Beach
Outdoor Activities
Ayazma Plajı, located 6km southwest of the town on Bozcaada, is a popular and well-developed beach with white sands. It offers various tourist facilities such as toilets, restaurants, and watersports. The beach has sunbeds and four restaurants nearby. Despite being crowded at times, it provides a clean and sandy environment for visitors to enjoy the sea, which is chilly but clean. Additionally, there are regulations in place to ensure safety during the pandemic period.
A very beautiful sandy beach. The umbrellas and sunbathing seats are for free as we came to the beach late. The water was not cold either. This is a wonderful beach to swim and enjoy the summer. There are also water activities on the beach.
Ahmed A — Google review
The sea is perfect and clean, the water is crystal clear, and generally cold, but it's beautiful at the end of July and the beginning of August. There's almost no space for your own umbrella; paid sunbeds are packed tightly all over the beach. It's a 2-kilometer stretch of fine sand and, in my opinion, one of the world's few beaches. Sunbeds and umbrellas are exorbitantly priced, and the showers and restrooms are poorly maintained. There are two or three restaurants along the roadside, and prices are expensive. There's a water sports club at one end of the beach, and the other is the quietest, sunbed-free.
Erdoğan B — Google review
Super clean beach with clear water. There are places to buy food and drink. It's a lovely beach to spend the day on. Nice to be here
Markus H — Google review
A gorgeous beach with fine sand, crystal clear water unfortunately managed by mobsters interested only in taking your umbrella fee and 2 sunbeds worth 300 TL, without offering you minimal comfort. But let's start with the beginning. Today we wanted to visit the island of Bozcaada, having accommodation in Eceabat. We went by ferry Eceabat - Canakkale (155 TL) then we went to the port of Geyikli where we left the car in a parking lot then we took the ferry to the island of Bozcaada (55 TL per person). The ferry ride takes about 30-40 minutes. From the port you can take a minibus to the famous Ayazma beach (30 TL per person) which come quite often. The minibus journey takes about 10-15 minutes. The beach, as mentioned above, is gorgeous, very crowded, turquoise water, fine sand. In the water, the first 15-20 meters deepen smoothly, then it is deeper. What we noticed is that the water was a bit cold for our taste, but we still went in, if we got there. I return to what I said above about the mobsters who manage the beach. The tax for mobsters can also be paid by card. The umbrellas do not provide shade, they are constantly moving and can even hit you, the sunbeds are plastic, many even cracked. So a lot of money is collected without investing anything for the benefit of the customers. Shame about the beach and the beauty of the area.
Soe S — Google review
Nice beach but I don’t think there is any shower on the beach , 70lt for two sun beds and umbrellas. Umbrella is small so bring some clips so you can hang your towels to get extra shade.
Kaushal P — Google review
Sea is chilly but goverment works good in here, for example in this pandemic period you have distance between people also forbidden to smoke, you need to just walk a few steps to special area for smoking, nice people and ofcourse with a Turk hospitality 😊🙏

It is very nice place. There is good entrance to the sea. Not deep. Very clean, there is place for to drink tea or something another. I liked too much.

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Akvaryum Koyu is a small sandy beach known for its vibrant underwater life and clear waters, making it perfect for sunbathing, swimming, boating, diving, and snorkeling. It's a popular spot during the summer months with beaches like Cayir Plaji and Tuzburnu Plaji offering crystalline waters for visitors to enjoy. While amenities are limited, the beach provides a serene setting surrounded by cliffs and marine life.
A beautiful cove with no private businesses, billboards, music, sunbeds, or other commercial activities that turn beaches into marketplaces. The sea is truly like an aquarium, full of fish. Where there are many people, nature disappears, and hopefully, this won’t happen to Aquarium Cove. I hope people take care of all the coves on the island. The water is really clean; it’s a wonderful cove.
Osman G — Google review
Think this was my favorite beach on the island , despite the crowds. We set ourselves up on the cliffs between both waters but we realised as we were Leaving that while the beach to the left was packed with people, to the right it was practically empty with only one couple sitting there. Almost no amenities at the beach so bring your own everything. The water is crystal clear and there was so much marine life in the rocks along the water. Highly recommend beach shoes and beware of the drive down as. You do risk scraping your car (we rented an SUV from town and so glad we did but if we didn’t I’d park closest to the road and walk the 15 minutes down rather than risking it).
Rebecca S — Google review
Great place Small sandy beach but the water is very clean
Amani B — Google review
Bay is clean but freezing. There are no sunbeds or umbrellas. You have to bring your own things. The path that goes down to the bay is terrible. I prefer parking your car before entering that path (not at half the way like some idiots do and make it impossible for you to pass). We saw a few jellyfish but they were OK. There is a parked boat selling food and drinks. We didn't buy anything so I can't comment on that.
Neyyire G — Google review
Cool spot for a dive and snorkeling! Water is a bit cold otherways it is worth visiting if you like the underwater show.

A cute little beach in the South of the island. Rather cold and very salty sea, but extremely refreshing. Beware of sea urchins among moss-covered rocks in the sea towards the little peninsula.

Mediterranean restaurant
Nevreste Bozcaada is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience on the island. The establishment is known for its fresh and high-quality seafood, as well as an array of delectable meze and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Visitors can enjoy their meals under the iconic yediveren rose tree, adding to the unique ambiance of the place. Nevreste also provides a picturesque setting for breakfast with stunning views of the island's landscape.
We stayed in Bozcaada for 3 days. And 2 nights out of 3 we had the chance to eat at Nevreste. We are living in Asia and my wife and daughter is Asian. We had the most delightfull dinners in Turkiye here in Nevreste. The appetizers are out of this world. Made with very fresh and premium ingredient. The tastes are on spot. We fall in love with Bozcaada Bomb especially , a unique appetizer special to Nevreste. First night we had deep fried Dulger fish and second night we had steamed seabass with tomato and herbs. Both of them was extremely tasty and well cooked. The place is very clean , the atmosphere is great and the staff are all great. I can say we had the best experience in our Turkey trip. The owners are also very friendly and attentive. Everything was top notch. Highly recommended.

I had a dinner at Nevreste and it Amazing all around. Atmosphere, food service and decor. These guys know what they’re doing. Was a great experience. From the cold mezes Vişneli sarma , girit ezme , nevreste marin , isli midye were very tasty From hot dishes ada lokumu , kalamar dolma , levrek simit were delicious

In my 46 years, I’ve savored many delights, but nothing beats the deliciousness and charm of Nevreste. Wow, what an experience! This warm and welcoming spot, which I’ve heard so much about, has now become my favorite memory of Bozcaada. The wonderful people, professional service, spotless cleanliness, groovy Turkish music, and incredible flavors made it truly special. The appetizers were amazing: sour cherry wrapped vine leaves, stuffed zucchini flowers, Selanik meze, herbed cheese, fava, island tzatziki, date artichokes, smoked mussels; and the hot starters like island delight, levrek roasted, saganaki cheese were just perfect. The main course of grilled sea bass and the volcanic dessert left me in awe. When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I said to my spouse was, “Those appetizers were incredible….Good morning by the way!” We left our hearts and taste buds at Nevreste. Thank you for everything, Nevreste! We’ll definitely be back again and again. Plus, the music was lovely, the place was super clean, and the prices were just right.

There are many attractive little restaurants on Bozcaada, but Nevreste was the best. The lovely owner-Aynur-speaks English and gave us a personal tour of the Mezze display. She and her family’s warmth and amazing fresh handmade local delicacies made it easy to spend two hours there! And try the local wine!

We had a lovely time at Nevreste. Great service, they took very good care of us. We’ve got advised on the different food there, which was really really delicious. I’ve tried food there I have never tried before and all of it was tasty. Also great and very vivid ambience.

Had a rakı night here, all the food was very delicious, staff were friendly and explained everything really well. The quality of food and drinks is exceptional, plus the atmosphere was superb, music was not too loud, and the place looks lovely!

Nevreste was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time. The highlight was the mezzes, which were creative and diverse. The shrimp and the octopus were both so fresh. The atmosphere is sophisticated but fun, and their street is an amazing place to people watch. It is the perfect choice for a dinner out in Bozcaada

Lighthouses
Polente Feneri, also known as the Lighthouse, is a popular spot on the western side of Bozcaada for watching breathtaking sunsets. To secure a good viewing spot during peak tourist season, it's advisable to arrive well before sunset and stay after. Visitors can park their cars at the road's end and take a 20-minute hike to reach the lighthouse. The area tends to get crowded, so bringing your own chairs, tables, drinks, and food is recommended.
My favourite sunset in the region. You can park your car where the road ends, and hike to the lighthouse. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the lighthouse. You can take great pictures of the cliffs, wind turbines, the light house, ruins, and the sunset. To enjoy the view, don't forget to bring drinks and a camping chair if possible!
Eren K — Google review
You can’t leave Bozcaada without the sunset experience. Bring your own food and beers. Cheers!
Riccardo B — Google review
This place is gorgeous! Absolutely beautiful and likely the best spot for a sunset view. HOWEVER if it is peak tourist season and you’re planning to drive here.. you better get here well before sunset and stay well after the sun sets. We arrived here around one hour before sunset. The parking spots were slightly starting to fill up and many people had set up their tables along the cliff (pro tip: definitely bring some tables, chairs, drinks as there are zero amenities). We walked to the lighthouse and back but by the time we got back to the car right around sunset there were hundreds of cars advancing in a single lane going nowhere as there was nowhere to park. We hightailed it out of there and felt bad for the people at the end of the line who were bound to be stuck in traffic for the sunset. So if you want that perfect sunset shot, consider timing it right to stay longer, renting an ATV or motorbike for easier parking, or arranging for a taxi to drop you off and pick you back up. Or if you don’t want all the tourists and crowd just enjoy it from Ayazma Beach like we did.

Why has everyone crowded into this place when there are so many beautiful coves on this island? It’s way too crowded and noisy. There are much nicer coves around the island.
Johnny M — Google review
The entry is 400 TRY for only a beach chair and no other services included. The service feels forced as well, doesnt have an atmosphere of hospitality. Most average beach I’ve been to in my life with the most laughable prices. I’d skip 🙏🏼
Buket D — Google review
It’s currently 200 TRY per person. The price doesn’t include any expenses. We have been told that they don’t serve breakfast after 11 am (they open the facility at 10 am so you only have one hour to get a proper breakfast while they are also requiring customers to be present before 12 to keep their place) They also don’t serve Turkish tea until 5 pm—don’t ask me, I don’t have any idea why. Coffee machines were broken, so no coffees as well. When we asked to get ice and glasses for the waters (that we paid for), we have been told that their ice machine is also broken and ice is limited — and ‘it’s an island’ so we shouldn’t expect more (?!) The last thing is that THERE IS NO WIFI. The year is 2022 and I can even get connected using my own data. So there is no excuse when you charge 200 TRY from the customers and you don’t have sufficient service and facilities.
Reha Ç — Google review
I haven’t seen such a service without minimum professionalism with these given prices. We didn’t like mojitos at all but we’ve been “refused” to give them back or at least change them with something else. We asked to talk with a manager and again, guess what, he didn’t even bother himself to come and ask if he can help with something, instead he told the waiter guy that he is busy. I’ve ordered a salad but of course the same thing happened, salad was not the same as in the menu. We’ve been charged for everything even though we didn’t like them at all. Horrible business in such an amazing bay!
Melissa A — Google review
Very unprofessional. One of the workers was very rude to me and my family, and the owner was OK with this. I did not go thru calling the police/jandarma as it was our only day at the island. This kind of service does not reflect Bozcada. I am very disappointed. I think it is called Habbele beach.

The drinks arrived 20+ minutes later, 2 cocktails were missing, 2 orders were incorrect (tonic instead of soda, which is acceptable), and all the drinks were in plastic glasses!!! Cocktails may be acceptable, but I've never seen a place serve Scottish or Irish drinks in plastic glasses. When we asked why, we were told they didn't have glasses because it was the end of the season! The atmosphere is nice, the DJ is very good ❤️‍🔥The DJ deserves most of the EXORBITANT money you pay for cocktails that taste normal 😃 They didn't serve beer in the place, so those who say they can only pay that much for a cocktail should do their marketing inside 🙊😂 (Original) Mekana akşam güzel müzikleri duyup girdik. atmosferi güzel Dj çok iii ❤️‍🔥lezzeti normal olan kokteylere aldığınız FAHİŞ paranın cogunu dj hakediyor 😃 mekana bira koymamislsr ki sadece bi kokteyle o parayı verebiliyorum diyenler içerde piyasa yapsın 🙊😂

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming locale of Bozcaada, Thenes Restoran draws its name from Themis, the Greek goddess symbolizing fairness and balance. This enchanting eatery embraces the essence of nature with a menu that evolves with the seasons, offering diners a delightful array of fresh and flavorful dishes. Guests rave about their experiences here, highlighting an impressive selection of both meat and fish options alongside traditional mezes that tantalize the taste buds.
We just had the best gözleme in the island. Wow cheesy gözleme with local herb (pazi) was delicious. This restaurant has got a great view. We also ordered breakfast for one person. A delicious selection of food and a huge portion. The owner is very friendly and attentive . My family totally satisfied with the service. Definitely we will be back when we are in the ayazma.

This restaurant deserves five stats. We have tried grilled octopus, fish kokoreç, stuffed zucchini, and some other mezes. They were amazing. Mr. Bülent was really kind, helpful, and polite. The atmosphere is also nice, it is really convenient since it is close to the Ayazma beach. However, it may be improved such as it is just next to the road and cars pass closely (maybe nothing to do), the toilets could have been cleaner and bigger, as well as the shower/changing area. I think that taking shower should be free for customers if they show the bill. They can have a system for this. It is currently 40 Liras.

We frequented this family owned and operated restaurant several times. The owners provide top notch service to each and every customer. They go above and beyond to make you feel appreciated, comfortable and meet your culinary needs. The views of ayazma beach are stunning throughout the day and when the sun sets. It’s immaculately clean and the service is spectacular. The food was some of the best seafood I have eaten in my life. The calamari was the best I ever ate. They have a wide variety of appetizers, main courses and beverages. They are the warmest restaurant owners who seek to help you with all their heart. You will truly enjoy yourselves if you come to dine here. If I could give it higher than five stars I would.

Despite this being a very touristy spot, due to it being one of three restaurants by one of the most popular beaches, we found the service here was so great and the owner so friendly that it’s my biggest recommendation for the area. Prices are slightly higher than average but that is to be expected considering the location. We got a grilled fish which was so fresh and so tasty, along with Calamari. Personally found the gozleme a bit bland so recommend sticking to the seafood. Overall this is your perfect spot to a drink and grab something light to eat when you’re in the area.

Thenes name of this restaurant comes from Themis, a goddess in Greek mythology who stood for fairness, balance, and the natural flow of life. She was also the mother of the Horae, goddesses of the seasons. That makes the name perfect for a restaurant where the menu and atmosphere change with the seasons. It’s a place where you can enjoy fresh, seasonal food in a setting that feels calm and in tune with nature. Glad to be well served by the host and his nephew Bekir😊 Cem and B

Great local food, tasty and fresh. Just a bit pricy if compared to other options, as it is on the beach. Very much recommended!

The service was amazing!! I had gözleme and a fish sandwich. I don’t remember what the people I was with got (maybe a meatball?) but one of them said it was the best he had ever! I had to take my food to go and the servers were super receptive and packed it up for me!!!

Outstanding Experience at Theres Restaurant – A Must-Visit in Bozcaada This was my first time visiting Bozcaada, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure which restaurants to choose, so I relied on recommendations from the locals. We stayed for seven days and tried a different restaurant each day. Out of all of them, Theres Restaurant was by far the best. The food was absolutely delicious. I tried both their meat and fish dishes, along with the traditional mezes, and everything was exceptional. Each dish was prepared with great care and full of flavor. What truly set the experience apart was the staff. Their warm, friendly, and professional attitude is something you rarely encounter these days. They made us feel genuinely welcome. As for the prices — I found them very reasonable and well worth it, especially considering the quality of both the food and service. If you ever find yourself in Bozcaada, I highly recommend visiting Theres Restaurant. You dedinitely wont regret it

Tayyare Pizza

Restaurant
Tayyare Pizza is a unique eatery adorned with aircraft components. They offer a variety of pizzas including Turkish-style with pastrami and pepperoni, tuna, and ricotta cheese. While these pizzas are delicious, they lack the distinctiveness of deep-dish or New York style options. The thin crust medium-sized pizzas may or may not be filling for one person. Despite this, the unexpected location and excellent quality warrant a five-star rating instead of four.
Pizzas are delicious with affordable price. I wasn't expected to eat local pizza in Bozcaada. It was very nice with the local wine.
Sinan A — Google review
Great quality pizza in such an unexpected location makes it a 5 star instead of 4 I guess. Quick enough service, good back terrace looking ay an olive tree field. Bring mosquito repellents!
Cengizhan A — Google review
They sell beer and wine but they don't have a bathroom!!! They tell you to use the batrooms in the gas station next to the pizzeria. The gas station says that bathrooms are not working. Not acceptable in my standards. :(
Utkan C — Google review
The pizza shop is designed with airplane pieces in it. We have had 3 different types of pizza here. Turkish style pizza with pastrami and pepperoni in it, pizza with tuna, pizza with ricotto cheese in it. They are delicious but nothing special. You can’t find a deep dish or New York style pizza here. Just simple thin crust medium sized pizza that may or may not make 1 people full.

Pizzas are thin, integridents fresh. Wines ....yes. Easy parking. Should go and eat on island..one of the must. Prices ok.No worries
Said K — Google review
Best pizzas in the island. Traditional action is a take away from here before the sunset watching activity.
Hasan Y — Google review
The best pizza I have ever ate was at this place I totally recommend that you visit this restaurant while you are at the island NOT: not open in winter and spring
Can G — Google review
Amazing taste. Call them on your way to sunset sightseeing. Take your pizza, ride away to the sun and enjoy the sunset.
