Beaches
Platja de l'Ampolla is a well-known beach in Moraira, featuring small sandy shores and suntrap rocks perfect for tanning. The beach offers clear, warm waters and easy accessibility with amenities like a bar/restaurant and nearby toilets. Visitors can enjoy the beach year-round for activities like sunbathing, snorkeling in the crystal-clear water, or simply relaxing while taking in the lovely views.
WE WERE HERE IN February, not crowded.nice and calming beach next to the great restaurants and cafés.
Varvara N — Google review
Good spot for families as there is a big available terrace with shade. Prices are ok food and drinks acceptable. On the weekends it's obviously super crowded so parking becomes an issue, you need some patience. Water is ok the clean side despite the people. (August) I've visited this place on late September and is much nicer 👆
Angelos B — Google review
Excellent Beach Lots of shops and boutiques around and cafes & restaurants, the Ampolla Beach is a real nice location. We enjoyed coming here with the family! The beach is actually not that crowded so was a great day out for us.
Paul V — Google review
Fantastic beach. Especially the first days of October. There are only a few people, the weather is warm and the water is comfortable.
Vadym I — Google review
Its a good enough beach. Since there are not many alternatives it can get quite full. There are no showers as far as I can recall, only some taps to clean your feat. The water is quite nice there, though!
Starfrighter — Google review
Geat beach with many facilities: chair and sunscreen rental, food and drinks, first aid, disabled facilities, life guards, parking, etc... really well-maintained. I would give it 5 stars but the arrival of Dutch fast food that can be ordered by phone to the beach, has reduced the traditional, local atmosphere.
Robert B — Google review
Love it... But don't tell anybody!.. Pine tree parking, great cafe, safe sandy beach, nice waves on a windy day, quick walk into town,

Live music bar

When you're on vacation, stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to unforgettable experiences. One such gem is Saxo Disco Garden in Moraira, a vibrant spot that combines a chill-out garden with an outdoor terrace and live music. This venue stands out as the town's closest alternative to a traditional nightclub, offering a more laid-back atmosphere compared to the bustling Costa Sur. At Saxo, you can enjoy lively dance floors alongside cozy patio seating while indulging in refreshing drinks served right at your table.
Great live music venue and bar! Attentive servers. Ex pat owned/customers. We visited twice during our stay in Altea. Dog friendly! Free entry and the drink prices reflect that. Burger truck outside. Parking opposite. Cosy blankets and heaters in winter. Double gig on the weekend! Will be back again!
Catherine G — Google review
Live music! Good drinks and friends. Keep an eye out for the various events they have. Ample parking around the back. It does get BUSY so plan to wait a bit to get your drink or (simple) food order. Bitterballen with Mustard pictures.
Ronald G — Google review
Local music bar with great music. Live music daily and good atmosphere. Drinks reasonable. Environment great. Outside tables and relaxing. Easy to access.
Stephen G — Google review
Called in advance to make a reservation, but was told we could just come, no reservation needed. When we arrived it was packed and no place. Too bad, because in Moraira there is enough to visit. A second visit therefore did not happen. A shame, because it looked very cozy
Joel E — Google review
Nice place for early evening entertainment. Outside but plenty patio heaters around. Just had some chips shared among us which were OK but didn't eat. Bottle of red wine a little pricey at 20 but decent stuff
Stuart A — Google review
Saxo is very popular & a great place to enjoy live music from a selection of very good artists. No entrance fee, drinks are reasonably priced and the wait staff are very attentive. A nice relaxed & chilled out ambience. Plenty of sesting however does get very busy. A Burger bar on site and the food is sooo tasty. Plenty of free parking in the adjacent car park. Good times to be had no matter how big your party is. Enjoy🍾🍷🍺🍹🎼🎶🎤🎸🥁 ...also night club.
Barry D — Google review
Absolutely appalled by our experience at Saxo in Moraira. While we were cleaning up a small drink my 5-year-old son accidentally spilt, the waitress came over and took his chair away to give to another table. When we told her it was our son’s chair, she coldly replied, “Unfortunately he’s not sat in it.” I went to complain, and instead of handling the situation professionally, she got right in my face and started shouting. Other customers sitting nearby were shocked by what was happening. My son was left in tears. On top of that, they forgot two of our drinks, never apologised once, and showed zero care for basic customer service. By far the worst bar in Jávea – unprofessional, rude, and upsetting for a family. Stay well away.

Castle
Sights & Landmarks
Castillo de Moraira, also known as the fortress of Moraira, is an 18th-century stone fortress that was originally built to protect the coast from Berber pirates. Today, it stands as one of the most important attractions in the resort town. Visitors can enjoy a stunning view of the harbor and beach from this historical site. The castle offers insights into the history of pirate attacks in Moraira through talks and informative films available at the tourist office.
Fantastic area, nice beach, lots of yachts floating in the distance, with the backdrop of beautiful villas on the hill. Lots of people on the beach though, parking is a problem. And it’s only the beginning of June.
Joyce Z — Google review
Worth visiting if your in the town. Free to get in, you don't need long to ponder the displays, but very informative. Nive views from the staired windows.

Fantastic Castle This is a really nice location in the town centre. You can view the castle have a little stroll around and go and eat in one of the local restaurants. The castle is beautiful and worth perusing although it is quite small. Still worth it!

A great talk about the Pirates in and around Moraira in the XVIII century. Finishing with a short video of the history of the Castle in Moraira. The Tourist Office in Moraira has plenty of talks to enjoy this summer in the area.

Bar & grill
I had a delightful dinner at El Castillo Beach Bar. This restaurant, situated on the beach, offers a simple yet comfortable setting with people bustling around. The seafood was exceptional, with incredibly fresh octopus and equally delicious calamari. The chipirones were some of the finest in the area, complemented by delectable homemade alioli. Their selection of white wines was very impressive. The attentive and helpful staff added to the overall experience.
The beach bar is a gem hiding in plain sight. If you want a well cooked, no nonsense breakfast or lunch, served quickly, then just go here. They're set up for quick service and do most tapas/grills/burgers really well, coffee is also good. I mean for what it is, it works brilliantly. The sit down restaurant on the other side does quite good food but I felt it was slightly pricey.
Ben S — Google review
A really nice view over the beach and ocean, we got our drinks really fast for a fair price and we got to sit and relax with good music in the shade.
Emma M — Google review
Nice place to eat and have a drink / cocktail. Next to the beach. Reasonable prices. Self service. Friendly staff. Update: 2 years later... still a good place to have a drink and something to eat. Kids can play on the beach, you can relax and watch the kids. Parking very close.
Ben V — Google review
We had a very nice dinner at this place. It is a restaurant on the beach, so there are people around you and the setting is simple and yet comfortable. We had excellent seafood - the octopus was super fresh and calamary were equally good. Chipirones were one of the best I have had in the area. Alioli was home made and very tasty. Very good white wines. The staff is present and helpful.

Fish & chips restaurant
Fishy Fishy is a popular fish and chips restaurant and takeaway located in Moraira. The establishment offers a wide variety of traditional fish and chips as well as other popular dishes. Visitors have praised the fantastic quality of the fish and chips, with some even claiming it to be the best they've ever had. The crispy, flaky batter and fresh, moist fish have been highlighted as particularly outstanding. Additionally, the restaurant is noted for its gluten-free options and dog-friendly atmosphere.
We fancied some traditional British fish and chips, so came here for a meal. The cafe warm and welcoming. Everything was very clean. The waitress was really pleasant and helpful. As for the food, it was brilliant. You would not find any better fish and chips anywhere. Even the tartar sauce is home made. They also make their own pies, the steak and Guinness pie sounded good. A good choice of vegetarian options too. Plus puddings like sticky toffee pudding and custard, apple pie, syrup sponge pudding. Everything was top quality.
Elizabeth J — Google review
My wife and I went to Fishy Fishy today for lunch. It was outstanding!.. the Fish Chips and Peas were the best we have had. We sat in the garden terrace, it was clean, comfortable, and the staff were professional, pleasant and the service was quick. All this on its busiest day of the week. Very impressed, we will certainly be going again. A credit to you all..

A very lovely restaurant and great food. The staff very friendly.. We were served by Ava who looked after us and nothing was any trouble.. The cod and chips were amazing and would definitely recommend.. Thanks all and hope to return before our holiday finishes... Derek, Cheryl & Harry Lee

While touring Costa Blanca on behalf of The Chippy Tour, I’d heard a lot of good things about Fishy Fishy, so I made sure to include it in my visit — and I was so glad I did. There is a huge free car park just across the road, between Fishy Fishy and the beach, so no problem there. The shop is well-organised and has a very traditional chip shop feel, with the added option to dine undercover outside. The shop was spotlessly clean and tidy, and the staff were pleasant, polite, and helpful. The food was delicious. The hake was encased in a light, crispy beer batter, with the flesh almost rattling around inside, not stuck to the sides. The cod was also delightful, again in that tasty batter. It was a large portion and quite thick. The chips were light in colour, crispy in places, with a nice, slightly firm texture. The in-house coleslaw had plenty of crisp, fresh strips, without being overpowered by too much mayonnaise. The mushy peas were just as I like them — thick and plentiful. There is a trick to creating a great battered sausage, and although this one was quite firm, it had the texture and taste of a quality sausage, with the batter holding on perfectly. Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Beer batter and twice cooked chips. Excellent service. Highly recommended x
Caroline C — Google review
We arrived without a reservation around 6:30pm and they managed to squeeze us in. This is a very popular restaurant and they appeared almost fully booked. The service was excellent, the server (Nikki) guided us through the menu answering some questions and she also made some recommendations. It felt natural and done because she genuinely cared. All the food was superb although I would have preferred my chips a little crispier. The curry sauce is AMAZING and I've eaten a lot of curry sauce in my life :) Puddings were recommended and duly ordered. A drinks top up was also offered. We loved how the waitress engaged with our daughter too. Overall, a classic fish and chip restaurant and takeaway but with great table service.

Always amazing freshly fried fish n chips! Service spot on, hits all the right spots every time 🍻

36'c and I'm sat eating fish n chips!!!! WTH!!!... Let me explain... This wasn't our first choice, we were going to a highly reviewed grill restaurant in Benitachell, unfortunately not checking before we left, meant that we pulled up to find it closed🥴 On a whim my wife suggested Fishy fishy in Moriara... Having visited once before a few years ago, I just about remembered a pleasant meal under a canopy... Plenty of parking saw us pull up just outside in a blue zone space... (Sensible price unlike the UK) Greeted with a smile we were offered various tables and took a suggestion outside under a sun shade. Not rushed at all...just highly organised, our drinks and food were served up within 5 mins presenting differing portion sizes( I went large!!) of classic beer battered fish n chips(twice fried! 😉). The batter was 'melt in the mouth' light and our choice of haddock was as fresh as you could hope for! White, flakey and oh sooo tasty!! Proper chips! all served with a wedge of lemon and a pot of tartar sauce!! You really couldn't ask for more. P.S. that's a 13" dinner plate on the photo!! Our waitress was great! Personable and attentive without being over bearing. Needless to say... We didn't plate up any dinner that evening!!

Nestled right across from the historic Moraira Castle, El Cafeti de la Mar is a charming cafe-bistro that offers stunning views and a delightful dining experience. Open throughout the day, it serves an array of options including fresh salads, hearty sandwiches, and delectable pastries for lunch. As evening falls, guests can indulge in a carefully curated dinner menu. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, often filled with locals from the Netherlands and Belgium enjoying their meals on the cozy terrace.
Came for breakfast this morning. Lovely setting great service. Prices maybe a little high for the crepes. But the salmon eggs benedict were lovely. Recommend and would return

Had a great lunch here. Food was delicious and well presented by friendly servers. Good coffee too. Plenty of room for our spaniel to lie down. I felt sorry for the staff as there were very noises roadworks going on at the time. Eventually the road works stopped as the workers went to lunch. It didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Can thoroughly recommend.

We went this morning for a breakfast and it was amazing! Food was hot, cooked very well and the staff are great. I had a small English breakfast deal and you can either have it with a coffee or tea and an orange juice too. You get a wee biscuit with your tea/coffee too. This deal was perfect for me as I like having both a hot drink and a cold drink in the morning when I eat. Food was brought out super quick along with condiments. My auntie had the vegan option which looked delicious too. Our total came to around 23€ which we thought was great. Muchas Gracias 🇪🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

AMANTES DE MORAIRA is a charming restaurant located right on the seafront, offering stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. It's the perfect place to unwind and savor a beautiful sunset with a refreshing cocktail or champagne while indulging in delicious fresh fish from Moraira. The sun-drenched terrace provides an unbeatable setting for a leisurely lunch with impeccable seafood and attentive staff. In the evening, it becomes an unbeatable spot for a romantic night out.
Absolutely awesome restaurant. Very highly recommend. It's not cheap, but it's worth it! Great fresh seafood, especially recommend sea urchins. Very cozy and romantic atmosphere. Super nice service.
Maciej M — Google review
We came to this restaurant with our kids. The view is beautiful. The hall is very large with many tables, but only three were occupied. We looked at the menu and the prices were extremely high. We ordered drinks for everyone and decided not to have dinner here. We told the waiter about this. After that, the administrator named Oran came to us and said he found it “not normal” to only drink in their restaurant after reserving a table. I calmly explained that the place was simply too expensive for us. His response was that we should have checked the menu online beforehand. The administrator was very rude and unpleasant. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone!

Exceptional hospitality and the perfect restaurant for a special occasion. We haven’t been let down by the food any time— probably the best paella in Moraira! The sommelier is very helpful, and the whole team are generous & hospitable.

Ros A — Google review
Very nice restaurant with excellent view on the sea. Fond is perfect as well as wine and champagne. Staff is a bit not professional for this kind of restaurant (chewing gum, openning of bottles, no Smile, ...).
Petr J — Google review
The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, our experience did not match this. On arrival there was heavy rain and having booked an outside space we were told that we had to wait until they had dried our table, this took over 30 minutes. Whilst our group of 8 including young children and elderly relatives were made to stand waiting we saw staff leading customers who arrived after us to tables, which we could clearly have been given. After eventually being led to our seats, the one and only course we ordered did not arrive for over an hour. The chickpea curry was cold and the paella was decidedly average, it was dry and the portion was small, this was a dish supposedly for 2 people! We felt that we were ignored throughout the evening and left to our own devices, our food only arrived after prompting staff for a third time. After raising our disappointment with the manager we found him to be rude, arrogant, abrupt and dismissive of our concerns. We have eaten at several restaurants in Moraira during our stay at various price points and can honestly say that this worst restaurant of our holiday. It is over priced, serving average food at best with very poor service. In summary over priced, average food and very rude management. We would not recommend.
Simon L — Google review
The restaurant has a beautiful setting with great potential, but unfortunately our dining experience didn’t match the surroundings. The food was extremely overpriced for the quality, and service was very slow. We waited an unusually long time for our mains and had to approach staff ourselves to be attended to. We were also surprised to find an additional charge for bread we hadn’t ordered or been informed about. When we raised this with the manager, his response was very rude and dismissive and we were simply told “this is standard practice for the area”. With better service, better management, and improved food quality, this could truly be an outstanding place so the experience was very disappointing.
