Very nice garden not far from the city, well maintained, water fountain with music is quite entertaining, popular English songs are played, rose garden is beautiful, few good and drinks vendors, no admission fees, need few hours to cover the whole garden.

You won’t find grand declarations here — just subtle grace: the way bamboo leans, the way water flows over stone. It’s a place where love doesn’t need words, where silence speaks fluently. Bring someone you want to hold hands with and not say much. Or come alone, with a book of poems and a heart that still listens. It’s not just beautiful — it’s beautifully quiet. And in that quiet, something timeless happens.

It's a beautiful walk until you reach the Japanese garden, a beautiful natural park, with many leafy trees, shaded areas, with great gaps for the sun to pass through, the sound of birds, people having picnics, or simply sunbathing, a very enjoyable experience.

It was a truly magical time, the lights and colours were enchanting, and the atmosphere felt like a gentle embrace, calm and soothing, a little haven for the soul.

The perfect little peaceful spot everyone wishes they had in their backyard, but few can afford. Luckily, this park is free, peaceful, and perfect all year round. I can’t really recommend it—after all, its charm lies in the solitude.

Very interesting place. It explains the history of public transportation in Hungary, mainly in the Budapest area. There are old vehicles in display. If you are interested in history, vehicles and engineering, it is definitely a place to visit.

Very large museum with a variety of trains. Display boards had all information translated to English too for any tourists. Very empty at the time of visiting with only 2 or 3 other groups of people present. Along with the trains was a large amount of history of transport in Hungary and a collection of buses. It is sad to see many of the trains rusting with failing paint but if the money is not there, the museum is not to blame.

An old wish of the experts of Budapest Transport Limited came true when, at the time of the modernisation of the Szentendre suburban railway line in 1991 - 92, a permanent exhibition could be opened in one of the reconstructed covered depots displaying the transport history of the capital and its neighbourhood. The depot was built in 1914, during the electrification of the suburban railway line, but by the beginning of the 1990"s it became unsuitable for the storage and maintenance of trains with big passenger carrying capacity. The museum consisting of five exhibition rooms and two display halls opened on July 14, 1992. The theme of the first room is the history of public transport in Budapest, presenting the legal predecessors of the company as well as the lines and vehicles operated by them. In the second room the visitors can get information about the public transport of other cities (such as Debrecen, Miskolc, Szeged and Szombathely). In the third room the technological relics of public transport infrastructure, track and catenary construction, maintenance and power supply are demonstrated. The fourth room exhibits the tools of the original forge that was linked with the old covered depot in Szentendre. The fifth room focuses on the history of bus and tram transport in Budapest. The visitors can find documents and photos, various tickets and vehicle spare parts here. In the hall and the yard of the museum tram and suburban railway cars, buses and trolley buses are standing. It can be an exciting experience for the children that they can get on the exhibited vehicles.

For a short trip on Saturday it is perfect for children and for 1~ 1.5 hours to spend. Many vehicles are open and you can go to see the interior. Not all possibilities are exhausted, it ( the collection) could be greater. Surprise: the photo ticket is more expensive than the tickets for adults. Unfortunately descriptions only in Hungarian.

They told us to leave at 16.25, when we were viewing the last information rooms, even though they close at 17.00, which is clearly written on their website, and also at the entrance sign.

Despite limited resources this is a great collection, some truly rare gems - kids can enjoy getting on most vehicles and even ringing bells!

Every day is Christmas if you're brave enough, right? Lovely shop with everything you could think of. A really nice touch were old decorations displayed in a seperate room. Really rolls back the years.

When I entered at once I've been back to my childhood Xmas seasons! Wonderful to feel Xmas during summer, but I think here is Xmas whole year! Who likes the "palatial kitsch" it can be found, but I mean in good way! I loved that as I loved to be recognised those ornaments and Xmas decorations as we had at home. Amazingly place and really felt the salesman and saleswoman's dedication to holiday seasons as Xmas in weekdays as well. Thanks for these beautiful experiences.

Must visit. The whole szentenrdre is a beautiful city and now this has converted into the tourist city. In all the other beautiful and attractive shops This is the most beautiful Christmas shop I have ever seen. All the things are well managed.

Christmas museum with old decorations also worth to buy some very unique decorations. Cute! We also met Santa on the spot.

One of the most amazing Christmas collections I have ever seen. We visited this museum during our last trip to Szentendre Hungary. The town itself is quite mesmerizing. And on top of it we went to this museum. It depicts the history and old ornaments, collections for Christmas. You can even buy the stuff you wish to and carry back. Must visit if you are in Szentendre 👍👌

I was amazed by what can be done with marzipan. The artistry is incredible. I liked that it says who created each piece and how many hours were spent on it. The price is 9,000 forints, and 30,000 with a guided tour – a fair price. It's a shame there isn't a workshop for children.

Amazing little shop with a wide variety of Marzipan. This was the first time I had a marzipan and it was amazing. They have wide variety of pure marzipan with flavors and a lot with chocolates, but my favorites was the pure almond marzipan. Definitely a unique stop for me. Just wish I could order more online. Definitely a must go place if you stop in this cute little town.

Very nice marzipan museum. Ground floor is shop, first floor is museum - about 6 smaller rooms full of sweet sculptures. We like it.

It’s definitively worth a visit but it should be called a gallery rather than a museum. There are some impressive pieces of art but I would have liked to know more about how the marzipan is made and how the sculptures are made.

Beautiful restaurant ambience and collection of cakes was mind blowing. Staff was very friendly and speaks English. Other items too looked delicious over the counter, need more visits to try all of them. Hot chocolate was yum! Due to time and other plans couldn’t visit the museum. But had one of the best cakes ever. This is must visit shop and try some cakes , hot chocolate and infused teas when you visit Szentendre. To get access to toilets speak to the member of staff as you would need coupons.

I came here around 11:00am during weekdays, but I found there is nearly no crowd here, don’t know whether it is because is weekdays or too early or just Feb like this.

Good idea but not as long as much as it seems like on photos, but the Danube can be seen a bit in the end of the street. Also some umbrella just loosing colour or shape. Free to see.

Very famous part of Szentendre, the colors in "umbrella's street" is a post card on the Centrum of the City and a good place for making photos and videos in Szentendre.

A really interesting small museum that hosts so many awesome things! The lady at the front desk is super friendly and nice, the tickets are not expensive and they even let us take our dogs into the open area with us. An awesome place to visit alone or with a group!

Very nice place, real retro stuff including cars, a bus! and motorcycles. inside you will find a real gem, everything that you can think of from the 70's and 80's. a must visit place when you are around.

I’ve cycled past this so many times and not visited, finally did - what a great museum! It’s full of retro items from Hungary and the former east, really well set up. You walk through the house with each room filled with items, then there are lots of vehicles outside - many that you can sit in. Well worth visiting if you are in the area.

Loads of retro stuff, not well organised. Only a few items on display have explanation attached. Good for hungarian boomers who can recall fond memories by seeing old items from their childhood or younger age. The place looks more like a flea market than a museum.

Whenever you are in Szentendre highly recommended to visit this lovely restaurant. The foods are very delicious and looks great, the staffs are very friendly and kind. We have been already here twice and had a great dinner 🥰🤩

We spontaneously stopped here for lunch on a day trip to Szentendre. We ordered the chicken with sun dried tomatoes and rice, as well as the egg curds with cheese, both meals quite tasty but I thought the curds (egg noodles) were the better option overall. It’s cheesy and the curds are soft and fluffy. The chicken in my opinion was just okay. If I had to pick between the two it would be the cheese curds, plus it’s the more authentic option (if you’re a foreigner and want to get that sort of more immersive experience in Hungary, I highly recommend it).

Passed by this restaurant when visiting a small town in suburb Budapest, it’s not too crowded, has great ambience and chill music. Roasted pork chuck and grilled chicken are delicious, chicken is juicy. Only thing is the roasted potato is over-cooked and a bit salty, everything else is just on point. Drinks like latte macchiato or cappuccino isn’t the best but satisfying enough. Staff are friendly and nice, service time is quick.

The food here was very very tasty, we had the goulash soup, frittates and pork cut (sadly 13:30 was too early for the stuffed cabbage but I bet it would've also been really good) Amazing place, deserves more recommendations, goulash was so full of flavor!

Nice restaurant in a cute small (though touristy) city. I got tasting menu II which was amazing and featured goose liver, a berry fruit soup, salmon, pork tenderloin and this cheese dumpling with fruit sauce. Every dish was amazing - key highlights were the goose liver "burger" and both fruit courses (refreshing and summery). The quality and quantity of the food was tops. Portions were big for a "tasting menu" so come hungry! This is a place I'll come back to again.

If you ever visit this beautifull city north of Budapest, I highly recommend to stop here and enjoy a really good meal. It is small with only 6 /7 tables inside. I had a cold tomato soup with pickles with cheese whch was superb. My wife had fried squid, which is difficult to find well done, but they were fresh and soft. I recommend the pork as I never had such succulent and crisp pork with a salty sauerkraut and mashed potato with gravy. My wife had an delicious duckbreast and as desert we took strawberry tiramisú which was creamy but not clear why they name It strawberry tiramisú as there were no strawberries but raspberries. With drinks and coffee we spent only €72. Presentation of the food was excellent as well.

A well located restaurant across a quiet road on the western riverside bank of the Danube river western branch, in Szentendre. Excellent venue for a lazy weekend morning or afternoon brunch or lunch, for good meals and drinks.🍕 🍺. To the management and staff, Thank you kindly for the relaxing meal I had, which was well prepated and presented, even though it was only a rather tasty, Pizza I enjoyed. The restaurant had a quiet vibe about, which added greatly to enjoying a relaxed Sunday afternoon brunch. Well Done to all @ Fantázia Étterem Pizzeria!! It was well worth stopping by for a meal and a drink. I'll will certainly be visiting again, when in Szentendre

The lángos was nice however the garlic soup was a bit too salty, yet nice. However the service was not the good, I did not receive the menu but I looked at the wall, also there was only three ppl (us) still I had to go order and had to go pay. It was pricey, and not even sure I paid over or not.

Everything was good. Nothing was outstanding but we were happy. The price point was reasonable and the service was polite. The views of the river made the patio a lovely place to hang

I had harcsapaprikás with sztrapacska. The waiters were very polite and we got the menu then our orders quickly. The portion was large and the food tasted great.

I took my foreign friend here. The view is nice if you sit outside. Soup was delicious. My irish friend really liked the chicken soup. The wiener schnitzel was such a big portion we could hardly finish. We didn't have space in our tummy to order dessert. 😋 Good experience! This was my second visit here.

Avoid this place if you can. 10 minutes before closing time the extremely sassy and rude waiter came to our table, removed everything even the cushions from under us. Beside this the food and the service was terrible. After 30 minutes of waiting for our drinks we had to ask the staff where are they and it turned out they have forgot our order. Don’t recommend given there are only better places right next to it. The atmosphere 2 stars is only given due to the Danube being close. To include 12% service fee after this in the bill is outrageous.

The service was friendly but on that day the salt went missing. All 3 dishes (pizza, spaghetti ‘carbonara’ and bean soup) were missing the salt. I am not a salty eater but even the pasta itself was not salted. Prices are fairly high but I guess that’s due to the location. Once you go inside you smell tha fat everything is fried in…

Food is always great here, prices are reasonable. Waiting is the best ever, the waiter guys are so professional. They are polite, calm, fast and patient with all the guests. The garden is cosy, they do everything possible to make sure you enjoy your meal even in the hottest day of summer. I would love to give 5 stars but the inner area sucks. It is dark and narrow, better to stay outside.

If you are planning to eat here then you should try the: Sirloin steak stuffed mushrooms and smoked cheese with purple onion jam, steak potato I promise that you won't regret it.

Unbelievably cool place, great historical vibes, super interesting! I'm absolutely happy about that visit!

Very nice place close to Budapest (half an hour drive) yet very tranquil and representing an old village of Hungary, where one can learn more about the old ways of living and cultural aspects of the Hungarians. If you don't have the whole day to spend at the site, it's recommended to take a bike from the reception area after getting in, as walking route is quite long.

Went to Szentendre with the intent of visiting this heritage museum. It is a terrific place with many buildings which were in danger of being demolished or simply disappearing. They were carefully taken apart and reassembled here. They were careful to retain the rustic nature of the buildings. Sometimes not everything is accessible due to the popularity of the space as a venue for filming movies and TV shows. Plenty of places to sit and have a picnic. Also several eating and drinking venues. Only snag I found was that on a Saturday afternoon there was no public transport back to Szentendre and I had to walk about 3 kilometres. Great place for a day out.

It's a beautiful place, with many things to see. You can easily spend an entire day here. Bike rentals may be a good option for those who don't like walking all day. History lovers will love this place, it has so many fascinating stories and accurate recreations of the past. You can find free to use toilets throughout the area frequently as well, which is a bonus.

We had a great experience here for two nights. Great location, used the washing machine (but no dryer), snacks on site and great kebab shop just next to the campground. Bike path into town was lovely too!

A nice camp but barely no rules, or at least no one here from the camping staff to take action when people act like animals at night and do not respect others, howling, yelling and other stuff. If you want peace and quiet in the middle of the nature this is NOT the place to be, it is only luck if you do not encounter some animal acting humans, cause the camp does not impose any rules about quiet hours...

Really nice place to stay here for holiday. The personell speaks German and English. They helped us a lot to solve the problem with our broken car even though it was public holiday in Hungary. I can really recommend this camp.

Don’t use the ATM near the reception. It will charge you a 10% higher exchange rate. Although the campsite doesn't operates this ATM, they should warn us for the higher rate.

This camping was a great stay. Very nice bungalow directly on the riverside. Great service from Maria and Kamilla. If you come to Hungaria, stay at Pap-sziget Camping.

Most amazing pieces of art done in the eye of a needle, poppy seed halves or on top of a hairline, visible only through a microscope. A definite must-see in a small but interesting little town.

We had a very nice time here, the owner is friendly and welcoming. As many reviews highlighted, the food is nothing special. Not bad, but not superb either. The lamb soup was nice and the surroundings, the atmosphere sells the place. I wish all the best for the owner, if decide to eat here, I think you won't regret it, but I'm sure you can find better food somewhere around. All in all recommended.

Called in for a quick lunch before going back to Budapest. Didn't check reviews and glad we didn't. This place is worth more than 3.8 stars. Yes it was quiet and language barrier difficult (our fault not theirs) But what a delightful location. Overlooking the Danube and set on shaded stepped patios... perfect. Amazing value too. Lovely freshly home cooked meals. I had the perch and it was amazing. Partner had a simple pasta and tomato basil sauce. Dessert was yummy too... A chocolate souffle with ice cream and Chantilly cream. All washed down with a couple of draught beers for me and rose wine for my wife. Edith, the owner was lovely and showed us around the building and explained it's history and her own life in and around the area. She was very friendly and helpful too. Great food, reasonable prices and fantastic location. A little gem of a find!

We found the environment is pretty nice, we loved the athmosphere. Why the 3 stars? The food is average here, nothing special, not bad and not good. For this value it is expensive. The service also only average, must wait wait wait. What we hate is to fight all the time during lunch against the wasps! It was very annoying! At the end we dindt ask for sweets or coffee, we just wanted to leave. I dont know how other restaurants do with the wasp but this was the first place that they attack us in large groups.

We waited 40 minutes for our food but only got the lemonades. When we went to pay for the lemonades only so we could leave as we didn’t want to wait any more, we were asked why we didn’t remind the waitress (we did, and it shouldn’t be us doing that anyway). Lovely spot but ridiculous wait time.

The best meal in Hungary so far! Everything on the menu sounded delicious. We settled on the slow-smoked beef potato pancakes (great choice). The staff were super-friendly, even giving us a tour after our meal.

Heaven for beer lovers. You can find Hungarian craft beers and also belgion beers in this place. Their food menu is not rich as their beer menu but you may enjoy with pulled beef burgers and ribs...

Extremely nice and cozy place (with teddy bears, obviously, but it's not what makes it cozy), 3 taps and over 100 Hungarian and Belgian bottled beers. Menu is short but very enticing, both slow-cooked cold and pulled-pork pancake were delicious. Welcoming and knowledgeble staff. Proper glassware for various styles and brands!

I received exceptionally kind service at this restaurant. Not only that, but the food and dessert gave me great comfort as a traveler. The chicken paprika I had here was so delicious that it made me forget every other chicken dish I’ve tried elsewhere. I could truly feel the care and dedication put into the food. I experienced an exceptional culinary moment at Teyföl ! The culinary staff (chef, waiters) rendered this moment unforgettable, thank you ! Being born in Hungary myself, I particularly appreciated traditional dishes elegantly revamped. The dishes were more than delicious! The aromas and spices were nicely balanced that added a slight complexity in terms of taste to the original dishes. All of the ingredients used and the beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) were local and made the perfect match with the dishes with the assistance of our kind waitress! The presentation of the dishes was definitely a delight for the eyes (colors and organisation of different ingredients) which definitely enhanced this experience. In sum, I will definitely come back next during my next visit to Szentendre :)

We visited Teyföl in Szentendre last night with my wife and our daughter, and it turned into one of those rare dining experiences you want to relive again and again. The staff deserve special praise - genuinely warm, attentive, and professional, making us feel immediately at ease as a family. The menu is short but inspired: Hungarian classics given a modern, elegant touch. Every dish we tried was memorable, and the drinks from local producers paired beautifully. Teyföl is a true gem on Hungary’s culinary map. We left feeling delighted and grateful, definately will revisit. Absolutely recommended for anyone who values not just great food, but a complete dining experience.

We found a table last minute, which we were very happy about. Many Hungarian dishes are reinvented and presented in a modern and beautiful way, very good! Highly recommend it to anyone in Budapest looking for a little day trip, about 30 minutes from the city.

Lovely riverfront cafe where we had a bite to eat on our day trip. We had a very nice Gambas pilpil with lots of meaty prawns and an accompanying sauce and the camembert salad which was a good sized portion of cheese with lots of seeds etc in the salad for texture. Pina coladas were the best we've had in Hungary so far!

We had a lovely lunch here on our trip to Szentendre. The restaurant itself is in a perfect location, and we were thrilled to get a table on their outdoor terrace. Sitting outside was so pleasant—it’s a really nice, relaxed setting to enjoy a meal and watch the world go by. The food was definitely the highlight. We tried a traditional Hungarian dish and it was delicious, very flavourful and clearly made with care. The portion size was generous and we felt the prices were very reasonable for the quality and the location. The only area for improvement would be with the service. The staff weren't rude by any means, but they were a little brusque and could have been a bit more welcoming and attentive. A warmer attitude would have made the experience perfect. Overall, we had a very nice time and would recommend it for the tasty food and beautiful outdoor seating. We'd happily come back on our next visit to Szentendre!

Cold fruit soap superb. Duck breast with creamy cucumber salad to die for. Cool shady pato by Danube river makes this a special place.

Im writing this not just as a customer but a hospitality professional with 50years experience. Christine Cafe has provided us with a great lunch (the best lunch in two months, according to my wife). Beyond the excellence of the meals, just the sheer professionalism of the waiting staff is very, very impressive. The waiters DEFINE what professional waiting staff should be. We were eating breakfasts and lunches quite a long time here, but never get to review this place somehow. We have a yearly event when we bike up to Pap-rét on Friday after work, and on Saturday morning, going down straight to Christine for a great breakfast. The coffee is perfect, the scrambled eggs are perfect, and the homemade bakery products are off the charts. If you visit Szentendre - no matter for a breakfast, a lunch, or a dinner - stop by, and take a seat at Café Christine!

The food that we ordered here was simple but very well done. There were no vegetarian mains, so we had starters, a salad and sides, however the starters were quite substantial. The deep-fried mushrooms and cheese were light and not at all greasy. The Greek salad was fresh with a tasty dressing. The Somloi Galuska wasn't 100% authentic (there was only plain sponge and no raisins) but it was tasty and there was lots of the chocolate-rum sauce. The staff were very friendly. There's seating outdoors on the square and in a courtyard as well as indoor seating

Location is great with traditional menu. Sadly, that's the best I can say about. The food itself was average and the goulash very watery. Service is dismissive, orders wrong and to top it all there was hair in the chilli dip. Given they tell you up front there is a 13% service charge included in the meal suggest they know you are in for a poor experience. Avoid - much better places to go nearby.

A small museum dedicated to a single artist/craftsman. The 1700 HUF entry ticket bought at other museums will give you free access here also. The artist featured here is Tamas Melkovics, his works being modern experimental sculptural forms. For me I preffered the two other museums I visited today, viz. Kmetty Janos (Paintings) and Margit Kovacs ceramics, but this was on the way back to the station so worth dropping in for 10/15 minutes. They provide free lockers for any bags you have which is useful.

Very interesting archeological elements, staff very friendly, but frustrated because there was any information in English or other language, everything just in Hungarian. So, the overall experience loses their attractiveness.

The whole outside of the church was nicely reconstructed recently. The roof, the paintings, the bell tower and the bell itself. And finally the clock of the tower is showing the corect time again. It was ruined during the second world war, and was broken untill recently.

The largest church in Szentendre was originally built for the Serbian Orthodox community in 1791. Its Serbian name, Ciprovacka Church is still used. The late Baroque style church was used until the Serbian community  emigrated at the beginning of the 20th century, taking with them the equipment and the iconostasis of the church

I like the way Szentendre has so many small museums each one dedicated to just one artist/craftsman. Here you can see a great collection of Margit Kovacs ceramic works. The entry price of 1700 HUF will also give you access to other museums around the town, so make sure you keep the receipt. There's a particular one way circuit around this exhibition. I nearly missed some of it as I couldn't understand Hungarian and the staff couldn't understand English. But with a bit of gesturing, I found the right way around.

What a lovely magical place! I am glad to have discovered the beautiful and strong works of this great ceramic artist. I loved the Madonnas, the mourners, the women, the animals... all in fact 🙂. There is even a space to touch some pieces. Nice ladies in the exhibition explain and show you.

Go and see the fantastic Margit Kovács Ceramics Museum. It is strange to discover an amazing potter from before and during the Communist era here in Hungary. One of her works is a round ceramic 3x3 meter world map with the USSR in the middle. We lived side by side in Europe but each with our own center of the world. Margit Kovác's ceramics are some of the most expressive I have ever seen.

Nice museum. 15-20 minute visit. Ticket price allowed entry to 4-5 other local museums. Overall the collection was nice.

Delicious food. We enjoyed a lovely lunch here with a group of 5. The goulash was SO good. We all really loved it. The fried cheese with jam was also a bit hit. One diner got Goose Livers and was very pleased. They have a vegetarian dish with onions and tomatoes and eggs that is nice. The homemade beer was tasty. I would drink another one! They make chimney cakes to order on the grill on our way out.

A cute homey and children friendly brunch restaurant in the old town. The food variety were good and the taste was decent. Lovely staff and hospitality treatment. The kind lady took specific orders with care and one for the dishes were incorrectly prepared, she took the plate immediately, fixed the issues, apologized and gave some freebies, which was greatly appreciated by my friend. Good hospitality and customer care is quite rare in Hungary, so we were very happy and thrilled this cute spot were welcoming to foreigners and took care of us very well. Super friendly waiter, amazing soup, and the best goulash after trying several in Budapest

We had a delicious lunch here. The restaurant is in a small, but picturesque square where you can sit outside or inside. The service is warm and welcoming and they speak very good English. We ordered Lemonades, Creamy Asparagus Soup, Chicken Soup, Grilled chicken in a Chilli & honey sauce with rice and Spaghetti with Salmon. The food & drinks were very good.

We have just had a fabulous lunch here - absolutely delicious food, friendly and welcoming service from the waitress and great ambience all round. We had the stuffed chicken and pork rolled in bacon, along with the flavoured lemonade, and it was all fabulous! Reasonable prices and real Hungarian cuisine. Highly recommended!

A nice traditional Hungarian spot, which was warm and had friendly staff. Live orchestra band was lovely. Food wasn’t the best and probably more expensive than it should be. Would recommend booking as will get busy, especially as there is not a lot of other places to eat in the town. Very near the famous umbrella picture spot.

Food was good, nothing to comment about that. But i think this is a common problem for Hungary as far as i can see. Hygiene is lacking everywhere i go here. Also, to the prices in the menu they add a 13% percent service tax. At the end the waiter asked us if we want to leave a tip, and i asked him what about the 13% “service tax” and he answered that the 13% goes to the chef. I find this weird and uncommon and overall i wouldnt dine here again.

Please don't waste your time at this restaurant. The service is terrible. They took a long time to bring the food, and one of the dishes wasn't what we ordered because ordered pizza, but they delivered a different one. I was waiting around 30mins to get my meal. The chips very dry and not heat. The red wine beef stew was okay. I don’t understand why so high reviews restaurant but they offer damage plates. my payment is 4114HUF . They charged 1HUF more became 4115HUF. But I was pay by card not pay cash so I feel this is very unreasonable.

We enjoyed the testy Hungarian fish soup while the band was playing beautifully Danube Blue. I showed the musicians their photos 4 years ago when I visited the restaurant the 1st time. I will definitely come back to this restaurant when coming to Szentendre.

Coming to the artist village of Szentendre near Budapest was one of the highlights of our trip. On a very hot day, we had a demonstration of making goulash and then enjoyed goulash lunch. The artwork, food places and even a Christmas shop. I brought Hungarian wooden puzzle box, the artist carved a name on it in front of me. Highly recommended.

A quaint town 20km from Budapest. Easy travel by public transport. Metro M3 to Ujpest-Városkapu and regional bus 880/890 to Szentedre from nearby bus terminal. As others stated good for half a day trip. Small shops, lots of café/restaurants. Few art museum for those interested. The Danube bank linked with nice restaurants - food for a walk and drink.
