Stawa Młyny is a historic symbol of Swinoujscie, built in 1874 as a windmill-shaped beacon to guide ships into the Port from the Baltic Sea. Standing 10 meters tall and painted white with a black roof, it has become a popular tourist attraction for photos and tours. Despite being smaller than expected, visitors enjoy sitting in the sun while watching ships pass by.
Was cold and windy when we went but just seemed to fit where we were. You may get wet but will probably just get your shoes wet walking there and back. Amazing views. Great photo opportunity. Worth every step. Enjoy! Parking is fairly close but You have to pay for it Again. Worth it.
Bobbi S — Google review
A beautiful lighthouse worth visiting. There are a lot of photography scope there. The water splashes on the rocks so nicely. If you are lucky, you might see big ships passing the canal.
Ariful H — Google review
Beautiful, yet too many people around. Perfect during sunset time.
Lydia C — Google review
Just as a tourist attraction, it's not something you want to go there just to visit the lighthouse. But if you go to the adjacent beach why not just have a closer look, considering the fact that there is history attached to it.
Mir H — Google review
Stawa Młyny is such a charming spot! A cute windmill-shaped beacon right at the end of the breakwater, with amazing sea views and gorgeous sunsets. Perfect for a relaxing walk, taking photos, or just enjoying the fresh Baltic breeze. Definitely a must-see if you’re in Świnoujście. More photos & travel diary on @eunikaway on Instagram.

This beacon in the shape of a windmill looks very cute, the size is about 10 meters in height; painted white with a black roof. It is really one of the most representative places in Swinoujscie so u can take a walk by the seaside upon arrival from the train station in the morning, visit the Stawa Mlyny and then follow the path by the canal as well.

Gerhard's Fort in Świnoujście is a well-preserved 19th-century Prussian coastal fort that forms part of the Swinoujscie Fortress. It offers guided tours showcasing historic artillery and engaging military training experiences under the supervision of a Prussian soldier. Since 2010, it has housed the Swinoujscies Museum of Coastal Defence, featuring thousands of exhibits including weapons, uniforms, documents, cannons, and memorabilia from both World Wars.
Absolutely splendid place, an interesting museum with rich exhibits for both regular tourists and military enthusiasts. Great people and very funny, enjoyable reenactments. Highly recommended! Please support them in unblocking the direct passage, or just go visit-it’s very much worth it.
Alter. D — Google review
Very interesting place. There are many different artifacts on display from different periods of time. As this is a fort from the 18th century it doesn't just have artifacts from the 2nd world war which makes it even more interesting. A lot of the chambers the barracks and munitions complex are not used or not accessable which I find disappointing. They could help house the many artifacts so that the barrack reduit wouldn't be so crammed.
Anders L — Google review
Gerhard Fort in Świnoujście is a fascinating historical site that offers a deep dive into the region’s military past. The fort is well-preserved and packed with interesting exhibits. The real highlight, though, is the guided tour by Sergeant Darek. His passion, knowledge, and engaging storytelling truly bring the history of the fort to life. If you visit, make sure to join one of his tours—it's an experience you won’t forget!
Szymon W — Google review
Great guided tour – informative, comprehensive, and delivered with humor. Definitely worth recommending! Tip: I booked the round trip in advance, which included the admission fee and a German-speaking guide. For tours in Polish and just visits for Polish speaking people, it might be different and just go there is fine. Note: At the moment, you need to cross the Świna River by ferry, as there doesn’t appear to be a land route available, for the time being.
Andreas H — Google review
Very interesting old fort, unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes due to heavy rain the days before we arrived. Some of the guides speak good English.
Johan G — Google review
Great place for anyone who likes guns. First you walk around the outside and then at the end of the tour you enter the museum, which is the main part. There is not enough labels and signs that would tell what gun exactly are you looking at and if there is, its only in polish. Also dont hesitate going through the tunnels, at first we weren't sure whether you are supposed to go there, but you are. The museum offers ALOT, original historical guns, uniforms, aa,at guns, grenades, ammo... plenty, but it is all kinda piled up and chaotic and again with not enough labels.
Filip V — Google review
We could not go here. Because of the LNG terminal and safety measures it was not possible to get there by land. We never found out where the very is, so we dint get there.

Western Fort is a coastal fort with cannons, bunkers, and defensive gates that was initially built in the 1850s and later expanded by subsequent forces. It was constructed as an artillery and observation point of the Swinoujscie Fortress during the reign of Frederick William IV, King of Prussia. The fort has a museum showcasing military architecture and exhibits various weapons used by different armies throughout history.
Looking at pictures from 20 years ago it's incredible what was done here. Preserving history is always important, regardless of if it's 85 years old or 850 years old. Very good!
Daniel Z — Google review
Top marks for a fantastic attraction. The Muzeum part contains many artifacts and exhibits, there are larger pieces of weapons displayed throughout the fort. The most intriguing, interesting and though provoking were the grounds, with the buildings which were open for exploration. These are some magnificent structures, labirynt of secrets and history. When in Świnoujście, it's a must to visit this fort.
Monika G — Google review
The place is amazing, especially if you like ww2 weapons and artillery. It has lots of amazing information about the history of the bunker, HOWEVER, the tickets were 20zł each and the information is only partly in English! Most things only have German and Polish text so be advised before going here.
Deni Z — Google review
Short walk from the beach. Awesome fort to visit and very inexpensive. In the woods so a nice stroll. You get to go through all the bunkers and learn the history of all the armies who used this fort to include Prussians, Russians, Nazis and of course the Poles. The museum has so many bombs, rockets, and guns to look at as well as a large catalog of pictures. Definitely worth seeing. Not good for those with difficulty walking as these are ruins so you should be healthy to climb stairs and hills.

The Underground City, also known as Vineta Battery, is a historical site with bunkers dating back to the 1930s. Originally built by the Germans before World War II, it was later used by the Soviets during the war and then taken over by the Polish army. The complex features command rooms and displays of tanks and weapons from WWII and communist times. Guided tours offer a unique roleplay military training experience, providing insight into the Cold War era.
It is definitely worth a visit. It is an advantage to know Polish, but even as a foreigner I understood a little, especially if you know something about history. Apparently the explanation was sometimes interspersed with jokes, but only Polish speakers understood. Parking is free at the entrance, admission 50 zł, but cash only! Toilets are available. Spray with repellent, there are a lot of mosquitoes everywhere and you walk through the forest for a while. It is colder inside the underground city, a sweater is an advantage. We enjoyed the tour.
Marta V — Google review
Quite interesting and priced reasonably. Nice presentation of cold war climate, particularly for the youngsters Road marking totally insufficient, actually misleading (in order to get to the spot, you need to pass where according to the signs you are not allowed to)
Wojciech F — Google review
Fantastic tour, our guide was a very enthusiastic young gentleman who definitely knows the subject. We were lucky to visit the place in April so we had individual tour. Definitely worth to visit to feel the atmosphere and learn about more about cold war.
Aleksandra P — Google review
Very cool location, however the tour was very disappointing especially for the price. The group was way too large for the tight corridors, and the tour guide didn't give us almost any information, and when he did speak, he sounded bored. The exhibition could be very interesting, if the (overly expensive) tour was better organised.
One E — Google review
If you've got a spare one and a half hours, it's definitely worth visiting, but there's one big setback: the whole excursion is in Polish. So unless you have a native speaker with you, you'll have no idea what the guide is talking about. But apparently, it's funny. What I caught from the excursion, you get to know the history of the bunker and how it was operated. But even if you don't know their language you still get to see the manumental insides of the bunker. The price was smth like 50PLN per adult. They take CASH ONLY, so keep an eye on that.
Mathias S — Google review
Great place along the local forts to visit if you're a history buff, especially when it comes to 20th century history. Knowledgeable and friendly guides (cosplaying a Polish People's Republic soldier) who take you around the ex top secret command center for in case **** hits the fan during the cold war. I had my second visit here after 10 years and can tell that the exposition gets updated and the site is kept well cared for. Be sure to check the website in advance for the tour times (fixed entry times, depending on a day!), and in which language the tour will take place. Ours was in Polish, but the guide spoke English in case of questions, as well there were paper guides with all info available in at least 4 languages.
Michał C — Google review
It was amazing, I visited a Polskie tour, but the guide answered my questions in good english. Flyer was a must read before start. 👍
Patty P — Google review
A collection of bunkers from the WW2 and communist times. There's not a whole lot to see there except for the main command rooms but the tour guides make it a roleplay military training tour which makes the whole thing a lot more interesting. As far as I know the tours are only available in Polish

The Museum of Sea Fishery in Swinoujscie is a fascinating attraction dedicated to the rich history of fishing in the region. It offers an educational experience where visitors can explore various types of fish found in the Baltic Sea and learn about traditional fishing tools and techniques. The museum features static displays showcasing a variety of sea creatures, including albatrosses, sharks, and seals, as well as an array of fishing equipment and model ships.
If you visit Świnoujście ,you should visit this museum because you can enjoy with fish museum and inside also have story about boat etc. The uncle guide for this museum also kindness, him is explaining all story ,how's going on story here. 😊

This place is good they have different alive fishes in the aquarium and they are in different colors and shape. Moreover they also have skeletons from different fishes and bones from large ancient fishes. But the place is small not to big, you can spend maximum 30-40 min there. It cost 12€ for 2.
Nahian C — Google review
Lots of interesting objects with polish/German descriptions. Alas all opportunities to explain are ridden over and the connection between adjacent exhibits is obtuse. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
John B — Google review
Nice little museum with a lot of different models of sea creatures and a good history recap for the area. Museum is located in former town hall. Only minor point is the big fish in the small tank in ground floor. Looks not happy and deserves a much bigger tank for his size and maybe a friend.
Steve M — Google review
Nice fishing museum, but the aquariums are far too small for the big fish!
Mathéo J — Google review
The piraña is miserable, its aquarium is the smallest and devoid of anything. The moray eel has to constantly live folded as its aquarium is too small too. In addition, there is dangerous fallacious information about the so called therapeutic "powers" of amber.
Kjaran M — Google review
We got the pleasure to discover many sea monsters, fishes and birds. The museum also exposes onboard ships appliances, machines and ship small factor reproductions.
Alexandre J — Google review

The Museum of the History of the Fortress Świnoujście was constructed between 1854-1858 as an artillery and observation point. The Świnoujście Lighthouse, the tallest in Poland, is a restored 1857 yellow brick lighthouse offering panoramic water views from its top reached by 300 steps. Situated in a city with around 40,000 residents, it's a popular tourist destination known for beautiful beaches and historic architecture. The lighthouse underwent major restoration in 2000 and now welcomes visitors to enjoy stunning views of Swinoujscie and the region from its elevated position on Wolin Island.

Observation Tower Ahlbeck is a historic structure that was once part of the Protestant church of Martin Luther, which was destroyed during World War II. It is situated near a thermal bath and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. Visitors can access the tower for a nominal fee and enjoy breathtaking vistas from its upper levels. Despite some maintenance issues such as a broken elevator, the tower provides an unforgettable experience with its stunning views.
(Translated by Google) Tower near the thermal pool. Entry in July 2022 = 1 euro. Have a 1 euro coin, there is no cashier, there is no one there at all, throw the coin in and go through the spinner. There is an elevator, it took us to the 4th floor, then we had to walk 20 meters up a relatively narrow staircase. The elevator arrived back, but refused to take us down. We went down on foot, and the elevator was no longer called from the entrance either. Probably broke))) We were on this tower after visiting the Baumwipfelpfad Usedom in Heringsdorf and doubted whether it was worth going here, since the Baumwipfelpfad Usedom is higher and the views are almost the same. But given the low cost, don’t regret 1 euro and go up - the tower is good in its own way.

(Translated by Google) The thermal baths are very nicely located and also have reasonable entry fees, especially if you want to go to the sauna. The 3-hour ticket costs €15 and the day ticket only costs €18. Unfortunately, there is only food until 5 p.m., perhaps due to a lack of staff Otherwise you can also have a drink, this is only possible in the bathing area. Also for families with children Highly recommended due to the numerous different basins with beautiful decorations, very good taste.

12Zachodni Fort Artyleryjski

Mentioned on

Building
Zachodni Fort Artyleryjski, a historical site with roots dating back to the Prussian era, served as a military stronghold designed to safeguard the seaport. Following World War II, it became home to Soviet troops until 1962. Today, this expansive area is perfect for exploration and family outings; however, visitors should be mindful of the terrain conditions that may pose challenges for those with strollers.
