Outdoor Activities
Playa de Amadores is a spacious cove with a stunning white-sand beach, offering visitors a range of amenities including restaurants, shops, and accommodations built into the cliffs. Despite being man-made, this horseshoe-shaped beach boasts soft sand and tranquil, crystal-clear waters that make it an ideal spot for families. The calm sea makes it perfect for paddling and swimming.
In my opinion, the most beautiful beach in Gran Canaria. Yes, it’s artificial, but this place is just breathtaking…. The water is a beautiful azure colour and the sand is golden. The waves aren’t very big although the water gets deep after a few metres. There are shops and restaurants here, as well as toilets, parking, and a bus stop. You can reach this beach from everywhere on the island by bus. If you’re staying in Puerto Rico, there is a promenade with stunning views that takes just 15 minutes to walk. This beach is a must-see in Gran Canaria. ❤️

Lovely beach , gets very busy , plenty of sunbeds and parasols to hire and plenty of space to pitch up with your own. Very secluded bay with clear water , but does get seaweed float in later in the day 🤷🏼‍♂️ , a complete parade of restaurants and shops behind the beach and plenty of free parking . A big inflatable area with slides and jumps in the sea is available at an extra price !

Walked from Terrazamar and SunSuites to Playa de Amadores, along the promenade between Puerto Deportivo de Puerto Rico and Amadores and all in all the walk took roughly 1 hour from our apartment to Amadores, views were spectacular of Mount Teide in Tenerife, got such a clear view of it, Amadores itself was nice, very crowded, walked to it on Tuesday October 7th 2025 and at roughly 1:30pm place was packed. Nice Beach, Nice Walk. Recommended to all

Very nice beach, two sun beds and an umbrella for €15. The water is clear and the sand isn't a problem because it comes off as soon as you dry off. Unfortunately, we noticed that it tends to get dirty in the afternoon, probably caused by the waves, but in the morning it's very clean.
Greta M — Google review
Very beautiful beach! Soft sandy beach and the water clear in turquoise colour. A huge contrast to the “Rentnerverein” at Playa de Inglés 🤣😅
Selcan Ö — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach good selection of resturants but problem is all sell same food , lovely water but is cloudy and not to good for snorkling.
Andy P — Google review
The worst beach I have ever visited. Very crowded, water is very dirty, shower costs 2€ (crazy) and the toilet 0,70€. Two sunbeds + umbrellas - 15€ (which is not very bad). You cannot survive more than 1h on this place at least end of July!!! Keep away 🙏. As evidence please refer to the photos I posted. As all in one - waste of money and time for nothing. 🤨
Georgi K — Google review
One of the best if not the best beach in Gran Canaria. We’ve loved it here so much we travelled almost daily from Maspalomas. Lovely turquoise water and sand that doesn’t stick on you, plenty of restaurants from where you can see your beach setup and public toilets and showers. Can get very busy, so better come slightly early especially for the free parking. Will come back here one day surely! ⛱️

Outdoor Activities
Nestled on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, Playa de Puerto Rico is a vibrant and sheltered cove that has become a beloved destination for families and sun-seekers alike. With its soft sandy beach and inviting waters, it’s no wonder this spot boasts the title of one of the island's sunniest locations. While it has seen significant development since its inception in the 1970s—characterized by towering apartment blocks resembling an amphitheater—the charm remains intact.
Perfect holiday location. Sand, sea, sunshine and sangria 😎 Great hotels and food. Lovely walks along the promenade and sandy beach. Boat trips along the coast. Puerto Rico is a major tourist resort located on the southwest coast of the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Known for its sunny climate and golden, family-friendly beaches with imported Saharan sand, the resort offers water sports, a marina, and lively nightlife. It's a popular destination for families and couples seeking sun, beaches, and entertainment, with options for water sports, shopping, dining, and excursions to nearby areas like the picturesque town of Mogán.
John M — Google review
Clean, calm, and family-friendly. Playa de Puerto Rico is a well-kept beach with soft sand and gentle waves, good for swimming, even with kids. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available, but also space to sit on your own towel if you prefer. Shops, toilets, and cafés are all close by, so it’s easy to spend a whole day here without hassle. Gets busy in the afternoon, but the atmosphere stays relaxed. Great choice if you want a beach that’s easy to access and has everything nearby.
Patrik K — Google review
This beach is nothing special. Overcrowded and murky water. It’s better to walk 15 minutes to Amadores beach by the promenade where the water is azure. Or a 2 minute bus ride to anfi del mar where the water is like the caribbean. I suppose this beach looks nice in the morning, but for a beach day, there are much better options in the area.
Noemi — Google review
Not too crowded, cheap sunbeds, food and drink. Good boat Trips.

Had a great day at the beach.. 2 sun beds and 1 parasol €10.50.. x

Sandy beach in the busy resort of Puerto Rico. Short walk from town centre. Marina is adjacent to the beach. Bar/restaurant on quayside has novelty swim up bar. Sheltered for swimming.
Stuart M — Google review
Plenty of sun loungers to hire, beautiful warm sea & plenty of restaurants on the promenade where you take 1 step onto the sand.
Philip D — Google review
The best beach in Gran Canria. Sunbed is 7 euros for the day, 10 with an umbrella for shade. ALWAYS SUNNY, I have never ever been here and it hasn't been glorious sunshine, whether that's in January or June it's always sunny!! There's great centres nearby, lovely beach restaurants and great views. Topless bathing is allowed, although naturism is allowed, its never really seen here, so for an all over tan, I'd suggest just in front of the dunes in maspalomas beach between playa de ingles and maspalomas, it's about a 15 minute walk from playa de ingles end and 20 from maspalomas end. Peurto Rico harbour to the right as you're looking at the sea, has many excursions available and the actual port you can see Ray-fish, turtles etc in the crystal clear water. Back to Peurto Rico beach though, for a lovely paddling or swimming area, to get a great tan and to have a great choice of food and the option for a sun-lounger, then you won't be disappointed with Peurto Rico.

Golf course
Outdoor Activities
Anfi Tauro Golf is a stunning 18-hole course located just outside Puerto Rico, offering picturesque views of volcanic mountains and lakes. The course is known for its well-maintained grounds and challenging layout. Francisco de Bethencourt, the manager, has extensive experience in the golf industry and has been involved in various golf clubs across different islands.
Read about this golf course on google! Was staying in the Gloria Palace Amadores which is 5 minutes away by taxi. Called in on Wednesday and booked a round at the twilight rate for 3 pm the next day. Turned up next day and paid 124 euros. For that you can play the full 18 holes more if you like, a set of top of the range Taylormade clubs aprox value 1,500 euros and hire of a buggy! The course was in terrific condition and the view from the fourth tee in particular was stunning! It’s an Arizona type course with dry shrub areas and gulleys so unless your a single figure player bring at least 10 balls! The fourth, the index 1 hole and the 14 th were the standout holes for me! My wife was with me and we had booked the restaurant at what is a timeshare hotel. No problem dining at 6 pm even though I’d booked for 7/30 pm. The restaurant like the course was not busy and we had a lovely chateaubriand steak served and sliced at the table by Mohamed! Nice touch was the little gas heater to either keep your remaining steak warm or cook it to suit. A fantastic day, the highlight of my holiday. Only two things, there was no one at the buggy, club stand so had to wait but went back to the pro shop and a radio call sorted that. The other is the driving range and par three course can’t be reached by buggy, their rules, if you have a hire car no problem. Went back the next day and really enjoyed both. My first but not my last visit to Anfi Touro golf. Enjoy!
Shaun M — Google review
Absolutely stunning. My husband and his friend spent a morning at Anfi Tauro Golf and it was everything you’d want from a top-tier golf experience: a flawless course, welcoming staff, and that unbeatable Canarian climate that makes you want to stay out all day. From the very first hole, you’re immersed in a landscape that feels almost surreal — peaceful, silent, surrounded by nature and warm tones of the rocky hills. No rush, no stress — just pure focus and pleasure. The course is immaculately maintained, every detail carefully curated. The staff? Friendly, helpful, and professional. You immediately feel like you're in good hands, even if it’s your first time playing here. It’s one of those places where you lose track of time — not because you're rushing through holes, but because you're genuinely lost in the experience. A must for anyone who plays, or just wants to treat themselves to a peaceful, luxurious golf morning. We’ll be back for sure.
Melania R — Google review
Anfi Tauro is a fabulous route. Played off yellows today. Some were as far back as white tees. It's a great challenge and has plenty of risk and reward holes. All the par 5s are reachable in 2 with a good drive. Lots of holes where the water can make a meaningful difference depending on hole locations. The 6th is a lovely par 3 playing back to sea. It's one of the highest points on the course. Massive green, so it's not hard to hit with a long iron. Beware of 3 putting as it's got some deceptive breaks.
Nick D — Google review
Fantastic golf course spectacular scenery, greens had recently been spiked but that didn’t spoil the round highly recommend
Damian L — Google review
Absolutely loved Anfi Tauro Golf ,,, fantastic course, really stunning yet fair and enjoyable,, a good strong course in great condition,, a great welcome and service from both the pro shop and caddie master , they couldn’t be more helpful ,, course was quiet as low season so it was a magical evening spent,, you need a buggy though but then the course wouldn’t be what it is without the elevation changes,, highly recommend
Danny S — Google review
Haven't played it yet but it looked amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful
Martin P — Google review
Beautiful course! Quite challenging (for me!) but lovely course! As with other courses we played in Gran Canaria, in excellent condition! Only thing I would say is that buggy should be included in the price as course would be very difficult to walk.
Jan — Google review
Great course and facilities, greens where so quick and true and the par 3,s from the white tees are a true test at over 200 yards.only down side is the driving range is around a 15 min walk from the reception. Couldn't take the buggie which I found strange as the 1st tee is right by the range.Didnt get to play par 3 course but it looked as good as the main course.Hotel area was really nice and so was the food.Club hire is only 40 euros but I think I'd take my own next time as they couldn't match flex or brand I had at the time. Will be playing it again when out next year,August a good time to play if you don't mind the heat as it is there quiet period but do also do maintenance

Embark on an unforgettable underwater journey with the Submarine Adventure by Atlántida Submarine in Puerto de Mogan. This family-friendly attraction offers a unique experience as you board a classic yellow submarine and descend into the depths of the ocean. Witness an array of marine life through the portholes, from tropical fish like mullet and bream to intriguing creatures such as moray eels and groupers.
I was initially expecting something mediocre, can’t be that “amazing” for the price I paid £33 online. I booked it as a last minute thing. Seen some reviews but they didn’t do it justice, boy was I mistaken, it’s always been my dream to go to far depths of the ocean any part, but I’m not confident swimmer and I panic, I had the most magical experience!!! I was truly blown away. The experience of being able to see the surface of water from underneath, the fishes and the wreckage, it was such an amazing experience. It was such a clear day and you could see all the fishes clearly. The experience in itself lasted around 40 mins - which I think was more than enough time to see everything. Would 100% recommend to anyone interested in the sea. The audio guide also guides you along as you go. I went alone my partner was scared of the experience and how he would feel physically - tbh I didn’t have much nausea or anything tbh, you get a weird feeling when you’re resurfacing but that’s it!

Went on submarine adventure today with husband . We booked through excursion centre and were charged slightly higher than we should of been so it's worth paying at the place rather than through excursion centre. It's disability accessible and good for children aswell. Toilets outside the adventure stop charge 50 cents . The submarine dive itself was amazing , your given head phones that you can keep as a souvenir and 2 photos are taken that cost 5 euros for both which was very good . You get to see some ship wrecks and lots of fish whilst listening to the guide and some calming music in your head set. Stunning to see and a really amazing experience that shouldn't be missed . My only wish is that it could be longer as we didn't want it to end , it lasted approx 45 minutes . Highly recommended if you are in Mogan and costs around 38 euro per adult .
Helen “ — Google review
Completely different experience. We liked it a lot. If you're coming from outside Mogan and already bought tickets, better to come earlier because parking can get complicated.
Ana P — Google review
Fantastic experience, loved every minute of it, the company picked us up from our hotel and dropped us back off again. We got approximately 1.5hrs in Mogan, a beautiful little village with various shops, bars and restaurants. Managed to see a vast array of fish including Barracuda swimming in the harbour.
Wayne H — Google review
Great experience. We were a bit hesitant after seeing the reviews but thought it was something unusual to try and I gotta say it was a good choice. Very enjoyable, inside is air conditioned too. We saw lots of different fish and the screens in front of you tell you what species they are.
Caroline189 — Google review
We paid 140euros for a family of five, two adults three children. My 14 year old was charged at adult rate but I don't understand why this is the case as he's not an adult until he's 18! It was a long walk in the heat from the beach for the children but I'd say worth it. We all enjoyed the trip. The gauge was great, the information screen and the audio guide were interesting, too, although the speaker ports were a bit crackly and we had to wiggle my son's a little before it worked. We saw lots of fish and a big wreckage. It was interesting and my children enjoyed it. They were presented with a certificate printed with their names on when we left which was a lovely thought. We received two photos in a card frame for 5euros which I felt was excellent. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. If you have the money spare, it's worth it. I do think it was a lot of money to spend for 40minutes, but it's an exceptional experience that you don't get everyday.
Sophie B — Google review
A unique experience, but I feel that the ticket is too expensive, at least when compared to what we experienced for the same amount at Los Palomitos which was a wonderful full day experience. That's why it's a 4 star and nota 5 star review.
Daniela — Google review
Very nice experience, we didn't had the chance to see all the fishes from the advert, but overall is a really memorable experience.

Restaurant
Patio Canario is a restaurant located in the urbanization of Puerto de Mogán, in the province of Gran Canaria, with a focus on Canary cuisine. It features dishes that mix traditional Spanish food with influences from African and South American cooking, as well as imported Spanish dishes. The real taste of Gran Canaria can be enjoyed only at Patio Canario where you can enjoy their famous Paella and a variety of fish dishes.
After spending a day in Puerto de Mogan we decided to have dinner before getting the water taxi home. We shared a wonderful mixed paella with prawns, mussels, squid, sea bass, chicken and rabbit. A couple of drinks each and 2 coffees to round off a great meal and all for €75. This place has its own wee atmosphere with gentle music playing in the background and very friendly and effiecient stsff to serve you. Would I come back to this resteraunt, absolutely. There are lots of lovely looking eateries here but this is the only one we really tried, and it was well worth the visit.
Ronnie K — Google review
Food was fine, a bit overly priced for what it was and the views of the back of boats is all you get as a view of the harbour etc I know the restaurant can't do anything about that but I'm just pointing it out as a few other reviews on here mention how great the view is and one mentions seeing the sunset, which unless they mean the colour of the sky rather than the sun setting is not possible due to buildings being in the way. Again not anything the restaurant can do anything about I'm just commenting on the other reviews and being factual

Amazing food, about as good as it can get. Spaghetti with lobster was awesome, very generous portion, full of seafood in a light tomato sauce and crowned with a lobster complete with the tools to do it justice. Great wine pairing too as recommended by the brilliant waitress. Put it on your bucket list…

It was a very nice experience. Went after our swim with the intention of trying paella for the first time. We also tried the prawns with garlic and octopus ropavieja as starters. Everything was amazing, very tasty and the staff very helpful to guide us through the menu. Also the table we happened to have was very nice. Would totally recommend when visiting Puerto de Mogán!

Lovely, friendly service. Tasty food (kid’s chicken nuggets were poor but the rest of the food was great. A lovely lunch for 4 of us including drinks, 2 desserts and a coffee for 120€ plus tip.

Just a stunning location, right on the marina, food was definitely more authentic than the other restaurants on the same stretch of the Marina. The grilled Octapus is a must try, as is the Specialities section of the menu. You will not be disappointed with the Fish and Seafood Caserol bring your appetite. Looking around, there were non stop orders for the Paella and Steak clearly loved dishes. If you love wine then speak to the staff who are well versed in the different options to pair with your food. Overall just great food and service!!!!!!!

Nice and cozy atmosphere; the outside ambience is what made us decide to sit and eat here. However, we had a very bad experience. Although the food was okey (great clams and seafood soup, a bit disappointing the mix grill of seafood as the squid was a bit gummy); you have to be very careful as there’s someone in the restaurant who likes to make things disappear from the tables. We forgot a pair of sunglasses on the table (we were the last ones to leave the restaurant at night) and as soon as we came back to claim them the day after, no one was able to help us. Apparently they forgot even who was the person that cleaned the table 9 hours prior. If you decide to stop by, keep an eye out and remember to bring your things with you, if you have to use the bathroom! 🙌🏽

Ciao Beach is a beachfront restaurant known for its classic Italian-Spanish hospitality and atmosphere. Visitors have praised the excellent food, particularly the well-prepared seafood dishes. The restaurant offers a great menu selection with good value for money, catering to both couples and family groups. Guests appreciate the friendly and helpful staff who contribute to a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.
We stumbled upon Ciao Beach at Amadores Beach by accident, but it quickly became our favourite dining spot during our holiday in June/July 2024. Although it has a 4.2 rating on Google Maps, it truly deserves a perfect 5 stars. The food here is incredible. Every dish we tried was nothing short of amazing, from the mouthwatering pizza to the delectable calzone, which is absolutely to die for. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave feeling satisfied and well-fed. The Caesar salad was another highlight, fresh and perfectly balanced. The cocktails are excellent too, adding a delightful touch to our meals. We dined here five times, and each visit reinforced our love for this place. Service at Ciao Beach is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always ready to make your dining experience memorable. If you're ever at Amadores Beach, make sure to visit Ciao Beach. It's a gem that we were lucky to discover, and we're certain you'll fall in love with it just as we did.

Before you skip my review just spend 2-3 minutes to read this because it’s for you if you want to eat here. We were in a holiday for a week in Gran Canaria near Playa de Amadores.. We’ve been to some different restaurants in the first two days (expensive restaurants) and in one night we’ve decided not to take the taxi anymore and to eat near the beach and we found this restaurant “Ciao Beach” from the first night everything here tasted really well and we’ve decided to come back the next day and the next day and so on (we are on our fourth day eating here) The personal here it’s extremely friendly and they help you with all the questions and request you need. Gigi who is a great guy helped us to pick a really nice wine,In one night I said I want some pastas but they were not in the menu and the Kitchen Chef, Calogero.. came to me and he said don’t worry,I’ll make exactly what you want it was so delicious that I’ve cleaned the plate.. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to eat here because everything it’s fresh and tasty. 10/10 TOP

Fantastic meal, tasty food but carbonara was too cheesy for my girlfriend however I really liked it. Staff created a great atmosphere and were very polite and friendly. Even the staff that were in the kitchen were laughing and having a great time. Took our leftover pizza home!! Only problem was drink was a bit warm so could have done with some ice or have been in the fridge for longer. Muchas gracias!!

Classic Italian-Spanish hospitality and atmosphere. We spent two weeks on Gran Canaria and ate here almost every day. I have never been disappointed. Excellent food and nice staff. There are some complainers who had a problem with the amount of food, or with the quality of the food. I don't understand them. If someone says that the food here is not good, I don't think they have eaten here, they gave feedback in the wrong place. Thank you Ciao Beach, we are very satisfied, we have had many experiences with you! 😉

Nestled in the charming port area of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Grill Costa Mar is a delightful family-run eatery that captures the essence of coastal dining. With its laid-back vibe and stunning sea views, this restaurant specializes in an array of grilled fresh fish and seafood dishes, including mouthwatering paella and succulent king prawns. What sets Grill Costa Mar apart is its commitment to quality ingredients, often infused with a unique Basque twist that elevates traditional flavors.
Grill Costa Mar delivered an amazing dining experience from start to finish! I started with the fish croquettes as an appetizer, which were crispy and flavorful, followed by a fresh tomato salad with feta and avocado – the ingredients were clearly super fresh and bursting with flavor. The main course was a perfectly grilled entrecôte, incredibly tender and juicy. The cozy atmosphere by the harbor and the friendly staff made the experience even better. All in all, a wonderful evening with delicious, fresh food and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Great food, fair prices, and genuinely friendly service. We had fresh fish, grilled meat, and local wine, all spot on. Portions were generous without being over the top. The staff were attentive but not pushy, and the setting near the harbour made for a relaxed dinner. Would happily come back, solid choice if you want proper food without the tourist trap feel.

Very nice small local restaurant. Best paella we have ever had. Bruschetta for starter was delicios and generously big to share for two. And of course very nice service and staff was fab and good-mannered. 👌🏼👍🏼Highly recommend!

What a lovely restaurant with a nice view on the harbour and away from the tourist traps. Love the Canarian dishes. Are going back next week for the paella!

Nice little place with lovely staff and tasty food. I ate pasta with sea food and my wife had a squid with potatoes and sallad. Lovely

Grill Costa Mar is one of those places that makes you want to linger a little longer. Perfectly situated right by Puerto Rico’s harbour, it offers an unbeatable setting where you can watch the boats come and go, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the lively harbour ambience. It’s also a prime spot for people-watching, with plenty happening around you while you sit back and relax. There is great coffee here which is ideal for a mid-morning break. The menu is varied, with meals and snacks that are tasty and well-prepared. The fresh fish dishes are especially good, cooked simply and perfectly to bring out all their flavour. Portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, particularly given the location. The beer is cold, and the cocktails are well made. What really adds to the experience is the service. Ramón, in particular, is always welcoming, friendly, and attentive, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere where you feel looked after without ever being rushed. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee, enjoying a leisurely lunch, or settling in with cocktails as the sun sets, Grill Costa Mar is a brilliant place to pause and soak up the best of Puerto Rico. This is a true harbour gem that I recommend to locals and visitors alike.

Amazing meal here last night. Had Prawns, Mushrooms and ham in garlic and Bruschetta to start, which both tasted great loads of flavour. The Red Snapper was cooked to perfection and Chicken with ham and cheese was delicious. All perfectly complimented by a great local wine. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a great all round experience. Best meal of the holiday

Lovely local restaurant with lots of fresh fish options. One of our best nights, as much more relaxed than the chaos of the centre and we felt more authentic. The staff were very welcoming and the chef was wonderful. Very reasonable cost for the quality of food.. Thank you for a wonderful evening 💕.. Highly recommend, we phoned to book a table.

Restaurant
Taste Restaurant Gran Canaria is a charming little place offering a variety of high-quality dishes. The owner, who personally endorses each dish on the menu, ensures that guests have a fantastic dining experience. The food is generally good, and the wine selection is reasonably priced. Guests can opt for individual plates and wine selections rather than set courses for a more personalized experience. With incredible food and friendly owners, this restaurant offers an excellent alternative to standard menus in the area.
A wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was cozy, with a lovely view. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were amazing—and beautifully presented. I really appreciated that they prepared delicious vegan options for me. Highly recommend this place!😃
Caroline J — Google review
This place really has bigger ambitions than most restaurants in this part of Gran Canaria. And the food is fantastic! The waiters and waitresses did a really good job throughout our dinner. There are some complaints to be shared too. On several occasions things we asked for were forgotten. A new glass of wine, a new bottle of water. We had to ask again. But the biggest issue we had were the waiting times between the different courses that just got longer and longer. For our last plate we had to wait at least 45 minutes during which we just sat there with nothing on the table. And I heard the waitresses apologising several times to our neighbouring tables who were also waiting... This ruined the experience a little bit - if they only get this right I'd recommend everybody to go here. And if you're fine with a long dinner - go here anyway! The food is awesome :)

This restaurant is a lovely find if you like really exceptional tasty food and is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The wine selection is vast and they serve everything by the glass so you can try something different or do the wine pairing with the taste menu. We had six dishes between us and were really full, the pulpo was delicious and my husband loved the lamb cutlets and fillet steak. I would highly recommend a visit.

One of our favourite restaurants! Fantastic and innovative dishes as well as wines. There is always something new and mouth watering on the menu and the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a detour!

Beautiful sunset view. Excellent food and Daniela looked after everyone in the restaurant and was exceptional with us. A fantastic evening.

This was the best food we’d had on our holiday! The staff were really friendly, polite and helpful when it came to dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free). The decor and view is a great bonus! Unlike other restaurants we didn’t feel pressured or ushered in either. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.
Abigail L — Google review
A nice restaurant in which they do smaller "taste" size portions. The tasting menu was priced high but I feel as if I robbed them for the value we got our. Wines paired perfectly with each of the 5 courses. My other half doesn't like blue cheese or goats cheese, but she was more than shocked with the taste they provided in our meals. Portion sizes seemed small but instead were more than enough for us. Quality of food was 100/10 pushing us into an enjoyment of food we didn't know existed.
Cameron B — Google review
Charming little place. Fantastic if you're looking for variety and quality in your meal. Each dish is a tasting portion, enough to get your appetite whetted and eager to try the next. The owner was friendly and you could tell that each dish on the menu was something he personally endorses. He recommended a great little bottle of white wine that was of a reasonable price range to go with our dishes instead of trying to force us to take a really expensive bottle. All 9n all a great dining experience and would highly recommend it if you want to treat yourself.

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Palmitos Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to The Market Puerto Rico. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Palmitos Park is a must-visit attraction on Gran Canaria, offering a diverse range of experiences for the whole family. The park is divided into five areas: Birds, The Garden, Aquarium, Reptiles, and Mammals. Visitors can explore the Cage of Lories to see colorful birds from around the world and the House of Butterflies, which boasts being the largest in Europe.
Wonderfull place to visit. There are mostly smaller animals here to see, but at least as wonderfull is the flora, gorgeous flowers, plants and trees. They have exciting and interesting shows and you can spend at least five to six hours here in bewonderment! Step away one day from the beach and you won’t regret it!

We visited today, had prebooked the bus with the tickets, we went from Puerto rico & public bus takes over an hour because of all the stops, obviously cheaper, but the coach we went on only took about 35- 40 mins, dropped off at aqua park first. It is quite a leg stretch to cover all the park, but so worth it, I would say if you like birds then time it to see the exotic bird display first, then stay there for birds of prey straight after, we didn't (even though we had a photo of the times) it just didn't register, because it is a fair trek up to the top of the park, the birds of prey fly right out to the mountains & fly around in the cloud, such a wonderful back drop for it. The dolphins were absolutely wonderful, all looked well cared for as do all the animals. There is a lovely little aquarium as well as birds of all sorts, butterfly house, orchid house, reptiles of all sorts, snakes, lizards, crocodile, caiman, there are armadillos. Like anywhere else this is not a cheap option for a drink or snack or cooked food, but it is what it is, you can take water or drink with you, but when it is so hot it gets warm fairly quick. You can have photos taken with the different birds, & the dolphins(€25 for 1 photo,€35 for 2) not sure on the price of the birds. Definitely recommend it for a day out for all ages.

The staff was super professional. We didn't wait in a queue anywhere. Plenty of toilets, a place to eat and the shows they organize are worth watching. Go in the morning and plan for a full day there. There are so many animals we have never seen before and everything was clean and well taken care of.
Daniela — Google review
Such a hidden gem! 🐬💙 We planned a quick visit and ended up spending almost the whole day — so much to see and do! The dolphin show was amazing, the park was super clean, and it’s so easy to find your way around. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! 🌿✨
Kasia S — Google review
We had an amazing time at Palmitos Park! The animal shows and animations were truly fantastic – engaging, well-organized, and perfect for both kids and adults. We spent a wonderful and valuable day together as a family, surrounded by nature and incredible animals. You can feel the love and care put into the place. The only thing that could be improved is the quality of the photos taken during the experience – it would be great to have clearer, higher-resolution memories from such a beautiful day. Still, 100% recommend it – we’ll definitely come back!
LB — Google review
Absolutely brilliant to see animals that actually look happy in a zoo all the pens are a reasonable size and its great that you can walk through and interact with some of the animals and even feed some e.g exotic birds. The live shows were well coordinated and informative definitely recommend
Shaun E — Google review
Had a great time. Obviously the dolphins were a must see, lots of fun and very well choreographed. And the free flying bird display was very good, never got on with the idea of birds being cooped up in cages but here thay get to fly free three times a day. Seeing a flock of macaws flying around the mountain side was a beautiful experience.lots of other things to see and do and animals generally look well cared for.like all zoos food and drink over priced but can't be cheap place to run so let them off that and set in great location.
Paul R — Google review
Next level especially the dolphin show just WOW! Beautiful scenery, cactus garden and interactive shows/enclosures. We fed the Emus for €2 but I would avoid with children because they were quite sharp on the hands but hilarious experience. The birds were lovely, photo opportunity’s and little stands around to grab a snack/drink. Easy bus to get there and taxi rank with lots of taxis outside to get home easier if the bus doesn’t arrive.

Shopping mall
Located in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, the Mogan Mall is one of the largest shopping destinations on the island. With over 70 fashionable and accessories shops, as well as 15 casual eateries from around the world, it's a perfect spot to spend a day out shopping.
Everything you could need is here in one place. This mall has a great set up, it is clean, has very nice bathrooms and many shops and restaurants. The atmosphere is also always so nice and chill here. I love it, even the whole design of it all.
Flóra M — Google review
A few stores located under the shade to escape the heat. You will find everything you might need from clothes, to shoes, toys and perfumes. There is a good variety of shops to spend the day here after or before your swim with some food shops at the end as well. The place is modern and kept clean which was nice. We missed the fountain show which would have been nice to see.
Monica I — Google review
A really well kept, contemporary, shopping mall. It's a really unique design and has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The fountain has a great light show on Friday and Saturday nights. And there is a fun splash zone for the little ones in selected days.
Michael H — Google review
The most beautiful mall on the island by far. Very beautiful architecture and views. Plenty of options for shopping and restaurants. Has a beautiful view of the mountains and the air is cooled to reduce the temperature. Overall I definitely recommend tourists to visit this place. The other malls on the island are not worthy of visiting.
Saeed M — Google review
The mall provides a free bus service to and from the shops. I got on at playa del ingles and 45mins later I was there. Plenty of great shops to browse, even a fountain and lights display every Friday and Saturday at 9pm. The beach and harbour are less than 30min walk from the mall, and the Angry Birds kids play area is great fun, so a great day out all round. Last free bus leaves at 5.30pm.
Paul S — Google review
Very nice open shopping mall. It’s very modern and clean. There is a free bus driving to and from Mogan Mall, however there are not a lot of different departure/arrival times so we decided on taking a regular bus to Puerto Rico and walk 15 minutes from there. The mall has two stories and besides shops there are also a few (casual) restaurants and a supermarket nearby. It’s not a full day activity but still nice for two hours of relaxed shopping.

Puts 99% of all UK shopping malls to shame. Clean, organised, spacious. Visually appealing at every angle. Excellent variety of shops to suit everyone. Just an overall lovely place to spend a few hours of your day.

Market Puerto Rico is a sophisticated retail destination that features a handpicked selection of unique shops and trendy restaurants. It's an impressive shopping center in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, offering visitors a diverse range of options for grabbing a quick bite or enjoying an upscale dining experience with loved ones. The building's aesthetics are visually captivating, and the quality of the markets, superstores, and shops is exceptional.
Very attractive place, shops on ground floor with restaurants on upper level. Great hanging garden ( Not quite Babylon style). Some pretty expensive alcohol if you drink the stuff. Toilets are spotlessly clean and free. Probably better at night when more is open.
Paul S — Google review
Clean and modern but I was hoping for a better shopping experience as this mall is directed at tourists with more money than sense. Across the road a large Spar can be found which is worth a visit.
Jim V — Google review
So many cute shops and good WiFi connection. Very nice benches to chill on as well with lovely views.
Flóra M — Google review
Let me start by saying this review is purely based on my personal experience at The Market in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria and that experience mostly involved being the designated bag holder on a family shopping mission. Now, the place itself is tidy and modern, with a bunch of stylish shops and casual eateries. If you enjoy browsing beauty products, fashion, or cute little boutiques, then you’ll probably be right at home here. But for me? I stepped into the first shop (Primor, I think it was called), took one look around, and noped right back out. Not my scene at all. I spent the rest of the visit sat on one of the benches, people-watching and waiting for my family to finish shopping. Peaceful enough, sure, but also mind-numbingly dull if you're not into shopping or café-hopping. It’s one of those places that’s definitely suited to a certain type of holiday-goer, just not this one. To be fair, it’s clean, well-kept and has a bit of an upmarket feel to it. It’s just not somewhere I’d rush back to unless I’m needed again to carry bags and offer the occasional “yeah, that looks nice” from the sidelines.

Go up here to the spar, decent selection of stuff for self catering, nice selection of ready made food,ie: lasagne, rice, potatoes, & lots of other bits that you can buy by the tub, so easy, fresh fruit & veg is good, the cakes in the cabinet are good as well, only downside no fresh milk, we did ask someone & he showed us long life.

Fantastic shopping centre, just what the area needed. Beautifully lit up in the evening, good selection of shops, Stradavarious, Bershka, Lefties, Pull & Bear, JD Sports, Lacoste, and many more. Good selection of cafes and restaurants, good seating areas. Free Parking most of the days, pet friendly also. Love it

San Miguel Restaurant in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, is a popular dining spot known for its superb food and fantastic customer service. The staff are described as happy and cheerful, creating a fantastic atmosphere for diners. Visitors praise the delicious solomillo a la pimienta, pechuga empanada a la pimiento, and garlic prawns. The restaurant's fast and attentive service adds to the overall positive experience.
By far the best restaurant we’ve been to on our 10 night stay. Absolutely incredible food and the prices are unbeatable. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Friendly and quick service. Just absolutely fantastic.

I had an excellent experience at San Miguel Restaurant! The solomillo a la pimienta was nice and juicy, and the pechuga empanada a la pimiento was quite filling. The garlic prawns were on point, and the service was fast and attentive. The prices are great too, especially compared to the nearby restaurants. I’ve also visited in the past for a full English breakfast, which was delicious as well. Highly recommend this place! San Miguel, keep it up!

The food itself was fine, no real complaints but what I expected. Cheap carling lager and beef dinners, not exactly Spanish…..
Gavin H — Google review
We always make sure to dine here at least once every summer, as this is the best restaurant of the ones we have been at. You will also notice that this is one of only a couple of restaurants in the shopping mall that does not need to try to lure you in. There is often a small queue to get in, as the restaurant is often full. But it is worth the wait.

It's a resturant at Grand Canaria.... What can you really expect? Deasent pricing, deasent food and friendly staff. You get what you expect in a tourist mashine like Poerto Rico. This was one of the resturants in that plase. Wil probably go there again. I had a 700 gr T-bone steak and paid 25 Euroes. Not bad

The food SUPERB & the atmosphere created by all of the STAFF is FANTASTIC. You have to try it you wont be disappointed. Been back again 15 Dec 2021 9th Jan 2022 nothing has changed the same old fantastic San Miguel. Back again Oct 2023 & guess what...nothing changed excellent service excellent food no hassle & the same staff as 10 years ago. That tells you something about the clearly Excellent management. FIVE STAR RATING EASILY.
