The Viking Museum Haithabu, located near Schleswig, Germany, offers a captivating journey into the world of the Vikings. The open-air museum features a village-like setting with recreated houses and a riverside area, providing an immersive experience of Viking culture. Visitors can explore a vast array of excavated artifacts, including ancient weapons, intricate jewelry, and everyday tools that offer insight into the craftsmanship and daily life of the Vikings.
A great place for all who like history and especially the period of Viking culture. A modern facility friendly to visitors. The ticket price is very attractive in relation to the quality of the museum. A place worth visiting
Mateusz B — Google review
It is a really beautiful place all around full of history Unfortunately, I do not speak German and inside the museum there really is very little that can be found with information in English I expected to have more knowledge about what am so passionate about, but that was not the case Still, I recommend the place
Liliana A — Google review
It really is hard to represent this place via pictures. The quiet, the smell, the absolutely immense size of the site... you must go and experience it. The village was built with impressive attention to detail. The animals surrounding the area add to the atmosphere of a time were food was produced close to where it was consumed. The sheep you can actually get close too and approach. Museum staff is adorable! =) Super helpful in setting up the voice guides. Definitely a bucket list item for viking and nature fans. Notes I wish I had before going: 1) It's a huge place! Go with time. At least half a day. The museum closes at 17h, that can complicate an afternoon visit. 2) Start at the museum, it will give you context on the landscape where the village sits. 3) Take food with you. There is a coffee shop there, but limited meal choices. Only one restaurant close by. Decent food, but bit pricey. Not very friendly to foreigners, no English menu. 4) If you are into woods, you can take some extra time to explore the area around. 5) If you go by public transport, remember it's a rural area. Flashier clothes / left leaning symbols may get you an occasional intrigued and not so friendly pair of eyes.. or comments.

A great selection of archaeological artefacts on display. All the written information around is German. They have a audio guide system that I did not try, hopefully it comes in different languages.
Sick M — Google review
Good museum of the Viking Age. For English speakers there is a complete book of reading for the exhibits and you can use your phone for audio and text information. The outdoor recreation of buildings is good but under developed - there is little explanation. A lot more could be done here.
Tim ( — Google review
Very interesting and informative museum of the Viking city of Hedeby. That was a power Center of Denmark in the Viking age.
Allan C — Google review
Absolutely fascinating place with an importance during Viking times that can hardly be exaggerated. Highly recommended!
Christoph — Google review
Very interesting museum and exhibits rather spoilt by poor building design and poor exhibition design. When we visited we had to wait for about 20 minutes outside the entrance before we could buy tickets. What happens when it rains? The entrance building should have been much larger in order to accommodate the large numbers of people who visit. Once we had tickets we had to go outside again to access the exhibition crossing the line of people waiting to buy tickets. Large numbers of the exhibits are badly lit so that it is not possible to read the information cards. Some exhibits are on shelves above eye level so it is not possible to see them! There is very little information in English. At the housing site there is a short leaflet available describing the houses but at the main exhibition there is virtually no information available in English. I am sure that English-speaking visitors would be willing to buy an information booklet in English; it would make the visit so much more enjoyable and informative! So many opportunities have been missed!

Königswiesen Park is a lovely park located on the banks of the Schlei, offering various amenities such as playgrounds and a mini-golf course. It is well-maintained and provides ample parking near the port. The park offers beautiful views of the historic church and has pleasant walking trails. Whether you're looking for a quick stroll or a longer relaxing visit, this tranquil park is an ideal spot to spend time with family and friends.
A very nice park situated directly on the banks of the Schlei. There are a few playgrounds as well as a mini golf course. Great place to spend some time with family and friends. Very well maintained. Good parking options are available as well, at the port. Nice :)

Very nice clean park with a very small dog beach I mean really small. The beach was used by others, that didn't have a dog, even though there is another beach there where dogs aren't allowed. The beach is about 10 meters wide. Besides that a very nice park.

Schleswig Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of St. Peter at Schleswig, is a magnificent example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture with a rich history dating back to the 12th century. The cathedral is an iconic landmark in Schleswig and offers stunning views from across the town and the Schlei. Currently undergoing major restoration, it still remains a must-see attraction, allowing visitors to admire its exquisite carvings and treasures.
Fantastic Cathedral. The famous Brüggeman alter alone is wirth the visit. Many wonderfull carvings and altars
Frank O — Google review
Very impressive, large and newly renovated high to late gothic cathedral. It's impressive by the size alone but there are plenty to see inside as well including a very nice cloister.
Hans N — Google review
Lovely cathedral currently buried under scaffolding and plywood for a major restoration. It is still, worth a visit because they did a great job of placing pictures near the covered objects. You can still see the high altar with its exquisite carving and a few of the other treasures.
JT I — Google review
Colorful, indoor and outdoor, cathedral with excellent and knowledgeable staff at the shop who was able to provide us with additional hindsight in English and with documentation for kids in Danish.
Clément B — Google review
Wonderful pierce of history where Denmark should be more in focus. Authenticity matters & that Germany doesn't give Denmark more credit by expressing gratitude & humility towards a very important Danish church should be reconsidered for future generations.. Fantastic building that gives an important impression of the extreme hardship that was implemented by people to building in such enormous scales of perfection. Absolutely a gem in the area & always worth a visit to enjoy this splendid & supreme monument...

Just walked by for a free small organ concert --- It's a church so the seats are rough and the sound is echoed but hearing a live organ is always a pleasure. There was three peace's played and the middle one was boring and do not matches to an organ.
Meno A — Google review
Beautiful, stripy brick church with gorgeous wall paintings, some of them appearing to be very old (not just 19th century paintings like some we’ve seen in Bremen). Currently under restoration but one can still see quite a lot of the structure (the pulpit and many monuments are covered in dust sheets).

Nestled within the Altstadt of Schleswig, the historic fishing village Holm exudes an undeniable charm that is hard to put into words without resorting to superlatives. This quaint community takes immense pride in its pristine surroundings, with small houses encircling a church and graveyard. Visitors can soak in the tranquil atmosphere and perhaps even encounter a local fisherman willing to share tales of this picturesque locale.
How to describe Holm, it is hard without using superlatives like stunning and beautiful. It is first and foremost a fishing village and a community that takes huge pride in their place. It is just a collection of small houses around a church and graveyard but everything is so pristine.

A Hidden Gem – The Historic Village of Holm in Schleswig-Holstein Walking along the scenic Schleswig seaside promenade, I unexpectedly stumbled upon the old village of Holm. I wasn’t looking for it, so discovering it felt like uncovering a secret—a wonderful surprise! This is a very old fishing village, dating back to the days of the Vikings, and its charm is absolutely timeless. Narrow alleys wind between rows of tiny, colourful houses, each one unique in structure and hue. The facades are adorned with climbing roses, their heavenly scent filling the air as you wander past. It’s the kind of place where time seems to stand stil. every corner feels like stepping into a living postcard. The peacefulness, history, and fairytale-like beauty make Holm a must-visit for anyone exploring Schleswig-Holstein. If you love quaint villages with deep history and picture-perfect scenery, Holm will steal your heart. I left feeling like I had discovered something truly magical. A hidden treasure.

Seafood restaurant
The Schleimöwe seafood restaurant in Holm is a charming, maritime-themed tavern that offers an array of delicious fish dishes. Their menu includes North German herring, smoked salmon, and fried fish, all cooked to perfection. The quality of the fish is exceptional and the simplicity of their preparation adds to the overall appeal. This small and cozy restaurant has a lovely staff that provides excellent service.
Special local place with great local seafood and traditional Northern German dishes. They do not accept credit cards!
Thorsten S — Google review
Nestled in the charming, historic village of Holm in Schleswig, the Schleimöwe fish restaurant occupies a delightful old school building, immediately setting the scene for a traditional experience. Be warned: its popularity is well-deserved! Attempting a walk-in, we found the place completely booked – a testament to its local reputation. However, the enticing aroma of freshly cooked seafood and the welcoming glimpse of its homestyle, maritime decor convinced us immediately to secure a table for the following day. It was a decision we didn't regret. Diverse & Delicious Menu. The menu offers a wonderfully diverse selection across all courses, catering to various tastes. We started with soup: the **fish soup** and the **crab soup**. Both were exemplary – beautifully creamy yet light, packed with delicate little chunks of fish or crab. They were flavourful without being heavy or overwhelming, a perfect introduction and overall very tasty. Portion Size & Value - A Standout Feature: This brings us to Schleimöwe's most consistent and impressive strength: portion size and value for money. This theme resonated throughout our meal. Our second course was the Maties fish, served simply with bread. The Maties itself was delicate, perfectly seasoned, and delicious. Once again, the generous portion size relative to the price offered fantastic value. For our main courses, we opted for two of the fish platters (each featuring 3 different types of fish) and one complete Forelle (trout). The platters are a great way to sample variety, as the fish can be prepared fried, oven-cooked, or steamed to your preference. All dishes come accompanied by either excellent house pan-fried potatoes or a fresh green salad. The portions were again very substantial – truly satisfying, ensuring no one left the table hungry. The quality of the fish was evident, cooked simply to let the fresh flavours shine. Yet again, Schleimöwe delivered exceptional **value for money.** **Essential Practical Note:** One crucial detail for potential visitors: Schleimöwe operates on a cash-only basis.Ensure you come prepared with cash, as cards are not accepted. Don't let this small logistical point catch you out!
Uri M — Google review
The place has been in existence for 50 years, apparently, so they know what they're doing by now. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and were given a table immediately. The fried plaice in breadcrumbs was perfectly prepared and the lady brought us another helping of fried potatoes at no extra cost.
Graham M — Google review

Steak house
Nestled in a charming location, Happy Rancho is a delightful restaurant that offers an array of Argentinian steaks, grill platters, and schnitzels. This inviting venue features a bright atmosphere with a lovely terrace where you can enjoy your meal. The interior resembles a cozy two-story house, creating an intimate dining experience with simple decor that adds to its charm. Very tasty food and big portions. Has a local touch to it. We were sitting on the first floor with a fine view of the old buildings around us. Friendly and effective service. No problems adjusting the food to my needs (diabetic). Dogfriendly. Fair prices. Had an outdoor area, but it was not ready for guests.

Ruben R — Google review
Steak restaurant in Schleswig off the main Street. Place looks more like a two story house that was converted to a restaurant. Lower flor with around 10 tables and upper flor heaving two large rooms with more 10 tables each. Very simple decore and tables what influences the place atmosphere. Large selection of starters, main and salads. Grilled meat selection is also very nice and with resonable prices. Tried the rump stake, 220 gr., that comes with pomes. Requested medium rare and that exactly what i got. Pomes were great in taste and no frying oil remains. Service was very slow across all tables around us. Overall, steak was great and deserves the points.
Uri M — Google review
We had a great meal at Happy Rancho. Prices were fair and the two waiters upstairs were attentive and polite. That in itself deserved 5 stars. However, the table reserving and arrival was a bit hectic, which gave a less flattering first impression. Also we were placed in a room with two large groups and very bad acoustics, so we had trouble hearing each other. Not suitable for a romantic date😉 That being said; Still a recommendable place!
Carina K — Google review
Family business. Good food. Fare prices
Rotem S — Google review
Pleasant place and generous menu. I found this place on a map and thought to check it out. The locatin of the restaurant is very nice. It is near a plaza and there is a parking location not far away. You can combine a lunch or a dinner with a tour to the surrounding location. I ordered the local beer "Flensburger Pilsener" which was a ligth beer but a little bitter. For the main course, I've ordered the "Grillteller" which is a mixed grill. It includes a pork cutlet, a nice piece of bacon, and two pork steaks. The meat is accompanied by fries, rice, and some veggies. The restaurant provides a free WiFi for the customers which had connection problems, but hey! you're here to enjoy the food and socialize and not surf the web as you eat.

Whether you're a beer enthusiast or simply looking for a delightful meal, Luzifer caters to all tastes with its classic German dishes and an array of coffee and pastries.

Worst burger ever. Or actaully since 1996. This prefabricated beef they used was a thin well done aka well killed thing that just made me think about becoming a vegan... and I love meat by all of my heart. The only thing that let me go up a star was the ambience of the place. Really beautifull room, full of story and character. So sad that the food does not follow this. You could make a perfect eating experience here if only they actually cooked at the stoves.
Brian S — Google review
Asgaard beer was very tasty. Sitting outside in May in the sun was very pleasant.
Min S — Google review
Wonderful place for just a beer or a nice dinner. The restaurant is utilized in an old train depot building. The design itself is intimate and comfortable. It is possible to sit indoors as well as outdoors. The restaurant brews a local beer which is called "ASGAARD". The beer is an unfiltered dark. It begins the jurney at the bronze cattle and then it is transferred to an aluminium reservoir, from which it is then moved to two big aluminium containers and then to a couple of small ones for storage. The beer tastes good and gives nice feeling. I ordered the "Filet-Medallions vom Schwein". The dish is made of two pork medallions in asgaard honey sauce, fresh season vegetables, and potato with rismarine. The restaurant crew was very polite and helpful. I asked to see the brewing process and they showed me the entire process components and their locations in a small tour.
Pavel S — Google review
Food was alright, however, there was no menu in English which made it hard to order and they also forgot to mention that you can't pay with credit card. They knew we didn't understand German, so even if there was a sign saying it, how should we have known.

We were in Greece last year and felt a bit nostalgic about the good food, good wine and good times we had there. This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. We'll definitely be back.

This place was recommended by friends who said it was excellent. Honestly the worst souvlaki ever. It wasn't even souvlaki, just a piece of steak on a skewer cooked in a striped frying pan. Looking at the menu, I was already sceptical as the list was huge and proposing many non-Greek specialities or German/Greek mixed dishes. The staff was kind, they offered us Ouzo... but it came just before the meal.

Gottorf Castle, a 16th-century fortress located on Schleswig Museum Island, houses national art and archaeology museums along with a restaurant. Originally built in the 12th century, the castle has undergone various architectural transformations over the centuries. The site features an impressive collection of artifacts dating back to the castle's origins and includes a well-presented display of the Nydamboat, a 23-meter Viking boat found nearby.
Amazing castle! Spend the whole day here, it’s really worthy

During our trip to Denmark, we made a stop at Gottorf Castle (Schloss Gottorf) and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The castle is located in a picturesque spot surrounded by beautiful trees and lush green areas, offering a peaceful atmosphere. The numerous sculptures scattered around the grounds add a unique artistic flair, making the castle even more iconic and memorable. Although it’s not a luxury castle, it holds a lot of historical charm. The cozy coffee shop outside was perfect for a quick break, and the convenient parking space made it easy to rest during our journey. Gottorf Castle is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area – a great blend of culture, history, and nature that provides a perfect stopover on a long drive.

An excellent, detail oriented museum combining ongoing exhibitions on regional art, culture and history as well as special ones. As it is quite large it is advisable to plan according to own points of interest beforehand, as there is a lot to see.

Great Museum. Spent the day here and didn't get to see everything. The Palace has 2 Museums, one of the local history, the other of Art and Culture. There were also 2 art exhibitions, 1 one of which was included in the price of €10, the other was 5€ extra. The Gardens and park were free, the Globus in the gardens is an extra 3€. Great value for money. Highly recomended. Haitabu, Schleswig, Kappeln and the Schlei are all very close by.

Amazing collection showing pieces from the county from the building of the original castle back in the 1100s. No English translation on the individual exhibits, but a nice description in general of each room on a display stand. The Nydamboot display, a 23m viking boat found in a nearby bog, in a separate building is very well done. We didn't have tune to see the baroque gardens, the archaeological exhibit, or the other art displays in the stable buildings, so definitely a reason to go back again.
Zebbedea — Google review
A hidden gem of a museum, just outside of Schleswig at the Schlei (Sly Firth). Stone Age tools, Bog bodies, Iron Age relics, an old rowboat that is close to 1800 years old, and so much more await in this very well curated museum. A great overview over human activity reaching back thousands of years, in what is now northern Germany and southern Denmark. Many signs are in German and Danish only, but English reference text and possibly audio are available.

The Schleswig-Holstein Landesmuseum, located in Schloss Gottorf, is a treasure trove of art and history. The museum houses an impressive collection of art, including paintings by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Despite ongoing construction work, visitors can enjoy the friendly staff and a small self-service cafeteria on site. The museum is set in a beautiful old building with extensive gardens that make for a picturesque visit.

(Translated by Google) It didn't start well...access over the small wooden bridge was closed, no clues. Then the exhibition was in the main building and not in the riding hall... you could get upset... but you didn't have to! The extremely nice staff sorted everything out in a friendly manner. Despite the construction phase, there was a small self-service cafeteria. Nice and functionally furnished. The fine arts exhibition in SH was also worth the visit. And so it was a nice experience. Thank you! (Translated by Google) The museum is good, but not outstanding. A whole part consists of pictures and paintings that no one looks at anyway - other exhibits on topics like the Middle Ages, the Stone Age, etc. of which there are certainly enough to show, would be much more appropriate and interesting for a large number of people. How many people go to a museum for paintings that mostly consist of lines or for the thousandth painted river? I don't know anyone. Food and drink are incredibly expensive. The employees, especially the security guards, are all very friendly.

What was incredibly annoying: We were one of the few visitors on weekdays and our tickets were checked OUTRAGEOUSLY OFTEN by EVERY employee on EVERY floor SEVERAL TIMES! I ended up doing a rain dance in front of every attendant with my ticket high above my head (Original) Ja, sehr sehenswert und man muß Zeit mitbringen oder sich gezielt auf Teilbereiche beschränken. Nestled within the enchanting Baroque Garden, the Gottorfer Globus is a captivating attraction that invites visitors to explore its intricate design and historical significance. This remarkable globe, originally crafted between 1650 and 1664, offers a unique glimpse into the cosmos through an engaging audio guide that enhances your experience with fascinating insights about the starry sky.
It’s a great place to visit when the weather is nice! Loved the visit but couldn’t walk a lot around the garden because they close at 5pm However, it was very beautiful and very worth it!! Question: Does anyone know why there are so many monkeys?
Karol G — Google review
Very cool experience! Highly recommend the audio guide. It explains interesting details of the globe that I wouldn’t have known otherwise. The staff are also very friendly. They let me experience the inside of the globe as it spun despite being very close to closing. The inside is very cool, you can see an artistic rendition of all the constellations.

The audio guide can be taken with you to the Baroque Garden, where it also provided some additional explanations. The program was so diverse and well thought out that there was something for every taste and every age. For the adults there were great concerts, exciting readings and art installations that appealed to all the senses. I particularly liked the mix of well-known artists and emerging talents - it was inspiring and varied! My daughter, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the numerous offers for children. What we both particularly enjoyed was the opportunity to spend a lot of time in nature. The festival's location on the water and in the middle of the beautiful landscape created a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. After the program items, we were always able to take short breaks in nature, be it a walk or a picnic together. (Translated by Google) There is a lot of light and shadow at the festival - both wanted and unwanted. In general, the design of the area is very successful with all the stalls and lights - that's great eye candy after dark. All the illuminated boats on the Schlei were also a feast for the eyes. The atmosphere is generally very relaxed and relaxed. The layout of the stages, on the other hand, is not that successful, the large main stage is great, lots of space and sound for the performances with the Schlei in the background = WOW! The small "garden stage", on the other hand, hardly deserves its name; it's not really much more than a tarpaulin on a platform. It's a shame when such good bands like "Brothers Moving" from DK are squeezed in and they can't even develop 10% due to a lack of space. It's a shame that the two relevant music acts of the day overlapped a lot - why not one after the other and with a 15 minute break in between so that you can watch both bands in peace? Unfortunately, it is very, very disappointing that there is no choice of beer. If you already have Ratsherren (Super) as your beer partner, why is there always the same Pilsener everywhere? Why not the great Coastal IPA, Wheat IPA or the other Ratsherren beer specialties like the Pale Ale or the Dryhopped? You can at least offer it from the bottle as an alternative. Unfortunately, €4.50 for a 0.3 beer from a plastic cup is a steep price - but at least it's fresh and cool. We had food from Ben's fish hut (great fish & chips!) and the aurochs burgers - which, however, cost almost €10 a piece and are rather oversized (and without any side dishes!). Crepe for 6-7€ etc. In terms of price, everything is already clearly at the upper end. So my wishes for the future would be: Slightly larger second stage, music acts spaced apart, more beer selection.

(Translated by Google) "NORDEN – The Nordic Arts Festival" and Schleswig's role in it: "Schleswig can also be Scandinavian – A festival for the senses (and moose cheese)" Who would have thought that Schleswig – yes, this charming little town on the Schlei, previously known primarily for fish sandwiches, the cathedral, and lots of sky – would suddenly become the unofficial capital of Scandinavia? But that's exactly what happens every late summer at NORDEN – The Nordic Arts Festival, where moose and Vikings say goodnight to each other and suddenly everyone starts to find wooden boats romantic. As soon as you enter the festival grounds, you feel like you're in a cross between Astrid Lindgren's Bullerby, an Icelandic street food market, and a Danish hygge magazine. The smell of cinnamon, smoked fish, and freshly turned wooden spoons fills the air – a culinary and aesthetic hit. The program? A grab-bag of Scandinavian indie pop, Norwegian jazz, Swedish poetry, Faroese deep-sea slackline art (okay, maybe not that), and interactive offerings like "How to Knit a Sweater with Only One Reindeer Hair." The kids romp around natural playgrounds, while the adults philosophize about the meaning of life and the color gray over Arctic wine and fjord art. And Schleswig? The city has really dressed up for this festival – both metaphorically and literally. Streets usually dominated by retirees with walkers and seagulls suddenly blossom: with colorful fairy lights, open-air concerts, and the feeling that even the sky above the Schlei seems somehow more... Nordic. Conclusion: "NORDEN – The Nordic Arts Festival" is like a mini vacation in Scandinavia, only without the flights, the risk of moose accidents, or €12 beer prices. Schleswig has put together something that's not only a cultural highlight—it also demonstrates that there's truly great festival magic between Viking helmets and wool socks. Skål, Schleswig! Therefore, five out of five stars.

As you meander down the path leading to this cozy establishment, you'll discover a serene garden setting that perfectly complements the warm and inviting ambiance inside. The restaurant boasts charming old-style decor, creating an atmosphere that's both welcoming and nostalgic.
We had a great dinner outside in the patio. Good wine, well prepared fish of the day, and as a vegetarian I chose the vegetables&potatoes from the oven (Gemüsepfanne) which was great! And decent vegetarian food is not easy to find in Schleswig, it seems.. Dessert of the day was also good and everything had very decent prizes.

Patio Restaurant – A Hidden Gem in Schleswig Tucked away in a charming back street off the main road, Patio Restaurant is a true hidden gem in the heart of Schleswig. The journey to this delightful spot feels like a small adventure—follow the path, and you’ll be led to a serene garden where a cozy house-turned-restaurant awaits. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a rich, old-style decor that adds to the charm. You can choose to dine in the lovely garden, on the first floor, or even the second, each offering its own unique atmosphere. The menu is impressively varied, catering to different tastes, including a great selection of vegetarian options. Every dish is beautifully presented—almost too pretty to eat—but once you take a bite, the taste matches the visual appeal. Portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for money. We've made a reservation for next weekend. (Translated by Google) August 22, 2025 We really wanted to have Greek food, but since there weren't many restaurants open nearby at lunchtime, we drove to Schleswig to visit the Greek restaurant in the Friedrichsberg district. The interior is typically Mediterranean and looks quite new. The space isn't large, but it's well-used without feeling cramped. Due to the time of day—the restaurant had only been open for about an hour—we were quickly asked for our order several times. We ordered beef liver for lunch and the Hermes plate. The food arrived quickly, and we were truly delighted. We've never had beef liver prepared so well before; the gyros and bifteki were also very good and beautifully presented. The value for money is very good. We highly recommend this restaurant and also recommend the lunch specials. Many thanks to the staff; we'll definitely be back. 😀 😉

Indian restaurant
Puri Puri in Schleswig Holstein is undoubtedly one of the top Indian restaurants in the area. The staff provides a warm and efficient service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The cuisine itself is simply outstanding, reminiscent of the delicious homemade dishes one would expect from their own mother's kitchen. The prices are also quite reasonable, making it an all-around excellent choice for anyone seeking authentic Indian cuisine.
On a recent trip, while in transit from Gothenborg, Sweden to The Netherlands we decided to stay one over night in Schleswig in Germany. Only two minutes walking from our small and cute hotel Zollhaus was this 4.6 google review rated local Indian restaurant. Forget the local Schnitzels! I am not sure if the people who rated a 1, 2 or 3 star ever had Indan food before in their lives, but this place is truly amazing! Very polite, kind and friendly service, a very relaxing and quiet ambiance and splendid Indian food! We started with a refreshing mango lassi and a local beer, both great. We had the naan bread with garlic, and also ordered the Chicken Tikki Marsala, and the Chicken Tikka. You know your dish is really great when you keep eating eventhough your stomach says you are full! At the end my wife and I both had some Indian coffee for dessert and that alone is worth the visit to this restaurant! I really hope this nice restaurant keeps doing well in a relatively small town with only 27,00 people. Perhaps many people vacation here, or travel through here. Google, is it allowed to give 6 stars as well? ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Small and hectic. Staff would benefit from adding a colleague or two to pace down. They were however very friendly and the food was absolutely amazing! Price/quality ratio really good! I warmly recommend this.

Indian food lovers, traveling from the Netherlands to the Faroe Islands, made a stopover in Schleswig based on all the good reviews and visited this restaurant. We hadn't made a reservation, and upon arrival it was fully booked, with people waiting at the bar. Fortunately, we arrived a bit late and didn't have to wait long for a table. We regularly heard "see you next time" from departing guests, a good sign. It was a bit too busy for the few staff members, but they were visibly working hard, so a short wait wasn't a problem. And the food was absolutely worth the wait. The reviews are well-deserved. The papadums were freshly baked, the chicken and lamb were very tender and deliciously seasoned. A couple of refreshing Fischer King beers to go with it—enjoy! Highly recommended.

We had a nice dinner there. The meals were very good, waiter was nice. It's was full when we arrived, people were noisy, but when some groups left it was really nice. Pity that they didn't have the Peshwari naan.

We had a wonderful experience at Puri Puri. We are a group of four Americans passing through on bicycles. We craved Indian food and found Puri Puri. We were treated to one the best Indian meals we have ever had! We had the lamb tikka, lamb tikka masala, mater paneer, bakara saag and puri. Every dish was outstanding!
