We visited this place in September this year…….What a lovely restaurant ! It was situated in the most gorgeous, pedestrian street in the heart of Plasencia. We had delicious food and the service was impeccable…… what a treat! The proud owner was absolutely charming. We would highly recommend this fabulous place.

We had a nice lunch. The pepper salad was the highlight. Only slightly spoiled by being charged for 2 portions of iberico ham when we ordered half and half of the lomo and Bellota, which the waitress said we could. It did look like a lot but you never know how much will be served as a ration.

A fantastic restaurant hidden away on a side street off the main square in Plasencia. Menu was on a Q code so bring your phone. Food and service was excellent. The red wine that was recommended was terrific.

It was a stop for lunch on the way from Ávila. The did not let us stay in the terrace to eat, even if when we arrived they were serving stake and other meals to a table outside. We ordered a salad with shrimps and it tasted very bad, we eat a the greens and the garlic only: ordered Pulpo a la Galega the potato was not done, very hard, the pulpo also not cooked either. Very small table seating and very loud, they yell at each other from the bar and from the other side of the room. Paid almost 50 euro with soft drinks included, way too pricey for a random local bar in the middle of nowhere. Totally not worth the stop.

We stopped at Casa de Tomas during a long drive and were very happy with the food and the service. We arrived at 2pm on a Sunday without a reservation at were told it was full. Having seen the food we were keen to stay so after some serious grovelling they set up a table for the 2 of us in the bar area but with food from the resteraunt. It was well worth the wait. The salad was crisp and fresh, the grilled veg was perfect and the boacalao with tomato sauce was spot on.

This restaurant is all about product and quality. Don’t come looking for fancy ideas, instead let yourself get carried away by their fish or meats. We tried the full seabass and a gorgeous steak on a different occasion and they were absolutely delicious. The entrées are equally delectable and it is worth coming on an empty stomach to make the most of your visit. Price is reasonable but not cheap. In terms of room for improvement, maybe the premises could do with an upgrade, I don’t think they are on a par with their kitchen quality.

We visited El Rincon De Amador on Friday 21 September as a pre wedding get together for my son Cameron and his bride to be Alicia. We hired for up to forty people for we everyone who travelled for the wedding from Escocia,Qatar,Saudi Arabia,Australia and Espana.It was a lovely evening of Spanish food,nice wines and drinks.The staff were wonderful,great service and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Thank you to everyone at El Rincon De Amador as it was a great preview for an amazing weekend.Five stars.

The lunch menu at La Parada de la Reina from the quality of the food and the price (€20 for a three course meal) were clear indicators that I’d gladly return. The red beet soup was extremely refreshing on a hot summer day. We were skeptical given its location but seems locals make an effort to come and dine here. If you want to park your car in the Parador de Plasencia garage and are not fearful of using a garage car elevator (you literally drive your car into an oversized elevator and descend to the parking level while in your car) here is a Google map link to the garage entrance on Calle Higuerillas https://goo.gl/maps/S7XMVQvFN1RLGnov9. Your car should not be too big and you should be comfortable parking in tight spaces (my car was a "small SUV" and the experience was fine but care was needed). You can also drive to the main Parador entrance within the old City, drop off your bags and then go park (which I don't recommend as it involves driving on very narrow streets with many pedestrians) The hot water supply for the shower varied wildly in temperatures from far too hot to not hot enough. We only have one complaint and it's for the female staff member who took care of breakfast, she was very rude and dry not only to us but all the other customers, it was the same so for our first stay in June 2025. She was not very welcoming then also and we remembered her for her lack of friendliness over both occasions.
