El Bufadero de La Garita in Gran Canaria is a fascinating coastal spot located in the Telde municipality. It features basalt cliffs, volcanic tubes, and a natural pool that occasionally shoots water like a geyser due to tides and waves pushing through the rocks. The area offers a scenic walking path along the coast with opportunities to observe lizards and enjoy views of colorful local houses on the hillside.
Such a beautiful sight but it was extremely windy when we went so don’t wear a hat hahah. Highly recommend visiting.
Flóra M — Google review
The whale spout of water is very difficult to predict. Very neat when it happens. We were there for about an hour and it maybe occured 7 times on a large scale. Depends on the tides and time. Signage for the area is limited as is viewing of the area if you are mobility impaired etc as it does require crossing some dangerous spots if you want an up close look and listen. Area and walking path have been significantly upgraded and cleaned since the last time we came to make witness. Nearest public toilets that may be open are 30 min walk towards the beach of La Garrita to the North or the beach of Pozo to south.
Hello H — Google review
There's a large parking lot right next to it and the hole is easily reachable on the beach, you can get quite close to it. The water has an amazing shade of blue, its best to visit during the high tide. There's also a smaller hole right on the left of it with an even more dramatic effect. Also pay attention to the crabs on the rock, some are quite massive and a beautiful red color.
Spela K — Google review
If you are in the way don’t lose your chance to have a break to see this place is amazing but not for all day jest couple hours . Big plus you have free parking

Stunning location for sunrise! Absolutely mesmerising with the waves crashing into the naturally formed depths of caves. Super accessible for all ages with a great open free parking space very near. Highly recommend a visit at any time of the day, especially for sunrise!

El Bufadero is 100% worth visiting while on the island. We stayed around the corner from it in La Garita. Here are some of the photos I took. No tickets required. Just be careful on the Rock's. Some are sharp.

Very suggestive place especially went the see is choppy, it is amazing to see the hole filling with water showing what a great force of nature water is. Be careful tho you don’t want to end up in it ☺️

Playa de la Garita is a picturesque beach with crystal-clear waters and a pristine shoreline. It offers a tranquil atmosphere, as it is not crowded and provides easy access to nearby restaurants and amenities. The coastal volcanic landscape, including the famous "el bufadero," adds to its allure. This beach serves as an idyllic getaway from the city, offering a peaceful environment for relaxation.
A beautiful part of the world to visit. It was warm for January it was mostly 24-26c . The El Bufadero is WELL worth a visit in la Garita. We walked along the seafront path all the way to Playa de Melenara. It was a nice long walk in the sunshine.
Cara C — Google review
Only one tiny public toilet for the whole large beach area. Signage very limited in regards to where the toilet is. Sidewalks disconnected in areas requiring walking past park vehicles on road traffic roadways to approach beach area. Cigarettes and garbage scattered in many areas and no visible cleaners or maintenance workers seen. Lifeguards present however they say it is not their job to collect trash or clean toilets.
Hello H — Google review
It’s a very calm beach near to Las Palmas, has a great way walk in front sea. It’s a good place to stay if you want to disconnect from city, you got a big Alcampo supermarket and Ikea at only 10 min in car

Great small beach with clean bins, with a platform for either people with mobility issues or a buggy, showers & lifeguards. Children's playpark stone throw away and a local ice cream shop is amazing. Restaurant
Nestled in the charming municipality of Telde, Restaurante La Tunera is a hidden gem that showcases the rich culinary heritage of Gran Canaria. This delightful eatery offers a menu brimming with innovative dishes that highlight local ingredients, such as Temisas olive oil and Atlantic sea salt. Diners rave about the exceptional service, where even the chef takes time to explain each dish personally.
I would give more stars if I could. This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. The food was phenomenal with great attention to detail. All the flavours blended so perfectly. My Spanish is not as good as I would like it to be but they took the time to explain everything in English. It was amazing. I especially loved the potato marmelade and the special gofio dessert. A truly wonderful and perfect experience.

This restaurant is highly recommended! The waiter, Nuno, is very charming. He explains the menu (in English) clearly and precisely, and gives excellent recommendations. We even went back a second time because we enjoyed it so much. Compliments to the chef—and definitely to Nuno! 😉
Patricia B — Google review
We went to the small town of Telde in an attempt to find authentic food from the Canary Islands. The restaurant La Tunera looked promising, so we were ready when they opened at 8 pm. We were welcomed by Nuño, who turned out to be a pleasant and skilled waiter. He guided us through the menu, and made recommendations on how we should put together our meal. We ended up sharing a bread serving, fried cheese with cactus jam, sweet potato waffle, tacos and pulled Canarian pork. Everything was as expected and more. The bread was served with a fantastic potato jam. The cheese, which was shaped like little donuts, was soft and tasty with the cactus jam, and the sweet potato waffle was served with ajoli and "brava sauce", and reminded us of a creative and good version of patatas bravas. All in all, it may not have been the authentic food we got, but more of a creative and tasty play with local ingredients. This was a really nice experience, and with a bill of around 60 euros I would say it is a place that really gives value for money.

Delicious food, great service - including the cook explaining the dishes. I especially enjoyed the tacos and the potatoes with chocolate mojo - and the pumpkin ice cream dessert. I am glad we booked a table in advance, otherwise we would not have gotten the chance to eat at this great restaurant!

Discriminating against parents… We are on vacation in GC on a bi-yearly basis. Every time, we visit La Tunera because we like the food. This year we are travelling with our 1 year old twins. We wanted to have lunch at 3pm, the staff offered me a table of the many free ones that were obviously available. When my wife showed up in the door with the twins, suddenly everything was reserved… If you don‘t want kids, make it an adults only establishment, but don‘t lie to long time customers.

A nice basilica and plaza. Unfortunately it was closed when we arrived. The municipal office recommended a walk to Ermita San Francisco nearby. Highly recommended!
Mwikman2009 — Google review
I was in church for the second time, but I am sure that it was the last time. Yesterday I walked towards the church and went inside to pray. I sat down in one of the last rows and wanted to pray for a few minutes with my head bowed and my eyes closed. But unfortunately, a rude gentleman stopped next to me and told me three times to close the church. I can honestly say that I have never seen such rude behavior. If you do not understand why a person sits there with her head bowed, her eyes closed and her hands clasped in prayer, please do not be a member of the church community. I had to stop praying for a few minutes, just so that the young man with glasses could sit with his friends in the cafe next to the church a few minutes later. While the holy father was talking to a young family outside.

Bandama Caldera, located in Gran Canaria, is a remarkable natural wonder formed around 5,000 years ago by a powerful volcanic eruption. This circular crater spans about 1 kilometer in width and plunges over 200 meters deep. Visitors can embark on an off-the-beaten-path adventure by hiking along the rim to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and Las Palmas city.
Visiting the Caldera de Bandama is more than just a scenic walk—it's a journey to clear your mind and reconnect with nature. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking for a peaceful spot to reflect, Bandama will surprise and refresh you. A Peaceful Connection with Nature. !!!The trail around the Caldera de Bandama is quite rocky and can get slippery, especially when you're descending or climbing.!!!
Teodora F — Google review
A dramatic volcanic crater not far from Las Palmas. Caldera de Bandama is around 1 km wide and 200 metres deep. You can walk along the rim for panoramic views or take the steeper path down into the crater for a closer look at the terrain. The rim trail is the easier option, uneven in parts, but manageable with decent shoes. The descent into the crater is tougher and best avoided in midday heat. There’s a small viewing platform nearby (Mirador de Bandama), and you can drive right up to it. Good spot for photos and learning a bit of local geology.
Patrik K — Google review
Be sure to add this location to a list when planning a sightseeing of island's mountains. It's not a caldera, it is explosion site, which makes it even more exciting to see and photos does not convey the massiveness of the place.
Stanislav T — Google review
Fantastic views! There is a point where the volcano meets the green tundra that we loved; at the opposite part of the walking start.
Paco P — Google review
Great walk..Not easy all the way around but absolut well worth the effort. You get some great view point for taking pictures or just enjoy the view. And looking into the volcano crater is just fascinating. Don´t worry it´s about 2000 years ago since it last erupted.
Mette M — Google review
Very nice route for a trip, beautiful views and lots of spots where you can sit and enjoy the views!
Nina W — Google review
It is easy to get down and really tough to get all the way back up again. It starts off with a pathway but quickly it disappears. Be careful when it's raining as it can be slippery. As there is an old wine vineyard/distillery there it makes me think how they managed to get all the wine up haha. They do have a information board explaining the house there but not that part. There are so many pretty flowers, green trees and other interesting plants. If you can I'd recommend a trip down to see everything there. Do explore most of it! Unfortunately there are so many people carving names into the great tree there, such a shame to see.
Nicholai M — Google review
Amazing time going there by motorcykle, to bad it was raining But it was Good anyways. Id say the ride there were actually Better then the siting itself. Oh Well, you Will enjoy it!

I thought I already gave it 5 stars. I was just looking it up again because I'm thinking about planning another trip just to take my girlfriend here. She is getting really annoyed as i keep mentioning how amazing this place was every time we eat sushi. The size of the salmon nigiri, the scallops that were melting in my mouth.. It was a highlight of the trip

Unbelievably good. Nothing else to say. NOTHING on the island comes even close. The only drawback is the size of the restaurant and the lack of a formal menu. (Which is not really a drawback if you want FRESH omakase). Sublime. Superb.

Muchas gracias! It was a pleasure to be your guest and we will come back for sure. 🙂 What we loved the most? 1. Watching a professional sushi master preparing fresh and super tasty food right in front of us. You can clearly see his dedication to traditional sushi. 2. Experiencing attentive service by a young highly motivated man. One example: He took a bottle of japanese beer out of the fridge to bring it to our table. But then the telephone ringed and he had to make that phone call for round about 3 minutes. After that he put the beer back in the fridge and brought me an ice cold beer. Just perfect. 3. The pleasant atmosphere. If you want to be part of it make sure to reservate your seats. It will be worth it. ♥️

La Sabina is a delightful dining spot that offers a memorable culinary experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal there, where the fabulous Pepe served us with warmth and efficiency. The house white wine complemented our meal beautifully, making it an excellent choice for casual dining.
Very friendly staff, open during siesta hours, which was really nice. Food was very good with a fair price tag and big portions.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here last week, served by the fabulous Pepe. We enjoyed the hot cheese starter and the garlic prawns and then shared the octopus rice for two - was really good. The house white wine was also very good. Would recommend for casual dining. Clean and modern facilities. Check the opening hours as like other restaurants at the time we visited (March) they were not necessarily operating their full season hours.

Nestled in Telde, RESTAURANTE PERICO JUNIOR is a culinary gem that has attracted both locals and tourists alike. Inspired by the famous Taiwanese author Sanmao, who dined here during her time on the island, this restaurant offers an array of delightful dishes. The standout is undoubtedly their Gofio dessert, hailed as the best on Gran Canaria and Tenerife. While seafood prices may be slightly higher for portion sizes, diners rave about its freshness and flavor.
Came here because of Sanmao, a very influential Taiwanese author, who used to eat here when she lived in Telde with her husband José. - 三毛丸子was very tasty, a must try. - The dessert made of Gofio was VERY good! (It's the BEST Gofio dessert i've tried in both gran canaria and Tenerife) - The seafood was a little pricy considering the amount we got. But it was fresh and tasty, so still would recommend. - The service was attentive and friendly. - The staff can also speak German.

Went there because of a famous Taiwan author Echo (三毛). We tried 1. the sanmao croquettes which is made by squid, 2. seafood paella with black rice which adds cuttlefish juice (not shown in the menu), 3. claims. Food tastes really good but price is little bit high on this island. It takes 50 euro for 2 persons.

Excellent food in an even better location along with a private atmosphere that made it perfect for my father's 80th birthday! I had the black rice and I was very happy, the same with the the others that were at my table. The staff is very caring and quick. I wish I could come back more often! :)

Stopped here for some more insight into the Aloe Vera plant itself, products made from it & got first class (French) service. At the end we bought a few products, looking forward to trying them out.

This place was found by pure luck after deciding to drive through the mountains. Miguel was awesome, so warm, welcoming and friendly, we even had time to chat about experiences in each others country. Very knowledgable and informative and always made us laugh. The shop inside is beautiful. Such beautiful displays and products. I brought myself a few items and I am super impressed. I am definitely coming back in September for more.

Visiting the aloe vera farm was a fantastic experience! The farm was beautiful, with rows of healthy plants and a peaceful atmosphere. Our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating insights about aloe vera's benefits and uses. We even got to harvest some leaves and try fresh aloe gel. It’s an educational and relaxing visit, perfect for anyone interested in natural wellness. Many thanks to Jackie, she absolutely superb! Highly recommend!

My husband and I first went to the Info Centre but there wasn't any plantation. We were then directed to come here, the nearest one for us, and were greeted warmly at the car park by a gentleman upon arrival. We were so curious about the plants and he answered them patiently. Little did we know that there would be a private tour. Jackie took over from him and did a demonstration and explained to us about the plant, the benefits of aloe vera etc. As I am diabetic, she mentioned that one of her colleagues drink the juice and had seen the effect. At the end of the tour, we did get some products (a bit too many, I think 😂) for ourselves and a few souvenirs. (There wasn't any pressure for us to buy them.) If you are health conscious and also concern about your skin, I think the price is justifiable! You just need to use a little bit of the products; less is more! I'd rather get these products than those branded ones in the main market. Hopefully I'd able to see both effects and update the goodness of aloe vera! Kudos to Finca Canarias and the team (and Jackie)!👍 Tip: place a banner or a sign along the road 😊

We were not happy after visiting the Los Olivos parque mostly because of the bad conditions of the animals. The park is mostly a mini zoo with many different mammals and birds, all in tiny, mostly empty cages. After a while it became quite depressing. For kids, there is are multiple playgrounds and lots of animals to see, but not sure if it warrants the entry fee 10/12€ pp. Beyond that, most of the translations on the signs were wrong and sometimes even on the wrong cages. We can't comment much on the olive oil/production as we only saw some machines at the end and were offered to see a video, however at that point we just wanted to leave. There was however a magician which the children seemed to enjoy.
Sebastian G — Google review
Ok, but not more. Animals had too little space and I had the impression they were not kept that well. Across the park it lacked clear signs on where to go. The animal encounters were good for the kids.
Daniel W — Google review
Read all the bad reviews on trip advisor because they are not exaggerating!! After visiting and seeing the aweful condition of some of the animals, I have read the reviews and complaints of poor animal care that date back YEARS. These animals have been suffering for their whole lives here. And it’s aggravating that the only response the team come back with is that they fit the legal requirements of the local law. Clearly laws in Gran Canaria are not strict enough to protect the animals because this treatment should not be legal. Businesses should not just want to do the bare minimum allowed to legally keep these animals, but to actually care for the health and wellbeing of these poor creatures. I’m sure the workers mean best for these animals but I cannot see how they have the heart to witness the suffering of them and just ignore it because it’s technically “legal”. It’s disgusting no matter how you try to defend it. I hope they will realise and take better care of them

It's great to celebrate and spend the day. 100% recommended for a family day. Everything is well taken care of and the animals couldn't be in better condition. The bar and grill Ca' Mario is an exceptional dining establishment where patrons are warmly received by a friendly, articulate, professional, and supportive waitress. Her assistance in explaining the menu and providing suggestions proves invaluable, especially for those who do not speak Spanish fluently. The restaurant offers delectable cuisine at reasonable prices, ensuring a delightful dining experience. While it lacks wifi availability, this minor drawback does not diminish the overall quality of the food or service.
We were just walking looking for some place to eat and stumbled upon this hidden gem, which turned out to be one of the best places we tried in Telde. We ordered some tapas for starters and then a steak for the main course. The tapas was incredible and the steak was the second best I had during my whole stay in Gran Canaria, but by far the best steak in Telde. It was so tender and perfectly cooked. I would without a doubt go back to this place. Everything was perfect; The food, the service and the atmosphere. Highly recommended!

A truly exceptional restaurant This is not just a place to eat – it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with a genuinely warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is well-curated, offering fantastic flavor combinations that really stand out. You don’t just come here to satisfy your hunger – you come to enjoy. It’s absolutely worth making a detour to Telde to experience this hidden gem. Highly recommended!

The inside is nice, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are on point very friendly and they pay attention to detail. Smiles all around, they should get five stars. Unfortunately the food is bland and mediocre. The beef was perfectly seared and delicious unfortunately the accompanying flavor profile of the sauces were less desirable and ruin the dish. The salad was fresh, the calamari was chewy. The dumplings where not well cooked and the sauce was unnecessarily sweet. I see great potential in this restaurant with a little bit more refinement and testing of ideas they will do great things.

Very good restaurant, I was greeted with a welcoming smile from the very friendly, articulate, professional, and helpful waitress. She on her own would be a reason for returning. Not being a fluent Spanish speaker, she was very helpful in explaining the menu and for making recommendations. I had a wonderful meal at a reasonable price. I shall return before my vacation ends. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food, with excellent service. One small observation, it would be good to have wifi available, but maybe that is just me!

The welcome and the waitresses were nice and friendly, however, we did not really like the food and the menu which was unclear with the ingredients. I took ensalada di calamari which it was fried and I did not know, however, my bad that I did not know ask. I asked to have a portion of vegetables on the side however, it was not possible. I don’t get why! A bit overpriced for the location. The restaurant itself is very nice and cozy, good potential I have to say, however, there was not music while we were dining..just silence. Price for a main course between. 12/19€ per person.

Ordered mixed salad, grilled fish and pork loin. The grilled fish presention is nice but it was very bland - no salt or pepper or anything at all on the fish. The sauce was sort of mint sauce which did not go very well together. The pork loin was even worse. Totally dry piece of meat and was probably cooked few days before. The explanation given was that the pork has to be cooked very well - but it is still not explaining why it super dry and hard like rock. Service is good, only reason for the star.

Make a reservation because it gets busy. They have an apartment right across the street. I highly recommend it. I loved it.

(Translated by Google) We booked beforehand for 8. The place was spacious enough to park nearby. The place was well-decorated. The staff was friendly. The bread and aioli were delicious. We ordered two grilled dishes, wrinkled potatoes, two mixed cheese boards, and a sirloin stroganoff. For dessert, flan and Oreo mousse were served with coffee. A nice touch was the shot they gave us at the end of the meal, both with and without alcohol.

(Translated by Google) As soon as you enter you see a very cozy place and a fairly calm atmosphere. I say moderately because there were two large groups making quite a lot of noise. The service is normal, a 3. I don't give it five stars because, although they are very friendly, the lack of some more employees was obvious, since they were overwhelmed. All the tables were full and there were only two waiters, who also did other jobs, so they couldn't pay close attention to the tables. On the other hand, the starters arrived quickly, but we were waiting 40 minutes for the main course after finishing the starters, which is frustrating. As for the food, a 3. The meat feels fresh but without much flavor, a little burnt on the outside and just cooked on the inside (you can see it in the photos). The homemade desserts are good, but small in quantity. The bread is very good, yes. Regarding the price, expensive for what it is. €32 per person where we ordered two beers, bread with aioli and olives, a peasant sausage, a sirloin with pepper and a sirloin without sauce. Normal quantities, a little more potatoes with the main dishes wouldn't be bad. They had a nice touch which was to invite us to a liquor at the end of the dinner. As a plus point, say that they have 1906 beer on tap.
