman heritage and how it’s still honored today. The location also offers stunning views over Bursa, and nearby sites like Orhan Gazi’s Tomb and the historic Tophane Clock Tower make it a perfect spot for history lovers. A must-visit destination for anyone exploring the roots of the Ottoman Empire!

Uludağ Teleferik is the world's longest aerial tram, spanning 5.5 miles from the city to a nearby ski resort and park. Whether visiting in winter or summer, Uludağ offers a range of experiences. In winter, it's a snowy wonderland perfect for skiing, while in summer, the cool weather provides relief from the heat.
Have been here 2 times.. 2019 and 30 December 2024. My son was excited during the whole trip. ❤️❤️
Sabara — Google review
It was an okay ride. The price was high compared to the ride. There was a bit of a wait to get the tickets and there was a part of the lift that was not working so we only were able to ride half of it. If you have money to spare do it or else, it’s okay to miss it. One of the employees spoke arabic so that was very helpful.
Mike A — Google review
The view is absolutely stunning and worth seeing at least once. However, the cable car is quite expensive—especially for non-Turkish visitors, and it's unclear why there's a price difference. What's more frustrating is that they still charge the full fare even when the second station is closed, meaning you can't reach the summit. While it's officially "due to maintenance," it's clear that this closure is seasonal, as the upper section is simply not open in summer. Overall, it felt overpriced for a partial experience. I’m glad I saw it once, but I wouldn’t go again.
Elfra F — Google review
While the views from the Uludağ cable car are undeniably breathtaking, the overall experience left much to be desired. As a foreigner, I was charged 950 TL (around €22), which feels unfairly steep—especially considering that half the line was apparently "under maintenance" (we were told we couldn’t reach the summit, a common excuse it seems during the low season). There was no prior warning about the limited access, and no reduced fare to reflect the shorter ride. Beyond the scenic ride itself, the rest of the experience felt disorganized and poorly managed. For the price paid, I expected more than just a one-way view and vague explanations. The natural beauty is there, but everything else—from pricing to transparency—needs serious improvement.
Carmine M — Google review
Love it... Very organized. The fast line cost 300 lira but it's worth it... You don't have to wait to get there. Clean cars, the mountains are beautiful, touring the forest is a must. Must try if u visit Bursa

Wonderful experience to fly through the mountains covered with trees and clouds on top. I am so happy that the people and government of Turkey have taken a good care of their country. Would love to visit again.
Haroon M — Google review
The views were great. But the prices were outrageous. My Turkish fiancé was 90 tl to ride the cable car whereas, they charged me 300 tl because of my USA passport. It’s not fair. We spent 110 tl on just 2 coffees. Make sure to bring your own food because everything is overpriced. Other than that, the mountain is a great place to escape the heat and stress of the city. Many playgrounds for children.
Kerenza P — Google review
One of the amazing experiences I had in Turkey. The cable way has 2 stops. The first one (Satialan) is at 1635 m altitude. Once out, you will fund many activities and things to do for the whole family. You can have nature walks in the amazing fir forest, play at the adventure park, rent a bike or ATV, have a picnic in nature and many other things. You can easily spend the day there especially for families. The second stop (kurbagakaya) is at 1810 m altitude. It has ski resorts and chalets. The ride in the cable way itself is amazing since you go up Uludag mountain, then ride almost horizontally, then ride to to the top very close to the trees where you can enjoy the fir trees. It is a must when in Bursa.

We had a really nice experience at Bursa Kebapçısı. The view was great and the service was attentive and friendly. The İskender was cooked just right, and the yogurt was fresh and tasty. First time to try iskender kebab and it definitely taste different from other kebab. food is in great taste but pricy. The place is in a quite garden like place amid the vibrant part of the city. The services is like servers in high end restaurant. The only thing is I think it is overpriced. I ordered the “1.5 person” portion and the whole meal is 410 lira include a Ayran drink. I expect to get more meat but the bottom is the bread.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bursa Kabapesi during my trip to Bursa, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The moment I took a bite of their Bursa kebaps, I was blown away by the unique and tantalizing flavors. The combination of perfectly cooked beef, aromatic spices, and a hint of smokiness created a taste sensation like no other. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making it an ideal place to visit with your family. The friendly staff added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The attention to detail in the presentation of the dishes was impressive, showcasing the care and passion that goes into each meal. As a beef lover, I appreciated that Bursa Kabapesi focuses solely on beef offerings. This dedication to quality is evident in every bite. The beef was incredibly tender and juicy, bursting with flavor. It's clear that they source the finest cuts of meat to ensure an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend Bursa Kabapesi to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Bursa. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant will not disappoint. Make sure to try their Bursa kebaps for a true culinary delight. Trust me, you won't regret it!" 🥙👌

To begin with, it's important to clarify that the dish known as Iskender Kebap should actually be referred to as Bursa Kebap, as another restaurant holds the naming rights. Nevertheless, the culinary delight remains the same—Iskender Kebap. The food at this establishment is truly exceptional, particularly their delectable eggplant sauce that accompanies the kebap. The service is prompt and efficient, with ample seating available. The servers are also highly commendable, making the overall dining experience quite enjoyable. Nestled near the iconic Ulu Mosque, Âbad Türk Sofrası is a delightful culinary gem in Bursa that promises an unforgettable dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. Guests rave about the delicious, freshly prepared dishes, particularly the renowned Iskender Kebab, which captures the essence of local flavors beautifully. The restaurant prides itself on its hygiene and offers stunning views that enhance your meal.
So the food was really good. We can’t really say if it is the best in Bursa since we only tried this place, but we loved the service. They were very nice. They even got us extra salads for free. They were respectful. It is very hygiene and the only restaurant next to ulu mosque that has a nice view And although they don’t serve tea but since we really wanted to , they got us some even though it wasnt on the menu but they got it for us and for FREE

Abad restaurant was recommended by a friend to try its iskender and kebab. Our experience was average due to the delayed service and unattentive waiters; we ask for five Water bottles and the waiter brought 4 bottles. We asked him more than one time to get another bottle but he keeps forgetting. I ordered double iskender, the meat was good a little bit dry and in general was above average in taste and portion though it was not hot. The other food we ordered where mixed kebab and kofte. The kofte was delicious and hot. The bill was 818 TL which was overpriced. The cashier didn't give me a receipt. I think he was doing tax fraud.

This kebab shop Kebapçı İskender is a popular attraction near the city center in Bursa, Turkey. The ground meat skewers are delicious and the atmosphere is old-fashioned and traditional. It can be difficult to get a seat, but it's worth it.
I ate Iskander kebab for the first time, and for me (that my country has many kinds of delicious kebabs), the taste stayed with me forever. The respectful treatment of the staff, good service and nostalgic atmosphere along with the fair price was a complete package.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tarihi Mavi Dükkan İskender 1867 is a must-visit for lovers of traditional Turkish kebab. The food is incredibly tasty and full of authentic flavor. This place has been around for a long time, and it shows in the quality and care they put into every dish. You might have to wait a little, but it’s definitely worth it. The İskender is especially amazing. Highly recommended for a true taste of Turkish cuisine!
Nusret K — Google review
Best İskender, I had. The portion is the right size, with a generous amount of butter, making it a tasty and true comfort food. Compared to other places I tried in Bursa, this one was much better in both quality and service, which was superior. Highly recommend it!!!

We wanted to try İskender kebap here, but there was a long queue, so we left at first. Later, while walking by, we saw an available table and went in. We sat and ordered, but the waiter didn’t seem happy with our order and just said “PEKI.” After a few minutes, a group of five guests arrived, and their food was served quickly, while we were still waiting! We found this behavior unfair. The food was good, but it’s expensive and not really worth the price.

Best Iskander kebab i've eaten. It was really delicious. Place is small, but cozy. Is normally full, so you need to wait outside. The staff is very friendly. Definitely a MUST place to try while in Bursa.
Wilbert A — Google review
The food was very fresh and delicious, authentically cooked over coals and served in a perfectly balanced plate of meat, bread and yogurt. The wait was shortened by the fact that they very efficiently take your order beforehand and therefore once seated, you receive the food in a matter of minutes. In my opinion, well worth the price!

Tophane Clock Tower is a striking 15-meter-tall neoclassical structure that was reconstructed in 1905. Originally built as a fire tower, it has become a popular attraction for both local and Arab tourists, partly due to the city's natural beauty and its prominence in Turkish movies and TV series. The area around the clock tower is rich in historical sites, including the tombs of Osman Ghazi and Orhan Ghazi, the founding fathers of the Ottoman Empire.
Totally worth it! If not for the historical monuments then at least just for the fantastic view of old town Bursa with its beautiful old mosques and bazaars, and the gorgeous mountainside.

The Irgandi Bridge, constructed during the Ottoman era in 1442, is a significant historical landmark in Bursa. It served as a commercial hub with an Ottoman bazaar on top and storage spaces within its main structure. The bridge is adorned with traditional arts and crafts outlets, offering visitors a glimpse of artisans at work. Its yellow bazaar atop the ancient stone bridge makes it a unique sight in Turkey.

Tophane Parkı, located in Bursa's Osmangazi neighborhood, offers impressive views of the city and is surrounded by historical sites. The park features the Tophane Clock Tower, currently under renovation, as well as the tombs of Bursa's founder Orhan and his son Osman Gazi. Tophane Park is located in Bursa's Osmangazi neighborhood. This is one of Bursa's busiest areas. There are so many historical sites surrounding this park. The Tophane Park is surrounded by lovely flower gardens and trees. This is really energizing. The sight of tulip blooms in the center of the park astounded me. Additionally, the entire Tophane Square is visible from the park's summit. The Tophane Clock tower and Osman Gazi's tomb are located in this park. Osman Gazi's tomb : The founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman Gazi, was buried at this tomb. There are also a number of graves. The following people are buried there as well: Nilüfer Hatun, the wife of Osman Gazi; his son Şehzade Kasım Çelebi, his daughter Fatma Sultan, Murad's son Savcı Bey and Asburçe Hatun, Yıldırım Bayezid's sons Musa Çelebi, Şehzade Korkut, and Cem Sultan's son Şehzade Abdullah. Tophane Clock Tower: Bursa's Tophane Clock Tower was built by Ottoman Sultan II. It is an important monumental work reflecting the architecture of the Ottoman period. The historical clock tower is said to have been constructed to commemorate Abdulhamid's throne ascension on its 29th anniversary. This significant massive structure embodies the Ottoman era's architectural style. It has six floors and a height of 33 metres. Stunning viewpoint overlooking Bursa from beside the tower. From August 2, 1904, to August 31, 1905, was when the clock tower's construction was finished.

The Muradiye Complex, located just a short walk west of the Bursa Castle remains, is a historically rich site that includes the Muradiye Mosque, built in 1426 under Sultan Murat II. The complex also features a madrasa and the tombs of sultans. The mosque's architecture is reminiscent of Bursa's Green Mosque and boasts a garden filled with domed tombs that narrate the early Ottoman Empire's turbulent history and succession struggles.

This complex is set in pleasant gardens with a small cafe for refreshments. The mosque with the is very impressive, commissioned by Sultan Murad ll it contains 12 tombs(türbe)most belonging to the relatives of the Sultan. The mosque was completed in 1426, fire damaged the mosque in early 18th century, and one of the minarets collapsed due to an earthquake in the 19th century.,. The complex houses a Madrasa, Bath, and Maradiye Hospice. The Madrasa (school) is now a museum. It was the last complex built by an Ottoman Sultan in Bursa, Murad ll what is the father of Mehmet, the conqueror. Some of the tombs have is Iznik tiles. The museum has beautiful copies of the Quran. I found this to be a beautiful and relaxing place, despite the fact it must attract many tourists and local people.

The Complex of Sultan Murad II was the highlight of my Bursa visit. The interior of the mosque is one of the nicest we have visited in Turkey. There are a dozen tombs in the complex and these are immaculately restored. There is quite a variation in the burial plots and the decorations in each. The Karagoz Museum in Bursa, Turkey, is a unique celebration of the traditional art of Turkish shadow puppetry, particularly the Karagoz theater. It houses an extensive collection of exquisitely crafted puppets, costumes, and accessories that offer visitors a captivating insight into this centuries-old performance art.
Ive always loved karagoz and hacivat! Used to watch some clips on tv back in the day so seeing this was super cool! Its a shame the culture of storytelling with puppets is dying whilst it being a very fun and special. Its a small museum and it was free to enter. It was super interesting to read the given information and see how those puppets actually look like in real life. I wouldve loved for this museum to have a museumshop with souvenirs! Sadly stores nearby didnt sell anything related to karagoz and hacivat either

A very interesting museum! I've read about the Karagoz and Bahlavan in the Middle Eastern and Central Asian culture before and how they influenced kingdoms and civilians but never thought of finding a place that tells the story through pictures, old newspapaers and wooden figures from various destinations. Also, i was lucky to attend a Karagoz play during a school trip. Of course, it was in turkish and i didn't understand a word, but the music was so entertaining it reminds me of my childhood, add to that the excitement and energy i felt amongst the children..That was priceless!! متحف الاراجوز

We decided to choose this for iftar dinner in 2025, as if we received the soup kitchen service from the Ottoman period, and even then our people were more naive and polite. I couldn't believe it, as if the gentlemen serving were asking why you came. You say thank you, there is no response, no one says bon appetit, rude service. We ate quickly and got up, wondering how we could eat and go. Besides, you were not cheap. We returned home with a meal that was not worthy of the 800 TL per person fee. I was an embarrassment to my wife and daughter. With this service, yes, do not provide service in normal times.

Durum restaurant
Donerci Bekir Usta is a popular spot known for its delicious lahmacun, crispy and flavorful. The green salad is standard, and the service can be a bit amateurish at times. The restaurant has become more comfortable over the years and offers favorites like wrap, raw meatballs, and kunefe. With multiple branches in Bursa, it opens from 10/11:00 in the morning until 03:00 at night with friendly staff.
It was very good, i mean food drinks and the service. THANK YOU ALL :)

Turkish restaurant
İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan is a renowned restaurant in Bursa, known for inventing the famous Iskender kebap generations ago. The restaurant doesn't have a menu as they exclusively serve Iskender kebap. Along with the meal, patrons can enjoy Sira, a sweet drink made of slightly fermented grape juice unique to Bursa. Located centrally in Bursa, this historic restaurant exudes coziness and charm.
A historical wooden shop full of charm and warmth! The atmosphere feels authentic, and the smell of İskender makes you even more hungry 😋 Delicious food, kind staff, and a real taste of Bursa’s tradition.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find the same taste as before. In the past, the taste of butter and yogurt was also better. Now, I found the taste of the İskender ordinary.

I had the Iskender at İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan, and it was really tasty! The amount of meat was generous, which was a pleasant surprise. Personally, I found the hot melted butter on top a bit excessive for my taste, but overall, it was a delicious experience. Highly recommend trying it out!

The Original !! and full of character, İSKENDER Tarihi Ahşap Dükkan offers a delicious taste of traditional Iskender kebab in a charming, old-style wooden setting. The meat is tender and flavorful, the butter and tomato sauce are rich and perfectly balanced, and the service is warm and attentive. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience genuine Turkish flavors in a place that feels like a step back in time. Highly recommended!

it's really a place just for Iskender. There's much varieties on the menu. Since we came in the late afternoon and was not the peak season for tourists, we have been served very quick and attentively. And we got a very good table for us.😃

I read online this was a must eat meal in Bursa... yes this is true. You can capture Bursa in this meal. Very delicious and freshly prepared as you order. I recommend sharing a portion with someone so you can continue to try more street food in the area. Definitely mix the tomato/ meat/ bread/ yogurt together with the green pepper.... it will be a great flavor explosion in your mouth.

Nestled within the picturesque Soganli Botanical Park in Bursa, Turkey, Bursa Zoo is a delightful destination for families and wildlife lovers alike. This charming zoo showcases an impressive array of global species, including majestic giraffes, powerful lions, playful zebras, and even grizzly bears. Designed with animal welfare in mind, the zoo offers spacious habitats that mimic natural environments while providing visitors with an engaging experience. Bursa Zoo goes beyond just observing animals; it serves as a hub for education and conservation.
This is the biggest zoo I ever visited. It just keeps going. Very unique experience and a MUST if you went to Bursa. You will see too many animals, you could see some animals for the first time. There were many school kids everywhere, I didn't get annoyed, but some people may not prefer that. There were trees, but there weren't many shades, so make sure to visit on cloudy or cool days, not a sunny day.
Mohammed A — Google review
A lush green Zoo with many animals and species protected in a beautiful manner. In Bursa, one of the main attractions with your family and kids. An affordable entry fee of 40L with large parking outside and many refreshments inside. The highlight is this maintained greenish botanical garden and pavements lead you to walk to explore this open zoo without any tiresome. Spent 3-4 hours watching the animals and their lives in fantastic weather. A must go place in Bursa.

Bursa Zoo was fine but not very impressive. Some animals looked a bit sad, and a few spots had an unpleasant smell. There were some cute animals to see, though. Overall, it could be better. The ticket price (50 lira) was fair.🦒🦚🐆🦁🦏🦙

Pretty average zoo, great for what it is. I do recommend if you are in the area with kids and have nothing to do. I don’t think it’s the best zoo that you can go to as an adult but your kids will enjoy. I do appreciate the benches and shops. Although some sections were closed so we didn’t get to see all the animals unfortunately

Historical landmark
Bursa Kalesi, also known as Bursa Citadel, is a remarkable testament to the rich history of the city. Dating back to the 1st century BC, this ancient fortress was initially constructed by the Bithynians and has since witnessed centuries of conquests and changes under Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman rule. The castle's historical significance has attracted travelers for centuries, with notable excursions initiated by various explorers throughout different periods.

Bursa Castle is an absolute gem in the city of Bursa! Sitting atop of city is has stunning views. Parking was ample. We loved exploring this historic castle. The walls and towers are impressive, and you can really feel the history as you walk through the grounds. Each layer of the castle was from a different era and the visual storytelling was captivating. There's a small admission fee, but it's worth it for the views and the experience. We were delighted to find a cozy café inside where we could take a break and enjoy a drink. During our visit, there was an exhibit that started that day which is amazing. The videos in the prison section were powerful, which added an exciting touch to our experience. There are interactive elements in various areas. The combination of history, a and beautiful scenery makes Bursa Castle a fantastic stop. If you’re in the area, definitely take the time to check it out! We highly recommend it!

Castle is small as I expected to be much bigger but the interactive digital content and videos are much appreciated. Also it is free entrance. I added some pics yet they don't reflect enough the nice experience. I wish they open more sections of the castle to have a longer experience ( still with the closed parts it is just a very small area of the original protection wall).

Small museum yet having a rich collection of Roman era artefacts found in the area. There are several rooms - sarcofagus area (each of the marble plate has QR code next to it where the markings are translated), busts and statues area, pottery and amphoras area, coins area. There are also some relics outside of the building. The museum is free and located in a very beautiful parc where you can have a stroll before or after visiting it.

Good place if you are looking for artistic food service otherwise nothing special about it and it's expensive. The place wasn't quite clean. I ordered a mixed grill plate for 45 tl that was literally two small pcs of chicken, two small pcs of lamp, two small pcs of kebab that tasted very bad, and a tiny kufta between two large pieces of egg plants. Ayran drink was made by them but it was little salty for my taste.

Very bad service and also gave us a wrong order that was cheaper than what we ordered and proceeded to put the more expensive item that they didnt give us on the check and didn't want to remove it from the check. It was also very expensive compared to the taste of the food which is horrid

Kebab shop
The İSKENDER ® İskender Efendi Konağı kebab shop is a traditional Turkish restaurant with delicious and succulent beef dishes. The atmosphere is both modern and elegant, with traditional furniture and art work. The menu is very simple, focused on just one recipe - Beef Iskeneder - and the upstairs area offers private dinning and sitting areas, making it a perfect spot for an evening out.
It’s probably been 10 years since my last visit here, and this experience was very different from what I remember — in a good way. Since it was dinner time and the two famous kebab spots in the city center were already closed, we decided to try this place. From the warm welcome at the entrance, to being seated, taking our order, the timing and presentation of the food, the butter service, and especially the flavor of the dishes and the Kemalpaşa dessert — everything was excellent. Considering the prices are comparable to other well-known kebab restaurants, this place offers great value. That said, while the butter was brought out quickly (as it should be), I think the overall pace of service could be slowed down a bit. The entire process moves so fast, it almost feels like you’re eating at a fast-food pace in a sit-down restaurant. Of course, delivering everything so quickly and accurately is a real achievement — but the speed can make the dining experience feel a bit rushed. The staff were very polite and handled everything perfectly. The restaurant and restrooms were also spotless. Highly recommended!
Mehmet — Google review
It’s absolutely so very beautiful. In the midst of greenery and nature, a beautiful historical mansion. Outdoor and indoor tables available in high quantities. It’s a historical place. Gives you the sense of time jumping or beaming up to a kinder and brighter alternative universe. The service was alright. The İskender tasted no better than HD İskender Kadikoy in all honesty. I expected better.
Şevval S — Google review
İskender kebab here is simply genius. The bread alone is worth talking about. It holds its shape under the sauce, slightly crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and still warm. The meat is thin, juicy, and full of flavor, sliced right before serving so it stays tender. The tomato sauce adds brightness, while the melted butter gives richness. Then comes the yogurt: cool, creamy, and refreshing, cutting through the heat and balancing every bite. The textures and flavors come together perfectly. It’s not just a meal, it feels like a crafted dish.
Naji M — Google review
Thank you for the wonderful service (to everyone and especially to Osman). We love the food!!! It’s rare to find a restaurant with 300 years history. Although it only serves one amazing iskender, they also have vegetarian option which is also good and delicious. Please please please try the grape juice. I will definitely come back if I’m in bursa, cultural city with amazing food and lovely people.
Ha L — Google review
I visited from Canada with my family. This is the best iskendar kabob I ever had! It was extremely tasty and not very heavy. Not to mention the restaurant was very nice and was accompanied by a short history lesson after the meal. The original owner invented this dish! Highly recommend.
Naim S — Google review
Atmosphere is great and I liked everything about its interior. Service is extremely fast and professional and of the reasons about being fast is because they have very limited menu. The place is specialized in Iskender Kabab and they cook nothing but this plate. Same for desert where they have almost one option. But everyone is coming to taste this plate so I can't object about it. Food is very good. You pay a lot compared to others in Borsa but this is expected from the innovator of this dish but I don't feel the difference in taste is that much. Overall I still recommend despite the price and being specialized in single dish because the Overall experience is worth the money but you can try only once.
Sherif M — Google review
Kebap has never been among my favorite dishes, as I usually find it too heavy on the stomach and often made with fatty, lower-quality meat. All the more surprising was my experience here. I have rarely eaten something so delicious and at the same time so light and well-prepared. The quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation are evident in every bite. On recommendation, we tried the “Sıra Kuru Üzüm Suyu.” At first, I didn’t order it since I generally avoid sugary drinks. But once it arrived at our table, I checked the ingredients and was impressed. No refined sugar, only natural fruit sugar. Refreshing, pure, and the perfect complement to the meal. We shared a Kemal Paşa dessert afterwards, which was also outstanding. Delicate in flavor, pleasantly sweet, and beautifully balanced. A place that convinces not only with its excellent food but also with attentive service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Absolutely recommendable. We will gladly return.

It's so othantic atmosphere that deserve a living experience while visiting Bursa , the surrounding are so amazing and the setup is so great, the service is good , despite of the extreme crowded place , the taste isn't the best as you still feel the industrial taste , but all the others are wonderfully designed to live a nice experience.

Because the atmosphere is romantic :) We thought the wine menu was very extensive, but it is not. There are brands we know. Still, I can say that it deserves this score because of the environment. (Translated by Google) The place is not bad. Yes, it has a romantic side, but it is unacceptable that they do not turn on enough heaters in the winter garden in cold weather. People come to spend time. 5 minutes is not for snacking. We had to get up early because we were so cold. Let's say feeling cold is a personal thing. Well, I'm calling out to the owners of the place. So, it doesn't make any sense to you that all 10 people sitting in the venue are wearing coats. I don't understand how you feel comfortable while everyone else is sitting in their coats. In short, do not go in winter. (Original) Mekan fena değil. Romantik bir yanı var evet ama kış bahçesinde soğuk havada yeteri kadar ısıtıcı açmamaları kabul edilemez. When I called to make a reservation, they said you will order the food when it arrives, optionally. Normally, the iftar menu they publish has 2 different menus, white and red meat, and another menu within itself. While there were 2 different main course and soup options available, the lady who came to the table to order asked with an indifferent attitude whether it was white meat or red meat, and we stated that we wanted to eat red meat, and only Hünkar. We learned that it was good. Among the soups, there were only lentils. So, the summary of the matter is that we cooked this today. If it suits you, eat it. If it doesn't suit you, there is an imposition. Menu and so on. The indifferent, rude and indifferent attitude of the lady who took the order, the terrible taste of the imposed food, the terrible taste of the food brought to the table. The fact that the water is filled from the fountain and placed in front of you as if it has never been opened before, they never visit you after bringing the food, you cannot find anyone to talk to. So, as a business, it's a disgrace. Don't even go near it. It's a shame, the beautiful place has fallen into the hands of the wrong people, it's a real shame... If you're ever in Bursa, make sure to stop by Safahat Lokantası for an unforgettable dining experience. The service is exceptional, with friendly staff like the young waitress Surreval who goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a wonderful time. This charming eatery not only offers delicious food but also has convenient amenities like ATMs on-site. After enjoying a delightful meal, don’t miss out on their scrumptious desserts and perfectly brewed cappuccinos.
Fantastic service, the young waitress Surreval was most helpful and delightful. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped 6 Australians to have a wonderful night. All the waiters and waitress made a great lasting impression on us all.

For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Green Tomb. Not quite as popular as Koza Han, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

The Green Tomb, also known as Yesil Turbe, is a magnificent mausoleum located in Bursa, Turkey. Built in 1421 for Sultan Mehmed, it features an ornate octagonal shape made of marble and green tiles. Adjacent to the impressive Green Mosque, this site showcases intricate Ottoman architecture and vibrant tilework. Commissioned by Sultan Mehmet Celebi in 1419, the tomb captures the transition from Persian to Ottoman architectural styles.
Both the cami and the türbesi are beautiful art work , calligraphy and glass work. One of the many beautiful mosques in Bursa.

This tomb belongs to Mehmet Çelebi Sultan, one of the sultans of the Ottoman empire. There are a few other tombs that belong to the sons and daughters of the sultan. The architecture of this tomb complex reflects Ottoman style. As it is a holy place, dressing modestly is recommended.
Reza N — Google review
The Green Tomb is renowned for its extraordinary and stunning decoration, both inside and out. Its walls are adorned with beautifully crafted tiles that showcase intricate designs and vibrant colors, enhancing its visual appeal. The tomb is the final resting place of Mehmed I, the fifth Ottoman Sultan. It was built by his son and successor, Mehmed II, who decided to lavish more decoration on it than most other structures of the time. Ideally located nearby, both the Green Mosque and the Green Tomb are easily accessible, making them perfect to visit together. Their close proximity offers visitors a seamless opportunity to explore two of Bursa’s most treasured Ottoman landmarks.

💚The Green Tomb (Yeşil Türbe) is one of Bursa’s most iconic landmarks and the resting place of Sultan Mehmed I, who reunited the Ottoman Empire after a civil war. The turquoise and emerald tiles covering the exterior are breathtaking and symbolize peace and heaven. Inside, the fine calligraphy and geometric patterns reflect early Ottoman art and Persian influence. The area is quiet, clean, and beautifully maintained. It’s located just next to the Green Mosque, making both easy to visit together.

The Green Tomb (Yeşil Türbe) in Bursa is a stunning piece of early Ottoman architecture and a true symbol of peace and elegance. Built in 1421 for Sultan Mehmed I, the mausoleum is beautifully decorated with turquoise-green tiles that give it a serene and spiritual aura. The interior is equally breathtaking, with intricate Iznik tilework, calligraphy, and a peaceful atmosphere that invites reflection. It’s part of the Green Complex, located right next to the Green Mosque, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in history, culture, or art. Though the tomb is not very large, its beauty and historical significance make it unforgettable. Highly recommend visiting with a guide to fully appreciate its story and craftsmanship.

The Tasavvuf Cultural Center, also known as the Karabas-Veli Kultur Merkezi, hosts nightly dances at its headquarters. While it may be challenging to locate on Google Maps, spotting a tall yellow building and witnessing people socializing in the tea garden confirms you have found the right place. According to locals, Saturdays offer the most vibrant and enthusiastic dances. However, even on a Tuesday visit, one can still be captivated by the mesmerizing performances.
My visit to Turkey would have been incomplete if I hadn’t attended the spiritual and heart-touching ceremony at The Tasavvuf Cultural Center (Tasavvuf Vakfi Kültür Merkezi). I may not be able to describe it in words, but the atmosphere there was beyond explanation. If you are in Bursa, you must attend this ceremony at least once. We were informed that this ceremony is held daily around 8:30 or 9:00 PM, and various volunteers come and showcase their beautiful talents. Before attending, I had no idea what it was. The ceremony was incredibly soul-enriching, with nasheeds (devotional songs) sung in Turkish, accompanied by a mesmerizing blend of drums and flute that touched the strings of the soul. During the ceremony, we were also served Turkish tea, which doubled the enjoyment of watching this spiritual performance. There is seating on the upper floor for women, and the best part is that this place is ♿accessible to everyone.

Emirhan is a historic building that was part of the Orhan Ghazi Complex, with Kapan Khan and Bedesten constructed nearby during different eras. (Translated by Google) Emir Inn is the first of the inns built during the Ottoman period. This structure has been used under different names until today. These had different names such as Bezzaz-ı Atik, Bezzazistan, Bey Hanı, Sultan Hanı and Kervansaray, respectively. And finally, it became known as Emir Hani. There are 36 rooms with cellar-style windows on the lower floor, and 38 rooms with a window and a stove on the upper floor. The two-storey inn, which consists of 74 shops in total, also has an inner courtyard of 46x50 dimensions. There are porticoes on both floors of the inn. Both floors are surrounded by porticoes. There is a renovated fountain and old trees in the middle of the inn. This courtyard seems to be one of the most visited places by visitors. Because in addition to the thick walls surrounding the inn, the trees and canopies have become a place for tired visitors to rest and cool off. Emir Hani was a place where all kinds of commercial materials were weighed. The tax collected from the scales was also recorded as income in this khan. Textile products, souvenirs and books are sold in the inn, where visitors are always present, and it is still full of commercial life. Even though it was defeated by wild capitalism; These are warmer, more friendly and more peaceful places than the 'shopping malls', which are the modern day inns that are everywhere today.

Sfiha restaurant
Pidecioglu is a restaurant that offers pizza-like pita or cantik as a main course. It is highly recommended, along with Kardesler Pide Salonu and Aci Dayi, for those looking to enjoy this type of cuisine. If you're interested in Ottoman flavors, Daruzziyafe and Rumeli Kardesler tables provide a wide range of tastes.
We tried the meat pizza which was among the best I’ve had in Turkey so far. Light and well seasoned. Nice clean ambiance. Everything looked very hygienic. Very friendly service.

pide was delicious, if you want something light then get the small pita. the waiters do not speak a lick of english and they do not have an english menu. here is a rough translation of the menu but its not accurate. it’s also on the pricier side but overall it was a good meal.

I dont understand the high ratings. Food is good, but only one pide (kiymali) without any beverages costs 17.5 TL (August 2019). Plus the waiter is smoking next to you, while you are eating. I am sure there are better options out there.

Kebab shop
Turkish restaurant
Uludağ Kebapçısı Cemal Cemil Usta is a popular spot in Bursa, known for its delicious Iskender kebab. The authentic shop offers an amazing culinary experience with high-quality ingredients and a rich history. The masters behind the kebab have been raised by the founder of Iskender kebab, ensuring an authentic taste. Despite the long queues, the food is worth the wait, and the friendly service adds to the overall experience.
Trying Iskender kebab at Uludag Kebapcisi was an experience like no other—something I’d never had before. It was our first day in Bursa, and my cousin, the only one of us who’d tried it before, brought us here. We were a group of 10 friends, none of whom had ever tasted it. When the plates of Iskender kebab arrived, we thought the portions looked small and doubted they'd be enough to fill us up. But once we started eating, we quickly realized that one plate is more than enough for one person seriously, lolllzzzz 😄 No doubt, the taste was incredible, like a taste of heaven,,, so good I can still remember it vividly. Each plate was 520 Turkish lira, so our total was 5200 TL, making it the priciest meal of our Turkey road trip, but absolutely worth it! The restaurant itself has a nice location and is partially ♿accessible, which is a plus.

If you’re looking for the original İskender, this is the place to try in Turkey. Simple, authentic, top quality, and very good service. Valet parking makes it easy. If you’re in Bursa, don’t fall into tourist traps — this is the place.

We had the chance to visit the authentic shop while our road trip with my family. The food is , hands down , amazing. Best iskender kebap that i’ve tried . All the ingredients are high quality . Everything tastes great. And the authenticy of the historic shop is great as well. If you are looking for a luxury shop , this is not the place. But if you like authentic places , that is it. The chance to feel the authenticy of a famous dish’s bornplace was great for us. We liked everything about it to be honest. We will definitly visit again when we are back to Bursa. Highly recommended.

It was my first time to eat Iskender and it didn't disappoint. It was so delish and savory. It's the best so far. The staff was nice. There were many photos on the wall as memoirs of the people who came and dined. Even though, the place was quiet small and hot, we would still love to come back.😅👍

To be honest I am disappointed that the food is not bad but the online reviews are good I was expecting something really good All those trip advisor and newspaper ratings are either paid or they never ate proper İskender before The sweets - Kemalpaşa was also just ok The service is good And prices are as mentioned by many other google reviews .....

Taste is amazing. The masters behind this amazing taste are raised by the founder of iskender kebab, Iskender Iskenderoglu. Their difference is that they don’t keep their meat in the freezer like the other restaurants do. Thus, you get the fresh meat cooked up and brought to you. They are always busy and full but if they cant get you a seat inside, they find seats in neigbour stores. Service is good and friendly. It was the very first time that my 5 year old son ate his first iskender kebab so the place is also special to us. Definetly recommended.

One of the most famous iskender restaurants in Bursa and Turkey. It gets very crowded, but the quality of taste and service is not worth the wait. I think the iskender is overrated and overpriced.

This was my first visit to Bursa. This restaurant was recommended by my friends. Don't expect a fancy, high end experience. It's a local and traditional experience. The moment you get inside, you'll find the pictures of all celebrities who visited the restaurants. You'll also find some really old frames of old documents. Expect a wait, since the inside is small. The food is very good! It's their specialty 🙌 İskender 🥰
