Swinoujscie in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Swinoujscie, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Świnoujście is a Baltic Sea resort town known for its wide, sandy beaches, long seaside promenade and spa traditions. Unusually spread across more than 40 islands, it offers coastal scenery, harbor views and easy access by ferry and bike paths. Visitors can climb one of the tallest brick lighthouses in the world, explore 19th‑century coastal forts and see the distinctive windmill‑shaped Stawa Młyny beacon. Its location on the German border also makes it a convenient base for day trips into nearby seaside towns and the forests of Wolin Island.
With favorites like Kurna Chata, Latarnia Morska w Świnoujściu, and Prochownia, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Cafe Wieża and Prochownia so you can get the best taste of Swinoujscie while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Świnoujście Promenade

The Świnoujście Promenade is a delightful destination that perfectly captures the essence of coastal charm. Stretching along the stunning Baltic Sea, this promenade invites visitors to take leisurely strolls while soaking in breathtaking views of the water and distant sailboats. Lined with an array of cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops housed in charming 19th-century buildings, it offers a vibrant atmosphere for all ages.
With the Baltic Sea stretching out before you, the views are truly breathtaking. The vast expanse of water, often with sailboats on the horizon, provides a sense of serenity that's hard to match. The sandy beach and dunes nearby make it an ideal place to relax, sunbathe, or take leisurely strolls.

wonderful place full of things to see, it's like a big bazaar when you can get different things like food, drinks, souvenir, restaurants, pubs, bar, ect. great experience here 🥰 I'll come back

Recommend. One of Poland's flagship street. Young and vibrant. A big contrast to Germany. Germany, well-groomed but with elderly people.
Frank S — Google review
Wonderful atmosphere with many restaurants and seating along the pathways. Easy access for all, both young and elderly. Great for wheelchair users and disabled people as the area is level.
Matthew A — Google review
The beach in Świnoujście is one of our favorite places on the Baltic Sea! It’s wide, well-maintained, and really clean – perfect for long walks, especially in the morning or at sunset. After the walk, you can pass through a beautiful park to the city center, where you can enjoy a delicious meal and a drink at the cozy “Prochownia” bar. A big plus are the well-developed cycling paths – great for active visitors and families with kids. Świnoujście also impresses with fresh, healthy air and excellent food. The atmosphere is great – relaxing and welcoming. We come back very often and are always happy to be here. Definitely 5 stars – highly recommended!
Agnieszka K — Google review
We recently enjoyed a nice enough stroll down this wide pedestrian promenade. There are many shops, restaurants, bars & ice cream parlours etc. lining this place. We went late on a Friday afternoon and it was very busy - almost too busy really. Bench seats lined the promenade and most were taken, mainly by the older generation resting their legs, chatting and doing essential people watching. All good if rather crowded.
Ian K — Google review
It gets the job done. It definitely lacks the sophistication of the German side of the island and sometimes feels like a swap meet, but is still a good experience. The promenade was incredibly beautiful pre-1945 but Soviet occupation, ethnic cleansing, and allied bombs destroyed what was once one of the most beautiful spots on the Baltic. Everyone working here is nice and friendly. Prices of the shops and restaurants are roughly the same as on the German side. So it has a bit of post-communism Eastern European feel with EU prices.
Ian L — Google review
Spotlessly clean. Lot of restaurants and other shops. Surprisingly not very busy considering the lovely warm day. But the beach looked full.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Shopping Gallery Corso is a three-story retail center that boasts popular brand-name stores, a cinema, and a restaurant. Although the mall is not very large, it maintains cleanliness throughout. While it does not have a grocery store, Rossmann is available as an alternative. The majority of the outlets primarily specialize in clothing, accompanied by a small food court at the entrance and a centrally located coffee shop.
This shopping mall is really huge and offers an impressive variety of stores, from luxury brands to budget-friendly options. The spacious layout makes it easy to navigate, and the food court has plenty of choices for every taste. With entertainment areas, a cinema, and family-friendly facilities, it’s more than just a shopping destination—it’s a full-day experience. Parking is plentiful, though weekends can get very crowded. Overall, it’s a great place for shopping, dining, and leisure under one roof.
Darminas P — Google review
It's not a huge shopping mall like in Warsaw Nevertheless You can get everything you need here... but don't buy or sell cell phones or other electronic devices. They charge high prices and give you for a device around 1350 € (just under 6000 pln) in an A1 condition and even as good as new.... If he only wanted to give me 2000 PLN, he would say 4500 PLN. Would that be ok, they make so and always profits.
Shawn C — Google review
Fraud with parking fee! Parking rules are written in polish, so turists can not understand the system. 90 min is free, you need to pay in advance if you want to stay longer. I was paying extra after I came back. At the same time I got a ticket from a unfriendly person. Even I showed him new ticket he didn‘t care. Fine is 150 PLN. Never come back to this center.
Martin E — Google review
Small, busy but a nice experience. Don't miss the café on the lower floor.

From cinema too icreams , that shopping center it’s amazing 🤩

Not so big mall but it is clean. they have almost everything.. only theirs no grocery but they have Rossmann. Most of the outlets are garments. They a little food court in the entrnace and a coffee shop at the center. A small electronic store, sport shop and money exchange. and a good enough parking spaces. And a public toilet too!
Alvin A — Google review
Nice shops be it it bit too many clothes. A bit more variety would be good. However, overall a nice experience. Feels safe. Toilets very clean!
Wouter H — Google review
Nice little shopping mall with the basic chain stores present in bigger Polish shopping malls and a cinema. Sadly very few food options. A no name restaurant only. No McD/KFC even, which seem to be standard in most Polish malls

Restaurant
Barbecue restaurant

Kurna Chata is a charming eatery with a laid-back atmosphere and a seaside vibe. The restaurant offers local specialties such as dumplings and meat dishes, served in an exquisite and unconventional manner. Originally a wooden inn with a bonfire pit in the 1960s, it unfortunately burned down in the late 1980s but was rebuilt at the same location.
I honestly admit that I ate one of the most delicious meals of my life in this restaurant, I went to this restaurant with 4 of my friends for lunch, the service was excellent, the appetizer was prepared quickly, I ordered fish soup and it was really delicious. For the main dish, I also ordered fish fillet, which tasted very nice. I also tasted a little of my friends' food. All the dishes were perfect and attractive. I experienced the festival of flavors and I recommend it to others. Don't miss it.
Mojtaba H — Google review
The food is delicious and portions are big. We had the fish plate it was for 4 people , we ordered it for 2 and we took away the rest. We paid for the whole 230 zloty
Neda N — Google review
You have to queue and wait for a table here, as they don't take reservations. We waited about 40 minutes and finally got a table. The ambiance is lovely, the menu is multilingual and focused on Polish cuisine. We ordered in Polish, but they also speak German and English. The food was delicious, the service very attentive, and the portions were generous. Perhaps the Rosół could have been a bit more spicy for my taste, but that's a matter of taste. Allergens were taken into account. We would definitely come back for a casual dinner. Highly recommended.
Nata J — Google review
the cuisine is excellent, we ordered with a large group, all the food is super. Such chefs should be appreciated. However, the service is bad, older women brought up in the spirit of the USSR (everyone owes them), we waited for the menu for about 20 minutes. And after the meal we were told that the bill would be shared, despite our disagreement (some wanted to spend the remaining zlotys before leaving). We were told categorically no. But this did not spoil the incredible quality of the food.
Artem T — Google review
Delicious food at reasonable prices. The portions are so big that we had to bring some of the leftovers home with us. Would highly recommend, if you’re looking to try some authentic polish food. Also the service is 10/10.
Jana P — Google review
Typical Polish restaurant; nostalgic, beautiful ambience. The food was extraordinary delicious. The service very attentive and nice.

Friendly staff, great food, hearty portions, nice ambience. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait, so would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand if you want to go for dinner.

We decided to wait in queue, it was superb choice in small city. First time tried zurek, amazing soup. It is really hard to move even fingers after such delicious dinner with huge portions. Highly recommend to visit! Unbelievable 😎

Western Fort is a coastal fort with cannons, bunkers, and defensive gates that was initially built in the 1850s and later expanded by subsequent forces. It was constructed as an artillery and observation point of the Swinoujscie Fortress during the reign of Frederick William IV, King of Prussia. The fort has a museum showcasing military architecture and exhibits various weapons used by different armies throughout history.
Looking at pictures from 20 years ago it's incredible what was done here. Preserving history is always important, regardless of if it's 85 years old or 850 years old. Very good!
Daniel Z — Google review
Top marks for a fantastic attraction. The Muzeum part contains many artifacts and exhibits, there are larger pieces of weapons displayed throughout the fort. The most intriguing, interesting and though provoking were the grounds, with the buildings which were open for exploration. These are some magnificent structures, labirynt of secrets and history. When in Świnoujście, it's a must to visit this fort.
Monika G — Google review
The place is amazing, especially if you like ww2 weapons and artillery. It has lots of amazing information about the history of the bunker, HOWEVER, the tickets were 20zł each and the information is only partly in English! Most things only have German and Polish text so be advised before going here.
Deni Z — Google review
Short walk from the beach. Awesome fort to visit and very inexpensive. In the woods so a nice stroll. You get to go through all the bunkers and learn the history of all the armies who used this fort to include Prussians, Russians, Nazis and of course the Poles. The museum has so many bombs, rockets, and guns to look at as well as a large catalog of pictures. Definitely worth seeing. Not good for those with difficulty walking as these are ruins so you should be healthy to climb stairs and hills.

Angels Fort, also known as the Prussian castle, is a historical site built in 1858 and is the last remaining Prussian garrison globally. It now houses the Swinoujscies Museum of Coastal Defence since 2010. The museum boasts an extensive collection of exhibits related to the history of World Wars I and II, including weapons, uniforms, documents, cannons, and other valuable items.
A beautiful, interesting landmark of the area and a spot to get acquainted with the past of Swinemunde. A very competent and professional staff. Thank you Małgosia and Krystian for your input and kindness. It's a place worth of returning to. Highly recommended.

Realy injoyed. I would have given 5 stars if they had some material in English, the amber mining was good fun with the kids
Mark N — Google review
Great spot to take a breather, have a coffee, make a sanitary stop (wc looks like a portapotty but there are actually ceramic toilet seats inside the blue boxes). The fort exudes an air of faded glory, delapidated, someone made an effort to pimp it up a little, but not enough attractive for me to actually go inside the main building. The amber mine next to the centre structure is probably more for kids and therefore a waste of money I think, also doesn't really belong here. Nice coffee.
Rutger L — Google review
I guess they could do some improvements to receive the tourist there. Just after the entrance there's a rubbish container on the left-side that doesn't smell nice and on the right-side, two public chemical toilets...like, this manager of this museum doesn't have much view on how to make a place attractive to the public. After going through the entrance, I decided not to go in. No way!!

Fort protecting the western entrance of the Oder River delta.
Gerard — Google review
Nice little museum. The sight and the possibility to relax on the roof are well worth it. For kids the armory is especially interesting, as you are allowed to touch and even wear the armor and weapons there for photos for example. In the upper floors you can find out more about the history of the fort. The complete museum takes only about 30-45 minutes to explore, but it was well worth the small entrance fee of 2,50 Euro. Afterwards you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the yard of the fort. Also nice staff that speaks german well so you don't need great polish skills to communicate. Greetings from Germany and we will gladly visit you again! 🙂

Stawa Młyny is a historic symbol of Swinoujscie, built in 1874 as a windmill-shaped beacon to guide ships into the Port from the Baltic Sea. Standing 10 meters tall and painted white with a black roof, it has become a popular tourist attraction for photos and tours. Despite being smaller than expected, visitors enjoy sitting in the sun while watching ships pass by.
Was cold and windy when we went but just seemed to fit where we were. You may get wet but will probably just get your shoes wet walking there and back. Amazing views. Great photo opportunity. Worth every step. Enjoy! Parking is fairly close but You have to pay for it Again. Worth it.

It is really one of the most representative places in Swinoujscie so u can take a walk by the seaside upon arrival from the train station in the morning, visit the Stawa Mlyny and then follow the path by the canal as well.

Gerhard's Fort in Świnoujście is a well-preserved 19th-century Prussian coastal fort that forms part of the Swinoujscie Fortress. It offers guided tours showcasing historic artillery and engaging military training experiences under the supervision of a Prussian soldier. Since 2010, it has housed the Swinoujscies Museum of Coastal Defence, featuring thousands of exhibits including weapons, uniforms, documents, cannons, and memorabilia from both World Wars.
Absolutely splendid place, an interesting museum with rich exhibits for both regular tourists and military enthusiasts. Great people and very funny, enjoyable reenactments. Highly recommended! Please support them in unblocking the direct passage, or just go visit-it’s very much worth it.

Very interesting place. There are many different artifacts on display from different periods of time. As this is a fort from the 18th century it doesn't just have artifacts from the 2nd world war which makes it even more interesting. A lot of the chambers the barracks and munitions complex are not used or not accessable which I find disappointing. They could help house the many artifacts so that the barrack reduit wouldn't be so crammed.

Gerhard Fort in Świnoujście is a fascinating historical site that offers a deep dive into the region’s military past. The fort is well-preserved and packed with interesting exhibits. The real highlight, though, is the guided tour by Sergeant Darek. His passion, knowledge, and engaging storytelling truly bring the history of the fort to life. If you visit, make sure to join one of his tours—it's an experience you won’t forget!

Great guided tour – informative, comprehensive, and delivered with humor. Definitely worth recommending! Tip: I booked the round trip in advance, which included the admission fee and a German-speaking guide. For tours in Polish and just visits for Polish speaking people, it might be different and just go there is fine. Note: At the moment, you need to cross the Świna River by ferry, as there doesn’t appear to be a land route available, for the time being.

Very interesting old fort, unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes due to heavy rain the days before we arrived. Some of the guides speak good English.
Johan G — Google review
Great place for anyone who likes guns. First you walk around the outside and then at the end of the tour you enter the museum, which is the main part. There is not enough labels and signs that would tell what gun exactly are you looking at and if there is, its only in polish. Also dont hesitate going through the tunnels, at first we weren't sure whether you are supposed to go there, but you are. The museum offers ALOT, original historical guns, uniforms, aa,at guns, grenades, ammo... plenty, but it is all kinda piled up and chaotic and again with not enough labels.

We could not go here. Because of the LNG terminal and safety measures it was not possible to get there by land. We never found out where the very is, so we dint get there.
Freddy — Google review
Fun and interesting, no guide in English sadly, just Polish and German.

Lighthouses
The Świnoujście Lighthouse, the tallest in Poland, is a restored 1857 yellow brick lighthouse offering panoramic water views from its top reached by 300 steps. Situated in a city with around 40,000 residents, it's a popular tourist destination known for beautiful beaches and historic architecture. The lighthouse underwent major restoration in 2000 and now welcomes visitors to enjoy stunning views of Swinoujscie and the region from its elevated position on Wolin Island.
It's the perfect place to view Świnoujście. In order to get on the top you need to buy a boat trip. Otherwise you can take a picture only from the bottom.

The highest and the furthest (if coming from Gdańsk) polish lighthouse ⚓️ The culmination of the route, 280 steps and stunning views, it's very windy and breathtaking at the top. Open surprisingly long. Probably it will be hard to get to, not sure about the public transport. Drone flights are available after check in.
Uliana F — Google review
Great view on the port and sea from above. It is worth to climb that 300 stairs.
Tomáš E — Google review
Beautiful view, but scary if you have fear of heights.
MapiMog — Google review
Somewhat underwhelming. If you want to queue for about an hour you can walk to the top, otherwise there is no view. The journey there goes through a heavily industrial area.
Ian W — Google review
Great view, over 160 years history and 300 stairs. 8pln entry fee

Kawcza Góra is a renowned spot in Wolin National Park, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Baltic Sea. Accessible via wooden stairs from a sandy beach, it's an ideal place to admire the coastal beauty. While the view from the top may be partially obstructed by trees, descending the stairs reveals picturesque photo opportunities. Visitors can reach this refreshing location either from Kawcza Góra or from the charming beach below.
Soo beautiful place, and view from the stairs to beach and see is indescribably stunning 😍

Nice views. Great stair walk way on the cliff connecting the beach and forest.

really nice place to visit. I recommend having some cash with you because there are some fun game machines that need coins near by
Ahmad Y — Google review
Actually this view point without stairs, people attach the wrong photos. But it is still interesting and has gazebo. And the stairs to the beach are not far away in 3 minutes walk. entrance to the park is paid - 9 PLN, you can pay by card or cash. The weather was windy and I caught a cold at the top, even though I was wearing pants and shirt in 22 degrees.

Sofa Bistro Świnoujście is an Italian pizzeria located in Swinoujscie, Poland. The bistro offers a menu with a variety of delicious pizzas and other Italian dishes. The chef and the staff ensure that all the dishes served have a perfect taste throughout the day. Customers have praised the tasty food, attentive service, and tasteful presentation of the meals.
If I had to recommend one restaurant in Świnoujście, it would be this one. The menu is nice and compact. The prices are a little higher, but still acceptable. I really like the interior of the place. The food was extremely well prepared and really tasty. The team was friendly. I was able to pay by credit card.

Nice place, good atmosphere. We had Lunch and drinks. The food is sadly on the low side of quality but the drinks are good. Maybe it's better in the evening
Jak. B — Google review
Very good lunch with soup and then a selection of two dishes to choose from. Tasty, reasonably prised, or even rather cheap. Well served, friendly, with smile, saw even dogs being admitted!!!

(Translated by Google) We visited this restaurant with a small child because of a hotel stay at ApartPark. It was quite empty despite the summer holidays, so we had some initial concerns. But these were unfounded. The service staff was very friendly, which is unusual for Poland. The restaurant has a very modern interior. The prices are reasonable, and we enjoyed our meal immensely. We didn't have a long wait. However, the drinks only arrived after the appetizer, after we had ordered them... And unfortunately, sauces aren't very popular in Poland... What a shame. We would have preferred a smaller glass for our 2-year-old, and unfortunately, there was no children's cutlery even though we had two children's meals. We were still satisfied. The 10% discount was accepted without any problems.
